You were doing laundry when you heard the door open and the sound of your boyfriend’s duffle bag dropping to the floor. He calls out your name. Once, twice. The third time, you answer with, “Hold on! Stay where you are! I’ll be right there.”

Your smile widens while you carefully fold the last towel. Exiting the laundry room, you round the corner, your heart fluttering at the sight of him, standing there in all his glory.

Sweaty and probably a bit smelly. But, him.

“Hi, you,” you chirp, placing a quick peck to his cheek. You feel his hands place themselves onto your hips, pulling you in closer. Grimacing, you slowly pull back. “Hey, shower first, yeah?”

Pedri lets out a laugh, shaking his head at your joke. Well, not really a joke. He knew he probably reeked. “Just a hug. Please?”

With narrowed eyes, you reply, “Just a hug?”

“Just a hug.” He confirmed.

With that, you gently wrap your arms around his neck, feeling the warmth of his embrace. His arms instinctively find their place around your waist, drawing you closer. His hands beginning to trace soothing circles on your back.

It was a calm moment, but you couldn’t help but scrunch your nose and say, “How about now?”

“That bad, huh?”

“I’m sorry,” you countered softly, “But, yes.”

At your answer, Pedri finally relents, a hint of reluctance in his movements as he pulls back. “Alright, I'll shower. Do you have any plans?”

“Nope! I was just finishing up the laundry.”

“Okay, I’ll be back,” he says, giving your temple a kiss before brushing past you and making his way to the bathroom. You can't help but let out a giggle at how eager he seems. He was always clingy. It only ever increased after a long day.

After twenty minutes had passed, you felt his chin rest on your shoulder. “Hi, I showered.”

You smile almost instantly, your eyes lighting up with amusement. “I see that—Pedri!” You exclaim, lifting your hand to wipe away the droplets of water that had trickled from his hair onto your shoulder. “You’re getting water on me!”

He sighs dramatically, his arms encircling your waist before coming to rest on your abdomen. “Come on. Can you just let me hold you?”

“Well! It’s cold.”

“It'll dry off,” he retorted, his head nestled in the crook of your neck as he deeply inhaled your scent. It brought him an overwhelming sense of peace. Not just the scent, but everything about you had a calming effect on him. He adored you for that, which is why he tenderly peppered your neck with small, loving kisses, noticing the way your smile only spreads wider across your face.

With one last kiss, he whispers, “I love you.” Those three words make you turn in his arms and gaze up at him with lovestruck eyes.

“I love you too.”
