Hey bestie, for the past few months sometimes I would tell you to go back to sleep or to wake up after each race (the power of time zones). I don't make as many posts on here as I used to, because when I started this blog I was a little shit and now I almost have a bachelors degree (which is insane), but yesterday I remembered this random thing about this account (thx to bestie @binarystarkillers) that I'm not sure I ever shared, so I thought I'd do it now:

Obviously, we've made no secret of the lachambers discord. It's not really active at the moment, but it still exists. When we got a little influx of new members and everyone did their little intros, and included their Tumblr blogs, I did my own and said "I'm Frank blah blah, my blog is lachambers-central" and someone was like "omg??? you're lachambers-central??? aaaa that was like one of the first blogs I found when there was like 0 lachambers content" (obviously this is paraphrasing and I'm sorry I can't remember the blog who said this to me).

And here's the thing: I will never consider myself a famous Tumblr blog, not on here and especially not on my main blog. However, I'm not completely oblivious to the impact this blog has had on our tiny community. We were like 6 people with a dream when we started out (ily @train-dodge @dreashappyworld @bi-gordie @binarystarkillers & Robin wherever you are), and now this community has grown so much (not to crazy fandom levels, let's hope that never happens), and someone just telling me straight up that my blog has had some tiny impact was just such a cool moment for me, one of the coolest moments ever tbh.

I'm really proud to be a part of this community and I have so much love for the people in it. And although we're not just six people screaming at each other anymore, this blog will always mean a lot to me, and it means a lot that it has meant something to other people as well.

if you're wondering who aadarshini, aanya, benjamin, lavinia and inez are - they're all oc's of mine! i wanted to include more indian wizarding families, so i decided to take matters into my own hands.

↳ The Patil Family

the patil's are the family that the patil twins are born to (and because the patil's are pakistani in my dr, the twins are pakistani/tamil). benjamin is in the same year as the marauders at hogwarts and is close friends with james and i. this is mostly because the indian wizarding community in britain is small so most of us all know each other anyways. lavinia is the oldest, basically the school's golden girl. she's so smart and educated. inez is the youngest of the patil's and is the school's cinnamon roll. it's impossible to hate her! ben's the class clown that is submitting his assignments at 11:59:59. they're all members of gryffindor house, it basically runs in their blood.

↳ The Viswanathan Family

the viswanathan's are an entirely oc based family that i made up. they're a tamil wizarding family (much like us potters in my dr). they have two kids, aadarshini and adya who are three years apart. aadarshini who often goes by darsh or addy, is in the same year as the marauders and i. consequently, adya is three years younger than us. aadarshini is a ravenclaw and adya is a proud hufflepuff.

The three families often meet up for various events throughout the year and are incredibly close knit. We all celebrate Diwali together. James and Ben are often stuck in the middle of five teenage girls, which is a nightmare for them because together we can be very devious >:)

Eventually, Aadarishini and Benjamin get married at some point in the future and have the Patil twins (Padma and Parvati).

He’d rather sit it out with Mary or Remus than be involved in anything that could hurt someone else. Amelia Pettigrew is two years younger than Peter, the siblings are very very close - and Peter takes much care in making his sister happy. Amelia is a shy Hufflepuff, but character development is good to her and eventually she learns to stand her ground.

so i take a while especially to longer comments bc i wanna give it justice? idk. i already struggle a lot with responding to my besties' texts so yeh ao3 comments aren't my priority unfortunately. they do mean everything to me and i screenshot them and read them and reread them and read them again like 😭😭

6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

hmmm i think it's my unfinished french Yuri!!! on Ice fic lmao. the ending is still in the drafts but it's very bittersweet bc the main relationship doesn't like, fall in love together and all. i play with that trope of "i'm not gonna fall in love!! *does anyway*" with an aro character and they will not, in fact, fall in love.

but the other character will with someone else and so it's this change of relationship that can get pretty heartbreaking still, bc something is still ending. well, more like evolving into smth else but a huge part of what they've shared is kinda lost and it's sad (<- fic written by a situationship survivor)

7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

amidsts ashes and feathers TO ME!!! The Way Home's pretty happy as well but blablabla they kiss romance whatever, it's an easy answer.

now my Mary's fic is about finding community and she starts to collect every part of herself to be herself and she finally feels welcome somewhere 💕 pretty open ending and it's not much about reconnecting with dean & sam it's about taking steps yipeee

oh for sure my dean & sam portraits. i had actually started a kind of sequel to You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect, that was like, "From the same soil we've grown and yet he doesn't know"

GOOD stuff in there, but it was back in 2021. since then my spn takes have changed so even if i took it back up i'd have to rewrite it from scratch + i'm not super interested in it anymore. i started this at a specific time in my life, and now i'm onto new things, different issues, same themes but different takes!

16. what are your writing strengths?

poetic prose!! it's about creating emotions and imageries.... lots of my fics are character studies for a reason, i just like exploring ideas and that's what i've been doing for the longest time

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

worldbuiling LMAO. do NOT look too closely into my fics' timeline and chronology, i try my best but there's also a point where i stop trying. sometimes everything is vague bc it says smth with the story and/or bc it goes with the genre, but also bc it's vague in my own head

18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?

i did that!! i think sometimes it's a better choice depending what the story is saying, like slipping some foreign language than one character speak and not the other to say smth (show what a character is still too afraid to say / it's hot / etc). in The Way Home i tried to insert actual ASL in some dialogues, and it felt important both for the disabled rights and bc like, bilingual life sometimes you have the right word in one language and not the other (and again, it says smth)

sometimes it's not quite relevant to actually write it down in the language, just mentioning what it is is enough. different choices for different contexts and stories 🤷‍♂️

19. favorite fic you've written?

