As soon as your eyes flutter open, an unsettling sensation grips you. Despite the blinds being tightly drawn, an unusual brightness floods the room, casting an eerie glow on the walls. The familiar muffled sound of your neighbor’s TV, a constant background noise every morning, is conspicuously absent. This odd silence is jarring. Your heart races as you turn to glance at the clock, its digital display blinking erratically, showing a time far later than your usual wake-up. Panic sets in as you realize your alarm never went off, and you've overslept by a crucial half-hour.
With a string of curses, you stumble out of bed, your feet tangling in the sheets as you lurch toward the closet. Frantically, you grab the first outfit in sight. The button-down shirt you pull on is slightly wrinkled, and you tuck it into your pencil skirt with hurried, sloppy movements. You mutter under your breath, knowing that this disheveled look is a problem for the future you to handle.
Struggling with your pantyhose, you nearly topple over, muttering a string of curses. "Damn you, alarm clock, this is all your fault," you grumble, your voice tinged with frustration. Finally dressed, you sprint into the kitchen, where the unfamiliarity of your new space looms large. "Where are the cups?" you groan, flinging open cabinets and drawers in a frantic search. Each empty cabinet and misplaced item heightens your frustration, making your heart race even faster. After what feels like an eternity, you stumble upon a bowl and, with a resigned sigh, decide it will have to do for your much-needed coffee.
Tofu, your white, fluffy cat, watches you with an air of amused indifference. His emerald eyes follow your every move as you haphazardly brew coffee in the bowl. "Really, Tofu? Just going to sit there and judge me?" you mutter, glancing at him. He meanders over to his food bowl's usual spot, looking at you expectantly. "Great, even the cat knows this place better than I do," you sigh, shaking your head. You scoop out his food and place the bowl on the tray, giving him a quick pet. "Bye, Tofu. Be good," you say, but he merely flicks his tail and turns his back, more interested in his breakfast than your farewell.
Turning to the hallway mirror, you take a moment to compose yourself. You meticulously smooth down each unruly wisp of hair and straighten your blazer with unwavering attention to detail. The reflection staring back at you looks polished and composed, a stark contrast to the chaos of your morning. Satisfied, you grab your bag and dart out the door, mentally steeling yourself for the whirlwind of tasks and challenges that await.
As you arrive at the law firm, you navigate the bustling corridors, your mind already racing with the tasks you need to catch up on. The familiar hum of office chatter and the clatter of keyboards provide a strange sense of comfort amidst the morning's turmoil. You barely settle into your chair, your to-do list unfurling in your mind, when your boss's voice rings out, "We need you in the conference room for an urgent meeting."
You grab your coffee mug, now filled with the hastily brewed beverage, and head to the meeting. "So much for a moment to relax," you think, your shoulders tensing with the anticipation of another demanding day. As your colleagues file into the room, you steel yourself for the challenges ahead. Despite the morning's chaos, you know you have to keep pushing forward.
When you enter the room, you notice a familiar figure standing by the window, reviewing a stack of documents. A tall, handsome man with a dark navy suit and his hair swept back in a haphazard way – the kind of hairstyle that looks effortless, but everyone secretly knows is high maintenance. Your heart skips a beat as you recognize him— Joshua Hong, from law school. The years have been kind to him; he still has the same confident stance and sharp eyes.
You sit down in your usual seat, praying that your old-school rival doesn’t recognize you. Today out of all days – when you look disheveled and tired as all hell – he just had to appear. If you remember correctly, he works for a rival company and you spend several minutes wracking your brain for an answer as to why he is there. Your boss begins discussing the new, urgent case you are assigned to, but your attention is divided between the details of the case and the presence of Joshua. You feel a mix of surprise and irritation at seeing him again, memories of your intense rivalry flooding back.
Once the meeting ends, you’re hurriedly packing your things together to avoid Joshua – you know you wouldn’t be able to avoid him completely, but maybe you could buy yourself enough time to go to the bathroom and put yourself together. However, your plans are disrupted by your supervisor who comes walking over to you.
“Y/L/N, you were unusually quiet today,” he says with a furrowed brow. “Is anything the matter?”
Your supervisor is kind, and you feel truly fortunate to have him. However, his timing leaves much to be desired. As he calls your name, you notice Joshua's head snap in your direction, his eyes narrowing with interest. Maybe he had already seen you, but now he seizes the opportunity to approach. His confident stride carries him across the room, a faint smirk playing on his lips. He joins the two of you, thanking your supervisor for a good first meeting before turning his full attention to you.
“Y/N,” he says, his tone laced with a hint of amusement, his eyes gleaming. “It’s been a while.”
You force a smile, striving to keep your tone neutral. “Joshua. I didn’t expect to see you here,” you reply, noting how his presence seems to fill the room with an almost overbearing energy.
“I just transferred from my old company,” he replies, his voice carrying a familiar, competitive edge. His gaze locks onto yours, unyielding. “Looks like we’ll be working together.”
“Looks like it,” you respond, your heart pounding as you struggle to remain composed. “Welcome to the company, Joshua.” Your words feel stiff, formal, a shield against the flood of emotions his presence invokes.
As you leave the meeting, the cold, distant persona from your university days begins to surface. Memories of who you used to be, shaped by Joshua’s antics, flood back, making you cringe. You recall yourself as the harsh critic, the goody-two-shoes who somehow managed to be a vicious competitor, always driven to outperform everyone else. That fierce competitiveness got you through school, but now, in hindsight, you can’t believe how ruthless you were. The entire situation feels surreal, like a never-ending nightmare.
When you finally reach your office, you glance out the window, only to see Joshua talking to your supervisor again. The sight of him triggers a flood of unwanted memories. He notices you staring and waves playfully, a smug grin on his face. Quickly, you avert your gaze, wishing you could crawl back into bed and escape the reality of work.
The atmosphere in the office feels stifling as you try to focus on your tasks. The bustling environment, usually a source of motivation, now feels oppressive. The fluorescent lights cast a harsh glare, and the incessant hum of conversations around you becomes a dull roar in your ears. Your mind keeps drifting back to Joshua, and the uneasy feeling in your stomach grows.
As the day drags on, you find it increasingly difficult to concentrate. Every little sound seems amplified—the rustle of papers, the click of keyboards, the distant ring of phones. Your thoughts are a jumbled mess, and you can't shake the anxiety gnawing at you. When lunchtime finally arrives, you retreat to a quiet corner of the break room, seeking a moment of solace.
Sitting with your back against the wall, you close your eyes and take a deep breath, trying to center yourself. The familiar scent of coffee and the murmur of your colleagues’ conversations provide a small measure of comfort. You remind yourself that you’ve faced challenges before and emerged stronger. This time will be no different.
When you return to your desk, you catch sight of Joshua once more. He stands at the center of a group of coworkers, his animated gestures and infectious laughter commanding their attention. The sunlight streaming through the office windows catches the gleam of his watch and the crisp lines of his tailored suit, accentuating his charismatic presence. His eyes twinkle with that familiar confidence, and every so often, he glances around the room, as if he owns it.
You take a deep breath, feeling a knot of tension in your stomach. Steeling yourself, you remind yourself that his reappearance will not unsettle you. Squaring your shoulders, you walk with purpose to your desk, the clicking of your heels on the polished floor echoing your determination.
Settling into your chair, you take a moment to ground yourself. The familiar hum of the office envelops you, a steady rhythm that helps you regain your focus. You arrange your papers neatly, your fingers tracing the edges of each document, seeking comfort in the orderliness. The scent of fresh coffee from your mug mingles with the faint aroma of office supplies, creating an oddly soothing atmosphere.
With renewed resolve, you dive into your work, your fingers dancing over the keyboard with practiced efficiency. The tasks before you, once daunting, now seem manageable. You immerse yourself in the flow of productivity, your mind honing in on each detail, each challenge. The turbulent morning fades into the background, replaced by the clarity of purpose.
Just as you settle back into your workflow, you stand to retrieve a document from the printer. As you round the corner, you collide directly with Joshua, who is holding a stack of papers. His documents scatter across the floor, and for a brief moment, you lock eyes.
"Watch where you’re going," you say, trying to keep your voice steady.
Joshua bends down to gather his papers, a playful smirk tugging at his lips. "Looks like some things never change," he retorts. "Still as clumsy as ever, I see."
You kneel to help him, your fingers brushing against his as you both reach for the same document. A jolt of annoyance surges through you, mingled with an unwelcome spark of attraction. "And you're still as irritating as ever," you reply, your tone sharp.
He chuckles, the sound low and infuriatingly charming. "It's good to see you haven't lost your edge."
"Good to see you haven't lost your overconfidence," you snap back, handing him the last of his papers. "Just stay out of my way."
"Can't make any promises," he says, his eyes twinkling with that competitive spark. "But I'll try to be more careful around you."
You stand up, brushing off your skirt, and take a step back. Joshua stands up with you, looking at you expectantly. Some of his, otherwise perfectly slicked back, hair had fallen out of place over his forehead. "You do that," you say, turning on your heel and walking away.
The encounter leaves you simmering, but also oddly invigorated. The rivalry that once pushed you to your limits in university now fuels your determination, and the undercurrent of attraction only adds to the tension.
Returning to your desk, you feel a renewed sense of focus. Despite the lingering presence of Joshua in the back of your mind, you remind yourself that you’re capable and resilient. Each completed task, each problem solved, reinforces your confidence. You glance up occasionally, noting the bustle of the office around you, a testament to the day marching on.
Later that evening, you meet up with your friend Nari at your favorite bar. The warm ambiance and the hum of conversations provide a comforting backdrop as you both settle into a booth with your drinks. It’s just what you need after your chaotic day at work, and you let yourself fully relax – something that your friend seems to be unable to do. Nari sips her cocktail and sighs deeply, clearly exasperated.
“Another bad date?” you ask, already knowing the answer.
“Yeah,” Nari groans. “I don’t know why I even bother with these dating apps anymore. They never seem to work out.”
You nod sympathetically. Nari’s dating woes are a frequent topic of conversation, almost to the point where you have a script of what to say. “Maybe you need to take a break from them.”
“What am I doing wrong, Y/N?” she exclaims with a pout.
“You’re not doing anything wrong,” you correct her. “None of these guys you’re seeing can reach up to your standards, that’s all.”
Nari swirls her drink thoughtfully. “I just can’t get that one guy out of my head. Do you remember the one I met at the bar a few years ago? We had this amazing conversation all night, but I never got his number.”
You scoff playfully, rolling your eyes. “You're such a romantic, Nari. Holding out hope for some guy you met once.”
“You don’t understand! We talked for hours, at some point I thought I'd never go home– and I was fine with it! I think we talked about Billy Elliot for, like, an hour. We both had been crying through it as kids, apparently,” she explains. “It felt like I had met a soulmate... not just because of that, of course, but we were so alike in everything we talked about! I’ve never met anyone like that.”
“This is why I can’t do what you do,” you say. “I can’t do romance, I’d just end up disappointed.”
Nari laughs and leans in closer, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Speaking of romance, what about you and Joshua? Seems like you two have a lot of unresolved tension.”
You nearly choke on your drink. “Joshua? No way. He’s just... ugh, he’s always been a pain. And now I’ll have to deal with him again. I thought I was done with him after uni.”
“Uh-huh,” Nari teases, raising an eyebrow. “A handsome, successful pain who you just can’t stop thinking about.”
You shake your head in an attempt to drown out her claims, but you can’t deny that Joshua has been occupying your thoughts since you saw him earlier. Despite feeling annoyed by his presence, you find yourself strangely intrigued by the possibilities. It’s strange how someone you despised could still ignite a sense of motivation within you.
“Do you know why he transferred?” Nari asks, bringing you out of your thoughts.
“Not at all,” you admit. “I thought he was pretty much in love with his old company– that’s what it sounded like in school, at least.”
“I have a memory of you complaining about that, yeah.” She nods and sips on her drink before she gets an idea that almost makes her jump out of her seat. “If you’re going to start complaining about Joshua now, I think I’m allowed to talk about my almost-soulmate! We should take turns!”
“Why are you so excited about that?” You laugh at her eccentric behavior.
“Because now I finally have something to hold over your head!” she exclaims and the two of you laugh together.
After finishing your drinks, you and Nari leave the bar, bickering lightheartedly about your love lives before you head your separate ways. Walking home, the cool night air does little to clear your head. Your thoughts drift back to Joshua and the memories of your law school days. You remember the heated debates, the competitive spirit, and most vividly, the times you compared test scores after the particularly grueling exams. Everything you did, in the end, you did to beat Joshua. It’s part of the reason you ended up at the top of your class, you’re sure of it.
As you unlock your door and step into your apartment, your cat greets you with a soft meow. You sigh, kicking off your shoes and recounting the day’s events to your furry friend. “Can you believe it, Tofu? Joshua Hong, of all people.”
Your cat blinks at you, unimpressed by your human drama. Shaking your head, you head to the bathroom to get ready for bed. After feeding Tofu, you walk into your bathroom to do your skincare. As you brush your teeth, you catch your reflection in the mirror, thinking about Joshua’s smirk and the way he still knows how to get under your skin. You shiver at the thought, quickly spitting out the toothpaste in your sink before going into your bedroom.
Finally, you crawl into bed, setting your alarm with extra care this time.
“Not going to be late again,” you mutter to yourself, determined to face whatever challenges tomorrow brings, including Joshua. As you drift off to sleep, your dreams are filled with memories of past rivalries and the confusing mix of emotions that come with seeing Joshua again.
The next day, you walk into the office determined to focus on your work and ignore Joshua. However, that plan quickly falls apart. As soon as you start reviewing the case files, Joshua walks up behind you in the meeting room. He looks over your shoulder, at the notes you have on your computer, and points out a section you had just written.
“Are you sure you want to approach the case like this?” he asks, pointing to your notes. “I think your argument here is a bit weak.”
You glare at him, refusing to back down. “I’m confident in my approach, Joshua. Maybe you should focus on your work instead of nitpicking mine.”
He smirks, raising an eyebrow. “Just trying to help. Wouldn’t want you to get left behind.”
From that moment, the rivalry that had simmered since law school reignites with full force. Every interaction becomes a contest of who can outdo the other, with you both constantly trying to prove your superiority. Meetings turn into battlegrounds of sharp words and pointed comments, neither of you willing to concede any ground.
Weeks pass, and your frustration with Joshua grows. You vent to Nari over lunch, recounting the latest clash with your rival.
“He just gets under my skin,” you fume, stabbing at your salad. “He questions everything I do, and it’s driving me crazy.”
Nari listens patiently, a knowing smile on her face. “You know, all this bickering sounds like something else to me.”
You look at her, puzzled. “What do you mean?”
“I mean,” Nari says, leaning in, “as I said before, it sounds like you two have a lot of unresolved tension. To me, all of your stories sound like he’s flirting with you. Maybe you should just ask him out and get it over with.”
You blink in surprise, caught off guard by the suggestion. “Ask him out? Joshua? Are you kidding?”
“Think about it,” Nari insists. “You guys are already close, and there’s clearly something there. It might be worth exploring.”
You shake your head, but Nari’s words linger in your mind. The idea seems absurd, yet the more you think about it, the more you wonder if there might be some truth to what she’s saying. It’s not like your love life can get any worse—it’s practically non-existent. Being with someone you know, someone who’s as passionate about work as you are might be a good thing. Maybe there is something beneath all the rivalry and tension that’s worth exploring.
Over the next few days, Nari’s words echo in your mind. The more you think about it, the more you realize there might be some truth to her suggestion. Joshua is good-looking and undeniably talented, and your interactions, while contentious, are always charged with a certain energy. You start to wonder if, beneath all that rivalry, there might be something more. And even if there wasn’t, maybe there could be something – you had been on your own for a while, it was time to find someone.
Finally, you decide to take Nari’s advice. You can’t deny that Joshua has been occupying your thoughts more than usual, and maybe it’s time to confront this situation head-on. After all, what’s the worst that could happen?
The case your team has been working on finally comes to a close, and you all decide to celebrate with a night out at a nearby bar. As the drinks flow, your usual restraint begins to wane, and you find yourself getting more and more intoxicated.
Encouraged by the alcohol and a sudden surge of confidence, you decide to go for it. You approach Joshua, your heart pounding in your chest. He’s standing by the wall, watching all of your coworkers play a game of mafia loudly. He managed to lose in the first round, and you followed shortly after—on purpose, to be alone with him.
“Joshua,” you slur slightly, trying to steady yourself. “I need to tell you something.”
He looks at you curiously, tilting his head. “What is it, Y/N?”
Taking a deep breath, you muster all your courage. “I’ve been thinking about it, and I think there’s something between us. Do you... want to go out with me?”
For a moment, there’s silence. Then Joshua sighs, a look of regret and guilt crossing his face. “Y/N, I... I have a girlfriend.”
Your heart sinks, the embarrassment hitting you like a sobering wave. “Oh,” you manage to say, your voice small. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”
“It’s okay,” he says gently. “I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong impression.”
You nod, forcing a smile. “No, it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have... I’m just gonna go.”
Even when he’s rejecting you, he’s perfect. Without waiting for a response, you turn and make your way outside, your vision blurring with unshed tears.
You find yourself sitting on the curb, the cool night air doing little to calm the storm of emotions swirling inside you. Through blurred vision, you order a cab on your phone. As you wait for your cab, your phone rings. It’s Nari.
“Hey, guess what!” she exclaims, her excitement palpable even through the phone, and she doesn’t even give you time to answer before she continues, “I found him! The guy from the bar all that time ago. We’re going out for fast food right now! His name is Vernon– can you believe how sweet that is?”
You force yourself to sound happy for her, even though your heart feels like it’s breaking. “That’s amazing, Nari. I’m happy for you.”
“Thanks, Y/N. I gotta go, but we’ll talk soon, okay? I’ll give you all the details later,” she whispers out the last part as if she’s scared to get caught.
“Sure,” you say, barely managing to keep your voice steady. “Have fun.”
As the call ends, you finally allow the tears to fall. The cab arrives, and you climb in, trying to hold back the sobs that threaten to escape. The driver doesn’t say anything as you give your address, and you spend the ride home in silence, the events of the night playing over and over in your mind.
When you finally get home, you collapse onto your bed, the weight of your unrequited feelings pressing down on you. Despite your best efforts, you can’t stop the tears that come, and you cry yourself to sleep, the heartbreak feeling all too real.
The next morning, you drag yourself to work, the events of the previous night still weighing heavily on your mind. The thought of facing Joshua again is too much to bear, so you decide to take action. After some deliberation, you gather your courage and head to your boss’s office.
“Come in,” your boss says as you knock on the door. You step inside, closing the door behind you.
“Good morning,” you greet, trying to keep your voice steady. “I wanted to discuss something important.”
Your boss looks up from his paperwork, giving you his full attention. “Of course, Y/N. What’s on your mind?”
Taking a deep breath, you say, “I’d like to request a transfer to a different department.”
