Guess who's back on her bullshit? It's me. Hi, I am. I need to tell you all about an idea that's living in my head rent free right now because it's almost LadyNoir July and for a long time I have wanted to write a LadyNoir fic where LB is in mad denial about her feelings for Chat because much like my favorite thing to write with Adrinette is Adrien being in denial about his feelings for Marinette and they slowly escalate until he eventually goes "oh shit," my favorite LadyNoir things are LB knowing she loves Chat but trying hella hard to put a lid on that shit because it can't happen.
So, like alternate s2 timeline post-glaciator, the rivals never amount to anything, and LB instead is real hot and bothered about Glaciator. (I'm still salty we've never seen her question that moment once. Bitch you blushed!!) She's just pacing around her room, staring pensively at her Adrien photos, and Tikki is like you good, fam?
"No, I'm not."
She sits down on her chaise with a frustrated sigh, leaning grumpily against her fist. Like how dare he? Be in love with her for real?? And actually do things that are sweet and romantic?? When Adrien exists??
When Tikki seems confused, Marinette gets up again and resumes pacing, rambling about how she is in love with Adrien. Period. No one else. Especially not Chat Noir. He's not even her type. She hates blonds. Adrien is just the exception to the rule. Duh.
She picks up the rose again and groans, annoyed by how hot it makes her cheeks. Who the hell gave Chat Noir permission to be cute?? Whomst???
Tikki: I'm sensing you have some pent up frustrations with Chat Noir.
Marinette: I do not! What gave you that idea?
Tikki: Well, you've been walking around your room rambling about him for the past 40 minutes.
Marinette: And?
When Tikki gives her the 🤨 Marinette is like okay fine! I may have thought for a brief moment just in passing, totally casual, that Chat Noir is kinda cute. And sweet. And he's super dependable and trustworthy, and he makes me laugh sometimes. And if I'm being honest that suit fits him really well. Not that I've ever looked. But that doesn't mean I'm in love with him!
Tikki: okay.
Marinette: Just because I kissed him that one time and thought about it for a week doesnt mean I like him.
Tikki: alright.
Marinette: I mean, I really thought about that kiss. What kind of chapstick does he use? His lips always look so soft...
Tikki: why don't you ask him?
Marinette: Because then he'll know I was thinking about kissing him! And he'll do that thing where he smiles all smug-like and calls me bugaboo and he'll say something like "meow, m'lady, if you're offering your tongue to a cat, would you consider this one?" He cannot know that I think about kissing him.
Tikki: So don't ask him?
Marinette: Right. Because I am absolutely not in love with him, and I don't even want him to think that I am.
Tikki: You should tell him that. Maybe he'll move on to another girl.
Marinette: Move on?? No, no, no. He's in love with me. The only thing he needs to move is that butt over to me, so he can call me m'lady!
Tikki: But if you're not in love with him, isn't it only fair that he go be with someone else who loves him too.
Marinette: We're not talking about me, we're talking about him, and he's in love with ME.
Tikki: But you don't want to date him?
Marinette: God, no. Haven't you been listening? I'm in love with Adrien. Chat Noir is just my super hot and surprisingly romantic partner that I sometimes fantasize about kissing.
Tikki: And you're not in love with Chat Noir?
Marinette: Of course, I'm in love with him! Why do you think I've been pacing my bedroom for an hour?? I'm stressed!
Tikki: Well, if you are in love with him, isn't that a good thing? He loves you too!
Marinette: No, Tikki! Chat Noir is my partner. We can't date each other! I mean, I know everyone in Paris ships us, and clearly, Chat knows his way around a romantic picnic, but could you imagine if I told him I liked him after all this time? And he smiled that stupid dorky smile and leaned in to kiss me with his lips that have no business being that soft? Do you have any idea how humiliating that would be? I have a reputation to uphold!
Tikki: But if you both love each other, and things with Adrien aren't going very well, then-
Marinette, offended: How could you say that? Do you really think things with Adrien aren't going well?? 🥺🥺
Tikki: Well, you don't know how he feels about you, but you do know how Chat Noir feels.
Marinette: What? So I'm just supposed to date a boy because we're in love with each other?
Tikki: isn't that how it works?
Marinette: I can't date Chat Noir! Because... if Hawkmoth found out about it, then he would totally use it against us.
Tikki: Surprisingly, that's the most logical thing you've said all night.
Marinette: This isn't fair! That stupid cat attacked me when I was weak! Weak!! Ugh, and I have to see him every day, and he's gonna flirt with me. It's gonna be disgusting.
Tikki: So, tell him to stop flirti-
Marinette: No! I want him to flirt with me. I just don't want him flirting with me.
Tikki and Plagg meet up later to swap stupid owner stories, and Tikki gets a double chocolate chip cookie.
Plagg: whoa, bringing out the big guns tonight.
Tikki, with blood shot eyes: Plagg, I don't know how much more of this I can take. I'm gonna tell her.
Plagg: That's okay. Adrien only "just a friend"zoned Marinette 6 times this week. It's his personal lowest. I think he's starting to come around.
Tikki: Why are humans so stupid?
Plagg: I dunno. But they make good cheese.
Anyway, I just really love the thought of Ladybug being cranky because Chat Noir is really cute, and she hates herself for admitting it.

Didn’t Need Burrow (July 13th-July 19th)
Anonymous asked:
Didn't Need Burrow: No matter how badly Alya going behind Marinette's back to let Nino know that she's still Rena blows up in the heroes' faces, the series will act as though the REAL lesson is that Ladybug should have trusted Chat Noir with HER secret identity.
Which is going to be so “hilarious” when Marinette now has confirmed trauma from “Chat Blanc.”
emikogale asked:
I don't need a burrow to know that similar to Kagami, Luka will do a 180 and declare Marinette and Adrien are "ZOMG! Made for each other!"
Bonus if the episode itself showcases the typical reasons why the love square is awful.
Anonymous asked:
DNB to know Maribug will start to have feelings for Chat after his big blow up this season (AND/OR) the big reveal
Bonus: Adrichat starts having feelings for Marinette after the reveal (kinda already confirmed in ChatBlanc ik but I mean it happens in the canon timeline too)
Ah, the eventual “joy” of Marinette falling for the guy she’s constantly picking up the slack of. :|
neyla9 asked:
DNB: At some point, we're gonna get an It's a Wonderful Life-style episode, showing Marinette or Adrien a timeline where they didn't exist Hawk Moth won or got more miraculouses and everything is awful; if it focuses on Marinette, everyone in this alternate timeline will blame and shame her for not being there, telling her it's all her fault this happened. If it focuses on Adrien, everyone will coddle and love him and talk about what a shame it is that they were never able to meet him before. Bonus points if Marinette/Adrien meet the Chat Noir/Ladybug of this timeline, and it is just the exact same thing: Chat Noir being angry at Marinette for not being there, and Ladybug stroking Adrien's ego about how funny and amazing he is, and it's no wonder she failed to defeat Hawk Moth when she didn't have him.
Honestly, just the episode being “It’s a Wonderful Life” style in general is a red flag regardless of what they do.
If they do one where everyone’s actually better off, it’ll be in specific areas to be some sort of lesson on how Marinette isn’t 100% perfect and she needs to strive to be better. If they do one where everyone’s worse off, it’ll be a lesson on how Marinette needs to solve everyone’s problems and squeeze herself dry.
Anonymous asked:
DNB: Alya will ultimately be PRAISED for lying to Marinette about the Nino situation and/or other matters, because Mari is Always Wrong.  Even if her fears about the potential consequences of Nino Knowing prove 100% justified, the fallout is blamed 100% on HER, while Alya is absolved of all blame and told her judgment was sounder and that she was Right to not listen to Marinette.
The thing that terrifies me most about this one is the fact that they would clearly go for this idea that Marinette has been working herself into a panic over “nothing” despite the fact that MARINETTE HAS BEEN TAUGHT THESE RULES, SHE DIDN’T MAKE THEM UP.
It’ll basically be like Alya brushing her off in “The Puppeteer 2” (with the whole “nooo, I didn’t tell him anything... and even if I did--ugh, it doesn’t matter!”) but worse.
Anonymous asked:
DNB: Marinette renounces the Miracle Box and passes it on to Alya, nobly forfeiting all her Miraculous-related memories in the process.  Alya promptly makes her Ladybug again.  This does NOT restore her memories, but is used as an easy excuse for her to make more mistakes/suffer for her inexperience.  Alya, Adrien, Tikki and others angst over her 'selfish decision' while Mari is expected to just keep trucking along, accepting all the blame and responsibility heaped upon her shoulders.
Honestly, it’ll probably be used as some sort of triumphant thing, like we as an audience aren’t supposed to be happy at her giving up Ladybug so this is supposed to be a good thing that she’s getting it back.
Anonymous asked:
DNB: Love Square gets reversed by Marinette giving up Guardianship to Alya and losing her memories.  Alya forces her to be Ladybug again, starting over from scratch, and she starts falling for her 'more experienced' partner.  Adrien, meanwhile, resents the reset because he hates that she's forgotten him, that he has to be more responsible (actual responsibility on his part optional), and other self-centered reasons, so he takes it out on her.
How did you make the above one even worse, I’m hurting!!
Anonymous asked:
DNB: The fact that Nino BLATANTLY STALKED ALYA when he suspected her of two-timing him with Chat Noir will be used as justification for Adrien amping up his own behavior and trying to stalk/spy on Ladybug, because iT's NoT fAiIiIiIiR that she's not giving him everything he wants, relationship and all.
God, these two just giving each other “””advice.”””
Anonymous asked:
Didn't Need Burrow: That Lukanette Instagram Scene was meant to push the LS or LukZoe agenda :)
:)
Part of me is just waiting for Marinette to reveal her identity with Luka in consideration of them trying again, but Luka misunderstands in someway due to Adrien being nearby and he tells her all about how he’ll support her with Adrien (bonus if LukZoe has either happened off-screen or is clearly going well) and Marinette is just, “o-oh... yeah, right--”
Because Marinette is always late to everything since she’s living two lives at the same time and doesn’t have room to sort out how she feels at the same speed as everyone else.
Anonymous asked:
Didn't Need Burrow: Chat will get angry about LB refusing a reveal when Rena and Cara know each other's identities. He'll act like he has a right to know and since she's the Guardian now the rules should be different. They have an argument and hello, Chat Blanc 2. Alternatively they will reveal themselves and Marinette will be upset her crush is the same guy who won't take "no" for an answer.
I’ve basically just accepted “Chat should’ve been told first/Chat had a right to know,” and it’s just a matter of how...
Anonymous asked:
Don't Need a Burrow: Finally we will get Ladybug with wings... but this will be due to Wings Power-Up potion. Obviously Chat Noir and Rena Rogue/Furvit will also get this power-up.
If she gets nice things, Chat has to get it too.
(no, I don’t count Charm Bug considering that that’s just them putting her slightly closer to having an outfit as complex as his)
Anonymous asked:
Sort of a theory but putting in as Didn’t Need Burrow: The love square will switch with ladybug starting to feel like Chat Noir is more respectful and helps keep her balanced (she doesn’t know about his emotions so don’t anyone try and pin that on her) and Adrichat will start to like Marinette as she provides him comfort (even if she might not know the full extent). This is all done for the big ladynoir fallout to *drumroll* hurt Maribug in the most possible way!! (This can be manipulated however you like, I just wanted to share my thoughts 💖) ((And to anti-salters who want to call me out for this thought, >;P ))
So basically, Ladybug/Marinette getting closer to their respective interests just to make the hurt for her all the stronger.
Adds up, honestly.

