Can I
PLEASE
Have more stoner ash headcanons pls
absolutely you can!! stoner Ash is my shit. I'm also adding my Ta!Au to this because thats my og stoner Ash.
Cilan is the first one to introduce Ash after he fucks around in a very muddy pond and finds out that he shouldn't do that after getting his ass kicked by a Seismitoad.
it's one of the most comfortable experiences Ash has ever had. his brain was quite, he didn't feel the need to run everywhere or be the first in anything, and he could ignore the pain from the multitude of bruises.
Cilan made an extra big dinner that night, as he didn't know if Ash would get the munchies or not
spoiler: he did and asked for snacks directly after dinner.
Ash is of age for Unova's marijuana laws so he follows after Cilan to a dispensary where the older boy imparts some hella wisdom onto him.
they take like a full hour of just looking around before they even considering buying anything. the guy a the cashier register kinda hates them but understands that Ash is new to this whole thing
"why do you know all about this?" "I'm the youngest child of triplets and we run a gym and a restaurant together at the same time." "... fair enough"
Cilan is a lot more open and sassy in general when he's not sober so it was fun going to a restaurant and just letting Cilan mutter some hot shit about the cutlery, the other customers, how the building isn't up to code. you name it.
edibles also quickly become Ash's favorite thing after he gets the best night of sleep he's had in a very long time.
Kalos was a fun time.
not really.
it was weird to heart Bonnie and Clemont almost... idolize him as he's smoking a blunt around the corner before they head into the Pokémon center or the hotel for the night.
it got even harder for him to get into the Kalosian dispensary's because Bonnnie was eager to stick by Ash's side and Clemont wasn't going to let his little sister out of his sight.
he managed, somehow.
Serena as a whole was a very touch and go situation for a while.
she grew up in a very purist type home so she was shocked and disgusted that Ash would even consider smoking in general.
let alone the devil lettuces
Ash couldn't give a Rattata's ass but stayed respectful to Serena's wishes on not wanting to see Ash do it while she's around him
the problem? she very rarely seemed to leave his side.
Professor Sycamore hooked him up with some homemade edibles that he made at his own personal lab, not the one he uses for actual regional professor shit.
it's actually funny because a lot of Kalosian officials smoke or do edibles and it takes everything in Ash not to cackle violently when he finds out.
it was really weird to be in a group passing a blunt between him, Professor Sycamore, Steven, and Alain.
it is still, to this day, the most chaotic group of stoners Ash has ever been in.
Kukui is very open about being a stoner towards Ash after he finds out that he does it as well. using the breadbox as his stash location that Ash totally doesn't steal an edible from time to time.
it quickly becomes a ritual that they get high together at least once per weekend.
it was an experience and a heart attack at once when Burnet walked in on them mid bowl. Kukui ended up cooking until he was about to pass out and Ash nocked his head against the doorway from just how high he jumped. He’s around 6’-ish or a little less.
She asked if she could join them next time.
It was just the trio for a while before Olivia would randomly pop up.
It was HELLA weird the first few times, as Ash and her didn’t along for a while. Eventually they agreed not to speak about what happened on her island and to not be so pissed at each other as well.
True neutrality between those two.
There has not been one day on Alola that Ash has actually felt at peace. The kids torment him on and off the clock, so a lot of times he’s forced out into public by them while fucking gone.
Ash doesn’t know how he survives but it feels like a heart attack the entire fucking time.
He’s grumpy and hangery and Ash has Lillie, Mallow, and Lana pulling him around young teen jewelry and clothe shops.
His style of clothing is completely different from the girls. They got their color and the teenage girl charm but Ash is a mix of streatwear and pajama’s.
meeting Viren while costing off the high from the night before was Weird.
10/10 would beat his ass without hesitation, this is’t really a stoner one but just principle.
#ash ketchum#stoner!ash#alolan class#professor kukui#professor burnet#pokemon cilan#professor sycamore#I feel like there would be a lot of stoners in the Pokemon realm#because mass Pokemon attacks are so deadly and theres so many almost world ending events#just gotta get a little good kind of fucked up to deal with all the bad fucked up

Time to roast Pokemon Gen 5
I was really looking forward to playing Pokemon Black / White (Gen V) because everyone said it was the Pokemon gen with the best story.
Well.
The plot:
Evil Guy wants to take over the region.
Evil Guy is like "Hee hee I will trick people into releasing their Pokemon, then I'll easily take over with MY Pokemon."
Evil Guy tells everyone that keeping Pokemon in pokeballs is exploitative. He frames this in generic terms (no examples) and this is enough to make the crowd gawp and wonder aloud if Evil Guy is correct. They seem shocked by the idea the Pokemon could be exploited, to which I say . . . do these people ever watch the news? Like we have had four previous games full of pocket monster exploitation by bad guys. Anyway, Evil Guy urges everyone to release their Pokemon.
Evil Guy of course has an Evil Team. And since the Unova region is based on America, of course they are themed as . . . MEDIEVAL KNIGHTS!
But don't worry, this team also has American theming such as Seven Sages, a couple ninjas, and a late game castle which erupts out of the earth.
It's all so generic. It's too bad, because America certainly has a history full of conflicts and villains. All right, there are some topics that I wouldn't trust Pokemon writers to address with enough sensitivity (like racism), but what about "Pinkertons versus unions"? Organized crime and crooked cops? The 1920s had a rash of fake spiritualists bilking people out of their money, what about a team based on them, with Psychic type Pokemon? With a Champion based on Harry Houdini, who loved unmasking fake psychics?
But no, we get store-brand Final Fantasy bullshit.
So anyway, Evil Guy's plan relies on people believing that he means well and is trustworthy. And therefore, Evil Team starts . . . committing a wide variety of crimes! In front of witnesses! They steal pokeballs from children, they kick Pokemon, etc.
"But maybe they still have plausible deniability," you might be thinking. "Maybe people won't believe kids." Well, maybe not, but they also commit crimes in front of Gym Leaders, the most trusted and powerful people in the Unova region. Like, one of the Gym Leaders has a museum, and instead of breaking in stealthily in the night, Team Evil just goes through the front door in broad daylight and steals an item while everyone stares at them.
Let's reflect on some other shortcomings of Evil Guy's plan which, to reiterate, is to guilt people into releasing their Pokemon.
First, if a Pokemon loves its owner, why would it leave just because it was released? Why wouldn't it continue to hang around, like the wild Rockruff that lived in Professor Kukui's house in the anime?
Second, if all Pokemon WOULD rather flee into the woods than stay with their human, then the bad guy is seemingly correct.
Third, what about the asshole trainers who don't care about their Pokemon's feelings? We know they're out there, there's a Pokemon move called Frustration.
Fourth, even if Evil Guy tricked everyone into releasing their Pokemon, there is nothing to stop the populace from catching NEW Pokemon the minute Evil Guy starts using his Pokemon to bully people. Feed Evil Guy's plan to a Trubbish and throw it in the bin, because it's garbage.
On a final note, when looking at the ethics of keeping Pokemon . . . Of COURSE it would be unethical to keep a lot of them irl! Giving children Fire type Pokemon would be grossly irresponsible. Litwick feeds off human souls, you shouldn't keep one. And the Yamask--introduced in THIS GAME--are described as "the spirits of people interred in graves. Each retains memories of its former life."
Now personally I love the weirder Pokedex entries and all the Pokemon with horrifying origins. I love that Pallosand shoots the bones of its victims from its arms and that Phantump is the ghost of a child who possessed a stump. However: Gen V made a beeline for the only rake in the yard and stepped on it. Most Pokemon games sidestep Poke-catching ethics; it's understood that this is all pretend, nothing is actually being captured, and therefore the player doesn't need to worry about such things.
But characters within Black & White bring this argument to the forefront, and without having any rebuttal. This is why the Evil Guy makes generic arguments like "If you don't release your Pokemon they can't fulfill their true potential", instead of telling the crowds "Catching a Yamask means you're enslaving a human ghost" or "Hands up anyone who caught your Pokemon by burning, paralyzing, or poisoning it."
So, yeah. Pokemon Black & White has the second worst story of a mainline Pokemon game. I haven't played Black 2 or White 2, maybe they were better.
#Pokemon Black and White#Pokemon Gen Five#Pokemon#oh if you're wondering what my Number One Worst Story is for a Pokemon game#it's Sword Shield#and third worst is X / Y but it's so close to Black / White that it's really more of a tie#however X / Y is also one of my favorites to play because I like the wide variety of Pokemon you can catch quite early#it's not that I hate Black & White#it actually has one of the best sets of starters imo#but I'm incredulous that people thought this was the best story#it ain't#long post

There is this moment in Alola where every single inhabitant aaw mysterious footprints in the forest. Most were found in Mele Mele. It didn't match any footprints from any Pokemon, a newly identified Pokemon? A new species? Or a new mythical? Professor Kukui was excited at the thought of a new discovery, and don't get me started on Aether Foundation.
Skia was... Interested to say the least, she almost grinned ear to ear at the photographs of the footprints, not for the same reason as everyone--no--just looking at those photographs were enough to make her wear her boots and go outside. Snickering as the tapping of her boots echoed in the night.
Easy, all she needed to do was enter the forest. Walking around or train with her partners, either would do.
Sitting on the root of a tree, she opened the boot's clasps before slipping it off her foot. The sole, funnily for her, the sole of her boots matched with the ones on the photographs. The girl was even surprised that no one even realised!
Oh, Damian and Lottie would absolutely scold her to no end, she could only snicker like a mischievous Purrloin at the thought. From snicker to giggles, from giggles to laughter, from laughter to hiccups. She's so evil-
B O N K
"Hey!?" The sudden throbbing pain from the side of her head just made her head spin all of the sudden, when she looked down she saw... Is that a Pokeball?
Then there's rustling at the bushes. The girl slipped her footwear back on, few seconds has passed and there was a boy. Around her age if not older, his hair is blonde shaped like Kalosian Fries styled in very choppy manner, green eyes are sharp as if he could stab with his glare itself, and there's an Umbreon and a Lycanroc by his side.
"A person...?" He murmured, eyes trailing from the top of her cap until her boots, his eyes just widened for a second "tch..." Skia just scowled and gave him the side glare--as if he knows--she just stood up, dusted herself, and left.
Not before she threw the Pokeball back at him and let out a small 'hmpf...' Dear Arceus she'd rather not see this guys again.
Well, she's wrong
-🦀 anon
ooooh
meet cute step aside
it's time for the meet ugly
throw that pokeball and wham him, skia! he's gonna be your best friend soon!!
ehehehe!! this is darling <3

Believe it or not I'm very very hesitant and anxious when talking about the ships I have for my au. Both oc x canon and canon x canon, for a multitude of reasons, but! I think it would be beneficial to everyone if y'all knew what are the ships I plan to have here. I'm not going over every single one, just the ones that comes to mind. No oc x oc here only because those are the ones I'm most comfortable talking about, since it's all my canon and my characters. Putting it below cause it's gonna get kinda long.
Cheren x Lear. The fanart got to me lol. I think they're cute.
Bianca x Roxie. My personal rare pair.
Hau x Gladion. It's not immediate,in fact it pretty much takes them years to even recognize they have romantic feelings for each other( like near adulthood years). Though even before that, I think the platonic love between them is just so sweet.
Kukui x Burnett x Guzma. I think Guzma deserves all the love, okay.
Kenji x Silver. The first oc x canon on this list!
I used to plan on shipping Kiran and Barry together, but recently I'm thinking aroace Barry is the Barry I want for my au. Not sure if he's romance averse, or if he's okay with being in a relationship that focuses on it. So, again, they're in a weird limbo, but honestly I might just have them be friends. I'm only adding it to the list cause I needed to get it off my chest hgvhvgvgvcg.
Cynthia x Diantha! Battle moms! Actually, no, I think battle wine aunts are probably a better term for them.
Maybe Cyrus x Saturn? Like honestly there's so much baggage here, and I don't want to make every single reconciliation of ones past turn into a romantic subplot. I do think Saturn has/had the hots for Cyrus tho.
Sycamore x Lysandre. They make me sad :)
Lillie x Amsonia. I already talked about them here. Amsonia and Gladion are wlw mlm hostility.
Short term Alexis x Leon. Long term Leon x Raihan x Piers( unless I change my mind abt Piers but for now he's in the throuple)
Jin x Kohaku x Wally cause I said so. Old people love ( they're 30)
Miguel ( Eva's dad) x Emmet. Old man yaoi
Naomi x Marnie <3. They've always been on my mind but I wanted to focus on the non romantic relationship drama that they had ( cause it's a lot), and like some other ships, they only really start to notice these feelings until way after swsh.
Unless I say otherwise, I don't mind y'all interpreting how I write Hop and Bede as romantic. Truthfully, I actually enjoy the ship, but realistically I can only see it happening way after swsh, when they're both matured and chilled out and are actually friends. So I guess they are ambiguous in my au? Idk. Still gonna focus on their friendship in my writing tho.
Sakura x Adaman and Zero x Volo! Sakura and Adaman actually had kids :3
I don't actually have a canon ship for SV right now. Trust me, I see the potential with some characters ( Ramona and Arven, Ramona and Nemona, Arven and Giacomo, etc), but because of that, and the fact I'm indecisive as hell, there isn't a canon ship for Legendverse! SV. I will still talk about them cause I have brainrot, but nothing is really canon just yet.
Obligatory Steven x Wallace, Red x Blue , Archie x Maxie, you know it, you get it.
And yeah! That's the ships at the top of my head. There's probably loads more that I just haven't thought about or seen haha. Just wanted to be on equal footing with you guys ( and try and gain a little more confidence in speaking about it).

