Developed by Kuusou Kagaku Corp and Data East Corporation and published by Data East, ABC Monday Night Football was released exclusively on the SNES in 1993 in Japan and the US.

No, this is not a game based on Gulliver the Giant but a young boy who's probably best described as a rouge who helps people. Maybe a sort of Robin Hood? Anyway, the game starts with him saving a friend from a beating when suddenly they are confronted by some strange-looking beings. One thing leads to another which ends up with our hero and his friend destroying a clock tower. For this Gulliver is arrested and taken away to another land to be punished.

I've not played this much longer than 3 hours or so but so far, I can say that the story is becoming interesting. I won't go into detail just in case you are deciding to buy this game. Graphically it's ok but nothing special. Compared to the likes of Magic Knight Rayearth or Tengai Makyou/Far East of Eden it actually looks a bit like a 16-bit game (which it was. Gulliver Boy was a PC Engine Super CD "HuVideo" RPG from 1995 originally). Still, it's voice-driven which is a nice plus and the characters seem likable enough. It may be worth tracking this down even if it's just for its unique animation style used in the intro and cut scenes.

Strikers 1945 II is barely different from the original. It's pretty much the same game with different enemies. It's not any better or worse, it's just slightly different, that's it. That's the whole story. The game is a legitimate sequel as far as the story is concerned but the "evil organization tries to take over the world" gimmick is still what they're going with.

THE GOOD -There was some sort of narrative in the first game and this is the continuation of that. While that is pretty standard for games, alot of games of this type in this genre don't have a plot at all so i'm still giving credit for the attempt.

THE BAD -There are so few differences between Strikers 1945 & Strikers 1945 II that I don't really see the justification for a sequel.

I give this game an 8.0 out of 10 BY THE NUMBERS
