And that is!! 18 of 18 pages!! It's this long because I didn't want to break up their fight. I hope you enjoy :)

I had to rewrite their fight like,,, 3 times lmao. I'm not very good at writing fights because I'm Incredibly Passive Aggressive and Very Non Confrontational. Thankfully my partner helped me out a bit with making the escalation feel natural, so hopefully their grievances and motivations read well. In the end, both of them are starving probably-emotionally-stunted teenage boys in a high-stress situation, and Tage is being faced constantly with one of the biggest sources of his trauma that he doesn't even remember-- of course he's going to lash out.

Fun thing I learned this time around, if I struggle with planning a chapter, it can kind of help to write it out in prose like I would a fanfic, and then translate it to comic form. This is how I eventually ended up with 18 pages of comic,,, because I can't really estimate how much I'll need to draw when I'm writing in prose. In turn, this did help a lot with adding more natural behaviors between dialogue, like Tage tapping his finger to fidget while crossing his arm, or all of their pointing and gesturing while they're arguing.

Forgive me if this comes across as strange, but I really enjoy the rich color you use for blood in your drawings. It's great for contrast against Machete's otherwise pale complexion, but it also really conveys the blood's vitality - it makes it feel alive and living, warm, even. That color, and all your art, really, is vibrant and full of life, enough so that it challenges the negative associations of death and injury that blood conveys. I just wish poor Machete had more of it inside him than outside

Thank you! I've never thought about it from that angle.

I know that realistically I should color the blood darker, maybe with a more maroon tint, but the visual intensity of vivid scarlet is just irresistable to me I guess. The excuse I tell myself is that in Machete's case, his white fur naturally provides the lightest possible background for that blood to sit on, maximizing the brightness and vibrancy it has to offer.

This is beside the point but I've also understood that anemia can affect the color of your blood if severe enough, but I'm not a medical professional so I can't really verify how visible that is to a naked eye. Not having enough hemoglobin makes it look diluted in a way.

also, like, re: adult coloring with alcohol markers specifically, if you struggle with grip, tremor, pressing too hard with pencils, other hand issues and fine motor etc - i'm finding the alcohol markers to be particularly satisfying for controlling with a tight and aggressive grip while their smooth flow makes it so really don't have to press at all, let alone worry about how hard, and they're forgiving enough that a shaky hand can go unnoticed once you're familiar with them. they actually work better for me than regular markers, which I always oversaturate and tear the paper with because I don't have the control necessary for the smooth back and forth people do, but these alcohol markers can thrive with smaller jerkier movements
