out of your league - paul x reader
AN: Thanks so much for the love for the 1st part of this story đ Should I make this full blown story? Just lmk! xoxo <<prev >>next
âMm. I donât like the word bye. Tell me youâll see me again.â
You look at him, surprised that he wants to see you again. Clearly, he enjoyed your company.
âOkay. Iâll see you later.â you speak out.
He watched you go up your stairs and go into your house before pulling off. You felt so in a daze, you didnât know why you felt this way. You replayed the day in your head when you showered.
You replayed it when you were trying to count sheep to go to sleep.
While you were getting ready for school, you had the realization that you were going to see him again. You made your way to the front of your house and opened your front door and Paulâs car startled you. It was so unexpected, you didnât even have time to pump yourself up.
You walked closer and in front of the passenger side door and you wait for him to roll down the window, which he does.
âGet in.â he says like this like it was a frequent thing that you two do.
You take your time to get in, questions swirl your mind.
âGood morning. Thanks.â you tell him.
He nods in acknowledgment.
âSoâŠyou decided to come to school?â you ask, the silence after was deafening but come on, he came to school like it was an occasion.
âYeah.â he just says and you just shift your backpack thatâs between your legs into a more comfortable position. You choose to look outside and watch the trees and street signs fleet pass.
You loved these types of mornings. It was a slight drizzle but it was so relaxing.
âYou look nice.â he said with a sentence and you look over, he was actually looking down at your outfit.
âOh, thank you.â you say, your heart start to race.
You mentally face palm yourself for being so nervous and flattered. âHe is only driving you to school.â you kept telling yourself. âHeâs only doing a nice gesture.â you said in your head. You didnât want to get your hopes up and assume things that werenât like that.
It was ingrained in you to compliment someone back if they compliment you. You look over to see what he has on. Everything was nice. His entire outfit matched with crisp shoes, new shoes that you knew for a fact that recently came out.
âI like your outfit too.â you say and he grins, âThank you.â He replies in a sultry tone.
You swallow hard. Everything he does is with ease. Cool without even trying.
The school building comes into view. You already take your seatbelt off and say your thanks. Before he could reply you pick up your pace in going into the building. You show your school ID, going in through bag checks, and going straight to your locker.
You get ready for your first class and only bring out what you need before putting your bag and jacket in there. You close your locker door and Paul was there.
âOh shit!â you say under you breath with a chuckle, he came out of nowhere.
âBefore you rolled out, I wanted to know if you did this.â He says to you and an over-folded homework sheet is in display of his hands. âYeah, I did it. I can teach you, you know so you donât have to keep copying. What happens when the test comes?â you say.
He glances at it and then back to you. âItâs boring.â
You were about to speak out but your best friend, Kim comes into view, giving you a hug. This makes you smile and chuckle, happy to see her.
You just reach for Paulâs worksheet, knowing he wonât have time to copy it all since the first bell was about to ring. âIâll just do it.â you tell him and he plainly gives it to you and walks away.
Kim links her arm with hers and once you two start walking, she hounds you. âWhy are you doing his homework? Canât he do it himself?â
âHe needed help. Thereâs no time.â you tell her.
She shakes her head and tells you ,âBe careful. Heâs just going to use you just to pass. Who knows if heâs even going to pass this year.â
Your feelings were hurt even though she wasnât talking about you. It felt like she was though. He wasnât even all that bad from what youâve been around. He just wasnât strong in that particular subject, that was okay, school wasnât for everyone.
You did complete the worksheet. You wrote it sloppier than your own handwriting, not knowing how he even writes. Plus, the teacher seemed to know everyoneâs handwriting.
You two had the same lunch before history. You, Kim, and a couple of other friends put your book bags in the seats you all were claiming before heading to the lunch line. You seen Paul come down a stairwell and you make your way towards him. The paper you hand him was refolded and he stops to look at it.
âI did it. Just changed the answers around a bit.â you remind him. He nods as he remembers and chuck it in his back pocket. You were about to walk away until he says, âYou eating lunch?â
You nod and he nods too and follows you. Kim and others were a bit ahead of you in line so you cross your arms and lean against the wall, waiting for your turn to pick out what you want.
Paulâs friends are now behind him, starting up conversation. As the line moves, you feel the fabric of his clothes on you, you pay it no mind.
Once you have your food, pay extra for a snack and juice instead of the milk they offer, you make your way to your table.
âWhere you going?â Paul asks.
âTo..my table.â you say.
âYou donât want to sit with me?â he asks, it caught you off guard how he was actually perplexed that you werenât following him and his crew.
You shrug, not knowing what to say, and when you sit down, he slowly sits down at another table just watching you. The look on his face had a look of gloom, not even paying attention to his own conversation.
You try your best to keep your mind on the conversation that your peers were having in front of you. You kept in mind what Kim said. You didnât want to be used in any way.
You made your way to history and the class dragged on. Paul came in late, lazily puts his homework in the homework bin, sits in his seat in the back of the classroom and goes to sleep. The teacher doesnât even bother to bring attention to it, they didnât feel like arguing with him and wanted to get through the lesson.
As the class was filing out, he was still sleep. Nobody wanted to wake him up out of fear. You walk over, shake his warm arm, not too hard to startle him. His bloodshot eyes meet yours. âClass is over.â you tell him.
He looks around, stretch a bit and scrunch his eyes. He gets up and you just make your way to your next class.
When the day was over, you went to retrieve your jacket, the rain from earlier being heavy now. Youâre almost down the hallway, âY/N!â you turn around. Paul dangles his car keys. âYou want a ride?â
You definitely did not want to walk in the rain or get on the rowdy bus. You nod and thank him. You two walk in stride and you poke fun of him for sleeping. âI just couldnât do it. I told you itâs boring.â he simply replies.
Seated in his car, his scent being all over the car, you put your seatbelt on. He yawns and asks, âDo you want to come back over?â
You had no plans on having afterschool plans, the teachers had no mercy and homework was piled up today. âI got homework. I have to tackle it before I feel like I wonât feel like it.â you reply.
âCool. We can do it together. Plus you said you were going to help me.â
âI said I can help you. Not that I would.â
âSame thing.â
Thatâs how you two were sprawled on Paulâs bed, that he didnât bother to make up. He even changed into his house clothes, which wasnât much since it was loose basketball shorts and no shirt. You tried to not stare too much. Just peeked glances when he would turn away. You were only there to teach him some strategies that helped you understand the hardness of your work.
But it seemed impossible, he kept distracting you. Once you went to explain how to get a certain answer, he would rub his finger softly back and forth on the back of your resting hand. That would give you butterflies and it would make you retract your hand, due to nervousness. He found this amusing. It was as if he knew the effect he had on you.
âI want to take a break.â he decided.
âWe barely put a dent in.â you say.
He sighs softly and looks around his room. âWant to play cards?â
âI donât want to play go fish.â you say with a hint of annoyance.
He nudges you, âCome on iâm not playing that.â
You two shared a game of spades. As the game was still fresh, you two organizing your cards from highest to lowest rank, he makes a deal. âIf you win, we can go back to our work.â
âGood.â you say and look at your cards.
âIf I winâŠâ he starts to say and waits for you to look up. He had a mischievous look on his face that makes you roll your eyes.
âWhat? If you win, what?â you ask.
âIf I winâŠyou have toâŠkiss me.â he says with an anticipation effect.
You shake your head and scoff. You knew if you two kissed, things will never be the same. Thatâs all you would have on your mind. You wouldnât even look at him the same. Plus, this guy seemed to know the game better than you. He did have to teach you the rules after all.
âIâm not doing that.â you playfully say.
He nods his head to solidify thatâs exactly whatâs going to happen and hums a response. You zero in on the game you two were playing. You wanted to save yourself the trouble, so you were determined to win. It didnât seem to matter, everything so far was working in his favor. He won trick after trick. You only won one. After scoring, he did in fact win.
You groan while he laughs in satisfaction. Scooping the cards up and puts them back where they belong. You lamely announce you have to go to the bathroom, standing up and make your way towards his bedroom door.
âUh uh.â he says to you, clearly seeing through your excuse. âI won. So, where my prize?â
âIt wasnât a fair win. Before this game, I didnât even know how to play.â you say.
âA deals a deal.â He says.
You stand there for a sec, too stunned, because since he did in fact win, you had to carry out the deal.
âWhat are you waiting for. Letâs get it over with.â you tell him when he doesnât move. He gets up and is now very close in front of you, nervousness is seeping through your entire body. Youâve never been this close to him before, especially face to face. He hurt so much to look at him because he just had a face that anybody would go crazy for.
