73-2366 - Laguindingan airport
Here is another blast from the recent past – a sketch I found unfinished from our trip to Camiguin. This one was done at the airport on the way home. There really is a massive advertisement on the wall in the terminal that dwarfs the passengers…even though I got the proportion of the tyre compared to the truck a bit wrong. Sat-8-Apr-2023

"Our Unwind Adventure" to worst ended highlight
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last Sunday, April 2, 2003, my close org mate - Liza & Ver decided to have fun. We have a "kind of" road trip at the same exercise by riding bicycle. There were from Iponan and while me started at Molugan. I don't have bicycle so I rented one kay Sir Cumba. We have a lot of fun and of course chika. Our first stop was the batchoyan in Alubijid 8am exact, it was worth 40 pesos enough for our breakfast. Then we did some little grocery for our food and snacks to eat opkors. We are now headed to Tubajon, Laguindingan, it was a rough journey since its too hot and steep to bike, it was like near sa Laguindingan airport . But Actually we made, after looking for free beaches we found one near a parking lot. We continued our chika there and got some relaxing sight looking at the sea and mangroves. The sand were white, too many sewage floating, and the beache in the middle in muddy tapos nag stroll-stroll gamay. And the funniest, our food from karinderya kay nakuha sa magbalsa, you know floating cottages. We ask Kuya there na nadala ba nila among food and yes daw kuno naa didto sa floating cottage sa tourist. Then nag ask mi na pwedi pabato makuha ana sila sakay sa bangka kay kuha'on nato. And that was the time na we got libre sakay sa bangka and it was like 3/4km from the shore but it was exciting and unexpected. Then, we decided to transfer to another resort or what para mapura mih og ligo kay katong among beach na idtoan kay muddy. Barefoot ra gani mi nag bike kay doul raman. Tapos we paid for 30 entrance and change. And o may ghad gyud pangit kaayo ang ang tubig mura ra og suba tapos its so salty kaayo nag dry gyud akong hair for days. But we enjoyed naman strolling again, taking pictures, eat our snacks. After that we decided to go home kay hapit na hapon.

(Yup I had a haircut. LOL Visit Shave Bar here in CDO they are the best!)
Today is our final day in CDO and we planned on having lunch at High Ridge, and visiting the Divine Mercy Shrine to say some prayers before heading back to Laguindingan airport for our flight to Manila.
High Ridge is a hilltop restaurant located in Upper Macasandig which has a commanding view of the city’s downtown area. It is perfect ffor first timers here in CDO to have a snap of the urban landscape. The ambience was cozy, and the food were tasty. My favorite dish was the sinuglaw. Sinuglaw is a combination of fish ceviche—in this case, tuna—plus inihaw na liempo, or grilled pork belly. The two are eaten together for a wonderful dish that pairs smoky, fatty meat with the clean, tart flavors of vinegar-cured fish. They’re dressed with a mix of coconut milk, onions, chiles, and tomatoes. I’ve tried sinuglaw before, but this is the best one so far.
The Divine Mercy hills is famous for its 50-foot statue of Jesus, where the faithful process into his body via a staircase that radiates out from his body. You can climb right up to the very heart of the statue through stairs hidden in the two rays. It's a 60-step climb plus another 20 steps forming the pedestal. The statue was completed in 2008, and is surrounded by lush gardens. Visitors are welcome, but advised to dress respectfully.
Unfortunately, the staircase to the heart was closed when we visited, so I just appreciated the statue's majesty fronting the ocean view, lighted some candles on the big cross, and silently prayed for my bar exams. Lord, ikaw na bahala.

