Hello! Someone genuinely trying to understand and perhaps unlearn some reactionary tendencies. With the response to that anon about "not asking if you're a pro or anti", the response about "imagine if they put this much effort into protecting real kids" definitely got me thinking. So... Is an adult shipping children and finding that hot NEVER a red flag? Or is it case by case on seeing how that person handles the distinction between fiction and reality in other things? And bringing the issue of real kids into it, if a real kid who has been abused sees someone shipping kids and finds that a red flag in that person, that... No, no I juicy answered my own question on that one. Block them and cultivate your own experience.

I will start by saying this right out of the gate: fundamentally, I do not really give a shit about what made up scenarios about fictional characters people are jorking it to in private. I am, first and foremost, interested in how they are interacting with actual, real people.

I want to be so clear about this: you can genuinely think whatever vile things you want about fictional characters. you can enjoy any problematic shit you want with little guys who don't actually exist.

like, here's an example I use a lot: I'm kind of a huge Batman fan. don't know if you could tell that or not, I'm pretty subtle about it. if you spend any time in the Batman mythos, you know that this is a story where you just kind of have to take for granted that our hero is a billionaire using his vast wealth to dispatch vigilante justice with military grade weaponry and a small army of child soldiers and cop friends to help him put people in prison. these are moral quandaries that are discussed and acknowledged within the story, but fundamentally the universe is always going to involve billionaire vigilantism and child soldiers and the so-called carceral justice system. that's just the price of admission if you're gonna read Batman.

and like. I spend a lot of time in that world. I love Batman, I love his child soldiers. he's my little blorbo or whatever. but like, at no point have I said "yeah, fuck it, preteens should be learning martial arts to fight domestic terrorists, actually. I think Elon Musk SHOULD be allowed to put on a fursuit and beat up criminals. cops need more funding." no amount of Batman comics can make me believe or act on any of those things because, you know, I'm a person with a brain and I know the difference between "thing that makes a good story" and "thing that should actually happen for real."

and the thing is that genuinely, honestly, if someone thought that it was a red flag that I like Batman, and that enjoying Batman comics was somehow a red flag indicating that I'm fine with violence being done against real, actual children? I would think that person was a nut, if I can be super real. like, I'm thinking about somebody trying to make the case that I shouldn't be allowed to hang out with my nephew because I enjoy the fictional character of Robin so clearly I'm going to kill my nephew's parents in front of him to try to get him into vigilante justice. or if someone attempted to bar me from teaching my 4th-6th grade sex ed classes on the grounds that I was obviously going to teach them to do karate to clowns instead of how their reproductive systems worked.

(although, lets be real, there are a lot of politicians who would MUCH rather let little kids cage fight each other than learn anything about safer sex.)

this doesn't just apply to morally bad things, either, btw. I also read a lot of romance novels, especially hetero romances. and the thing is, not one of those books has made me want to fall in love with a ruggedly handsome but condescending straight man. hell, none of them have made me want to fall in love with anybody, period. that's not really something I'm interested in for myself, it's just a fun and frequently funny dynamic to explore. I'm hardly the first queer person to point out that the allegations that queer media "turns kids gay/trans" is obviously bullshit since the vertible mountain of cishet media evidently failed to turn any of us straight/cis, you know?

my point being: no, I genuinely don't think it's often, if ever, reasonable to judge someone's actual, real life morals by how they interact with fiction.

I'm going to say something so vulnerable right now, because we're in a safe space here: since you asked me this very reasonable question, you evidently value my judgment and perspective at least a little bit. and I once read and thoroughly enjoyed a fic in which Dr. Horrible, from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, gets fucked by a sapient evil horse. and I don't think that makes me a morally reprehensible person, or a person who advocates for real human beings having real sex with real horses. 1) I don't believe the phrase "oh no, he was just a child” has ever appeared on this blog (until now)

2) Draco has many flaws (which I personally think make him interesting) and which I've discussed many times but at least he did grow and change and regret his actions and unlike the Marauders he never stripped someone naked for sport and in fact lacks a true sadistic streak (which is a huge problem for him). The Marauders never seem to change or regret their behavior and also get a huge pass from the narrative unlike Draco whose bigoted attitudes and bullying behaviors are portrayed as wrong.

3) I have never in my life excused Snape for bullying children. That's just a strawman argument you are invoking to make yourself sound better.

4) hinny is canon...regrettably. I personally don't find unconvincing and poorly developed romance between characters who never have a meaningful conversation after they get together to be hot. But to each their own.