âI said you have to kiss me. So iâm ready when you are.â he says lowly and looks at your lips.
You wouldâve never thought in a million years that you would be in Paul Lahoreâs room, about to kiss Paul Lahote. You suck in a shaky breath and quickly lean forward and press your lips to his. Heâs not satisfied and his face doesnât hide it.
âThat was not a kiss.â
âYes it was.â you tell him.
âNo. I want a real kiss.â he says and thereâs no signs of him giving up. He knows youâre stalling, so he curl his finger in a âcome hereâ motion to hurry you up.
You slowly inch and inch and you just lay your lips to his. He then takes the lead because he doesnât know whenâs the next time this will ever happen. He wants to make the most of this. Head titled, he licks your bottom lip to get an entry and caressed his tongue with your own. His hand creeps behind your neck and you had no choice but to move forward close up on him.
The butterflies werenât in your stomach this time, it was in your womanhood and you felt excited, even though this wasnât your plan. He lets you go with a sensual snack and youâre breathing heavy. His eyes were low with swollen lips and it made you want to kiss him again.
You donât even know what to say, so you two look at each other for a minute. You turn to sit down on his bed and look at the floor. You felt the bed dip beside you and glance over and heâs still looking at you, searching your face for something.
He opens his mouth to say something but a door closing catches both of your attention. He goes out to greet his father, who just came home from work. While heâs gone for that duration, you feel your bottom lip with your tongue and realize you can still taste him. You just simply canât believe that just happened.
You get your school work in order and focus back into the academic mission that was originally supposed to transpire. You donât even know if you can focus again.
âThat was my dad.â he tells you.
You nod your head in acknowledgment.
âCan weâŠfinish up?â you ask timidly.
He sits now and actually lets you take the lead in showing him how to solve the problems. There was a sense of tension but you pushed past it to finish. When you two are finished, itâs nighttime and you know you have to head home soon.
âAlright, hopefully you got the hang of it.â you say as youâre stuffing your belongings back into your backpack.
âI need your number in case I need your help again.â he boldly says. Your hands start to get shaky again. You didnât know whether or not you wanted this to be a frequent thing. Your thoughts stop when he extends his phone for you to enter your number. You take it hesitantly and enter it and give it back to him.
You two make your way downstairs and Paulâs dad is sitting in his designated chair watching whatever is on the television.
You two greet each other and he just puts an arm around your shoulder to steer you out. You surprisingly like this gesture and you wish it could be like this forever. You two get settled in a car and before silence takes over he speaks.
âI want to take you out.â
âOh..where?â
He chuckles as if it were an inside joke, âI mean.. How should I say this?â he thinks for a moment. The ticking of the turning signal fills the air. âI want to always do what we did. I like it. And I like you.â
You donât trust your voice, you donât even know what to say, so you just nod.
Your house comes into view and he says, âIâll pick you up tomorrow morning okay?â
âOkay. Thanks again.â You opened the door and before you lift yourself out of the seat, you turn to him and say, âI thinkâŠI like you too.â you say.
He gives you a smile that lets you know he is satisfied with your answer.
As you lie in bed, you were right. Thatâs all you kept thinking about. It got to the point where the night felt like it was dragging on. All you wanted to do was sleep it off but it seemed impossible. Every time you closed your eyes it seemed like you were reliving it over and over again. Your mind started to travel to different directions, thinking of what would happen if you two kept going and didnât stop. All of the tossing and turning made your pillow warm and flipped it over to retry sleep.
The next day, you were a bit tired from getting only 4 hours of sleep. You tried not to think too much of your outfit, even though you couldnât get out of your head of how he told you when you looked nice.
You said goodbye to the remaining people in your household who havenât left yet and made your way outside. He was there as promised, with the engine running. You get in and tell him good morning.
He greets you back but more importantly he leans over and kisses your cheek softly with so much affection it almost seemed out of place for his hard exterior. Your face feels hot and a small grin creeps your lips.
You two make small talk and then you start to yawn.
âTired?â he asks.
âYeah.â you couldnât wait for the day to already be over so you can jump in your bed and take a nap.
âUp thinking about me?â he asks cockily.
You roll your eyes playfully and donât say anything. He just snickers at your reaction.
He pulls into the school lot and you already have your seatbelt unbuckled, he places a warm hand above your chest to hold you in place for a second.
âNot so fast.â he teases. You look at him in confusion and he makes it his duty to kiss you again. It was unexpected and it wasnât a quick peck. He held your chin with his index finger and thumb.
After he pulls away, with you trying to catch your breath, he walks over to your side on the car door and lets you out. You walk in stride with him and he has an arm resting around you, pulling you close. People look of course but with him, it doesnât feel embarrassing.
He walks you to your locker and patiently waits for you to put your belongings in there. He never brought a backpack. You donât know how he survived this long doing such thing.
Kim comes into view but slowly decrease her speed in walking when she sees whoâs with you.
âHey Y/N.â she says to you awkwardly.
You say hi to her as if it was the most normal day.
âIâll meet you in class.â she simply says and makes her way.
Paul walks you to where you needed to go.
Whenever youâre out of class, heâs right there. He holds onto you as if youâre going to run away if he lets go. Youâre so absorbed in his company that you donât even meet up with Kim and your other friends. You get your lunch together. He steers you to his table, not trying to repeat the same thing that happened the previous day.
Kim looks at you with a âwhat are you doingâ expression look on her face. You give her an apologetic look and Paul sit you down super close next to him. His friends sense the new company but they donât say anything out of line because Paul is giving them all a look that could kill. He keeps one hand placed on the outer side of your thigh.
He softly makes conversation with you. Each vibrational wave of his voice raising hairs on the back of your neck, suddenly paying attention how attractive his voice is.
In history class, heâs sleep as always.
The day is over and he doesnât even have to tell you that heâs driving you home. As the school is out of view, heâs not driving in the direction of your home.
âIâm tired, I want to take a nap.â you tell him, completely wiped from the school day. Mentally cursing yourself for not getting enough sleep.
âYou can sleep with me.â he says.
Youâre nervous again. Walking with him through his house and you sit on his bed while he changes out of his school clothes.
When he comes back in the room, he pulls his covers back and it looks enticing, looking like youâll get the best sleep of your life from it.
âCome on. I thought you were tired.â he says impatiently.
You take off your jacket and place it in the chair that itâs in room and lay on your side. He lays down after you and pulls you to him and kisses you once more. When heâs done, you turn to get some sleep and buries his face in the back of your neck and you two drift happily into slumber.

in this weekâs new episode of: valentino rossi committing psychological warfare on his own children
âWhat VR46 did in 2020 to tease and motivate their riders, because they know what to do in this situation and they do because they want to stay ahead, was to use Morbidelli as a mean. They told him (Pecco), this guy (Franco) is fighting for a championship while youâre down there in P15. Yes, you two both train together and you do good for three laps (or, youâre faster) but then you get tired, you get bored and then youâre out there partying, meanwhile that guy keeps working hard. And they threatened him, they told him, here we got respect for everyone, expect for the ones who donât even try to do their best. And thatâs when something clicked in Peccoâs brain.â

February 6th, 2005
Camilaâs Sunday had been a fairly uneventful day, having spent the majority of it on the couch with her mother. The two had spent their afternoon watching some of the movies they had recently unpacked from the move. Camila had been happy to spend some much needed quality time with her mother and even happier to spend that time avoiding the topic that had been weighing on the family heavily for the past week. In reality, she didnât actually know how many more good days with her mother she was going to get by the end of all of this, and she wanted to cherish whatever time she had left.Â
Her mother had just popped in the second tape for the movie Titanic when her father arrived home, arms full with two large pizza boxes as he dropped his things by the door. Camilaâs face blossomed into a bright smile. Regardless of her dwindling appetite, pizza would always be her favorite and she couldnât have thought of a more ideal evening with her parents. So the family sat together, watching as the movieâs plot took a rather unfortunate turn for disaster, eating their greasy pizza off of paper plates.Â
Of course, in the end, as it always happened, no matter how much Camila had hoped for a different outcome, the lovely Jack Dawson had frozen to death holding the hand of his lover and she was left to wonder if she would end up leaving Jasper in a similar state of despair when her time was up. Deep down she knew that his offer of eternity in his arms was growing more and more tempting and the likelihood of her ever leaving his side was dwindling as the days passed by. Her feelings for him were growing day by day as well and she was well past the point of no return she feared.Â
Being in love was a scary and vulnerable thing as it was, but given everything else about her situation, it was nothing less than terrifying, albeit a good kind of terrifying. Her thoughts had become an endless cycle of him, and she knew she was done for. The idea of being in love so quickly wouldâve made her scoff and roll her eyes previously, but now that she found herself very much in love with Jasper, she knew that what she had once thought was impossible was the truth.Â
The feelings she held in her heart for Jasper triumphed any idea of love she had previously held. She had never been one to believe in the foolish idea of love at first sight, but as she looked back at the moment she had met him she couldnât imagine anything closer to describe it as. She knew that if she already felt this strongly for him, that her feelings would only grow to an incomprehensible intensity with time.
