i hope it's ok to ask but what changes you would have done if you were made incharge of vld's canon while it was/before it started airing?
OH ANON SO MANY THINGS
but I shall not get to complicated and just talk about main points !!!! I apologize in advance if stuff stops making sense I’m a little shaky if that makes sense??
1, the show wouldn’t have romance. I’m not saying this to make people mad or say anything against shipping. I’m saying this because I want the focus of the show to be about the paladins relationships towards one another and I don’t want it to be romanticized. I want to represent all the different types of love within the paladins except romantic because I feel as though it’d be really important especially because I want to make them almost like soulmates.
Like yes they’re the paladins of Voltron but they’re meant to be with each other. Like they all can take care of themselves but there’s something so important to their connection to one another that no one else can really understand.
It’s kinda like that one myth that soulmates are born to one body but are separated so they have to find each other to truely be whole. But platonically. (I’m sorry if that doesn’t make sense I’m really bad at explaining)
Like example Lance has a crush on allura but it doesn’t turn into anything. Allura doesn’t feel for Lance the same way and Lance learns that there is value in just having a friend. (I love allurance and have been thinking about it non stop but I’m strong on this)
2, there will be specific episodes dedicated to different characters bonding and creating their own connections. An example is an entire episode dedicated to allura and hunk or Keith and Lance. (Or even trios ((or more)), just any and all bonding forms)
It doesn’t have to be a serious situation like a mission but something to show growth between the characters and have them bounce off each other.
3, similar to 2 but it’s like filler episodes for the WHOLE team. Maybe they do something stupid or have a beach episode. Something to showcase that they’re getting more familiar with each other.
4, having more personal silent moments to themselves. An example is maybe starting off the episode with shiro taking a shower and you see that his scars are becoming more faded and he’s healthier than the start. He has more of a routine now for taking care of himself like washing his face perhaps.
It’s more of a comparison of growth situation.
5, having the paladins visibly age. I know this is hard for animation but I’d love to see their hands get more rough and their body’s change. Maybe they get some gray hairs.
I’d especially love to see more personal changes. Like with hunk and his hair. I feel as though hunk likes to work with his hands and doing his own hair gives him some personal relief and perhaps even doing everyone else’s hair.
6, interacting with aliens more on a personal level. Like the episode with the balmera was 10/10. They got to speak with the people and actually see what they’ve been living through.
I’d even love to see their gratitude in the form of gifts or supplies. Or even teaching them how to collect certain things (clay for beads for hunks hair and such)
Essentially I want them to build community. I want them to be able to provide resources and work with the people of the planets on more personal levels other than just having Voltron show up.
7, I want their elemental power more involved. Not like avatar the last air bender where they have that power but more …. Sound design and affects wise.
Example if keith is feeling absolutely defeated and devasted and is feeling his raw emotions there will be sounds of fire and even fire around him lighting him but not actually there.
Another one is with shiro, you can hear the sounds of wind in his fighting.
And it changes depending on their emotions. If they’re feeling exhausted and just done it’s quiet.
Like lances sound is more of a water droplet dripping slowly.
8, MUSIC!!!!! Everyone has their own instruments that follow with their element (shiro would be a wind instrument like a flute) so that when forming Voltron it becomes a symphony. Or even when it’s one on one or a trio their music blends together.
9, on the topic of music there has to be a musical episode. I liked the episode where they try to gain support by doing a show but it wasn’t nearly enough for me personally.
It’d be a way for them to earn money since even though almost every planet they go to gives them some supplies it’s not enough to fully sustain themselves.
10, touching, like either having a spa day or just having a little sleep over to have some moral and bring comfort to them.
11, the paladins teaching allura and coran human customs or the alteans trying to mimic the paladins.
an example is matching each others vocal patterns (let’s say pidge always says bless me when they sneeze and Lance picks it up)
12, INCLUDING ORHER ALTEANS BUT NOT THE COLONY CAUSE THAT GETS DELETED
I want romelle to be included but as a “it’s been 10,000 years and generations of altean people have been mixed with other species to the point where they’re almost not even altean anymore or look anything like them besides the marks on their eyes” types of deal.
Showing the change of generations.
Also showing normal galra. Galra that have nothing to do with the empire OR the blades cause I feel as though that would be interesting.
13, SENTIENT LIONS AND VOLTRON
The lions can speak (not in English more like purrs) but the paladins can understand. And they will bond with their paladins (think that episode with shiro and black)
Maybe Lance cleans blue after a battle stuff like that. ESPECIALLY THE LIONS PROTECTING THEIR PALAIDNS MMMMMM!!!!
but the thing is the lions sentience is different from Voltron.
Voltron speaks not well but they do. Their voice is Erieand glitchy.
And there’s something that ….lives in Voltron.
14, I want more mystery. Why does it take 10,000 years for Voltron to form again? Are aliens mad and even betrayed by voltrons existence for creating the galra empire? Why is Voltron sentient? What happened to zarkon? What happened to Hagar?
I want more focus on WHY Voltron exists and what it did for it to exist.
15, I want the paladins to be distraught and form trauma that shakes them to their CORE.
I want pidge to experience what it is to be a child solider to see all your friends almost DIE.
I even want them to resent being paladins as well. They deserve to feel upset and curse the universe for taking them here.
16, I do want elements of other reality but in a different way for sure. I want the universe to be sentient if that makes sense?
OK IM GONNA END IT HERE CAUSE THIS IS SO LONG IM SO SORRY JDJFKEKR
Once again these aren’t really explained well cause I’m going to be honest I’m not the best at doing that. I more picture things in my head than words so it’s hard to even like translate my thoughts? If that makes sense!
I apologize that this is long and confusing but I hope this gives some answers to you!! I love Voltron but I’m definitely more found family oriented in my version for sure.
#anon ask#voltron#voltron legendary defender#PHEW IM SO SORRY THIS IS LONG EKDIRJIRT#I FEEL SO BAD ANON#BUT ALSO I HAD TO EXPLAIN#trust me when my plans line up like the stars I SHALL make Voltron#and my crazy thoughts will make more sense#ALSO MY SPELLING IS BAD IM SO SORRY#JFIEBDIR#paladins of Voltron#I love the paladins a lot#I also forgot to say that there would be different arcs for the paladins#like I’d focus on shiros arc first building him up then Keith etc.#LOTS OF CHARACTER BUILDING YALL#OH AND I WANT THE CASTLE OF LIONS TO BE MORE OF A HOME#LIKE THEY DECORATE IT WITH PLANTS AND HAVE THEIR GIFTS HUNG UP ON THE WALLS AND JUST MAKE THE SPACE MORE OF A HOME

Plssss can u do a hazel x reader Christmas themed fic? I’ve been dying for some holiday spirit hazel and I think she’d be super cute during the holidays ☺️☺️☺️
getting into the spirit
Hazel spins around, admiring every part of your guys’ small shared apartment, as she finishes adding the final touch: strings of lush green (fake) plants around the small stairwell railings.
“what do you think babe? i think we did a pretty good job,” she’s standing with her hands on her hips, huge smile across her lips while she looks at you expectantly.
you’re lying down on a pile of christmas pillows she’s been meaning to put up, but that have just been sitting on your small couch. you have to admit it, your apartment is the cutest right now.
the mistletoe on the doorway to the kitchen, where she’s been so happy to kiss you every morning. the small christmas trees she’s put up on nearly every flat surface, the splashes of green lighting up every room. the lights that twinkle while strung from the walls, whose lights cast comfortable shadows on everything.
then there’s the tree. that adorable christmas tree you bought, when she stood in the lot, admiring all the trees, before finding the perfect one for you both. best of all are the decorations. a million gifts under the tree, and the bright colourful lights hung everywhere, creating a glow that lights up the entire floor.
the ornaments are the cutest, all second hand, and clearly very old and loved. there’s photo ornaments scattered everywhere, with photos of you and Hazel, you as a kid, Hazel as an awkward emo tween, photos of your cat Mochi, everything.
you stand up and walk towards her, wrapping your arms around her waist to pull her in for a kiss. Hazels hands drop to hold your cheeks softly, smiling against your lips.