Pokémon for the fandom thing
just like, in general? okay!
Favorite character: Blue, Hop and Lillie. Which one of them is the Actual Favorite varies by the hour but it's always one of them
Least Favorite character: those sword and shield hair guys, I don't care about remembering their names. I hate them so much I didn't even want to put them in my rewrite. I thought about it and realized the best fix was pretending they don't exist
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): In no specific order, namelessshipping, hardenshipping, postwickshipping, moonlilyshipping and surveyshipping. Honorable mentions to aquaheartshipping and lionheartshipping
Character I find most attractive: Sonia and Raihan. Do you know how hard that was to narrow down lmao
Character I would marry: Sonia! She's so cute and funny and has such a nice arc and I just want to take care of her and also rail her
Character I would be best friends with: Opal. I think she'd be a blast to hang out with
a random thought: these games are not that deep but it's very fun to pretend they are
An unpopular opinion: Sun and Moon are very good and my favorite Pokemon games and sumo haters are bitchless
My Canon OTP: Can I say namelessshipping or hardenshipping is that okay. I mean they're canon right like. that's okay right. But if not uuh... I don't remember the ship name for Kukui/Burnet but I LOVE them they're both so cool and hot and they love each other so much it's so sweet
My Non-canon OTP: take your pick of any of the ships I listed in favorite ships lmao
Most Badass Character: Cynthia or Leon. Or Red or Blue
Most Epic Villain: I am a big Lusamine stan but if we're talking epic I gotta give it to Volo. Who I also stan
Pairing I am not a fan of: as far as like, things that I see in my circle at least occasionally, I'm really not a fan of cheeryfairyshipping tbh
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): This would be a long fucking list lmao but if I have to pick just one, I'm gonna say Chairman Rose honestly. Like. I don't think I ever would have been a fan of him personally I just don't think he's the sort of villain I really like anyway, but he didn't need to be as badly written as he was and it really drags down the whole game cause like so much of it hinges on him cause he's the fucking villain lol
Favourite Friendship: Hop and Gloria. Also Dawn and Barry and basically the whole Alola cast they are all friends and I love them
Character I most identify with: idk if there's anyone really
Character I wish I could be: I don't think I want to be any of these people lmao. Wait nvm I want to be Opal cause she rules

✧Pokemon Professors as Yanderes✧
Honestly, I just felt like writing these out because I thought it'd be fun.
Didn't include Oak, Rowan, or Mongolia because I don't know if you'd guys be okay with me adding them. If you are alright with it, I'll post one with them (either as platonic yanderes or not)!
If you'd like for me to go more in depth with either of these professors, feel free to do so!
Warning(s): Delusional Mindsets, Obsessive Behavior (lots of it), Possessive Behavior, Clingy Behavior, Implied Stalking, Implied Manipulation
Characters: Professor Elm, Professor Birch, Professor Juniper, Professor Sycamore, Professor Kukui, Professor Burnet, Professor Bellis, Professor Willow
✧Professor Elm✧
I can see Elm being more of an obsessed yandere with hints of delusional under that. He's a yandere who keeps finding his thoughts going back towards you to the point where it interferes with his daily life. It really takes a toll on him as he finds it hard to sleep sometimes. Because of that, he makes lists of the little things he has noticed about you. For sure, he is a soft yandere and won't out right approach you with his feelings just yet. Elm wants to gather his scattered thoughts together before attempting anything. For now, he's alright with watching from afar, which he is content with but eventually he will have to confront you. You most likely won't notice his behavior towards you.
✧Professor Birch✧
Birch is one of the easier yanderes to get along with and actually, you might become friends during your time spent with him. He is very good at hiding his yandere traits from you under his friendly demeanor. Birch is a little protective here and there, but overall he is chill. He might display some smothering traits, but that's only later on since he does not want to drive you away. Birch is a careful guy and makes sure not to slip up. I can see him also being the type to invite you to join him on his little research trips around the environment to watch Pokemon. Just to have more time with you.
✧Professor Juniper✧
Like Elm, Juniper is a yandere who will gather all necessary information about you. It is only to get to know you a little better since she wants to explore these feelings further. So I can say she's more of a lucid yandere than the others. She is aware of this unhealthy mindset, but she honestly doesn't want to care. Meaning she sort of deludes herself a little just to make sure she does not lose it. Juniper is patient in her plan to becoming closer to you even if she wants to outright pour out her feelings.
✧Professor Sycamore✧
Same as some of the other professors, Sycamore is also an obsessive yandere who would like to get to know more about you. However, unlike Elm, he likes to get personal rather than just watch from the sidelines. He's in between Juniper and Elm (who is the highest of the three) when it comes to how obsessed they are of their darling. Also, unlike Juniper, Sycamore doesn't delude himself because he's already slightly delusional. He likes to find hints that you're interested in him and hold onto them as much as he can. Sycamore will also make sure you are never suspicious of him and makes you believe he is not capable of doing such things yanderes do.
✧Professor Kukui✧
Clingy is all I can say. Kukui absolutely loves spending time with you and he'd be lying if he said it was not a little agonizing when you're away from him for too long. He won't hover over you every second of the day, but he does like knowing what you're doing and where you are. I have mentioned in a post on my other blog that he highly believes you already know about his feelings towards you, but in all honesty it is hard to tell sometimes with him. So learning that you actually might not know just makes him want to try harder. You'll soon see how serious he is about you, yeah.
✧Professor Burnet✧
Just like Sycamore, she would rather get to know you on a personal level. Burnet wants to know your dreams and passions since it really excites her to see how much your eyes brighten when talking about those things. She's a very encouraging yandere who also wants to keep tabs on you every now and then, but isn't clingy like Kukui. There is patience behind her actions as she plans out how everything will go while getting closer to you. It honestly gets her real giddy waiting for the end results as she feels confident in winning your affections. All she hopes is that no one else is trying to win your heart or she'll have to pull some strings.
✧Professor Bellis✧
The most delusional out of all of them if I'm being honest. Miss Bellis here is a hopeless romantic and clings to the idea of everlasting bonds. So before meeting you, she has dreamed of living a life with someone one day even while in her research. Once again, she's also an obsessive yandere and could even rival Sycamore's level of obsession. Upon getting to know more about you, Bellis gets a little ahead of herself (which is why she is considered to be delusional as she forgets to get back to reality) and thinks of the many experiences you two will share! She's just so ecstatic! It would honestly confuse her a little if you ever reject her—why would that happen?
✧Professor Willow✧
A little different from the other professors, Willow can be a bit possessive over his darling. He isn't one to fall for someone easily and it's a process to get him to obsess over you. He enjoys spending time with you and he honestly can't get enough of your presence and attention. Similar to Kukui, he would like to know where you are and what you're doing, but less in a clingy way and more in a possessive way. Some part of him does feel off about this sort of behavior but he tells himself that he'll make sure it doesn't escalate too far. Willow just... Wants you to himself sometimes and yes, he does deem this a little selfish to just want to keep you occupied but it shouldn't feel this good, right?

Can you tell more about the Lycanroc that you just rescued please?
He came in as an aggressive patient, no one else would deal with him, I got an email from Kukui about a week ago about him, apparently so angry no one could handle him to check his health or wellbeing, and rehiring was out of the question at this point. He occasionally sends me cases like this to save them being put down, so I took the big guy without too much info.
He got sent with a file about a day later, the file had limited information. His name was once Rocco, though he has no response to it, he lived in a dog pokemons hoard, and seemed to be mixed with a lot of other, far bigger, far meaner Pokemon, so he became aggressive as a means of defence, like a lot of pup Pokemon can tend to do when pushed like this. He killed another Pokemon while in the care of this trainer, and thus got moved on, as they deemed him too much to handle. Quite frankly the trainers facilities were questionable, with further investigation Kukui had called Pokemon protection on them, and had 27 other Pokemon taken away from them, all with various different issues, luckily none as bad as this Lycanroc apparently. They got moved on to better homes, and from what I’ve heard, they’ve made good progress.
Now this Lycanroc is a midday form, a bit tatty looking and skinny at this point in time, he’s been with us a week, and has never been walked apparently, no vaccinations, no real core training other than brute force battling. First day in the facilities he bolted and went for Valka my dear vulpix, to no avail. She just picked him up and put him back in the kennel space, didn’t even flinch at him. Day two I made a critical error of trying to get a muzzle on him without Val as backup, damn thing slipped my hold and cracked me with his rocky collar, leaving me needing many stitches, and from the looks of it, probably permanently scared now. I went back after getting sewn back up the same day and confronted him, this time with a more functional team with me to handle him. Got a muzzle on him, got a good look at his body after he tired himself out thrashing around. Covered in fleas, utterly riddled with old bite scars, he was no doubt picked on by the other Pokemon he lived with. He is nervous as all hell, that’s all his behaviour is, fear.
Often aggression from Pokemon is just a way of expressing deep seated fear, nervousness is a real issue with Pokemon who aren’t socialised, who are picked on by other species, and who don’t get exposed to the world around them. After checking him over we left him to chill out, for the first time in his life as far as we know, alone from any other Pokemon, while we decided the best method for healing him, and who would suit his temperament best. I’ve personally got a midnight Lycanroc who came back with me from Galar not too long ago, so I was the one to take his case, being a bit use to the breed compared to the others, plus personal pride didn’t like that he got that hit on me so easily. Perhaps it’s wrong of me, but I don’t like to let this kind of behaviour beat me, so I dig my heels in normally when I get clipped by something.
Day 4 of his stay, he’s snapping at any Pokemon who comes close to the secure unit he’s staying in, Val is with me at all times now to make sure he’s kept in check when I’m not watching. She’s fearless, and he hates it, but now, after 4 days of her being stoic and unnerving, he’s not confronting her, and in turn looking at me with a bit more hesitation. In the Pokemons mind he’s probably looking at her like ‘oh shit you and that human are a team? Well I don’t want to mess with that right now’ and he’s skulking off to the back of his kennel space, instead of going nuts at the fence towards us. Good progress, less confrontational for now.
Day 5 we tried to get a walk in, short lead, muzzle, generally quite controlled, he didn’t like it to start with, but the island has...I don’t know, something oddly calming about it. We took a few laps, and he spent most of it fighting me for control, until we hit the lake, where he seemed to mellow out for a short while.
It’s going to be a long schedule of daily training, constant assertion of the pack and who’s boss, which is me, not him, much to his dismay. He’s got a huge prey drive, and is nervous with other Pokemon, but otherwise he’s just stressed out. I think time here will do him well. We’re working on respect and hierarchy, basic stuff like ‘sit’ and ‘hold’ for the most part. He’s snapped at me since but not as much.
I will try to update folks as he goes along his recovery, he’s not ready for other Pokemon yet, and certainly not one I’d have out and off a good strong lead, without other team mates around. Hopefully we can get him manageable and find him a good home. Building trust between him and other people is the start right now, he knocked me back but didn’t scare me off, and that rattled him, so he’s behaving a BIT better for now. Want to chase Tauros though, like, fiercely.
His fleas are being treated, he’s getting good meals he doesn’t have to fight for, and despite guarding his food (which is understandable) he’s not showing any physical illness luckily.