It was after the sun had set when he had come knocking on her window, giving the glass a light tap with his knuckles as a warning before he entered through the opening into her bedroom. She had given him a small tired smile, gesturing for him to join her on the bed. He moved forward, sinking into his usual spot as she took hers with her head on his chest, letting out a sigh of contentment.Â
âHow was the game?â She asked, bringing her hand up to lay on the soft cotton of his t-shirt.Â
Jasper smiled, wrapping an arm around her protectively. âIt was good, Patriots won.â He said simply, knowing she was just being polite in asking, having no interest in the game herself.Â
In all truth, he hadnât spent much of his time actually paying attention to the sport, his thoughts being rather caught up on the girl who was currently curled up against him. He tried his best to show interest as he knew that Emmet had been looking forward to it, but he couldnât help but be disappointed at his past self for promising to spend the day away from Camila. Of course, at the time he had no idea that he would be missing school the two days that followed, which had definitely added to the torture. Torture that was given brief recesses by his nightly visits.Â
âThatâs good, Iâm glad you enjoyed itâŠâ She said, trailing off into a yawn, covering her mouth with her palm. âIâm sorry, I promise youâre not boring me, Iâm just so exhausted.â She explained, slightly disappointed in herself as she had been looking forward to seeing him all day and knew that his presence would be missed at school the next morning.Â
He sighed, running his fingers delicately along her spine, raising goosebumps to the surface of her skin. âYou donât need to apologize Darlinâ, sleep.â He said, laying a kiss on her head as he breathed in the comforting scent of her.Â
âYou wonât be bored?â She asked, looking up at him through her lashes as she attempted to fight the sleep off.Â
Jasper smiled lightly. âIs it creepy if I said that I actually enjoy watching you sleep?â He asked, arching a curious brow at her.Â
Camila snickered softly. âA little bit.â She admitted cheekily.Â
Jasperâs chest shook with a slight chuckle at her bluntness. âI canât help it, you just look so peaceful.â He explained, giving her a bright smile, teeth shining in the moonlight.Â
Camila lifted her head slightly, getting a better look of the beautiful smile he had been graciously sharing with her. âDo you ever miss being able to sleep?â She asked, curiosity coursing through her.Â
He looked up in though for a moment, eyes coming back, meeting her own as he gave his answer. âSometimes. Itâs been so long, so I donât really know what Iâm missing out on I suppose.â He admitted, his cool fingers lifting to brush the hair from her face. He leaned forwards slightly, pressing his lips lightly to hers in a soft kiss, breaking away with a grin as he listened to her heart rate pick up from the touch. âStop stalling, sleep.â He urged.Â
Camila groaned, rolling her eyes playfully as she lowered her head back to his chest. âFine.â She muttered, letting her eyes flutter closed.Â
Jasperâs eyes lingered on her sleeping frame as he concentrated on the beating of her heart. Her tank top hung loosely on her frail shoulders, her chest slowly rising and falling as she sucked in the deep breaths of sleep.Â
The burn in his throat persisted, Camilaâs parentsâ blood pumping heavily through their veins in such close proximity. Although he knew that his thirst hadnât wavered, being so near the humans had grown easier to manage over time. Easier to let his mind wander on thoughts of Camila rather than thoughts of bloodlust. It was times like these that he missed being able to sleep, wanting nothing more than to hold her in his arms and be able to dream of her.Â
So, instead he spent this time day dreaming of her. Day dreaming of the future they may one day have with each other. Thoughts of being able to not only drape his arm around her body, but truly hold her. He knew that he was getting carried away, but he couldnât help it. He couldnât help it that when he pictured his future, she was always there at his side, or rather she was there in the forefront, his future itself.
ââââââ
February 7th, 2005
Camila awoke in the morning to her mother gently shaking her. Vaguely, she remembered, a half asleep goodbye from Jasper, followed by a soft peck to her forehead that must have happened only minutes before. A frown settled on her face, not yet mentally prepared to face the day without her favorite person by her side. She knew she would see him later, that much he had assured her, but that didnât stop her from dreading spending the next two school days without him in attendance.Â
She was however, looking forward to seeing Angela once more, slightly giddy at the fact that she would be able to tell her that Jasper was now officially her boyfriend. She had refrained from telling her mother of this, knowing that it would only raise questions, besides, her mother knew her too well, and the last thing she really needed was a confirmation.Â
So she had begrudgingly pulled herself out of bed and into the shower. The cool stream of water stifled the heat of her skin as the stream ran down her spine. Gravity weighed down on her bones, a deep ache radiating through her body. She would be sure to take her meds today, knowing that the pain would only intensify as the hours went on. Although she hated to rely on the pills, she knew that it was necessary, especially given the fact that Jasper would not be there to help distract her.Â
The ride to Forks High School was rather quiet, the air around her and her mother filled with soft crunching of Camilaâs protein bar. She forced herself to swallow the unsavory food, knowing that she needed the nutrients, regardless of how much she hated the aftertaste. When the van finally came to a stop in front of the dreary building. She quickly stuffed the remainder of her breakfast in her mouth, grabbing her bottle of water as she mumbled something resembling a goodbye to her mother, giving a quick side hug to the woman.Â
The fluorescent lit hallways were filled with cheerful chatter, no doubt a side effect of the irregularly sunny day. The ring of the bell rang shrilly signaling the time for first period, and she was surprisingly happy to sit down in the class. The teacher quickly gave them work to do in pairs and she was thankful to be able to speak to the girl without risking getting in trouble for talking in class.Â
âSooooâŠâ She drew out dramatically, gaining the attention of the girl sitting next to her. Angela looked to her, eyes peering over the rim of her glasses quizzically. âJasper may or may not officially be my boyfriend now.â She informed, watching as a giant smile formed on the girlâs lips in response.Â
âOh my god. I knew it!â She squealed in delight, teeth shining in the fluorescent lighting. âTell me more, Iâm begging.â She said, dramatically clutching her hands together as she pushed her bottom lip out in a pout.Â
Camila smiled lightly, a bright blush covering her cheeks as she thought of what to tell the girl that wouldnât give too much away. âI met his parents this weekend.â She said, opting to add Carlisle in on the meeting as she shouldnât have had any reason to have met him previously.
Angelaâs eyes widened dramatically. âWoah, thatâs kinda serious, huh?â She asked, wiggling her eyebrows playfully.Â
The heat burned red hot on her face as Camila looked down at the workbook in front of her bashfully. âKinda, yeah.â She muttered, smile unwavering from her lips.Â
âSo theyâre ridiculously attractive too, right?â Angela asked, nudging the girlâs shoulder.Â
Camila snickered lightly. âOf course.â She admitted.Â
Angela perked up in her seat. âSo, does this mean that heâs going to take you to prom now?â She asked expectantly, grinning from ear to ear.Â
Camilaâs smile dropped slightly, forcing herself to not let it falter completely. âNo.â She said simply, watching as Angela gave an indignant pout. âWe already had plans to spend time with each other, and Iâm not much of a prom kind of girl I guess.â She explained feebly, hoping the girl would except her answer without much fuss.
Angela sighed disappointedly. âFine.â She grumbled.
âBut donât worry.â Camila chirped. âI promise to help find the best dress for you.â She said, smiling brightly. Angelaâs lips quirked up in answer, happy to hear the words, and conversation quickly changed topic to getting their work done, neither of the two wanting to have to take the work home to do that night instead.Â

Jasperâs day had drug on at a ridiculously slow pace, the absence of Camila glaringly obvious as he attempted feebly to read one of the books off of his shelves. His eyes scanned the pages, knowing deep down that it was of no use. He wasnât actually absorbing any of the information, as his mind was clearly elsewhere. He wondered, as he recalled the time before he had met Camila, which in reality had only been a short time ago, how he had occupied his time like this. It now all seemed so monotonous, the same books over and over again, growing bored quickly of them, regardless of how much he had previously cared for the stories. He knew them all by heart by now and he made a mental note to try and get some new book recommendations later from Camila.