Your boss raises an eyebrow. “A transfer? This is sudden. Is everything alright?”
You hesitate, choosing your words carefully. “I just think a change of scenery would be beneficial for me right now. Personal reasons, mostly.”
He studies you for a moment before nodding. “Well, it’s interesting you bring this up. You were due for a promotion. I was planning to discuss it with you later this week. If you’re looking for a change, we can consider promoting you to a different department.”
Surprise and relief wash over you. “Really? That would be... perfect.”
“Great. Let me work out the details, and I’ll get back to you by the end of the week,” he says, offering a reassuring smile.
“Thank you,” you reply, genuinely grateful.
For the rest of the week, you make a conscious effort to avoid Joshua. You adjust your schedule to minimize any potential interactions, keeping your head down and focusing on your work. Whenever you catch a glimpse of him in the hallway or the break room, you quickly divert your path, hoping to remain unnoticed.
The days crawl by, but finally, your boss calls you into his office again. “Y/L/N, I have some good news. We’ve finalized your promotion. Starting next week, you’ll be moving to the Corporate Law Department as a Senior Associate.”
A wave of relief floods over you. “Thank you so much. I appreciate the opportunity.”
“Congratulations, Y/N. I have no doubt you’ll excel in your new role.”
As you leave his office, you can’t help but feel a mix of emotions. Relief at the promotion and the prospect of a fresh start, but also a lingering sadness at how things turned out with Joshua. You throw yourself into your new role, working hard to establish yourself and make the most of the opportunity.
Months go by, and you successfully manage to avoid Joshua. Your new position keeps you busy, and the physical distance between departments helps. Slowly, you begin to find your footing again, the sting of rejection fading with time.
While the rivalry with Joshua may be behind you, the memory of it lingers, a reminder of the complicated dynamics that can exist between two people. But for now, you focus on moving forward, determined to make the most of your career and whatever comes next.

It’s late spring, and Nari is practically glowing with happiness. She and her new boyfriend, Vernon, have been dating for a few months now, and they’ve just decided to take their first trip together. Over one of your weekly lunches, Nari excitedly tells you about the trip.
“Guess what?” Nari exclaims, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
“What’s up?” you ask, smiling at her enthusiasm – it was always nice to see her being so positive, something that’s happened more and more recently.
“Vernon’s friend invited us to stay at his summer house for a few days! It’s going to be amazing – a beautiful lake, lots of relaxation, and just what we need,” she gushes.
“That sounds fantastic,” you reply, genuinely happy for her.
Nari leans in a bit closer. “There’s more. Vernon’s friend said I could invite someone, and I want you to come with us.”
You’re taken aback. “Me? Are you sure? It’s your first vacation together, Nari. I don’t want to intrude.”
Nari shakes her head vigorously. “No, no, it’s not like that. I’ll be honest, I need you there. This is a big step for me and Vernon, and having you there would be a huge support. Plus, Vernon’s friend is single, and you never know…”
You laugh and shake your head. “I’m not going for a romantic setup, Nari. But if you need me there, I’ll come.”
Nari beams at you, relief evident on her face. “Thank you, Y/N. It means a lot to me.”
A week later, you find yourself nestled comfortably in the backseat of Vernon’s car. The gentle hum of the engine and the rhythmic swaying of the vehicle create a soothing backdrop as Nari and Vernon engage in lively conversation up front. The bustling cityscape slowly fades away, giving way to a more serene and picturesque countryside. Verdant fields extend endlessly on either side of the road, their lush green expanse interspersed with vibrant wildflowers that flutter playfully in the breeze. As the car's tires glide smoothly over the pavement, you watch the world outside morph into a stunning pastoral scene, the tranquil rhythm of the journey calming your senses.
When Vernon’s car finally rolls to a stop in front of the lake house, your breath catches. The estate before you is nothing short of magnificent, standing majestically against the backdrop of the glistening lake. The grand architecture of the lake house blends seamlessly with the surrounding nature, its wide verandas and large, inviting windows exuding an air of comfort and elegance. The entire property seems to beckon you inside, promising a retreat from the outside world.
You take a moment to soak in the breathtaking view, feeling an overwhelming sense of peace. The lake stretches out like a pristine mirror, reflecting the clear blue sky and the lush, green trees that frame its edges. The late afternoon sun casts long, golden shadows across the landscape, imbuing the scene with a warm, inviting glow. It feels like a perfect sanctuary where the demands of daily life simply melt away.
“Wow, this place is amazing,” you breathe out, your eyes wide with admiration as you take in the idyllic surroundings.
Vernon’s face lights up with pride. “Yeah, it’s quite something, isn’t it? My friend’s doing very well for himself.”
Your curiosity gets the better of you, and you turn to Vernon. “What does your friend do for a living?”
Vernon chuckles softly, clearly enjoying the moment. “Josh is a lawyer.”
The name hits you like a sudden jolt, and a sense of dread grips you. “Wait, a lawyer? Josh?”
Before Vernon can respond further, you notice a figure approaching the car. A wave of panic washes over you as you recognize the approaching figure.
Joshua Hong.
Desperation surges through you, and you scramble for an excuse. “Nari, can you drop me off at a bus stop or somewhere nearby? I just remembered I have an urgent appointment back home.”
Vernon, oblivious to your distress, steps out of the car to greet Joshua with a friendly wave. Nari, her concern evident, turns to you with a worried expression. “Y/N, are you okay?”
You manage a strained smile, hoping to alleviate her concern. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just a last-minute thing.”
Nari’s concern deepens as she looks around, considering your request. “I’m sorry, but there aren’t any bus stops around here for a while. Is it really that urgent?”
“It’s about to be…” The urgency in your voice is more than noticeable, but you know you have no choice but to face Joshua. With a heavy heart, you brace yourself and step out of the car, greeting him with a curt nod.
“Joshua,” you say, striving to keep your voice steady despite the turmoil roiling within you.
“Y/N,” he replies, his tone polite but his eyes revealing a hint of surprise at seeing you.
Vernon, sensing the tension, steps in to diffuse the situation. “Joshua, Y/N is Nari's friend I mentioned earlier.”
Joshua nods politely, his gaze lingering on you a moment longer than necessary. “Nice to see you again, Y/N.”
You muster a tight-lipped smile, doing your best to conceal the inner storm. “Likewise.”
Nari glances between you and Joshua, her curiosity piqued. “You two know each other? From where?”
“From work,” you and Joshua say in unison, the shared response hanging in the air.
Nari’s eyes widen slightly as she processes this. “Oh… it’s that Joshua…” she murmurs under her breath, and you feel a headache beginning to brew by the front of your head.
As you follow Nari and Vernon inside, you can’t shake the feeling that this trip might not be as relaxing as you hoped – especially with Joshua Hong in such close proximity.
The group settles into the lake house, and you’re shown to your rooms by Joshua. Nari and Vernon are assigned the more spacious guest room, leaving you with the smaller one just down the hall from Joshua’s room. It’s a beautiful place, but the proximity to Joshua adds another layer of discomfort. He shows it to you while the other two unpack their bags. When you’ve walked into the room and put your bag down, Joshua leans against the door frame.
“I heard you got a promotion,” he begins, breaking the silence.
“Yeah, I did,” you reply tersely, not sure where this conversation is headed.
“Congratulations,” he says, his voice sincere.
“Thanks,” you mutter, feeling uneasy under his gaze.
“Listen, if I had known that it was you, I would’ve asked Nari to invite someone else,” Joshua admits his words causing a pang of disappointment in your chest.
“Well, I’m sorry to disappoint,” you retort.
“That’s not what I—” he starts to explain, but you cut him off.
“I’ll leave as soon as I figure out a way to get home,” you declare, already planning your escape. "They insisted on driving me here, so I don't exactly have a way of escaping."
“Y/N, you should stay,” Joshua insists, his tone softer now. “I’ve never seen you take time off before. You should enjoy yourself.”
You scoff bitterly. “You think I can enjoy myself when you’re around?”
“I’ll stay out of your way as much as I can,” Joshua offers, ignoring your bitterness. “As long as Nari and Vernon haven’t planned group activities.”
You pause, considering his words. The prospect of leaving this beautiful retreat because of Joshua doesn’t sit well with you, but neither does the thought of spending more time in such close quarters with him.
“... fine. Let’s hope they haven’t,” you concede reluctantly, closing the door with a finality that hangs heavily in the air.
As Joshua walks away, you close the door and lean against it, taking a deep breath to steady yourself. This vacation suddenly feels more like a test of endurance than a relaxing getaway.
Despite the close quarters of the lake house, you manage to maintain a respectful distance from Joshua. You navigate the space with a careful precision, orchestrating excuses to linger in the background or to partake in activities where he’s less likely to be present. It's a delicate dance of avoidance—sidestepping eye contact and keeping your conversations short and polite whenever your paths intersect.
One afternoon, Nari proposes a boat ride around the lake. You agree reluctantly, hoping the change of scenery will provide a welcome distraction from the uncomfortable tension that lingers between you and Joshua. As you settle into the boat, the engine’s soft rumble vibrates through the seats, and you take a deep breath, attempting to embrace the moment.
Across from you, Vernon occupies his seat with a quiet, unassuming presence. His warm smile and relaxed demeanor are new to you, as you haven’t had much chance to interact with him until now. He seems genuinely at ease, contrasting sharply with the tension you feel.
“I heard about what happened between you two,” Vernon says, his voice gentle but carrying an undercurrent of curiosity.
You glance over at Joshua, who stands by the steering wheel, showing Nari the intricacies of boat operation. Nari, bundled up in one of Vernon’s oversized sweaters, tugs at the sleeves as she watches Joshua’s every move. She studies the way he operates the boat with knitted brows, nodding along to every other word he says.
Joshua, dressed in his annoyingly perfect white t-shirt and black swimming trunks, looks effortlessly handsome, and it stings to see him so relaxed. His hair is messily slicked back, kept in place by the salty water from his swim earlier- which you definitely didn't witness. Some of the water still clings to his slightly sunburnt skin. A pair of sunglasses sit on the tip of his nose, and you can't really see where he's looking but you hope for everyone's sake that he's looking at the water and not you. With him far enough away to allow for candid conversation, you turn back to Vernon with a sigh.
“Did he tell you everything?” you ask, your voice carrying a trace of exasperation.
“Pretty much,” Vernon responds with a thoughtful hum. “Honestly, I’m on your side. He’s a big flirt.”
“You can say that again.” You take a sip of the cocktail Nari had prepared for the group, the fruity flavor providing a momentary distraction. “I think it’s in his nature…”
Vernon chuckles, lifting his own drink to his lips. There’s something surprisingly comforting about his presence, and you begin to feel a sense of camaraderie with him.
“Thank you for everything you’ve done for Nari, by the way,” you say, your tone sincere. “I haven’t seen her this happy in a long time.”
Vernon shrugs modestly, but his small, genuine smile betrays his pleasure. “I just like making her happy... Actually, there’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you.”
“Go ahead,” you encourage, curiosity piqued.
“I’ve been thinking of asking her to move in with me,” Vernon confesses, his voice laced with both excitement and nervousness. You hum thoughtfully. “Things have been going so well—so I was considering asking her with flowers, lilies.”
“She’ll love that.” You nod approvingly. “She’s quite the romantic—getting her flowers that she's named after will definitely make her swoon.”
You both chuckle at the thought, glancing over at Nari, who waves cheerfully from her spot. The warmth of the moment makes you realize that Vernon’s proposal is heartfelt and genuine. You turn back to him, offering more advice. “Asking her to move in with you is a great idea. I’m sure she’d love it. She’s just a bit shy when it comes to big gestures. It might be better to do it after the trip, when you’re alone. She likes to keep things private.”
“Good to know.” Vernon nods, setting his glass back down with a thoughtful expression.
“I’m not her best friend for nothing,” you say with a hint of pride.
“True,” Vernon agrees with a smile. “... Can I give you some advice too?”
“Shoot,” you reply, looking at him with an intrigued gaze.
“Try again,” he suggests softly, his tone carrying a note of encouragement. “With Joshua, I mean.”
“Doesn’t he have a girlfriend?” you ask, feeling a mix of hope and skepticism.
“Things have changed...” Vernon’s fingers fidget slightly, as if he’s weighing his words carefully. “I won’t speak for him, but just… give it a try.”
“I’ll take your word for it,” you say with a resigned sigh. “Maybe I will.”
As the boat glides smoothly across the lake’s tranquil waters, the gentle lap of waves against the hull offers a brief respite from the storm of emotions swirling within you. The serenity of the lake, combined with Vernon’s unexpected support, provides a welcome escape from the lingering tension at the lake house.
As the vacation nears its end, you find yourself alone with Joshua on the porch one evening – Vernon’s words floating freely in your mind. You’re not sure how you ended up sitting with Joshua, but you were tipsy enough not to care. After the drinks before and during dinner, on top of the beer you’re drinking now, your ability to think of the consequences of your actions has flown out the window. So, sitting next to Joshua on the deckchairs is the least of your worries at the moment.
The sun sets in a blaze of orange and pink hues, casting a warm glow over the lake house porch where the two of you sit. There’s tension in the air, a mix of unresolved rivalry and unspoken attraction that has lingered between you for so long.
Joshua breaks the silence, his voice gentle yet filled with determination. “I heard Vernon’s going to ask Nari to move in with him.”
“He is.” You nod. “It’s sweet.”
“Do you think it’s a good idea?” he questions.
“Why wouldn’t it be?”
“It’s only been a few months, they barely know each other… I just think it’s better if they wait.” Joshua takes a sip of his beer.
“I think you’re being pessimistic.” You put down your own bottle of beer. “They’re good for each other. Some people can have all the time in the world and still not work out, why shouldn’t they try it out?”
Joshua pauses, looking over at you with a questioning gaze. You watch the gears turning in his head, and he eventually groans when he comes to a realization. “Vernon told you about my break up, didn’t he?”
“Nothing gets past you, does it?” You sigh. “It’s not like I pried the information out of him, you know?”
“I know, I just… we have a history that makes everything awkward, somehow,” Joshua says. “It just adds to it, I guess– I should’ve told him not to say anything.”
“It’s fine. Why should I care?” You fidget with your nails.
Joshua placed his half-empty bottle of beer down on the wooden table, the condensation leaving a small ring on the surface. As he did so, he shot a quizzical look in your direction, raising one eyebrow in playful curiosity. A rush of excitement bubbled up inside you, but you quickly attributed it to the alcohol. Nevertheless, unable to contain your amusement, a soft giggle escaped your lips as you returned his gaze with a coy grin and raised your eyebrows inquisitively, silently prompting him to explain his unexpected gesture.
“You don’t care?” he asks, “Not at all? Not one bit?”
“Not at all.” You take another sip of your beer. “Not one bit.”
Joshua hums in disapproval, slowly shaking his head – but his smile gave away that he was joking around. The look he gave you, something secret glittering in his eyes, took you back to all those years ago. He looked the same as he did in university. Maybe his smile lines were a bit more pronounced, and maybe you could find gray hairs if you looked closely, but he was pretty much the same. A proper boy next door with an irresistible charm.
“I could’ve sworn that you asked me out a few months ago,” he argued. “To me, that seems like caring– I don’t know about you.”
“Shut up.” You playfully roll your eyes at him and put your beer bottle down next to his. “Let’s forget about it. I should’ve known you weren’t interested, anyway.”
“I don’t want to forget about it,” Joshua confesses. “And who says I’m not interested?”
You cast a furtive glance in Joshua's direction, your eyes widening in surprise, but he responds with a casual shrug. As he sits up, he swings his legs over the deckchair's edge to squarely face you. His tousled hair adds to his disheveled charm, prompting you to sit up a bit and instinctively reach out to straighten it, but you stop yourself just in time. The two of you are seated with your feet pointing toward each other, both of you feeling the weight of anticipation for what might unfold next hanging in the air.
“You’re interested in me?” you ask.
“Why do you think my relationship went to shit?”
You guffaw at his statement as if it was the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever heard. However, Joshua looks back at you with complete seriousness.
“You’re saying you broke up with your ex because of me?” you say.
“I might as well have,” he confesses. “She said I talked too much about you… even went so far as to encourage me to go after you ‘now that I’m single,’ although I don’t think she was being serious with that one.”
Hearing about Joshua’s failing relationship, because of you no less, satisfies the little monster of envy in your chest. You can’t help but laugh at the situation, though you quickly cover your mouth and apologize.
“No, you’re right.” He picks his beer up again and takes a sip. “It is funny.”
“... you talked about me?” you question, and lean forward as if to encourage him to share his secrets. “What did you say?”
“I’m not sure if I should tell,” he mutters and leans forward as well. “Do you really want to know?”
“Desperately,” you say dramatically, making Joshua laugh.
“Most of the time I complained– but apparently my tangents were too flirtatious in nature.”
“That’s just like you.” You nodded. “You flirt with everyone.”
“Of course, you would think that…” he murmurs and glances down at your lips. “The truth is, Y/N… I only flirt with you.”
“That’s not true! I’ve seen you! You chat up every woman I’ve ever seen you work with– not to mention the way you always try to flatter our superiors.”
“Flattery and flirting are different, sweetheart.” He puts down the bottle again and moves a little closer to you. “I thought you, out of all people, would’ve noticed that by now.”
You can only stare at Joshua, your mind completely blank of any retaliation that you would usually come up with. Not even when Joshua reached over to you, and grabbed your hand; not even when he pulled you up to your feet and guided you over to where he was sitting, could you come up with anything to say.
You only stare as he grabs your beer from your hand and puts it on the table, before making you straddle his lap. Everything in your mind is screaming at you to do something – you’re surprised by how easily you give in to him, but you do nothing to stop it.
“Is this okay?” he asks and you can only nod in response. “Not feeling so chatty anymore?”
Who is this man? You don’t recognize the Joshua in front of you – when did he gain the ability to make you weak in the knees? With a gentle touch, Joshua traces the skin of your arms until he reaches your hands – which he puts on his shoulders. His every move is slow, giving you the opportunity to deny him. You don’t. Joshua lets out a chuckle at your wide eyes and slightly parted lips.
“Who even are you?” you manage to whisper.
“Tonight? I’m whoever you want me to be.”
“You’re drunk.”
“I’m sober enough to know what I want,” he argues. “Do you?”
You swallow and glance down at his lips, at the way the tip of his tongue darts out to wet them ever so slightly — has he always had such perfectly kissable lips? When Joshua’s hands play with the hem of your shirt, you’re brought back to your senses. He raises his eyebrows, silently repeating his question.
“Fuck it,” you mutter under your breath. “Take me to your room.”
Nari and Vernon are already asleep at the other end of the house, deciding to take an early night after the drinking and constant sun exposure tired them out, so Joshua carries you through the house without worry. He’s already kissing you by the time he opens the door to his bedroom – the only room you haven’t seen in the house.
His bed is neatly made, everything put into place, although you hardly notice it as Joshua’s keeping you much too busy. He throws you on the bed, before crawling up to you himself. You find yourself pinned under him, as he drinks in the sight of you looking like the perfect prey.