The Way Home 💖 i love amidst ashes and feathers so much i have to mention it as well. but ultimately i have a fondness for longer stories bc i have very few of them!! The Way Home is a first in that regard, longest finished work of mine. i spent 3 years with this story and it's gonna be forever with me just like the city i left behind when i posted the last chapter :) it means a lot on a personal level

This one is difficult.... In high school I got a technician degree on graphic design and took a bunch of related classes, probably in those.... Probably on... Artistic drawing and technical drawing... I think I did good in color theory but can't remember what class that was... I used to be good at math too, but don't ask me about it anymore... Yup!! Looking at other's thoughts on this subject always make me feel like I'm probably naive hahaha but... I believe true love exist and I believe it is for everyone. Maybe it's not the same for everyone tho, for example, my bestie es aromantic, but he finds his true love in platonic and familial love. He loves and adores his friends and family. Maybe this isn't the concept people were hoping for, but to me love is such a huge thing that creeps it's way into our lives, might or might not present itself how we would expect it to.

But focusing only on romantic love? Yeah I also believe it exists. From what I've seen it's probably difficult to find, isn't it? But I'm sure it exist and it's a beautiful feeling... Of course it's not gonna be perfect tho, it's two (or more, depending on the people) little humans who are flawed, who have to deal with their problems and mistakes. There might be turbulences, but with communication, boundaries, trust and love, things can stay healthy and get better get better

“The kid’s care is entwined with your own.” That’s such a triggering phrase for Shauna and you can see it in her eyes.

The tears in Shauna’s eyes as she talks to Lottie. This is all about motherhood to her. This entire season, from the past to the present, has been.

I’m so fucking unwell about this. I think I’m gonna do a fuller write-up on this moment later, so for now, God, Melanie Fucking Lynskey. And also, that she has this breakdown to Lottie is powerful. In the past, she’s hated Lottie, hated her for trying to encroach on her baby, hated her for becoming their shaman, but here, she confides in her with this terrible pain about motherhood that she’s been keeping inside.

Ahhhh, just a little bit of self-promotion here, but in my Shauna + Callie fic, I was thinking a lot about Shauna’s relationship with motherhood: “But goodness has never come naturally to Shauna, and motherhood is a gaping wound that won’t ever stop bleeding. (A placenta on the dirty floor. So much red, streaming out of her, simply pouring. Don’t you hear him cry? Why can’t you hear him?)” And I think the crux of that, which holds true in this scene, is the fundamental idea that motherhood continually hurts Shauna, and it always goes back to those woods.

RP PET PEEVE : I have a few different ones but my main 2 are probably having your entire character revolve around shipping and also having a stupidly powerful character and then just. Not elaborating at all. I've been in groups where the entire theme is MURDER and HORROR and yet they spend the whole time making out and ignoring any plot hooks. I've also seen characters who can apparently take on gods or have ridiculous powers but that whole backstory is ignored, never used or has no depth to it. Like if they're an all powerful god, what does their role involve? What are their worshippers like? What's their influence in the world? There's no point having an OP character if all you use them for is to flirt around or just have an excuse to counter everything against them so they never show weakness.

PLOTS OR MEMES : I Memes are easier for me to answer quickly, but I'm a huge sucker for plots. Even if we never get around to writing them properly, I love throwing around ideas or blabbing on about stupid scenarios or AUs or relationships AAA. For the most part, a lot of my ocs kind of spring from personal experiences though. Jack was a way to kind of process my own situation. At times Specs is a bit of a vent character, but also just kind of a comfort character to help me through it. Alistair is a stand in for people I despise and sort of acts like a punching bag (though I haven't written him in ages for personal reasons lol) and characters like Lust, Dorian and William are kind of based around me as a person. All in all, I love most of my muses and oc (through they are on thin ice lol). If they were real I'd like to get to meet some of them one day.

before the no's, here's my writing style!

so, for any people wondering, yes i do write correctly whenever im writing a fic. i do capatalize my i's and capatalize the first letter of every sentence, plus names (sometimes, unless its just not a very serious fic or oneshot then i wont pls no bullying xoxo). i just don't do all of that when im not writing, and sometimes i even do it by accident because its imprinted in my brain to write grammatically correctly. so, let me write a little paragraph about some random crap and show you guys that im not as horrible of a writer as i seem !

emily had never seen hotch in such a vulnerable state like this, holding onto lexi's cheek while she was in his lap as his tears fell onto her almost lifeless body. but before lexi could protest about how it was definitely a girl, the medics arrived in the room and took a look at her wounds before taking her out to the ambulance, hotch of course following with and going in the ambulance with her.

YEAH HELLO IM BACK YOOOOOO,,,, that was a little thing i wrote with my oc. so i only write in third person (most of the time) and that is because writing in second or first person is super hard for me?? with the amount of y/n stories i read it should be easy, but i guess not.

obviously when i have actual inspiration i will write probably 10x better than usual, whenever i dont have motivation or inspiration it feels like all my writiny abilities fall into a void (REAL, NOT CLICKBAIT)

i honestly only need a paragraph or two for the no's so

i wont write anything sexual for any type of incest or underaged characters, i wont write anything that actually disgusts me in general, and the basic no's. i wont write for certain characters in movies, shows, or video games because i either dont like to, havent seen the show/movie or havent played the game, or i just dont know how to write out that characters personality. i hope you guys understand!!