I’m curious. Of all the men you write for, which one, or ones, would you most want to be with in real life?
Oof, that's a good one! Okay, while I find most of the guys I write for hot, here's the ones on my dateable irl list. If I missed anyone, y'all can ask and I'll rate! ;)
I've bolded and colored in the 10/10s because it's a long list and you might wanna just cut to the chase
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars) - jk, I can't deal with the Jedi and their hypocrisy. But damnnnnn Ewan McGregor is FINE and Obi-Wan is such a charmer. - N/A
Benny Lafitte (Supernatural) - Hot buff vampire with a killer smile? Would protect me through anything? Not unhealthily codependent with his brother? Yes please. - 6/10 Would Date
Professor Kukui (Pokemon) - Yes please. Happy-go-lucky scientist who moonlights as a wrestler and has the body too? Yay. -9/10 Would Date - gotta dock him for being happily married. Damn. - N/A.
Link (The Legend of Zelda) - My first fictional husband. Yes to the sense of humor, the protectiveness, the love! Although a little bit quiet, poor lad. - 7/10 Would Date
Prince Sidon (The Legend of Zelda) - Look, I'm no monsterfucker, but Prince Sidon believes in me. You think I'm not gonna fall for that kind of validation??? - 10/10 Would Date.
Peeta Mellark (The Hunger Games) - Yay for cute soft baker man. I love him and want to protecc. But trauma plus his huge torch for Katniss is gonna make it tough. - 6/10 would date.
Markus (Detroit Become Human) - Handsome and just utterly noble and awesome. Parkouring genius and artist while being just unbelievably rational and emotional all at once. I love him. This android has stolen my heart. - 10/10 Would Date

Chrom (Fire Emblem) - Adorkable prince of Ylisse, why wouldn't you let my male Robin romance you? You've got a cute personality, you're sweet and clumsy, and you've got that one arm all bared for flexin'! Yum. Pack that up and give me two! - 8/10 Would Date
Odin/Owain (Fire Emblem) - This drama queen is a storyteller and a bisexual mess if I ever saw one, and I am HERE for it. I will pretend with you all day, Odin. Teach me magic and tell me of your undying love for me in as flowery language as you want! - 9/10 Would Date
Alistair Theirin (Dragon Age) - Best man in Thedas right here. I love him. I love his dorkiness. I love that he's not afraid to admit he'd rather someone else lead. I love how he's so young but not afraid to take up a cause he believes in. Total king. Will marry. - 10/10 Would Date
Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson) - Those of you who know me might think Percy's too much of a goofball and a dope. Well, you're wrong. I love Percy and I will gladly be his escape from all things mythological while also knowing enough about Greek myth to help him out - 7.5/10 Would Date
Jason Grace (Percy Jackson) - Okay, bud. Jason can be a little bland, I admit. But I still love him for his perseverance and dedication to his friends. I'd love to get to know him better. - 7/10 Would Date

Tonraq (LOK) - If Hakoda was a snack, Tonraq is a full course meal - look at the size of the man. MMMMM I love him. Waterbender and all around HUNK. And so caring! - 10/10 Would Date and I'm not even gonna dock him for being happily married to Korra's mom
Thor (Marvel) - Chris Hemsworth with long hair and ultimate himbo personality. Nuff said. 10/10 Would Date
Peter Parker (Marvel) - I love this nerd. 10/10 Would... not date because the people Peter Parker dates have a curious trend of dying horribly. Looking at you Gwen Stacy. I like my neck the way it is, so... sorry, Pete.
Pietro Maximoff (Marvel) - We didn't get enough time with this speedy snack. I like his charm and confidence and care for his sister. I wish he'd have at least gotten a real shirtless scene before he died. 8/10 Would Resurrect and Date
Bucky Barnes (Marvel) - Much like Peeta, the trauma is gonna be hard to help with, but I'm willing to make it work. 6.5/10 Would Date
Dick Grayson (DC) - Yes please. Positive, outgoing, friendly, but above all deeply caring and sweet. He's acrobatic and fun, but I feel like he'd love to just relax at home. - 9/10 Would Date
Barry Allen (DC) - Ball of sunshine in nerdy human form. I don't know what more anyone would want in a boyfriend. - 8/10 Would Date
Kyle Rayner (DC) - Admittedly, I don't know all that much about Kyle. But he seems chill and cool and way better than all the other Green Lanterns besides Alan Scott because initially he wasn't affiliated with the Corps so he wasn't a Space Cop. - 7/10 Would Date
Clark Kent (DC) - He's just.... super. And sweet. Yay. 10/10 Would Date

The Adults of the Emissary AU
Because of course our protagonists can’t take on all these bad guys by themselves! There are lots of grown-ups who TOTALLY know what they’re doing, haha! (Which, of course, is a lie. They have no idea what’s going on either!)
And there’s also the bad guys here that play important parts, because they’re here too, and some play some very interesting roles.
*Also disclaimer that there is some shipping.
HAHA AND THE THEME OF THIS GOING UNDER THE CUT BECAUSE IT’S WAY TOO LONG CONTINUES
Giovanni - As if he wouldn’t be included. After being defeated by Blue and then completely decimated by Red, Giovanni disappeared. But not to hide, but to gather his new forces. He would love for Silver to join him, but his son wants nothing to do with him. Giovanni is not someone to empathize with. He is cold, calculating, and willing to do terrible things to get his power and revenge.
Lance - Lance is an interesting case, but a crucial one. Lance is normally very calm with an intense edge, but recently that’s changed. He’s been having nightmares about a little girl, who warns him of terrible things yet to come. This has been going on for a while, and Lance is getting a little desperate as to what it all means.
Steven - As the Champion of the Hoenn region, Steven wants to do what’s best for both people and pokemon. He convinces Brendan to feel the same once he realizes that Brendan might defeat him in a challenge. However, his father and the pokemon league may not agree with some of Steven’s environmentalist methods, as the league is pushing for a more industrial approach. It makes the confrontation with Teams Magma and Aqua more intense for Steven, who agrees with their end goals, but not the means of going about it.
Wallace - Wallace is the Sootopolis gym leader, a contest idol, the guardian of the Cave of Origin, and Steven’s loyal husband. Wallace is much more laid-back than Steven, and so is helpful in calming Steven, Brendan, and May down when they all get hyped up about something. Wallace also is an incredibly skilled trainer, and fights both Archie and Maxie at the same time, defeating Maxie before Archie slips away.
Archie - Archie’s motivation is the same as it always has been. However, he would very much like to be friends with Maxie again, as it seemed like their friendship was developing into something more before they split into Magma and Aqua. But now, Kyogre is all that matters. Beat Maxie. Increase the sea. Those are the only rules. But there should have been an extra rule about making sure to not touch the Blue Orb, because that’s where the real problem is.
Maxie - Maxie’s motivation is the same as it always has been. While he wants to talk to Archie about their past, his pride won’t let him, and if that fails, Tabitha definitely won’t let him. In the meantime, summon Groudon. When Maxie is defeated by Wallace at the Cave of Origin, Archie surges ahead to summon Kyogre. While Maxie is able to summon Groudon to fight Kyogre, he has much bigger problems with Archie’s situation. And then of course, is when Giovanni makes his entrance.
Cynthia - Cynthia is a bit scatterbrained and tends to ramble on, but she knows that something is amiss. It’s pure luck that Dawn, Barry, and Lucas figure out Team Galactic’s plans before her, but she’s always right there to make sure the kids never get in over their heads. As for the leader of Team Galactic, she never thought she’d see him again, and as soon as she stops Giratina, she’s having a very stern talk about how you don’t abandon friends. Unfortunately, Cynthia doesn’t really get to have that talk.
Cyrus - Cyrus’s motivation has always been the same. To get rid of spirit. Dawn and Cynthia just keep interrupting his plans and trying to talk to him about feelings and happiness. Getting trapped in the Distortion World isn’t the worst, if it means he can avoid talking to Cynthia, but Giovanni has other plans.
Ghetsis - Ghetsis is the worst. There’s literally nothing else to say. He tries to kill N constantly once N figures out that Ghetsis isn’t as kind as he says he is. He’s dismissive of Colress. And he’s the reason that Hilbert goes missing for two years. Ghetsis is so mean he makes Giovanni look like a Dunsparce. He inserts himself into Giovanni’s evil boy band with the plan of taking over. At least he’s not subtle about it. Giovanni knows exactly what’s going on.
Colress - Colress is one of the only members of Rainbow Rocket to voluntarily join, and the only one of the voluntary ones to not be seeking revenge. He’s merely interested in what Giovanni intends to do with this “Ultra Space” plan of his. If he can study the strange readings he’s been getting from certain trainers, then he’ll be happy. That, and if Ghetsis and Rosa will both leave him alone.
Sycamore - Sycamore has a lot of issues. All signs point to Lysandre somehow being involved with Team Flare, but he would never do something that stupid. And when the truth comes out, how can Sycamore ever forgive the man he thought he’d spend the rest of his life with?
Diantha - Diantha knows that Lysandre must be involved with Team Flare, but she doesn’t want to accuse him without having any solid proof. If it’s not true, she’ll ruin her friendship with Lysandre. If it’s true, Sycamore will be inconsolable. Diantha’s stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Lysandre - Lysandre knows the world must be purified. Even at great personal loss. His plan is to keep Diantha off his back and Sycamore blissfully unaware. But then a crucial part of his plan goes missing, and Lysandre fails to see his best laid plans falling to pieces around him. Even when he is left for dead, Giovanni and Colress can’t seem to let him die in peace.
Kukui - Kukui’s pretty chill, considering that the kids are discovering portals to a suspicious alternate world. That’s more Burnet’s thing, anyway. He figures that Selene can handle herself with that, and he might need to hop in to help Elio with taking down Team Skull. He’s got some unfinished business he really would like to discuss.
Burnet - Burnet is one of the lucky ones. She avoids getting involved with the Ultra Space fiasco in Alola, but manages to learn a lot from the experience. What comes first in her mind now is to fix the friendships that have been damaged by past events, like Kukui and Guzma’s. Her experience with Ultra devices will definitely come in handy though.
Guzma - Guzma had a tough time when Lusamine got involved with Ultra Space, but now he’s having a nice time helping Kukui around the lab. They’re on much better terms now, and Guzma’s ready to put his past behind him. It’s a shame Rainbow Rocket goes after him first.
Lusamine - Lusamine went into hiding after being defeated by Selene, Elio, and their friends. Giovanni quickly reached out to her, and Lusamine became one of the most loyal members of Rainbow Rocket. She even got Colress to promise her a Nihilego sometime. She has yet to cash in the deal, but it’s there.
Faba - It was Lusamine who recommended that Giovanni invite Faba to help Colress with his latest project. Colress despises the man, but Faba definitely helped to get the project off the ground a lot quicker.
Leon - As Galar’s champion, Leon’s a busy man. Lucky for him, he’s got Rose to support him. However, some of Rose’s behavior is a bit concerning. Leon may be the worst at reading directions, but he’s got a knack for reading people. Rose is up to something, and Leon’s going to protect Hop and his friends from whatever Rose is scheming.
Sonia - Sonia’s got a lot on her plate as the new pokemon professor of Galar. Most recently, she’s been invited to help work on the Universal PokeDex and help write the entries on Dynamax. If only she wasn’t a technology disaster.
Rose - Rose knows what has to be done for Galar. He also knows that Leon isn’t clever enough to catch on. That may not be true. Rose hires Victor as his personal photographer, and while the future of Galar comes first, Victor has a very interesting story from his time in Kalos, and Rose is desperate to know what secret the boy is leaving out.
Looker - Looker’s investigated teams Rocket, Galactic, and Flare, and been hired to help track down former members of every other team that’s popped up in the past decade. Too many coincidences are happening to let the leaders of these organizations escape him, and Looker knows he’s about to crack the case.