“Will you let me have my way with you without biting back tonight, sweetheart?” he murmurs before pressing another soft kiss to your lips.
“Depends on if you can shut me up or not,” you tease.
“Oh, you’re just begging to be taught a lesson, aren’t you?”
You shut him up with another kiss, and he smiles against your lips. As your hands find their way under his t-shirt, he pulls away for a second to pull it over his head. Your hands reach out to touch him, admire his toned, sunkissed torso—cursing yourself for saying no when the rest of the group went out to swim earlier today. Joshua’s hands are playing with the hem of your shirt now, and you sit up to take it off. One of his hands cups your still-covered breast, while the other gently caresses your waist.
“Beautiful,” he mutters under his breath before bending down to leave marks along your clavicle.
You turn your head to give him more access, a gasp escaping your lips as his teeth graze against your delicate skin. His hands go behind your back, unclipping the clasp of your bra and pulling the straps down your shoulders.
You cup his cheek, your fingers trembling slightly as you study his flushed face. The intensity in his eyes and the warmth of his skin feel almost surreal, as if this moment is one you’ll never experience again. Your breath comes in shallow, uneven gasps, the air around you charged with an electric tension that makes it almost impossible to think clearly.
“What are you doing to me?” he asks, his voice a mix of confusion and desire. His breath mingles with yours, each exhale heavy with the weight of unspoken emotions.
“Is it me or is it the alcohol?” you ask, your voice barely above a whisper, each word laden with uncertainty.
“I don’t know,” he admits, his eyes locked onto yours, his gaze searching for answers that neither of you seem to have.
Before you have a chance to respond, the space between you closes with a sudden intensity. His lips crash against yours, the contact sending a jolt of electricity through your entire body. The world narrows to just the sensation of his kiss, every other thought and concern momentarily forgotten. The tension that had been building between you erupts in this singular, explosive moment, leaving you breathless and utterly consumed.
Joshua pushes one of his knees between your legs, and you moan into his mouth at the contact. The sound ignited something within him, and he began kissing down your body. When he reached the top of your jeans, he expertly undid the button and zipper and pulled the pants off your body. A wet stain is visible on your gray panties, and Joshua presses his thumb against it. An urge to close your legs hits you then, but he’s holding them apart—as if he’s protecting his right to see you like this with his life.
Soon enough, he’s ripping your panties off and diving into your pussy. His tongue is messy, toying with your clit before moving down to your hole. Joshua moans, his eyes rolling into the back of his head, as he tastes you. His arms wrap tightly around your thighs, holding you in place. Even if you wanted to escape his ministrations, you couldn’t.
“Oh god,” you moan, “Don’t stop!”
You should know better than to command Joshua to do something. As soon as the words leave your lips, his grip releases and he sits up on his knees. Your orgasm is dragged away from you, and you glare up at Joshua. He only grins back like a madman, his lower face covered in your juices.
With a huff, you sit up and go to unbutton his jeans—desperate to have him feel the same withdrawal. He halts your movements by softly placing his hands over yours, gently guiding them to a stop. You look up at him. His eyes are filled with lust as he cups your cheek, bending down to capture your lips in a kiss. You whimper when you taste yourself on him.
“Do you want me?” he murmurs against your lips.
“Please,” you whine.
“Tell me,” he hums. “Tell me that you want me.”
He leans his forehead against yours, staring into your soul. You can’t allow yourself to say it—you can’t give in to him this easily… right? But you do want him, that’s no secret by now. You don’t just want him, you need him.
“I want you, Joshua…”
With an animalistic growl, he pushes his lips against yours again. You help him get his pants off, your teeth clashing against each other as you move. There’s no time to savor feeling him up over his underwear, he just rips them off.
His calloused hands push you back onto the bed before he pushes your thighs apart again. He watches you like a man starved, waiting for any sign that you don’t want to continue. You reach out for him, and once he’s in your embrace you lock your legs around his waist.
“I give in,” you murmur in his ear. “Have your way with me.”
At your compliance, he aligns his cock with your core and pushes inside of you. The two of you groan at the feeling—something that you hadn’t felt in so long, to the point where you had forgotten how much better it felt than playing with your toys. You trail kisses down his jaw, to his throat. Joshua starts moving his hips against yours, and you find yourself in ecstasy.
“You’re unbelievable,” he moans hoarsely.
You smile against the skin of his neck, only humming in approval. His dick was bigger than you could’ve imagined, filling you up to the point where you felt completely full, and when he slams into you like your pussy is the best he’s ever had, you can’t help but nearly scream for him. You can only hope that your friends are sound asleep.
“I should’ve done this sooner.” Joshua pants as he leans his forehead against yours. “You feel so good…”
For a moment, you swear that you heard him whine for you. As his hips stutter, you take the opportunity to maneuver yourself on top of him. Once you’re sitting on him, you grind your hips against his before you start bouncing. Joshua sits up, taking one of your tits in his mouth—his hands traveling from your waist to your upper back to push you further against him.
“Do you want to cum inside me, baby?” you ask.
Joshua peers up at you through his lashes, his eyes hazy with lust. His mouth detaches from your body, and you smile at the sight of his glossy and swollen lips. He nods, laying back down to fuck up into you. Joshua’s hands are back on your hips, keeping you still to let him do all the work.
“Holy fffuck–”
You reach your hand down to rub your clit, and Joshua moans as you clench around him. The two of you are babbling incoherently; begging the other to cum with you, telling each other that you’re so close, and letting out unintelligible moans.
By the time you’re cumming, you’re shaking and your eyes are rolling back into your head. You fall against Joshua as he starts slowing down his thrusts. His arms embrace you again, holding your sweaty body against his chest.
“Are you alright?” he whispers, his voice tender and concerned as it brushes against your ear.
“I’m good,” you slur out, struggling to piece together your fragmented thoughts.
For a brief moment, everything goes dark. When consciousness returns, you find yourself lying beside Joshua. The covers are now draped over both of you, cocooning you in a warm embrace. Joshua’s fingers trace gentle, soothing circles on your skin, his touch both comforting and intimate. As your eyes flutter open, you meet his gaze. His eyes hold a mixture of relief and affection, and a soft, reassuring smile spreads across his face.
“Hi,” he says, his voice low and gentle, as if he’s afraid to startle you.
“Hi,” you respond, your voice still shaky. “Was I out?”
“Only for a bit,” he murmurs, his fingers continuing their soothing motion. “I got us cleaned up and into bed. You didn’t miss much.” His tone is calming, filled with a quiet confidence that eases the lingering haze from your mind.
You chuckle, moving to lay closer to his chest. "I'm on birth control, by the way... you don't have to worry about any surprises."
Joshua hums in response. Your legs are already sore, but you find comfort in the slight sting. Joshua’s fingers don’t stop drawing circles and the action, along with the rhythm of his breathing, has you almost falling back asleep.
“I missed you after graduation,” he admits with a mutter. “I thought I’d find it peaceful, but I didn’t… I did everything to hide it, but maybe switching companies gave it away.”
“You switched companies for me?” You move to get a better look at him.
“Would it be embarrassing if I said yes?”
“Absolutely.” You grin, and he replies with a smile.
You stifle a yawn, and Joshua coos at you in a way that you would’ve found annoying—but now, your heart swells a little in your chest. He brushes away a few stray hairs from your face.
“Go to sleep,” he murmurs. “We’ll talk more in the morning.”
“Goodnight.” You nuzzle your face back into his chest.
“Goodnight.
Morning brings a bittersweet awakening. Despite Joshua’s confession, despite the night you shared together, you can’t bring yourself to stay with him. You know that it would only end with broken hearts and an even more awkward atmosphere at work. No, you can’t stay like this — Joshua’s arms around you, his soft snores, and his calm heartbeat, all make it too real.
You feel the weight of last night’s decisions as you quietly slip out of his embrace. He doesn’t wake up, he merely scrunches his nose and lazily pats the space on the bed to find you. When he doesn’t, he settles for a pillow that he embraces just as he had embraced you prior. Tears begin to sting your eyes, you can’t watch this any longer, and you leave without hesitation.
After changing and grabbing your purse from your room, you find Nari sitting in the kitchen on one of the barstools. She’s snickering to herself while she’s watching Vernon make breakfast– you’d never seen her let go of control in the kitchen before, and if it wasn’t for the fact that Joshua could wake up any moment you would’ve stayed and watched. She turns to you with a bright smile once you make yourself known by clearing your throat.
“Good morning!” she chirps, but her smile falters when she sees your wrecked expression. “Are you alright, Y/N?”
“I… I need you to drive me to the bus station.” You didn’t mean for your voice to become so shaky, but you couldn’t help it.
“Did something happen?” Vernon asks, but you can’t look at him.
“I just need to go home– I think I’m getting sick,” you lie.
“Oh, well if you just wait a minute, we can pack up and leave all together. I don’t mind leaving early if you’re feeling sick,” Nari says, compassionate as ever.
“No.” You look up at her, trying to silently communicate something with your eyes — what, you’re not really sure. “I need to leave now.”
Nari pauses, thinking it over before eventually nodding. Every second that passes feels like an hour to you, and your friend seems to be able to notice it. She says goodbye to Vernon, telling him to not burn the house down as she plants a kiss on his cheek. You want to throw up.
“I’ll get my jacket.” She grabs the car keys and walks out of the kitchen ahead of you. “Let’s go.”
The drive is silent, the air thick with unspoken words and the weight of emotions left unsaid. Nari understands your need for solitude, respecting your fragile state. The journey feels longer than it should, each passing mile echoing the uncertainty of what lies ahead.
At last, you arrive at the bus stop. She tells you that she’ll bring your bags for you when she and Vernon get back to the city. Before you can step out of the car, she puts a hand on your shoulder.
“It’s Joshua, isn’t it?” she asks and you nod. “Alright. I understand if you don’t want to talk about it… but know that I’ll back you up no matter what.”
With a soft murmur of thanks, you bid Nari farewell, watching her drive away into the distance. Alone at the bus stop, you wait for the bus that will take you back to the familiar confines of your life.
The sun rises higher in the sky, casting a warm glow that hints at new beginnings. As you board the bus, you carry with you the echoes of a night spent in each other’s arms. You sit down in one of the many empty seats, looking out the window to watch the trees fly by and the lake in the distance grow smaller and smaller.
Back at work, you find yourself actively avoiding Joshua, more so than before. Every morning, you arrive early at your desk, burying yourself in tasks and emails, hoping to avoid any unnecessary encounters that might stir up the unresolved emotions from your time at the lake house.
The tension between you and Joshua doesn't go unnoticed by your colleagues. They whisper about the shift in dynamics, speculating on the nature of your interactions and the underlying reasons for your distance. Despite their curiosity, no one dares to address the elephant in the room, leaving the unspoken tension to hang heavy in the air.
For you, avoidance isn't just about uncertainty in your feelings for Joshua; it's also about safeguarding your professional reputation and maintaining a sense of control over your emotions. Sleeping around with someone at the office – let alone, someone who’s under you in rank – is enough to stir up headache-inducing drama.
As the weeks pass, you remain resolute in your avoidance, navigating the delicate balance between personal desires and professional boundaries. The workplace becomes a battleground of unspoken words and missed opportunities, with both you and Joshua wondering if there's a way to reconcile the growing attraction with the realities of your professional lives.
Amidst the uncertainty, you and Joshua find yourselves at a crossroads, unsure of whether to pursue what could be or maintain the status quo. The aftermath of your intimate encounter at the lake house lingers.
Tumblr media
When you hear the news of Nari moving in with Vernon, you’re ecstatic – and when you see his apartment, you’re in awe. The luxurious condo has two stories and although the loft area is smaller, it’s still impressive. You hadn’t ever thought to ask Vernon what he does for a living, but clearly, it pays well.
As Nari excitedly shows you around the apartment, your heart swells for her. This is all that she had wanted; she had a stable job and a stable relationship, and now one of the most impressive apartments you had ever seen. Once you have seen every crevice of the home, she invites you to a housewarming party that she’s hosting later tonight.
“Isn’t a housewarming party for people who move into a new place?” you ask with a smile.
“Well, yeah– but I’m moving into a new place, so it still counts!”
You laugh with her, congratulating her once again on her new place and promising her that you’ll definitely be there tonight. As you leave through the dining room, you spot a bouquet of lilies sitting pretty in a vase. The memories of yours and Vernon’s conversation bring back memories of the lake house; memories of Joshua. You paint on a smile as you say goodbye, promising to swing by later to help with preparations.
Nari’s excitement is contagious as she organizes a lively housewarming party. The space is adorned with cheerful decorations: vibrant streamers hanging from the ceiling, colorful balloons clustered in the corners, and a beautifully set table brimming with snacks and drinks. Friends gather, their chatter and laughter filling the room, ready to toast to the new chapter in Nari's life.
You arrive, trying to mask the unease lingering beneath the surface. You know that Joshua might be here – or might stop by for a moment, but that’s enough for you to go into full-on fight or flight mode. As you walk in, Nari greets you with a warm hug.
“I'm so glad you could make it!” Nari beams, her eyes sparkling with happiness.
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world,” you reply, forcing a smile. Inside, though, your heart feels heavy.
As the party progresses, the merriment around you contrasts sharply with the turmoil within. You watch Nari and Vernon laughing together, their connection undeniable. Every affectionate glance they share feels like a knife twisting in your chest. Are you really about to lose your best friend to a friend of Joshua’s? Does he have to take everything from you? The unresolved tension with Joshua weighs heavily on your mind, clouding your judgment along with the many drinks you sneak from the kitchen.
You hate yourself for feeling this way, opting to stay in a corner of the living room to take a moment to breathe. However, the good friend that she is, Nari comes to check up on you.
“Are you alright? You’re not bored, right?” she asks.
“No, I’m fine.”
Your eyes are drawn to a sudden rising volume from the hallway, somebody just arrived. Joshua walks into the living room, still in his suit from work – he had probably been working overtime before he got here. He’s lively chatting away with Vernon, and you feel a clump building up in your chest. You swallow looking back at Nari, who looks as worried as ever.
“I’m just worried about you,” you admit.
“Worried about me?” She chuckles. “Why?”
“This thing with Vernon just seems to be moving too fast. Maybe you shouldn’t.” Your words are sharp as knives, and you can see how they cut through Nari’s bubbly personality.
“What are you talking about?” Nari furrows her eyebrows, her lips forming into a small pout as they always did when she was irritated.
“You’ve only known him for a few months–”
“Oh, so now you’re the expert on relationships? Why can’t you just be happy for me?”
“Because you’re not thinking straight!”
In a moment of emotional vulnerability, fueled by your own insecurities and the effects of a few too many drinks, you lash out at Nari. The noise of the party seems to fade as you focus on her, your voice rising.
“Be honest. Do you really think this is a good idea, Nari?” you blurt out, your words slurring slightly. “Moving in with Vernon so soon? You’re rushing into this without thinking!”
“Vernon and I are happy. This is what I want.”
“It’s not about what you want, it’s about what’s smart!” you snap, projecting your frustrations about your non-existent relationship with Joshua onto her newfound happiness. “You’re just setting yourself up for disappointment.”
The room falls silent, the party atmosphere dims as tension fills the space. Nari’s eyes well up with tears.
“I thought you were happy for me,” she says, her voice trembling. “Why are you being like this?”
Unable to contain your emotions, you storm out of the party, leaving behind a bewildered Nari and a gathering of uncomfortable guests. The weight of your actions settles heavily on your shoulders as you retreat into the night, grappling with regret and remorse for hurting your friend.
Alone in the quiet of the night, you reflect on the events that transpired. You realize that your anger towards Nari was misplaced, a manifestation of your own internal struggles rather than a reflection of her actions.
The guilt gnaws at you, urging you to confront the root of your insecurities and face the truths you've been avoiding. You walk as far as you can, which is just a block away before your feet start hurting from your heels. You huff over your uncomfortable shoes as you lean against a pole to try to take them off.
Concern etched on his face, Joshua steps out into the cool night air, searching for you. The city streets are bustling, but he spots you, slightly disoriented and clearly in need of assistance. Without hesitation, he approaches, gently guiding you with a steady hand. He makes you put your foot back down on the ground and bends down to fix the strap you had managed to loosen before he stands back up
“Hey, I’ve been looking for you. Are you okay?” Joshua asks, his voice is soft and concerned.
You’re surprised to see Joshua, a mix of relief and embarrassment washing over you as he helps steady your steps. Your mind races, trying to recall your address, but the fog of alcohol clouds your thoughts.
“I... I don’t know,” you mumble, your voice shaky. “I just yelled at my best friend about her perfect relationship, embarrassed myself in front of all of our friends, I’m cold and- and my fucking feet hurt!”
Tears begin to well up in your eyes, and Joshua reacts quickly by gently slipping off his suit jacket and draping it around your shoulders, providing warmth and comfort. Realizing the urgency of the moment, Joshua signals for a passing taxi and assists you as you climb into the back seat.
“What’s your address?” he asks.
However, over the drunken rambles and ugly sobs, he can’t hear a word that you’re saying. You wrap your arms around his bicep, pressing your forehead against his shoulder. You mumble something about just wanting to sleep. With a sigh, Joshua tells the driver his address and asks him to drive carefully.
It doesn’t take long for the two of you to arrive at his condo, as it was only a few blocks away. The warmth and familiarity offer a stark contrast to the chaotic night outside. He ensures you’re settled comfortably on the couch as he helps you off with your shoes. Joshua mutters something about getting you a glass of water, and you hum in response. A few seconds later, he’s back with a tall glass of water which he makes you drink in its entirety.
“There you go,” he murmurs. “Okay, let’s get you into something more comfortable.”
Joshua gently guides you deeper into his apartment, his hand steady and reassuring on your back. You stumble slightly, the room spinning around you as you struggle to stay upright. When you reach the bathroom, he helps you sit down on the toilet seat, his touch careful and considerate. The cool porcelain feels surprisingly comforting against your flushed skin, and you lean back, feeling a wave of relief as the spinning sensation subsides a little.
After a minute, Joshua returns, his presence a welcome anchor in the disorienting haze. He places a pile of clothes neatly by the sink, their crisp, clean fabric a stark contrast to the disarray you feel inside. Alongside them, he sets down a box of makeup wipes, their crisp packaging promising a small, fresh start. Without a word, he leaves you alone, allowing you the space to collect yourself.
Once you’re dressed and feeling a bit steadier, you step out of the bathroom. The sight of Joshua waiting for you, his expression a mix of concern and care, brings a pang of guilt. His eyes soften as he takes in your appearance, and he offers a supportive smile as he helps guide you to the bedroom.
The journey to his bed is slow and steady, his hand a constant, reassuring presence on your arm. As you settle into the softness of the bed, the comfort of the sheets and the warmth of the room contrast sharply with the turmoil still churning inside you.
“I’m sorry–” you start, but Joshua quickly hushes you.
“Just rest,” Joshua says gently. “We’ll talk in the morning.”