“honey I think it’s amazing, it looks beautiful,” you’re gushing but how could you not? this is your first christmas while living together. of course she’s going to do it up.
“okay so i have a few plans for tonight and tomorrow morning!” she’s practically jumping up and down, like a child on Christmas.
“lay them on me Hazel,” you peck her nose, egging her on.
“alright so tonight we have to watch a christmas movie. im thinking home alone or elf, you pick! we have to wear the pajamas Isabel got us, the ones with the reindeer, and then tomorrow morning we open gifts with Mochi!”
her eyes are lighting up the more she rambles, and you can’t help yourself from leaning in to hug her, smiling against your neck.
“i’ll go start the movie, you get the snacks,” you hum, pressing a lazy kiss to her neck.
she kisses your cheek, lightly pushing you away from you with a squeeze of your hand before she darts off to the kitchen. you sigh happily, picking up the DVDs. hmmmm, Home Alone or Elf?
she bounds back into the living room a moment later, just as you’re pushing the Elf DVD into the machine, pushing the okay button. you turn around and grin, seeing her snack choice.
“alright let’s see…popcorn, sugar cookies, coke, whipped cream….are we just eating straight whipped cream?” you tilt your head to look at her questioningly.
Hazel shrugs, dumping the giant supply of snack in her hands onto the couch. “i mean, we can always find another way to eat it if you want,” she grins, hands circling your waist, drawing you in closer.
“oh don’t you even mention that, this time i’d actually like to watch the movie we pick,” you laugh, pushing her away from you.
“hey, if you change your mind, let me know,” she’s walking up the stairs laughing, no doubt getting you guys’d pajamas (and maybe thinking of the last time you both got your hands on whipped cream.
you smile to yourself at your girlfriend’s antics, occupying yourself with putting the collection of food she brought onto the coffee table, ready for you both to feast on. she comes back bounding into the room, pajamas in one arm, and Mochi in the other, looking slightly displeased at the matching pajamas Hazel seems to have stuck him in.
“ohh Hazel, he looks miserable,” you laugh. your poor cat looks so grumpy, but you both know he doesn’t mind the clothes, he just hates having his fat manhandled into pjs.
“yeahhhh but he looks so cuddly, plus he’s matching us!” she kisses your lips, softly dripping Mochi onto the couch, where he promptly loafs into a ball on an armrest.
you both change into the pjs, throwing your clothes onto the floor, a problem for tomorrow, and settle onto the couch. Hazels lying on her back, tilted slightly to be a better pillow for you, who has taken to resting your head on her tits, stroking her arm that’s currently drawing small circles in your back. her lips are pressed against your head, laughing along to the movie when you aren’t stuffing your faces full of the cheapest christmas food you could find.
“so, scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate this Christmas?” she mumbles into your hair, laughing at whatever Buddy is up to on screen.
“this is absolutely a 10/10, i can’t imagine a better Christmas,” you smile softly up at you, tearing your eyes away from the movie to stare at her.
“you should wait until next christmas, i promise i’ll make it even better,” she leans down to kiss you deeply, playing with your hair slightly.
“i don’t doubt it Hazel,” you whisper against her lips, the both of you smiling at the the thought of celebrating another Christmas together.
who knows? maybe by next Christmas you guys might both have rings…🤭
—
an: merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, and happy holidays to those that don’t!! I hope everyone is having an an amazing end of the year, and that you’re all happy and healthy and enjoying the holidays!! 🫶🫶🫶

➜ Simon Riley x gn!reader
➜ 500 words, fluff
➜ I’m js trying to get back into writing rn, so here’s a small drabble
Simon was a minimalist. Something you’d assume he’d picked up from years of serving in the military, but he’d say he’d always been like this.
His apartment was bare, stripped of anything personal of his. No family portraits hung on the wall; no cute pillows adorned the couch, no decorative fake plants or collection of expensive airplane models – one of the only things he’d ever admitted to taking enjoyment in. He had one couch, a coffee table, a cabinet that held the tv on it and a plain black blanket that was folded and tucked in the small storage space under the table.
Inside the bedroom his bed was made perfectly, and an empty desk sat in front of it against the wall. Two books were stacked on his nightstand neatly, waiting to be finished and put back on the shelf that held his personal library.
And in the kitchen, it was the same. You wouldn’t find anything more telling about him in the cabinets than in the rest of the house. The plain black mugs and generic white plates. The sink was kept empty, a single candle sat closed on the island, unused. It might as well have been the only type of decoration he had.
His house was always pristine and clean. Everything tucked away in its spot, never taken out unless it was being used. There was hardly any evidence anyone lived there.
Until he met you.
You breathed life into his space the minute you set foot in it. The first time you’d seen the place you’d been appalled, telling him it looked like a ghost lived there. His lips had tugged up at the comment in a half smile, watching as you laughed at your own joke.
Slowly you added to his space, decorating it with small – and large – trinkets, artworks and pillows. One Christmas you gifted him a small three piece of model airplanes after he told you about the old hobby of his. The three planes now sat proudly on his dresser.
Fake plants littered the shelves, and colorful paintings hung on the walls. The plain black blanket was replaced with multiple fluffy ones. Some were woven with floral patterns and others held colorful splatters. Photos of the two of you greeted him at the door when he returned home now. In the kitchen you’d replaced the plain mugs with some that held corny slogans or were souvenirs you’d brought back from your international travels.
You’d done your best to make this space feel like both of yours, which did mean some of his plain tastes still littered the apartment, but you’d say it meshed nicely with your pops of color. You’d even found Simon to be more relaxed and wanting to stay home now that the place no longer felt like a hotel or air bnb rental.
He never verbally voiced his appreciation, but you could tell that it made him feel at home.
You made him feel at home.

*cough* aNYwAy!
Sam headcanons 🤠
As mentioned before, he was gifted a frog Build A Bear by one of the Shaw Pack mates. It’s name is Sammy and he has a little cowboy hat.
He has one (1) cowboy hat but he never wears it. He only has it because Vincent gifted it to him for some reason when they were first getting to know each other.
Before Darlin’ came into the picture, he had a pet dog.
He hates doing his weekly drink of blood because he thinks it’s gross so he has a little “fun” with it and uses a shot glass instead of drinking it from a bag.
Although vampires don’t need actual food to survive, he still has meals with Darlin’ so they don’t feel lonely or so that he makes sure they’re eating properly. He also just really likes the taste of his own cooking.
He’s very “traditional” when it comes to relationships. Like, when he met Darlin’, he felt the need to meet their family. Obviously we don’t really know much about Darlin’ family so the Shaw Pack was the next best thing.
His cabin doesn’t feel as southern as his vibes set out to be. Darlin’ was really surprised to see the lack of taxidermy and animal skulls hung up on his wall.
Addition to home decor, he has a lot of fake plants because this man has no idea how tf to keep a plant alive to save his life, but he wants his home to feel alive in a way.
He doesn’t own a lot of sweaters, but he does have a SH*T ton of flannels. Like a very very concerning amount of them.
I could be wrong but I think I remember seeing on the timeline that Sam didn’t have a good home life growing up. When he left, he did take a photo of his family because he genuinely does miss them in a way, but would never come to visit (nor could he because he’s a vampire and all that).
When him and Darlin’ moved in together, he thought about getting a dog, but when Darlin’s wolf fur started getting everywhere, he decided to pass on it.
He’s deathly afraid of chickens.
He’s thought about wanting kids but after having to take care of Darlin’, he doesn’t feel the need to anymore lmao.