Once again, his mind had quickly returned to thoughts of the girl. Shocker. How was he expected to have to do this whole thing again just a day later. It was already torture enough as it was. At least, he reminded himself, that he would have the night that he would be able to see her, even if it was just to be in her company as she slept. It surprised him that such a thing didnât bore him, although he did understand the appeal. The feel of her warm skin against his own cool body, the steady beat of her heart in his ears, everything was a reminder that, at least for now, she was alive and with him. While at the moment, being away from her felt like nothing but a waste of their time.Â
Jasper looked over to the clock on the wall for what had to be the thousandth time that day. She would be leaving school now, just that much closer to when he would be able to see her. He would have to wait until the sun set of course. His family were supposed to be out of town camping, so he knew he couldnât risk anybody seeing him, regardless of if he were to be seen in direct sunlight or not.Â
It was days like this that made him question the humans in the townâs intelligence, them all seeming to except their rather lousy excuse for missing school fairly easily. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that most people viewed them as outcasts already, but really, what parent would agree to pull their kids out from school just because it happened to be a sunny day? He supposed he should be grateful for their ignorance, but at the moment, all he could do was stare impatiently at the pages of his book, willing time to somehow go by faster.Â
After an agonizing wait in which felt like eternity, the sun had finally set, and in a blink of an eye, he had fled the glass house, determined to make this the fastest run of his life. As the small pale yellow house came into view, he felt like he could breath again. In truth, he hadnât noticed the weight on his chest until it had lifted. Unlike their usual routine, when Jasper rounded the corner, he could see her, sitting at the open window, gazing out at the night sky. When her eyes finally met his own, a small smile spread across her face.
âI got overheated.â She explained, stepping back from the open window to allow him inside. It was the truth, one of the many side effects of her illness had caused her to have hot flashes and she had awoken in a particularly bad one at that, but she would be lying if she had said it was the only reason she had been staring out into the wilderness that night. She hadnât realized just how difficult it would be for her to miss Jasperâs company that day, having already had a drastically decreased amount of time with him that weekend, and she had been counting down the minutes until sunset.Â
Jasper smiled, pulling her into his cool chest, knowing that the temperature difference would help sooth her without the risk of catching a cold from the chilled February night air. Her face nuzzled into the icy fabric of his clothing, sighing as she allowed herself the comfort of his embrace. All too soon, Jasper parted ways, only to shut the window and drag her to her bed to get comfortable, pulling her back into himself.Â
âHow was school?â He asked, muttering the words into her hair as he rested his head atop hers.Â
She groaned out a dramatic sound. âHorrible.â She said bluntly, earning a laugh from the golden haired vampire.Â
He rolled his eyes playfully at her words. âIt couldnât have been that bad, could it?â He asked.Â
Camila lifted her body, coming to a seat next to him as he wrapped his arm securely around her waist. âYes actually.â She stated matter of factly. She thought for a moment, looking for the right words that wouldnât make it seem like his absence alone had completely ruined her day. âIt was nice to see Angela and Bella, but Tyler wouldnât leave me alone.â She groaned out.Â
Camila had been lucky to avoid Tyler for the most part, but unfortunately, he had of course taken notice of Jasperâs absence and had decided that it was the best time to try and be friends again. Much to her annoyance, he had talked her ear off during lunch and only continued to do so on their way to biology class. All of the talking had created a particularly horrible headache behind her brow and she begged whatever higher power there was that he would shut up for once in his life.Â
She internally scolded herself for being continuously friendly to him, but realistically, it wasnât like she could just turn around and be an ass to him when he hadnât actually done anything wrong since he had apologized. Unfortunately for herself, she had convinced herself to be as kind as possible to everybody unless given a reason not to be. The reality of it was that she didnât have the time nor energy to be unkind, something the she was starting to question was showing to be true in this case.
By the time their calculous class came around, she was for once happy to have silence. Although she would have much preferred to have Jasperâs company, she was glad to have peace and quiet for the first time that day. She had never been so thankful that they had assigned seats and Tyler was stuck far away from her, finally giving her space to breath. Her head had continued to pound relentlessly as she counted down the minutes until she would be able to return home, take her meds, and sleep off the migraine. A sleep that she had just recently woken from.
Tyler. The boys name had caused Jasperâs body to stiffen. He knew it wasnât his right to be bothered by him, but in all truth he couldnât stand the boy. Maybe it was mostly jealousy, but he had jus rubbed him the wrong way from the beginning. âHe wouldnât shut up, and Iâm not trying to be rude, but we arenât even really friends and he was giving me a headache.â She admitted, a grimace casted on her face.Â
Jasper laughed lightly, relieved that the boy hadnât gone and upset her with his words yet again. âOnly one more day, and weâll be back. I promise to scare him off.â He joked, a smirk unwavering on his lips.Â
Camila threw her head back in a groan as she pouted her lips childishly, Jasper desperately wanting to kiss the pout away. âI donât know if Iâll make it.â She said dramatically.
Jasper leaned forwards, bringing his lips to hers, deciding to not hold back any longer as he gave her a light kiss upon her lips. She smiled into his touch, the playful pout melting instantly as she molded her mouth to his. He pulled away, not allowing the kiss to last too long. He gave her a sheepish smile before speaking. âIf it makes you feel any better, I was almost bored to death without you.â He admitted.Â
Camila smiled lightly, glad to know that the âtortureâ was not one sided. One more day and he would be back, she could do it, right? âIâm almost tempted to skip tomorrow.â She admitted. âBut I promised Angela that I would go prom dress shopping with her in Port Angeles after school, so I canât really act sick for half the day very easily.â She continued.Â
Jasper quirked an eyebrow at his girlfriend. âAre we going to prom?â He asked confused. He had been sure the event had been off of the table given her physical limitations, but now he wasnât so sure. Perhaps she had changed her mind now that they were dating. Maybe it was him who dropped the ball when he hadnât asked to make sure his theory was correct.
She shook her head. âNo, defiantly not. Even if I could go, I donât think Iâd want to. Iâd rather just spend time alone with you.â She admitted, allowing Jasper to let out an internal sigh of relief. âI just promised to help her find a dress is all.â She said.Â
He nodded his head in understanding, ignoring the lump in his throat. He wasnât sure why, but for some reason, the idea of her being out in the city without him made a chill go up his spine, even if the reality of it was impossible. Realistically what could go wrong? She would be out with friends and she would be able to sit the majority of the time. Regardless, he couldnât shake the feeling of something bad happening. âText me if you need me to pick you up early.â He said, receiving a gracious nod from her in response.Â
He tried his best to shake his unease as he sat with her, holding her, and allowing the touch of her blazing skin on his own to calm the racing thoughts in his mind. He changed the subject, remembering to ask for book recommendations as he attempted to steer his mind from the unnecessary panic that refused to leave.Â
ââââââ
February 8th, 2005
Camila had never wished more to take her jacket off, the heat of the day causing a sheen of sweet to cover her forehead, despite the temperature not being above seventy. Of course, the entire school had decided to sit outdoors, given the âbeautifulâ weather, and the long sleeves that she wore were beginning to stick to her skin. She wondered briefly if it was worth it to try and cover the bruises with makeup rather than the extra layer of fabric.Â
Her thoughts halted as she realized that this solution would only end up solving one of her two issues. Her bones would still continue to protrude from her muscles, something that was sure to only get worse as she grew sicker and sicker. The last thing she needed was people growing concerned of her health in any way shape or form.Â
She shook the thoughts from her head, looking up from the unappetizing food to Bella who was sat opposite on the picnic table. The girlâs eyes wandered around at the crowd of students gathered in the unusual sunny grounds, seemingly anxious about something. âHeâs not here.â Jessica spoke from her spot atop the table where she perched soaking in the rays of sunshine. Bella looked up, slightly embarrassed that she had been caught looking for him. âWhenever the weatherâs nice, the Cullens disappear.â She explained, eyes closed as her face tilted up towards they sky.Â
Bella looked to her, slightly confused. âWhat, do they just ditch?â She asked curiously.
âNo, Dr. and Mrs. Cullen yank them out for, like hiking and camping and stuff.â Jessica explained. Camila hummed, a small smirk forming on her lips. Was this really the excuse they had come up with? It was kind of lame is she was being honest. Very vague at lease, but did she really expect anything else at this point? âI tried that out on my parents. Not even close.â Jessica continued, earning a snicker from Camila.