You nod, grateful for his kindness as you close your eyes, the events of the night replaying in your mind. The weight of your actions and the need to address your inner turmoil hang heavily, but for now, you allow yourself to be enveloped by the warmth and safety of Joshua’s care.
As morning light filters through unfamiliar surroundings, you stir awake, feeling disoriented and unsure of where you are. Panic momentarily sets in as you try to piece together the events of the previous night. Your mind races with fragmented memories, leaving you uncertain about who you spent the night with.
Just then, the door opens quietly, and Joshua steps into the room with a gentle smile. Your heart skips a beat as you see him, cheeks flushing with embarrassment. Did you seriously sleep with Joshua for a second time in your drunken state? What did your drunk self have against your sanity?
“Morning,” Joshua says softly, his smile is warm but his eyes are filled with concern.
You sit up quickly, clutching the blanket to your chest. “Joshua, did we...?” you start, your voice trailing off in embarrassment.
He shakes his head, sensing your unease. “No, you slept in here,” he explains calmly, gesturing to the bed. “I took the couch to make sure you were comfortable.”
Relief floods you as you realize your assumption was wrong. “Oh, thank you,” you reply, nodding awkwardly, trying to collect yourself amidst the morning haze.
Joshua gives you a reassuring smile. “I made some breakfast. Why don't you join me in the kitchen?”
You follow Joshua with a mix of gratitude and lingering embarrassment, the weight of the previous night still heavy on your shoulders. As you enter his elegantly furnished kitchen, you’re struck by the refined simplicity of the space. The morning light filters softly through the windows, casting a warm, golden glow over the polished countertops and tasteful décor.
You sit across from Joshua at a beautifully set breakfast table. The gentle clinking of cutlery and the soft hum of the coffee maker are the only sounds that break the stillness of the calm morning.
As you begin to nibble on your food, your movements are tentative and slow, each bite a small effort to ground yourself. The flavors are comforting, but your mind is still tangled in the events of the night before. The tranquility of the kitchen contrasts sharply with the turmoil you feel inside, and you find yourself grappling with the lingering embarrassment while trying to process the events that led you here.
“How are you feeling?” Joshua asks, his voice gentle.
You sigh, looking down at your plate. “Honestly, a mess… I was so awful to Nari last night. I don’t know what came over me.”
Joshua leans forward, his expression attentive. “Do you want to talk about it?”
Although the situation was strange, you feel yourself fully able to talk to Joshua like this. The vulnerability in your voice is obvious as you begin to share your inner turmoil. “Seeing Nari so happy with Vernon just... it brought out all my insecurities. God– I hate myself for what I said to her.”
Joshua listens attentively, his presence a surprising comforting anchor amidst the storm of emotions. “We all have moments we're not proud of,” he says softly. “But recognizing them is the first step to making things right.”
You glance up, meeting his eyes. “I don't know how to fix this. I’ve hurt her, and I don't know if she’ll forgive me.”
“Give her some time,” Joshua advises. “And when you're ready, talk to her. Be honest about what you're going through. She'll understand.”
In the course of the conversation, there is a sense of relief and lightness as Joshua's empathetic and genuinely concerned responses provide reassurance. Yet, the enduring pain remains. The guilt for the actions towards Nari is now overshadowed by the guilt for the actions directed at Joshua.
“I’m sorry, Joshua,” you say. “I shouldn’t just have left.”
“You had your reasons.” Joshua lifts his coffee cup to his lips. “And I can’t say that I blame you– it was a little too much too fast. I told Vernon after you had left… you should’ve seen his face.”
The two of you break out into soft laughter, the tension between you slowly dissipating. The picture of Vernon’s shocked face is just too clear in your mind, and you end up letting out a snorting laugh. You both pause as you’re struck with embarrassment. When you look up at Joshua, you see a flash of opportunity glimmer in his eyes.
“Don’t,” you warn, but it’s too late.
Joshua struggled to stifle his laughter, but he couldn't help but emit a few chuckles. Under normal circumstances, you would have felt angry at his reaction. However, in the current situation, his amusement was contagious, and you found yourself unable to contain a smile.
“You know,” you say, “I’m actually glad you’re here. You’ve been more supportive than I could have asked for, and definitely more than I deserve.”
Joshua returns the smile, his eyes warm. “I’m just happy I could help.”
As the morning sun filters through the window, you find yourself sitting in the cozy intimacy of Joshua’s kitchen, sharing a heartfelt breakfast and conversation. In that tender moment, you feel a sense of clarity washing over you, marking a pivotal turning point in your relationship.
Realizing the weight of your words and actions from the previous night, you understand the need to mend fences with Nari. With a resolve fueled by introspection, you decide to take the first step toward reconciliation. You leave Joshua’s apartment to go back home, feeding Tofu and freshening up before you sit down on your bed with your phone in your hand.
Gathering your thoughts, you reach out to Nari, your fingers trembling slightly as you type a message on your phone.
Hey Nari, I really want to apologize for last night. Can we meet up? I’ll be at our usual spot at 3.
After a few moments that feel like an eternity, a reply comes through. It’s a simple “Sure,” but it’s more than enough for you. You breathe a sigh of relief and quickly agree. The hours until the meeting drags by, your mind racing with thoughts of how to articulate your heartfelt apology.
At the café, you arrive early and sit down by your usual table, nervously fiddling with your cup of coffee. You’re not sure if she’ll even show up, and you wouldn’t blame her if she didn’t, but she, nevertheless, walks in through the door. When Nari walks in, you wave her over, standing up to greet her. She offers a tentative smile, but the hurt is still evident in her eyes. The atmosphere between you is thick with tension as she sits down.
“Hi,” you start, your voice trembling slightly. “Thanks for coming.”
Nari nods curtly, her expression guarded. Taking a deep breath, you dive in. “I’m really sorry for what I said last night. I know I hurt you, and that was never my intention. I let my own frustrations and insecurities get the better of me, and I took it out on you. It wasn’t fair, and I deeply regret it.”
Nari’s eyes remain hard, but she listens quietly. The tension is still there, hanging heavily in the air.
“The… incident with Joshua freaked me out a lot– I hadn’t been able to get it off my mind, and the thought of seeing him at your party only made it worse,” you continue, your voice wavering. “I guess, seeing you so happy with Vernon made me scared. I projected my emotions onto your situation. I know it’s no excuse for what I said...”
Nari’s expression softens slightly, but she remains silent, contemplating your words.
“I really am sorry, Nari. You didn’t deserve any of that,” you add, your voice barely above a whisper.
Nari takes a deep breath, her shoulders relaxing a little. “I understand where you’re coming from,” she says finally, her tone gentle. “I should’ve thought about your situation with Joshua... and I appreciate you being honest with me about what you’re going through.”
The tension in the air begins to dissipate, replaced by a sense of tentative understanding. “We all have our moments. What matters is that we’re able to talk about it and move forward,” Nari continues, a small smile forming on her lips.
"So, you'll forgive me?"
Nari pretends to think for a moment, before breaking out into a big smile. "I'll forgive you."
A wave of relief washes over you as you hear her words. “Oh, thank you, Nari. I promise I’ll do better.”
Nari reaches across the table to squeeze your hand. “I know you will… also you owe me a coffee.”
You release a hearty laugh, then briskly make your way to the barista to request another cup of coffee. As you return to your seat, you notice Nari gazing at you with a look of worry etched into her gentle smile.
“Did you get home okay last night?” she asks.
“I… didn’t get home,” you admit.
“What? You didn’t sleep outside, did you?” Her eyes widen as she raises her voice ever so slightly.
“Actually…” You lean forward and lower your voice. “I ended up at Joshua’s place.”
“What?”
You quickly shush her, and she repeats her “What?” in a lower volume. You smile at her, and she raises her eyebrows in a silent question. You shake your head.
“He took me home and let me sleep in his bed– he even slept on the couch,” you say. “I think… I’ll try asking him out again.”
“Really?” Nari gasps but quiets down as her coffee arrives.
She thanks the barista and waits for him to be out of earshot before she lets out an excited “Oh my god!” The two of you quickly fall into your usual banter.
It had been a long, arduous day at work, and you were finally ready to head home. The rain pattered against the office windows, creating a soothing yet melancholic backdrop to your thoughts. You hadn’t spoken to Joshua since that morning in his kitchen, and the awkwardness between you lingered like an unspoken shadow.
As you gathered your things and made your way to the exit, you unexpectedly bumped into Joshua. His eyes widened in surprise, but he quickly composed himself.
“Hey,” he said softly, holding up his umbrella. “Looks like we’re leaving at the same time.”
“Yeah,” you replied, forcing a smile. “Didn’t realize it was raining this hard. I would’ve taken the car this morning if I’d known.”
“Here,” he offered, extending the umbrella. “You can use this. I’ll be fine.”
You hesitate but then nod. “Thanks… How about we share it? We’re both going the same way, right?”
Joshua smiles, a hint of relief in his eyes. “Sure, let’s go.”
The two of you walked in silence under the umbrella, the rain a steady rhythm around you. It felt strange yet comforting to be so close to him after everything that had happened. When you reached the bus stop, the awkwardness slowly began to dissipate.
On the bus, Joshua found seats for both of you and as the vehicle jolted into motion, he broke the silence. “So, how’s everything with Nari?”
You smiled, genuinely happy. “We’re good. We talked it out, and we’re fine again.”
Joshua’s face lit up. “I’m glad to hear that. I hope you two don’t have to go through something like that again.”
You chuckled, teasingly. “Well, that depends on whether you're going to keep messing around with me or not.”
He looked at you with a soft smile, a serious look in his eyes. “I don’t want to mess around anymore.”
The bus pulled to a stop near your apartment. As you both got off, the rain still coming down, Joshua turned to you. “Can I ask you something?”
You nodded, heart pounding in your chest.
“Would you go out with me if I asked?” he asked, sincerity in his eyes.
You smiled, feeling a rush of warmth. “Yes.”
“Good...” He smiled, approaching you and taking your hands in his. “Go out with me?”
“You can do better than that,” you tease and he lets out a chuckle.
“Can you give me the pleasure of taking you out this weekend, sweetheart?” he asks again with a playful smile.
“Sure you can.”
It was still raining and there was no sign of stopping. You knew that if you went separate ways now, he’d give you his umbrella. Not wanting to be the cause of his cold, you invited him to your place. “Why don’t you come to my place and dry off? It’s just around the corner.”
The two of you walk under Joshua’s umbrella together, your shoulders brushing against each other. You speak of whatever comes to mind, mostly work and the cases you’re currently busy with – although the subject matter is something you usually keep at work, you don’t mind the banter.
When you arrive at your apartment, you open the door for Joshua as he shakes off the rain from his umbrella. The two of you get into the elevator, a tension building up that is unlike the ones you had felt before. Excitement is the only word you can use to describe it.
The building is tall, and you live far up, so the elevator takes its time to climb up the floors. Joshua stands next to you, his hand brushing against yours for a while. He takes it in his hand once the elevator doors open and lets you lead the way to your front door. His hand is warm in yours, sending a shiver down your spine.
You only let go of his hand once the two of you stand in front of your door. Unable to keep his hands off of you for long, Joshua wraps his arms around your waist while you try to unlock your door. You let out a giggle, so unlike the laughs you have let out before that, you barely recognize it as your own, while your shaky hands struggle with the lock. When you finally open the door, you immediately spot a white, furry ball. Tofu meows at you, clearly annoyed with your late arrival.
“A cat.” Joshua’s voice is laced with surprise as he lets go of you.
You walk further into your apartment to pet Tofu, but he quickly sneaks past you and struts over to Joshua. He closes the door behind him quickly, scared that Tofu might walk out. Tofu has no interest in the outside, instead, he walks between Joshua’s legs and purrs.
“I thought I’d end up single for the rest of my life and decided to start early with the cats,” you quip playfully. “Tofu… really likes you.”
“Is that odd?” Joshua squats down and puts out his hand for Tofu to sniff.
“He doesn’t like strangers…” you say, “Or anyone.”
Joshua grins at you as Tofu practically jumps into his arms. He stands back up with the cat in his embrace before he kicks off his shoes. You glare at your cat for betraying you, but Tofu barely meets your gaze.
“He’s cute,” Joshua says. “... and hairy.”
You look at Joshua’s black suit, completely covered in white fur. Quickly, you apologize and take Tofu from him. The cat lets out an irritated meow but doesn’t fight back. When Tofu has walked away, you take Joshua’s suit jacket and hang it up. You show him around the apartment, sneaking glances at him as he rolls up the sleeves of his button-down and loosens his tie.
Eventually, the two of you found yourselves on the comfortable couch, indulging in a late-night meal created from the delicious remnants of takeout food in your refrigerator. The ambiance was soothing and unhurried, a welcome change from the earlier palpable strain. Tofu was nestled by Joshua’s side, emitting a robust and consistent purr akin to a well-oiled machine working at full capacity.
Joshua looked around your cozy apartment and then back at you. “This isn’t our first date, is it?”
You laughed softly. “It could be.”
He shook his head, smiling. “I want our first date to be special.”
You looked into his eyes, leaning over to put your hand on his knee. “It could be special if you wanted it to be.”
That’s how the two of you end up in your bedroom, with him on top of you. Joshua’s slowly thrusting into you, savoring every second. His forehead leans against yours, your hands traveling across each other’s bodies. Soft moans and gasps echo throughout the room, the noises mixing with the sounds of the bedsheets and the gentle rain against your windows.
“What are you doing to me?” Joshua sighs deeply, closing his eyes as if trying to steady himself.
“Is it really just me?” you ask playfully, although your voice tinged with uncertainty.
“It’s only you,” he reassures, his gaze meeting yours with a sincerity that cuts through the confusion.
You smile, pressing a chaste kiss on his lips. He surrounds you, embraces you, holds you, consumes you… The build-up is undeniable, and it only becomes more intense as Joshua’s hand travels between your bodies to rub lazy circles on your clit. He captures your lips in another kiss, slow and satisfactory. Whines and whimpers emanate from both of you as you near your high.
“I’m still on birth control,” you remind Joshua with a murmur against his lips.
Joshua groans at the silent promise of getting to cum inside you again. Ever since the last time he got a taste of you, he swears that he’s addicted. His hips stutter, and you clench around him to urge him closer to his release.
“Please,” he whispers hoarsely.
“Cum with me, baby,” you murmur.
Joshua releases inside of you with a moan, and your orgasm follows shortly after. A light encompasses you, flooding your veins with a kind of warmth that you’re not sure you’ve ever experienced. He stays inside of you even when his movements stop, his head finding its place in the crook of your neck. You rake your nails up his back until they find their way to the nape of his neck.
You press a kiss to his temple while you play with his hair. Joshua responds by pressing loving kisses to your neck. The two of you fall asleep just as he pulls out of you and lies down beside you under the covers.
As the gentle, golden glow of the morning sun filters through the delicate lace curtains, you slowly stir, feeling the warmth of his body and the reassuring strength of his embrace. In that soft, hushed moment, you find yourself waking up to a sense of peace and contentment that has been absent for what feels like an eternity.
As you try to get up to make breakfast, Joshua tightens his hold on you. “Don’t go,” he murmurs, his voice still heavy with sleep.
You laugh softly, kissing his forehead. “I need to get ready.”
He pouts playfully. “Stay here a little longer.”
You kiss him again, your heart full. “How about I get up if I promise to make you breakfast?”
Joshua pretends to think it over, then grins. “Deal.”
Your laughter fills the air as you rise from the bed, his warm hand gently holding onto yours just a moment longer. The morning was idyllic, brimming with shared laughter, precious moments, and the assurance of many more beautiful experiences together in the future.
As you and Joshua continue to move forward together, your journey unfolds as a delicate dance, intertwining professional ambitions with the deepening of your personal connection. Each day brings its own set of challenges, which you navigate hand-in-hand, discovering and growing through each other’s strengths and vulnerabilities.
You find solace in the way you support one another through the ebb and flow of your careers. Joshua’s unwavering faith in your potential becomes a beacon, encouraging you to reach beyond your comfort zone. In moments of self-doubt, his reassuring words and confident smile serve as a reminder of your capabilities, helping to reignite your determination.
In turn, you offer Joshua a steady anchor during his more tumultuous times. When he faces the pressure of a particularly grueling project or grapples with a professional setback, you’re there to remind him to pause and believe in his own strength. Your quiet support helps him regain his footing, providing him with the confidence to overcome the hurdles in his path.
With each shared success and challenge, your mutual respect grows deeper. Celebrating each other’s victories becomes a treasured ritual, whether it’s the joy of popping a bottle of champagne for a well-earned promotion or finding solace in each other’s company during quiet nights when things don’t go as planned. Every experience strengthens your bond, seamlessly weaving your lives together.
As you reflect on your journey, it becomes clear that embracing vulnerability and letting go of old insecurities has allowed you to discover not only love but also a profound sense of personal fulfillment. Joshua’s presence in your life has illuminated the truth that true growth often emerges from facing fears and embracing new possibilities.
One evening, curled up on the couch with Tofu nestled comfortably by your feet, you admit with a contented sigh, “I never thought I could be this happy.”
Joshua smiles warmly, his fingers gently brushing a stray strand of hair from your face. With a playful glint in his eye, he teases, “I know a few things that could make you even happier.”
“Shut up,” you reply, playfully swatting his chest.
Joshua’s laughter fills the room as he pulls you closer, enveloping you in his comforting embrace. You sigh contentedly as his familiar scent surrounds you, finding comfort in the perfect harmony of the moment. Even though you still have your moments of bickering and face the occasional rough patch like any other couple, you realize that this shared experience is as perfect as it gets.

the rain came pouring down hard and unexpectedly. you were not prepared for this at all, so you took shelter inside a cafe. you settled on waiting until the rain calmed down so you could go home.
staring at the gloomy weather made you rather gloomy as well. you never had fond memories of the rain, no dancing in the rain with your lover. instead, it was almost as if the rain brought your life some type of bad luck.
“y/n?” a male voice calls for you, causing you to turn.
your eyes widened, lips slightly parting at the person who stood in front of you.
“jaehyun?” you say lowly, low enough for the two of you to hear.
his face too changes, it’s almost like he’s trying to process it really was you who was in front of him. you took him in, noting how he hasn’t changed in the 5 years since you’d parted. in fact you’d say he got even more… hotter?
“it really is you,” he says breathlessly, to which you nod. “i-is the seat taken?” he asks as he points to the seat in front of you.
“n-no” you respond. he sits down, looking right at you.
“how have you been?” he starts off by asking.