He has a picture of his first party (whatever the vampire party was called) with the clan. He absolutely hates seeing himself in a suit, but Darlin’ loves it and thinks he looks “very pretty”, in their words.
He sleeps on his stomach. Whenever he wakes up, he’s always super sprawled out, the blanket isn’t even on him anymore.
I’m pretty sure this is already canon, but his favorite season is autumn/fall. He just likes the colors and how it’s not really as sunny outside so he’s able to sit on his porch during the day.
Sam can sing. Like really well. The first time he actually sung around people was during a little meet up with the Shaw Pack and they did Karaoke. He sung River by BRKN LOVE, as Darlin’ requested and they absolutely fell more in love with him.
I feel like Darlin’ also got him into Hozier but the only songs he religiously listens to is Would That I, Like Real People Do, and Cherry Wine (but specifically the live version).
He HATES dancing. Absolutely hates it. The most he’ll do is tap his foot or sway a little bit.
Definitely gives the absolute best hugs. He’s a tall, little bit chonky guy. He gives the most perfect bear hugs.
Also because he’s not an actual prince, but is a duke of the Solaire Clan, William got him a custom made broach. He’s very grateful for it and never wears it. He leaves it in the box on his dresser with his other important trinkets and photos.
He has a box full of random stuff that Darlin’ has collected over the years from the forest.

Regardless of her new home’s sorry state, Agnes worked hard to make it a place that she could be proud of. She’d taken to sweeping out every inch of dust and cobwebs from their house, not content to stop until there wasn’t a traceable speck left.
When she was satisfied with her cleaning, she turned her attention toward decor -- Lace curtains gifted to her from Aunt Winifred hung from the windows that she’d scrubbed clean, a rug knit by Will’s mother sat in the living room alongside several odds and ends Agnes had unpacked from their trunks. In their bedroom, she spread out freshly clean linens onto the bed where she also placed a couple of goose-down pillows. It was satisfying work, and made the decrepit farm house feel more like a home.
Their home, filled to the brim with little personal touches, reminders of those who loved them and wished them well.
Meanwhile, Will had busied himself with more exterior aspects of the farm. When he’d finished patching up holes in the house’s roof and walls, he’d moved on to plowing through the fields in preparation for the crops he intended to plant, as well as getting some work done with the barn and preparing for any future livestock that they might have.
He’d also stated to Agnes that he planned to build a chicken coop just as soon as he was able, and she was eager for it, keen to start stocking their larder with more than just the meager goods they already had.
It was tiring work on both ends for the young couple, but neither one of them felt the need to complain. This was their life now, this was where they would live and raise their family. It would take some work – a LOT of hard work, but it was nothing they couldn’t handle. They’d managed the journey, and there was nothing say they couldn’t manage this just as well, just as they could manage to find time for one another at the end of a long, tiring day full of work and sweat.

The Last of Us HBO - Episode 1 thoughts
Warning: Pure yapping ahead, just my thoughts and things I've noticed whilst watching, it's not serious and I don't invite arguments (fellow yappers however are more than welcome)
(these make sense in the way that i wrote this as i watched so it's all chronological, this is my bday gift to all of you lol. spoilers under the cut)
Love the opening, gives a lot of the context you'd get from the opening credits of the game in a way that's easy to follow and understand for a new audience (using my mum as an example, she knows nothing about this show other than me telling her it's a zombie show - her only experience with that is the walking dead vaguely so her expectations were mid, but even she told me it's easy to understand and actually makes more sense irl compared to TWD)
The whole pandemic stuff really just hits different after COVID doesn't it
The whole climate change thing mentioned is so real, and I know this is written for modern times by modern writers, but for them to set that idea up in a 60s show is very eye-opening
The silence + stillness of the host and audience, the camera angles chosen, it's so good and unsettling in a very inconspicuous way, bravo
I wonder why they chose to change it from 2013 to 2003. Don't get me wrong I'm okay with it, and it's fun to relate to seeing a bunch of familiar things from my own childhood (lack of smartphones, older decor, easy clothing style etc), but it's a decade difference and I wonder why? Is it to make it more relatable for us that the majority of the show is set in 2023? Are we meant to connect to that more, as we've just had our own pandemic and this is a more intense fallout that we could have had if the nature of COVID had been slightly different? Maybe I'm overthinking it
The details in Sarah's room 👌 the posters, the box TV (such nostalgia), the pictures of her and friends, of her and Joel, ribbons and trophies from winning soccer tournaments, the hung up doodle paper, fairy lights, soft pink walls, it's so comfy and lived in, girly but completely her own space :') reminds me a bit of my childhood bedroom tbh, messy but comfortably so
I love that she knows her dad won't wake up so she knocks and calls because yeah, that's what you do when your dad is a deep sleeper
The contrast with Joel's room immediately after, the details there too - the old boombox cd player, fan up and running, messy dresser with slightly open drawers, the most Texas art on the walls (come on, music, deer and a tacos and beer poster?), blue walls, a hamper filled to the brim, a fucking treadmill?? Joel, your plant on the bedside table is long deceased I'm begging you to chuck it and release it from its misery 💀
(Something my mum noted, was that Sarah is wearing her natural curly hair, which mum said "it's rare to see that, in 2003 at least", to which I replied "maybe not in America?" because fr we are European and there's many cultural differences between the USA and other countries. Mum noticed it and she grew up in the Netherlands as a 60s kid. Me personally, I didn't think too much on it because it didn't click that might be odd to see someone wear natural hair, but I also admit I grew up in small villages and towns in more rural areas of Scotland and the Netherlands, so I didn't see much diversity in people growing up until like high school, but I consumed an insane amount of media such as Doctor Who and that's always been a very diverse show. Anyway, just a little thing that was noticed, I love Sarah's hair)
The domesticity :') Joel forgetting the pancake mix (good thing too), going straight for coffee, Sarah insisting on orange juice, his utter disgust at drinking it
"Gonna have to wear diapers soon." "Who says I don't already?" 💀
IS THAT DIDO PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND??? ULTIMATE WIN (I fucking love Dido, the song playing is White Flag)
"Shell." "Calcium." *pushes egg through teeth* "Lovely." stop it oh my god
Family banter, I'm eating this shit up so bad y'all, uncle Tommy <3
The Jakarta detail 👌👌
Pedro with a Texan accent is mwah
I like the detail of Sarah's name being on her bag, I had the same as a kid but my mum would sew it into the top of my bag instead, sometimes on the outside sometimes on the inside. I feel like that's not a safe thing to do anymore but it was so normal when I was a kid
Wish I could write an essay on Joel's drawer but instead I'll just say I love that Sarah is comfortable enough at home to just, go into her dad's room and grab stuff from his dresser, and know Joel won't be mad about it :) healthy home relationship
I wonder if the knife has any crazy significance? I don't remember seeing that knife ever again, unless it's just foreshadowing to Ellie's knife
I swear, them constantly avoiding baked goods is so genius (no pancakes, no cake, no biscuits, they don't eat the cookies later, it's small and clever)
Joel throwing Sarah under the bus like that to the neighbours had both me and mum cackling
Joel "no smoking in the truck" Miller
The desert storm detail is an interesting addition to Tommy's character, and at this stage, it's open whether this is about Joel or Tommy since we don't know who's truck it is (just because Tommy is driving doesn't mean it's his, after all, Joel has a garage)
The details in the school are fun, but idk if that's a normal American school thing to have pictures of the presidents and founding father up or not, I honestly will assume it is since there's also a big ass USA flag in the corner
THE PAPERMATE INKJOY PEN!!! I USED TO HAVE THOSE!!! Damn the small details are so fucking popping
This part is wonderful - where the fuck did they source that many different and fun clocks from and where can I get them?
"20." "That's it?" "Okay, 30." "20's good."
