Movies for Halloween
Werewolf (1987)
Yes, yes...I know...it's a TV series, but I couldn't help including it, and I think you'll forgive me. Werewolf was one of the first offerings of the fledgling Fox Network and, for its day, was considered one of the best of the genre. It is the story of Eric Cord, played by a studly young John J. York, who has been bitten by a werewolf, and inherits his curse, which he wishes to escape. To do so, he must find and kill the founder of his particular werewolf clan. The series traces his efforts to track down the founder, keep from hurting innocent lives when he transforms, as well as stay ahead of the people who want to kill him.
Werewolf has achieved a sort of cult status and good copies of it are difficult to find....remember, this series was produced when the most common TV set was 19 inches! You can watch all 29 episodes at the Internet Archive (Archive.org), which has a fair quality collection, but if anyone knows where better can be had, I'd love to hear. Enjoy!

[ SHAVE ]: sender sits in the receiver's lap so they can carefully shave the last of the receiver's stubble from their face.
The smooth finish of the razor's handle is cool beneath Legault's touch as he traces a finger along its edge. It's a straightforward design with little embellishment, but well-sharpened for proper use—a tool that befits its owner, he thinks.
A well-sharpened blade in a well-sharpened knight's hand does little good if his arm can't stay steady, though. An assassin knows well enough how easy it is for a well-placed injury to hinder a one's motor skills. Heath's current state following a scuffle up in the mountains is evidence enough of that.
Thankfully, an assassin's hand is pretty steady too.
"I think the stubble's quite becoming, honestly. But if you hate it this much..."
He curls a finger beneath Heath's chin, urging him to tilt his face upward. His eyes follow the shape of the knight's larynx dipping down toward his shirt collar, knowing all too well the arteries that frame it beneath the skin.
"Just hold steady now."
With the way his own pulse makes itself known in his throat, the low instruction is directed toward himself just as much as it is Heath.
Heath's never been one to enjoy facial hair. He doesn't grow it well, but it grows relatively quickly, which is a poor combination. Shaving has become an effortless part of his daily routine, his razor sharpened alongside his lance.
Unfortunately, his chin's starting to look a bit like a meadow today. Turns out an injury to his dominant hand makes it impossible to safely shave, and of course he's out on a multi-day assignment.
Naturally, it's with Legault. Because the universe has it out for Heath.
It starts with an offhanded comment. Legault says something about him doing something new with his looks, says it looks handsome or some hogwash. Heath, used to his antics, retorts that of course he'd say that, but he hates it. It'd be gone if not for that stupid lucky shot...
Legault gets all worried about the severity of the wound, which Heath's admittedly been downplaying, but it's just because he knows how these things heal. He can swing a lance just fine as long as he's careful. Fine motor skills are another thing, though.
And then Legault, audacious as ever, half-jokingly offers to do the shave for him.
And Heath, who's seemingly lost all sense, agrees.
Neither man seems to be expecting that response. But neither man backs down. Which is how Heath's ended up with a blade at his throat and his heart half-caught in it, Legault's presence on his lap impossible to ignore.
"I promise you, it'll get less flattering by the day." Heath's voice is low, keenly aware of the coldness of the razor flirting with his skin in contrast to the warmth of Legault's touch. He suppresses a shudder. "You'd sing a different tune in a week."
Legault could do whatever he wanted to him, like this. There is an element of trust here, control bequeathed of his own will to a man he once avoided on principal.
I win.
As Legault skillfully works away at the offending stubble, Heath's mind can't help but wander to the last time someone he trusted held a blade so close to him. It's admittedly not a great distraction from certain physical reactions he's trying to tamp down, but it's hard to resist.
Lachius had straddled him, too. In a different position, in very different circumstances, but the sharpness against his rabbit-quick pulse is unchanging, the tension laying thick as ever in the air.
(He cannot think about what followed, that fateful day. That'd betray his internal struggles to Legault in perhaps the worst and most undeniable way possible. He'd rather just die at that point.)
Still, Heath's mind continues its trek. Desire and grief intermingle, a longing that he's done a decent job of suppressing. Legault and Lachius are distinct, but he cannot deny the similarities as they come up.
How would they get along? They'd have a good time teasing Heath together, that's for sure. The combination of dry wit and playfulness would be a nightmare. It'd take Legault longer to earn Lachius' trust than even Heath's, though. Especially if he'd survived...
Well. Heath is out of the danger zone. One of them, at least. His chest aches, and it's hard to keep his breath entirely steady, but if he just sits and quiets his mind, it'll be over soon enough.
"You're good at this," he manages during a lull. He can't see it just yet, but he can feel it, and there's plenty of evidence on Legault's own face. It's hard not to see, from here. "Transferable skills, eh?"
He isn't looking forward to the void Legault will leave (that Lachius has left). But tempting fate like this is more reckless than he has any right to do.