Falling: Chapter 6
Pairing: Raihan x Reader
Falling in love is easy…
It’s falling out of love that’s the hard part.
Masterlist
Chapter 6: Shameless
Gazing out the window at the fluffy clouds next to you, you try to keep your nerves at bay. Going back to Alola isn’t really what you want to be doing at this exact moment and, yet you know there are loose ends to tie up.
“You okay, beautiful?” Raihan asks from his seat next to you, offering you a snack as his eyes take in your form.
“Yeah… just nervous I guess… going back is going to be hard. There are a lot of ...things… that need to be said.”
“Well, just consider me your emotional support Raihan, I’ll be there when you need me,” he says, his smile not quite meeting his eyes.
You roll your eyes as you glance over at him but you can’t keep the smile off of your face.
“Thank’s Rai… This might just be more than you bargained for though.”
Raihan scoffs in disbelief, his hands gripping the arms of the plane seat just a little tighter, “you know I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t want to be, right?”
“Still… I shouldn’t have just up and left… A lot of people are very upset with me.”
“They’ll get over it,” he says with a confidence that you don’t feel. The bit of turbulence that rocks the plane has him pulling you against him. “Raihan… Are you scared of flying?”
He scoffs again, “of course not!”
He can’t hide the whimper in his voice when the plane shakes again unexpectedly.
His arms wrap around you tighter as he pulls you in for probably the fifteenth selfie that day. Clearly the man is trying to calm his nerves with a photo.
“Raihan! Don’t you have enough?” You practically whine at him.
“Pictures of you? Never!” He says while flashing you a devilishly handsome smile, it becomes one of panic as the plane dips and his hold tightens once more.
“Hey! Looks like we’re almost there!” You exclaim trying to calm your ‘emotional support Raihan’ down. About that time you hear the captain come over the intercom system announcing your arrival in Alola and that you would be landing soon.
“Are you ready for the madness?” You ask, glancing over at Raihan out of the corner of your eyes.
“What do you mean?”
“Oh… You’ll see…”
Stepping off of the plane into the Alolan sun is both a comfort and the moment you’ve been dreading most. You can hear many voices in the crowd whispering about you as you square your shoulders and make your way through the airport. Raihan’s hand is on the small of your back as he guides you through the crowd. You don’t pay much attention to the cameras suddenly going off in all directions and the microphones thrust into your face. They yell questions at you from all angles, and despite Raihan’s best attempt at shielding you from the madness, you knew this was going to happen.
You slide into the waiting car with Raihan right behind you. He sighs the moment the door is closed then looks over at you, “are you okay? I wasn’t expecting that…”
“I was…” You murmur as you turn to gaze out the window at the scenery passing by. Once upon a time, this had been your dream home, but now it feels vaguely like a nightmare you can’t wake up from. You close your eyes as an array of memories assault your mind and you rest your forehead against the glass.
Raihan remains silent as he watches you and it’s clear he isn’t sure what to do. You arrive at your old place as Raihan gazes around in wonder. There is a large dome encompassing what would be your backyard and he can hardly believe all the Pokemon that are milling about.
“There are…”
“Pretty cool, huh?” You smirk.
He just nods in awe as he follows you into your house.
The sound of footsteps alerts you to another presence in your home and Acerola barrels around the corner. She stops abruptly when she sees you and a look of wide-eyed wonder dances across the fourteen-year-old’s face before she glares and places her hands on her hips as she regards you with barely contained anger.
You turn towards Raihan, “there is a guest room upstairs to the left. Why don’t you get settled then we will talk about dinner, kay?”
Raihan just nods as he glances between the two of you before he grabs your suitcase as well as his and makes his way up the stairs. He glances back just once to take in your expression and you give him an encouraging smile before you turn to the teen who is like your little sister.
“You left,” she states forlornly, tears in the corners of her eyes.
“I know… I wasn’t thinking…”
“You didn’t even answer your phone for two days!” Acerola yells, tears lacing her words more than her anger.
You looked away from her and just nodded, “let’s go sit down so we can talk.”
“I don’t want to talk! I want to yell at you!”
“That’s okay too,” you say patiently.
It’s at that moment she bursts into tears and rushes towards you, you catch her in your arms and hold her while she sobs against you.
“You left…” she sobs while she holds you.
“I know… But I had to…”
“WHY?”
“I couldn’t stay here anymore,” you murmured sadly.
“I thought you loved us! Was losing to Hau really that bad?” She asks with a hiccup.
“I do love you… I just…” You looked away as you held back the tears threatening to spill.
“What?” She asks quietly.
“I had to… Get away…”
“From us?” Acerola asks her voice cracking.
You pull her back and look into her eyes, “no. Not from your or Hau.”
“Then from who?”
You look away from her, unable to look her in the eye as you try to keep your emotions in check.
“WHO?!” She screams in impatience.
“Kukui…”
She jerks back in confusion, “The professor?! Why? I don’t understand! You guys are best friends!”
“Yes… We are best friends, but…”
“But what?” She asks, steeling her voice.
“I love him… As more than a friend…” You become silent at the last part as if you are afraid of saying it out loud. Have you ever said it out loud before?
“But… He’s… Married. You can’t love him like that!” she says shock in her voice.
“I know Acerola… That’s why I can’t stay here. I fell in love with my best friend and I can’t have him…”
“I’m sure you can just… Get over it right? Get over him?” She asks, confusion and desperation lacing her words.
“I’ve tried…” you wrap your arms around yourself and try to look anywhere else but at Acerola.
“So you’re leaving,” her voice is cold.
“I have to… For me…” you reply softly.
“I hate you!” She seethes before she storms out of your front door. You wince as it slams shut behind her.
“You okay?” Raihan asks after a few moments of you just standing in your entrance foyer.
You look up at him with tears falling down your face and shake your head no. He quickly takes the stairs two at a time to get to you before he scoops you up into his arms. Sobs wrack your body as Raihan holds you close against him, comforting you the best he can. You knew when you came back you would be mourning the life you would never have as much as the one you are leaving behind.
You don’t know how long you stay like that, the emotions are suffocating, but you can’t bring yourself to let go of Raihan. He has become your rock in a lot of ways that you didn’t expect him to. You pull back eventually and give him a watery smile.
“I’m okay…” You croak out, “let’s grab something to eat…”
He just nods as his eyes ask if you are sure. You give him a reassuring smile as you pull away completely before you finally head deeper into the house half expecting Hau to be around the corner ready to yell at you as well. You make your way into the kitchen and slump onto a bar stool, folding your arms on the counter and resting your head in them you take a deep breath.
Pulling yourself fully together you pull out your phone and pull up a delivery app, “want a rice bowl or something?”
“Uhh… Sure!” Raihan says as he leans over your shoulder, his hand resting on the counter next to your arm. You can feel the warmth radiating off of him as he’s just mere inches from your back. Glaring down at the app you try to ignore the way he makes you feel, mentally telling yourself that you don’t have time for that right now.
After placing your orders you lean back in your seat as Raihan takes a seat across from you at the counter.
“You want to talk about it?” he finally asks, breaking the silence.
“What is there to talk about? I ran away from everyone when I ran away from Kukui…”
“The professor is the one who you’re running from, right?”
“He is…”
“Because he’s married?”
“And I love him…”
“Does he know?” Raihan asks after a beat of silence.
“I- I don’t… know…” You sigh and try to look anywhere but at him.
“Hey… It’s okay, you don’t have to be ashamed of your feelings for him, okay? You’re doing what’s right for you now and people need to understand that. If they don’t, that’s on them.”
You wipe the tears from the corners of your eyes as you sniff. You nod softly before you gaze up at him, “thank you,” you whisper as you reach out to him.
Raihan takes your hand in his and gives a gentle squeeze. He holds your gaze before he draws you closer to him, bringing your entwined hands to his chest, “you know you’re amazing right?”
You smile and look away, “Stop Rai…”
“I mean it, Kukui isn’t the man for you, you are not meant to be second best to anyone you know that right?”
You look at him to see a serious expression on his handsome face. A soft smile blossoms onto your face as you gaze back at him, “I know…”
“Good, and don’t you forget it,” he says with a wink.
You hear the doorbell and Raihan jumps up, “I’ll get it, it’s probably the food!”
The commotion at the front door isn’t that of polite delivery services. You come around the corner to see Raihan blocking the door for the person on the other side.
“Listen man… Now isn’t a good time…” You hear Raihan say with forced calmness.
“I need to talk to her. Who even are you?” You recognize the voice instantly.
“That doesn't matter right now, what matters is that she needs to rest before anything else gets hurled at her today,” you don’t miss the slight growl to Raihan’s voice. You can tell he’s starting to get annoyed with him.
“So you’re making decisions for her, cuz? What are you, her boyfriend?” The familiar voice spits back in disdain.
“Kukui… Now isn’t a good time,” you say making your presence known to them both.
Raihan whips around to face you, concern evident in his teal eyes. You simply nod to him with assurance.
“We need to talk!” You hear Kukui practically yell from around Raihan.
“Later,” is your only reply before you turn around and walk back into the kitchen. You hear a heavy sigh just before you round the corner. The faint voice of Raihan echoes in the entrance foyer but you don’t pay attention. Heading down the hallway leading off of your kitchen, you make your way to the habitat outside. The lush gardens that your pokemon inhabit are gorgeous and soothing. It’s easily one of your favorite places in the house. You were going to miss this.
“This is amazing,” you hear Raihan say with wonder in his voice as he comes up behind you.
“It’s my favorite place in the world,” you say, glancing over your shoulder at him. You can see the way he’s studying you to gauge your reaction to what just happened.
“You’re okay?” He asks for confirmation.
“I am,” you say with finality to your voice, “I’ve been waiting for this for a long time.”
“To talk to him?”
“For closure… I’m ready to move on to something better, and brighter.”
“I’m better…” Raihan says with faux innocence as he wraps an arm around you casually, “I mean we are getting married, so I must be, right?”
You laugh for the first time all day, “you are better, definitely better.”
You don’t see the grin on his face or the way he looks at you as if the sun rises and sets with you. You just know that Raihan feels safe and that whatever happens in the future, as long as he is there, it will be much brighter.
***
After you both have eaten, you grab Raihan and throw one of the gaudy Alola print shirts he insisted upon buying at him, instructing him to put it on.
“Where are we going?” he asks, excitement in his eyes.
“The beach,” you say with a smile before throwing on a cute sundress for the walk. You miss the look on Raihan’s face as he takes in your form in the cute dress.
“So, you’re trying to kill me, is that it?” He asks as he follows you out the door.
You glance over your shoulder at him, “what do you mean?”
“Have you seen yourself? You look amazing in that dress!”
You smirk over your shoulder at him, “well if you like it so much then…”
“What?” He asks eagerly as you pause.
“Nothing…” You say innocently as you make your way towards the beach not even 100-feet from your house.
“Hey now! You better finish what you started with that sentence!”
You giggle before you take off towards the water, the sunset painting the sky hues of reds, oranges, and golds. You feel your body relax as your feet hit the chilly waves, Raihan wrapping his arms around you when he finally catches up. You stumble at the impact but remain upright as Raihan chuckles pulling you back against him.
“I can see why you moved here,” Raihan remarks suddenly still. A breeze sends a shiver down your spine aided by the cool water and setting sun. Raihan pulls you closer, your back to his chest as you watch the sunset over the horizon.
“It’s beautiful,” you murmur, still transfixed by the colors it’s displaying.
“It still doesn’t have anything on you…” He murmurs in your ear, sending a shiver down your spine that has nothing to do with the cold. You turn in his arms and gaze up into his eyes. You’ve come to trust those deep teal eyes and you adore them.
“Raihan,” you whisper, his name is a prayer on your lips as you gaze up at him through your lashes.
Raihan pulls you against him as his hand comes up to caress your cheek, his thumb brushes over your lips before he dips his head. His nose brushes yours in a light tease as his breath fans your face and you swallow a groan as his arm tightens around your waist. Had there been even an inch of space between your bodies, it was gone now.
He hums as he leans down to brush his lips against yours, but before he is able to, a familiar voice cuts through the peaceful moment like a knife.
“(Y/N)! There you are! Oh! Am I interrupting something?”
“Actually, yes,” Raihan says in annoyance turning to glare at Kukui.
Pulling away from Raihan, you turn to Kukui standing on the beach in his signature look, lab coat open to reveal a toned chest and his cropped pants lower on his hips than you remember. You pull back from Raihan completely, who only looks annoyed not only at the interruption but the very man standing before you.
“Kukui… What are you doing here?” You ask as you take a couple of steps away from Raihan towards Kukui. Raihan’s narrowed eyes following your every step.
“We need to talk about why you left.”