Betrayal chapter 3 - Scandals and Sinners

Ladybug, Chat, and Nathalie took the lift back to Gabriel's atelier and then gathered in the latter’s bedroom.
"Wasn't there something else you wanted to discuss?" Ladybug asked when Nathalie looked more comfortable, sitting up on her bed.
Nathalie nodded. "Yes. The reason why I reached out is because M. Agreste had crossed my personal line."
"Yes," said Ladybug, "Adrien mentioned that M. Agreste wanted to akumatise him."
Nathalie nodded again. "In reality, the real object of his attention is you, Marinette." The heroine held her breath. "I suppose you know a young lady called Lila Rossi?"
Ladybug winced and frowned, but nodded. "Yes, she's one of our classmates. She's a deceptive liar who's threatened me on many occasions."
Nathalie's lips curled in a hard smile. "You may not be so pleased to know that M. Agreste's deal with Mlle. Rossi goes way beyond his claim that she's 'the muse of his brand'. He has regular meetings with her and has asked her on several occasions to keep an eye on Adrien on his behalf." Her hard smile became a smirk when she heard the two teens gasp. "Last week, Mlle. Rossi produced a bit of information that raised M. Agreste's interest. Apparently she saw Chat Noir jumping out of Marinette's bedroom after wrapping her in a hug."
Both Ladybug and Chat Noir gasped. "Uh, yes he did. It was raining and I saw him wandering around all wet, so I offered him shelter and a towel to get dry." She looked between Chat Noir and Nathalie, and smiled sheepishly before continuing, "Now I don't know if it's wise to mention that I also offered him some croissants."
Nathalie glared at Chat Noir, who looked up and brought his hand to his nape. "I'll discuss this point with him later." She coughed. "Mlle. Rossi convinced M. Agreste that Marinette must be in a relationship with Chat Noir. And that's when M. Agreste remembered what he discovered when he last akumatised Luka Couffaine."
Chat Noir flashed his eyebrows in total confusion, but Ladybug's face became the colour of her suit. Nathalie noticed and continued, "It's not my place to say, but I can see that you got the message, Ladybug." The polka dotted heroine nodded and hid her face behind her hands. "They're planning to create a big scandal, make you look like a two-timer and akumatise you. I objected saying that Adrien could suffer from it, and may risk being akumatised himself. M. Agreste said that if that's where his heart lies, then he deserves to be. So I decided to contact you." She switched off her tablet and looked at Ladybug very seriously before warning, "I wouldn't be surprised if you started hearing about this story as early as tomorrow."
She made an enormous effort to move to the side of her bed. "Nathalie!" called Chat Noir darting to her side to help her stand up. "You should stay in bed and rest."
She gave him a genuine smile, one that Adrien had very rarely seen on her face, as she patted his hair gently. "I really should get up, Adrien. I need the toilet." She giggled at his obvious embarrassment and went out of the room.
When Nathalie left, Chat Noir turned to his Lady. "I thought I stopped you from saying anything compromising when Truth hit you."
Ladybug blushed to the roots of her hair. "Y-yes, you prevented me, Chaton. Not everyone else."
"Nobody knows your ident—"
"That's not the secret that Nathalie was talking about," interrupted Ladybug. "You don't know, because you'd left with Kagami, but before you came back, Truth asked Alya, Mylene, and Juleka what Marinette's secret was."
She dared glancing at him in between her fingers and emitted a loud squeal noticing that he was looking at her. "What did they say? I'm curious now..."
Ladybug took a massive breath. "She's in love with Adrien Agreste."
"WHA—? That's impossible…" Wide-eyed and pale, Chat Noir grabbed her shoulders and forced her to look up. Her face flushed even redder than before. "Oh my God… are you… really?"
She didn't see the bright smile that lit his face, because she crouched in on herself and started sobbing. "I hadn't even thought of the implications of Papillon knowing that I love you. I… thought it would be safe because he doesn't know my identity but I was wrong."
"YOU LOVE ME?"
She looked up at his words and nodded slowly; the gleam of pure adoration in his eyes made her blush darker.
"The other b-boy was Adrien Agreste," she whispered before he wrapped her into another tight hug. Then he touched his forehead again with hers, and got lost in the blue ocean of her eyes.
"You don't know how happy I am now!" The words coming out of his lips breathed on the skin of her chin. "Since we're making confessions, I have one of my own." His gaze took on an amused gleam. "I have sinned and pretty badly, M'lady."
"You s-sinned?"
He cupped a hand on her cheek. "Yes. You remember that day at the swimming pool?" He smiled when she nodded. "Well… that day I fell for Marinette Dupain-Cheng."
Ladybug blinked. "Uh, I know you did. I mean, you fell in the water. On m—"
"Yes, but also figuratively, Ladybug. I fell head over heels in love with her. I don't know what it was but… when she tried to give me back my umbrella, I felt my heart soar and thunder in the distance. No wonder I banged my head against the car after that."
He closed his eyes and giggled, his hand running to the nape of his neck for comfort. But the giggle died in his throat when he felt soft lips on his. "How scandalous, Minou. Falling for two girls!" She brushed her lips against his. "Too bad that they're only one!"
Then, their lips met again and nothing else mattered in the world.
To be continued… day 15