Angela rushed towards the group, her long brunette hair falling over her shoulders as she settled into a spot next to Bella. âBella, are you sure you have to go out of town for prom? Camila isnât going either. Itâs going to be lonely without you guys.â She said, giving a dramatic pout.Â
Bella grimaced at the question, seemingly just as perturbed as anytime Camila had been asked about the topic. âOh, yeah, itâs a little family thing.â She explained dismissively. She turned to Camila, arching an eyebrow at the girl. âYouâre not going?â She asked, surprised by the fact that she had not been the only one in the small town that hadnât wished to attend the event.Â
âWhat? Couldnât find a date?â Jessica asked, attempting to pass the snide remark off as a playful joke. Camilaâs face dropped, giving her a slight glare not allowing the girlâs comment to pass without a reaction from her.Â
Angela perked up, wanting to defend her new friend. âActually, her and Jasper are dating, but apparently neither of them wanted to go, so they made other plans.â She said, smiling as she gave Camila a teasing glance, causing a blush to creep up to her cheeks. Of course, anytime anyone mentioned him, she had to blush like a little girl with a crush. Honestly, who was she kidding? She wasnât any better than that anyway.Â
Jessica grimaced at the information, muttering something about Jasper âbeing even more of a weirdo than Aliceâ, earning an even more intense glare from Camila. âOkay, are we still good to go shopping in Port Angeles? I want to go before all the good dresses get cleaned out.â She asked Angela, deflecting the negative attention from the girl beside her.Â
Angela nodded enthusiastically, smiling at Camila as she nodded as well. A shrill bell rang throughout the courtyard, signaling the end of the lunch period. Camila stood, grabbing her lunch tray from the table, attempting to hide how little she had eaten from the greasy array of food with her crumpled up napkin.Â
Bella hesitated as the students began to head inside for the next half of classes for the day. âPort Angeles? You mind if I come?â Bella asked.
âYeah, I need your opinion.â Angela said, grinning widely. Camila sighed, happy that she would have another friend there as a buffer between her and Jessica. It was no secret that the two didnât like each other. Jessica clearly didnât like to be talked back to in any sense of the phrase, and Camila wasnât one to just sit there and take her bullying lightly. The two were bound to butt heads, but luckily she would have Angela and Bella there to lighten the blow of the inevitable disagreements that were to come.
ââââââ
âI like this one, but, like I donât know about the whole one shoulder thing.â Jessica said, holding the pink spaghetti strap dress in front of her body in the mirror to get a good look at herself. Angela nodded saying something about how the color looked good against her skin.Â
Angela held up a dress of her own. âI like this one. What do you think?â She asked Camila expectantly, a bright look in her eye.Â
Camila smiles taking in the sight before her, trying her best not to grimace as the headache pounding behind her temple got worse. âYeah, I like the beading, and you wouldnât need jewelry.â She argued, giving her best effort in sounding like she was interested and not like she was in a lot of pain. She pulled at the collar of her shirt, a cold sweat covering her forehead. Great, another hot flash, just what she needed.
They had been in the same dress shop from what seemed like hours and had barely gotten anywhere when it came to actually finding dressed for the two girls in front if her. Of course, within that time, her pain meds had completely worn off and the ache in her bones was beginning to rival the pounding in her head.
Angela turned. âJess, what do you think? Lavender?â She asked the girl, gesturing to dress she was currently wearing. âIs that good? Is that my color?â She continued, fidgeting with the fabric that clung to her body.Â
âI like it.â Jessica said quickly. âI like that dusty rose one, too.â She said, turning back to the mirror to admire her own reflection. âOkay, I like this one. It makes my boobs look good.â She said, flipping her hair over her shoulder.Â
Knocking on the glass of the window behind her, Camila turned to see a group of four men passing by, all ogling over the girls in the shop before them. âNice!â One of them yelled, loud enough for the group of girls to hear them through the glass. Camila grimaced lightly at the interaction.
Jessica scoffed, clearly flattered given the wide grin on her face. âThat is uncomfortable.â She said, voice trailing off.Â
âThatâs disgusting.â Bella muttered, looking down at the book in her hands, earning an absent minded nod from Camila.Â
Jessica perked up once more. âBella, what do you think?â She asked.Â
Bella looked up, finally giving the two dresses attention as her eyes left the pages of her book. âThat looks great.â She said dismissively.
âYou said that about, like, the last five dresses, though.â She said, smile dropping slightly as she twirled her hair around her finger.Â
Bella smiled bashfully. âI thought they were all pretty good.â She said, laughing lightly.Â
Angela looked towards the two girls sitting on the cushioned bench. âYou guys arenât really into this are you?â She asked frowning.Â
Camilaâs smile dropped, feeling bad that she wasnât giving Angela the experience she had been looking for. She was trying to sounds enthusiastic, but if she was being honest, she really didnât care about the dresses at all. All she had wanted was to spend some time with friends outside of school, but now, with the music playing throughout the store, the bright lights, and the hundreds of questions about her opinion of the different dresses they had tried on over the past hour, she was just tired and overstimulated. The pounding of her temples proved that she couldnât take it much longer.Â
âI actually really just want to go to this bookstore.â Bella admitted, giving an apologetic smile. âIâll meet you guys at the restaurant?â She suggested.
Camilaâs ears perked up at this, a perfect excuse to finally leave this god forsaken dress shop. âDo you mind if I come with? I could use some fresh air.â She asked, knowing she would most likely regret it soon, needing to walk to the book shop, but not being able to help herself. If she was being honest, she was almost certain that if she stayed in this shop one more minute her head might explode. Bella nodded, grabbing her coat before leading the way to the door outside.Â
Camila let out a sigh of relief as the cool air hit her face, glad to finally be free of the stuffy environment of the shop. Pain ricocheted up her legs as her steps landed on the pavement, attempting to give the pain little thought as she was just glad to have some quiet and cool air on her skin. It frustrated her to no end of course that she was incapable of doing such a simple thing as going shopping with friends, but she would be lying if she said that she hadnât thought something like this was likely to happen. She would, however, enjoy it while it lasted, knowing she wouldnât even have the opportunity to do so for much longer.
It was moments like this that made her happy that Bella was a particularly quiet person, and if she was being honest, she quite enjoyed the girls silent company. Her migraine was finally starting to subside as the small book shop came into view. Camila gave Bella a soft smile as she opted to stay outside in the cool air. She checked behind her, to make sure the girl had entered the shop before tearing the long sleeved zip-up hoodie from her frail arms, letting a sigh of relief leave her lips as the cool wind hit her blazing skin.Â
She looked down at the pale skin the stretched loosely across her arms, the area scattered with varying shades of bruises. She knew she would only have a moment of sweet relief before Bella returned, so she closed her eyes and chose to savor the time she had been allowed. Her eyes opened, gazing out at the sunset before her. She hadnât actually realized how late it had gotten and internally scolded herself for the missed time she would end up having with Jasper that night.Â
She sucked in a deep breath, taking note of how her chest tightened uncomfortably. Dr Cullen had warned her of the discomfort that breathing would soon bring, but as prepared as she thought she was, she knew that the inevitable struggle would not be anything she could ever be truly prepared for. She knew that this was just the beginning of how horrible it would end up feeling for her. The reality of dying would one day end up being too much for her to handle.Â
She wondered for a moment if taking the opportunity that Jasper had offered when the time came would make her brave or a coward. What in the end would be the easy solution? Dying and leaving him, or living and leaving everyone else she loved? In that moment, she wasnât sure, but she did know what her heart yearned for. The image of his amber eyes flooded her thoughts, the idea of him alone, calming her unsteady breaths.Â
A soft bell jingled behind her, pulling her from her wandering thoughts as she quickly pulled the fabric back up her arms and onto her shoulders. She turned taking in the site of Bella walking towards her holding a small book in her hand. âReady?â She asked, gesturing with a nod to the road ahead. Camila nodded, giving a small smile as they started the trek back to where the restaurant was.