5) While I do read Harry as being attracted to men I don't see him as attracted to Ron. They are super good friends but nothing in the books to me indicates Harry would see Ron in a romantic light or would be likely to choose him as a romantic partner. If ginny and draco were out as options I think he'd go for Cedric.

Ya know there is something super wrong with my brain because I do like the idea of Joker managing to turn your Jason into his very owe Joker Junior. I think it's the psychological torture aspect of it all. Ruining Jason's perception of family as Harley and Joker play mommy and daddy with him. Idk if Harley would still be jealous of Jason or if she would roll with it because it made Joker happy.

Like hear me out on this, Joker forcing Jason to go from killing inmates to innocent people because he wants his sidekick to be just like him. The boy needs discipline? Rykter anon here (you can call me Shay!!) - this is gonna be long so i thought i would make a post instead of another ask! first let me say i am honestly a little starstruck that you answered my ask after following you for what feels like 10 years now. In the OG SKAM days, i was just one of the followers kinda watching your page from the sidelines and ghost-liking your posts. But in my eyes you really are just THE coolest niche internet fandom microcelebrity so this is huge for me lol. I’m honored to be the one to introduce you to the gem that is Rykter 🫡

I also binged the whole show after finding it a little over a week ago bc the short form episodes really did it for my ADHD brain. But when i finished it i RAN to the internet and was surprised when not that many people were talking about it!! Up until now i haven’t been the type of person to be the fandom historian OR better yet be this early to a fandom, but i knew i had to do justice for the other fans. so i recently started collecting S3 lore on reddit so it was all in one place. Again it’s only been a few days so i have a long way to go and i am learning new info by the minute. So if any @levok followers have contributions pls tap in and share them on any platform!! As far as the lore goes, i will summarize some of the most key things for you (imo).

SPOILER WARNING for those others out there reading this: 

1. Lots of the cast members have been “leaking” S3 content/spoilers on their socials, mainly on tiktok in “day in the life” videos. Most notably in all this, many of the cast members (primarily the guys) have been very jokingly affectionate with one another i’m assuming to throw off us fans about ships and who will get together

2. There are several new characters next season, notable ones include Øyvind and Olivia. I don’t know a whole lot about them as of now, but Øyvind’s actor (Fredrik Johnsen) posted a tiktok that included a clip with a visible episode script. I translated it (badly, as norsk is not my first language and the clip is low quality) but one section seems to indicate Felix and the guys dump a bowl of ice cream on Olivia in the cafeteria and spray her with hand sanitizer at some point. So expect some kind of conflict between them in S3

3. Olivia and Mathias were in some pictures on the account of the person who plays Mathias’s mom on instagram. One appears to show Mathias and his mom hugging, leading some of us to think Olivia may have a role in Mathias’ coming out? Rykter’s Eskild basically. If not that then just a cool new friendship to explore!

4. Teo Tomczuk (Mathias) did an interview recently where he said that in S3 we can expect “a lot of love, broken hearts. Many try lots of new things and find out who they are. Mostly they get to know themselves. Will be a lot of identity stuff!”. So fingers crossed our faves figure their stuff out and all signs point to a very (hopefully) queer season!

So, about Yamon. Long story short — Noname once for an intel came to rhe BBB but he can't show his face, so he putten on a mas. Yami was at the counter that day and little did he know before seeing this buffed, rough-voiced mysterious man what he'll fall head over heals. And that's the start of our story of lies and true love tied together.

Yami is a simp of a man and a clown of a creature because only clowns will smile like that on a daily basis and act the way Yami does (© me as Yami kin). They both genuinely hate each other but due to Yami being desperate for relationships and Anon desperate for intel (and his huge dick cus some of official art implies things especially when it's brightened up) they stuck. Also Yami refuses to acknowledge Morioh as anything but Anon which hints to how strong Yami's obsession with an image of Anon in his head is. In my presentation I even tried to apply some of syndromes to Yami's state. Let's talk first about what the project's about because we can't go to ship without knowing what's the deal.

Bloodbath bakery is a discounted as of 2023 free webtoon comic made by Stainedge [she/he] (animator, artist, comic writer) when she was still young and fresh. He goes by Stainedge in every social media aka YouTube, Instagram and Ko-fi. Right now Stain is busy with making first draft for a new comic Tomb's Serial Slashing and I like it too but my soul is sold to BBB. BBB is a horror&slasher, let's take a look at og annotation:

"A devilish killer and his three accomplices run a bakery in a small town named Guteyed and serve customers on the daily. Little do they know; the baked good contain a dark, terrifying secret. Only one question remains: What's eating you?"