Chap 1   Chap 2 - Here
Ao3 Link
“I,” Chat took a deep trembling breath as a small sad smile formed on his face. “Okay,” he grasped Ladybug’s hand on his cheek and held it tight. “Okay.”
She smiled softly and took his hands in hers, leading him to follow her across the rooftops.
The buildings around them became familiar as they leaped from rooftop to rooftop, and he'd be lying if he said his heart wasn't going a mile a minute in anticipation. His breath got caught in his throat as she landed on a particular balcony lit up in soft golden light. He landed behind her as she stood faced away from him, fiddling with her hands.
Chat felt his chest swell and he put a hand over his mouth, glancing around at the familiar balcony. There’s no way, no way...
"Tikki," she said with a small voice, cutting through the silence, "detransform me."
He glanced up at her to see her suit fade away in red and white sparkles, revealing a simple pink t-shirt and sweatpants. Marinette turned slowly, looking down at the floor. Tikki hovered next to her head and glanced between them with a huge grin on her face. She waved at Chat and flew behind them into some plants.
Chat couldn't breathe. But it was a different kind of speechless than his sadness, this time, he had a million things he wanted to say, but no words reached his mouth.
"Surprise?" She laughed awkwardly and looked up at him from underneath her lashes, then, she was taken aback by his expression.
He was grinning ear to ear, holding back tears, trying to take in a deep breath.
Worry covered her face and her hands flew up to reach out to him. "Chaton, are you-" she started, but was cut off by his bear hug.
"It's you," he breathed, holding her tight in his arms, freely sobbing again, but with tears of joy. "It's always been you."
She wrapped her arms around him instantly and laughed into his hair, holding him tight. "It's me," she sighed.
His heart swelled as he took her in, of course, it was her, of course, it was always her, who else could it have been? The two most treasured people in his life, the two he'd tried to sort out his feelings over, for almost a year, it was her, Marinette, Ladybug. The one who had carried him and held him in his lowest and the one who had jeered with him and laughed with him at his highest. The one who had snorted over stupid jokes and had cackled at bad movies with him. The one who tripped and dumped paint on both of them and helped him study for a history test. It was her.
Chat pulled back to hold her face and gaze into her eyes, smiling like a little kid. He shook his head in disbelief and laughed breathlessly, rubbing away stray tears. Was any of this real? How was he this lucky, there was no way he was this lucky. Was he?
Marinette slipped her arms up and around his neck, standing up on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek lightly. He gasped, staring at her as she chuckled to herself. "Your face is so pink," she giggled, poking his nose.
"I- you-" he sputtered. How dare she look so cute while teasing him. Adrien tried to think of something to say in response but he only gaped at her as she continued to giggle at him. He settled on sighing heavily and smiling at her.
"Are you feeling better?" She asked, brushing his bangs back with a light hand.
"Yes, definitely," he sighed and rested his forehead against hers. A million times better.
"That's good," she said softly, closing her eyes. They swayed together, holding each other and just breathing.
"Marinette," he whispered. She opened her eyes and looked up at him. "Should I, um, y'know," he reached for the words.
"Detransform?" She offered.
"Yes, that," He sighed.
"If you want to, though it's probably best if you do, I'm not sure what my parents would say if I told them I was dating Chat Noir." She cringed, looking away nervously.
"Da-dating?" He stumbled. Oh, his face was very very warm.
Her cheeks turned rosy as she looked away from him. "W-well yeah, I, I mean. If- if you're cool with it, y'know, I, I wouldn't, y'know," she glanced back at him and let her head fall on his chest in exasperation. "You know what I mean," she groaned.
"I do?" He asked, glancing down at her.
"I can hear your stupid smile you dumb tomcat," she replied. Chat laughed and lifted up her chin to see the very intimidating pout on her face.
"I know," he whispered, smiling at her. Chat closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Are you ready, cause I'm not sure I'm ready."
"I'm ready," she giggled, cupping his cheek again.
"Okay. Plagg, detransform me." The first thing he felt was the cool breeze of the night air cover him. Then, he heard a distinct gasp, and the absence of warmth as Marinette let go of him and took a step back. Adrien opened his eyes slowly, to see Marinette standing in front of him, hands cupped over her mouth, eyes wider than the moon staring at him wordlessly. "Marinette?" He asked, feeling his stomach plummet. Oh no. This was not a good sign. The worried smile fell from his face as he stared at her. "Are you-"
Adrien fell backward into the railing of the balcony with the force of her hug. "Adrien!?" She cried. Burying her head into his neck. He blinked for a second and wrapped his arms around her as she pulled back, cupping his cheeks and staring into his eyes. "I, oh my God, I am going to fucking kick your dad's ass."
Adrien blinked and then promptly burst into laughter, doubling over and trying to catch his breath.
"Don't laugh at me! I'm going to do it!" She cried as angry as a puppy could get.
He stared up at her and wiped tears from his eyes. "I'm sure you will," he laughed and shook his head. Marinette pouted at him and then started laughing along with him. Adrien reached up and curled a lock of hair over her ear. She sighed and rested her chin on his chest, making a funny face at him.
“I’ll leave you two be,” Plagg jutted in, making a fake vomiting sound before Tikki dragged him away with a quiet scolding.
The two of them giggled at the sight and watched the kwamis go before turning back to each other.
"I can't believe it's you," she said.
"Can't believe I'm a superhero and a fashion model?" He joked, raising his eyebrows.
"That I can believe, your face is too handsome for your own good," she snarked, squishing his blushing cheeks.
"You think my face is handsome?" He tried not to sound as surprised as he did.
"You kidding? Your face is like, completely symmetrical, you've got big, pretty eyes, and a tiny, cute nose, and these baby cheeks," she laughed at his increasing redness. "Maybe you're more cute than handsome," she mused, squishing his cheeks again.
"I'll take what I can get," he laughed. Adrien hadn't felt this good in a while. Just to stand here, with her in his arms, laughing at each other, he felt like he was on cloud nine. If his cheeks weren't already sore from the sobbing they were now sore from smiling.
“I really can’t believe it,” She sighed breathlessly. “The two boys I love the most in the world turn out to be the same person?” She shook her head and laughed lightly. Adrien, however, was frozen in place.
“Love?” He whispered. What was- was she, was she serious?
She smiled even wider. “Yeah,” Marinette sighed. “I fell in love with you that day you gave me your umbrella.” He remembered that day. That day something blossomed in his chest that he tried to ignore for the longest while. “And then again, sometime later. I can’t put a date to it cause it was slow, but, your silly, cute, cat-face found its way into my heart somehow. No matter how much I tried to deny it.” She shook her head and smiled. “Maybe Chat noir was always there.” Marinette laughed softly, and in the glow of the night, he knew she couldn’t look more wonderful.
“You know when I fell for you, right?” He started softly, cupping her cheek in his hand. “That day you saved Paris and a million different times after that.” She rolled her eyes fondly. “I knew, I know I love you, but I never seemed to know why this shy girl in my class always caught my eye.” Her eyes grew wide and her mouth clamped shut. “I guess I know now,” he laughed. Marinette’s face was very red and she was doing a poor job of hiding it.
“You’re so stupid,” she groaned and rested her head back on his chest.
“But you looove me,” he beamed at her and choked back laughter. But even through the joke, his heart soared.
“I do,” she whined and looked up at him, trying to hold back a smile. Adrien brushed her bangs aside and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. She squeaked, which made him burst into laughter.
“Shut up!” She cried, laughing herself and hitting his arm playfully. He only laughed harder, doubling over and stumbling back onto the lawn chair behind him. Marinette folded her arms and pouted at him.
He stared up at her, grinning like an idiot. “You’re cute.”
“You’re cuter!” She whined, throwing her arms up in the air. Adrien burst out laughing again, hugging his sides. Marinette laughed with him, collapsing into the chair beside him. He took a deep breath and sighed, looking at her fondly. And she made a funny face that melted into a mirrored smile. He grasped her hands in his, pulling them up to his lips and kissing her knuckles.
“I think you’re the cutest.” Adrien grinned at her again.
She scoffed and rolled her eyes. “I think you’re wrong, but I won’t fight you in something I know I’ll win.” Marinette closed her eyes and put a hand to her chest.
“Oh, confident are we?” Adrien raised his brows at her.
“Yes, very.” Marinette hooked their arms together and rested her head on his shoulder with a thump.
Adrien brushed a lock of her hair back and the whole world seemed to melt away around them. He didn’t think he’d forget what happened earlier today, maybe he never would, but with her in his arms, he felt like he would be okay, somehow. And that was good.
"Should we go inside?" Marinette asked, shifting her head to look at him.
"Uuh," She knocked him out of his thoughts. How long had he just been staring at her? "Oh, yeah, you gotta tell your parents..." he trailed off. A small prickle started in his gut. What if they-
"I know what you're thinking, Adrien," she frowned. "They may be opposed to you sleeping in my room, but they won't turn you away. If anything, they would probably force me to sleep in the guest bedroom since my mattress is more comfortable." She closed her eyes and put a hand to her heart.
He tried to ignore the notion of sleeping in her room as best he could. "Are you sure?" He asked in a small voice. Adrien knew Marinette's parents, but he saw how Tom could get when his daughter's feelings were in tow.
"Absolutely, they'll love you, if they haven’t fallen for you already," she giggled, poking his nose again. "Come on, they'll be weirded out if you come out to my bedroom, so you can come through the front door with me." Marinette pulled him up and toward the opposite end of the balcony to a ladder reaching down the side of the building.
"Has that always been here?" Adrien asked, watching her take the first climb down.
"Yeah, I mean, it would be suspicious if Ladybug always left the same building, right?" She slid down the rest of the way and gestured for him to follow. He'd admit he'd never thought about that. Adrien followed her around to the front door of the house and into the dimly lit foyer.
"Maman? Papa?" Marinette called into the bakery. He heard some shuffling and music coming from inside.
"Marinette?" It was Sabine's voice. Even with Marinette's reassurances, the pit in his stomach only grew. He felt like crawling into a dark hole."Dear, what are you doing coming in through the front?" He heard a light set of footsteps as Marinette’s mother made her way to the door.
"I, um," Marinette looked at him and back through to the bakery. Sabine walked in folding a towel in her hands and stopped dead when she saw him.
"Adrien?" She looked at him, even though she was confused he couldn't sense any malice in her tone. "Marinette, what are you two doing here?"
"I, I have to talk to you and Papa. It's," Marinette glanced at him again, strength in her eyes, and grabbed his hand in hers. "It's important."
Sabine blinked for a moment and then nodded. "Oh, okay, well, we've got to finish up some things in the store, but go upstairs and make yourself at home, I'll go tell Tom." She smiled at them and gestured that they go upstairs.
"Thanks, Maman!" Marinette called as she pulled him up the steps.
"Tha- thank you, Mrs. Cheng!" Adrien stuttered and followed her up.
She smiled and waved at them until they reached the front door out of sight.
Marinette took a deep breath and opened the door, glancing back. "That wasn't so hard, was it?" She ushered Adrien into the house and closed the door behind them. "Okay, do you want anything to drink?"
"Huh?" Adrien turned to her as she opened the fridge.
"We have maybe 10 minutes to get our stories straight so they aren't suspicious. I was thinking that we go with, we both snuck out, ran into each other, talked about it, and then essentially the same thing happened where I invited you over." She explained this while wrestling with the lid to a carton of orange juice. "Or," she snapped it open with a pop and poured it into a glass, "we could do something else if you have another idea." She turned back to him and pulled out another cup from the cabinet.
Adrien stood and watched her, not really moving from where he'd stood when they walked in. He felt, out of place.
"Want anything?" She asked again.
"I, um…" he blinked at her. Trying to get his head to think straight.
"We have tea, cocoa, orange juice," she pointed to the carton behind her, "milk, some other Chinese fruit juice thing my mom got," as she explained she pulled out a green bottle with Mandarin on it. "This tastes good, I forget what the fruit is called, but it's really sweet." Marinette smiled at him.
Adrien, well, Adrien was completely dumbfounded. Dumbfounded by normalcy with which she treated him, the ease with which she spoke, and just, well, her. Her, standing in her kitchen with a t-shirt and sweatpants, asking him if he wanted to drink a glass of juice. "I, I can try the Aloe juice." He recognized the characters on the bottle.
"Okay, here," she poured the cup and handed it to him. "It's got some health benefits or something, I'm not too sure." She put both juices back in the fridge and bumped the door closed with her hip.
"Thanks," Adrien said in a small voice, taking a sip of the drink. It was sweet.
Marinette drank the orange juice and walked over to the couch, pulling him by the hand to sit across from her. "Okay," she started, placing the cup down. "So, do you think we should go with my idea, or do you have one," she asked.
"I, I think it's fine. I'm just worried that your parents will be mad if you snuck out." He stared at his reflection in the cup of green juice.
"Oh Adrien," she reached out rested a hand on his arm, making him look up at her. "Don't worry about that, they'll probably take my phone away for the next week but it's nothing I can't handle. What's important is that we keep our identities safe. And that you're here and happy." She gave him another soft smile. Adrien put this hand over hers and smiled back.
Some footsteps came from the stairs. Marinette jumped up and glanced between him and the door. "We'll go with my plan for the sake of time, alright?"
Adrien blinked and nodded, then grabbed her hand before she left for the door. "Good luck." He squeezed her hand reassuringly. She smiled and squeezed it back, then left to the door. Adrien watched on as Marinette explained animatedly, but in a hushed voice, what had happened. He glanced back at his hands to avoid eye contact whenever either of her parents would glance over at him. Their faces turned from confused, to horrified to the same angry determination that Adrien had seen on Marinette’s face earlier that night. At least he knew it ran in the family.
“Of course,” he heard Sabine say. “Adrien,” she called for him.
Adrien looked up from his hands and stood on wobbly knees. “Y-yes, Mrs. Cheng?” The pit in his stomach felt like a raging storm. He wanted to run.
“Please, dear, call me Sabine,” she laughed and waved him over to their circle. Marinette gave him a reassuring grin. “So, Marinette explained to us the gist of what happened,”
“We don’t have to talk about it if you’re uncomfortable,” Tom assured, putting a large hand on his shoulder.
“And we would be more than happy to let you stay with us.” Sabine rubbed his arm gently. Her smile was filled with such warmth. And suddenly, all the tension in his gut was washed away. It evaporated almost as quickly as this new feeling replaced it. Warmth.
“For as long as you are comfortable, or feel like.” Tom nodded. Even though Adrien couldn’t see the man’s mouth behind the mustache, he could tell he was smiling. Adrien felt his throat tighten. He tried to swallow it down.
“Of course, we would probably have to get in touch with, what was the lady’s name?” She turned to Marinette.
“Nathalie,” Marinette replied. She glanced between him and Sabine, fiddling with her hands.
“Right, but, feel free to stay here, as we said. We can focus on all of that stuff tomorrow.” Sabine waved her hand over her shoulder. “Does that sound good, Adrien?” she asked.
“I-” Adrien started, getting the words caught in his throat. He choked out a breathe. “Sorry,” he mumbled trying to get a handle of himself. But, it seemed all his willpower for holding it in was gone, so he just cried into his hands.
Sabine glanced quickly to her husband and back to Adrien. “Dear, don’t be sorry,” Sabine rubbed circles into his back. “Come here,” She opened her arms to him and gave him a tender smile. Adrien stumbled into the hug slowly as she patted his back. And even with her small size, she engulfed him in the hug.
“I’m, I’m sorry,” he mumbled through tears. What was he sorry for? For everything? His body shuddered in a hiccup. It was surprising that he was able to cry at all after the tears he’d shed earlier.
“It’s okay, son, you’re okay,” Tom said and bear-hugged the both of them, giving them a gentle squeeze. Adrien felt himself melt.
After a moment, Adrien felt one of the arms around him leave his shoulder. He rubbed the tears from his eyes to see Tom beckoning to Marinette, who was standing, holding a hand to her mouth, smiling and wiping stray tears from her eyes as well. She ran up to them and wrapped her arms around Adrien, holding him close. He held her with desperate hands, sobbing into her shoulder again. Waves of emotion came over him, and he felt so free to just cry, and so he did. He just let it all out. The pain in his chest was there, but for a different reason than before. Instead of hate, and sadness, it was warm. And full of, well, full of love.
“Tha-thank you,” He cried. “Thank you.”
---
Bonus:
The only light in the room came from the moon through the window and the screen of his phone. 12:29 AM. How was he going to get through the night? Adrien’s body felt exhausted, but he couldn’t fall asleep. Maybe he was afraid of this being all a dream and getting thrown right back where he started. No, that’s a stupid thought. Adrien turned his phone off and placed it on the bedside table. He sighed and rolled over to see Plagg, snoring away on his pillow. He wasn’t alone. Especially now.
Adrien pulled the shirt he was wearing over his nose and smelled the fruity-bakery sent he’d come to know as Marinette’s brand of shampoo, which was mixed into his hair, and the sent of the bakery, which lay underneath him. The t-shirt was something that Tom bought, accidentally shrunk in the wash, and gave to Marinette, who used it as a sleepshirt occasionally.
He closed his eyes and tried to fall asleep. It wasn’t quieter or noisier than his own room, but it still was very different. Adrien couldn’t even imagine being in his own bed.
He was barely asleep when he heard light footsteps creak down and around the living room. Adrien turned over to see if he could see who it was through the opened door. A head with messy hair peeked through. His eyes widened. Marinette put a finger to her lips and came to sit next to the bed wordlessly. Her hair stuck up in a funny way, but the moonlight reflected off her face perfectly. She smiled at him silently and put out her hand, resting it on the blanket in front of him. He took it slowly and held it, her fingers where warm. Marinette gave it a squeeze and then turned to look out the window.
It was a small, silent moment, but it assured him, that he was truly home.

LadyNoir July 2020
Day 4. Disguise
Part 1
This is a stupid idea.  A very risky, impulsive and really, stupid idea, Ladybug thought, as she sliped her toy mask over her face. After a moment of  debating with herself, she called off her transformation.
Tikki smiled encouragingly at her, before the Kwami made herself comfortable in her red purse.
Her heart was beating wildly in her chest as she walked up to the place she had arranged to meet Chat.
The clattering of her boots, echoing through the empty alley echoed louder in her ears with every step.
Her stupid  weakness for his big stupid green eyes were the reason why she was in this situation now.
She knew from the second  she first saw his green eyes behind the red and black spotted mask that she was in big trouble.
Oh kwami, and how she knew it.
It was like a switch had been flipped inside her!  All she could think about was her partner.
During the day she wondered how he was doing.  Sometimes she would see something and automatically think of him.  It was like a spell, no matter what she did, how hard she tried to suppress the growing feelings for him.
She just couldn't get away from it!
She knew there was too much at stake, even if she had another chance with him, there were other good reasons not to do it.
First, was their team dynamic, she could not destroy that.  Then the danger they could both be in if their relationship were to be made public.  The little time they would spend together, as long as they did not know each other's identity.  Lastly, well, she questioned whether or not she was even allowed to date her own partner.
At the last one, Tikki had laughed out loud at Marinette's attempt to find another way out...
She had resisted him for 5 years until that one night.
Chat had looked at her with that gentle look.  She'd really tried her best to listen to logic and fight it…  But her heart didn't care what her head wanted and simply threw all objections overboard.  Before she realized what was happening, she had closed the distance between them and kissed him.
After the kiss... There was no going back anymore.
Literally.
Chat would not tolerate the two simply ignoring the kiss.
For obvious reasons, of course.  But she had to admit from the moment Chat Noir sat her down to talk to her about it, he neither teased her nor made jokes about it.
Even when she said...
Fine, lied about, not knowing what the kiss meant, he was patient.  He made it clear, if she didn't know what the kiss meant, she should think about it.  He would remain her partner no matter what she decided.
Though, of course, he would prefer she finally admit to herself,  she had fallen for his irresistible charm.
It had taken her a whole week to get up the courage to talk to him about it again.
Then again, it was probably the most embarrassing hour of her life. She'd stuttered and tried to put her feelings for her partner into words.  The moment she finally brought out the last word of her confession. He burst into the most blinding smile and picked her up off the floor and swung her around.
"Finally!" he yelled laughing happily.
He put her back on the floor and pressed his forehead against hers. "My stubborn Bugaboo. I love you too."
What followed were the two craziest and most exciting weeks of her life,  Full of nocturnal romantic dates. It was a dangerous game of hide-and-seek with her arch-enemy and the public, but she wouldn't trade a second of it.
It felt so good to be with the person she loved.
Even if she didn't know his real name, well, not yet...
She wasn't planning on changing that anytime soon. She also thought Chat Noir agreed, it was better to wait until the danger was completely gone before taking that step.
But his ominous statement, 'bring a mask and wear clothes you usually don't use tomorrow,' and 'do you trust me, my love?' Was when she had begun to doubt it.  But because she could not refuse his emerald eyes, she blindly agreed
How could she just blindly agree to something like that.
Oh God, what if someone recognizes me!
With that thought she turned back on her heel and went to find a suitable place to transform back. Not looking behind her as she took a step she bumped into a figure dressed in black, behind her.
"What's the matter Bugaboo, having second thoughts about this already?"
She looked up into his beautiful, stupid, eyes, which looked amused back at her behind the black plastic mask and melted inside.
"Ch..Chat!"  His grin only got bigger as she stuttered.  She pushed him away and sulked, "How long have you been following me, damn it!"
Her boyfriend laughed softly,  "Since you..." He trailed off and looked at her outfit.
She had decided on a knee-length red stepped skirt and a black top.
According to the blush on his cheeks, it looked like he liked what she was wearing.
"What's wrong kitty, bug got your tongue?"  She asked innocently.
He blinked before he grinned again from ear to ear.
"Not yet" he purred and wagged his eyebrows.