Their shoes thudded against the sidewalk as they walked in silence, a fog starting to settle in around them. They turned, cutting in between two buildings, taking the same route back that they had taken to get there. Suddenly, it became glaringly obvious the stark difference between the alley during the day and at night, and just as suddenly, Camila felt a chill run up her spine. Not the same chill she would get when Jasper touched her, but an eery chill.Â
Stood there on the other side of the ally was the group of men who had passed by at the dress shop, looking much more menacing under the dim glow of the street lights. One of the men had just spotted them and had turned in his tracks to move towards them, the rest of the men following his lead. Camila grabbed Bellaâs arm, turning back around before swiftly retracing their steps onto the trail they had just taken.Â
They were now in a much bigger clearing, although just as deserted, and Camila chastised her self mentally for letting her pain and jumbled thoughts cloud her judgement. She wasnât stupid, but god did she feel like she was in that moment. If she had been paying more attention she wouldâve noticed the time of day or even the lack of people on their walk to the book store.Â
Footsteps echoed throughout the air, the men no doubt following them further into the clearing. âSaw you in the dress store.â One of the men called out loudly. Camila forced her eyes to remain ahead, as if ignoring the men would make them disappear. Â
âHey, where are you running to?â Another yelled. Camilaâs heart began to race, hearing the thudding in her ears, breath becoming shallow and quick, her lungs tightening with every gasp for air.Â
Blinking rapidly, trying to calm her heart and her mind as the panic set it, three more men came into view on the other end of the lot. âWhat up? Itâs my girls.â One said, his eyes meeting hers as the other three coming in closer. A menacing smirk coated his face as she tired to look anywhere but into his dark terrifying eyes.Â
One man from behind called out to another. âHow you guys doing? Look who we just found.âÂ
Camilaâs hand tightened around Bellaâs arm, attempting to ground herself in the moment and not settle into a full blown panic attack.Â
âWhatâs up, girls?â
âHey, where are you going?â
âWhere are you going?â
âCome get a drink with us.â
âYeah, you should hang out with us, come on.â
âItâs fun.â Â
âWhatâs the problem?â âYouâre pretty.â
Voices called out around them as the men got closer and closer starting to cage them in and breaking them apart from each other. Fuck. This couldnât be happening. The one time she went out with friends, and this happens? Really? Panic was really starting to set in as her mind began to wander further. It was one thing for this to happen to her, I mean her life was about to end anyway, but Bella too? She had her whole life ahead of her.Â
âDonât touch me.â Bella snapped, pulling her arm from one of the men harshly.Â
The voices continued to ramble around them. Sadness bloomed in her chest as reality sunk in. Unless a miracle happened soon, they would likely end up dead by the end of this and despite having thought that she was prepared for death, she couldnât get Jasperâs face out of her mind. Maybe she wasnât as ready for the end as she had thought. The thought of leaving Jasper was what hurt the most, leaving a gaping hole in her heart. Maybe she was a coward, maybe not, in that moment she didnât care. All she cared about was him.
Darkness started to encroach her vision, seeping in from all sides. Her body started to feel heavy, pain shooting up her arm as one of the men grabbed harshly at her, his fingers digging into her flesh. She was certain she would faint soon when all of a sudden, the screeching of tires against the pavement behind her cut through her jumbled thoughts.Â
She turned her head feebly, a silver Volvo whipping around the corner, causing the men to jump back. Wait a second. She knew that car. Edward, thank god. She thought, relief flooding her veins. She had been sure that they were goners, destined to end up on some Dateline or CSI episode.Â
The car jerked to a stop, Edward popping out of the driver seat, quickly followed by Jasper from the passenger seat. âGet in the car.â Edward instructed Bella.Â
Jasper rushed to Camilaâs side, wrapping his arm tightly around her waist as he allowed her to rest her bodyweight on him, leading her to the back seat of the car. He sat her against the leather seats, pulling back to look her in the eyes.Â
Camila took in the view of his face, his hand coming up to brush her cheek gently. âAre you okay?â He asked, concern filling his voice. She nodded in response, letting out a deep shaky breath she didnât know she had been holding. Relief flooded through her. She wasnât going to die tonight. Jasper had saved her. Tears pricked her eyes as she pulled him towards her by the collar of his shirt into her open arms.Â
She wrapped them tightly around his neck, breathing in his scent. âThank you.â She whispered, her breath catching in her throat as she tried to blink back the tears.Â
Jasper willed himself to pull away from her grip, pressing his lips to hers fiercely before pulling away quicker than he would have liked as he backed up further onto the pavement. âIâll be right back, stay here.â He instructed, forcing his eyes to leave hers as he stepped away.Â
Jasper stood to his full height, closing the door of the vehicle behind him, turning to look at the group of men before him. White hot anger ripped through his chest as he assessed the men. He wanted to kill them. To rip them to shreds for even thinking about doing anything to her. The truth was, if Edward hadnât convinced Jasper to come along on a trip to watch over Camila and Bella then they would have gone through with the unspeakable.Â
Edward had seen what one of the men was thinking. Had seen that he had done this sort of thing to other women before. Had seen that he would do it again given the chance. Jasper squared his shoulders pushing his power out from himself. Pushing fear into the minds of the men before him. Unspeakable fear that would never leave them, never completely. A waking nightmare that would terrify them to their last days, because as much as he wanted to physically hurt them, he knew that he couldnât. Not with Camila so close and already afraid. This would be the next best thing. This would have to suffice. This would have to tame the beast inside of him.
Their faces morphed into looks of terror and Jasper watched, only slightly satisfied as he watched them scramble away as quickly as their feet would take them. Wishing that he couldâve somehow inflicted more terror on the men.
Jasper turned back to the car, rushing to get inside as Edward closed the driver side door. He joined Camila in the back seat, pulling her towards him and wrapping her into his grasp as Edward sped away from the scene. Camila shook in his arms, the reality of everything that had just happened lingering in the air around them. Vaguely, Jasper could hear the voices of Edward and Bella in the front of the vehicle, although he paid them no mind. All that mattered to him in that moment was Camila.Â
He had known deep down that something would happen, he didnât however think it would have ever been something like this. Something like a group of revolting men attempting to take her away from him. His jaw clenched at the mere thought of it, the idea infuriating him to no end.Â
But what enraged him the most was the terror radiating off of Camila. The terror that those vile men inflicted on her. He realized that it was slightly hypocritical to think of these men as monsters while he sat there, knowing of his own past, knowing of the blood on his hands, but he knew he would never even think of doing such a thing to a woman.Â
The fact that these men had been about to do such unspeakable things to anyone was bad enough, but to her? The fire in his chest burned hotter as he imagined what he wouldâve done to the men had it not been for Camilaâs presence. Vivid images overtook his mind. Ripping. Tearing. Blood. Mangled bodies littering the ground. For a moment, he imagined indulging himself on that blood, feasting on the terrible men and for the first time in so long, truly satisfying his eternal thirst.Â
âJasper.â Edward hissed through his teeth. Jasperâs eyes shot up to meet his brotherâs in the rear view mirror, seeing his seething glare. He realized in that moment that his vivid mental imagery probably wasnât helping Edward deal with his own fury over the situation.Â
Jasper sucked in a breath that his lungs didnât need. âSorry.â He muttered in reply, turning his attention back to the girl in his arms. She gave no sign of fright, her expression completely blank as she looked ahead in a daze, but her body continued to shake ever so slightly. Jasper felt the fear, radiating outwards from her and focused his power on trying to sooth her. Her body relaxed in his arms, letting out a sigh as she buried her face in his neck, breathing in the musky scent of him.Â
âThank you.â She muttered into his skin. She wasnât exactly sure what she was thanking him for, whether it be saving her, or helping calm her down, or both even, but she thanked him nonetheless. Regardless of itsâ origin, she needed her gratitude for him to be known.Â
Time moved quickly in a blur around her as the car suddenly came to a halt. She looked up, realizing that Edward had parked the car, seeming to have driven to the restaurant that they had planned on meeting Angela and Jessica at. Camilaâs eyes flickered up to Jasperâ face in question. âWe should get you something to eat.â He said softly, brushing a strand of hair out of her face.
Her eyes bore into his pleadingly. âCan we please stay in the car? Iâll eat when I get home, promise.â She begged, wanting the privacy that the restaurant would not be able to provide. In truth, she hadnât wanted to leave his arms, his comforting embrace being one of the only things in that moment keeping her grounded. The security of his strong arms around her made her feel safe, made her feel like she was home. In reality, that is what he had become to her, her home.Â
Jasper paused for a moment, contemplating their options before nodding. Bella was sure to have many questions and this was definitely not the time for anything resembling a double date.Â
Soon, the two were alone the radio playing softly in the background of their silence. âIâm sorry.â Camila muttered quietly, breaking the comfortable silence.Â
Jasperâs head turned, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. âWhat do you have to be sorry for?â He asked, grabbing her chin to turn her head to force her eyes to his own.Â
She sucked in a shaky breath, âI wasnât thinking when I left with Bella or I wouldâve convinced her to stay with Jessica and Angela. I had headache and needed some fresh air and-â She rambled on.