Wishlist!
So, let's get this started, I guess the best way to do so is to post some prompts I'd like to try? Both from this month's board missions and some outside of it! Feel free to ask about anything here via im? I'll be happy to plot with everyone!
Mission Task Board:
Monster... Danger? [Lance +1] As a Knight of Seiros, it is Geoffrey's duty to see to any students or staff's security if they were to take on those hunters' offer to hunt with them- no complaining allowed, he's coming with.
Flower viewing or flower chopping? [Axe +1] He was sent there to help with the cutting down of those invasive trees, but even him can enjoy the view of such beautiful flowers and is having a hard time doing his duty... How shameful for a knight! (Still...) (plotting with legault!)
Buried in the Snow. [Heavy Armor +1] If you didn't know this before, you'll soon learn about how that new Seiros Knight is Stubborn and won't let you give him a centimeter of your one and only blanket. He will be your blanket before he even takes said blanket FOR himself. (forcing the blanket on ryoma >:/)
You are allowed to pet it... Once! [Riding +1] Yes, he's helping with the wolf pups! Yes he had no experience with that, but he's trying his best! (Maybe taking care of horses isn't that different? Hopefully...). And yes he'll allow you to pet them and play a bit with them if you're carefully and gentle and- No, no, he doesn't want to pet one himself, he cannot! (plotting with pelleas and ena!)
Non Mission Board:
Look at that, another lance wielding blue-haired guy! He just wanted to do his job and do it well, but the new environment and place- and people- can be a bit overwhelming. He wouldn't mind meeting new people (or old friends again), but he might be a big clumsy at it right now! (Which he shouldn't, get a hold of yourself Geoffrey!).
Also, have you seen Queen Elincia, is she well?

“The A-Team” s2e8 (1983)
Tumblr media
Tracy Scoggins, John Quade.
Above-average instalment with the Team helping fishermen in a small coastal town. Decker is still right behind them, just like in the previous episode. He catches them, which gives the episode a real shot in the arm when Murdock and Amy must rescue their comrades.
This highlights one of the more ingenious aspects of the concept. The A-Team only consists of Hannibal, Faceman, and B.A. Decker is never all that bothered about the other two, which allows them a certain useful freedom.
Another clever aspect of the show's concept is the idea of Face conning people out of supplies. He works alone here and has a funny scene with Betty (Rebecca Stanley) in her scuba shop.
Melinda Culea only has 2 more episodes after this. Culea is good but the character of Amy added nothing to the show.
This is the third episode for Lance LeGault as Col. Decker. He will appear in 7 this season, and 18 episodes in total.
November 1983: NBC aired The A-Team in the first hour of Tuesday prime time before Remington Steele. Against it, CBS had The Mississippi while ABC aired Just Our Luck and Happy Days. At the end of the season, The A-Team ranked 4th out of 101 prime time shows. It ranked #1 out of NBC’s 30 scripted shows, ahead of Riptide at #2 and Knight Rider at #4.

"They are." From here, he could see the travesties of the beasts in the flickers of light outside the camp walls. He's sure they had defeated these ones once before, but he can only shake his head at his assumption. "We must face them. Ready or not."
And so they did meet the enemy at their doorstep once darkness encroaches on their campsite. It was a wolf first up that wanted to nip at their weapons and defenses, but Professor Selena had no hesitation with dispatching the creature. A pillar of flames engulfed the creature and its howl of pain carried into the night. Awash with flames was its pelt and its maw hung open to pant its pain away, before another wave of wind stirred up the cinders in its pelt. The small rising flames do it in.
From behind the Professor, Dedue takes his stance next and parries with a beast in bird form. The unfamiliar yet ghoulish caw sends no shivers of fear or disgust down his spine—it simply alerts Dedue where the bird is in the haze of night. Short of just throwing his lance like a javelin, he sticks the bird center of mass and repels its advancements by knocking it down. It squawks as it pulls itself back up to flap into position to strike him twice. Once a nick, twice a larger abrasion.
Another strike from his lance in retaliation, and it crumbles to the ground with one final noise of pain. The air soon fills with another animalistic noise, and it's ungodly—horrid, loud, and sickening.
Forde is before said creature, a blood of miasmic sludge wriggling amongst the grass. And his twirling lance takes its center of mass with ease, as the thing flattens out in death. Selena is already taking the dragon they had not dealt with days before head-on. Flames washing over the creatures scales and curling around the wings. The creature slumps in no time, and Selena is its killer.
He is sure the mimicking blob of sludge that he sees is their next target, when he prepares his lance. Curling his fingers tightly around the hilt, he puts all his weight and strength into the hold of the lance—a deadly edge pointed at its mass. It connects, just barely, as the thing shrieks and writhes in pain, ungodly shrill. The slime lets out a wave of poison through its wound and while Dedue catches some of it, he can hear Legault's disgusted cry as he too gets a taste of it. With a lunge, Legault joins him in killing the creature, and he's sure they are fine—
... until he hears a ghastly whinny. Dede turns, and the dreaded knight from nights before gallops to its allies' side. Selena shoots fire to slow down it's advancing, a good attempt as parts of armour from horse and insufferable rider melt or go flying, but it still continues forward. The forest does not hinder it at all as it takes a large swipe at them all, giving it its all for them to feel it. And he does. Dedue is already weak from the night before, and with the poison in his newfound wounds—the strike takes the last bit of wind his sails could muster. He goes sliding in the grass closest to the campfire, almost ceremoniously delivered in irony upon his defeat.
Dedue is defeated!
Stay... strong... !
