Truly the struggle of typesetting is real. I wanted to like this font so much. I typeset and did the little fixes to make the text flow as best as I can through the pages. Did another test print. Came across how the italics look in a sentence. Sucks so bad. Back to my beloved Merriweather.

1, 7, 19 + 29 for the ask game 🥰
I just posted 1. earlier—it's from What Happens in Vegas 😌
7. Your preferred writing fonts
Ohh, umm the font is called 'Literata'? It's just the standard font you get when you open a new doc on Ellipsus. I never change it or anything, so I'm just used to it now.
19. The most interesting topic you’ve researched for a fic?
Probably tattooing on EDS skin for ink & mistletoe, that was pretty interesting learning how the process works and how that differs for hyper-mobile people, along with some anecdotes from various tattoo artists?
Or swimming in general for In Too Deep—things like pool depth and buoyancy, what part they play in olympic level competition results, the speedo suit drama of the 2000's? All very interesting, haha.
29. How easy is it for you to come up with titles?
I hate it. Loathe it. It's the worst part and I think almost every author will agree. You either have it in your head before you start writing, or you can't come up with one at all 💀
Obviously What Happens in Vegas was super easy, because well...yeah. Fear & Flame was almost something like 'outnumbered' or 'inevitable', I hated ink & mistletoe, I just couldn't think of anything better. In Too Deep turned out well, though it was supposed to be 'Deep End', but I saw Ali Hazelwood's announcement about her book before I even got to posting it and figured it would be too cringe to use the same title haha. I try and go for song titles and things like that, but it's hard, I'm terrible at it! 💗

7. your preferred writing fonts
so, for a while i was really into crimson pro before switching to spectral! however i also write in ellipsus a lot, which doesn't allow for custom fonts, and there i use literata for text and sylexiad serif for headings. (can't find that one on google fonts, sorry xD)
12. a trope you’re really into right now
i'm currently 11k into a sladejay arranged marriage fic dfghjkl so that one definitely. i'm also always into omegaverse <3
15. favorite weather for writing
i'm not sure i have one 🤔

2, 7, 30 writer asks!
Hi friend! Thank you for the ask!
2. a character whose POV you’re currently exploring
I answered this once already, but let's pick a different one! I'm writing several things at once and on the backburner is a spooky Maedhros story about him not(?) finding Elurin and Elured. It won't be ready for Halloween, I don't think, but I have enjoyed this glimpse into his psyche right after the Second Kinslaying.
7. your preferred writing fonts
I'm obsessed with this question. I'm not sure I've ever noticed fonts outside of Scrivener. But I suppose I'll have to look. On Scrivener I use Literata which is a mostly free Google font - check the license part etc. For LibreOffice, I use "LiberationSerif" apparently; I believe this is the default. I also use whatever font discord is in because that's what I type snippets into when I'm on the go/I woke up at 3am and had to write the skeleton plot of a fix-it for Mirdania (despite her unfortunate name, I will protect her).
30. share a fic you’re especially proud of
I'm absurdly proud of Where now all our sons? It's a fic that hops between the POVs of Anairë, Eärwen, and Findis as they sail for Beleriand and endure the War of Wrath with the armies of Valinor. I loved writing it. Even though it's more work to breathe life into characters that don't have much more about them than their names in canon, I think it's worth it to people the Legendarium with more women of varied kinds.
Thank you so much for asking <3

1, 7, and 15 for the writing asks!
Thank you asking 💜 The writing ask game is here. Let's go!
the last sentence you wrote
Dionysios felt anger and indignation flare inside him. How dared this stranger make assumptions about his magical knowledge!
There had to be two for context. Guess who the stranger is (but I don't think it's difficult XD). It's DA fandom, of course.
7. your preferred writing fonts
Big secret reveal: I use either Times (Times New Roman), because it's default for academic applications here in my country, or the default Ellipsus font (I looked it up, it's called Literata). They have "hairlines", unlike the font on Tumblr, but they are very neat and don't draw my attention towards them. Also the Cyrillic font in Ellipsus is much better than on Tumblr.
15. favorite weather for writing
All weathers when it's not too hot. Because if it's cold inside, I can make tea and put on socks, and continue typing. Seriously, I survived typing lectures in Uni, while my fingers were getting cold, and I was happy my laptop was warm. It didn't happen all the time, of course, just before the central heating season started. When it's hot it's hard to concentrate and think. But in all honesty, if I have an idea and I want to write, nothing can stop me, I forget about everything around me and type like I'm mad.

