Anyways this game has completely taken over my brain so expect more art soon ^-^

Names have power some names destiny can’t let turn into myths

I am in a mood so legend gets it again

Fanfic prompt :

We have no idea where cadence of Hyrule fits in timeline wise as it potentially can be whatever

But since link is a toon in that one I kinda want him to be a lil teen still when it happened

So I had this very horrifying thought

Since link can die literally endlessly

What if he can’t truly age as well like every few decades he will come back being a lil guy and it will literally not stop

Any death brings him back to being a lil teen a few years short of his age during linked universe

Be it a quick death or a very slow one

Even dying from old age won’t be his end

But that gets even more horrifying when we consider that the theory of which link is in link between worlds

Because the Zelda from the original games canonically has a different appearance

But the Zelda in link between worlds also looks different initially which made many people wonder what timeline this games belong in

So what if link to the past along with oracle of seasons and link between worlds have literal decades between eachother

Because that way the Zelda kidnappings will not even be ridiculous

Like link to the past was one Zelda

The final oracle game Zelda was a descendant of the other who was kidnapped much later

and link between worlds was the descendant of the descendant

And fable is actually the great granddaughter of the first Zelda that legend met

(If we go with the legend is related to Zelda theory it gets even worse because that is his great grand niece.. the angst)

And he is centuries old and Ravio had no clue that he moved in with a centuries old being

Because that would be hilarious if Ravio is like 20 at most while legend barely remembers the joy of being just twenty

A romance between them would literally be both the worst most painful thing because legend knows Ravio will leave as well one day

And they will never truly grow old together and he will just be alone again after a few decades

And the most bitter sweet thing in existence

As legend cherishes every moment he has with the people he still has left knowing that hylia will never let him leave this earth

He once wished to end his life because after Marin he thought he deserved to join the women he killed

Only to realize living on without this closure was the punishment he so desperately sought for

To live on and on knowing that he will never get to explain himself to all the people he lost

His uncle he will never get to tell how he felt

Marin he could never hope to explain why he killed her or even apologize to her for that

Zelda and her little girl are long gone he cannot tell them how much he loves their little girl how much he wants to protect the newest Zelda just as he protected all the others before her

Din and her troupe , Nayru , Ralph , styla and his fellow heroes from hytopia are long dead and….

He is the only one still there all alone

And that way all the Zelda re designs would make a tragic amount of sense like all of them being different people reminding him of his sister

Fable knowing that her great grand uncle has been hanging around since her birth and therefore relying on him despite not truly knowing him because he keeps a distance she tries to break so much

Ravio who has such happy memories who knows that his life with link is very very short, knowing that one day he will die as well yet link will never follow he will wait for all eternity but his husband will never come join him

The chain who eventually became more people legend loves so dearly who legend grew to love he knows that some he will never see because they are in different timelines.

Yet he has his very vast memories of all those people

Remembering fighting time and Wild for the title old man (he unfortunately didn’t win)

Remembering teasing twilight , skyand warriors (and totally losing half the time)

Remembering when wind wanted to sail with him claiming they were pirates together

Remembering so much fun and excitement

hoping that he will meet hyrule some day if he just keeps living on (knowing he has no real choice)

That there is one thing worth looking out for when he already lost so much over and over…

Yet hyrule never fell like rulie said it will instead of it falling down , somehow it persisted

And he met a new descendant the granddaughter of fable's

For all his hope of meeting hyrule ,he met echo instead

And a new adventure began for him once again

But for all his hopes where crushed he at least know that at least in this timeline another boy wouldn’t have to fight his battle

For as often as he fell in battle

Hylia brought him back to keep fighting them

His battles will not fall on another child this time

For he was the hero of legends

And legends never die

Quell: “subdue or silence or suppress”. Link was quelled to let Zelda have her time to shine.

Hush: Link is quiet, hushed, while Zelda is the louder, echoing hero in this story.

Whisker: “Whisker—oh! I mean Whisper.” Well now they’re calling him Whisker. (Whisper accidentally says his nickname too softly. The Chain mishear Whisker and it sticks. Plus he has cats in his Hyrule again!)

