LEI'S BIRTHDAY!!!

September 17th is my OC, Lei's, birthday!!! so I had to really crunch and draw some art for her 😭😭😭 So busy nowadays.

Everyone say happy birthday to the bestest girl there is 😤😤😤 She deserves only the best (I love her so much 🥺🥺🥺) I really like how her outfit turned out! It's Chinese-inspired because she is half, after all. I really like the placement of the flowers and the vines but I will be honest that it's a CSP brush LOL. I love CSP brushes so much. The lotus hair accessories were kind of accidental, I had a flower crown originally but it didn't fit the aesthetic (they were roses). So thus these were born!

Her birthday is Sept 17 because I wanted an Autumn birthday for her and I wanted her to be a Virgo (astrological sign wise). It was either the 17th or 19th but I settled on the 17th cuz I thought it would suit her better (Vibes, I guess XD).

Since her campaign takes place in the Autumn, I imagine that at the end of her backstory, the night before she was arrested, she was enjoying drinks with Ceres and Elise! ;w; I'm guessing it's actually later in Autumn (Oct or Nov) and they just had difficulty scheduling since they're all doctors! For the sake of cuteness, I am going to headcanon Ceres is the one who set it up, since Lei set up something for Ceres' birthday (see Treasure Box of Memories bonus #1). This is extra painful cuz she was supposed to have a nice night with her friends (and then got too drunk LOL cuz she was frustrated with the project Prism put her on) AND THEN AFTER she got arrested and all the s*** happened to her 😭😭😭

Come to think of it, Vail (in that 1 phone call) stated he has a gift for her 👀👀 (implied it's a cat) There was no reason for him to get her gift (and she even said that BUT THE GUY HUNG UP BEFORE HE COULD ANSWER THE QUESTION) I am going to headcanon it's cuz it was her birthday (even though the DM/Keeper doesn't know this XD) If I'm high on delulu copium it's cuz you know 😳😳😳 maybe he's going to ask her out (sorry I'm always coping) but like why would he get her a gift? I don't understand 😔😔😔 Everyday I pray she lives so that I can find out all these things.

B didn't like the funeral.

He didn't like the black clothes. The Victorian element of it all. He didn't like the church.

He didn't like A's grave.

He sat on the grass covered in weeds and ripped them out, then ripped out the flowers too and stared at the stone.

A was dead.

Stone was the rest of them.

No.

They were there.

B ripped the grass away. Then the dirt. He ripped at the wood and their flesh and held their heart.

A was dead.

B was next.

There was very little blood.

Between the lines of alpha and beta, half a heartbeat made two one.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELISE!!!!

Two pieces in one weekend? Crazy, huh? But I had to draw birthday girl Elise!!!

I tried to keep it as similar to last year's piece (It's crazy it's been a year) so that I could see the improvement : O I think I'm a lot better at making hair a bit more flowy, the hand drawing game SEVERELY improved, I can draw some!!!! clothing folds now!!! and the shape of the body is better??? I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the face orz I did this in a rush but I think Elise should have more downturned, soft looking eyes 😔 I'll do that for next time...

AND THUS!!! Concludes my Lei + friends 2024 birthday series 🥺🥺🥺 i want to compile them at the end maybe??? to see the improvement from Vail --> Elise!!! In this year's birthday series, Lei's friends were in white turtlenecks and Lei's children were in black turtlenecks!!! Next year for 2025 I'm thinking a flower series 👀 with everyone's theme flower/plant 👀👀👀

so the nominations for the magnolia awards are finally out. the bad news is three-body didn’t get any acting nominations even though wang ziwen was a fan favourite for the best actress category. there was also a lot of hope for zhang luyi to be nominated. but it is what it is...

but the good news is that we still got 5 nominations:

three-body for best tv series

yang lei for best director

tian liangliang for best adapted screenplay

three-body for best cinematography

three-body for best art direction

i didn’t get the energy to fact check this, but some people are saying the best actor award and best tv series are almost never for the same series in magnolia awards, so it’s likely that three-body is going for a win as the best tv series, which is going to be something that every cast and crew can be proud of. 

(honestly i just want to see zhang luyi coming out of hibernation lol; btw did any of you see yu hewei at the huabiao awards?)