The build up is fantastic, it works for fans and for newcomers alike - all these things like the police all day and other things previously mentioned, the lady ushering her out as quickly as possible, all the people that were outside eating and enjoying the food stands are suddenly gone and the street is silent
The whole Jesus spiel, good lord, feels very Texas in the 2000s (and still tbh, let's be real)
Sarah's face when Mrs Adler says "raisin" is SUCH a fat mood my god this kid is funny
Nanna no 💀 (that fucking grandma is FREAKY as FUCK, outstanding detail)
Mercy knows. Animals always know.
Thank god Joel forgot the cake
Pedros funny little facial expression absolutely kill me, adds such dimension to Joel as a father
Super satisfying to hear the game dialogue ngl, especially that funny little bit with the watch
It's so interesting to see Joel has always struggled with his emotions and verbalising them - the small "thank you", not looking at her, rather looking down at the watch itself, fiddling with it - he's trying but he's never been good with feelings
Joel SNATCHING that dvd like, damn son, it's not going anywhere 😭😂 it's cute to see him so excited about it though, Sarah knows what he likes, even if she's not interested in it at all
The instant sofa snuggle :')
"Don't fall asleep." "Of course I won't, it's too riveting." *Cuts to Sarah fast asleep*
The phone 💀 I remember us having a phone like that, whole ass protection sleeve and all
This extra detail of Joel having to bail Tommy out just adds so much more depth to the dynamic and I'm here for it, also explains why the fuck Joel wasn't in the house at 2am (that always bothered me a bit about the game)
Joel loves his daughter so much,,,, the gentle way he puts her in bed, shoes and all, covering her up with her blanket, little kiss on the head,,,,, I'm already in pain for what's to come
Mercy my sweet baby <3 what a good dog, so scared :(
The show really captured that out of sync feeling when something like this happens - nothing crazy yet, just utter confusion and mild panic creeping in because this isn't normal but nothing seems to be happening yet
Mercy said "peace ✌️ I'm out"
This girl is braver than me, I wouldn't have walked through the door - but that being said I haven't had close neighbours like this in years so maybe it's just that they're very close and she feels comfortable doing so
Oh that's fucked UP dude, Sarah downright walking into cannibal town that's so disturbing (fantastic acting and special effects all around)
The cordyceps special effects are so fucking visceral and disgusting, that out of the mouth?? Grim!! Love how they did this
Love the amount of game dialogue and referencing we get in this particular part - "You take 71-" "71, I know.", the whole car conversation, "That's Jimmy's place" (I know in the game Jimmy is the neighbour and it's Louis'farm that's on fire but the reference stands), most of the camera work being fixed on Sarah or from Sarah's perspective in the back, "They got a kid Joel." "So do we, keep driving. Somebody else'll come along.", just a fucking well done scene tbh
This whole part in the car from Sarah's POV absolutely invokes the same anxiety I felt when playing this bit of the game, totally made me feel like I'm in the truck with them and it's scary (scary good)
I was so thrown off by the fact that they avoided the car crash that I wasn't expecting the alternative that they chose instead 💀 like shit??? A whole ass plane??? Love that they did the eerie music to black thing though that was great
Nico honestly just stole my whole heart as Sarah she got all the fucking expressions down, the panic, the way she talks, the pained sounds, love it 10/10 casting imo
The instant reaction time on Joel and getting Sarah out of the way of that car was NUTS like, I rewatched that part multiple times just to see how quickly he switched them around goddamn
Pedro and Nico are a fantastic father daughter duo 👌
Joel pushing Sarah's head under his chin more so she doesn't look 🥺
The infected actors are fucking amazing, terrifying dedication to the role
Oh no I'm about to cry so hard guys
Sarah 😭😭😭 her whimpers make me so fucking upset this scene is so fucking sad
On a genuine note, Nico did an outstanding job of channeling the desperation from the game, and so did Pedro and Gabriel - Tommy's choked up "Joel" and look of utter defeat and grief is absolutely heartbreaking
Joel holding his dead daughter in his arms, rocking her like a baby, crying out for her to please please be okay...... Yeah
The set for the front of the Boston QZ 🙌
It's so telling that the first thing we see FEDRA do is lie to a child and kill her when they promised she was gonna be okay. They promised they were gonna feed her and get her toys, and that the medicine would help her. They told her that she was safe. And they killed her.
Having Joel be the one to throw her into the fire, holding her the same way he held Sarah, was such poignant choice - how a man can change over 20 years
The Boston details - the set itself, the extras, the shoelaces for ration cards, the covering up of the firefly logo, the sheer amount of FEDRA guards everywhere
Ah yes, the return of public hangings, my favourite 🫠
Interesting to see Joel "smuggler and dealer" Miller, something we didn't get much of in the game tbh
Tess <3
Robert is so slimy eugh
I love that we get to see more of Tess outside of her and Joel, it builds more of a picture of who she is besides just Joel's smuggle partner - also love the amazing bruise makeup they did for her, looks super real and painful
The fireflies actively causing mayhem in the QZ is also a great added detail! We see it a bit in game but I enjoy the constant references to it as well
Bella as Ellie is god tier damn they're so good - snarky as FUCK
Joel just, skipping the fucking line without giving a shit, no one stopping him
"When I'm sleeping, Gabriela listens, or my son. The smart one, not the other one, god bless him." 💀😂😭
I love that Joel has a secret stash in his apartment
Ah yes, drugs and alcohol, the remedy to all
The watch 😭
Liking the music and camera usage in this scene, makes me feel like I'm high myself
Tess just coming in, scooting Joel over in bed and being the big spoon 🙌 the tender way in which she slides her arm over his waist and he grabs her hand in his 😭
The jarring cut to it being day and him lying down alone, pheww
The way Joel is instantly awake and ready to fucking go when he sees Tess' face 🫠
Enjoy how we get Tess saying how absolutely terrified Robert is of Joel, that he needs to take a breath and go slow, but reassures him she still wants to fuck him up - Tess is handling Joel like an spooked animal, gently and with care
Marlene's casting is fantastic 👌 - JUST CLOCKED THAT THE REASON WHY I FELT THAT IMMEDIATELY IS BECAUSE MERLE VOICED MARLENE IN GAME, NO WONDER I INSTANTLY FELT SHE WAS RIGHT!! I recognised her voice without clocking it
I enjoy the changes made to Marlene from the game, she feels more real here, more brutal, this is a rebellion leader who is aware shit isn't going well, it's refreshing - we're seeing more of the inner workings of the firefly situation in Boston
I think it's cute that they still have shitty bars and stuff, humans desire connection and community so much they'll make the best out of whatever they got
"You tell me to 'look for the light' and I'll break your jaw." SLAY LOL
This insight into Ellie's treatment and her relationship with Marlene is really interesting - it's more context which I always enjoy
"You my fucking mom or something?" "Do I look like your mom?" "Nooo, you do not." 😂
First Riley mention, time to feel sad!
With more thought, the "he's here" is probably about Robert! Didn't think much on that before
Detail notice - love how hair and makeup department did Tess and Joel's graying hairs, it looks really good and natural. I read some comments ages ago that Joel's hair is too silver in some spots, but I raise to you my mum in defence, who went grey quite early (she started in her late 30s) and has beautiful silver highlights naturally between the darker hairs. If my mum ever finds out I've posted that online, she'll probably kill me, but then she shouldn't have genetically given me her terrible eyesight 😌 consider it retaliation
The wall body is so grotesque and beautiful, it reminds me a bit of Annihilation (if you haven't seen that movie, I recommend! Fantastic music and visual effects)
*Joel rambles about the building structure* "This has been 'Construction Corner' with Joel Miller." got me creasing lmao they're so snarky and funny
Man I wonder wtf happened, like, did Robert try to scam them so bad they had a shootout?? Crazy
"So this is who Robert screwed us over with? The Che Guevara of Boston?" tells me everything I need to know about Marlene
The shootout stance oooooohhsggsg
Kim and her missing ear 💀
I like the way they get the Ellie job in the show, it works really well
"Really? That fast?" crying lmao
There's clearly more history between Tommy, Marlene and Joel and I know it's because Tommy was a firefly but man what I wouldn't give for a series on the 20 years between this and 2003!!! I'd play a whole game of that!!! I wanna know what happened, in detail!!