The worst (funniest) way for the rest of the group to find out about the Four Sword:

Echo (EoW Zelda) falls through what she thinks is a rift and runs into the Chain. She immediately thinks these are all bad-quality echoes of her Link (“Don’t play dumb you all look like him! … kinda!”) and, in a panic, echoes the first Link she can reach to defend her.

Wild: Did you just copy Four?!

Echo: -standing behind her Four echo staring at all the “fake Links”- Don’t act like you haven’t copied Link too!

Four: That’s isn’t how it works! They’re not copies they’re aspects of my personality—oh crap.

All About Echo!

Hey Linked Universe fandom! As a companion post to All About Rift, here’s a fact sheet about our newest Zelda to aid in all your headcanoning, writing, and art-making!

SPOILERS AHEAD!

-She’s the people’s princess. Everyone around Castle Town is familiar with her, and young children even beg her to play. This indicates an unusually close and informal relationship between royalty and subjects, which likely means that the royal family rules over a prosperous and happy little kingdom. A king facing unrest is not one who’d let his daughter mingle so freely with the populace.

-Her primary caregiver is Impa, an elderly nursemaid. Impa is fiercely protective of her charge and helps Zelda escape from the castle when the impostor king locks her up.

-She has a great relationship with her dad. The King of Hyrule is worried sick about his daughter when she’s missing and obviously very relieved to find that she’s okay at the beginning of the game. He pushes her out of the way to protect her from the rift in the throne room. Once the rift in the castle is closed, he tells her how proud he is of her for saving both him and her people.

-She doesn’t get out much. The other geopolitical leaders in Hyrule do not recognize her on sight and don’t even realize who she is when she gives her name (though some comment that her name sounds familiar). This probably means that she has never traveled on official business and also never been introduced to visiting dignitaries. She has likely lived a sheltered life and never been further away from home than Castle Town.

-She hasn’t been trained in any sort of combat. The only thing she’s able to do against monsters on her own is throw things at them (though there is a late-game knockback item you can get that allows Zelda shoulder-check enemies with a spin). Otherwise she has to use the Tri Rod to summon echoes to fight enemies, or else undergo a magical transformation into a Link-like specter to use his weapons.

-She’s good at puzzles. The game is full of them, and many are rather complex!

-She’s very feminine. Most of the outfits you get in game are dresses, and Zelda’s bedroom includes a dressing table with makeup and perfume. She loves to accessorize with her magical items. Increasing the number of accessories you can wear is something you do by asking the Great Fairy to make you “more stylish.”

-She’s an excellent swimmer. Swimming in the game requires no special item (you can do it right away), and has no stamina drain so swimming long distances is a piece of cake. Plus, you can dive down deep and pop back up to the surface easily.

-Certified horse girl! She has a rather sizable figurine or plushie of a horse in her bedroom, and Impa has been secretly raising a horse for her at Hyrule Ranch, which she gets to ride for the first time in-game.

-Certified cat lady! She has a pet cat in her room too. It’s a long-haired, cream colored one. When you speak to it using the magical “talk to cats” outfit you can obtain in game, the cat tells Zelda that it’s keeping watch over her room while she’s out adventuring.

-Certified plant mom! There’s a very large potted plant/tree in her room that takes up an entire corner.

-She loves her friends. At the end of the game, she’s very saddened by Tri’s departure, to the point of being unable to compose herself in front of a crowd of people upon returning to Castle Town. She later frames the Tri Rod in her room to commemorate her time with Tri.

I was thinking, even though I haven't finished EoW yet, that it would be really terrible if Aurora(AoL) and Echo(EoW) were the same people. like maybe the rifts fucked up hyrule so bad after she finished her adventure and maybe smth happened either years after or just as her journey ended that sent her into that slumber. Maybe the two are connected

Just think of the ANGST

Especially if Echo joins the chain or smth and Hyrule sees her and realizes that she is Aurora. Or they go to his hyrule and meet Dawn + Aurora

I've actually seen a couple other ppl post abt shit like this, with Aurora and Echo, and i finally felt compelled to yell my own thoughts out (which aren't much but who cares)