âYou donât have anything to apologize for.â He interrupted, having not had the patience to listen to her attempt to punish herself further. âIt is not your fault that there are horrible people in the world.â He assured her, resting his forehead on hers.Â
Camila closed her eyes, focusing on the feel of Jasperâs skin against her own. She was beyond lucky and she knew it. Lucky that Edward and Jasper were there, listening, paying attention to make sure that Bella and her were safe. She would have thanked him again if it werenât for his persistence that it wasnât her fault. Camila knew that it was though, knew that she should have been thinking more clearly, should have been more aware.Â
So, instead of thanking him once more verbally, she leaned forward to plant a kiss to his lips. She leaned fervently into the touch, pouring every ounce of emotion into the kiss as possible, her lips moving in sync with his own. In that moment she knew. Knew that this was the cowardâs way out. Choosing Jasper was most definitely the easier of her two options. Living her life with him, grasping at their forever had to be the cowardly choice, because the other option seemed so much more torturous.Â

I like the design of those italian mega prestige books that are publishing the recolored editions of some classic stories, so I imagined them for the american market.
(All of the books I imagined feature more than one story, unlike the italian books)

A neat little thing that I love from movie 4 (Captured in Her Eyes): in Tropical Land, Conanâs outfit echoing Shinichiâs iconic outfit.
This is The Outfit. Everyone who knows DetCo, Knows It, Remembers It.
And I love how Conanâs outfit has the same colours and casual, cozy feel of it. From the light blue of his shorts, through the yellow-green combo with the blue accent of his top (EVEN THE ORANGE APPEARS ON HIS SKATEBOARD!!!), to his iconic red sneakers!
The movie starts and ends in Tropical Land, and I absolutely adore how you can visually see the connection through his outfit.

This is the Spanish version of the karaoke night page! Not much is different, but I find it really funny that Ford's writing is actually readable here. he was fuckin GONEEE in the English version đ
Translation:
"I probably shouldn't be writing this, but I had a very weird? Well, it was a night! And now it's day? Cill Bipher. He did a dream? Karaoke? And afterwards one thing led to another, and normally I try to be sober, but...he mixed a dream drink and??? I should say it. I just should say it. Look it's just me and my journal here. I should say: this guy, Bill, he really has it all figured out. Also the rats were his idea? I get it now. I'm gonna, we're gonna, what times. What a hangover. I'm gonna sleep. All day. Can I get one where Paul imprinted on the hottest girl on the rez and all the pack had crushed on her at one point in their lives so when they are all out patrolling Paul keeps thinking back to when he and the reader slept together the pack canât get that image out of their heads so when they are with their own imprints during their sexual activities they accidentally say readers name when they finish and the imprints get mad thinking something is going on kinda like that episode
yes! this honestly seems so juicy to write đ hope you enjoy :)
rewind - paul x reader
Admiring from a far, each pack member imagined what it would be like if you said yes. They looked forward to seeing you around the rez. You knew them kind of well from growing up together. Annoyance was there when you knew the inevitable question would come, âCan I take you out?â
Everyone was turned down. One after the next. It was confusing because it was rare for a very pretty girl to be single. You didnât care about being in a relationship. You wanted to focus on your future. Something needed to stick out to you for you to gravitate towards it.
With rejection targeting all of his pack brothers, Paul for the first time was nervous about asking out a girl. After he shifted, he saw you walking with a friend in the city and bam! He felt like he could take the word into the palm of his hands and own it. He wanted to own it with you. You seen him around, but never struck up a conversation with him.
In a way, you thought he was a bit interesting. His eyes enchanted yours and you found yourself finding it hard to look away. You had to though, in order to cross the street.
The pack didnât believe him when he told them he imprinted on you. Waving it off and saying, âSheâll shoot you down too.â
He knew they were just jealous. He watched slowly but surely as his pack brothers were getting entangled in their imprintâs lives.
He felt like he could do a thousand backflips when you agreed to let him treat you out to ice cream. You didnât know that one yes could change the trajectory of your life. One hangout turned into many. Soon, you both were joined at the hip. You both didnât need to breathe in oxygen. You had each other. The kisses were sweet, the touches were comforting, and the moments never seemed to be enough.
Breathy pants of Paulâs name escapes your lips over and over. Dancing with stars was the best description to match the feeling you both felt. Hovering over him, he was able to possessively cup your breast as you bounced on him. Reaching your peak, Paul watched as you went silent and arched your back as you faced the ceiling with your eyes closed, trembling.
âJesus..â Jared comments.
A growl erupts deep in Paulâs animalistic mind and leaks out of his throat. He totally forgot he was on patrol. He couldnât help it. You drove him wild. He was counting down the very second he was able to go back to you.
âThanks. Iâll never get it out of my head.â Quil says, almost not sorry for admitting the excitement he felt.
Paul predatorily creeps towards him, âI have an idea on how to get it out for you.â
âThatâs enough.â Sam orders, knowing Paul will actually attack him to make him forget.
âYou all need to mind your business.â Paul says to the others.
âI still canât believe you were able to score her. You really are the spiritâs favorite.â Jacob says. He was tired of the same sexual positions that his imprint was comfortable with.
âI swear Kim only gets on top every once in a blue moon.â Jared says.
âDidnât ask.â Paul says and think of blankness for the rest of patrol.
Emily was happy to see just Sam come through the door. Usually a pile of boys would be behind him.
âThey wanted to go home.â Sam explains when he noticed Emilyâs puzzled expression. He knew the reason why. She nods and smiled and pulls him close to her. His intrusive thought of what he saw during patrol made him feel aroused. He tried to shake it. Finally having alone time, the bed rocked to the rhythm that Sam pumped into Emily. Her brain was mush and she was loving every second. Her rolling hips reminded him of how you bucked at Paul. Feeling the tingling of climax approaching, he pumps faster, only to whisper your name as he rides out his orgasm. He hopes that it was quiet enough for it to miss Emilyâs ears. Emily rewinded what he said as he moved to the bathroom to clean up. She felt some type of way. Hurt even.
Jared had to coerce and coerce Kim to be on top this time. The memory of what he saw in his pack brotherâs mind, made him really want Kim to do it. âI donât know what Iâm doing.â she shyly says. Jared caress the sides of her skin giving her a content smile. âJust move in the direction it feels good.â he coaches and helps give her the start of the rocking motion. A special spot hits her and she gets the hang of it soon enough. Her face slightly titled up and eyelids hung low, Jaredâs mind rewinded the image of the same position he saw on patrol. Bucking his hips, he closed his eyes trying to focus on just Kim and just Kim only. Instead, the picture of your puffy and puckered breasts moving up and down was alone with him. At the height of Kimâs note of her orgasmic moan, he moaned at the same time as her, calling your name. He didnât think she heard, her voice was louder than his. Kim noticed because she actually liked on top this time, she was left wondering if Jared didnât like it. Another girl was on his mind.
Laying on his back, waiting for his imprint to come into the bedroom for bed, Jacob stared at the ceiling. He tried to make it through the seconds that passed him to not go back to the imagery of you in the bedroom. He was happy with who he was with. He just wanted a switch up every once in a while. Coming in, slowly becoming shy as Jacob pulls her to him, she runs her fingers through his hair. He kisses her with love and while she was still on top of him, he rocks his hips a bit even though she still had clothing on. Gladly, she responds with the roll her hips, getting comfortable with position. Jacob takes his sweet time, it was a blessing for her but it was a curse to him. Trying his best to focus on the girl removing her top, he rewinded on the moment of your orgasmic face. He wanted to make his imprint make the same face. For the heck of it, his imprint rode him without wanting to go safe. She was shy at first but Jacobâs grunts and groans motivated her to keep going. Watching him squeeze his eyes shut, she felt really good. At her peak, she heard a groaned out trail of your name leave his lips. She didnât want her tears to show until she leaves out to turn on the shower.
A three way communication was involving the three imprints. One vented to the other of what happened in bed. They came to the same conclusion and let the other know, only to find out theyâre all victims. Wondering on what to do, Kim couldnât help but speak her census.
âY/N definitely has something to do with thisâ
Emily didnât want to believe it but in her mind, there was no other reason why Sam would say your name.
âIâll invite her over. If sheâs around the boys they will either stick up for her or vise versaâ
Waiting on your arrival, you were stalling to leave Paul. He was like a magnet. He promised to pick you up soon.