Something that bothers me: they're soaked, their shoes are squelching, yet the floor is bone dry after they walk in 😭
I love how smart and inquisitive Ellie is, all the small things she notices and picks up on
Love the same dialogue but different way of delivering it from the game, refreshing as fuck
Ellie's a sassy little shit ain't she (I love her)
I find it constantly funny that cars and shit are still used after 20 years because y'all, gasoline has a shelf life of like 3-6 months and diesel about a year if they're stored correctly with stabilisers, so, why are vehicles used so much?? Where are they getting their gasoline from?? Yes I am aware you can make bio-gas out of plants but it's a complicated process and do you really think FEDRA is out here with greenhouses for gasoline? No me neither
Tess is actually so fucking lovely in regards to Ellie, like, mom mode detected - also love how it's Tess that takes the lead
I can feel my own back protesting at seeing them squat walk, yikes
Ellie gripping Tess' hand for support 😭💕
Joel's flashback due to the light - him beating that guy to fucking death because he's already lost one daughter to a soldier before, and he may not even like Ellie yet but he'll be damned if he lets another little girl die at the barrel of a gun like that
Ellie's face, like she wants to be scared of Joel but shit, that guy just killed a FEDRA soldier to protect her and you can see the admiration in her eyes, but the fear is there too
The radio at the end - we know Bill and Frank aren't alright but at this stage we don't know what exactly that means
The final shot of the iconic towers at the end, an infected screaming on the roof - fucking poetry
If you made it to the end, thanks for reading!! It's literally just my running thought process whilst watching!! Do you agree with some of my notes, was there anything you noticed that i didn't? Comments and reblogs welcome <3

Running From The Past
Jooheon was smiling big as he walked into his apartment there were boxes under his arm snuggly, which were little gifts from his parents. He had a big smile on his face as he walked in, he was sure most of the kids were out and Min should be there. “Min.~ I’m back. Parents gave us some stuff to use for the wedding!~” Min peeked out from the doorframe giving Jooheon a small bunny smile as he saw him.
“Hey Sunshine.~” He walked up to the taller male who was placing the boxes down on the dining table, and gave him a soft peck to the cheek. Joo smiled happily cupping his face and pressing small kisses to his lips while Minho chuckled softly at his fiancé’s affections. “What did they give us?”
“Photo albums.” Jooheon laughed as he pulled them out, placing the different decorative books from the box and placing the now empty box on the floor. Each album seemed to have a color code along with the ages on the fronts of them. They went from youngest to new born to current time. Joo held up a dark blue photo album that had little stars, plants, a sun and a little cat on the cover and a picture of Joo kissing Minho’s cheek. Minho took the album and looked at it with a small smile. “This one is for us. My parents started it so there’s pictures in it, they said we could do a little wall with our baby pictures and then current pictures and well I thought it was a cute idea so…ta da!” Jooheon let out another big happy laugh as he motioned to the albums. Minho looked through the couple of pictures inside realizing their pictures from the couple of times they have hung out with Joo’s parents along with when he first met the older’s parents. He couldn’t fight the smile that spread on his face at the pictures and Jooheon’s excited tone, he melted inwardly and rubbed at his nose a little.
Jooheon sounded so happy about getting married to him and it made him feel things he never thought he would feel.
“Are you done with what you were doing?” Minho’s train of thought was broken by his boyfriend’s voice. He nodded, going to the kitchen to make sure everything was off, and nothing was on the stove before coming back and sitting down.
“Yeah, I’m done we can look at through them for a while.” Minho smiled as he picked up an album that said ‘0 – 3’ on the front cover with a picture of a little chubby baby Jooheon and it was a nice bright golden yellow with a little crescent moon on the corner. “Awe, you were so chubby as a baby.” Jooheon froze a little at the wording but played it off with a laugh and nodded with a smile. Minho noticed he pushed away a specific album that had a ’20 – 23’ on it and unlike all the other ones it was light grey and didn’t have any cute stickers or engravements on the cover. “What’s wrong with this album?” He asked curiously as he furrowed his brows.
Jooheon chewed on his bottom lip as he tried avoiding the conversation all together but sighed as he didn’t know how to and instead gave in. “I…Minho…I haven’t told you everything about me. I was hoping I could skim over it and never mention it ever, but you deserve to know.” He flipped open 3 albums showing, one of them being the grey album. He looked at the pictures one showing him as a young kid, in his more late teens and the last looked a lot like current Jooheon. He pointed to his kid self, he was wearing a school uniform and had eyeliner or eye shadow that seemed to be rubbed and smudged around his eyes. He was less chubby around the face, but you could tell he was still slightly on the heavier side. “This was me in Year 10…” He started off as a he tried to piece together he thoughts.

SnakeFace episode 14 script
[prone to change]
[script under cut]
The five rushed through the rain to the York manor, which was the closest option though it was still a far way to run. Kim unlocked the front and ushered everyone inside before slamming the door against the wind.
“Mom!” Ivan shouted as he hung his coat up. “You home?”
“I’m upstairs!” Jamie replied. “I’ll be down in a minute.”
Kim gathered some towels for the five of them to dry off in the den. Joey fixed a fire while Kim left to make some hot cocoa.
“Hey, kids,” Jamie smiled. “Who’s this?”
“This is Hans,” Ivan said, towelling his hair dry. “His mom runs the cafe.”
“Well, hello, Hans. I’m Ivan’s mother.”
“Hello,” Hans smiled, hanging his letterman up in front of the fire.
“It doesn’t look like the storm is going to let up until later tonight,” Kim said, coming back with a bundle of steaming cups. “Hans, do you want to let your parents know you’ll be home late?”
“That’s probably a good idea- as long as it’s okay with your parents?”
“It’s fine with me,” Jamie said. “You’re welcome to stay as long as you like, Hans.”
The wolf smiled.
“Oh!” Val sat up. “My stuff should be coming in tomorrow, so there’ll probably be some packages delivered here.”
“Oh, rad?” Joey looked up. “What theme are you going for?”
“Probably something similar to my room at home.”
“Laaaaame.”
“I mean, I like how my room looks. It’s always dark because of the blackout curtains, so I like to have a lot of candles for a more subtle light source.”
“Look at you caring about room decor,” Ivan said. “I just threw stuff on the shelves and called it good.”
“Why would anyone ever let you decorate your own room.”
“You’re the one with sconces and dead roses as your choice of decoration.”
“Don’t have to worry about watering the roses if they’re already dead.”
“He has a point,” Joey admitted.
“Says the guy who panics at the sight of a wilting leaf.”
“I pride myself in my gardening skills.”
There was a pause. “So how long have you all known each other?” Hans asked.
“Well, I’ve known Ivan and Kim for about two weeks now,” Val said. “And Joey joined the gang on- was it Monday?”
“Yeah, about two days ago, then,” Joey confirmed.
“You guys act like you’ve known each other for years,” Hans chuckled.
“I think that might just be because of Joey’s sarcasm,” Val muttered.
“It’s a gift,” Joey said confidently.
Kim let Hans pick a room to stay the night in, bringing out some of the inflatable mattresses for him and Val. The wolf happened to choose the room next to Val’s, which shared one of the master bathrooms. Two sinks, a large bathtub, and a double-wide shower. The rooms were direct across the building from Ivan and Kim’s rooms, which were on either side of the second bathroom on the same floor. Joey’s room was on the adjacent wall with its own balcony. Kim made sure to cover Val’s window with the closest thing to blackout curtains in case the sun happened to be out the next morning.