She slapped him gently on his chest and tried to hide her own blush. That man could be such a huge flirt sometimes!
"What?"  he asked with a laugh, holding her back by the wrist.  "I haven't started this time. In fact..." His arm wanders around her waist, pulling her close.
"You're the one who looks beautiful and is making puns," he bent down and whispered softly "and you know exactly how much I love that," his hot breath gently caressed her ear.
She felt her knees go weak. It just wasn't fair, he had that effect on her.
He pressed a gentle kiss to her lips before pulling away and looking at her expectantly. "Are you ready?"
Still dizzy from the kiss she nodded dazed before she realized how Chat was pulling her in one direction.
"Wait a minute, ready for what?" she said.

Ladynoir July Day 19: Identity Reveal
When Marinette transforms for the first time, she has two directives from Tikki: number 1 is to stop the akuma. Number 2 is not to let anyone know her real identity.
The latter lasts approximately four minutes, just long enough for her to go screaming across a quarter of the city and land in the arms of a shocked catboy. He’s knocked off his baton, they both plummet towards the ground, and somehow in the process they end up completely entangled in the string of her yo-yo.
Upside down, face-to-face, their heads and, more importantly, their lips smack together. She hears him gasp and feels a hot pain over her heart at the same time. When she opens her eyes in shock, his lips are turquoise.
They’re soulmates. The realization breaks through her shock right about the moment her yo-yo magically unwinds, dumping them both on the ground. She scrambles up and checks her reflection in the nearest store window. Her lips are now turquoise too.
The place where you first touch your soulmate will permanently change color to signify the bond manifesting. At the same time, the name of your soulmate emblazons itself over your heart. Her maman has a blue handprint wrapped around her right wrist. Her papa has a blue handprint on his shoulder.
She’s ended up with turquoise lips, because of course she has.
“Uh, hi?” the catboy says. “You must be that partner my kwami told me about. In, uh, more ways than one, I guess?”
“Holy shit,” she says, touching her lips.
“I’m Chat Noir,” he says, picking himself up off the ground. “But my real name is -”
“It’s supposed to be a secret!”
Chat gives her a blank look. “Your name is written across my chest. Sorry, do you expect me to just never look in a mirror again?”
She purses her lips, because yeah that’s fair, and gives in. “Fine. God Tikki is gonna be so mad. I’m Ladybug, but my real name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng.”
“Oh,” Chat says. “Huh.”
“What?” Ladybug squints at him.
“I’m Adrien. Agreste.”
“Oh,” Ladybug says, momentarily horrified, because about two hours ago she read her soulmate the riot act.
“I didn’t put the gum on your chair!” He blurts out, like he’s been dying to say this. “I just - Chloé did. She’s my childhood friend. I don’t have any other friends. I’ve always been home-schooled. I don’t really know how friendship works...” He rubs awkwardly at the back of his neck.
Against her will, Ladybug softens. His green eyes are large and luminous and pleading, and she’s never been able to steel her heart against puppy eyes. Or would that be kitty eyes? Either way, something tells her that he’s being honest right now.
“I’m sorry, though,” he continues. His ears droop. “I didn’t mean to make you mad.”
Shit, he’s cute. The thought crosses Ladybug’s mind and she blushes. “It’s okay. I’m sorry too. I guess I... I kind of jumped to conclusions. Chloé and I don’t have the best relationship.”
“I got that.” Chat gave a tiny smile, and her heart thumped a little too hard.
“A-Anyway, now isn’t the time to really talk about this,” Ladybug said briskly. “We have to deal with the akuma. But - oh no!”
“What?” Chat asked, looking around.
“We can’t go out there like this,” she groaned, pointing to her mouth and then his.
Chat looked disappointed. “You don’t want people to know we’re soulmates?” And he looked so crushed by that assumption that she hastily shook her head.
“No! It’s more like, Ladybug and Chat can’t show up with turquoise lips if Adrien and Marinette are going to walk into school tomorrow with turquoise lips,” she explained. “Our identities have to be secret to everyone else. It will give us away for sure!”
“Shit. I didn’t think of that,” Chat said, frowning. “But you’re right. I’ve never seen soulmates who first touched with their lips.”
They both turned away, blushing, at the reminder.
Then Chat coughed and said, “Uh, okay! Come back to my house. I have all kinds of lipsticks.”
“Really?” Ladybug said, surprised.
“Model.” Chat shrugged. “I only wear it for photo shoots and stuff like that.” He stepped closer and peered at her. “I should have something that’ll match your skin tone without looking too obvious.”
“Okay, perfect.” Ladybug sighed in relief. Tikki seemed so certain that she could do this. She would’ve hated to mess it up within the first ten minutes, especially for something that wasn’t exactly in her realm of control.
“We better move fast, though,” Chat added. In the distance, they heard what sounded like an explosion.
“Right. Okay. Let’s go,” Ladybug said. She took out her yo-yo again, hoping she wouldn’t end up going in the opposite direction from wherever Chat’s house was.
“Wait!” Chat said.
Ladybug turned to him. “What?”
He avoided her eye, blushing. “After - after we’re done, do you wanna... I dunno. Maybe... get a coffee and... and talk?”
“Sure,” Ladybug said shyly. Butterflies fluttered in her stomach when he beamed back at her, and she couldn’t help smiling back.
Maybe being a superhero wouldn’t be so bad if she could do it with her soulmate at her side.

Ladynoir July: Day 2-Gift
1 She felt tightness behind her eyes and blinked furiously to prevent any tears from falling. Her thumbnail dug into her right thigh and she desperately tried to cling to that sensation.
Here she was, a badass young woman capable of ripping off a demon’s head without a second thought, reduced to tears by a simple, kind act. Chat Noir looked at her hopefully, arm outstretched with a small package wrapped in newspaper and shoelace for a bow. Why was he doing this? Why was he making it so hard for her? “What’s this?” she asked quietly, proud of herself for not letting her voice quaver. “It’s a birthday present.” He ducked his head bashfully. “Well, not a birthday present, per se since we don’t know each other’s birthdays, but,” he scratched the back of his head “well, it’s just a gift, I guess.” “Just a gift,” she repeated, trying to convince herself it meant nothing. “I don’t know your birthday, but I do know our anniversary.” “Our anniversary?” her voice broke. He didn’t seem to notice. “Are you just going to repeat everything I say?” he nudged her with his elbow playfully. “Our anniversary, the day I said yes to this life and we became partners.” She had to look away from his earnest expression. “This is….very kind of you, Chat.” She tried to smile. “But completely unnecessary. And I didn’t even get anything for you. And if anything this is a more important day for you.” “Your presence in my life is more of a present than I deserve,” he joked and her heart ached for it to be true. She wanted to tell him that he deserved the world. But she knew better than to give into ridiculous urges that were bound to strain their relationship as partners. “Seriously,” he took a step towards her and placed a hand on her shoulder “it’s just a small gift. It’s nothing. If you really wanted, I could regift it and give it to Master Fu instead.” He wrinkled his nose. “Although I’m not sure he’d get it.” She bit her lip. He was so thoughtful, she wanted to pull her hair out. In all her twenty years, she couldn’t ever remember meeting someone as thoughtful as he was.
She snatched the gift from his hand and fell onto the couch, trying to appear more lighthearted and relaxed than she felt. “No no no! This is mine! I won’t let you hand it off to someone else,” she said cheekily. She carefully peeled back the tape and unraveled the newspaper around it, concentrating heavily on her task to avoid blushing when he sat down beside her, close enough for their thighs to touch. “That’s not how you open a present,” Chat admonished. “You rip the wrapping off! Like an animal.” He mimed the motion exaggeratedly. She laughed at him, knocking into his shoulder with her own. “Some of us have a little bit more class than that, alley cat.” “You clearly don’t know me at all.” He straightened his torso and pretended to tighten an invisible tie around his neck. “I’m so obviously an Aristocat.” Ladybug suppressed a giggle, finally freeing the small box from its newspaper prison. She looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “I know for a fact you have no real income, so I hope to god you didn’t get me anything expensive. And by expensive I mean more than like 3€.” “I promise, it’s nothing like that,” he assured her. She continued to side-eye him as she folded the newspaper into a neat, tiny square on her lap. “Okay….” her voice trailed off. As her fingers traced the edge of the tiny box, she noticed how he wiggled in his seat, leaning towards her a little more, like an excited child. It was so endearing, she nearly blushed herself into oblivion. He nudged her ribs with his elbow softly. “Well? Don’t just stare at it. You’re making me self-conscious.” She lifted the box to her face and examined it even more in depth. She furrowed her brow, brought a finger to tap against her lip, and made exaggerated “hmm” and “oh” sounds. “Now you’re just being mean.” He shuffled himself even closer to her side and leaned his head on her shoulder while wrapping a hand around her forearm. “Please open it, Ladybug?” he begged softly. She immediately regretted teasing him. It just wasn’t fair how easily he could melt her heart. Ladybug finally lifted the lid from the box, fingers reverently pulling back the tissue paper to reveal a collection of orange and blue beads held together on a red string. A bracelet, she realized. “So, hear me out,” he said, lifting his hands to his chest, palms out in a gesture of surrender. “Do you remember a few weeks ago when we had some trouble with that smoke demon? And after the battle, you talked to Master Fu in the kitchen?” She nodded hesitantly. “Well--and I know I wasn’t supposed to be listening, and I swear I’m sorry about that, I didn’t mean to--” Ladybug put a hand on his elbow and motioned for him to continue. “You said that you thought it was ironic that your powers come from the ladybug essence, yet you always feel so unlucky.” He swallowed and she found her eyes were glued to the way his Adam’s apple bobbled. “I just...I wanted you to feel lucky for once.” She opened her mouth to reply, but no words came to her. Chat continued, cupping his hand around hers as it held the gift. “I’ve always felt sort of lucky.” She shook her head, in part to disagree with him, in part to shake the fog out of her mind. “No one gets into this life because of luck, Chat. I may not know what exactly you’ve been through, but no one becomes Miraculous without something terrible happening to them.” “Just because we’ve all faced tragedy, doesn’t mean we can’t experience luck too,” he argued. “And I’ve felt lucky. And there’s a reason for that,” he pointed to the bracelet “I’ve had a lucky charm.” She picked up the bracelet and held it in front of her face, tracing the beads with her eyes. “And now I want you to have it.” “You’re giving me your lucky charm?” She looked at him incredulously, blue eyes blown wide. When he nodded at her, she jumped out of her seat. “I can’t take this, Chat! This is one of the only things you have to remember your old life!” “Our old lives don’t matter anymore, Ladybug,” he responded gently “There’s nothing to remember.” “But you don’t really believe that.” She paced in front of him. “I know you don’t really believe that,” she muttered under her breath. She stopped suddenly and turned on her heel sharply to face him. “Why are you doing this?” He shrugged, gazing at her face intently. “Because I want to.” Her eyes bore into his, searching for any sign he wasn’t completely sincere. She found none. “Look,” he stood up and pulled the hand that clutched the lucky charm to his chest. “You’re right. I know this is who I am now, but I’ll never really leave my past behind me. I can’t. And this lucky charm is important to me, it always will be, but it’s done its job. It’s served its purpose for me, I couldn’t expect it to make me any luckier.” He pushed the hand holding the charm to her chest. “And now, I want you to have it.” She wished her mind wasn’t already latching onto his words, spinning a tale of romance and happily-ever-afters that she had to shut down. “Chat...I…” she took a deep breath to steady herself. “Thank you. Really, thank you so much.” She took one of his hands in her empty one and squeezed it. “I love it.” “I’m glad.” He stepped forward and pressed a light kiss overtop her bangs. “Happy anniversary, partner.” Partner. The word was a warning. A reminder of their reality. A reminder of what could never be. A fake smile overtook her lips. “Happy anniversary.”