Ships Passing in the Night and Sailing Together Until Morning - Chapter 3
Between the Two of Us
Summary: Satoshi visits his family. Goh gets some advice. Kaki does what he knows how to, and it's more helpful than one would expect.
[Read on Ao3!]
[<Prev. Chapter] [Next Chapter>]
It was relatively quiet in the plane’s cabin, save for the steady hum of it’s engine. It was an odd sort of noise, reminiscent of a vacuum, but surrounding them on all sides.
Night had fallen over the plane, or rather the plane was gently gliding through night, and would inevitably part ways with it soon. But for the moment, at least, it was night.
Most were silent, with the few exceptions being a flight attendant here or there whispering to one another or the odd still awake passenger with a request.
Most were asleep.
Satoshi and Goh were not most.
Satoshi had gotten the seat by the window, Goh the one on the aisle, Satoshi having won rock paper scissors for the right to the view.
Arguably there wasn’t much of a view at the moment, though at least the deep blue sky had sprawling clouds drifting across it, obscuring the landscape beneath. The light from the regions below shone bright enough to reflect against those clouds, casting the sky in a brighter hue than the pure shadow inside the plane.
The plane’s seat felt huge, Goh made smaller just by sitting in it. His head tipped to one side, leaning against the too-large head rest. Though his eyes were shut, he could not sleep. It might’ve been the hum of the plane, but then again he had never been quite able to sleep on car or train rides, so maybe that carried over to planes as well.
He had tried to sleep, the flight was to be a long stretch across the globe after all. Alola took nine hours to travel to via plane, with their flight scheduled to land sometime in the morning.
Normally Goh preferred to travel during the day, but this was a last minute trip, and he was grateful for what he could get.
Keeping his eyes shut as though opening them would somehow make him more awake, Goh rubbed his thumb against his palm.
He was excited to go to Alola, he knew this. That was why his heart was racing, that was why he couldn’t fall asleep. It was exciting. There would be new things to see, new pokemon to catch, new people to meet.
Well, new to Goh. Because to Satoshi, they were family.
Perhaps Goh wasn’t being entirely truthful to himself. Meeting someone’s family was a big deal after all, and when they lived in an entirely different region…
Satoshi had explained to Goh throughout their long trip through the airport all about his trip turned residency in Alola. Admittedly, Goh hadn’t followed all of it, there was a lot of confusing talk of wormholes and star candies and bug racing for some reason, and Goh had been more focused on getting them through the airport without issue. One thing he was sure of though, was that Satoshi loved Alola.
Not just because he could spend the entire forty minute trip through the airport check in and subsequent two hour wait at the gate talking about how interesting it was that in Alola, people said “Alola” as both hello and the region name, but because of just how happy he had seemed to share any little tidbit about the place. Even as they boarded the plane, Satoshi happily rambled about the time he almost died via Nemush while camping. Goh listened intently to that one, concerned more so at how nonchalantly Satoshi recounted the whole affair. Now that the plane’s internal lights had been turned off for the night, he had fallen silent.
Or… as silent as Satoshi could be. He wasn’t a very quiet person. Goh could hear how kept pushing at the button on his phone, a rhythmic sort of clicking sound.
Click. Clicky-click. Click-
The rotom inside let out an angry buzz, seemingly unhappy at being fidgeted with.
“Ah… sorry. Didn’t mean to wake you.” Satoshi’s voice came hushed from Goh’s right.
Goh let his eyes peek open. His vision came blurred at first, eyes squinting as they took in his surroundings. The seat in front of him sat imposingly, still seeming impossibly large, though he supposed he was just short in comparison. Messon had opted to curl up asleep on Goh’s lap, it’s fin gently twitching as it let out a sigh in it’s sleep. Goh wondered what it was dreaming about. He let his hand rest on Messon’s back, the pokemon feeling somehow both scaly and soft.
He glanced to where Satoshi sat.
Similarly, Pikachu had curled up in Satoshi’s lap, his head leaning against the window. Satoshi’s fingers combed through Pikachu’s fur ever so gently, though Goh thought he could spot Satoshi's phone poking out of his vest pocket, likely having been shoved there a few moments earlier.
It was a bit hard to make out the exact objects and shapes, the inside of the plane being dark enough to turn Satoshi into a silhouette with a few features if Goh squinted enough. The only lights came from the tiny walkway in the centre, and the lights bouncing off the clouds out the window.
“Satoshi,” Goh whispered, his voice coming out breathy.
“Goh,” Satoshi replied equally quiet, though his surprise still came through. “You’re still awake?”
“So are you,” Goh answered, though it wasn’t really the response Satoshi was asking for.
Satoshi let out a light laugh.
“Yeah, I couldn’t sleep.”
Something about his voice made Goh let out a contented sigh as he smiled, equally as soft.
“Too excited?” He asked, on the verge of teasing.
“Yeah…” Satoshi said, “I just… I can’t wait for you to see everything and meet everyone, it’s all so amazing and bright and… it’s great. You’ll love it. I hope you love it at least.”
Goh let one hand rest on the chair’s arm between them.
“I’m sure I will.”
The drone of the plane’s engine filled the gap in their conversation.
“What about you? Are you excited?”
Goh smiled into the darkness.
“Of course… I just hope they like me.”
Which is more than Goh probably would’ve shared had this been anyone else, but things were different when he was with Satoshi.
“They will, I know it. My family in Alola are some of the sweetest people in the whole world.”
And Goh knew he could take that as truth, Satoshi had seen most of it.
Though he could not sleep, the exhaustion from the travel so far was setting in.
“Mm… tell me about them?’
A ring of light shone around Satoshi, illuminating him from behind.
“Of course.”
Goh tried to listen, but something about the dull roar of the engines and Satoshi’s hushed voice was the perfect lullaby.
“I went to school in Alola with five other students, all around the same age as us. The school was all about pokemon, it was way way better than the schools I had to go to back in Kanto.”
A flight attendant walked by, the clicking of their shoes growing as they grew closer and fading as they continued to walk along.
“I’ll start with the tallest person in class, Kaki.”
Goh idly wondered why Satoshi decided height mattered in this context, then remembered it was Satoshi, and it probably made perfect sense to him, which was good enough for Goh.
“He’s so cool. He knows all these amazing things about Alola, and especially Akala Island, which is where he lives. Alola has four main islands, and I guess Aether Paradise kind of counts? Not as one of the main islands, it doesn’t have a deity or anything but it is floating there, so maybe it’s an island? Suiren said it was a ‘large floating structure’ once, but I don’t know if that was a joke or the official name for it. I wonder if it’s the same for the stadium...”
Satoshi’s head slid down as he whispered, eventually coming to rest on Goh’s shoulder. Goh lost track of what Satoshi was saying momentarily, becoming hyper aware of Satoshi’s jaw moving slightly as he spoke, his mouth dangerously close to Goh’s shoulder.
“-really the kindest guy though, he cares about his sister so much and is really dedicated to the whole region, he’s got so much pride for it all and I really love him for it, yanno? Some people say he looks intimidating but I just don't see it.”
Goh let his head drift downward in kind until it rested against the top of Satoshi’s. A strand of Satoshi’s hair brushed against Goh’s cheek. He ignored it. For now, he would listen silently, happily.
“Next is Lillie, I think, no wait- Mao was taller wasn’t she? Why did I think Lillie was tall- oh it's the hat. Never realized how much shorter than my classmates I was. Huh. Mao’s really cool and also really nice, we don’t have a class leader but if we did it would be Mao-“
The plane drifted across the sky lazily, set to reach Alola in the morning and slowly making its way there overnight. Whether Goh or Satoshi fell asleep first, neither could say, but by the time they woke up, the Alolan sunrise was greeting them through the window.
--
Despite Satoshi mainly using onomatopoeia and wild hand gestures to explain his friends in Alola, when Goh met them he understood exactly what Satoshi had meant.
Professor Kukui had come to pick them up at the airport, and had asked friendly questions about Goh’s pokemon and Satoshi’s battles the whole ride there. While Goh couldn’t muster up the confidence to reply in anything more than simple answers, there was something so genuine about how Kukui spoke to him that he appreciated more than he could say. It wasn’t too much to worry about anyway, Satoshi was more than happy to answer on behalf of the both of them.
Satoshi just sprung to life in that way he did when talking about his passions, and Goh was more than content to watch and chime in when needed. Despite the fact he was sure Satoshi had to have filled his friends in Alola in about at least some of these things— they had to have known about the research fellowship and Goh’s existence in advance, right?— Kukui replied with genuine interest to everything Satoshi said. And, if Goh was reading him correctly, fondness as well.
Kukui himself was a bit of an enigma, at least in how he related to Satoshi. He was a pokemon professor, the class’s teacher, and Satoshi’s roommate as well, though looking at the way they interacted and how Satoshi described him, Goh didn’t think ‘roommates’ was the best word to describe it.
Satoshi’s words from the plane rang in his ears.
He started to understand what he meant by family.
Goh didn’t quite know how to feel about that, but he took comfort in Satoshi and Kukui’s happiness around each other.
Professor Burnet was similar to Kukui in many ways, passionate and excitable, yet much more dialed back. He supposed that had something to do with being a mother and all. Though, by the way she looked and acted around Satoshi made it seem as though Lei wasn’t her first child. The way she smiled at him, asked him about how training had been coming along, told him about Mokuroh falling asleep on a pile of laundry the other day, all of it was so gentle.
Goh kept thinking about how she had smiled when she had opened the door, how she sounded as she called Satoshi Lei’s brother.
Awkwardly, he stood there, feeling as though he was interrupting a family reunion. No, not feeling. He was fairly certain he was.
But Satoshi was too kind, and the professors were too welcoming, so he was ushered inside the house to greet all sorts of affectionate, Satoshi-like pokemon.
It was all a bit overwhelming, though not necessarily in a bad way.
Thankfully, Satoshi was as excited to show Goh the beach and the rest of the island as he was to show him the house, and they soon waved the professors goodbye, at least until they returned there that night.
With boundless energy, Satoshi dragged Goh across the island, eager to point out every little crack and crevice where anything remotely interesting had happened.
“This is where I talked to Gladio on the beach the first time, and a little bit further down the beach is where I talked to him and he told me he was starting his trial but more importantly where we held the wedding- oh and even further down the beach is the place where I almost got poisoned by Hidoide on a class beach trip, and over there-“
His mouth ran like a broken faucet, but Goh was glad for it. Something about hearing the retellings of Satoshi’s past adventures made him feel closer to Satoshi, even if it could never compare to actually being there. In fairness, he probably rambled on about Alolan pokemon Satoshi had come to see as commonplace, but never once did Satoshi utter a word of complaint.
Goh liked that about them, how Satoshi just got him, like that. He wondered if Satoshi thought the same, vice versa.
Then he got distracted in his pokemon hunting and fell off of a cliff.
Admittedly, it took Goh far too long to realize that this was the same Suiren that Satoshi had been telling him about only hours prior, but in all fairness he had just fallen off of a cliff and that can shock a person.
Suiren explained something or other about schools or parties while she drove him back to dry land, though Goh was more focused on admiring the ride pokemon that carried them across the crystal blue waters. Thankfully, she seemed to have some experience with easily distracted people, and somehow managed to get them to the Pokemon School without incident.
The Pokemon School was in the running for one of the coolest structures Goh had ever seen. It was massive and yet so open that in some places he hardly felt like he was indoors at all. In Alola he supposed that was the point, with the warm sun and fresh breeze carrying into the classroom. Goh agreed with Satoshi, he would enjoy school much more if he went here instead. Maybe then, he would go to school every day, and not just for tests. Goh pictured it for a moment, going to this school and learning about Pokémon every day, Satoshi by his side.
Goh wondered when Satoshi became part of this daydream.
He was ushered through the hallways by an excited Suiren, pushed until he was sitting at an open desk and swarmed by what were presumably the rest of Satoshi’s school friends.
Satoshi’s friends were... loud. That was the first word that came to mind. Loud and excitable, and very very curious. He didn’t really blame them, from their perspective he was probably just some strange guy who their old friend had hauled back here with him. Of course they’d be curious.
But Goh could feel his anxiety growing with all the watching eyes. Mentally, he prayed for Satoshi to hurry up and get here already before he ended up yelling or crying.
Still, even with all the shoving and questions and attempts to fish his phone out of his pocket to experiment on, Goh could see it.
That passion and excitement that Satoshi had so fondly recalled.
Still, he was relieved for a moment when Kaki showed up and pulled the rest of the class's attention for a moment.
Of course that relief was subsided a bit by Kaki’s incredulous reaction to finding out he was exactly a huge battler, but he’d take what he could get.
Thankfully, he didn’t have to worry for long, as soon enough Satoshi returned, a strange, floating sort of Rotom Index accompanying him.
Goh felt his entire body relax as Satoshi entered the room, a smile rising to his face subconsciously.
Pulled again, taken from room to room in a blur that didn’t quite make sense, but wasn’t as unpleasant with Satoshi alongside him.
Soon enough, he was sitting for lunch with Satoshi sitting next to him, a buffer between him and Mao.
This was nice. The food was good, the conversation was much easier with Satoshi next to him. It was wonderful, truly, to hear about all Satoshi’s classmates' dreams.
But though he cursed himself for it, when he glanced around at the table he felt his stomach tie in knots.
Satoshi looked so comfortable with these people, so happy here. Even when jealousy would begin to bubble up, Goh could never really find it lasting longer than a fleeting moment.
Satoshi was so happy, he wouldn’t dare take that away. It was everything, seeing his face alight like that.
The only thing Goh had to be upset over was his own selfishness. His wish that he could be the thing to make Satoshi smile like that.
He didn’t have time to dwell on it, though.
Kaki was firmer in his request to battle than Goh had initially given him credit for. And despite the rest of the class's gentle urges to back down, Kaki stood with purpose. Goh could respect that. More importantly, Satoshi could respect that, and Goh knew he’d want to see.
So for the sake of his so-called pride, Goh agreed.
This was a fight he never could have won. Even without the Z-Moves— which Goh thought were incredibly interesting, he’d have to bother Kikuna and Renji about them later— Kaki was stronger than him, more experienced, just better than him.
This was not Kaki’s fault, Goh had agreed to this, so it didn’t feel in any way unfair. Only… uneven.
If anything, he regretted dragging Rabbifoot into this, a flame on flame battle was a poor choice when he knew he was the weaker competitor in nearly every aspect. Still, Namakobushi had been caught only a few hours ago and surely it was rude to toss it into a match just like that. Messon was never even an option, and he hadn’t brought any other pokemon with him.
Despite Rabbifoot’s best efforts, they never stood a chance.
A flaming inferno was staring him right in the face, and Goh was frozen, powerless to do anything.
Something in the back of his mind registered the flames as beautiful, and while certainly true, likely not the thing that should be going through his mind at that moment.
He wondered what Satoshi was thinking, if he was disappointed. Would he fear for Goh? Pity him?
Satoshi’s words from the plane spoke out to Goh again. Satoshi trusted Kaki, he knew Kaki.
So Goh decided to trust him too.
Goh blinked.
He wasn’t sure exactly when he had grabbed onto Rabbifoot, but seeing as he and pokemon were decidedly not burnt to crisps, nor flecks of ash blowing in the breeze, it would appear as though his trust had paid off.
Garagara waved and cheered, and Goh realized dimly that Kaki had tasked Garagara with rescuing them from the hell flames.
Good. That was good.
Even if Goh felt the tiniest bit bitter he lost, it was a fruitless endeavour anyway. Still, part of him wished he could’ve won. If for no other reason than to see the look on Satoshi’s face.
Kaki wasn’t about to let him sulk for long though.
Standing in front of him, arm outstretched, Kaki met Goh’s eye with a smile. Not one of superiority or condescension, but of friendship.
“Look after Satoshi for me, alright?”
It clicked in Goh’s head that this was part of a challenge, to see if he was good enough for Satoshi. And that the challenge may not have started and ended at his battling skills. With the way Kaki was smiling at him at least, it didn’t feel like a failure at all. A new, refreshing feeling.
Perhaps with too much force, perhaps on purpose, Goh took Kaki’s hand and pulled himself to standing.
“I may not be his rival, but I can certainly look after him for you!”
It wasn’t until after the words had passed through his lips, and with such confidence too, that it registered that this was the second time he had made this exact promise. Third, if he counted Pikachu.
Kaki threw his arm around Goh's shoulder, pulling him close. As Satoshi had said, he truly was a kind guy. The embrace was firm, and in contrast to the near inferno, comfortably warm. Kaki simply ran hot, in the same way Satoshi did. Maybe that's why they were 'rivals', something Goh wasn't sure he'd ever really understand.
Then again, maybe he didn’t really have to. Satoshi didn’t need another rival, Kaki was already doing a great job of that.
But Goh thought that perhaps he could do with another friend. Or at least, he hoped so.
--
They had bickered back and forth, in the friendly manner Goh found they so often did, over who would sleep on the floor and who would sleep on the couch bed. Satoshi insisted that Goh should take the couch since he was the guest, while Goh argued that he slept in Satoshi’s bed at his house in Kanto, so it was only fair that it was Satoshi’s turn to sleep on the closest thing to a bed in Alola.
After a heated but ultimately light hearted battle, Goh emerged victorious with the argument that he refused to sleep on the couch because being directly under the skylight would bother him. A blatant lie, but Satoshi either decided to take that as proof that Goh was serious, or didn’t notice. Either way, Goh found himself lying against the wooden floor with a futon and some spare sheets. It was admittedly quite comfortable.
That night, Goh had bid Satoshi a quick good night before passing out almost immediately, Rabbitfoot and Messon curled up with the blankets with him. The exhaustion of the travel, the new surroundings and social interaction had caught up with him all at once, and he promptly slipped into uneasy dreams. When his eyes blinked open, the light shining through the skylight was the soft starlight of night, much to his dismay.
Goh groaned quietly, trying not to wake Satoshi. He gently patted the blankets around him in an attempt to find his phone. He was tempted to just sit up and look for it, but that risked accidentally knocking over Rabbifoot, which was the last thing Goh wanted.
After a few attempts resulting in nothing but a handful of pillows, Goh finally managed to retrieve it. The screen was cool to the touch as Goh unlocked it.
Digital numbers reflected back at him. It was early, too early to be awake. At least for Goh’s tastes. Beneath the numbers was a small line of text.
“Sunrise in twenty minutes.” He read to himself, voice so quiet it was closer to mouthing them.
Sunrise, huh? That sounded pretty nice. And it wasn’t like he had anything better to do.
So minding the sleeping pokemon and sleeping Satoshi, Goh slipped out from under the blankets, tiptoeing across the wooden floor and without bothering to put on his shoes, wandered out of the house.
The sand was squishy beneath his feet, yet dry. It hadn’t rained last night. Without the sun's warmth, the ground was cool beneath him.
The ocean was quiet, as still as something as alive as it could be. The growing light trickled across its surface in flowing patterns, colours and shades that shifted imperceptibly. The water stretched out endlessly in front of him, incomprehensibly vast. The water breathed steadily, the tiny waves greeting the shoreline in a taunt, being pulled away just as fast.
Goh let his eyes drift upwards. Cloudy, not enough to block out the sky, but enough to make shapes out of. The stars had already faded out of view by then, a disappointment.
He let his feet guide him as he walked without looking where he was going. He stumbled for a moment, foot slipping into a small hole. Goh attempted to catch his balance but ultimately tipped over, ending up having fallen on his back.
He could see the sky better this way, watching the stream of pink begin to flood the horizon.
It was calming, the gentle breeze, the rush of the waves, the motion of it all. It was though the very island itself was breathing deeply, slowly, alive.
Goh closed his eyes for a moment, breathing in, trying to match the breaths of the island. He was here. Here was nice.
His attention was caught by the sound of flapping wings in the distance, breaking his concentration.
His eyes snapped open, scanning the skies for the sign of a flying pokemon. Fruitless, considering he hadn’t brought anything to catch them with, he realized a few moments later. Still, he kept looking, past the clouds, against the sky slowly growing in its pink hue.
There, between a cloud that looked vaguely like a Denjimushi and one that looked like an Amamaiko on it’s side. A Lizardon, no- someone was riding a Lizardon.
They were surprisingly close actually, and at an odd angle. Goh would’ve expected them to face the direction they were flying, but instead it almost appeared that Lizardon was staring directly at him.
Hold on. Goh blinked, his eyes tricking him into thinking Lizardon was growing bigger.
No. Not bigger. Closer. And closer. And closer.
And before Goh had fully gotten it through his head, a strong gust of wind sent sand scattering into his face as Lizardon and it’s rider landed on the sand beside him.
“Augh!”
Goh sat up spluttering, trying to get the sand out of his mouth. One hand propped him up, the other being used to try and swipe the sand away from his face.
“Ehh, what was that for?!” He asked, still brushing sand away from his eyes, unable to see who he was speaking to.
“Ahh, sorry! I didn’t realize how much sand we would kick up. Are you alright?”
Goh instantly recognized the voice. Being mindful of stray sand particles, Goh blinked his eyes open to a familiar sight. For the second time in twenty-four hours, Kaki was standing above him, offering a helping hand.
Goh accepted it, gentler this time, either out of embarrassment or reluctant acceptance.
“I’m fine, I’m fine,” Goh replied as he stood.
Kaki breathed a visible sigh of relief.
“Oh, good. I saw you lying on the beach so I had Lizardon fly down here, but it seems I only made things worse.”
Goh shook his head.
“It’s not a problem, really.”
Kaki nodded, though he didn’t quite seem to believe Goh.
“What are you doing out here this early then?”
Straight to the point.
Goh shifted slightly.
“Well, I could ask you the same thing,” He replied defensively.
Kaki raised an eyebrow.
“I’m doing deliveries for my family’s farm. I do them every morning.”
He gestured back towards Lizardon, holding the aforementioned cargo.
Goh kicked at the sand a bit with his heel.
“Ah. Sorry. I- I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to come watch the sun rise.”
Kaki nodded, turning to face the ocean. The waves lapped up at the edge of the beach, rushing away just as fast, taunting the shoreline.
“It really is beautiful, isn’t it?”
Goh nodded, breath catching in his throat just a tad at the sight of the sun spilling onto the horizon.
“Listen,” Kaki began, “I’m sorry I scared you with dynamic full flame yesterday.”
He offered a gentle smile, turning to meet Goh’s eye.
“I-I wasn’t scared!” Goh stuttered as he looked away.
“Sure.”
Still looking out at the ocean, Goh responded tentatively, letting the words sit on his tongue for a moment beforehand.
“So… you don’t hate me. Right?”
Kaki looked genuinely bewildered.
“What? Of course not.”
Goh nodded, shoulders relaxing.
“Good, I’m glad.”
Kaki shook his head.
“I never meant to scare you. Intimidate a little, maybe, but more…” He trailed off, seemingly frustrated as he stumbled to find the right words.
Goh sighed, the sun’s soft light bouncing off the water and shining across his face.
“I think I get it, kind of? Like… you wanted to protect him, right?”
Kaki nodded, evidently relieved.
“Satoshi’s important to me- to us. All of us-“
“Care about him a lot.” Goh finished.
“Yeah.”
Goh smiled just slightly, crossing his arms over his chest.
“So. It was a test, right?”
Kaki looked taken aback, though he quickly covered the surprise on his face.
“Yeah, something like that.”
Goh’s smile grew.
“How’d I do then? Did I pass?”
His tone was lighthearted, clearly having fun joking with Kaki. As soon as Kaki registered this, he relaxed in kind.
“Yeah, yeah, you passed. Flying colours and all that.”
Goh raised an eyebrow.
“Oh? How so?”
Kaki rolled his eyes, but there was something soft about the motion.
“You stood your ground, even when you were outmatched. You stood for your ideals, you made it clear you were willing to work hard. I admire that in a person. Ambition, dedication, drive.”
Goh hadn’t been expecting a proper response, but nonetheless listened intently to Kaki’s words.
“Not to mention your little outburst there. I mean, I don’t take too kindly to the implication that Satoshi isn’t my friend, but the rest of it had heart. More importantly, all that stuff you said, about dreams being within your own power and all. It just reminded me of him. You looked a lot like Satoshi.”
Goh tilted his head to the side.
“Looked like Satoshi…?”
Despite the rest of Kaki’s face staying the same as before, something in his eyes gave Goh the distinct feeling he was being laughed at.
“Listen, Satoshi’s my rival and my friend. We can be both. He’s my friend along with all our other classmates, because of all the things we’ve done together. He’s fun to be around, I’m sure you know that by now.”
Goh nodded, unsure of where this was going.
“But he’s my rival too. A strong fighter- strongest in Alola if you ask some people, someone I truly have to work hard to fight against. It’s an exhilarating feeling, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
Kaki paused, looking Goh up and down.
“But you… you don’t have that. And I don’t think you need to either.”
Kaki met Goh’s eyes directly as he spoke, though Goh got the feeling that he was looking further than that, speaking to something deeper inside him.
“I see how you look at each other, how you act around each other. It’s different, and I think it’s good too. Don’t go proving me wrong, alright? He cares about you, and you better not screw it up.”
Though his expression was stern, that of someone emotionless, Goh could feel the emotions that sat behind those words as if they were tangibly in front of him.
Goh cleared his throat, trying to hide his surprise at what Kaki had just said.
“I know, I won’t. Satoshi hasn’t told me everything about his time here, but if there’s one thing he made clear, it was how much he loves you all, and how much you all love him.”
“Yeah. Satoshi means a lot to all of us.” Kaki said, stone faced. However, to Goh’s surprise, a smirk spread across his face. “Though, not in the way he means to you.”
Goh felt the blood rush to his cheeks and quickly attempted to cover for himself.
“W-wh-what’s that supposed to mean!?”
Kaki laughed, reaching a hand to playfully slap Goh’s back.
“That’s not my place to say. You’ll figure it out soon enough, I’m sure.”
Goh glared.
“How is that of any help?!”
The grin on Kaki’s face persisted.
“Who said it was supposed to be?”
Deciding that was apparently enough explanation, Kaki walked across the sand, returning to Lizardon’s side as he waved goodbye.
“I’ve gotta get going, can’t let the deliveries be late!”
He called, climbing up onto Lizardon’s back. Goh waved back, though Kaki’s words were still bubbling in his brain.
“Don’t forget what you promised!”
And Kaki flew off past the clouds before Goh could even respond.
Promises, promises, he’d been making a lot of them recently, and all of the same nature. The question was if they would hold weight. And what on earth had Kaki meant by all that?
Taking a deep breath, Goh took in the smell of the ocean, the sand, the Alolan breeze. And then, he shook himself violently, sending tiny specks of sand scattering across the beach.
Enough thinking about all this for now, he decided. With confident strides, Goh headed up the beach to wake Satoshi so they could inevitably argue over what they would eat for breakfast, and soon enough, fly home again.