Arriving was normal for you. For the other three girls, not so much. You joined them at the table and is surprised that none of them got up to hug you like they always did.
âWe wonât be mad, but whatâs going on with you and the boys?â Kim starts off. She didnât want to do small talk. This was no manner.
âThe boys? UmâŠitâs been a while since Iâve seen all of them. But as far as I know, nothing.â you say trying to bring a resolution.
âHave you seen Jared?â Kim asked.
âNo. Why is he missing?â you ask worriedly now.
âNo, heâs not missingâŠif youâre leading him on then itâs not a good idea.â Kim says getting agitated. Emily touches her arm.
You get confused and thrown for a loop. âMe, leading them on? What are you talking about?â you say.
âOur three imprints said your name.â Jacobâs imprint speaks up to say.
âWhat?!â and then you laugh. You actually think itâs a joke. âOkay, you got me. That was a good one.â
Their furious expressions donât change and you notice, your smile starting to deflate.
âI really hope youâre not serious.â You say trying to piece everything together.
âWeâre not joking.â Emily says.
âIâm sorry, but thatâs their problem. I havenât done anything for them to do that. Why would they do that?â You ask and ask the last question really wanting to know.
You pull out your phone, feeling uncomfortable. Kim starts to say and points her finger at you accusingly, âThatâs so fucked up. They wouldnât just do that if you didnât do anything.â
You let your finger press on Paulâs contact, turning your head to Kim. âYou need to ask them. Not me.â you hiss to them and Paul picks up. You ask him to pick you up but Kim interrupts, âYou might need to ask her if sheâs doing anything with your pack brothers.â
âWhat?â Paul says on the other line.
âThey think Iâm the reason why their imprints fantasize about me.â You say in disbelief, tears trying to prickle your eyes. You didnât like being accused of such thing.
âY/N, put me on speaker.â He says to you and you press it.
He calls out for the angry imprintsâ attention. Once he knows that theyâre actually listening to him on the phone in the middle of the table, he speaks out about what happened on patrol.
You had no knowledge of this and put your face in your hands. All you could think about that the boys saw that moment. The looks of the imprints changes from viciousness to great compassions.
They all make an effort to hug you right after Paul hangs up, feeling guilty for jumping to conclusions. The apologies were sincere and promised to never make such thing tear you guys apart. Now united, you all now think of a plan to make them feel what you all felt.

The Strange Encounter
Paring: Embry Call x Reader!
Here is the link to part 2.
This is my first time writing a fan fic. If you guys like it let me know! I'm going to post part 2 very soon! Hope you enjoy :)
No warnings
Summary: You recently moved back to Forks after not being in the town since you were eight. When your old friend Jacob Black asks you to come to a party down at La Push you accept. What's the worst that could happen?
It was a calm and cool fall day in Forks. You are helping your mom at the bookstore she owns. As you stock the shelves you look out the window and see a group of guys around your age walking. You recognize one of the faces "Oh my god, Mom is that Jacob Black?" you ask in shock. Your Mom comes over to you with a confused look on her face "Oh wow, yes it is honey" Your mom pauses for a moment and smiles "Well hasn't he grown" You look at her, she has a smug smile on her face "I almost didn't recognize him, he chopped all his hair off" you point out. "why don't you go out and say hello" your mom says with a grin. "I haven't seen him since I was 8 mom, he probably doesn't even recognize me, and take that smile off your face he definitely is not my type," you say as you both laugh, your mom walks away as you continue to stare out the window for a moment noticing a cute boy standing next to Jacob. You used to live in Forks when you were young and just recently moved back but you didn't have many friends besides Jacob, so you still consider yourself the new girl in town.
As you finish cleaning up the store you look down at your watch 6:00pm. "Oh shit, I gotta get going," you say to yourself. You grab your bag and your keys and lock up the store. From the distance you can hear a group of people laughing and talking loudly, you look up and see Jacob and his friends walking down the street coming towards you. You turn and start walking to your car not wanting to run into them, you aren't sure if Jacob remembers you and you can't decide if that's a good or a bad thing yet. As you are walking you hear your name being called 'Y/N?" you hear from behind you "shit" you think to yourself. You slowly turn around and see Jacob running up to you he has a big smile on his face and his thoughts are confirmed when you turn around "I knew it! I saw your mom coming out of the bookstore earlier and recognized her immediately, when did you get back in town?" he says with the smile still on his face you can see his friends in the distance talking amongst themselves, "Jacob, wow so good to see you" you say with an awkward smile "We moved back about a week ago, I figured your dad would have told you I'm pretty sure my dad and yours caught up a few days ago" you say with a bit of confusion "Yeah my dad and I haven't been talking much recently" Jacob says making the mood shift " Anyways your mom opened up a bookstore, that's so cool" He says obviously trying to change the topic "Yeah its always been a dream of hers so it's pretty nice we finally get to do it" you say smiling "Thats great, I'm really glad your back in town, hey my friends and I are planning on going down to La Push to have a bonfire, do you want to come? Maybe we can catch up?" he says looking at you eagerly. you hesitate for a moment thinking it over "Uh, yeah sure that sounds like fun" you say with a small smile "Great, come at any time we're heading out there in an hour" He says excitedly "Okay, I'll see you there" you say turning around and getting in your car not noticing the eyes on you as you drove away.
You're in your room getting ready, it's a chilly night so you throw on some jeans and a long-sleeved shirt with a zip-up jacket. After you finish getting ready you grab your keys and hop in your car. When you arrive at La Push you see the big fire in the sand and tons of people surrounding it. "Woah, I didn't think it would be that many people" you mumble to yourself, regretting saying yes. You get out of your car and see Jacob approaching "Hey! Glad you could make it, follow me" he says and you start walking together. He introduces you to a few people and you start talking with a guy named Quil, as you guys are talking another guy comes up to you. You realize it is the guy you saw earlier, as you make eye contact his face goes from smiling to completely awestruck. You stand there confused as he just stares at you for a moment before excusing himself and basically speed-walking to the house away from everyone. You turn and look at Quil confused "What's his problem" you ask genuinely Quil looks at you and tells you he will be right back before turning and walking to the house. You look around and lock eyes with Jacob, he walks over "What happened?" he asks me confused "I don't know, Quil and I were talking and then one of your friends walked up not even saying anything, and then ran to the house" a look of understanding crosses Jacobs face " I will be right back I promise" it seems like hours but it's more like a few minutes of sitting on one of the rocks watching the fire burn as everyone else is drinking and having a good time. You were about to stand and leave when Jacob came up to you "Hey, I'm sorry about that. He's just a little drunk don't worry about it. Everything is all good" Jacob says but you can tell something is off. Jacob still has the same lying face as he did when you were eight so you aren't easily convinced but decide to let it go. You and Jacob sit in awkward silence for a while until Quil comes back. "Hey, what are you guys talking about" Quil says in a much too cheery mood considering what just happened, "Nothing much, we're just enjoying the scenery" Jacob responds obviously trying to make it seem as though this isn't the weirdest interaction in the world. Out of the corner of your eye, you see someone walking up to you and turn your head, it is the same guy. "Hey guys" the man speaks to Jacob and Quil seeming perfectly fine now, with not even a hint of awkwardness, again acting like nothing happened. Suddenly, he turned to face you "I'm sorry about earlier, I don't know what got into me," he said a bit shy " I'm Embry, what's your name?" there was a spark in his eye as he spoke to you, like he already knew the answer, like he knew everything about you, like it was his life mission just to speak to you. "Don't worry about it, it happens," you say politely "My name is Y/N" his eyes perk up a bit at that. You don't know who he is and why he's acting so strangely but damn is he hot. Without your knowledge, Quil and Jacob left as you and Embry were talking. Now you were stuck, not that you minded having to talk to Embry, but something about him seemed off. "So I heard you just moved back here from (insert city/state name)?" Embry questioned "Yeah, My mom got her own bookstore and my dad got a new job that allows him to work from home so we decided to come back," you say as both of you start walking to a more secluded area of the beach "Are you happy to be back?" he says with a bit of hesitation, he's not trying to push any boundaries, it seems like he genuinely wants to get to know you "Yeah I'm pretty happy about it, I've always loved cold and rainy weather," you say making Embry laugh a bit "What?" you say looking at him with suspicion but a hint of amusement on your face "Nothing, nothing it's just not every day you hear someone actually enjoying that type of weather, it's my favorite too" he says blushing a bit as we come to a stop near the ocean. We've walked pretty far and we can only see the smoke from the fire rising above the rocks. "Y/N I need to tell you something," Embry says nervously.