“well… i-i suppose i’ve been fine. how about you?”
he thinks for a second before responding. “i could be better,” he says, chuckling. your heart nearly melting at the sight of his dimples, the very ones you used to adored.
he asks you more questions about how the past 5 years had gone, you too gaining insight on his past 5 years. there was never any mention if you or him were in a relationship during the past 5 years, it was almost like a forbidden topic.
you mindlessly turn to the window, noting how the rain had finally stopped but the clouds were still there. you didn’t know whether to leave mid-conversation or stay a while longer. it had been 5 years, 5 excruciating years without him… to leave him now was-
“are you going to leave?” his questions bring you back to him.
your mouth opens, then closes, and opens again but he interrupts. “don’t leave… not yet. instead, please stay with me for today y/n,” he asks.
you didn’t even hesitate, already settling on your answer before he even finished asking you. you two leave the cafe, you follow him walking alongside him under his umbrella. your head filled with the endless possibilities of how today could go and where the night would lead you.
⋆˚𝜗𝜚˚⋆⋆˚𝜗𝜚˚⋆⋆˚𝜗𝜚˚⋆⋆˚𝜗𝜚˚⋆⋆˚𝜗𝜚˚⋆
“y/n,” jaehyun whispers into your ear in a sultry tone.
your hot breath tickled his ear as your eyes interlocked with his lustful eyes. you wanted him, he wanted you. it had been so long since you’ve felt not only his touch, but a touch at all.
“can i?” he whispers as his eyes are on your lips. you nod, inviting him in.
his lips crash onto yours, melting together as they once used to. he started off gentle, almost as if he were testing the waters before involving the kiss into something more rough and filled with desire. it brought you back to the days of 5 years ago.
his hands traveled to the back of your head, tugging on your hair. his tongue fighting its way inside you until it began crashing with yours. you started feeling weak, legs almost giving out but he held you. he pressed you against the wall, body nearly melting into yours. you could feel his hardened member as it pressed against you.
you moaned into the kiss, trying to say his name. he tugged on your bottom lip, finally departing from your lips. your eyes watery, face feeling hot all over. your dazed gaze finding jaehyun’s lustful one. jaehyun groans before sinking onto his knees. you knew where this was going, so you helped him.
you began taking off your shirt, bra, and unbuttoning your jeans, taking them off. just as you were about to take off your panties, his hands stopped you. “just open your legs for me,” he says, to which you obliged.
jaehyun gives you one last look before disappearing in between your legs. you felt his lips nip and kiss on your inner thighs, making sure to mark you up. his wet tongue licks your already soaked panties, moaning when he gets a small taste of you. a taste he has been dying to have for 5 years.
sliding your panties to the side he licks your cunt up once, getting a full taste of you now. jaehyun almost swears he’s addicted to you again. “how i’ve missed this taste,” he moans, meeting your eyes again before diving back inside you.
his tongue swipes up your slit one more time before using his two thumbs to spread your pussy lips apart. he lets his tongue intrude inside your entrance, sliding against your gummy walls. you moaned rather loudly at the intrusion, tightening around his tongue. jaehyun could feel as your walls throbbed around his tongue, his cock hardening at the thought of how your cunt would feel wrapped nicely around him. jaehyun cursed himself, finding himself too impatient.
you began chanting his name, crying it out with every fucking of his tongue. he found your voice so sweet, so beautiful like a song he could hear on repeat and never get tired of. your fingers grabbed onto his soft locks of hair, grinding yourself on his face. your clit rubbing against his nose, you felt yourself reaching your end already. jaehyun knew you far too well too, knowing you were reaching your end as well. so he grips onto your thighs, fucking his tongue quicker and when he feels your walls clench around him he pulls his tongue out.
you were left on edge, whining at the loss of sensation of not being able to cum. jaehyun didn’t look up, busying himself with kitty licking your cunt. he kissed your sensitive clit, once, twice, three times. so lost you failed to notice his two digits that already worked their way along your slit.
“j-jaehyun?” you asked hazily, looking down at the male as he already stared straight at you. “wha- oh my god!” you moaned out the last part when you felt his two digits plunge inside your soaking cunt. the squelching sound echoing in the doorway, you didn’t even worry about if your neighbors heard. you were far too focused on the way his fingers fucked inside you over and over so quickly. already sensitive from his tongue, you were close to cumming again.
“i-i’m gonna c-cum!” you breathlessly groaned, biting down on your lips so as to not shout again. jaehyun had no intention of leaving you on edge again, so he fucked his fingers into you faster and deeper. he attached his lips onto your clit, toying with it. he remembered how much you loved it when he would teasingly dote on your clit. jaehyun knew your body as if it were his first language.
you let out a gasp before you finally came all over his hand and face. you hadn’t cum like that in a while, your fingers only being able to pleasure you so much. jaehyun licked you up one more time before kissing your clit. he got up, holding your body up before you could fall onto the ground. your legs were giving up already.
he shoved his soaked fingers into your mouth, your tongue licking them clean. “you did so good, love. was always such a good girl for me,” he whispers. his way of words, too, always turned you on.
when you finally licked him clean, he removed his hand from your mouth. in a split second his demeanor changes, his eyes turning more gentle. “as much as i wanna be inside you, i don’t have a condom. so-” you interrupt him. “i-it’s alright jae, please just… i wanna feel you.”
your words too turned him on, in a matter of seconds his pants and boxers were off. his aching cock standing proud. “jump,” he tells you.
you jumped, legs wrapping around his waist. your back still against the wall. his cock rubbed along your soaking slit before his leaking tip plunged into your entrance.
“fuck- you’re so tight, no one fucked this pretty pussy while i was gone?” he groans. you didn’t respond, already drunk stupidly on his cock that was snugly wrapped around your gummy walls. it had been too long since you’d taken anything like his.
your eyes widened when you felt a smack against your ass cheek. “i asked you a question, or are you too drunk already to answer,” he says in a rough tone.
“uh, ye-yes b-but they don’t c-compare to y-you!” you moaned loudly when you felt him thrust into you rougher, deeper.
jaehyun was always the jealous type when it came to you, you were his and his alone is what he thought. in his world, no one was allowed to have you, it was the one thing he regretted when you two broke up. he couldn’t fathom the fact that some filthy bastard would be able to lay his hands on you, someone as tasteful as you.
“no one could leave you satisfied, right love?” he asks you, to which you just repeatedly say no. his mouth forms into a smile before his lips find themselves on your shoulder. his lips kiss along them, traveling to your neck, and jaw before coming down to your tits.
he pecks one of your tits before wrapping his mouth around your nipple. he accidently bites on your nipple when he feels you clench around his cock. jaehyun mutters a small curse as he kisses his way to your other breast. it receives the same attention as the previous one, only that this time he doesn’t accidentally bite your nipple.
“such perfect tits… were always my favorite,” jaehyun mutters, kissing your tit before parting from it. “now then, are you ready?” he asks you.
“y-yes please fuck me, be rough like you used to,” you said desperately as you wrapped your arms around his neck.
jaehyun’s hands grip onto the bottom of your ass where he lifts you up slightly before plunging you back down on his cock, chucking at your choked out moan. you truly were the cutest, he loved you so very much.
he slides his cock in and out, out and in, of you. he groaned against your exposed neck as you repeatedly clenched around him. you couldn’t help it, jaehyun fucked you so deeper, cock reaching your womb with every thrust. it wouldn’t be long before you’d cum again.
crushing you to the wall, he secures you against it so he could maneuver one of his hands to your clit. he used his thumb to rub the poor thing, “cum, cum on my cock like the good old days love.”
and so you do, erupting around his cock that still fucked into you. you knew he wouldn’t stop until he came, so you waited, encouraging him with filthy words to get him worked up. it was doing the trick, you felt him twitch inside you.
“whe-where do you w-want me to cum?” he asks you, thrusting into you quickly, nearly at his release.
“in mmh-me!” you moaned, clenching around him. “a-are you sure?” he questions you.
“y-yes, i’ll buy a pill tomorrow– please, just please i wanna feel your warmth inside me~”
“fuck,” jaehyun curses, filling you up with his seeds. his lips crashing onto yours as you milked him of his cum.
he parts from the steamy kiss you two just shared to carry you to your bedroom. he still remember the layout of your apartment. jaehyun drops you on your bed, and you watch as he takes off his shirt, sneakily glancing at his still hardened member. your mouth is nearly drooling all the more.
“turn around, on your hands and knees love,” jaehyun says, watching as you obliged to his every word. he watched as you arched your back, ass sticking out nicely, leaking with his cum. he couldn’t resist smacking your ass, left and right roughly. you moaned against your bed comforter, clenching it tightly as you got smacked from behind. you feel his warm cum dripping down your thigh, you try clenching your entrance– jaehyun taking notice.
“how cute, trying to make sure it doesn’t slip out?” he teasingly says before jerking his cock, bringing it to your slit. he rubs against your juices and his cum before stretching your gummy walls once more. it was incomprehensible how tight you always were, just right for him– just made for him.
“how is it love? you always loved it when i took you from behind, didn’t you?” he continues to tease you. “i love it! i love your cock so much j-jae, so good~”
he gripped your hips tighter, tight enough to leave prints the next day. you felt as his tip touched your g-spot so clearly, reaching your womb with every thrust in. jaehyun watches as you begin to wiggle underneath, shaking your ass against him. he smirks, smacking your ass which jiggled from his touch.
a white ring formed around his cock, a mixture of you both. it oddly enough ignited him, fucking into you in rapid, deeper strokes. your tears and drool adorning the comforter. your tight walls hugging his cock tightly, and with one smack to your ass you came for a third time. you gushed all over his pelvis.
“good girl,” jaehyun mutters, continuing his ministrations before he too came once again. only this time he didn’t part from your pussy, fucking you in slow, gentle thrust.
by the time he finished, he laid on your bed. jaehyun was exhausted, and you were too but… you still had something up your sleeve. crawling to him you stopped on his side. “wh-what are you doin-” jaehyun gets interrupted mid-sentence when he feels your lips kiss his tip. he didn’t stop you, in fact he wanted you to continue.
you spit on his cock, jerking it as to spread your saliva along his shaft. your eyes traveling back to jaehyun who hungrily looked at you. going back to his cock you lower your head, opening your mouth so you could finally take him inside. you shoved his cock inside until the tip reached your throat, you gagged and groaned against his cock when you felt him twitch inside. staying like that for a while longer, trying to get accommodated. once you did, you started bobbing your head on his cock, using your tongue to lick along his shaft. never forgetting to tease his slit, something he loved.
you felt as one of his hands tugged on your hair, helping you to better move yourself on his cock. jaehyun was a mess, he felt blessed– praised the lords above. he tried thinking of the nastiest atrocities known to mankind as to not bust so quickly, but that proved to be an impossible task. i mean, how could he when you so beautifully wrapped your sweet mouth around his cock.
and so it wasn’t long before he came inside your mouth, your mouth feeling his warmth before swallowing it down. you now felt so full, unable to take anymore. jaehyun too, you milked him dry, taking all of him in you.
you crawled to him, laying beside him. he engulfs you into his embrace, kissing you so tenderly. you two were exhausted but for what it was worth, it wasn’t regretful. his hand strokes your back, playing with your hair. it was peaceful, so peaceful that you secretly wished for your days to be like this. you were almost lulled to sleep by jaehyun before you opened your eyes when he whispered into the quiet room.
“we’re unconditionally timeless, and so is our love.”
far too exhausted to reply back, you just smile. you snuggled into his body, melting into him before you drifted off to dreamland. however, it wasn’t until you woke up the next day and felt the cold that you knew.
jaehyun was gone, gone from your life once more. the intimate night you two shared last night, his parting gift.
there was no getting back together, no peaceful nights where the two of you lay in each other’s embrace. you cried and cried that entire morning, and silently prayed for a day where you two could reunite again. for fate to align you two again because after all…
jeong jaehyun was your first love and last love.

Summary: It’s your first short vacation with Dongmin since you started dating, and you get a chance to stay at an extremely fancy hotel in Jeju. The ocean-view suite is perfect, yet there’s a small inconvenience… or a genius design?

It was your first time taking a vacation together.
With the type of hectic schedule Dongmin had to maintain, you barely managed to book the hotel of your dreams for this weekend, which was actually your one-year anniversary. Two days was all you had, and you planned to enjoy them to the fullest, start to finish.
Which was why you’d surprised your boyfriend by appearing clad in a white sundress with a stylish wide brim hat to match. It was a simple feminine look, yet it set the mood from the start.
‘Wow, I’m suddenly looking forward to our flight…’ He smiled at you softly before murmuring, ‘You look beautiful.’
Avoiding his eyes timidly, you chewed on your lip to contain a silly grin. Dongmin took the handle of your suitcase to put it away in the trunk of the car.
‘Let’s get going, we have to be at the airport in thirty,’ Jinwoo’s voice startled you as the window on the driver’s side rolled down. ‘You’ll have a whole hour to exchange your lovey-dovey stares on the plane, children.’
‘Hyung…’ Dongmin mumbled in embarrassment, and you coughed, sliding into the backseat while your boyfriend’s palm hovered above your head protectively.
‘I’m older than you, Jinwoo-yah,’ you scolded, and he hummed in response.
‘Barely!’ He glanced in the rearview mirror, meeting your eyes, and added. ‘Noona.’
You shook your head in disapproval, and turned to Dongmin, who settled in the backseat with you and moved to buckle you up.
‘I can do it! Let’s not make Jinwoo cringe.’
‘Why would he cringe…’ Your boyfriend pouted, watching you tug at the seatbelt.
‘I’m fine unless you start the funny business,’ the leader announced nonchalantly from the front seat.
‘Have you ever caught us doing anything?’ You huffed, and the car was silent for a few long seconds. ‘Have you??’
‘Does hearing count?’ He asked, and your boyfriend’s eyes almost bulged out of his head.
‘Shut up,’ you laughed nervously, only half-assured that it was a joke.
‘It’s actually true. It was when we all stayed at the dorm for a sleepover. You rustle like mice,’ Jinwoo recalled.
‘What?? We weren’t doing anything fu-’
Dongmin’s hand suddenly squeezed your thigh, putting a stop to your protesting speech.
‘Please, just… change the subject, noona.’
~
Teasing you and Dongmin was Astro members’ favorite pastime, and you noticed from the very beginning. They simply loved making him a flustered mess. Not that you couldn’t relate – the face genius looked almost unbearably cute when embarrassed. You weren’t a stranger to teasing him yourself, just to get your fix of his adorable shy smile and his extensive nagging about how you never let him breathe.
In fact, he loved to nag. It was his way of showing affection.
‘Ah, noona… Your dress is so revealing,’ he kept whining while you were on the plane. ‘D’you know how active the sun is in Jeju? Did you apply the sunscreen thoroughly?’
‘Yes. But you can reapply it if you want an excuse to touch my chest,’ you murmured, making him flush red and lower his voice to a scandalized whisper.
‘That’s not what I meant-’
‘I’m sure it isn’t.’ You hummed, laying your head on his shoulder. ‘But I’d still let you.’
The flight from Seoul to Jeju Island was rather quick, about one hour in the air. And it seemed to be over even faster since you were too busy whispering, giggling like lovestruck teenagers, and ‘oh’-ing in excitement as you looked out the illuminator.
Going on a trip with your boyfriend was something you’d been dreaming of for months now, so your mood was through the roof from the moment you woke up. It kept gradually increasing while you were on your way to the dream destination, and reached its peak when Dongmin rented a car to drive the two of you to the hotel.
‘If anything is better than this view,’ you turned away from the window to look at your boyfriend’s relaxed form. ‘It’s probably this.’
‘What?’ He glanced at you, not catching your meaning.
‘You.’
He huffed, scolding you for being cheesy.
‘What, I’ve told you this before! You look most handsome either when you’re driving or when your hair gets wet.’
‘I shall try driving with wet hair someday. Will that make you explode?’
‘Is that your goal?’ You asked, tracing your index finger down the side of his neck, which made him squirm.
‘Stop it, you know I’m ticklish…’
‘You’re not ticklish, you’re sensitive.’ You corrected, running the pads of your fingers over his skin again to make him shudder. ‘So, who’s exploding now?’
He gave you a reproachful look, and you chuckled, pinching his cheek to annoy him further.
‘Why do you have to be so shameless, noona…’
‘Don’t you love that about me?’ You asked playfully.
‘I do,’ he was quick to admit. ‘I love everything about you.’
Caught off guard by his sudden confession, you fell silent. Dongmin didn’t say things like this often, he was a bit reserved about his feelings. You actually recalled that he’d only said ‘the three words’ twice in the span of your relationship. And on one of those occasions he was actually drunk, so… yeah. He was strangely tight-lipped about it for the romantic that he was.
But you’d learned to accept it. You wouldn’t push him to do something he didn’t want to or wasn’t ready to do. So, you just said nothing before your hotel was finally visible.
‘This is great, we can just drop everything and head out to the beach! I’m living for this weather,’ you said, clapping your hands in excitement.
Dongmin nodded in agreement.
As expected, the hotel was splendorous. You noticed that while your boyfriend was checking you in. Taking those few minutes to look around, you found yourself ogling the crystal-clear glass constructions that separated the lobby and the waiting area. The outer wall was also steel and glass, so you could enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Jeju even from there.
‘Let’s go,’ a low voice called, and you followed the tall figure to the elevator.
You really wanted to give him a back hug as he pressed the button, but decided to at least wait until you were on your floor.
Dongmin took your suitcase, which made you pout, unable to hold his hand.
‘I think it’s here,’ he guided you to the door and used the card to open it. ‘After you.’
And there went your plan to give him a back hug. Up in flames.
You sighed and stepped into the room.
‘Oh!’ You exclaimed, rushing to get rid of your outdoor shoes in favor of slippers. ‘Let’s check the view! Come on!’
Surprised by your eagerness, your boyfriend shook his footwear off as well, reaching out his hand to allow you to tug him towards the balcony.
‘Oh my god, this is even better than I expected!’ You squealed, almost jumping in excitement, and squeezed his palm. ‘My hands are itching to take pictures! Come on, lean on this railing.’
Knowing better than to argue with you, he did exactly as he was told, and posed for you.
‘Ah, so handsome,’ you kept repeating, while preserving this moment in the form of a photograph.
Dongmin lost his patience in about a minute, pulling you closer to his body.
‘Are you interested in the view or in spending time with me?’
‘I see you every other day, and it’s my first time in Jeju, of course I’m interested in the view!’ You exclaimed. ‘Especially when you’re making it even better.’
He allowed you to kiss away his pout, and held you close for a selfie.
‘No, my head looks too big like this!’
You jumped in place to reach the phone, because your partner refused to take likable pictures.
‘I got it, I got it,’ he assured you, angling it to make the two of you look disproportionate again.
When you pinched him angrily, he laughed in the cheekiest way possible, begging for mercy instantly.
At least then you’d managed to finally take presentable photos.
Leaving you to admire the ocean some more, Dongmin headed back inside to unpack your belongings. You needed to change into your swimsuits if you wanted to enjoy the rest of the day on the beach.
‘Uh- noona?’
‘Mhm?’
‘Did you… see that?’
His voice sounded confused, so you followed it back into the room.
‘See wha- Omo! Is this..?’
You turned to your boyfriend, who denied you eye contact.
‘Glass bathroom.’ He noted blankly, without showing what his actual feelings about it were.