@fcrmula sent : ╱ botanical headcanons.
carnation : what is your muse’s relationship with their gender ?? how do they express or not express this relationship ??
satoshi is a trans man. for the most part, he doesn’t think about it at all. it’s only when other people bring gender related topics up, or when he has nothing pokémon related to focus on, that he even in passing thinks of it. had it not been for masara’s schools often splitting children into boy groups & girl groups, satoshi likely wouldn’t have thought about his gender enough to realize he’s trans until he’d already started his pokémon journey. as it stood, though, satoshi simply felt more connected to boyhood in a way a girl’s tomboyishness just didn’t fit with, understood he didn’t feel like he belonged bunched in with the girls of his class, & went from there.
there’s really only one aspect to his current relationship with his gender & that’s the need for autonomy, in that he needs everything about himself to be his decision & to be sure that it’s his decision, especially so if it’s regarding his appearance & how others perceive him. he’ll sometimes let his hair grow out more only to cut it right back to its usual length if anyone mentions it in a positive light, just because he overthinks if maybe they somehow influenced him growing it out. he’ll put on a skirt or dress if there’s nothing else to wear & feel just fine, but scramble to find a pair of shorts or jeans the moment anyone compliments how he looks because suddenly it feels wrong on him, even when he’d never think twice about another guy wearing a skirt. he’d already socially & legally transitioned by the time he could head off on his journey, even if he’s been slow with even beginning his medical transition, so he’s always been comfortable skating around on the common assumption that he’s a cis guy with an unfortunate case of babyface, only mentioning his transness if it’s been relevant, which has not been often. because he hasn’t talked about it beyond mentions in passing or when he got top surgery, he still hasn’t gotten to the point where he’s comfortable being perceived as, for the lack of a better word, girly, so sometimes he overcompensates in the performative masculinity department.
lavender : how easy is it to gain your muse’s trust ?? once their trust is broken, how might one go about mending it ??
if you're a pokémon, congratulations, you have satoshi’s unconditional trust no matter what you do. if you’re a human, there’s a few factors at play. he primarily bases trust on how comfortable surrounding pokémon seem, how relaxed, how much the pokémon seem to trust the person, taking cues from them & treating the person accordingly. next, he takes into consideration their profession. only fellow trainers, be they battlers or elites or brains or champions, come anywhere close to being able to acquire satoshi’s unconditional trust. professors he trusts based on how much professor ookido & professor kukui trust them, divided by how interested they are in what satoshi has been involved in. ceos he does not trust outright, though he can pretend. gang members need only seem genuine enough in their plea for whatever assistance they want for satoshi to give a fair amount of trust.
depending on the way his trust is breached, fixing it may be as simple as an apology & promise to either fix what the betrayal caused or to never do a similar thing again. fool him once, shame on you ; fool him 27 times, shame on you still for taking advantage of his forgiving nature but he’ll still give you a 50th chance when it comes to that. if the trust was breached by causing harm to another person or a pokémon, or by taking advantage of satoshi in any aspect towards causing harm, there is no coming back from that. his trust is either as easy to mend as a scratch with a band-aid or as impossible as glass shattered into millions of pieces, no in-between.
oak : who would your muse consider the strongest person they know ??