Legend as echoes of wisdom link lol but confusing

Fanfic prompt : after Linked universe he decided to go visit Nayru and the other oracles again and then seeing the harp of ages

Realized how he can help Hyrule

Because if the harp can let him travel back several centuries then why not go forward

Because that way he can stop ganon from being revived and Hyrule can maybe travel back with him

He and then travels forward in time and then tries to orientate himself about where the hell he even is… then he sees the riffs through time and assumes that dark link has to learn his lesson again and goes in

He doesn’t appreciate the void for taking his voice… he kind of needs it to figure out where the heck Hyrule is because this one certainly looks too colorful to be the same one Hyrule is from… at least not in the next decades or so

Forests still need to grow after all but good for him that he succeeded eventually

Then he meets lueberry and they figure something out to go create the sword out off the crystal Legend dragged out of ,… hell he supposes

The cloak is cool though

So legend goes beefing with the random copies… so unoriginal of dink to go around and summon even more black blooded monsters or something

Well at least he now has the ability to use gps to find out where the next portal appears

And at some point finds out this Hyrule's Zelda is kidnapped and it sucks but maybe a new link will spawn or something

Then he and ganon get to beef ,,and surprisingly ganon remembers him (talking about the importance of friendship lol )

He then gets sent back to the void but manages to free the new Zelda

Then he at some point finds a random ugly ball thing… man, dink really down graded

He finds it with the club he found chases after it then goes and blocks it before the new Zelda …Nelda can go get kidnapped again

Then legend gets Zelded and now knows how much it must have sucked for fable and Nelda

…he only wanted to go visit Hyrule why must it always be an adventure

He will blame him for it later

He also gets the triforce of courage back while Zelded

Then Nelda is back…but it’s two Neldas now

He then gets freed by one after …she copies (?) a bunch of .. beds (?) and kills the other one

Well , let’s hope it’s the good one who kills the other one he always had problems with Hilda

Then he fights an eldritch abomination and uses the ..prime energy (?) to go restore Hyrule

And his voice is back so the first thing he does is ask , “hey , what’s the date and where the fuck am I .?”

He is surprised when the king turns out not to be an asshole

And fucks off into the RIGHT time promising everyone to stay in contact via the post man

Hyrule wakes up to “I fought the embodiment of nothingness and got vored to visit you be fucking grateful”

He is more confused than he was happy about his brother's return

So some of these go with my Link headcanons, but here goes:

Sun: Doves are associated with holiness, peace, and sacrifice. Sun is NOT a fighter. She doesn't help you in the final battle. We love her anyway.

Dot: Fireflies are a little bug, but makes flashes of light (Light Force!) and is in general the cutest beetle. Goes with my “Four is an iridescent beetle” headcanon.

Lullaby: Pumas are silent and graceful, like Sheik. Plus a baby puma is cute and seems harmless, like little Lullaby, who was plotting to stop Ganondorf even as a child.

Dusk: Vipers don't just attack willy nilly. They wait till the right moment then strike. Dusk doesn't do much till the end, but then she brings the heat. Plus, the game notably has a friendly snake spirit.

Artemis: Another silent and speedy hunter, plus associated with a goddess of war! She also can be Sheik so she deserves something elegant.

Tetra: Beautiful, strong, and works best with a pod/crew. Could obliterate you, but she often seems to be saving people in spite of her title.

Fable: This one was the toughest, but cranes are associated with the moon, like rabbits, and wishes and myths. Also I seem to like making them birds.

Aurora: Sleeby. But also, since I’ve seen people headcanon she is Echo, she’s spent time talking to cats.

If Echo is her own Zelda, she would be a bat, because echolocation is too good a pun to pass up (plus Keese were my favorite echo to use and their wings look like a cloak)

Dawn: When you're a baby, ducks are like. the first animal you learn. And Dawn is technically the first Zelda ever made. Plus, cute. My excuse for all of these is "cute" actually. Ducks can also be protective of their nests and I imagine that though she’s softer than other Zeldas she’s still protective of Hyrule.

Flora: "Hey Link eat this!!!". She’s also the second most energetic Zelda (after Dot), and was good at bouncing place to place to avoid Link before they became friends. And a blue frog is cute, sue me.