Was he shy? Anxious? Excited? Uncomfortable? You couldn’t decipher his expression for the life of you.
‘Yeah,’ you agreed.
It was a simple yet exquisite design, no one could argue that it looked good. But the problem was that the bathroom here had no wall separating it from the main bedroom space. Which could only mean…
‘Well, I’m sure we’ll manage,’ you shrugged, walking past Dongmin to find your change of clothes. ‘Get your swimwear out while I change. And don’t peek!’
He grumbled under his breath and you snickered faintly. Damn, you were going to have to face the bathroom issue at some point today. And you should mentally prepare.
It wasn’t on your mind for long though.
As soon as you hit the beach… The beautiful clear sky, the warm sand under your bare feet, the lagoon blue water – all of it occupied your head and made you forget all of the possible inconveniences.
‘Don’t swim away,’ Dongmin nagged, stretching out his arms to reach you.
‘Why, scared of going in deep water?’ You teased him, splashing him lightly with your foot.
‘Noona,’ he sulked, and you allowed the waves to push you towards your boyfriend.
As soon as you were within his reach again, he pulled you closer to his body, not caring too much about the spectators.
‘What now, giant baby?’
‘Don’t call me that,’ Dongmin murmured, and you instantly knew he wanted a kiss.
‘There’s too many people, Min-ah,’ you responded, placing your palm on his chest, covered by the soaked white fabric of his tee.
‘Just once,’ he badgered, stepping closer to you.
Of course, his feet were still grounded where you were floating.
‘Why should I?’ You feigned a complaining tone, glancing at his plump lips.
‘Because.’
Dongmin’s hands seized you by the waist, and your forearms prickled with goosebumps.
Staying still while he leaned in and pressed his lips to yours, you’d allowed him to steal this quick kiss before swimming away again.
You had literally spent all day in the water, taking short breaks to let your wrinkled skin get back to normal. And reapply sunscreen again, of course, with your boyfriend being a total worrywart.
‘I don’t want you to get sunburnt. Your skin is so fair and delicate, it’s important to make sure it’s protected. Did you know getting sunburned increases your chances of skin cancer?’
A worrywart and a smartass.
It was hard to be mad at his smart (and round) ass though, when he had brilliant ideas like tonight. Dongmin had suggested ordering a fancy dinner to your room and having it on your balcony to enjoy the view.
‘Wah, the sunset is perfect today,’ you said.
‘Your dress goes well with it. Very chic and minimalistic.’ His eyes followed the curve of your waist down to your thigh.
‘I’ve had it forever, but I have no clue where else to wear a red silk gown.’
‘Don’t.’ Dongmin’s cheeks and lips were both red from the wine. ‘Only wear it for me, noona.’
Chuckling, you rose from your seat and stepped closer to your boyfriend. Using just your index finger, you tipped his head up to meet his eyes, and then you put your right knee onto his chair, right between his thighs.
‘Are you telling me what to do now, aegi?’ You asked, enjoying the sensation of his gentle fingers ghosting over your thighs.
‘It’s your decision, but why would you deny me this request?’ His hand became more confident, creeping up your bare skin now. ‘Are you hungry for someone else’s attention?’
‘How drunk are you, Dongmin-ah?’ You asked, brushing your lips against his. ‘Because it seems like you could do something right here, where people might see us.’
Straightening up, you smiled angelically at him.
‘We need to shower and cool off. I’m pretty sure I have sand where it shouldn’t be.’
It was obvious that he was disappointed, but the night was young, and to fully enjoy the experience you had to sober up a little. But it was nothing a quick shower couldn’t fix.
‘You go first, I’ll get rid of the dishes. Don’t argue,’ you cut him off, nodding at the entrance to your room. ‘Go.’
It took you only a few minutes to tidy up, so when you walked in Dongmin was just starting out. The water was on, and he was in front of the glass door, almost ready to step in.
The realization hit you right then. You were going to see all of it. And you didn’t hate the idea.
You’d watched, as if in slow motion, how your boyfriend shoved his underwear down, revealing his plump butt, and got into the bath. Feeling no shame whatsoever, you stood your ground, staring at his bare back.
The water hit his body, languidly running down his smooth skin like a dozen forest streams. From where you were standing you could see the enticing flex of his muscles and the breathtaking curve of his waist. As he leaned in to wet his hair, you pressed a palm to your mouth. This slight voyeurism was making you quite… hot. And bothered.
Swallowing hard, you took a step towards him. You were a bit uneasy with the thought of how he might react. At least you’d hoped that he wouldn’t consider you a complete pervert. But you couldn’t resist the obvious temptation; it was most likely what this bathroom was built for. After all, you still owed him a back hug in your mind from earlier… Surely, he wouldn’t mind that you decided to give it to him now, you thought.
Easily sliding your dress and underwear off, you stopped in front of the glass that was getting foggy already.
‘Dongmin-ah,’ you called, opening the glass door to join him. ‘Noona doesn’t have to wait, does she?’
There was no way you could get a coherent response to your question as your hands wrapped around him and your cheek pressed to his shoulder blade. You felt him freeze for a moment, probably startled by your actions, and then he sighed under his breath.
‘What are you up to now? I thought you wanted me to cool off.’
‘Did you now?’ You hummed, pressing a quick succession of kisses along his spine. ‘Would you like me to stop?’
He pressed his palm to the wall in order to maintain his balance under the attack of your tantalizing hands.
‘No.’
Snaking your hand down to cup his balls, you smiled at his gasp of surprise.
‘That’s what I thought.’
With your body pressed so tightly to his, you didn’t even think twice before grinding on his ass and urging him to moan out loud as your fingers wrapped around his semi-hard penis.
‘Noona…’ He gritted, glutes flexing against your pelvis impatiently. ‘What are you doing…’
‘You don’t like it?’
Dongmin glanced at you over his shoulder before turning to face you. His hands gripped your sides and pushed you into him.
‘Were you watching me this entire time?’ He scolded in his low, velvety voice.
‘It was just a couple minutes,’ you defended weakly and wrapped your arms around his neck, ready to purr as his palms stroked up and down your back.
‘I see.’
You stood like that for a few moments, soaking in the warmth of your entangled bodies while the water splashed you from the side.
‘Didn’t you mention having sand in places it shouldn’t be?’ He murmured, hands dipping lower to squeeze your ass. ‘Want some help with that?’
‘How naughty,’ you snickered, messing up his wet hair even further. ‘Would you rather help me clean up, or...?’
‘Or.’
He responded in a heartbeat, gripping you tight before lifting you up to settle you in the bathroom wall niche.
‘But I can always do both,’ he said, readjusting the shower head to splash you with water again.
You squealed and dragged him in the line of fire as well. Inevitably in ten seconds you were both properly soaked.
‘There was no need to get my hair wet. You look sexy like this, and I look like I need to use a hairdryer real bad.’
He ignored your complaints, leaning close and nearly grazing your lips. With your eyes shut, you waited a few seconds but nothing happened.
‘Were you expecting a kiss?’ He grinned in your face, eyes crinkling in mischief. ‘Aw, what a tiny baby…’
Recalling your earlier interactions in the water, you rolled your eyes at him.
‘So, this is your revenge?’ You asked, not resisting as he wrapped your legs around his waist to move even closer. ‘I don’t find it fair since I did let you kiss me. In public.’
He huffed in response to your statement.
‘You call that a kiss?’
Dongmin’s lips suddenly found yours, and you couldn’t avoid the contact. Tilting your head back you hit the tiled surface, but, thankfully, your boyfriend could predict this move. His palm on the back of your head cushioned the hit, and you could only squeak in surprise, parting your lips invitingly.
He wasn’t the type to waste an opportunity like that. And once Dongmin’s tongue was in your mouth, there was no point in fighting him. Your partner was a little too good at French kissing, and you could easily admit to being hopelessly weak to his talent. He was also a toucher, so whenever a makeout session started, his hands would be all over you.
Moaning as he squeezed your breast gently, you pushed against his chest to break the kiss. Your lips were moist, and you were sure it wasn’t because of the water still running, and you licked them in a failed attempt to gather your thoughts together. Dongmin used your momentary struggle to tease you.
‘That is what I call a kiss, noona. You know this.’
You gulped, trying to think of a good comeback. At this point, you really just wanted to surrender. But him being smug about it was an obstacle: you had no intention of pleasing his ego with instant capitulation.
Grabbing a handful of his hair, you pulled hard. His head whipped back, and you didn’t think twice before latching onto his neck hungrily.
Dongmin’s grunt was the single sexiest thing in the entire situation, not even the sight of his broad shoulders that you were holding onto right now or his curvaceous butt that you loved so much could compete with the sound he produced. It was both surprised and pained, loud and husky with pleasure. You could tell he was conflicted about it just from the way his fingers dug into the skin of your sides, almost scratching at your ribcage, while his cock twitched, pressed between your bodies. He needed to get you off of himself but did he want to?
Pulling away from his flushed neck, you tugged at his hair again just to hear him groan beautifully before he used his strength to tear your hand away from his hair.
‘Noona. You know how heavily it bruises,’ he rubbed his neck with the pads of his fingers. ‘Why would you?’
‘On a scale from one to ten,’ you murmured, brushing wet hair out of his eyes. ‘How much did you hate it?’
You touched the tender skin of his neck, just where the redness was growing, and his breath seemed to get shakier.
‘…s-seven,’ he mumbled.
‘Mm?’
Dongmin cleared his throat, staring at you through his dark eyelashes.
‘Three point seven,’ he offered this time, and you couldn’t help but smile.
‘That’s more like it,’ you hummed, finding his frowning lips in a quick peck.
Meanwhile, he reached down to wrap his fingers around his rock-solid cock to guide it where you both wanted it.
‘Ough-’ You gasped as he bottomed out in one go. ‘Don’t be impatient.’
Your boyfriend’s hips didn’t slow down one bit, although his next thrust seemed slightly more careful. He loved you but he was also damn stubborn.
The glass wall behind Dongmin was getting cloudier from the hot water, which you didn’t hate. The enclosed space seemed snugger now that you were isolated from your surroundings in a way, holding so tightly onto each other. Your skin was slippery under your partner’s fingers, yet he made sure to secure you in his arms. He liked to make it known that once he got you, he wasn’t letting go.
‘Mm- Dongmin-ah,’ you moaned, clutching his shoulder to ground yourself as he kept thrusting quickly.
‘There,’ he finished for you, already knowing what you wanted to express from the way that you tightened around him.
‘Yes, fuck-’
‘Don’t you wish you were more compliant earlier?’ He chuckled darkly, knowing damn well his hips were steadily pushing you towards your release.
The curses you muttered only spurred him on. He got fired up easily, and wanted nothing more than to see and hear you come undone. Especially when he felt he was denied something – like access to your body.
‘I’m… so close, Min-ah, please- You feel so good.’
You knew he liked to stay in control, so instead of bickering with him mid-sex, you just let him know how great he was at what he was doing. A tiny smile that he couldn’t contain revealed that he was pleased with the option you decided to take. With that, he got slightly more determined and aggressive in his thrusting. Patience was not the virtue that he possessed, so you simply closed your eyes, focused on the grind of your bodies.
‘God, I love you so much,’ he gritted, letting out a curse under his breath.
The words were muffled, but you heard them loud and clear. A pleasant shiver ran down your spine, and you moaned, muscles clenching around his cock. The smooth sensation of his length sliding in and out of you made your legs start to tremble.
‘Dongminie-’ You wailed as his hips kept up the brutal pace that brought you to your release so quickly.
He was still going fast and strong while you yelped, on the verge of pushing him away.
‘I’m there, I’m there… Y/N! Agh-’
Dongmin’s voice reverberated from the walls, not even absorbed by the thickened fog around you that you barely noticed. He groaned loudly as he came, and your pussy quivered while you took all of what he was giving you.
Resting his forehead in the crook of your neck to get a breather, he ran his hands up and down your damp waist. You allowed him a moment to gather his strength, finding his slumped shoulders and stroking them along with his back. There were still butterflies in your stomach – either from your recent orgasm, or from him sneaking in the words you cherished so much, or both.
His hands soon reciprocated.
‘Dammit.’ He cursed, turning his head to kiss your neck that was in close proximity. ‘I feel like I could go again.’
The announcement made you squirm. Going several rounds was more than fine with you, but the bathroom wasn’t really suited for his appetites. You could barely hold your balance on wet tile, and it was also getting too hot and humid for your taste.
‘Are you cold?’ He asked, breaking you out of your thoughts.
You realized his palm was slowly caressing your back, feeling almost scorching against your skin.
‘Not too cold. But I’d still prefer to continue after we finish the shower.’ You suggested, hoping that he wasn’t dead set on milking the bathroom thing further.
‘Noona needs to lie down. I got it.’
You were both grateful and annoyed at his answer.
‘Noona can very well be on top if someone lets her.’
He quickly let you down from the niche you were occupying. Just to remind you how much taller and broader than you he was, for sure.
‘Someone prefers to have noona underneath. Nice and pliable.’
‘It has to be your way, doesn’t it?’
You exchanged naughty chuckles.
‘Come on. Haven’t you been imagining exactly this since the moment you saw the bathroom area? I’m not entirely convinced it was my way just now.’
‘Oh well. I guess I’ll have to convince you once we get to the bedroom.’
‘Who said I wanted to relocate?’ He asked, eyes narrowing at you cunningly.
You were positive that next time you should go for a glass jacuzzi to get the best of both worlds. It’s bigger, warmer, comfier… And still see-though. And hot as hell.
Dongmin snorted, inspecting the pensive expression on your face.
‘I’ll give you a five-second head start to reach the bed. If I catch you on the way… We’re doing it here.’
In any other situation you would’ve called him out for his childishness. This time, however…
You were out the glass door in a heartbeat.

A Kiss, and then a Bite (4) - Choi Soobin X Reader
Tumblr media
Warning: vampire bites, bloodsucking, mature content, minors dni! angst, cursing
Summary: You knew something was off about your roommate Soobin ever since the beginning of your living arrangement. One night he reveals his true self to you, and you know you can never go back to how things were before. Not that you would want to, anyway.
Word Count: 3.7k
*cross-posted on ao3
part one! part two! part three!
Song: Emergency Contact by Pierce The Veil
Everything was fucked, you decided as you got ready for class.
A few days ago you told Soobin you would become one of his donors. You couldn’t even blame the alcohol, because even though the hangover you suffered the next morning assured you that you had been far gone, you would’ve said yes sober. There was something so incredibly alluring about Soobin that drew you in like no one ever had before. His normally deep, brown eyes were like a pit you could easily fall into if you stared into them for too long. But when you had seen them turn red during that fateful night a month ago, it was a whole new level of attraction. His small smile when he greeted you at home, and his wide smile when you made him laugh, were both enough to make your heart flutter. But more than anything, it was as if he had an aura of seduction around him that made him feel perfect for you in every way.
Your hairbrush got caught on a small knot and it made you wince. You knew it was dangerous to think that way. Perfect for you? Until recently the two of you could’ve been considered acquaintances at best. But with how quickly your relationship with him was changing it was hard to make your feelings seem casual.
Was it a crush, or merely lust?
When you grabbed your bag and pushed your bedroom door open you saw Soobin sitting in the living room. The memory of him lightly kissing your jaw filled your brain and you quickly looked away from him.
“Are you heading to class?”
You nodded. “We’re reviewing for the final today.”
There was a few moments of silence before he spoke. “Y/N.”
You pulled your gaze away from the floor to look at him. He looked oddly serious before he gave you a soft smile. One of those smiles that made you question everything about whether you could be normal around him.
“Are you free tonight?”
“Tonight?”
His voice was gentle like he was scared to alarm you. “It’s Tuesday.”
The implication of those two words washed over you quickly. It made a shiver run down your spine.
“Oh.”
More silence, then, “There’s no pressure Y/N. I can call someone else.”
The idea of someone else coming to do what you had been begging for made your insides feel like they were twisting. Why had you been nearly begging anyway? Where was your pride?
But pride be damned, you wanted it to be you.
“No, I’m free.” Feeling incredibly awkward about it, you added, “You can count on me.”
You groaned inwardly, annoyed with how stiff you sounded, but you had made him laugh his pretty laugh. So maybe it was a win.
“Okay. Have a good class.”
With that, he got up and left to his room, and you retreated to the front door to make your way to school.
-
Going to class might have been pointless. The entire time your nerves were buzzing at the thought of returning home. Your body couldn’t decide if you were excited or terrified, and your mind had no luck in deciphering it either. However pointless it seemed, you still stumbled through your routine of classes and studying with Yeonjun at the library.
You stood now in front of the door of your apartment. You couldn’t will your hand to put the key in the lock, because as much as you had been horrendously needy the last time you thought you might’ve been bitten by Soobin, there was still a sense of fear. Whether that was the innate fear of being prey to something beyond your imagination or fear of the more human aspect of changing your relationship with him once again, it didn’t matter. Fear still lived in your bones at the thought of what might happen.
“Y/N? Why are you standing out here?”
You moved out of Soobin’s way to allow him to unlock the door. There was your push, you think.
“Long day. I think I was mentally loading for a second.”
After following him inside, you made your way toward your room intending to mentally prepare, but he gently placed a hand on your arm to stop you. “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah.” You mentally cursed at yourself for the crack in your voice, then turned to face him. “Yeah. Finals are coming up, so it’s a little stressful right now.”
He furrowed his brow slightly. “Should we raincheck tonight then? So you can relax, or study?”
“No.” You spoke a little too quickly. “We can still… you know,” you trailed off.
Keeping your composure wasn’t normally this hard. It’s not like you were naive or easily embarrassed. Something about him brought out this uncool part of you that was starting to get on your nerves.
“Okay, as long as you're comfortable. That’s what’s important to me.”
He released your arm from his light grasp, and when he was pulling away you noticed the large gift bag in his other hand. Soobin’s gaze followed yours fixed on the bag, then he was suddenly holding it out to you.
“What is it?”
You looked back to his face. His expression was sincere. “One of the perks I told you about.”
After taking the bag, you half spoke and half whispered. “Thank you.”
He smirked. “You haven’t even opened it yet. What if you hate it?”
You pulled the small black tote out from the gift bag. It had a simple, plush pattern sewn on the outside and a golden emblem attached to the side that read ‘DIOR’.
“You got me a designer bag?”
He took the gift bag from you so you could properly hold the tote bag. He watched as you ran your hands over it in disbelief.
“You don’t like it?”
“It’s not that, it’s really nice.” Compared to the purse you normally carried that was beaten to hell and back, this was a massive upgrade. You inspected the Dior emblem, and it weighed heavily on you. “Is it really okay for me to have this?”
“It’s as thanks, of course it’s okay.” It seemed he read your mind when he spoke again, “Don’t worry about the price tag. I wanted you to have this.”
You tore your gaze away from the bag and smiled at him. “Thank you. I’ll cherish it.”