Seeing a lot of professor slander on my dash, so you have any professors you don’t get along with? 👀
Less than you would think, probably! Despite my, ah... confrontational nature, I get along with most of the other professors I've met fairly well.
I mean, I can certainly hop on the train right now and say that Oak and I don't get along. He's irresponsible and old-fashioned and thinks his kind of research is the only kind that matters. Tends to belittle and condescend research he doesn't personally understand rather than actually attempt to learn. Just generally rubs me the wrong way! I don't tend to attend a lot of events in Kanto because I'd rather avoid causing a scene with him, and if he's at the same events I'm at I just avoid him.
Other than Oak, the other professors and myself get along pretty well! They're much more open to other areas of research and it's fun to occasionally hang out and chat. Professor Birch is a good friend and helped me out when I was first starting as a professor myself, he's definitely responsible for quite a bit of my love for being out in the field getting my own hands dirty and getting into the thick of it. And I always look forward to when I can go to Alola and see Professor Kukui- great guy, super friendly, fun to have a good battle with.
I suppose Professor Magnolia and I don't always see eye to eye- but that has less to do with the work and more to do with how she treats Sonia sometimes. She was something of a mentor for me when I was younger, but we often butted heads, so that was short lived.
Ironically, another Professor Laurel is my aunt- Professor Lyla Laurel. She's the one who set me on this path, I also mentioned her before as being the one who gave me Cloudhopper as a Dratini. She's a Dragon type expert, currently working out of Unova, and her and I get along great, it goes without saying.
Sorry if there's not as much drama there as you would've wanted- for the most part we all get along great! And I prefer to avoid people I don't like rather than see them, so confrontations are pretty rare unless someone goes out of their way to make a scene with me.
#pokemon#professor laurel#arthur rambles#asked and answered#im petty I loved seeing Oak slander on my dash#in reference to seeing Professor Peach speak on him earlier- I'm assuming you're coming from her blog#she's 100% right with him#Magnolia is more personal drama than it is anything to do with work#and other than that I don't have much issue with any other professors#I do think some should retire soon...#or maybe I just want more colleagues closer to my age haha

Hey! I remember a while back I read a fanfic of yours regarding twilight wings- the unofficial Raihan episode. In it their was an oc of yours, and I was wondering if you have any more? I like making oc's myself and it's fun to see other people's ideas and stories.
Hi there! You have...opened the floodgates (in a good way). I have quite a few champion OCs. I’ll focus on the various champion OCs I have since I’ve mentioned this on my blog before the champions of Pokemon remain my favorite class of characters as they have so much potential as we’ve seen with Leon in SwSh. This is going to be a somewhat long post as I have 5 champions to talk about (plus there are pics here, most of them commissions from some very talented artists that I’ve tagged as I can’t draw)
(There’s Marsha and her starter/ace Rosemary the Audino with @hayleyb100 ‘s character Richard. Thank you HayleyB for drawing this! And if you guys haven’t please check out her amazing art and stories)
I’ll start off with the OC you mentioned in your ask...Marsha (full name Marsha Miller). She’s the Alolan champion that we see in my Conviction, the Raihan twilight wings episode (also shameless plug for my fic). Like many champions she’s a mixed type trainer, but she does have a slight preference for fairy types on her team. Unlike the SM/USUM protagonist, she actually hails from Unova but her family is military (her father used to serve under Lt. Surge before becoming a lieutenant himself) and so she’s lived in Unova, Kanto, and Alola. Before she ended up becoming Alola’s champion, she was content with being head of the cheer squad at her high school while in Kanto (before her family announced moving again and she was needless to say, quite upset at the prospect of throwing away her cheer captain title). Back when she lived in Unova, she would often stop by her grandparents herbalist shop to learn about various medicinal herbs.
I hint to this a bit in my Convictions fic when Marsha asks Raihan a question about him becoming champion elsewhere, but Marsha has a huge bout of imposter syndrome from being the first ever champion of Alola as she doesn’t feel like she measures up to the legends like Red or Blue or known superstar champions like Leon and Cynthia. A lot of her character growth comes after she wins the title as she learns to work with Kukui to help build up the Alola League and make it famous. Luckily she happens to be a pretty friendly, if somewhat reserved character making it easy for her to befriend the likes of Leon and Raihan (and she also gets them to be a couple). Both Leon and Raihan give her tips they’ve learned from being in Galar to help boost the reputation of the Alola League. Back in Alola she is good friends with Mallow, Plumeria and Mina as they often visit Mallow’s restaurant to eat and catch up. She ends up being a big sister friend to Gladion, Lillie and Hau (being in her late teens when she first met the kids) as well as Iris when she meets her at the champion’s conference.
(Credit to @roseltheteacup for this amazing sugimori style artpiece of Calla. Please check out rosel’s artwork as well)
The next one is my probably my most well-developed champion OC and my version of Victor/Gloria...Calla Okoro. She’s the Sword Hero of Galar to go with Hop’s Shield Hero. Calla is a baby genius with an IQ of 162 (so she’d qualify for MENSA in the real world) and graduated college at the age of 12 with a degree in chemistry, a year before she ends up taking on the gym challenge. Her favorite type is poison and she decided that she would take on the gym challenge by using only Poison types, refusing a starter from Leon to train up her Budew and other poison types she found along the way.
Her knowledge of poison types would become very useful towards the end of the challenge and Eternatus awakening and possessing Leon , however this girl struggled so much at the beginning as the poison types she caught don’t really get good until they evolve. It was also a testament to having book knowledge of Pokemon and type advantages doesn’t equate to automatically winning a battle. She struggled especially at Kabu’s gym, resulting in her first official loss (outside of losing her second battle to Hop at Magnolia’s house due to his Rookidee being super effective against her Budew nicknamed Sabi). Calla is persistent though and patient so she worked with her team developing a killer toxic stall strategy (that helped her be the first person to take Leon down). As champion Calla uses her position to promote science and eventually goes back to school to get PhD, becoming the first Galar champion to also be a professor. When Calla is not doing Pokemon battles or giving science demos, she tends to enjoy doing backflip competitions with Gordie or rocking out at Piers’ concerts with Marnie and Hop and Bede (Bede will deny hanging out with them)
(thank you RPG Picrew, I have yet to get official commissioned work of him done)
This is Jabari Revere, my Kalos champion OC and part of the Kalos 5. I’m still working on his backstory and personality as I replay Pokemon Y (I tend to replay the games for my champion OCs to build up their teams and get a sense for the personality). Jabari is a water type champion who enjoys his days swimming in the ocean and surfing on his Mantine, nicknamed Monterey. Like Serena from the anime he is a bit at odds with his mother Grace for wanting him to take up the family tradiiton of Rhyhorn racing. However unlike anipoke!Serena, he did have a goal of training water type Pokemon with the aim of becoming a water type champion just like Wallace from Hoenn. Jabari is definitely an easy going fellow, which helps him befriend Serena, Tierno, Trevor and Shauna as well as Grant and Clemont. Unlike my Galar champion Calla, he is more willing to use Pokemon other than water types, such as when he fought Korrina at the Mega Evolution tower using the Lucario who was attracted to his aura, or when he rescued Yveltal from Team flare and let it get revenge on Lysandre
(this piece was done by @snowythesoft aka ChibiGirl! Thank you again for this and also please check out her art as well)
Yes, you’re looking at a robot. His name is Valen and is actually my first non-self insert Pokemon OC. After watching the first Pokemon movie and seeing Mewtwo be a Pokemon trainer, and also after watching the Watson computer on Jeopardy, I came up with the idea of “what if someone made a robot as a Pokemon trainer”. Hence Valen, the world champion of my version of the Pokemon World
Created by Molayne and Sophocles at the request of Red and Blue as a new fixture for the battle tree, Valen quickly began to learn from the some of the strongest trainers how to battle (with a frequent opponent being Marsha as she needed someone who could challenge her in battle). Once he figured out how to consistently beat the likes of Red, Blue and Marsha in battle...it was a wrap. Valen travelled to every known region and soon became the undisputed most powerful trainer in the world defeating every last living champion. He even took on Leon, Cynthia and Red in a triple battle and won. Despite his absolutely monstrous skill Valen is an absolute sweetheart and always compliments his opponents in battle. He also loves bowties, with his first gift being the red bowtie he sports from Sophocles do not touch or harm that bowtie if you value your life, it’s one of the few things that will actually piss off this gentle giant of a robot.
(credits to the VillainSona Picrew)
So this is my final non-self insert champion OC, His Royal Highness Jack, Duke of Stow-On-Side. In a discord server and on some messages here on tumblr, I’ve described Jack as the unholy combination of Caillou and Jack the Ripper. Jack hails from a disgraced family of aura guardians who learned that they could use their aura powers to create shadow Pokemon. 150 years prior to the main Sword and Shield story line his family managed to beat back the Hammerlocke Royal family (aka the great Raihan’s family) from Stow-On-Side and Ballonlea to claim the two towns for themselves. When Peony stepped down as champion Jack ended up taking the champion title. Now Jack is actually a legitimately powerful trainer without the need to shadowfy his Pokemon, but he does so anyway to ensure absolute control and to hopefully make his royal family the absolute rulers of Galar (his actions would years later inspire Sordward and Shieldbert, the Dukes of Motostoke). He even bribed gym leaders to be extra difficult on challengers he deemed to be a threat (so Leon, Raihan, Nessa and Sonia got hit hard with this).
Jack’s misdeeds are pretty vast. The reason why Sonia is so unconfident in her battling skills? Jack ambushed her in the wild area and destroyed her in a match while mocking her. Why does Leon have that perfect image as champion? He’s trying to build back the reputation the Galar league has after Jack nearly destroyed it’s rep on the world stage with his actions. Why are Leon and Sonia so insistent on you focusing on the gym challenge and leaving the problems to the adults? The adults during their gym challenge were either on Jack’s side or were actually useless against him and his shadow Pokemon. To quote my friends in an rp server I’m in “Jack is the absolute worst” So that’s all of the champion OCs I have. As I continue to write more fanfic will definitely see all of them pop up in various stories.
#pokemon champion#pokemon poc#pokemon OC#ask epic spheal#I love talking about my OCs so if you guys have any questions keep them coming#you have no idea how happy i was to see this question#I screamed at work in the breakroom and spent my lunch answering this lol