Let's talk about our slashers first.

YAMI MORNINGSTAR

Demon and a boss of a bakery, born in 1692, is a special case in his family so has this black thing on his face and a creepy smile. Got bullied in school for being lil gay kid (Tho If I was there and knew in what kind of clown he'll grow up into I'll bully him to) and due to his family's ignorance went insane and killed his parents, that saw some demoness who's name we doesn't know but me and my friends call her Gothel cus she came with the "She knows the best" phase like yk Tangled reference. He murders humans and put them in his food, that's the whole point of his bakery.

I made a whole presentation about him so If you'll be interested I'll try to translate it to English.

FALINK&SUSIE O'NIEL

They're my parents, trust.

Susie and Falink met at their job in office, fell in love and got engaged, but Falink got worked to suicide by his boss so they never married. Susie went insane and murdered the boss, we don't know what happened in between but later she died in a fire. We also don't know how they met Yami, but we know what he returned them to life and than they finally married and live their happily ever after. Falink goes thru a lot of shit and Yami constantly bullies him + he has to be a co-manager while Susie just chills on full and bakes.

MELM

We know almost nothing about Melm despite her being one of the oldest characters. She's Yami's personal guard dog and also a cashier. Melm is very aggressive. We know nothing else.

Deep sigh i tried to keep it short but i think i failed. Putting it under the cut

Ok i'll give you the shortest answer i can. So first of all it was a metaphorical war, the executions are regarding social status. This being said, some students did commit suicide during the war, there's a memorial monument in the Yumenosaki schoolyard in their remembrance.

Ok, so what was the reason for the war? Reformation. Yumenosaki students, and the idol industry as a whole, had started going downhill, using the fame of the past but not putting in any effort in the present into their work. There are 2 characters who wished to change this, Eichi and Keito. You hear everyone talk about Eichi as the devil but if they dont mention Keito's role at all, instantly shows me they havent actually read the stories... anyway. So they both had the same goal (but different reasons, Eichi loved idols, and Keito, to my knowledge, wanted things to work according to meritocracy, for the people who are rewarded to put in effort. Im not a keitoP so if im wrong here please correct me)

Eichi is on and off in the hospital so the student council is actually started with Rei as the president. Keito first plans to get rid of delinquents in the vicinity of Yumenosaki but Rei doesnt see eye to eye with this and overall with the whole war plans, and eventually leaves.

Once Eichi becomes president, Keito takes the position of right hand man, and Tsumugi becomes Eichi's left hand man.

How are the 5 eccentrics involved? The plan was to single out (at first 3, then with Tsumugi's advice) 5 talented students, make them the poster children of Yumenosaki, then villainize them as natural born geniuses, monsters, who do whatever they want and are untouchable. The plan being to defeat them one by one, thus motivating the other students, giving them an underdog to root for and hope that they too can be heroes.

And as (ex) Fine(formed by tsumugi, eichi, hiyori, nagisa) gained popularity, they gained a huge following in the school, further antagonizing the 5 eccentrics. There are many things they implemented at the time like units and the dreamfes ranking system that were meant to give them an advantage and to kick the eccentrics down, but also to sort through the general student body and eliminate those who didnt put in effort and just expected to pass without trying.

Now a rundown of how the 5 eccentrics got executed. Kanata was, as you probably know, still worshipped as a living god at the time, but Keito helped dismantle the religion and after Kanata lost support on that front, Akatsuki had a live against Kanta and Chiaki, and won.

Rei was kept busy outside of the country by various factors, including Eichi's meddling with Yumenosaki's sister schools, and it's implied he never got an actual live showdown, he just wasnt there when it mattered.

Shu was humiliated in a live against Fine where the lights and music "malfunctioned" halfway through the performance. It's implied a Fine fan did it to ensure the unit's success, but it's debatable whether Eichi, Tsumugi or Keito had something to do with it directly, or they just knew something like this would happen and allowed it. Regardless, it led to Shu's breakdown and Nito leaving Valkyrie.

It's a bit unclear to me what Wataru was doing for most of the war, but he was kept as the last one to execute, partially because he would know to commit to the role and his fate as antagonist, and partially because Eichi was conflicted, not wanting to kill his idol yet. The last performance was a unit formed by Wataru and Hokuto vs (ex) Fine, who disbanded after that live. I think it's still unknown the exact details of how Wataru ended up joining current Fine (past the fact that he wanted to take Tsumugi's role of Eichi's clown and bluebird of happiness) and I really hope they'll expand on Wataru lore at some point.