PEACE
This very day last year I flew to Mindanao. It was my first time. I was scared for my life. I’ve always hoped Mindanao was the complete opposite of what media has depicted it to be. I was scared to be proven wrong.
Groups of soldiers at a checkpoint welcomed us upon exiting Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental. Mindanao was under Martial Law then. It was also the height of EJK (Extrajudicial Killings) in the country. My goal for this trip was to know the other side of the stories. So I asked the locals.
To my surprise, the majority of them have agreed that Martial Law has played an integral role in keeping the peace and order in Mindanao. “Don’t believe the news!” one said. “It’s been peaceful since Duterte became president,” said the other. The Manileños we’ve met we’re as amazed as us on how we could roam around the streets of Cagayan de Oro at night without fearing for our lives. I honestly felt safer here than in Manila.
But I’ll never forget a conversation I had with one of the locals on the way to Bukidnon. He said that before the Duterte administration, it was chaos in their town. He told us about how some members of Maute group were captured and shared how the justice system worked there. Apparently, EJK was (and still is) real and it’s prevalent from where he is from. He told us stories of rape and looting, and how the suspects were killed within days. Some of them were released from jail, but they never attempted to go back home to their families because they knew that there’s a vigilante group hunting them down. Mindanao is not an isolated case as killings continues around the country. Injustices, abuse and oppression are slowly becoming part of the norm. Heartbreaking, I know. Only a few are entitled for a due process. This time you commit a crime, you die.
I have a friend who believes in the vision of EJK. Yes, it’s possible to be friends with someone who has opposing views. We dont have to hate each other. She told me about their family’s first-hand encounter with a drug addict. And through that, I somehow understood where she was coming from. But in my head, I thought: is violence really our only option to seek justice? There must be another way.
Yes, towns are quiet, but people are scared. If peace is defined as this, I don’t want it. Francis Magalona once wrote: “You can’t talk peace and have a gun.” I still want to cling on to hope that justice is possible without violence. As Lennon put it: “You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.”

Bagahe Padala App [Week 11: Perspectives]
Math and numbers.
These two words are the main stars for this week. This week we crafted the Bagahe Padala App`s Revenue Model.
Along the process, the team has done a lot of revisions to come up with the perfect revenue model that fits the start up.
ZDMC decided to use the Commission Revenue Model.
Below is our business model. This a linear business model that reaches the goal of generating profit through cheap charging fee and advertisements methods.
Tumblr media
A user is charged a fee for each transaction in the commission model. It is by far the most common business strategy for an online marketplace. The marketplace receives a percentage or a fixed fee for its services when the client pays the provider. Either the customer or the consumer might be charged by the platform.
For now, Bagahe Padala App will operate free of charge and we will profit the business by taking commission rates every transaction.
We take 3% commission rate from every transaction which is the cheapest rate among the competitors. Our lowest commission rate could be our competitive advantage among the competing business.
Revenue Streams
We can profit Bagahe Padala App by taking other businesses` advertisements following the CPA, CPV, CPC, and CPM advertisement method. Each click could amount to a corresponding rate.
OUR VARIOUS COMPUTATIONS
TOTAL REVENUE FOR THE ADVERTISEMENT METHODS
We get the total revenue of APP ads by using this formula EX: ₱11.55 (ADS RATES) * 10 est. No of ads = ₱115.50 : ₱1,055.108 (overall total of rates) * 30 (days Fee for Advertisement) = ₱31,653.00
Computation for transportation revenue
Since our computed TAM is 1,000,000 customers, we can assume that number to compute the commission revenue and net revenue.
1,000,000.00(Frequency of customers) * ₱547.66 (riders transportation payment)= ₱547,660,000.00
Computation for founders commission revenue
1,000,000.00(Frequency of customers) * ₱16.94(Founders commission)= ₱16,938,000.00
Computation for Net revenue
₱564,631,653 + ₱31,653,000,000 = ₱564,631,653 - ₱6,502.81 (fees we need to pay)
Total Net Revenue =₱564,635,533.71
LIFETIME AVERAGE OF THE CUSTOMER
LIFETIME CUSTOMER VALUE= AVERAGE VALUE OF SALES * NUMBER OF TRANSACTIONS * LIFETIME /COURSE OF YEARS
LIFETIME CUSTOMER VALUE= 564.00 (Estimated minimum charging fee from Laguindingan to CDO proper ) * 5 (Average number of travel/arrival per year ( Interviewed 10 persons Travellers and OFW)) * 5
LIFETIME CUSTOMER VALUE= Php 14,100
ESTIMATED MINIMUM COST OF TRANSPORTATION FEE FROM LAGUINDINGAN AIRPORT TO CDO PROPER= 564.00
NUMBER OF TRANSACTION PER YEAR BASED LATEST SURVEY = 5 PER YEAR
Average time a customer remains active before they drop off and go “dormant= 5 years