“The storm isn’t supposed to let up until around eight in the morning,” Kim said as she covered the window. “But it’s better to be safe than sorry.”
“Yeah, I’d hate to wake up to third-degree sunburns,” Val joked. Kim rolled her eyes.
“I still think it’s amazing how well you all get along not even in two weeks of knowing each other.”
“You’re relevant to that comment too, you know. I mean, I’ve known you not even twenty-four hours and we’re practically sharing a room.”
“There are worse ways to get to know someone.”
“Alright, that should be good,” Kim stepped away from the window. “Sorry, it isn’t much, but it’ll keep you safe.”
“That’s all that really matters right now. If worse comes to worst, your parents are literal witch doctors.”
Kim laughed. “This is true.”

As someone who is getting their first non-student apartment and is very confused about setting up space, any tips for low budget interior decorating that isnt catalogue beige?
first: congrats!! that's a huge deal and incredibly exciting.
second: I think setting up someone's space is a really personal endeavor that depends heavily on the person living in said space and what they need out of it. advice isn't one-size-fits-all when it comes to the look of your ~abode~, and that doesn't even account for wild variations in taste.
third: I don't know if my advice is great for everyone; I have never bought furniture for myself 😅 I still sleep in the same bedframe that I had when I was a child, haha. my couch was a hand-me-down from an aunt (and is threadbare as proof); as for my table, I took from my cousin who was going to dump it on the curb; the thing my TV rests on isn't a console but rather the top section of my childhood desk that I've repurposed, haha. I hauled it all with me to my apartment when I moved lol.
that being said, all of that furniture isn't, like... nice stuff.
everything I have is scratched or scuffed or worse for wear. I think my TV is as old as dinosaurs (I inherited it from my dead great-aunt's house sale). I have to fight the second drawer on my dresser to get it closed every single time, since I've had that dresser since I was born. the only "nice" piece of furniture I have are the sideboard table my dad and I made by hand during quarantine, and the plant stand he made as a birthday gift and drove out to me a year or two ago.
while I think those pieces are really lovely and improve the space, I think the fact that the rest of my shit is pretty old and "Not Nice" actually speaks more to the stuff I did have control over, especially on a limited budget. you don't need expensive "nice" furniture to have a nice space. at all. trust me.
I think the key lies in surrounding yourself with things you like. I'm really big on art and have accumulated a lot of it over the years, everything from handmade simple pieces from relatives to cheap mass-produced prints to signed photography from an art fair [that was a moving-away gift from my parents]. give yourself time to discover stuff you like. your apartment doesn't have to stay the way it looks when you move in. I bought a new print in seattle just last year and hung it up, and I adore it!! allow yourself to see things you like, and collect them.
don't throw away decor just because you feel like you should have outgrown it. I kept the tapestry I hung up in my college dorm and it's now hanging on one of my walls, and I still like it just as much as I liked it back then, even if it's seen as a sort of ~juvenile~ decor style. [not to mention I have a flag hanging on one of my walls lol which SCREAMS "I studied abroad once:)" energy but I still love it :') and it reminds me fondly of my trip and how much I grew as a person/traveler]
keep surfaces clean and clear, and put Fun Found Objects on them. I remember when at my old job we all had to do this goofy workplace organization training and one of the beginning assessments was to figure out what your ~gathering spaces~ were in your own home, and my boss literally didn't believe me when I told her I only had 2 hahahaha. CLUTTER 👏 STRESSES 👏 PEOPLE 👏 OUT 👏 !!! my key to not allowing clutter is I only have ONE space where I'm allowed to put "where the fuck does this go" items (it's my table, since I rarely sit at it) and everything else has its place and needs to go there. that means I'm a fan of shelves and bookshelves, and the benefit of insisting upon shelves is you can put useful AND beautiful things on them so they look nice while also being functional. like, I've got a lovely navajo vase from the museum of native american history sitting on the same shelf where I keep my headphones. since I rarely host, I use a cute serving platter and matching dip bowl as a post-it note station on the surface of my sideboard table. those things are pulling double duty! they're useful but I've made them look cute, you know?
if you can keep plants alive: get plants. they're so great. they make your place look alive... and it's nice taking care of something :') if you need unkillable stuff, go with a snake plant and pothos plants. they have never failed me.
I've always had a really strong sense of surrounding myself with stuff I like. I can do that tastefully (the print of a cute painting of penguins in my entryway) or I can do it distastefully (the fuckin'... sid shrine of penguins goods above my work desk lol, which is truly the spiritual successor of the wall of my childhood bedroom that I filled with newspaper articles on twilight and pictures of the characters printed off of the family computer ahahaha), but...
I think people appreciate authenticity. whatever art or knick knacks or objects you possess (and enjoy), if you curate your space so it just... is comprised basically only of those things, people notice and they like it. even if it isn't to their taste, they can see you in that space, and they often find it cool.
tl;dr find a way to put your personality onto your walls and you'll do just fine!

Prologue
It was a trembling thing. Its burnt festering skin contrasted with the cool pure white of the temple floor. It curled around itself in a fetal position, limbs unsure of their placement as a newborn foal. It was a gangling thing, all bony joints and delicate skin that seeped infection. It rolled its head in a jittering movement, something similar to a puppet, red eyes looked up to the figure above it. It hissed a rattled breath, trying to form some sounds but it was barely anything more than a whisper.
"How do you plead, imp?" Ashtad, the Pillar of Justice and Righteousness, stood before this thing... a small vessel, so delicate yet firing at all cylinders, even in this fragile state.
Their faces were stone cold. Ashtad had suspected they already knew the answer to their question… but they waited anyway, for even now they felt bad for it. Sorrowful. Regretful. "How do you plead?"
The creature planted its hands, and 5 fingers splayed across the marble. Red blood -mortal blood, dribbled down its arms and it traced its veins. Its head hung low, hunched over as it worked its jaw open. The joints popped and cracked, "`Hou- How do you Plead? Imp.`" The creature mimicked, not perfectly but close enough to cause a flinch in the observers. "Nothing- I plead nothing, I am nothing, in—" It took a shuttered breath, catching in the hollow of its throat. "In your eyes? nothing new, something blue, something old, took hold, what a—" It gasped," what a desolate end? Hm? *just some fun" the creature rambled, spitting the coagulated blood from its throat.
Ashtad stepped back, disgusted and displeased with the naked thing. They turned to Hayat-Bás, Pillar of Life and Death, who was standing to their right.
Ashtad watched intently as they folded fabrics of reality into a small, tight sphere. Sounds similar to whispers cried out every time a new fold fell over top of the last. The imp responded to each fold, growing more and more human-like. It was not a sight for the weak of heart. The crackling of joints, the grunts, it was grotesque, to say the least.
"I'm disappointed in you, Imp. You have failed us."
Bás spoke with two voices, "The end is the beginning, and so will you return to the cycle that encompasses." They raised their hands towards the imp. One hand was made from a human skeleton, and the other hand was light green with colorful feathers, scales, and moss decorating it. In unison, they layered their gift-curse, the one of soul and body. To chain the creature to walk upon the earth it so recklessly doomed and free it from the awful power of divinity. The two watched impassively as the youngest pillar curled into a human form.
It felt pain, pain, pain. Its form- it was too tight and too loose, it grated-burned-soothed. Oh, it was pain. It nearly wanted to laugh instead of cry, because how else could this scenario be, but a comedy? Unconsciously, the tips of its mouth spread into a demented smile. A light corrupted feeling bubbled inside its chest. It climbed through it and came out as a giggle. The sound drew itself like the wind, biting and chilling, a remnant from its position.
Ashtad stomped on foot on the ground three times in rhythm and after the third time, the temple floor started to crack under the imp. The walls crumbled, and the ceiling caved in.