LadyNoir July day 18: Masks/Kiss. Thanks @lovesquare-squad
< Previous | Next >
Read the whole month on AO3
"Again!" Ladybug screamed, stomping her foot. "We lost him again!"
"We were closer that time," Chat said, panting. "If he couldn't do that disappearing thing it would be a lot easier."
Ladybug's earrings beeped and she sighed. She was out of time anyway. Had Hawkmoth stayed a minute longer, it would have been Marinette trying to kick him in the shins instead of Ladybug.
"I'm down to seconds, I'll see you tonight," Ladybug said. She swung away and Chat was left alone on the roof with a terrified nine year old who just wanted to watch a movie that wasn't scary with his friends.
"Let's get you home," Chat said.
/*****/
"These near-misses with Hawkmoth are making me crazy," Marinette said, dropping into an alley a few blocks away, her transformation dissipating before her feet even hit the ground.
"He'll make a mistake soon," Tikki said, curling up in Marinette's open purse. "You just have to be more patient than he is. Think things through, take your time, make the right choice the first time, and you'll win in the end."
"When is the end though, Tikki?" Marinette asked, starting the long walk home. "I can't keep disappearing for hours at a time to track down a madman without questions being asked."
"It'll come soon enough. And at least it's summer! You aren't missing school."
"I know," Marinette said. "But I am impatient. I'm trying not to be, I'm trying to do what you keep telling me, but..."
"But you love Chat Noir," Tikki said with a little smile.
"I love him so  much," she said. "But I feel like I'm not supposed to tell him until we reveal, and we can't reveal until we get Hawkmoth, and Hawkmoth keeps-"
"Marinette?"
Marinette put one hand over the open top of her purse and spun towards the familiar voice.
"Adrien?"
"Hi." His smile was something she had missed seeing in person. The in-person ones were generally much more genuine than the ones on her walls. "Did you have errands around here? You're a bit far from home."
"Oh!" She looked around. There was nothing nearby that would be a good explanation for her presence. She didn't have shopping bags to say she had been buying things, either. "I went for a walk. I guess I wasn't paying attention to how far I went."
"Do you want a ride? You're on our way," Adrien said, gesturing to the car waiting for him down the block.
"Yeah! If you don't mind?"
"I wouldn't have offered if I did," he said, holding out his hand. She took it and slid into the car behind him.
"How has your summer been?" Marinette asked.
"Good! I'm still in fencing club, basketball, and Chinese lessons, and I just added a programming course. Nathalie's actually running it for about twenty kids. I never thought I'd miss her teaching, but I'm enjoying the class. How about you?"
"Lots and lots of sewing. And knitting! Here, I have pictures of my most recent projects." Marinette pulled out her phone and flipped through the pictures with Adrien. She found he had a terrible eye for fashion, which made her laugh, and he couldn't help but join her.
"Next time you and Alya plan something," he said, "call Nino, and I'll see if I can sneak out to join you guys. I miss everyone."
"Aw, we miss you too!" Marinette said as they stopped in front of the bakery. "Guess this is me. Thank you for the ride, Adrien." She turned to his driver. "And thank you, Mr... um..."
"Gorilla," Adrien said.
"What?"
"Mr. Gorilla."
"Seriously?"
"No, but it's what I call him."
Mr. Gorilla grunted in agreement.
"O...kay. Thanks, Mr. Gorilla. I'll make sure to set something up for the whole group soon. Bye!"
It was only when Tikki said, "That went well!" that Marinette realized what had just happened.
"I just... I just got a ride home with Adrien. I didn't stutter once. We held a real conversation. It was... nice."
"Maybe the past couple weeks away from him did you some good?"
"Maybe..."
"Or?" Tikki looked at her expectantly.
"Or..." She took a deep breath, letting the realization settle under her skin. "Or this is a sign that my true love is Chat."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah," Marinette said, feeling a smile tug at her cheeks until it hurt. "The idea of loving only Chat... nothing could make me happier."
"That's wonderful, Marinette!" Tikki got as sly a look as a tiny god of creation could have on her face. "You know... you don't have to wait until you reveal to confess. Love might make you two stronger, bring about Hawkmoth's downfall faster."
"Really?" Marinette asked. Tikki nodded. "Well, if the moment's right, I'll go for it."
"I'm so happy for you!"
They entered her room and Marinette looked around. She had taken down her Adrien pictures when Nino had stopped by to interview her for a documentary he was making (called "Akumas in Paris") and hadn't bothered to put them back up. Well, no real reason to now. She went to the hidden pictures and pulled out her three favorites. She added them with all her other pictures of her friends. Maybe when she managed to get Adrien, Alya, and Nino together, they could take some new pictures to add to her wall.
Marinette fed Tikki and then played video games with her dad until dinner. After they cleaned up, she worked on a shirt for Nino until it was time to patrol.
"I wish the flower was still all pretty," Marinette said, looking at the drooping rose in its vase.
"Chat Noir has loved you for a long time," Tikki said. "He'll just be happy you feel the same way he does."
"I hope so," she said. "Spots on!"
Ladybug all but flew to her meeting spot with Chat Noir. She was nervous, but she also knew he loved her. This was right. They were right.
"You're early, My Lady."
He dropped silently to the roof beside her. Her heart rate doubled and she couldn't have held back her grin if she'd tried.
"Hey, Kitty." She sounded breathless but she didn't care.
"You look happy," Chat said, extending his staff to lean on it. "Is it me? Did you miss my sparking purrsonality?"
"I really did," she said with a little giggle.
"Oh." He straightened up and a look of confused delight resulted a little smile, just for her. "You were pretty upset earlier."
"Hawkmoth? We'll get him," she said, waving a hand.
"Of course. With a team like us? Nothing can stop us for long."
They were a team. They had always been each other's complement. She couldn't wait any longer. This kitty needed to know just how loved he was.
"Hey," Ladybug said, reaching out to grab Chat's hand. "Can I say something?"
"Something good?"
"I think so."
"Then of course, Bugaboo."
His first hint was that she giggled at the nickname she usually hated. The second was the way she blushed and bit her lip. His heart sank. This wasn't real.
"Well, Kitty..." Her eyes dropped to their joined hands, and she started swinging them side to side a little. "I've realized lately that... That my feelings for you aren't the same as they were before. You've always been one of the closest people to my heart, but now... I love you, Chat Noir."
She looked up. His eyes looked... sad. His mouth was set in a determined line.
"You don't really feel that way," he said.
"What?"
He didn't repeat himself. It took Ladybug a minute to process his words. She could see from his expression, the hunching of his shoulders, the slight lowering of his cat ears, that what he had said wasn't good, but the words themselves meant something she hadn't expected, couldn't understand.
"Of course I do," she said. She ignored the sinking feeling in her stomach in favor of the buzz of confusion in her head. "Why would you say that?"
He shook his head and took a step back, but didn't pull his hand away. "No, you don't. I'm sure you think you do, but... Your feelings, they aren't real. In a little while, you'll see. I'm just your goofy partner. That's how you've always seen me, that's how you'll see me again."
"No! I've never seen you as 'just' anything. Chat, I love you." She stepped towards him, closing the distance he had made but feeling no closer. "You said you love me. Now I'm telling you that I love you, too. This is good! This should be happy!"
He pulled his hand from hers, tight fists falling to his sides and took two steps back. "I do love you. I love you enough that I can make myself tell you this isn't real. It's just the fake dating confusing you, making you feel the things you're pretending to feel."
"What? This has nothing to do with that!" Why was he doing this? She had expected him to be happy, for them to be able to share in that giddy feeling of loving each other. How had it turned into a fight?
"I know you think that," he said, taking another step back, "but you'll realize it soon. We'll cut back on the public dates. Answer fewer questions about us for the press. You'll see."
Ladybug felt angry tears starting to form, and tried to slow her breathing to fend them off. "Chat, I know what I feel is real. I know it."
He gave a sharp shake of his head and turned to face the nearest rooftop. "I can't do this, Ladybug! I'll patrol alone tonight. See you at the next akuma attack."
He left. Ladybug covered her mouth to muffle the sob she couldn't stop. She raced to get back home, to cry in the comfort and privacy of her room. People couldn’t see Ladybug like this.
Didn't he love her? Didn't he love her enough to believe her? Wasn't this what he wanted? Didn't he love her?
His love had been a constant since Chat had told Marinette that he loved Ladybug. The sun was warm. The ground was down. Chat loved her. But now? Now nothing made sense. Her love had upset him, made him reject her. Chat didn't love her. The ground was up. The sun was cold.
How had she made things so bad so quickly?
She landed on the merry go round in the park across the street from her house, within sight of the statue of the Heroes of Paris when the little black and purple butterfly caught up to her.
"Hello, Lovebug," said a gleeful voice in her head. "I am Hawkmoth."

LadyNoir July Day 12: Communication.
Resolution to the scene from Day 21-Trusting, since it was rather widely requested. ( @maerynn-blog  ) This is the last I will write for this, so I hope everyone is satisfied with the way it ended!!
Of all the possible outcomes for this conversation, this was one that Chat Noir had not seen coming.  If someone had asked him the likelihood of Ladybug willingly dropping her mask at any time prior to it actually happening, he’d have said zero.  Nil.  Nada.  No way, Jose.
He would have bet heavily against anyone who suggested otherwise.
And he would have been wrong.
“Tikki, spots off,” she’d said, her voice flat.
He watched in utter shock, and if he were honest with himself, fascination, as a pink light ran up her body, taking the spotted suit as it went.  The young woman left in its wake wore pink ballet flats, black leggings, and a soft, drapey top the same color as her shoes.
His heart was thumping heavily in his chest; he wanted to laugh, to crow that his lady had finally decided to reveal herself.
But he could not.
This…was wrong.  This was not what he’d wanted, what he’d imagined it would be. She continued to stare at his boots, her head bowed and shoulders slumped as her kwami nuzzled her cheek.
The nascent laugh died in his chest.
What had happened?  How had she gone from vehemently insisting that they could never reveal themselves, to so cavalierly dropping her transformation?  What the hell had he missed?
“Ladybug?”  He crouched low, dropping one knee to the rooftop as he tried to peer beneath her fringe.  She flinched, shying away from his gaze; then she sighed resignedly and looked up, directly into his eyes.
“Hello, Adrien.”
He felt shock jolt through him again, more intense and more complex than before.
Marinette.
“Oh God.”  He shot to his feet, staring at her as a confusing jumble of conflicting emotions surged through him.  Disbelief.  Joy.  Anger.   Love.  Betrayal.  Hope.  “Oh my fucking God.”
She laughed humorlessly.  “Yeah.”
“All this time…”  He shook his head, as if to clear it.  “Were you ever going to tell me?”
“I don’t know.”  She lowered her eyes.  “Maybe, if we… I mean, if we were to…”  She sighed, and leaned her head back against the chimney stack, her eyes closed.  “I really don’t know, Adrien.”
Her words fell like blows, and he scoffed.  “So not only does Ladybug not trust Chat Noir, but Marinette doesn’t trust Adrien.”
Her eyes flew open, her expression horrified.  “NO!”
“Then what the hell is it?” He yelled, both hurt and baffled by her reticence.
“I was afraid!”  She yelled back, the gathered tears finally spilling down her cheeks.  “I am afraid!  Ladybug is clever and proud and strong and graceful and all of the things that I will never be on my own.”  She swiped angrily at her tears, and pushed herself to her feet.  “How could I ever let my incredible partner see that the real me is just a clumsy, pathetic mess?  How could I ever tell my wonderful boyfriend that the girl he’s settled for is sometimes the beloved savior of Paris, but only when enhanced by a magical pair of earrings and the ancient embodiment of creation?  How could he ever be satisfied with just me?”  A broken sob tore from her, and she spun from him, hiding.
Chat gaped at her, utterly poleaxed for the third time that night.  Was that really how she saw herself?  “Marinette—”
“And now that I know that you’re both Adrien Agreste and Chat Noir, the two most incredible people I’ve ever known, all wrapped up in one package…”  She scoffed, shaking her head.
“Fuck. Claws in, Plagg.”  He felt his transformation leave him, and after an uncharacteristically compassionate pat to the cheek, Plagg drifted off to join the little red kwami.
He stepped closer to her, and raised a hand to turn her back towards him, but stopped just shy of her shoulder.  “Marinette, I can’t—You don’t—I have no idea what to say.  Is that really how you see yourself?  Do you really believe all that?”
Her shoulders hunched, but she didn’t answer.
“Oh my god, you do.”  He ran his hands through his hair, feeling completely at a loss.  “Marinette, do you think that I am stupid?”
She spun back to face him, her tear-stained expression indignant.  “No, of course not!”
“Do you think that I’m incapable of making sound judgements for myself, or that I’m blind to the faults of those around me?”
“No!”
“Then why do you think that I would love you so much, if you were so undeserving of it?”  Her eyes widened, and he pressed on.  “Why would I ‘settle’ for anything less than what I truly want?”
“I—I don’t—you don’t—”
“And what about Tikki?  Do you think that she would have chosen you, if you were so unworthy?  You are Ladybug.  You are clever and strong and everything that Ladybug is.  The suit enhances your strength and agility and coordination, just as mine does for me.  But the rest is all you.”
“N-no.  You don’t understand.  You think that I’m some perfect paragon—”
He couldn’t help it, he snorted at that.  “I really don’t.” Her brow furrowed, and he laughed outright.  “Not blind to faults, remember?   You’re stubborn, and obsessive, and you have a temper. You get tunnel vision when you’re in the middle of a project.  You’re clumsy.  You’re surprisingly impetuous, and it’s only by virtue of your insane luck that it hasn’t gotten you into trouble yet.  You snore when you’re overtired, and you’re always a blanket hog.”  He closed the distance between them, and cupped her face in his hands.  “You’re far from perfect, Bug, and I know it.  But you’re also kind, creative, generous, and fiercely loyal.  Your baking is even better than your parents’, and you give the best hugs.  You are brave and clever and strong.”
“Adrien—”
“I love everything about you, Marinette.”
Her eyes closed, and another tear fell from her lashes.  “I’m broken.”
He snorted again, and he let his hands fall to her shoulders.  “You’ve met my father.  You think I’m not broken?”
She laughed, in spite of herself, and he pulled her into a hug.  She wrapped her arms around his waist, holding him tightly.  “So what happens next?”
He drew in a deep breath, and blew it out slowly.  “I don’t know.  I guess we have some things to work through.”
She nodded against his chest.  “I guess we do.”
“It’ll be alright though, right?  I love you, Marinette.  That hasn’t changed.”
She tightened her arms at his waist.  “I love you too, kitty.”