Some Kind of Curse - Chapter Two
The three walk in silence for a few moments. Governor Jameson is trying to think of a good way to start the conversation, and Steve is worried about his hat flying away too, so he takes it off his head and tucks it under his arm, mimicking his sister’s previous actions.
“I just wanted to start off again, by saying how sorry I am for your loss, Commanders. Your father was a great man, and I had the pleasure to know him personally. He death shocked us all; he loved this island so much and did such a great job protecting it.” Governor Jameson begins, which makes Steve and Kris’ heart rates pick up, like it does every time someone mentions their father’s murder. Every time, they can hear the gunshot that killed him, and it sends a shiver down their spines. It makes Kris feel nauseous when she thinks about it.
Steve clears his throat. “Thank you, Ma’am. But with all due respect, why are we here? Is this about the investigation into Hesse’s whereabouts?” he asks with a hint of annoyance to his voice. Steve was never really one to deal with politicians- he never has had the patience for them and their constant lies. Kris is the one who has an unlimited amount of patience, and has no problem dealing with politicians and higher-ups, so maybe, he thinks, he should let her deal with the governor. “Ma’am, we are forbidden to investigate this, I’m sure you understand why.” Kris cuts in before the Governor can reply to Steve. The governor cannot know that they are planning to catch Hesse. Hell, nobody can know, because Steve and Kris don’t want to take anyone else down with them when they inevitably get court martialed.
The governor nods. “I know. HPD is working non-stop to try and track down Hesse.” She tells the twins, hoping not to get them riled up.
Steve lets out a short puff of air. “No offence, Ma’am, but you aren’t going to catch Hesse with traffic stops and roadblocks. He is a terrorist wanted all over the world, it’s going to be nearly impossible to catch him.” Steve states, and stops in place. Kris does too. The governor notices and stops in front of them.
“I know, and that’s why I asked to meet with you two here today. Your father’s murder was a wake-up call to me and every law enforcement agency in Hawaii, which is why I’m putting together a special investigations taskforce… and I want you two to run it.” Governor Jameson explains, which reels Steve and Kris back a little bit.
Why the hell would she want them, out of all the people on the island, to run the taskforce? Doesn’t she know that they aren’t cops? They don’t really abide by civilian rules in the navy, so it would most likely be a mess the moment it started, Steve immediately thinks, scoffing quietly. “You don’t even know us.” He replies to the Governor.
She crosses her arms and tucks her hair behind her ears. “I know your resumes. Kristine McGarrett; the first female Navy SEAL, a double major in political sciences and operations research with minors in Japanese and Arabic. NCAA all-star for volleyball and Track at the Academy, sharing top of the class with her brother, Steven McGarrett, who double majored in military history and operations research with minors in Japanese and Arabic as well, and was an NCAA all-star in football and track. Five years naval intelligence, six years with the SEALs… your superiors say that you two are the best unit they have ever seen.” The governor justifies, which makes Kris chuckle a little bit. At least the governor came to their meeting prepared.
“That is correct, Ma’am. But we cannot risk everything to track down one man. If you’ll excuse us, we have to make arrangements for our father’s funeral now. Please excuse us.” Kris bluffs, then her and Steve put their caps back on and prepare to get as far away from the Governor as possible before she finds out their ulterior motive to coming back home. They manage to get a few steps away before the governor calls out after them.
“I can help you find this son of a bitch! With full immunity and means. And, you won’t face any disciplinary action from your superiors. Your taskforce will have blanket authority to go after guy like Hesse and get them the hell off of my island.” Governor Jameson offers, which makes the twins stop in their tracks. Steve and Kris look at each other briefly, and then turn to the Governor to hear her out once again. She walks towards them and stops a few feet in front of them before she speaks again. “Your rules, my backing, no red tape. And I promise both of you, what you see with me is what you get.” The governor offers. This taskforce would be the opportunity of a lifetime, But Steve and Kris both know that it would come with huge ramifications. Running the taskforce would mean no more Navy for them, which is something they aren’t sure they want to give up yet. A big decision and career change like this is something that needs to be well thought out and planned in advance, not made on a whim like this. Kris doesn’t really know how to politely say this to the governor, so she just stays silent, giving Steve the opportunity to act like a robot and hopefully get the governor to leave them be and Hunt down Hesse on their own.
Steve steps a little closer to the governor, getting kind of close to her face. “Here’s what I see. There’s an election coming up, and you’re looking to win again. What’s better than having two kids of a fallen cop be the faces of your election campaign as they avenge their father’s death and take down criminals on the island. Thanks, but we’ll pass.” Steve tells her off, scowling a little bit. Kris supresses a smile at her brother’s fake hostility towards the governor, but deep down, she knows he’s right in a way. Governor Jameson would get great PR for having an elite taskforce under her watch, but now is not the time for it. Steve and Kris need to hunt down Hesse and then get back to the Navy, where they can hopefully put Hawaii, the island that has caused them nothing but pain, behind them.
Governor Jameson nods in defeat. “okay. Well, at least think about it, please. Here’s my personal number, please don’t hesitate to call if you need anything while you two are here, or if you change your minds.” She offers and digs a card out of her coat pocket. She hands it to Steve, and then heads back to her security detail and gets back into her car. Once her car is out of sight, Kris turns to Steve.
“Thanks. I didn’t know what to say to her. I couldn’t bullshit my way out of that one, but you were on the nose with the profile you made for her.” Kris admits to her brother, patting him on the back. He smiles a bit and tucks the card into the inner pocket of his coat. Steve nods along.
“That’s a hell of an offer, though. I think it’s a good thing to fall back on if we need to. She could save our asses, that’s for sure. And hey, even if we do get stuck with running the taskforce here, I’m sure it wouldn’t be any different than us switching gears and going into another division in the Navy,” Steve suggests. Kris shrugs. Steve does have a point… if need be, they can hunker down and work here (legally) to take down Hesse once and for all if they need to.
“I just don’t know if I’m ready to give up the Navy yet…. But maybe we shouldn’t have turned her down. It is an amazing opportunity.” Kris admits, chuckling a little bit. Steve shrugs. “I dunno either, sis. I guess we just need to see how our own investigation goes first. And plus, a little change has never really hurt us.” He smiles, and claps his sister on the back gently, making sure he doesn’t aggravate her shoulder.
She smiles and points at him. “No, no. Don’t you forget about that time you signed up for that fucking posting on the enterprise so you could try and hook up with a certain someone… and then dragged me into that mess too. That was the worst six months of my life, and you didn’t even get any, you fool.” Kris jokes, jabbing a little bit at Steve, who was fresh out of the academy then, and so in love with a certain ensign named Catherine Rollins. But that’s a story for another time.
Steve grins and begins to walk back towards their loaner car so they can head to HPD and arrange the funeral for their father. Kris jogs to catch up with him and begins to talk about how amazing immunity and means would be for once, when someone calls out to them, making them turn to the voice that distracted them.
“She’s a smart lady that one!” A man in a teal polo and khaki shorts says to them from a far, which makes Steve and Kris walk towards him out of curiosity. Kris quickly recognizes him, as does Steve, but they can’t quite place who he is… it’s been so long since they have seen anyone from here, so it’s proving to be a little difficult to put a name to his face.
The mystery man grins and walks closer to them. “You better!” he says, still smiling. He stops in front of them and finally introduces himself. “Chin-Ho Kelly!” He announces, which immediately makes Kris and Steve smile. Chin-Ho Kelly was just a rookie for HPD when Kris last saw him. Chin-Ho was being trained by her father, and he attended every football game of Steve’s with Kris and her father, no matter what. If Kris can remember correctly, Chin was once a great football player too.
When chin says his name, Steve immediately knows who he is too. Chin-Ho was his dad’s last rookie, and one hell of a quarterback for Kukui High School back in the day. “Chin-Ho Kelly, Kukui High School!” Steve grins and shakes hands with Chin. “You were a great quarterback!” Steve jokes, already knowing what Chin’s reply is going to be. “That’s very kind of you to say, considering you were the one that broke all my records,” Chin winks at Steve, and then turns to Kris and smiles.
“So good to see you again, Chin. At least we can see one friendly face while were back here!” Kris says happily and shakes hands with Chin as well. Chin shares his condolences with the twins, and Chin offers to walk them over to their car. Thankfully, Steve is the first one to break the silence that overcomes them all rather quickly. “if I can remember correctly, you were our father’s rookie the last time we saw you. Looks like you’ve moved on to greener pastures now,” Steve says to Chin, which makes him chuckle a bit. Kris quickly recognizes that this is a bit of a sore spot for chin, just based on how he reacted to that statement.
“well, let’s just say that Honolulu PD and I had a disagreement over my job description.” Chin sighs.
“Sorry to hear that, Chin. Our father always spoke very highly of you.” Kris admits to Chin. It was true, though. John McGarrett loved his new rookie and saw that he had a lot of potential. He also knew that Chin was destined for great things, such as rising through the ranks of HPD, not working security at Pearl Harbour’s gift shop.
“Thank you. Your father understood. He was very good to me after I was let go. We went out for coffee once a week, usually, just to check in on one another. He was a good friend to me, and I know that cost him something…If only there was a way that I could pay him back for all that he has done for me.” Chin explains, and then stops in his tracks, and turns to look at the twins.
“but now that you two are here, maybe you can do something.” Chin begins.
Kris furrows her brows, trying to figure out what Chin means. Steve tilts his head and straight up asks him what he means. Chin sighs a little bit. “The chief of police put a haole on your father’s case. Word is he’s fresh off the mainland, only been here six months… which means he has no clue how this island works.” Chin tells them in confidence, of course.
This makes Kris’ mind run a mile a minute. Steve thanks him for the information, and continues talking to him, while Kris switches to autopilot for the duration of their walk, trying to understand what this could mean for them. If there’s a mainlander working on their father’s murder, then his case will never be solved, and Hesse will never really be caught. This is going to make Steve and Kris’s solo investigation really hard now, too, because they won’t have any information from HPD to help them too. Maybe they do need to take the governor’s offer and run the taskforce, just so they can have complete control over their father’s case and make sure Hesse is caught. Lord knows a haole fresh from the mainland won’t be able to do it, so they will have to.
Without even realizing it, Kris is back in the passenger seat of the car and buckled in as Steve pulls out of the parking lot of Pearl Harbour. Steve notices Kris’ snap back to reality and looks over at her. “what were you thinking about?” He asks as he merges back onto the highway so they can head to HPD and talk about their father’s funeral.
Kris takes off her hat and takes a deep breath. “I think we need to take the governors offer. The haole won’t be able to crack dad’s case… he was rooted to this island and respected by everyone. If any locals know anything about the case, they won’t be telling it to this new guy. Especially if he wears a suit and tie.” Kris explains to Steve, who is quite focused on the traffic in front of him. Steve grips the steering wheel tighter and looks over at Kris once he stops at a light.
“This is the only time I’m gonna ask this but are you sure about this? Like one hundred percent, we have to do this, this is the only way, sure?” Steve asks, now rubbing his chin in deep thought. Kris nods. “The haole is going to fuck us over. He’s either going to withhold information and do everything by the books or get ignored by everyone on the island. We’ll need that information that he might have.”
“And if we take the job running the taskforce, we will have jurisdiction, and be able to practically subpoena him for the information.” Steve finishes for Kris and continues to drive when the light turns green. Kris nods at him in reply.
“So, should we call the governor? How are we going to get this to work? Hesse is probably working on an escape plan, and we need to get everything sorted out with the Navy,” Kris begins to worry, but Steve just chuckles.
“I’m sure the governor can help us out. She wouldn’t want us to take down Hesse for her if she couldn’t get us to do it right away. Let’s lead her on for a little bit and go through with our original plan. Let’s go to the house tomorrow, and see where that takes us, okay?” Steve tells Kris before she blows up with worry. Kris never likes to go into things without a perfect plan, so she tends to get a little stressed out when things are improvised along the way. That’s why she’s the brains out of the twins, and Steve’s the brawn; Steve is ready to go into any situation, guns ablaze at any time, plan or no plan. Kris agrees to this, and then begins to mentally prepare for what they have to do at HPD to prepare for their father’s funeral. Their time at HPD won’t be pleasant, that’s for sure.
