Book summaries and submitted endorsements below:
Paradise Rot by Jenny Hval
Jo is in a strange new country for university, and having a more peculiar time than most. A house with no walls, a roommate with no boundaries, and a home that seems ever more alive. Jo’s sensitivity, and all her senses, become increasingly heightened and fraught, as the lines between bodies and plants, and dreaming and wakefulness, blur and mesh.
This debut novel from critically acclaimed artist and musician Jenny Hval, presents a heady and hyper-sensual portrayal of sexual awakening and queer desire. A complex, poetic and strange novel about bodies, sexuality and the female gender.
Literary fiction, surrealism, coming of age, adult
Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle
Endorsement from submitter: "Queer horror about a conversion camp"
A searing and earnest horror debut about the demons the queer community faces in America, the price of keeping secrets, and finding the courage to burn it all down.
They’ll scare you straight to hell.
Welcome to Neverton, Montana: home to a God-fearing community with a heart of gold.
Nestled high up in the mountains is Camp Damascus, the self-proclaimed “most effective” gay conversion camp in the country. Here, a life free from sin awaits. But the secret behind that success is anything but holy.
Horror, religious horror, thriller, adult

Hi flesh and corruption nation if you like sapphism (I know what you are) you should read Paradise Rot by Jenny Hval it is literally if a Norwegian girlie moved in with an Australian avatar of the corruption with a taste of the flesh in Melbourne and then they were gay and it’s so so so good
Like imagine if a statement was 200 pages. That’s literally Paradise Rot

here's a little playlist for the ones of us who lean more into the gloomier side of cottagecore
songs number 1, 9, 17 and 18 are from a late youtube playlist. the one that made me find out about cottagegore. this new playlist is an oath to that
number 2 is a song we studied in music class when i was fourteen, it has stayed with me since
number 3 dates back a few years, when i'd go to the library to write stories and borrow cds. angel olsen was one of those artists i discovered thanks to that hobby
numbers 4 and 5 are recommendations from the artist of number 12. who, btw, listens to a lot of the artists on that playlist.
number 6 i found on a friend's playlist. thanks roman
numbers 7, 13, 14, 15 and 16 are from various shows (the last of us, teen wolf, harry potter, the walking dead and the haunting of bly manor)
numbers 8 and 10 i've been listening to since the womb
number 11 was just a happy mistake
number 12 is my favourite artist. i have had the honour of hearing him live, it was transcendent