LadyNoir July Day 23: Addictive
Adrien Agreste had an addictive personality.
His parents recognized it from a very young age and tried to curb the habits nearly as soon as they’d formed.
From the moment his tiny hands could reach the piano keys, he was forever drawn to that room, plinking merrily a string of strident, off-key notes. His mother played, sitting down with his as much as her schedule would allow.
After a terribly large, chocolate chip cookie half the size of his head, he developed a nearly insatiable appetite for sweets, so he was set up with a nutritionist and set on a very regimented diet. This was just common sense. His mother had been a lovely model. His father ran a major fashion house. Modelling was literally in his blood...and in his future.
When it had come time for school, his parents opted to have him be tutored. Between their travel needs and his growing modelling schedule, trying to get accommodations from the school administration looked to be a challenge at best.
He was fond enough of history and the sciences, but he had a great love for the written -- and spoken -- word.
Instead of getting the chance to go out into the world and make friend, he watched relationships on the small screen and in comics, growing fond of stories and characters over and over again. He cherished the clever use of language as high humor. He emulated the banter and comedic timing in the mirror.
Then he would plaster on a smile and plastered on the fine manners that had been drilled into his head, over and over.
The more he came engrossed in one thing, the more time Nathalie seemed to put on his schedule for a new activity.
When he’s spent too much time with entertainment, his father deemed that he would be enrolled in fencing, which was one of the only sports sufficiently high brow enough to maintain the family honor.
On the first day he tried to go to school, he had met a girl.
He had been so excited to go -- only to have Nathalie and the gorilla beat him to the door. Stopping to help the older man who had fallen had only been the right thing to do.
Instead he’d watched the television from home, only to watch a super villain emerge on the screen, crashing his way onto the streets of Paris.
It could have been a story straight out of one of his anime. Right up to the part where a tiny black cat god popped out of a box to give him magical super hero powers.
It was totally cool. But, what’s more, it gave him his first real taste of freedom. Not scheduled and regulated and dictated. It came with rules and it came with limits, but it also came with a freedom like no other.
Sure, it was scary finding his footing on the rooftops that first time. Scarier still when a vision in red quite literally dropped out of the sky, tangling both in her yo-yo string. But just for that instant where they both were falling.
Ladybug was his partner, a superhero with powers to complement the ones he had been lucky enough to be granted as Chat Noir.
He had been happy when he realized she was kind, and just as knew to this as he was. They could muddle through this all together.
“You’re a jokester, huh?” She was amused by his puns. All that time had clearly been put to good use.
And when he’d flirted using one of those long treasured lines, she parried right back. Without hesitation.
She was witty and clever, puzzling out solution after solution, far faster than his own mind was putting them together. From that first moment, she had been hesitant and unsure, but in the end determination burned clear in her piercing blue eyes.
By the second day, his exposure to Ladybug had been habit-forming. He knew without question that he was positively in love with that girl.
And better yet, because it was all in secret, neither Nathalie nor his father could schedule in time for further distractions and obligations.

Day 1: Patience
For Ladynoir July 2k17.
So this is my first Miraculous Ladybug fic, so to whoever may stumble upon this, critique it to the best of my ability.
Maybe crossposted on an AO3 account if I make one at some point. I’ll add a link if I do. Also, I know this is two days behind, I’m catching up.
Adrien Agreste considered himself a patient person.
He was a model, after all. Going to all the shoots and having nothing to do but smile for the camera made self-meditation, thinking, and waiting much easier.
But one Marinette Dupain-Cheng was putting his self-ascribed patience to the test.
“Dude, why are you staring at Marinette?” He had totally forgotten about his best friend Nino, sitting right next to him in Mrs. Bustier’s class.
“Eh…” He tried to come up with something vague. “It’s something inside me I can’t quite place. Something that changed since yesterday.”
“Come on man. I’m your best bud. But, since it seems to be lady issues-“
“Wait a second,“ he tried to interrupt.
“-I’ll leave you to it.” He leaned in closer, whispering, “Hey, if it’s what I think it is, you don’t have much to worry or freak out about.”
As flushed as he then became, Alya and Marinette decided that now would be the best time to walk from the center of the classroom, where their conversation was taking place, to their desk behind him. A brush of the fingertips set both him and Marinette off, like a bomb they both knew was there but were both trying to ignore.
Simultaneously, they tried and failed to not make a scene of the now-even-more-awkward tension between the two.
“OH, SORRY DIDN’T SEE YOU THERE-“
“MY HAND SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN THERE I DIDN’T-“
“I HOPE I DIDN’T RUB YOU THE WRONG WAY-WAIT I DIDN’T MEAN-”
“NO YOU DON’T HAVE TO SAY THAT IT’S MY FAULT MY HANDS CAN GET LIKE THAT WHEN I’M NOT CAREFUL-”
“IT’S FINE DON’T WORRY IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE A BIG DEAL EVERYTHING HERE IS NORMAL-”
“WAIT DID WE JUST GET NOTICED?”
Both of them swiveled their heads around the room, to many confused faces. Both of their gazes fell on the other’s friend, Alya’s with her smug detective face, and Nino’s with a face most likely acquired from the former.
Meekly, Adrien asked, “Well, are we going to-“
Alya finished his thought for him. “Oh, we are absolutely going to talk about this later.”
“How did you know I was-“
“Alright class, time for today’s lesson, take your seats.” Mrs. Bustier, like many other well timed incidents of the past 24 hours, was very good at interrupting moments of tension before a satisfying resolution.
And with that, Adrien went back to focusing in on Marinette’s freckles. She, just like her hero counterpart, was marked with spots that were impossible to not become infatuated with once locked into its gaze.
Yesterday, shortly after an akuma battle…
“My Lady! Wait up!”
She whipped around, breathing heavily. “Chat, as much as I want to talk right now, the Miraculous cure doesn’t fix me or my kwami’s energy levels, which are both running thin at the moment-“
He interrupted her, knowing he wasn’t going to get this in any other way. “Look, I’ll let you run off in just a few seconds, but I have to give you this.” He unzipped his left chest pocket, something he bothered to learn was more than just for show for this very moment, to bring out a charm bracelet, a bracelet that one Marinette Dupain-Cheng had given him for luck one day. He didn’t have it in his heart to give it back, but he felt wrong keeping it. “You know Marinette Dupain-Cheng, right?” A look of shock and dread filled her face, but it coincided with her Miraculous warning. 1 minute to get this out. “You were on a mission but you got her to help out with The Evillustrator that one time, so I figure you must have contact with her somehow. I-“ He cringed, knowing he still didn’t have a great excuse as to why he has this, but there wasn’t much of a way she would know the bracelet anyway. “-well, one of my friends didn’t have it in him to get this back to the girl when she gave it away to him, and he asked me to do it. I can’t tell you how I know him-“
“I know exactly how you know him, and I wish I didn’t.” She grabbed the bracelet, and took out her yo-yo in her other. Her face was becoming red, and she couldn’t keep her feet still. “I’ll make sure it gets back to her, but you need to leave, I’m about to de-transform, and I’d rather you not see me like that.” With a beep from Chat’s ring, she added, “I’m pretty sure you have a similar problem right around now too. We need to leave. We’ll talk later.”
She grabbed the yo-yo and hurled it at a nearby building, but as she was mid-flight, a beep all too familiar to both of them sounded, and with that, Marinette was falling, with no super-suit to protect her.
She screamed like she hadn’t since she was a child. Though Chat was still trying to process who exactly was falling, he sprang into action, leaping off the building to catch her. Less than a second after he grabbed her and extended his baton mere meters off the ground, then travelling down the baton safely in an alleyway in god-knows-what-arrondissement, his transformation dropped half a meter from the ground, dropping the two to the ground. It left them in a seemingly innocuous position, excluding the alleyway setting and the fact that the two of them had just found out each other’s most close-guarded secret. They sat up and just stared into each other’s eyes, not knowing what to say.
Marinette still had the bracelet clutched in her hands, and as Adrien looked at where her eyes were pointed as she looked towards the ground, realized how badly he had messed up.
“Look, about giving you that back, I just felt-“
“Did you really not want it?” “What?”
“That’s the only reason I see that you would give a gift like that back. I felt hurt as I slowly realized who you were Chat-Adrien, but seeing you, us, like this, makes me wonder why you’d want to give this back.” She took a breath. “Also, your excuse was really bad too. My initials are nowhere to be found on that- it’s a personal item, made before I ever started signing my work.”
He chuckled a bit, knowing how half-baked that entire cover-up was. “Do you remember what happened yesterday in class?”
“If you’re talking about the public humiliation Chloé caused me by spilling chemicals all over my newly made scarf sitting next to our workstations in Mrs. Mendelev’s class, yes, I remember it quite well.”
“You really looked like you needed a little bit of luck. But I didn’t want to make you feel, well, like this. Unwanted.”
“That’s sweet of you, but that was something especially for you. It feels bad that you didn’t feel it was special enough to keep. So… you sort of failed at that job.”
He scratched his neck nervously, unsure of how to put it. “Well, I wanted to give it back because it was so special. You know, I set it on my desk, for luck. School work, more… ahem, personal stuff, it’s always there. Your gift helped me through a lot. I just felt like you needed that luck back.”
“Yeah. I guess I did. And hey, for what it’s worth, you’re probably the first person I’d want to be Chat Noir, given I have a giant cr-“ She was cut off by one little drop of the hand, Adrien’s hand laying to rest just on top of hers, which was currently supporting her position sitting on the ground. It wouldn’t even constitute holding hands, like actual lovers, but it was enough to set off the unspoken fuse. Adrien knew exactly what she was going to say, Marinette knew exactly what he had said countless times before, and suddenly, all the relaxed comfort in the air disappeared.
“WELL IT WAS FUN TALKING PARTNER-“
“GOOD CATCHING UP FELLOW SCHOOLMATE-“
“SEE YOU TOMORROW-“
“YEAH WE’LL DO THAT HOPEFULLY THIS WON’T COME UP-“
“YEAH HOPEFULLY-“
“YEAH.”
And with that, they had run off.
So, Adrien had considered himself a patient person. But after all that had happened, confessing his love, especially now being so close to the love of his life, was becoming a monumental task for the both of them. It was testing his patience. More than he thought anything would. He wanted worse than anything to be able to get it out in to the open, to finally be with his lady, his princess, his love.
But right now, both of them had bigger fish to fry. Specifically, one Alya-shaped fish, who just found its easy prey, her subservient by her side, comfortable watching the entire spectacle unfold in the park where they found themselves sitting in.
“So, which one of you wants to talk first? I assume neither of you, considering you’re both avoiding each other’s gaze, which is exactly what I want to crack out of you.”
“Well, I thought it was pretty obvious.” “What was obvious, Mari? Say it out loud. Be specific too.”
“My crush on Adrien.” The boy in question had a look of shock on his face, not for that newfound knowledge, but how easily and comfortably she said it to Alya, but couldn’t say it to him. She then turned to face him head-on. “It’s been there almost since the beginning. That day in the rain, you made your first friend; I made my first love.” Adrien couldn’t place why, but it felt like the air around him got more humid with that emphasis on love.
“Adrien, got anything to say too?” Nino was giving him a stare he had only seen on Alya, but was starting to get used to seeing it on Nino.
“Yes, I do actually. Marinette…” She looked at him attentively, wondering just how he would respond in their first real conversation after it all happened. “Every word I’ve said to you since I’ve known you, no matter the circumstance, I mean it all. I love you with every fiber of my being and I will wait for you as long as it may take. I realize you aren’t completely comfortable around me for reasons I have no doubt are my own fault, but no matter what you may feel towards me, I’m putting exactly how I feel out on the table.” He stood up, surprised at his newfound boldness towards the love of his life.
“Marinette Dupain-Cheng, I love you. And no matter how long it may take, I truly hope you feel the same.” He gave her a wistful smile. “I’ll wait for you. I’ve waited pretty long as it is, what’s a little longer.”
Tears streaked down Marinette’s face, clutching her good-luck charm as tight as she could. Alya was confused, given she would have definitely heard of any past feelings he harbored to her friend. Nino was simply enjoying being a part of this.
Marinette sprung to her feet, nearly tackling him with a hug, Adrien’s feet barely keeping the two stable. She whispered in his ear, “Me petit minou, I love you so much. You’ve waited so long for me.”
Adrien couldn’t help but laugh to themselves, the rumbling in his stomach almost resembling a purr. “I’d do it all again for you.”
Adrien Agreste considered himself a patient person.
But never had the wait been so worth it.