His smile mirrored yours, and you realized in that moment all the fear and awkwardness you felt before had melted away. Soobin was kind, and thoughtful. Was there any reason to be scared?
After putting your things away in your room, you returned to the living room and joined him in sitting on the couch.
“So what now? How does this work?”
“Be specific. How does what work?”
“You’re always in your room. What do you usually do with your donors? Other than doing that.”
He laughed quietly. “Doing that? Firstly, if we are going to enter this type of relationship you need to be comfortable talking about it, and comfortable with me.”
You straightened your back a little. “I’m comfortable with you.”
He leaned toward you slightly. “Really? You always seem on edge around me.”
You sighed. “The idea of you makes me nervous, but when I’m actually with you it feels natural. Maybe because we’ve already lived with each other for so long.”
Soobin leaned back into the couch. “I’m kind of used to people being nervous when they learn what I am. I don’t remember a lot of what it was like being human, but I can imagine the thought of something like me being kind of scary.”
Scared you offended him you quickly tried to correct him. “I don’t get nervous because I’m afraid of you.” His face revealed he wasn’t convinced, so you continued. “Maybe there’s a small part of me deep inside that is afraid because you’re a vampire, but Soobin, I know you wouldn’t hurt me.”
He simply stared at you for a few moments before sitting up. “How can you be so sure?”
You saw something in his eyes in that moment you hadn’t seen before. Soobin, who was usually confident and self-assured, seemed nervous. He looked as if he was worried to hear your answer. You had to make him feel assured once again.
“I’m supposed to believe that the guy who took care of me when I was drunk and wouldn’t take advantage of me would somehow hurt me? If you were as dangerous to me as you are implying, wouldn’t you have already done something already? In all the time we’ve lived together?”
He looked down at his hands in his lap and you saw a small grin twitch onto his face. “You’re right.” He looked at you and grabbed one of your hands with his. “Thank you for believing in me.”
You looked at where his hand held yours. He was always so gentle when he touched you, even the first time when he drank your blood. He had been so angry, so cold with his words, but his touch was always kind and inviting.
You joked, “You haven’t given me a reason not to, not yet.”
“I won’t.” You looked up at his face. His expression was determined, and his eyes sparkled like they always did in these moments with him. “I promise I won’t.”
The air between you had turned serious too quickly, and you weren’t ready for him to feed. Then there was the possibility of the evening already being over, so you deflected.
“You still haven’t told me what you and the donors do.”
His thumb rubbed small circles on your hand. “This, basically. We hang out, talk, and then I take some blood. It’s casual.”
You thought this might be an opportunity to learn about him. “Can I ask you some stuff then?”
“Fire away.”
“Do you need to breathe? If you’re, like, immortal anyway? How does that work?”
“We don’t need to breathe, but wouldn’t it be off-putting to humans around us if we didn’t?” You nodded, and he continued. “I’d say it’s partly an old habit from our human lives, and partly so we’re not found out.”
The information was processing in your mind. “So far you just seem like a human who drinks blood from others sometimes.”
“We need to feed, and not just sometimes or when we feel like it. We become weak without it.”
“So do all vampires have donors?”
His expression hardened slowly into something sad. “The vampires that are considered civilized. There are some who still take forcefully from victims without consent, but those types are dying out. Most of us realized there needs to be an understanding on both sides.”
You felt at that moment you had made a mistake, so you changed the subject. “What was your life like before you turned?”
He looked at you with such a tenderness it made your stomach do flips. “I had dreams.”
Your breath felt caught. “Dreams of what?”
“When I was very young I wanted to be a painter. I wanted to paint portraits for important people and live off my art.” He laughed, “I guess us creative types seem to gravitate towards each other.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, you want to be a writer, don’t you?”
“I do, but I’m not done asking about you yet.”
He laughed even more. “I guess since we already established that I’m a Y/N expert, I’ll let you keep asking the questions.”
“You said you had dreams. What about now?”
He calmed down from his laughter but still smiled at you. “It’s hard to keep having dreams when you’ve been around for so long. You get numb to existing.”
“So what you’re saying is you need to find a new dream?”
He shook his head. “Didn’t you hear me? I’ve kind of given up on having dreams. I do what I want and I quit whenever it gets boring.”
Soobin’s hand still held yours, so you gave him a light squeeze. “What if I help you find one?”
He raised his eyebrows. “Why would you do that?”
You raised your eyebrows in return. “We’re friends now, aren’t we? Or something like that?”
He regained his composure. “I’d say we’re friends.”
“Then can I ask you something kind of serious?”
“Sure.”
You took a deep breath. It wasn’t like you wanted to bring up a painful memory, but curiosity was bugging you. “What happened when you turned? Why did it happen?”
He looked down at where your hands met. His smile didn’t falter, but you could tell from his voice there was a melancholic feel to it. “Just like with humans, there are vampires with evil natures. Not everyone can be good. Back in the early 1800s, there was a movement of random turning.” Sensing where this story was headed, your blood ran cold. “They felt they were superior, and rather than living in the shadows of humanity, they wanted forcefully turn as many humans as possible.”
You couldn’t hide the emotion in your voice. “Why?”
He looked into your eyes with an unreadable emotion. His hand that wasn’t holding yours reached out to softly rub your arm and shoulder.
“Revenge. Out of bitterness. To raise the vampire population. There were many reasons. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
“What about your family?”
His hand stopped on your shoulder. His eyes seemed flooded with memories, and his head was preoccupied as he answered. Seeing him like this shook something inside you like you’d never felt before. It was as if his sadness washed over you in waves.
“I never saw them again after that night.”
You felt a tear run down your cheek before you could realize you were crying for him. His hand on your shoulder moved to wipe the few tears that had fallen.
“Soobin, I’m so sorry.”
“Why are you crying, Y/N? I’m okay now, aren’t I? I’ve been at peace with it for so long now.”
“But-”
He pulled you into a hug. Your mind went blank and all your emotions halted in place.
“No buts. I can look back at my time with my family fondly. And as much as they get on my nerves, I have my clan of vampires now to rely on.” He stroked your hair. “So really, I’m okay.”
You felt ridiculous for crying, but you couldn’t help it. When you pictured what might’ve happened to him that night, what was taken away from him for no reason, it hurt you deeply. You hurt for him.
After he had held you for a minute, you pulled back. Your tears had stopped and light embarrassment at the situation set in.
“I’m sorry for asking and then acting like this.”
“It’s okay, don’t apologize.” He rested one hand on your cheek. “Why should you be sorry for feeling for me? I’m thankful for it.”
Before you could stop yourself, you leaned into his icy touch. In the back of your mind, you wondered if friends were supposed to be this intimate with each other. “Why are you comforting me? It’s your pain.”
“Maybe it is.” His face was so close to yours that it made his cold breath tickle your nose. “But you’re sharing it with me. And that makes me happy beyond words.”
Before you could think or say anything else, he used his other hand to slowly push you down onto the couch. The action flipped a switch inside you. Your tears were still drying, but your stomach began doing flips for a different reason. You were anticipating the feel of his fangs.
“I don’t know if it's the way you seem to care for me, or the way you react to my touch, or maybe it’s being next to you for this long the smell is starting to drive me crazy, but I don't want to wait anymore.” If your attention wasn’t so intensely focused on his face you would’ve missed his eyes slowly turning a deep shade of red. But you didn’t.
“I can’t wait anymore.”
He supported himself with one hand placed by your head and used his other to lightly hold your jaw. His eyes were mesmerizing. You watched intently how his eyelashes fluttered when we slowly blinked.
He lowered himself to bring his face close to yours once again. “Y/N.”
You could hear in your voice how breathless you were. “Yes?”
“Last time I did this, I didn’t do it right.”
His nose traced a line across the side of your jaw and down your neck, and when he hit your shoulder he inhaled deeply. Your nerve endings were on fire, and every atom of your skin touched by his melded together and vibrated.
“I need you to tell me it’s okay for me to do this.”
Finally, fangs met your neck and grazed you deliciously. You wanted to savor the feeling, but it was torture. On the precipice of pleasure, you called to him. “Soobin, please.”
The fangs were gone instantly. Instead, his lips pressing onto you. Kissing, then his tongue. Licking. Your legs trembled, and you were sure if you had been standing you would have fallen. But you were laying beneath him and completely at his will.
“Say yes.” His hand that was on your jaw had moved to hold the back of your head. He leaned back slightly to look into your eyes. “Tell me you want me to feed from you.”
Your mind was a whirling mess. Pride was abandoned long ago, and if he wanted you to ask even if it was a given, you’d do it. You’d do it over and over.
“Yes.” You reached up and put both your hands behind his neck. Pulling him closer, you answered him. “Please, have my blood. I’m yours.”
Soobin lowered his head once more. “You’re mine?” His breathy laugh reverberated in your head. Finally, you felt his fangs again. They faintly scratched a path slowly from your shoulder to the middle of your neck. “I like the sound of that.”
Without hesitating now, he sunk his teeth fully into you. The feeling of his cold teeth in contrast to the warm blood beginning to pool and spill at the wound was heavenly. Your mouth betrayed you, and you moaned. Not that you could make yourself be embarrassed in the moment, it’d be impossible. The pleasure building and building at the feel of this bite was overwhelming. It was like you could only focus on the feeling, but you weren't focusing on anything at all.
It was over earlier than you had expected. He had retracted his fangs from you, and before you could comprehend the loss, his lips met your skin again. The pressure that had built was threatening to explode in a flash of passionate sucking and touching. He moved his hand that had been supporting himself and his body weight crushed you. He used it now to grab at your waist.
The combination of his weight on you and his lips at your neck was becoming all too much. His hand moved up and down your side effectively feeling you up. His other hand gripped harder in your hair as his sucking became more eager. You felt him quietly moan onto your skin, and you couldn’t hold back any longer. Your hands raked down his back viciously as you let go. The pressure snapped, and pleasure flooded all your senses at once. Every sense was flooded by only him.
When he slowly pulled away from your neck, it finally hit you how lightheaded you were. However, you couldn’t be sure if it was from the loss of blood or from what was probably in the top ten orgasms you’d ever had in your life. Then it dawned on you.
An orgasm.
There was no way he hadn’t noticed, but his face didn’t give anything way. He only stared intently at you, eyes dark and intent, and your blood smeared around his lips. The sound of your own heavy breathing as you came down only made you feel more horrified at the situation.
He sensed your discomfort. “Are you feeling okay?”
Better than okay, yet mortified all the same. “I’m a little woozy.”
“Let me heal the wound, and then I’ll get you something to help.”
“Heal the wound?”
He didn’t say anything, but quickly dipped his head back down and licked the bite. Your first instinct was to protest his touch, as you were incredibly embarrassed by what had happened already, but just as fast as he had done it he was already climbing off of you.
You didn’t watch but heard his footsteps headed toward his room. Reaching up to feel your neck confirmed there was no swelling or agitation from the bite. The lack of a mark from him made you feel slightly disappointed.
When he returned he had a small bottle of apple juice and a pack of peanut butter crackers in his hands. He placed them on the table in front of the couch and then helped you sit up.
As he was moving to sit next to you, his phone on the table began to buzz. You looked instinctively at the sound.
Caroline.
Quickly looking away from the phone and at his face, you could see how annoyed he looked. It buzzed for a few more moments before he picked it up. “I’m sorry, I have to take this.”
At your nod, he went to his room to take the call. Minutes passed, and as you ate your snack you wondered if you were supposed to be waiting for him. Was it customary for there to be any more conversation with a donor after the deed was done? Or was this your sign to leave to your room?
It was your phone this time with a single buzz on the table that broke your thoughts. An Instagram notification. You didn’t recognize the username.
You don’t know what you’ve gotten yourself into. We should meet up. I can help you.

i look good on you
pairing: producer!woozi x producer!YN word count: 965 synopsis: it's been months since you and woozi broke up, surrounded by a series of strange circumstances, but you haven't stopped thinking of each other and it shows. themes: exes to reconciliation, angst-lite, i stan poppi she's a laugh riot. lyrics borrowed from paper - kenzie and deny - monsta x.
a/n: i promise i'm working on 'room for interpretation', but that ad for 'paper' keeps popping up while i watch abbot elementary and it's stuck in my head.
Tumblr media
“Hey Poppi, one sec?” you pulled your headphones off and walked into the recording booth.
“Sorry, it’s not right is it?” the singer looked up at you apologetically.
“Hey, you’re okay!” you smiled encouragingly at the young singer. “You sound great, it’s just…this song is about longing for someone that you aren’t with anymore. It should be more…heartbreaking.”
“I’ve never experienced that before,” she shrugged, making a funny face at you.
“Hmm,” you nodded, trying to think of how to describe the tone you were after.
“She looks good on paper, but I look good on you”
You sang briefly for her, stretching the syllables out in a slightly exaggerated fashion.
“A little more strain on the vocals. Like your voice is about to break, but you’re managing to keep it together.”
You nodded enthusiastically as she tried again. Much better.
You smiled happily as you watched another clip of Poppi’s interview. The song you’d produced for her had really taken off and she'd been doing such a good job with all of the press. For such a fresh new talent, you were really impressed with her and hoped to work with her again.
“Oh oh oh! Here it is! YN’s new song!” Hoshi screamed excitedly when the ad came on.
Jihoon’s head turned automatically at the sound of your name. Even though it’d been months since you’d broken up, he still couldn’t seem to help himself. He had been trying his best not to keep tabs on you, but he had heard through the grapevine that you’d been working with Poppi on their new album. He hadn’t had the heart to listen to it yet, but he was happy to see the success that she'd been having.
When the song came to an end, all eyes were on him.
“What?” he asked gruffly.
“Did you hear that?” Hoshi screamed. “Were you listening to the lyrics?”
“What?” Jihoon’s brow furrowed. Truth be told, he’d been too wrapped up in his own thoughts to really digest the lyrics.
“Hold on actually,” Hoshi started typing furiously on his phone. He brought his hand to his mouth dramatically. “We’re gonna leave because you need to listen to this. Alone.”
Jihoon did nothing to stop them, because he liked being alone more than most things. It was probably an hour more before he caved and played Poppi’s new song on his speakers.
‘My friends saw you with her
Then I saw the pictures’
Jihoon’s heart stopped.
‘No one moves on that fast’
He leaned back in his chair and pressed the heels of his palms to his eyes, thinking furiously. He tried to line up dates in his head. No.
He wanted to call you. Explain the situation because he now understood how it would have looked from your perspective, but what the hell could he even say?
“Sorry YN, the members all coordinated shenanigans that week because Vernon was having a dating scandal?”
Somehow he didn’t think that would cut it.
Your eyebrows raised as you read the headline. ‘Fans react to Producer Woozi dropping a surprise track’. You burned with curiosity, but it would have to wait until later. Today you were recording with Poppi again. Her label had been so pleased with the success of Paper that they’d contracted you for two more songs.
“YN YN!” she burst into the studio unceremoniously, holding her phone out at you. “We need to listen to Woozi’s new song!”
“I-,”
“Right now, no negotiation! This is part of my creative process!” she barreled past you.
You didn’t put up a fight as you were itching to hear the song as well. You tried to avoid Poppi’s gaze and focus on the lyrics, but her eyes burned into you so you had to turn away from her halfway through. When it ended, you were silent.
“I’m going to start yelling,” she announced, giving you fair warning.
“Sleep won't come, you're depicted on the ceiling?!”
“I'm left with these feelings, and why is your old space so dark?”
She continued to shout lyrics at you until she ran out of notable ones and started again at the beginning.
“I think this song is about you!”
“Why would you think that?” you narrowed your eyes at her.
“I’m on stan Twitter! I know you and Woozi dated secretly. And then you broke up. And then Dispatch posted pictures of him with some other person. And then you wrote Paper. And then he just dropped this?”
You almost burst out laughing. The way Poppi was rattling off her thoughts felt very much like that ‘Conspiracy Theory Charlie Day’ meme. You were amazed, fans really had a way of sleuthing out the truth. If only there was some way to harness that energy to solve crimes.
“You should talk to him. Something seemed off about those Dispatch photos. The timing was so close to Vernon’s little dating scandal. Hoshi’s thing with Soohyuk too. Personally I think it was all a ruse to distract.”
You rolled your eyes playfully at her. This was getting a little ‘The Moon Landing was Fake’ for you, so you redirected her focus to the demo track. She urged you again, at the end of your session, to message him before giving you a hug.
[yn]: ‘hey. heard the new song, it’s really good.’
You jumped when your phone started ringing moments later.
“Hello?”
“Hey,” Jihoon’s gravelly voice came through.
Your heart twisted in your chest. It had been so long since you’d heard his voice and yet it felt familiar as if no time had passed. You’d been doing your best to ignore this feeling…move on, but you missed him.
“Can we talk?” he brought you back to the present.
“...yeah. Yeah, we can.”

hi! another &team writer >< tysm for writing for the teammies. i rlly love LOVEEE ur k, nicho, ej as ur bf aaaaaaa you got their personality so accurately TT
can i request how k would react if he’s jealous? and vice versa if his gf is jealous? thank u again sm! take care and i hope u have a great day/night <3
Tumblr media
☆ k as your jealous bf! (and vice versa)
#warnings: fem reader, some perviness, jealousy, basically everything in the rq
★。\|/。★
K liked to believe he wasn’t a jealous man, but he was wrong. He only realized how wrong he was in situations like this; some nameless fucko smiling at you brightly, chatting you up as you slid his drink over the counter.
You smiled in return, and from the way you were chatting, it was clear you knew him. It made K’s blood boil the way his gaze flickered down to your low neckline. Maybe it was karmic retribution for not asking before dropping by your workplace, but he was ready to kill this guy nonetheless.
But this is K we’re talking about. He might be a jealous, lovesick idiot, but he has game.
K slides up to the counter, dropping a little gift bag on the counter as he takes a seat at the bar. When you notice his presence, you squeal with delight. K relishes at how obviously put-out the intruder is.
“K!” you say happily, reaching over the counter to pull him into an embrace.
“Hey, baby.” he says, enunciating the last word as if to prove a point. For a moment, it’s as if the other man isn’t even there, and that’s how he likes it. “Sorry, am I interrupting your conversation, hm?” he feigns politeness, rubbing your back with one of his large hands.
“Oh, no,” you say quickly, gesturing towards your company. “This is Fuma, one of my friends from uni.” He waves in a way that conveys disinterest.
“You her boyfriend?” he asks, and K turns to you with a smirk.”
“Am I?” he practically purrs, and you flush in the face, in disbelief that he’s making you answer instead.
“Yes, of course.” you say, face hot when he presses a kiss on your lips that lasts for just a second too long to remain classy.
“I think I’m gonna head out.” Fuma says, downing the rest of his drink and pointing to the door. “I’ll see you later, y/n.”
“Nice to meet you.” K says smugly, the man scowling as he exits. You turn to K in confusion after Fuma is out of sight, cocking your head.
“What’s up with you today?” you say obliviously. He leans over the counter easily to peck your cheek, sitting down and crossing his arms.
