There is one noted right-wing lawyer who has a show on YouTube and other places. He's not known for winning cases. (He gets his money from blogging and betting.

Change of scenery for studying this week…
Was feeling down so I skipped my class and went and studied at a local coffee/wine bar. It was lunch time so I got the most delicious pizza. Nothing like some good food to get you through writing a brief 😓

When I tell y’all I was STRESSED. Not in a “ I have get all of this done, I can’t even get up to eat” type of way, rather “I’m so stressed that I can’t even sit down because of how overwhelming everything is” type of way. Not to give tmi but I was crying and throwing up the whole day (literally) and then I guess it got to a point where I mentally couldn’t take it anymore so it just stopped. So yeah I’m back to not being stressed. I have an exam in two days but like I said I’m pretty calm. It’s the easiest one anyway so hopefully I’ll be fine. Plus, the weather was amazing, I went out and had a snowball fight with friends.

Late night study sessions might feel exhausting, but they're also some of the most rewarding moments in your academic journey. When the world is quiet, and it's just you and your books, you have the opportunity to dive deep into your studies, to understand, and to grow. Remember, every hour you put in, every note you take, and every concept you master is a step closer to your goals.
It's okay to feel tired. It's okay to take breaks. But never forget the power of persistence. Each time you push through, you're building not just your knowledge, but also your resilience. This is your journey, and while it might not always be easy, it's worth it.
So, surround yourself with what inspires you whether it's a cup of coffee, your favorite study playlist, or motivational quotes that keep you going. You’ve got this. Keep your head up, your mind sharp, and your heart determined. Every challenge you overcome is a victory, every question you answer is progress.
Stay focused, stay motivated, and remember why you started. You’re capable of more than you know, and this is just one step on your path to success. Keep going. The effort you put in today will pay off tomorrow.

A list of my favourite legal latin expressions + what they mean
(aka latin is cool in specific legal contexts and we should keep on using it because it commucates what we mean more efficiently that if we had to find a way to say it in modern languages, BUT ALSO latin should not be a barrier to understanding legal language, the law is SHOULD be understandable and non elitist)
Erga Omnes / Inter partes : " we are making this EVERYONE'S BUSINESS" vs "this is a you-problem, so you get a you-solution"
Ex tunc / Ex nunc : "let's all pretend this has always been the rule" vs "cant do shit about the past, this is only for the future"
Nulla poena sine legem / nulla poena sine culpa: "no punishment without a rule being broken" / "no punishment if there wasn't a fuckup of some kind on your part"
Pater is est.../mater siempre... : "let's ... assume the daddy is the wife's husband, for now" vs "we all SAW where/who that baby CAME FROM"
de lega lata / de lege ferranda : "I'm saying that's what the law IS, tough luck" vs "I'm saying that's what the law SHOULD BE though"
Obiter Dictum : Court decided it had an opinion, and it wasn't going to be stopped by the fact that this opinion had nothing to do with the case
Fraus omnia corrumpit: Fraud. Corrupts. All.
Ex officio: No one asked, but i'm gonna do it anyway
Nemo auditur...: No you can't benefit from your own fuckup
Clausula Rebus: we agreed during specific circumstances... unfortunately, circumstances have changed.
Usucapio: I've been calling dibs on this for so long, at this point it's legally mine.
Ad nutum: because I WANT to, no I don't need to explain or justify that.
Sui generis: it's... it's its own thing.
Intuitu personae: this is based on THAT person - if it's not THAT person, all bets are off
Pacta Sund Servanda : you fucking SIGNED THE THING so now yes you gotta DO THE THING

01.08.2025
what happens to the promises we make to ourselves the first week of january? among my resolutions this year are two classic aspirations—eating better and reading more. back in university, i used to complain endlessly about not having time to read for pleasure, blaming the relentless churn of assignments and exams. now, with a full-time job, i’ve realized that the excuses haven’t left; they’ve simply evolved.
toward the end of last year, i noticed something curious: i wasn’t just neglecting books; i was actively avoiding them, using “too tired” and “too busy” as flimsy shields for procrastination. reading—a former love—had somehow become a chore. but today felt different.
fueled by a hearty poke bowl, brimming with nutrients and good intentions, i finally dusted off a book that’s been staring at me from my desk for months. as i turned the pages, i felt a flicker of something familiar—an energy that wasn’t just from the omega-3s in the avocado and seeds but from the joy of reconnecting with an old habit.
i’m hoping my return to tumblr, another space that used to bring me joy, will help me stay motivated and accountable in sustaining these goals. small steps, perhaps, but they feel like the start of something meaningful.

And at the end of the day... What matters most is if you felt alive
What is the point of high grades if you went days in a row without feeling the sun on your skin, without hearing the birds and without smelling a flower?
Studying is important. Being prepared for your future is important.
But living is even more so.
Don't forget to cherish the small joys of life
1/6 exams to go

Disabled people (both people with physical disabilities and people with psychological disabilities) should be able to get housing, food, medical needs, etc met without having to work or stay in school. ...Okay, really, everyone deserves access to free or affordable housing, food, and medical care, but disabled people ESPECIALLY deserve it because if I, a law student with "low support needs" autism, depression, GAD, OCD, and ADHD, cannot afford to take a break from school and take a semester off because I'd have to start repaying my loans because I had to drop down to three credits last fall and because I would have to get a job, so it wouldn't really be a break (which, I have had one job in my life, and I'm not fully convinced it wasn't a fluke, and also, trying to maintain a job when you have disabilities is difficult), I can only imagine that disabled people with higher support needs are even more fucked than me when it comes to being able to get housing and food and medical care without much, if any, funding.
Yes, Medicaid, Medicare, Food Stamps, and housing programs exist in the US, but, uh, I hate to break it to y'all, but that doesn't fully fix the problem, at all. There are a lot of old apartment complexes that are straight up inaccessible if you use a wheelchair. I'm living in one now. Applying for Medicaid and other programs can be a pain in the ass, especially when you're disabled.
"Just live with your parents!" My parents were emotionally abusive and emotionally neglectful, transphobic, and they literally harassed me so much during my 1L year that I still have nightmares.
"Live with a roommate!" I tried to. It went fucking terribly.
"Are you really disabled if you're able to be in law school?" YES. YES I AM.
Actually, on that note, law schools and the law profession need to become more accommodating for disabled people ASAP. Buck v. Bell needs to be overturned. Courts should be wheelchair accessible. Having to get past seven plus different forms of ableism just to graduate and pass the bar is ridiculous. Seriously, can we get some resources for disabled people in law school and the law profession, please?
Disabled rights matter, and we have every right to be able to live in peace and get our needs met, regardless of our support needs, disabilities, or anything else.