Human. To Elders, a fate worse than death. Ashatd felt sorry for the imp. But there was nothing more left to say, they knew that this thing would have to learn. They turned away and headed towards the back wall, where a set of runes lit up and opened a stone doorway leading to a bright light. Opposite that doorway, another opening crackled wide, but this one was dark and pooling. It was similar to a Black hole, sucking in everything it could.
Ashtad could hear the cries. Their pleas. They shed a single tear and left through the lightened doorway.
The imp screamed and screeched with the emphasis of a roaring hurricane, and the shards of the temple fell and it fell with it. It tumbled down down down, twisting and turning, get picked up and pushed down. Broken marble and stone scratched against him, bruising the already hurt skin. It turned, staring up at the sky.
The beautiful sky, gentle in its baby blue and cotton clouds. It could taste freedom on its tongue, faint as a kiss.

I think a lot of time things that seem unbearably bougie are actually just nice in a normal way, the problem is people can't always tell the difference and, in my experience, people who are doing some degree of performative poverty are exceptionally judgy when other people want things to be nice, because "nice" isn't visibly leftist or whatever.
to illustrate my point: I had an ex who grew up in a very nice house, and he wanted, more than anything, to live in a filthy squat. like that was his romantic ideal, to be smoking weed in squalor, and every time I roped him and his roommate (who was more reasonable) into just, cleaning, he would complain bitterly that I was ruining his carefully crafted aesthetic.
to be clear: his parents paid his rent. his mom got him a part-time job and also she was still doing his laundry.
in contrast, whenever I have hung out with people who were actually struggling, they'd always have made an effort to cozy up the place.
like, floors would be clean, walls decorated, kitchen a bit of a mess but the dishes done, bed made with a big fluffy tiger blanket, stuffed animals a line, scented candle or some incense going, tapestry and pride flags on the walls, couple of plants maybe, you know, just like 50$ of Cozy carefully collected over time from thriftstores, or gifts, or handmade, or picked up on the side of the road.
and like, people who grew up in nice houses see an effort to do your best to make things nice, and they start sniffing their noses in the air about how Bougie you must be with your scented candles and your fancy perfume.
man it sucks so many people on here have absolutely convinced themselves that entire categories of consumer goods like perfume are bougie. you are depriving yourself of little treats by just assuming you cant ever afford anything! this isnt an avocado toast post either im not saying 'just save up and buy it lol', i would never say that, what im saying is perfume (that is: scents in liquid, paste, oil or solid form intended to be worn as a personal adornment) as a commodity starts at "free" and gradually increases in price from there. my favorite perfumes are priced everywhere between $0 and $300. one of the most lauded amber scents in the world (regrettably JUST discontinued), "Amber Paste" by Kuumba Made, is one of those little hippie oils you get at Whole Foods and it cost $10.
and im not telling you to wear perfume, obviously people have allergies and shit, or just dont care for it, im talking to the people who WANT to own fragrances. im saying they aren't all going to cost $150.
you can also get unlimited (unlimited over a long enough timeline, they limit you to a couple or three per visit) free samples at a lot of sephoras and nordstroms if you live somewhere that has those stores (this depends on the location and a lot of other organic factors, you'll have to check ahead of time or just try it if you're nearby, it's sort of random). if you're actually buying something at sephora (and they have a lot of stuff that isn't a million dollars as well, despite their branding) ask for every free sample at checkout that they have. they will often load you up, and not just with perfume. secondhand outlets like Value Village and Goodwill also do huge business in perfume because people are ALWAYS donating it.
sephora also does perfume refills. if you actually do buy a full size bottle, they can refill it for much less than buying a whole new bottle of the stuff. i don't know exactly how much it costs because i havent used this service myself. and idk how careful yiou have to be about reeceipts either, but look into it if you bought a full size and its running out
idk it just bums me out there are all these people who actually want perfume and seem to think it's out of their price range. the really basement-tier dupes of popular brand scents are so good these days it's often worth dropping the $10 at Walmart or Rite Aid too.
some of my favorite ever perfumes were some weird crap i got in a crystal wizard store, or a drug store, or a goodwill, or whatever. if you want perfume you can get it
#tales from art school#I don't get it but there you are#it's made me very suspect of anybody trying to say I live too nice#like buddy I made most of this#you could be comfy too

Wedding Tent Decorators: The Key to a Dreamy Outdoor Wedding
Planning a wedding is a daunting task, but planning an outdoor wedding can be even more challenging. One of the most crucial aspects of an outdoor wedding is creating a beautiful and comfortable atmosphere. This is where wedding tent decorators come into play. In this article, we will discuss everything you need to know about wedding tent decorators, from their role in your wedding to how to choose the right one for your big day.
1. What are Wedding Tent Decorators?
Wedding tent decorators are professionals who specialize in creating a stunning and functional atmosphere in a wedding tent. They are responsible for everything from setting up the tent to adding decorations, lighting, and furniture to make the space look beautiful and welcoming.
2. Why are Wedding Tent Decorators Important?
Wedding tent decorators play a vital role in creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for you and your guests. They can transform an empty outdoor space into a dreamy and magical venue that matches your vision and style. They also ensure that the tent is functional, safe, and comfortable, no matter the weather conditions.
3. Types of Wedding Tents
Before you start thinking about decorating your wedding tent, it is essential to choose the right type of tent for your wedding style and location. Here are some common types of wedding tents:
Frame Tents: These tents have a metal frame and can be set up on any surface, making them ideal for uneven terrain or hard surfaces like concrete. They can also be customized with different fabrics and decorations.
Pole Tents: These tents have a center pole and are anchored by ropes and stakes. They have a more traditional and elegant look and are perfect for outdoor weddings with a rustic or vintage theme.
Clear span Tents: These tents have a clear span structure and no interior poles, providing more space and flexibility for seating and decorations. They are also weather-resistant and can withstand wind, rain, and snow.
4. Tent Decorating Ideas
Once you have chosen the type of tent that fits your wedding style and location, it's time to decorate it. Here are some tents decorating ideas that will make your wedding tent look stunning:
1. Lighting
Lighting is one of the most critical elements of wedding tent decor. It sets the mood and ambiance of the space and can make it feel warm, romantic, and magical. Some lighting ideas to consider are:
String lights: They create a soft and romantic glow that adds warmth and intimacy to the space.
Chandeliers: They add elegance and sophistication to the tent and can be decorated with flowers or greenery.
Lanterns: They provide a cozy and intimate atmosphere and can be hung from the ceiling or placed on tables.
2. Drapery and Fabric
Adding drapery and fabric to your wedding tent can make it look luxurious and cozy. You can use different types of fabric to create different effects, such as:
Printed fabric: It can add a pop of color and pattern to the tent and can be used for table runners or napkins.
Sheer fabric: It creates a romantic and dreamy atmosphere and can be used to separate different areas of the tent.
3. Flowers and Greenery
Flowers and greenery are a classic and timeless wedding decoration that can add color, texture, and fragrance to your tent. Some ideas for using flowers and greenery in your wedding tent are:
Flower arrangements: They can be used as centerpieces, aisle markers, or to decorate the entrance of the tent.
Garlands: They can be used to decorate the ceiling, poles, or walls of the tent and add a natural and organic touch to the space.
Potted plants: They can be used to create a green and lush environment inside the tent and can be used as favors or gifts for your guests.
4. Table Settings and Furniture
Table settings and furniture are essential to creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere in your wedding tent. Here are some ideas for table settings and furniture:
Tablecloths and napkins: They can be used to add color, texture, and pattern to the tables and chairs.
Chair covers and sashes: They can be used to dress up the chairs and create a cohesive look with the rest of the decor.
Lounge furniture: It can be used to create a cozy and intimate space for your guests to relax and socialize.
Seating charts and table numbers: They can be used to organize the seating arrangements and add a personalized touch to the decor.