Ladynoir July 2017 Day 1
Day #1: Patience
AO3
“What is taking that girl so long?” Alya watched the news stream on her phone as an Akuma attack was ongoing on the other side of Paris. Normally, she’d dash to the battle location, but she was much too far from it, and she had a project to finish with Marinette. When Alya had gotten the notification that there was an Akuma attack, Marinette had hastily excused herself to the bathroom, leaving Alya to her own devices.
That had been fifteen minutes ago.
Nadja Chamack took over, and Alya sighed. It had been a fairly easy battle. Chat Noir hadn’t even needed to use his Cataclysm. The camera panned over to the two superheroes talking to the Akuma victim.
“Try to stay positive, alright?” Ladybug said, voice muffled by the distance. She gave him a thumbs up.
Her hands flew up to her earrings and she turned to Chat Noir. They exchanged a few words, and she retrieved her yoyo from her waist. He pulled her back by the arm. His mouth moved, but she couldn’t make out the words. He smirked. Alya swore she could see the pure unconditional love in his eyes and melted. He cared so much for her. She couldn’t handle the cuteness of it all.
Why hadn’t she run across Paris when she had the chance?
Her heart longed for Ladynoir to be real. She wasn’t even ashamed to admit that she had written fanfiction about them getting together. Who knew? Maybe they were together and simply didn’t want anybody to know.
Images of an exclusive interview on their relationship for the Ladyblog entered her mind as she watched the friendly (flirty) superhero duo. Yes, they were flirting. Fight her.
Ladybug laughed and Chat Noir’s attempt at a flirtatious grin, or rather, what she perceived as a flirtatious grin, and patted his cheek mockingly. Alya squealed and kicked her feet. She lived for moments like those.
She tapped his nose and threw her yoyo, saluting before taking off.
Alya was dead.
Somebody prepare her funeral because she was a hundred percent sure that she had just died and gone to heaven.
Sure, it was most definitely not the first time they had interacted like that, but God help her, she wanted Ladynoir to be real so badly that it physically hurt.
The stream ended, and with a quiet groan, Alya remembered that her best friend was still missing in action. She had to vent to somebody, otherwise her heart might very well jump out of her chest. Actually, who’s to say it wasn’t going to do that anyway?
She took the stairs down two by two and knocked on the bathroom door twice. “Marinette?”
No reply. “Marinette, you okay?”
There was a quiet thump and a yelp before the door opened, revealing a disheveled and sheepish-looking Marinette. Alya raised her eyebrows. “Everything alright, girl? You’ve been in there forever.”
“Yup!” Marinette sidestepped out the door and headed back up to her room, Alya trailing behind her. “Just fine, everything’s fine.”
Alya shook her head, deciding to give her the benefit of the doubt. She looked fine, and there were more important matters to discuss. Like the fact that she was completely incapable of forming coherent thoughts at that very moment. She really needed help, yet Ladynoir was what she lived for. Besides Adrienette, of course. But she’d never tell Marinette that, unless she wanted her best friend to spontaneously combust. She shut the trap door behind her.
“You cannot possibly tell me Ladynoir isn’t real, girl.” Alya unlocked her phone, and replayed the end of the battle. “Look at them!”
“They’re partners. They’d obviously be really close,” Marinette said. While the logic was perfectly sound, Alya simply couldn’t bring herself to agree with her best friend. How could she be so stubborn that she couldn’t see the love between them?
“Sure, but they’re headed towards a beautiful relationship, Marinette.” She shoved the phone in her face, causing Marinette to go cross-eyed and pull the phone away exasperatedly. “Look at them,” she sighed wistfully.
Marinette chuckled and shook her head in amusement. “Now back to Romeo and Juli—”
“How could you possibly think of homework when Ladynoir is going to be a real thing?” Alya sprawled herself out on the chaise lounge with a smug grin.
“Because our grades depend on our homework and not on whether they get together?” Marinette sassed back.
Alya pouted and reluctantly made her way back to the desk. She sat down with a huff. “They really should get together though.”
Marinette laughed and patted her friend’s hand. “Patience, Alya. Patience.”

a year in review ♥
meme stolen from @isadorator!!! (also she stored all of her fic there and i stg as soon as i can rest i’m diving in ITADAKIMASU ♥)
January
puppeteer chapter 6 (aka that threesome one)
river flows in you
ladrien --- marichat-style
secret valentine --- the introduction
of all the things to start the year with //faceinhands
i think this was the ‘this is really fun but oh my god so exhausting and I HAVE STANDARDS TO LIVE UP TO NOW HE L P’ stage right here, feat. me losing my computer to hardware failure and continuing to attempt writing anyway :’D
(my biggest memory of this time is that i was writing an akumized!marinette fic in a private mobile browser window with gmail, of all places, and accidentally x’d out of the tab and lost like 5 hours of work :’D //never recovered from that whoops ;;;)
February
secret valentine!!!!
aka the month of proving that:
green smoothies really work for brainfuel
i am actually capable of (at least short-term) consistency
ladrien is Some Good Shit
spite really is the best motivator :’D
basically, i started following the ladrien tag and at least once a week someone would come up with a new meta about why Marichat Is Better Than Ladrien (often featuring, Ladrien Is Unhealthy and/or Ladrien Would Crash And Burn Fast, And Here Is Why), and do you know
as a ladrien shipper
how infuriating that was
the last straw was someone insisting that you really just couldn’t slowburn ladrien
and like
bitch?
p l e a s e.
(i fooled you all by acting sweet; this is who i really am :’D)
(i am absolutely the kind of person who would write the longest fic i’ve ever completed simply to slowburn it because someone said that it couldn’t be done :’DDDDDDD)
(fuck you, person whom i can no longer remember. i showed you.
...with this fic that you will never care to read, because i wrote it about your notp long after you’d voiced your thoughts about said notp :’D)
(#hallielogic)
March
no room for jesus
fun with friends and.... that’s about it
(o hai there, impending existential crisis >.>;;;;
it was a month of panic attacks and essays that were probably a lot less shit than my english professor wanted to tell me and do you know how hard that was for someone as anxiety-ridden and a-type as i am
do you)
April
ladrien --- wrong number
ladrien --- swim
ladrien --- hug
fake married au
boku no hero acadamia au
aka, the month where i found out how spiritbreaking it is to:
start to consistently fail to please not one, but two people you admire greatly
one of whom is your teacher and in charge of your grades
whose job it is to judge your writing
which is your Thing
who doesn’t like you, but is too pleasant to let it on to your face
while you’re dealing with abruptly losing the sympathy and patience of the one person you go to for emotional support (explanation: my mom went on hormone treatment and it fucked with her mood b a d)
while dealing with watching both of your parents’ heath deteriorate fast
april was h e l l  o n  e a r t h
fake married au was an emotional crutch that sort of kept me back from the brink, honestly :’D (look! see! i’m not a waste of existence! people like this thing i made!! see!!!)
(orz)
major, major s/o to @peridipshit and giselle (no tumblr that i know of ;;; ) for counseling me through more than one lunch-table breakdown :’D;;;
(now excuse me while i go find a paper bag ;;; )
May
aka the month of ‘i am too mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted to do jack shit, someone please put me out of my misery’
also the month bang bang on tumblr hit 1k notes!
June
no room for the devil
hope we don’t get caught kiss
pillow fight!
pillow fight! the second
a time travel snippet
Tumblr media
July
get lucky
a bunch of 3 sentence/short fic aus that i’m not gonna link bc #lazy
aka the ‘well i’m not in that hellish situation anymore so i should be able to just bounce right back, right?’ stage followed by the ‘okay okay that didn’t work; let’s start smaller‘ stage
i still plan to finish get lucky someday --- maybe we’ll see how alive i am after spring semester :’D
August
more short au fics
scary sabine au
unnamed ladynoir flirting
abo au
sidekick au piece
genderbent au
pictured: me, pumping my fists and going ‘okay, okay, okayokayokay i can do this’
September
somebody loves you
mlnsfweek (unfinished, dang it)
ladynoir --- reunion
everybody talks
getting better, getting better
everything’s still pretty disconnected and i still couldn’t bring myself to commit to anything that’d take longer than a day, but... improvement (9′-’)9
October
beauxbatons au
enemies phineas and ferb au
stop desire
more break-taking /o/
getting used to writing on my phone to fill the long hours of boredom that had taken my schedule by storm \o\
(also, unseen, i joined the remix challenge and loved and hated it :’D
also also started being almost kindasorta able to take concrit again (after the hell of march/april), and so started working with mirth again for the first time in months ;; ♥ \o/!!)
November
yuri on ice fics~~
soulmate au
make ‘em blush
exorcist au
self-indulgent marichat/ladynoir
yet another enemies au
mari-the-oblivious-lesbian genderbent au
genderbent crack smut
d a n . Adrien ur bobbie s
two important things happened at once in this month:
1) f i n a l l y got a medication that seemed to agree with me??? after literal years of testing???? everything is brighter now holy shit???????
2) rp!!! with!!!!!! mirth!!!!!!!! :DDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
which of the above is to thank for my astonishingly good mood??? i have literally no idea
aaaalso i got to remix bully’s fic in the remix challenge and that was great and fun as heck????? holy shit :D
lowkey dipped into another fandom there for a lil bit, but got too frustrated with the source material and dropped it ;;;
tl;dr: all in all, november was pretty great
December
marichat kissing lessons
do it 2 me
high-class callgirl au
cap-inspired crack
cru-inspired adrinette fluff-crack
moooore enemies au
shake up christmas
gods and godesses au
not pictured: like, almost 20k of rp goodness :D
medication and rp continue to do the trick, i start back in on things i haven’t touched in ages (’i want the k’ memes and get lucky, specifically), and the aus keep coming
signed up for waaaay too much towards the end there and spent like a week on too much stress and f a r too much caffeine, but actually feel well enough these days to start seeking help when i need it?? amazing
idk, mild caffeine od aside, the year ended on a high note
Total Year’s Output: ao3 tells me that it’s 93,383 words, but that not including a bunch of stuff i never bothered to upload there, and/or are still in wip form
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted?
mmmmh, a little less? i was pulling a steady 10k a month towards the end of 2k15, which is when i started writing for real, but understandable, considering the whole mid-year mental breakdown and subsequent recovery :’D
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2016?
aus of any sort! like actual legit ‘let’s fuck shit up’ aus :D i’ve always wanted to, but always thought my tastes ran just too weird to pull any off in any readable, enjoyable format? the exorcist au and the gods and goddesses au are pretty good examples of the aus i come up with when left to my own devices, except that those are on the tame end of ‘weird’ for me :’D
also i’ve relaxed my rigid stance on ‘love square o n l y’ and dipped my toes into poly ships and things like adrialya, which i probably never would’ve done before :’D
What’s your favourite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.
HOT MESS
HOT MESS IS MY MOST-ADORED CHILD
i’m still not 100% sure why, except that it’s got all my favorite lines and all my happy excitement and, looking back at it, it’s not phenomenal, b u t
it’s just??? got so much that i l o v e tied up in it
most of my favorite lines and really good memories and a dynamic i love and just.
it makes me so happy to have written it >/////< ♥
in things that i still love upon rereading, secret valentine is pretty up there tbh. somehow in all my stress to get it out and get it out good i... actually managed to hit a pretty sweet dynamic? idk i reread scenes from it sometimes and i still like it ♥
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
i wanna see where i can go, if anywhere, with get lucky. i wanna see if i can finish it. i wanna know where it goes, goddamnit.
i also want to beat this year’s wordcount, if i can.
and, if i’m well enough in november, maybe take a shot at nanowrimo? //fingers crossed ♥
i’m looking forward to it ♥