Natsume was shielded by the other eccentrics and didn't actually get executed, he wanted them to get a happy ending but it was simply not how the story was supposed to go at the time. So after the war, he ended up joining Tsumugi in a unit based around giving people hope, wishing the war will never repeat itself, and wanting to restore the eccentrics' reputations.

There's also Leo's story in the war, who was used for his songs, but not loved for who he really is as a person. Eventually this loneliness, plus the guilt of knowing that by giving idols songs he's stomping down on their individual creativity, led to his breakdown and isolation.

I hope I managed to explain it well enough? I apologize if I got anything wrong, it's almost 1am and I'm quite tired, do let me know yall if i missed any key elements please.

This is for most of the anon questions I got! 

I actually haven’t considered that! Part of me wanted to say accents aren’t a thing in Unova, but then I remembered the infamous nugget bros...and their catchphrase “nuggetabout it!” It just makes me wish every single character in Unova was heavily accented in all variations. But to answer the question, I haven’t given it any thought at all so I can’t say! 

I’ve answered this before I think? But my point remains the same. My art of them features them exclusively in a platonic way!  However, I don’t mind the ships, and I don’t mind people seeing it in such a way. I get comments all the time where people joke about “Elesa and her two malethings + her gf Skyla” Hell even I joke about it sometimes. But it’s all in good fun.

I’ll be cynical for a second: From what I’ve noticed (this is a small observation, not a factoid) I think a lot of submas fans are new to Pokemon…so are maybe not used to gamefreak being huge disappointments yet. 😩 in my experience, they tend to drop lore or plot points and then ignore them for years.

Hahah, I haven’t really given it much thought, but I genuinely believe that three of them are some of the toughest trainers in Unova. I would say they got far enough to reach victory road. The twins’ talent speaks for themselves being battle facility bosses, but Elesa is nothing to sneeze at either. Since i like to HC them as childhood friends, it only feels fitting that Elesa was not only able to keep up with the twins, but probably bested them several times.

Maybe some daaaayyy….i love Adaman’s design (even if wayyy to many of the charcters are wayyy to pale eeergh)

Im always thinkin to myself i need to have comic ideas in order to draw certain characters. But I forget I can just … draw them……without giving them a reason to be. SO maybe someday haha! Im glad you like the way I drew him though lol!

It’s not so much that its canon (don’t believe much has been confirmed about them except they are clown inspired and have receding hairlines) but it’s apparent and obvious. I would dare say it’s not even debatable, but with these sort of headcanons, you have to consider that the people that feel strongly about it are more likely autistic themselves and therefore know more about the subject.

I recommend reading posts by @/1863-project! They go into detail about every detail and honestly it’s allowed me to learn a lot about how to write the characters!

I’m reminded of how passively Ingo handled Melli’s fuckery…his customer service voice fell back in time with him. It can be attributed to his politeness, but it certainly takes a great level of patience. So yeah, honestly, I think Ingo would never allow anyone to see him completely angry. Okay, so, with the caveat that these are fic I read and bookmarked this year, they haven't actually been written this year... also, I have a ton of fic I've read and loved--way more than 5--so you can always go into my bookmarks on ao3 and read what I've got in there, it would thrill me to know other people are reading the same fic I adored, lol... here are 5 fics I read: 1. Getting There by @mswhich (teen wolf, chris/derek)-Oh boy, this fic made my chest hurt in the best possible way. A meditation on grief after Allison dies where Chris is on a steep downward spiral and Derek takes care of him. It's so much more than that, but I don't want to ruin it. There's something so easy about the two of them in this fic, and it's a ship I'd never really considered before but this fic makes it work so beautifully that I'm sold. 2. The Standing Dead by standinginanicedress (teen wolf, sterek famous au)- techinically a duology, I know I'm late to the party on this writer, but I read all 244k of this series in one huge gulp. I couldn't put it down. I love angst and I love it unrelenting for 3/4th of the fic and that's what this is. The second one especially has some beautiful passages about the addiction recovery process that still haunt me to this day. I appreciate especially it wasn't afraid to show that recovery isn't a straight line, and in telling the story, showing their flaws and all, the writer made these characters *so* vivid and real. 3. a traditional courtship by helenish (x-man, charles/eric) Okay, so I REALLY don't go here. X-men isn't one of my fandoms but I was recced this fic because while abo isn't always my jam, I love it when writers play with societal elements in an abo universe and man oh man does THIS one do that. Eric is an alpha "passing" as omega, and it's just a really beautiful, 12k metaphor on identity and how people want to be perceieved by strangers and the ones they love. 4. A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood by gremble aka @abeautifulblog (Dream Daddy, dadsona/Robert Small) Okay so I really really REALLY don't go here. I don't play video games of any kind at all, I never have, but I fell into this beheamoth 112k fic and it absolutely lit my brain on fire. The writer offers a primer if you, like me, don't know a thing about this game that is super helpful. This fic has a fully fleshed out, realized world full of interesting, perfectly imperfect characters that were so much fun to follow. 5.the guard place by thirtysixhudson (gen, Good Place/ Old Guard crossover) It's the 528 words you never knew you needed until it's right in front of you. I fucking LOVE The Good Place and this mini fic made me laugh so hard. Jason Mendoza at his finest. +1 should i stay or should i go? by darkisrising (me!) (Stranger Things au, gen) This might be the first story I've ever written that made me laugh while I was writing it. These characters are all such clowns and such a joy to play with. Even though the fic didn't get a lot of traction I stand by it, dammit, lol. The premise: instead of chasing the otherworldly, the Stranger Things kids start a garage band. Steve is roped into being their ride to gigs.