Hey, can I have an answer for 7 or 19? I love your stories!
Hey, absolutely! And thanks for saying so! ☺️
7. What are your preferred fonts?
Literata, Arial/Arial Narrow, and some versions of Garamond are all alright. I love a fancy font as much as the next person, but for writing purposes I prefer to keep things simple and easy to edit. Sometimes, if I'm writing in a particular genre, I'll find a font (usually custom) that gives me the right 'vibe' but maintains similar levels of readability and ease of use, but not often.
19. The most interesting topic you’ve researched for a fic
Oooh, tough choice. I'll list a few: 1. "blood colours" -> "octopus blood chemistry" -> "haemocyanin properties"
2. "nonfatal throat cut" -> "vocal chord injury types" -> "throat and vocal chord anatomy" 3. "harmonics" -> "harmonics for dummies"
Cheers!

7 for the writing ask?
Am realizing that I never got back to these writing meme asks? For shame, me.
7. your preferred writing fonts
I am actually very boring here; I don't tend to fuss about font and generally write in the default font provided by whatever word processor I'm using. I actually do like Calibri, which is the default for MS Word and which I find very plain and readable, but lately I've been doing most writing in Ellipsus, where the default is a font called Literata which also looks very nice. I also use Scrivener when working on original writing and typically use Courier New or Sitka Text, which are also defaults. As long as it's a simple font and not too shaped or anything I can write in it.

7, 15, 18, 19, 23 from this ask game
7. your preferred writing fonts
That's actually an excellent question to ask for a former printer. XD Currently it's Literata on Ellipsus at 16pt.
15. favorite weather for writing
I don't know that I have a favorite, but I do like to be cozy when it's rainy and gray. I prefer that over writing on sunny, lovely days.
18. if you keep them, share a deleted sentence or paragraph from a published fic
But, because he was still mortified almost beyond coping with about being that damn destitute, he let everyone think he'd married her for her money and they never bothered to actually check the newspapers for an announcement. And when he couldn't take the shame or the walloping he got from his friends anymore, he just quietly thanked her for her kindness and faded back out into the world.
From there, he went from hotels, then to motels, and in the last months of Ted's life, he'd slept in his fair share of doorways, too. He showered at the gym when he couldn't anywhere else, because a gym membership was surprisingly cheap, and since some of them were open all night, he'd go work out instead of freezing on cold nights. He rented a storage locker to keep clothes and a few other things in, and that was that.
19. the most interesting topic you’ve researched for a fic
Already answered! <3
23. pick three keywords that describe your writing
Honest. Mature. Lyrical.
Thank you for the ask!

Okay, for the fic writer asks, I am curious about a lot of them for you but feel free to pick and choose which ones you answer. xD
2. A character whose POV you’re currently exploring?
7. Your preferred writing fonts?
9. Start to finish, how long did it take you to write the last fic you posted?
19. The most interesting topic you’ve researched for a fic?
23. Pick three keywords that describe your writing.
27. What’s your favourite part of the writing process?
Ohhh, thank you so much for sending those in!
2. I just rewatched Demonology again and I wrote some dialogue today where Emily shows up at his place after walking through the snow at the end of the episode because she wants him to know the truth about her too. And I want to explore his POV here. They haven't known each other for too long, he isn't divorced for this long and just in general, he plays most things very very close to the vest. So I'm looking forward to writing that yearning for her as he acts all calm and collected. That fic will be canon-compliant, so there will be no kiss, just a little add on.
7. before I got my new laptop and switched to using Ellipsus to write (by the way, that program is awsome!) I used Comic Sans because I read an article, that the silly font helps the brain relax, so you actually write more. Now I'm using Literata, which is the standard font in Ellipsus.
9. I acutally don't know! I took breaks between working on Sin to Win to finish off other stories, but maybe work time was four days or something? Procrastination included, of course. ;)
19. I'm mostly too lazy to do actual research. Sorry!
23. Hm, three words for my writing. This one is hard! - Maybe humor, because I love adding humor to scenes, character-focused and smut?
27. I love writing dialogue. It's where stories usually start on the page for me as I write down what the characters are saying in my brain-cinema. But I also like adding to the scene to give some lines a completely different implication for the character I'm writing, if that makes sense. - I don't really enjoy describing the surroundings. I've gotten better with adding descriptions, but yeah, not my fav.