5. Accessories and Decorations
Finally, adding accessories and decorations to your wedding tent can make it feel complete and polished. Some ideas for accessories and decorations are:
Signage: It can be used to direct your guests to different areas of the tent or display a message or quote that is meaningful to you.
Photo booth: It can be used to create fun and memorable moments for your guests and add a playful and interactive element to the decor.
Lanterns and candles: They can be used to create a cozy and romantic atmosphere and add a warm and inviting glow to the space.
Unique details: They can be used to add a personal touch to the decor and make your wedding tent stand out, such as using vintage suitcases as tables or hanging family photos on the walls.
5. Choosing the Right Wedding Tent Decorator

Getting started with a Macrame project is easy. In fact, if you have ever made a bracelet before, you may be shocked to find how similar they are to make because they both include many knots. So here are the techniques you will have to learn to do Macrame.
Setting up
To make your plant hanger of Macrame, you will begin with a ring or a loop. You will have to secure this on something bulky to keep your project in place while you knit it. If you recommend standing up while you work, hanging it at the top of the door works well. Also, you can secure your ring and loop it around a table leg or a door knob using masking tape.
Measuring and cutting the cord
Before you start knitting, you will have to measure or cut your cord. Also, your project will tell you how many cords you will need and how much time your project will take. So take your time to measure correctly.
Common Macrame knots
Below are some most common knots you will find in Macrame projects:
Larks head knot
Vertical head knot
Half square knot
Square knot
Half knot spiral
Half hitch
Hanging the planter
When you finish knitting, now you have to hang your planter. Macrame plant hangers can easily be hung from the ceiling or on the wall with a wall-mounted plant hook.
So before hanging, make sure to find a wall stud or ceiling joist to screw into so that your planter is well supported. If you can’t find a joist or stud, then you can use a toggle screw anchor.

gifts they've given you
bonus characters: Luke & Simeon
word count: 700+
a record of the song that Lucifer composed for you, along with its sheet music gently bound together by a crimson-colored ribbon. he spent many nights working on and perfecting it for you. sometimes you'd sneak into the music room to see him and he'd quickly hide the sheet music with his cheeks tinted pink. he'd then pull out some sheet music for the two of you to play together, and gently rest his hands on top of yours (if you can't play, he'll happily teach you how!)
a pair of Mammon's sunglasses and one of his rings. he had caught you dancing in his room wearing his sunglasses one evening. and he practically melted into the floor from how cute you looked. he let you have them even though they were his favorite pair. he gave you one of his rings because whenever you play with or hold his hands you always comment on how pretty his rings are. he always blushes when you show it off or absentmindedly play with it in class.
headphones that Levi made specifically for you. he had noticed you kept having a hard time finding the perfect headphones to use while gaming with him or listening to music. he didn't want you to keep wasting grimm on another pair that either didn't last long, lost its sound quality, or felt uncomfortable to wear during long gaming sessions. so he spent hours making the perfect headphones for you with a design you would love. he even added a mini version of Henry 2.0 on the adjuster pieces.
there's a secret door in your room that leads to a book nook Satan built for you. the bookshelf you had was already filled to the brim, and finding some quiet time to read by yourself or with him was a rare occasion. inside were fairy lights and plants that hung from the ceiling, shelves filled with your favorite books, wall decor you liked, and a comfortable resting spot full of pillows and blankets. it's also the perfect place for you and him to take cat naps together.
outfits and jewelery that Asmo has made and designed for you. he loves it when you let him dress you up or when you show up to an event in an outfit he designed for you. you take his breath away every time and he has to contain himself from taking them off of you at the end of the night. body piercings, rings, bracelets, chokers, and necklaces litter your dresser. don't worry he got you pretty jewelry boxes and stands to keep them all safe and on display.
you have a sheep, cheeseburger, and sushi roll plushie that Beel bought for you on your birthday one year. you have them lined up neatly against the wall in your bed. Beel has had to hunt Belphie down a couple of times to get them back (that little shit-) you also have one of his t-shirts that's covered in his scent and you either sleep in it or use it as a pillowcase. he's happy to wear it again whenever his scent has faded.
your ceiling is COVERED in glow stars, moons, and planets. Belphie had spent hours carefully placing them on your ceiling. it took so long because he was replicating all the constellations, and even added a new constellation right above your bed to symbolize you, him, and Beel. one time while he was napping in your room a star had dropped onto his cheek and he came to dinner that evening with it still stuck on him.
a copy of a fanfic that Simeon wrote one time about the two of you when he had a bit too much demonus. he had written the entire thing in one night and left hearts on each corner of the pages. you sometimes quote lines from the fanfic just to see him get flustered and start mumbling incoherent sentences. it's tucked away neatly on your bookshelf next to the folder of love letters and poetry he's written for you.
a framed photo of you and Luke after winning a baking competition (Simeon sobbed while taking the picture) it depicted you smiling with your arms wrapped around him and an adorable smile plastered across his face as he held up the first-place ribbon. you both signed the back of the frame with the date and added a heart and smiley face next to each other's names. the frame is baby-blue with glittery gold stars. and it sits proudly on your nightstand.

WIP: Meet the Family
Hunter has been officially adopted by Darius and is going to spend the weekend with the rest of the Deamonne family. wip for a fic about my OCs from my main @xxpurpleshadowsxx
Hunter was fidgeting in his seat. He tried his best to calm his anxiety by staring out the carriage window, to no avail.
“You okay?” Darius asked, looking up from his book. He was sitting opposite the grimwalker, the pair travelling in what Hunter had felt was an unnecessarily purple carriage pulled by an abomination horse.
“I’m fine! I mean, why wouldn’t I be?! I’m just meeting my new family, why would that make me nervous?!” Hunter rambled, drumming his knees and smiling awkwardly.
Darius raised a brow. Hunter sighed and drooped slightly.
“It’s just… what if they don’t like me?”
Darius smiled and ruffled Hunter’s hair. “They’ll like you just fine. Last time I called Mamá she was gushing about all the presents she and Mom bought you. I imagine my brothers have as well.”
Hunter’s brow furrowed. “What do I have to do to earn the gifts?”
Darius held back a depressed sigh. “Hunter, you’re the first grandchild. My mothers have been waiting years for this. Your only job this weekend is to let yourself be spoiled.”
“But what if I mess up?! What if I forget someone’s name?! And why do you have eight brothers?! That’s so many to remember!”
“My mothers wanted a big family. Nine kids was a bit excessive but I can’t really do anything about that,” Darius chuckled. “In any case, no one will mind if you get mixed up.”
Hunter wanted to say more but could see they were approaching a high wall covered in ivy. Oh Titan, they had arrived. Hunter struggled to control his breathing.
“Little Prince, it’s going to be okay, I promise. They already adore you.”
Hunter nodded, trying to remember Gus’ breathing exercise. In for 4, hold, out for 4.
It would be okay, he was okay.
He barely heard the iron gates swing open as the carriage approached, though he did note as they rode past that they were controlled by the ivy decorating the walls of the estate.
Looking out the window seemed to finally be working, no longer looking at a forest, the land here meticulously well kept yet sprawling and wild with fascinating flora; beautiful flower beds full of yellow and purple blooms, trees and hedges twisted and shaped by magic into incredible structures. Willow would love this place.
As the carriage came to a stop he finally calmed down, though he still felt slightly ill with anxiety. At least he didn’t feel faint anymore.
“There you go. Do you need a minute before we get out? Do you need anything to eat, you look a bit pale?”
Hunter swallowed. “I just need a second, thanks.”
He took another look out the window. They had stopped at the mansion, right at the centre of the estate. The building stood there as if the surrounding nature had embraced it, that the flora flowed within it as much as around it as plants hung and grew out of the open windows, and more ivy and yellow flowers grew up and around the ancient looking walls.
“I think I’m okay now.”