Anon, what a lovely ask. No, I haven't ventured into fic writing. And this is in part due to my inability to cap myself words-wise. You've seen the lengths of my BBS posts, could you imagine how endless any fic with me attached would be? I'd be writing it for YEARS (nearly as long as Pran has loved Pat). Because you know it would be a chaptered fic, there's no way it wouldn't be. And knowing me, there would be prequels and sequels, too.😭😭😭

Secondly, and more importantly, fic writers have an insane amount of talent (and patience); they have my utmost respect for doing what they do. I would never consider myself anywhere near their league and that's not me being flippant, it's the honest truth. P'Aof has left a road map and made it easy for someone like me to follow his breadcrumbs and wax poetic on the show and his intent, but fic writers? They are in an entirely different REALM because they create ORIGINAL content, yes, AU based off of canon, but still orignally dreamed up from their BRAINS and that's just mind blowing to me. I could never do that.

That said, the closest that I've come to dabbling in fic-like writing was during that dubious time between EP11 and the finale. I had to find ways to distract myself from spiraling, so I wrote some crack predictions, which turned out to be completely wrong (HA!) but you're welcome to check them out. There are two and they're both based on my crazy belief that the show would include a fist bump in its closing hour. Sadly, I was a clown then and remain one now. Thanks for this ask, anon. I view the license plates of the cars they drive in as private information, so I would never pursue an answer to this question. Even if it was proved to be true, it's not significant to me. Cute, I guess? But not something I'd get very invested in.

I know I say that a lot - "I'm not very invested in it" - and maybe some of you get annoyed when I say that, or wonder what I mean.

What I mean by that is... a lot of turtles seek out signs and evidence that GGDD are together. That pursuit becomes a huge part of their experience of fandom, and it consumes a lot of their time and energy. When a proof seems real they get a huge endorphin rush, and when a candy is washed they plunge into anxiety and despair.

That's not at all how I live as a fan. I don't really seek that sort of thing out, I don't take much interest in it and I don't let it influence my day to day life. I don't make a lot of bluster about signs and candies.

It's not because I have some 'superior' way of being a fan or something. This just my own personal approach based on my personality and where I'm at as a fan. Some of that is because I already believe BJYXSZD (and therefore don't need proofs), but mostly it's just because I prefer to enjoy GGDD rather than ride a rollercoaster or 'build a case'. If candies come, they come. If they don't, that's OK too.

Most candies, even if they are real, don't really say anything about GGDD or their relationship. Like this license plate thing. What difference does it really make if they have personalized kadian license plates? Does it tell me anything interesting that I didn't already know? Not at all.

GG's choice to leave DD's name in his recent snacks video is infinitely more interesting to me. He would have had to have made a conscious choice to do so. He knew what was said because he reacted to it.

That tells me that he is willing to take some risks to show a connection with DD. It tells me that he's not trying to hide the fact that DD is a part of his life. It tells me that he's either getting more reckless or more bold, or both.

So when it comes to 'candy' or 'signs' I'm just more interested in things that give me new information or expand on or confirm what I already suspect. A license plate isn't interesting to me. It feels a bit stalkerish, and even if confirmed it really doesn't tell me anything new. I can look at their public posts for kadian without feeling like I'm invading their privacy.