A Fic Year in Review - 2016
It's that time again~ And I wrote so much this year, holy shit. As usual, any concrit and comments are welcome~~ (as are requests, when open lol)
January
what are THOOOOSE a superhero's holiday
Oh jeez. Both these fics got way more attention than I thought they would. But I keep underestimating the ML fandom tbh. The first was basically me goofing around and I somehow ended up promising to write a sequel since everyone wanted one (which I...still need to do.....). The second was a flag for both my descent into ladrien hell and also a return to my nsfw ways orz;;;;
February
you are gold and silver (1/2)
IT TOOK. SO. L O N G. TO WRITE THIS. Although this fic is firmly in AU territory now thanks to being beautifully jossed by canon, it helped me realize just how much I needed to grow in order to write romantic intimacy in a believable way. So, I made it my goal to work on it until it was up to my own standards.
(I...still need to finish this fic too......)
March
jackady ladrien drabble prompts (1/2):
ribbons
fan merchandise
artistic muse
make-outs
stuck in a small place
rain
smiles
croissants
never have i ever
i want to touch them
jackady ladrien drabble prompts (2/2):
damsel in distress
beauty facial masks
visible marks
ice cream sandwiches
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (1/9):
the 4 times adrien pretended to shower to hide from ladybug (and the 1 time he was actually showering when she calls out his bullshit)
disney
halloween
tried to kiss your lips but i missed
magic
staring into each other’s eyes
Ah, the plan being put into action! With the release of actual ladrien eps, I had the perfect excuse to write romantic scenario after romantic scenario using submitted prompts. Which also meant I accidentally created a secret love affair AU and wrote more smut whoops. Still, they were super fun! I took a break halfway through to write some Inuyasha-inspired marichat that just would not leave me alone (also fun).
(....I promised to write a continuation of the 'never have i ever' prompt, didn't I alrjkdsflaks. AND TANGLED AU SHIT I ALMOST FORGOT)
April
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (2/9):
music
moaning
sweat
bath
they go on a date together
soulmate au
photographs
“i love you. i’m completely and utterly in love with you. please don’t get married.”
the one time ladybug actually catches adrien in the shower
ACTUALLY in the shower
“of all the people i could’ve gotten stuck in an elevator with and it just had to be you.”
mirror
More ladrien prompts/romance practice~ The music prompt is still one the most cracktastic things I've ever written lol. Managed to make two more AUs with this batch that I've already started to expand on: the soulmate AU and the auteur AU. Lastly, in a surprise twist, the fucking elevator prompt managed to gather over 1k in notes. Probably because I ripped off Sailor Moon but. Still.
May
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (3/9):
another shower scene
porn
away from home
“you have mom’s smile.” he said this to ladybug once, but he thinks it again and again and again. but ladybug is better: she is real.
calling bullshit
untitled continuation of a comic by pozolegirl
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (4/9):
under the covers
eyelashes
mega nachos
“i heard that the spots on your bodysuit corresponds to chakra points? so… what happens if i touch this?”
cute nose/forehead kisses
their first time
happiness
“i need you to pretend we’re dating…”
“is there anything you’re not good at?”
More Volpina prompts! Again, I like experimenting with them :D Also wrote a continuation of that Christmas comic because it was just way too cute~~
June
ladrien june 2016 drabble prompts (1/6):
love poem
awkwardness
games
i can show you the world
first love
everyone can see it
shower scene
jealousy
it’s a trap
insecurities
sins cannot be undone
ladrien june 2016 drabble prompts (2/6):
jealous fangirls/boys
“you have her smile”
gabriel | hawkmoth’s reaction
it’s not you, it’s my enemies
secret dating
window kisses
Oooooh boy. The triple whammy of Ladrien June, Ramadan, and starting my summer job. I was excited to have a month dedicated to just ladrien (as if I hadn't already dedicated most of my year to it lol) but fell behind pretty quickly thanks to my lack of free time. I aim to finish them this year!
And Ramadan. Man. It always sends my mental health straight into the toilet. Not because of the holiday itself, but because of the way my family treats it. Idk. I tried to flush away the bad feelings by punching out 'sins cannot be undone' in one night. And it helped, I suppose. It's definitely the rawest thing I wrote this year and I still have very strong feelings about it.
July
three sentence prompts:
ladynoir, spy au
nino and marinette, karaoke au
ladrien, bodyguard au
ladrien, superman/lois lane au
adrien and tikki, baking au
alix and kim, and the one-time-max-actually-won au
alya and marinette, vigilante au
adrienette, foreign countries
ladynoir, and the elevator game/ritual
Between work and writing various wips that I still haven't posted yet (*coughcoughconjugalvisitcough*), I only posted stuff from this meme. I had fun (the goal) and the adrien&tikki kwamiswap AU one is still my fave |D *slams fists on table* LET ADRIEN BE A BAKER!!!!
August
untitled continuation of a comic by geek-fashionista insomaniac and the chaton pile
UMMMM My summer job ended by this point, so my only excuse for not posting much is it's all tied up in unpublished wips and...I was freaking out about starting school next month for the first time in y e a r s;;; Just some drabbles for the sidekick AU (not mine) and my own, sleep-deprived ideas (that I...still find hilarious alkdjfhalksd I DID NOT EXPECT ANYONE ELSE TO???)
September
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (5/9):
embarrassing hobbies (aka: adrien is secretly a popular ladynoir fanfic writer)
water
mlnsfweek prompts (1/3):
laughter
roleplay
make 'em blush
we've got time
"i can’t believe we survived" sex
wet dreams
virginity
STILL REALLY STRESSED ABOUT SCHOOL, which translated into a lot of writing. Did a couple of Volpina prompts, including time ≠ water. Which. Got way more attention than I expected;;;; And that I...also promised to expand on......;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
And then #mlnsfweek hit and I'm actually really proud of myself for finishing the whole week, even if it was late~ /o/ Did some random scenarios, including some futurefic for the timebreaker AU. I still cackle every time I think of the wet dreams prompt tbh XDDD
October
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (6/9):
inside a video game
horror movies
“who crawls through someone’s window at 4 am to go for ice cream?!”
aching muscles from running all over the city, and then: "would a massage help?"
chocolate
discovering their sensitive spots
“so close” from enchanted
As usual, more Volpina prompts in between school and wips. Not really much to say except it was around now (or maybe September? My memory is horrible) that I realized I had developed a pretty good grasp on romance and could start working on upping my daily wordcount. I really want the mental stamina to complete a chapter fic one day...
November
mlnsfweek prompts (2/3):
marks
School REALLY started to pick up in difficulty and I signed up for a fic exchange and a fanzine. Despite really wanting to, I didn't have time or energy to do more than one prompt for the #mlnsfweek redux, but I plan to complete it~ I have Ideas.
December
oh, the things i do for you (the bubbler remix)
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (7/9):
bruises and scars
cold hands, warm hearts
I'm never, ever committing to more than one fic deadline near exam time ever again. I nearly died last month as I rushed to complete these fics, my studying, and prep for my vacation that started right after exams (I'm still recovering;;;). The remix is currently the longest fic I've written to date, including my wips! Holy shit!!!
Both were done very last minute, but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. I tried to finish the last of the Volpina prompts before the end of the year, but alas, time was not on my side. Better luck next year~ :'D
Total Year’s Output: ....58,718 words;;;
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted?
.......This is almost twice as much as I did last year. I actually passed the NaNoWriMo standard. Oh my god. There is no fucking way I would have predicted this last year. And that's not counting all the wips aaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH—
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2016?
Uhhhh, Bustier/Mendeleiev, definitely. Also DjWifi?? I just wasn't into it at all last year, but now I'm rooting for them. Also, I did not expect to write this much smut, but here we are. ALSO MARIE/ADRIEN/MARINETTE AKA THE OT3 AKA LOVE SQUARED (the homestuck in me will never die)
What’s your favourite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.
Happy...? Hmmmm....There's stuff that makes me laugh, that I'm proud of...
...I know it's not published yet or even done, but...probably conjugal visit. Not only is it chock full of my favourite type of ladrien, it's...sort of my thesis on emotional intimacy? It's proof of my progress. I look at it and I can feel my determination to grow and to move on from the mental rut I was stuck in for most of my life, that I won't let my past keep my from recognizing my own emotions and learning empathy, not forever.
(Maybe that's pride and contentment and hope more than happiness, but I'll damn well take it)
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
I ALWAYS SAY THIS but...I really want to finish my wips.....and I want to start an actual chaptered fic. Not a one-shot collection or a drabble collection. Long, plotty, gen or romance (or both!!), chapter fic. I want to write something that will keep people up all night, lying to themselves when they say 'just one more chapter'. I think I actually have a shot at completing one now, at my current skill and confidence level |D

Ladynoir July Day 7: Bad Luck Charm
Chat’s muscles burned pleasantly as he sat down and leaned back against the wall. Patrol always left him feeling tired in a good way, but tonight he was too apprehensive to enjoy it. He pressed his hand to his pocket and glanced over at his lady. She was stretched out beside him, looking up at the stars, totally relaxed.
“Hey Bugaboo?” Chat said, working to keep his voice steady.
“What?”
“I have a weird favor to ask.”
Ladybug looked over at him, her expression somewhere between concerned and curious. “What’s up, Chaton?”
He loved the way that word sounded in her voice. It made his stomach flutter. He said, “A friend of mine gave me this good luck charm a while ago. It worked for a little while, but not so much lately.”
“Okay,” Ladybug said slowly.
“Well, me being the embodiment of bad luck and all, I thought maybe over-exposure to me had... I don’t know, drained it of its good luck.” Chat tried to smile. “Do you think you could...”
“What? Re-imbue it with good luck?” Ladybug raised an eyebrow. “Chat, you know that’s not really how our powers work right? I can’t just make something lucky by -” She stopped, looking at his face, and then sighed. “Of course. I’ll give it my best shot.”
The tension drained out of him and Chat smiled for real this time. He’d been afraid that Ladybug would mock him, but he should’ve known better. His lady was too good of a person for that. He knew she was just humoring him, but he still felt better as he reached into his pocket and took out the lucky charm that Marinette had given him so long ago.
“So how do you think you drained it - holy shit.” Ladybug’s eyes bulged.
“What?” Chat asked, confused. “What’s wrong?”
“Where did you say you got that?” she asked in a strangled voice, staring at the lucky charm like she’d seen a ghost.
“A friend gave it to me to cheer me up,” Chat replied. “I carry it with me all the time, but lately it doesn’t seem to be working right. Either I’ve turned it into a bad luck charm, or I’m having one hell of a horrible week.”
Ladybug opened and closed her mouth a few times without speaking, then squinted at him. She was silent for a long time, her eyes moving from his face to the bracelet and back again, so long that Chat started to get nervous again.
“Is something wrong?” he asked.
“Is something wrong?” Ladybug repeated, and gave a shrill giggle. “Oh my god, Adrien, we are both... so stupid.”
He froze at hearing his name. “W-what?”
“It’s me, Marinette,” Ladybug said, and he stared at her in dumbfounded silence as she gently took the bracelet from his hand. "Let me keep this for the weekend. I’ll give it back on Monday. I have to go have a breakdown now, so I’ll see you later. Bye!”
She leaped off the rooftop without another word, leaving Chat sitting there, still frozen in shock.