“Don’t hang out with losers like that, baby. It makes me jealous.” Your cheeks go aflame.
“You’re so shameless.”
★。\|/。★
and vice versa ;)
Seeing another girl post your boyfriend was just about the worst thing someone could experience.
This bitch “Karina”…you didn’t know her but she was immediately at the top of your shit list. You didn’t even know that K had female friends, much less ones he had never told you about.
“Koga?” you said in the vague direction of your boyfriend sitting on the couch. His head snapped up immediately at the use of his government name. This could only mean trouble.
“Yeah baby?” he asked hesitantly, pursing his lips when you turned your phone towards him, showing your screen covered in photos of him and a birthday wish from a girl who wasn’t you.
“Who’s Karina?” you ask, a pout evident on your lower lip, jutted out petulantly. He chuckled at your clear displeasure, which only pissed you off more. “Don’t laugh, Koga. I’m asking you a question.”
“Just a classmate, honey.” he got up from the couch, striding over to you in just a few steps. “Why? You jealous?”
“I’m not jealous.” you said stubbornly. “I’m just curious as to why she’s wishing you a happy birthday. Nothing to be happy about.” He held back a laugh.
“You know internet culture. There’s always some random wishing you a happy birthday.”
“There are photos of you.”
“Those are from the high school reunion. Pure coincidence that we were both there. I don’t even know her that well.” You grumbled, but still put your phone down, satisfied with your boyfriend’s response. He came around from behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist. “You’re so cute when you’re jealous.”
“I told you, I’m not jealous.”
“Sure. And I’m not madly in love with you.”
★。\|/。★
a/n: WHEW sorry this rq took so long!!! I’ve been super focused on my sunghoon project, I’ve been neglecting my requests 🥲 this was rlly fun to write tho!!

Jealous - Kwon Soonyoung (Seventeen) x Reader
Tumblr media
Jealous
Kwon Soonyoung (Seventeen) x Reader Summary: Soonyoung is jealous of the relationship one of the other members has with his best friend. Word Count: 4,208 Genre: fluff Warnings/Contains: light cursing, alcohol consumption
Every eye is on the door after it slams shut behind Soonyoung. For seemingly no reason, he abruptly stopped dancing and stormed out of practice.
“What was that about?” Jun whispers to Chan who was practicing with Soonyoung.
Chan shrugs. “His mind was definitely somewhere else. He never took his eyes off the mirror.”
“Maybe you should go talk to him, Y/N,” Mingyu suggests. “He listens to you.”
“No,” Jihoon interrupts, thrusting his arm in front of you. “I’ll go.”
You’ve been Soonyoung’s English tutor for almost a year. In that time, he’s become your best friend. But you’ve never seen him like that. You’ve seen him frustrated with pronunciation or irritated that he messed up a choreo, but you’ve never seen him livid like he was when he charged out the door. You’re relieved Jihoon offered to go after him. Frankly, you were a little scared.
“Everyone back to practice,” Cheol orders. He zeroes in on Vernon who’s been chatting with you in the corner for the last half hour. Vernon smiles at you and squeezes your hand, then runs over to join the formation.
You were only at practice that day because a couple months ago, Soonyoung asked if he could have extra tutoring sessions between his practices. He told you that he had a specific goal he was anxious to accomplish. But when you asked what it was, thinking you could plan your lessons around it, he refused to tell you.
Since then, you’ve been coming to the studio five times a week. Practice almost always runs late, so you spend a good amount of time waiting for him. You don’t really mind waiting for him because one of the members is always available to keep you entertained. They’re all friendly and easy-going and you enjoy spending time there.
Vernon’s the one who keeps you company most often. You appreciate the break of being able to speak English with him. He always has your favorite candy for you, every time you’re there. And you can both geek out on Star Wars for hours. Surprisingly, you’ve also had some really deep conversations.
You started to get a little worried though, that he’s got a crush on you. He’s a sweet guy, but you just don’t see him that way. You’ve tried to be subtle about steering him away from you because you’d hate to lose your friendship over it.
Vernon had been the one keeping you company today while you waited for Soonyoung. Usually, he works doubly hard to finish up faster when you’re waiting for him. But today, he was moving at a snail’s pace. You continuously watched him, worried he might be coming down with something.
And each time you looked at him, he’d been eyeing you in the mirrors. Usually if he sees you watching him, he smiles or winks discreetly, but today you knew he wasn’t himself. Though he was looking at you, he seemed to be looking through you at the same time. It made you feel tense and uneasy.
You’re thinking about what could be wrong when Jihoon finally comes back to the practice room. He looks at Cheol and shakes his head, then jumps into the choreo like nothing ever happened. Something’s going on and you need to find out what it is. You wait until both Cheol and Jihoon are immersed in practice before you slip out of the room. You’re not sure where to look for Soonyoung so you wander the hallways for a while, hoping to run across him. When that doesn’t pan out, you decide to try Jihoon’s studio. You’re about to head in that direction when Cheol calls your name.
“Do you know where Soonyoung is?” you ask him before he can say anything else. “If he’s upset about something, maybe I can talk to him and —“
He cuts you off mid-sentence. “No, Y/N.”
“What’s going on, Cheol? Why are you and Jihoon so adamant that I stay away from him?”
He looks regretful and a little sad. “Look, he just needs some time, okay? Maybe you guys should take a break from each other for a little while?”
“What do you mean by a break?”
“Soonyoung needs to be away from you, Y/N.”
“Oh,” you whisper. The same tense and uneasy feeling as before surges through you. Why do you feel a sudden sense of loss? And where did the pit in your stomach come from?
Cheol reaches for your arm. “Don’t worry, okay? Just give him a little space.” The smile he gives you is full of pity.
“Yeah, sure,” you agree. “I’ll just get my things and head out.”
He walks with you back to the practice room. Soonyoung’s back, standing in the corner, talking to Jihoon. You get your bag and as you’re about to head out the door, he looks at you. You give him your best smile and a tiny wave. His eyes are filled with pain, and he turns away.
When you get home, you leave a trail of belongings on the floor behind you. You go straight to your bed and crash. The only word you can think of to describe how you feel is awful. Nothing feels right anymore. Your stomach twinges, your brain aches, and your heart feels…broken.
There’s something that’s not right about what happened. You can’t stop thinking about Soonyoung’s eyes as you were leaving. He looked dejected and devastated. What could have happened to make him feel like that?
No matter what Cheol said, you can’t leave it alone. You take out your phone and text him. What happened today, Soonyoung? I can’t figure out what I’ve done to make Cheol say you need to be away from me.
You reach for the stuffed tiger at the foot of your bed. Soonyoung gave it to you for your birthday. He bought one for himself too. He said they were tiger best friends, just like the two of you were best friends. You’d suddenly felt nervous at his words, butterflies taking over your stomach. You hug it tight to your chest.
Your phone vibrates on the nightstand, and you immediately reach for it. You just know Soonyoung has said something funny to diffuse the tension and everything will be back to normal. He always makes everything better. You open your messages and your heart drops.
Maybe it is best if we don’t see each other for a while.
That’s it? That’s all he has to say after the tantrum he threw? What the hellis going on? You know there’s got to be more to the story.
Why?
It’s not you. It’s me.
That’s ridiculous! You’re not going to let him get away with spewing crap like that, so you call him out.
This isn’t some middle school romance where you can just throw out some bullshit excuse like that and then walk away. What’s going on? What are you not telling me?
You’re fuming. You watch the screen, waiting for his response. He’s typing and then it disappears. You wait for him to start typing again, but nothing comes. You can’t believe that he’s really not going to answer you.
Are you serious right now?
You’re taking all your anger out on your phone’s keyboard.
Yes, I’m serious.
You feel betrayed.
I guess the Kwon Soonyoung I thought I knew wasn’t the real man after all. Just a mask hiding someone I could never recognize.
Maybe this isn’t the real me, but I’m not the one who’s been wearing a mask.
You have no idea what he means. Is he accusing you of being fake? You’ve never once acted like anyone other than yourself; you’ve always been honest with him. You’ve never felt like you needed to wear a mask with him. From the moment you met, he’s made you feel accepted and cared for and you’ve not once been scared to be yourself.
Before you can think of a reply, Vernon texts you. Some of the guys are going to grab drinks and he’s inviting you along. You start to decline, but then change your mind. You need to forget how angry you are with Soonyoung, so you say yes.
They’re already at a spot close to your apartment, so you throw on some fresh clothes, put your hair into a ponytail, and grab a hoodie hanging by the door. Damn Soonyoung. With enough alcohol, you won’t care about what he said.
You walk into the bar and hear Vernon call your name. He’s there with Joshua, Mingyu, and Chan. You wave and make your way over to the table.
“Woah, Y/N,” Mingyu comments. “You okay? You look like you could kill someone.”
“I need a shot,” you reply.
Chan orders a round of tequila. You down it as soon as it arrives then grab another. You down that one plus one more before you say another word.
“Hey guys,” you smile sweetly.
“Feeling better?” Joshua chuckles.
“No, actually. What the hell is Soonyoung’s problem?” They live with him. Maybe they know something.
Joshua and Chan exchange some sort of look that you can’t decipher. Mingyu shrugs his shoulders, uninterested as he checks out a girl at the bar.
“Do we have to talk about that?” Vernon whines. “We came here to relax.”
“You’re right,” you agree. “I’m not going to let him ruin the rest of my day.”
Chan brings another round of shots. Vernon talks animatedly but you aren’t really listening. You said you weren’t going to let Soonyoung ruin your night but he’s the only thing on your mind.
“Y/N!” Vernon shakes your arm. “Did you hear what I said?”
You pat his hand. “Sorry, guess I zoned out.”
“Probably thinking about Soonyoung again,” Mingyu mutters.
“What is that supposed to mean?” you growl then down another shot.
“Come on, Y/N, even I can see it.”
“You can see what, Gyu?”
“You and Soonyoung. You — “Chan elbows him, cutting him off.
“What about Soonyoung and I?”
“Nothing,” Mingyu brushes it off. “I’m going to the bar.” He stalks off toward the girl he’s been eyeing.
Vernon grabs your hand, pulling you from the table. “Come on Y/N, let’s dance.”
You forget how angry and confused you are once you’re on the dance floor. The music is so loud you can’t hear yourself think anyway. Vernon smiles at you. You’re glad you came out; you needed the distraction.
You’ve been dancing for a while when a slow song begins playing. You turn to leave the dance floor, but Vernon grabs your hand. “Dance with me,” he pleads.
You chuckle, shake your head no, and try to pull away. Something about this doesn’t feel right. You shouldn’t be dancing with him like this. But he’s already pulled you close, and you don’t want to make things awkward so you follow his lead.
“There’s something I’ve been wanting to say.” His mouth is next to your ear, his breath tickling you as he speaks. You giggle. If you hadn’t already had too much tequila, you’d have realized that your giggle was giving him the wrong impression. But the alcohol’s already traveling through your system and the only thing you’re thinking about is how funny it feels.
“I like you, Y/N.”
You jerk out of his arms, the alcohol fog clearing enough for you to realize what he said.
“I need some air,” you mutter and run off the dance floor. He follows you, catching your arm in the hallway by the bathroom.
You turn to face him, and he’s smiling. It makes you feel terrible for what you’re about to say. “I’m sorry, Vernon. But I don’t feel the same.”
His shoulders slump. “It’s Soonyoung, isn’t it?”
“What are you talking about? What does he have to do with this?”
“Boo told me not to confess. He said it was obvious you like Soonyoung, but I didn’t want to believe him. Now I know, it’s true.” He turns away from you and takes off down the hall.
You call after him, but he keeps walking. “Vernon, I’m sorry!”
Damn it! This is exactly what you didn’t want to happen. You make your way back to the table where Mingyu’s once again joined Joshua and Chan. He’s alone. He must be having shitty luck tonight too.
“Where’s Vernon?” Joshua asks as you sit down.
You stare him down angrily. “Did you know he was going to confess?”
“Oh, damn,” Chan winces. He slides a shot across the table to you. You wonder if you should stop drinking, but the knowing looks on their faces make you even angrier.
You take the shot then turn on them all. “You knew?!”
Joshua begins. “We thought he might. And we thought if we came along, then he’d chicken out. And everything would go back to normal.”
You roll your eyes. “What’s ‘normal’ supposed to look like?”
“You and Soonyoung, Y/N,” Mingyu abruptly interjects. “God, sometimes I think you’re denser than I am.”
You slam your fist on the table. “There’s been a lot of talk about me and Soonyoung as a single unit. You guys are acting like we’re a couple and Vernon just tried to steal me away from him or something.”
They look at each other like you’ve just stated the most obvious fact in existence. Your eyebrows furrow in confusion.
“Isn’t that basically what just happened?” Chan shrugs.
“We’re not a couple,” you declare assertively.
“You are. A couple of idiots,” Mingyu sneers.
Before you can retort, Joshua cuts you off. “Look, Y/N. I’m not sure it’s really our place to say anything — “
Mingyu scoffs. “Someone needs to say something because this is getting ridiculous.”
Joshua continues. “It’s a fact that Soonyoung likes you. And it’s pretty apparent that you like him to.”
“That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever heard!” you stutter.
“How exactly did you respond to Vernon when he confessed?” Chan smirks.
“I told him that I didn’t feel the same way about him.”
“And what did he say?” Joshua asks.
“He asked if…” They all look at you expectantly. “If it was because of Soonyoung,” you mumble.
“Ha!” Mingyu laughs. “See? Vernon knows you rejected him for Soonyoung. How can you not see what’s going on?”
Your mind starts racing with thoughts of your relationship with Soonyoung. You think about the gifts he’s given you that match ones he bought for himself. Looking back, they all seem like couple gifts.
You picture the way he stands over you, his chin resting on your head and his arms around you when you ask him to read a passage in English. And the way you’ve caught him twirling your hair around his fingers when he’s supposed to be listening to your lessons. It all seemed to flow so naturally; you never thought his touches meant anything more.
You’re overwhelmed by so many unrealized feelings bombarding you all at once. You storm away from the table, heading straight for the bar. You plan to drink yourself into forgetting, but you end up analyzing every moment that’s transpired between the two of you, looking for the clues you somehow missed. How could you not have seen the myriad of ways he showed you he cared about you?
You chastise yourself. What did you think it meant when he ran his hands soothingly over your back and listened to you vent to him about your bad day? Was there any other possible meaning when he pulled you onto his lap and fed you his birthday cake, bite by bite? And how else could it have been taken when he tried to teach you to dance and you felt his heart pounding through your chest when he pulled you close? Those things don’t happen between people who are only best friends.
You’re trying to wrap your head around what it all means when Joshua comes up behind you. “They nominated me to talk to you. Because I can speak English.” He smiles, shrugging his shoulders.
“I don’t think this would be any easier to understand in English,” you sigh.
“What’s there to understand, Y/N? Soonyoung is head over heels for you. Even though you were too dense to realize it, you’re just as crazy about him. There’s nothing keeping you from being happy, except yourself.”
You look at him. “Is it really that obvious to everyone but me?”
He pats your hand, trying to comfort you. He’s always the logical one. “How do you feel when Soonyoung brings you coffee made exactly the way you like it, even when he doesn’t have a lesson?”
You think for a minute before responding. “Important, like one of his priorities. Special because he’s memorized how I take my coffee.”
“How did you feel when he stormed out of practice today? When he turned away from you before you left?”
You don’t have to think too hard about your answer this time. “Awful. Confused. Desperate to fix what was wrong with…us.”
You sigh. Realization is breaking through the alcohol. He asks his last question.
“How would you feel if Soonyoung was here right now, if he had come here just for you, to take you home and take care of you because you’ve had way too much to drink?
Your answer’s immediate. “Loved.”
He’s smiling. “Then turn around, Y/N, so you can feel loved.”
You mumble a cross between what and how before looking behind you. Your eyes are blurry with tears, but you can make out Soonyoung’s silhouette. You’d be able to recognize him anywhere.
“Soonyoung?”
He walks toward you. When he’s close enough that you can smell his mint toothpaste, he sighs. “What were you thinking, Y/N?”
You scrunch your nose in a frown. “You didn’t have to come all the way here to berate me.”
“I came all the way here to bring you home.” He tries to take your hand, but you pull away.
“I don’t need a babysitter,” you growl at him.
“I’m not here to babysit you. I’m here because I care about you.”
You cross your arms and turn away from him. “You have a funny way of showing it.”
“Y/N, I’m sorry about what happened today. I shouldn’t have told you I didn’t want to see you. Please, just let me take you home. We can talk about it there.”
You turn to snap at him but lose your balance. He calls your name and the next thing you know; he’s scooped you up in his arms.
“I’m taking you home. Now.”
You don’t think to resist him, not even for a second. His arms are sturdy and safe, so you lean in, inhaling the fresh, sweet scent of his cologne. As your nose brushes against his neck, he shudders. You giggle and he looks down at you, frowning.
“Don’t do that, Y/N.”
“Soonie, you smell good,” you coo. You’re blissfully drunk, and now that he’s here, you’re unable to stop what comes out of your mouth.
He stops. “What did you call me?”
“Soonie.” You touch his cheek and his eyes flutter shut. “My sweet, sweet Soonie.”
He swallows hard. “You’ve never called me that before.”
“You don’t like it?” you pout. “It’s cute, like you.” You boop him on the nose and giggle.
“You’re drunk, Y/N. You need to go home.”
Once you’re outside, he sits you down on the sidewalk. You grin at him then squeeze his biceps. “You’re so strong, Soonie.”
“Come on,” he mumbles, grabbing your hand tightly and pulling you down the sidewalk toward your apartment.
“Are you coming home with me?” you chirp. He doesn’t respond. “That’s so scandalous!” you add, drawing out your words for emphasis. He still doesn’t reply.
You stop walking and pull your hand away. “I’m not going anywhere until you talk to me.” You stomp your feet like a little child.
“Please, Y/N. Just let me get you home, then we can talk all you want, I promise.”
You grin mischievously, crossing your arms. “Only if you give me a piggyback ride.”
His eyes widen. “You’re serious?”
“Absolutely. If you don’t, then I’m staying right here.” You plop down on the sidewalk to emphasize your point.
“Get up, Y/N.” You cock your head to the side waiting for him to give in, which he does. “Fine!”
You spring to your feet. When he turns around, you jump on his back. He holds you with ease and takes off down the street again. For a few blocks he carries you in silence, your chin nuzzled against his cheek. He’s warm and comfortable and you start to get sleepy.
“Do you know why I wanted you to carry me, Soonie?” He shakes his head. “Because I like your muscles,” you giggle. “You’re really handsome, you know.”
You feel his body tense under you. “What’s wrong?” you ask.
He puts you down. “Nothing. We’re here. Where are your keys?” You shrug your shoulders, and he groans. “Give me your purse.”
He holds out his hand, and his stoic look turns to irritation when you only stand there giggling.
“Y/N!”
You can’t stop laughing. “If you want it, come get it,” you challenge him.
“I’m tired of playing games, Y/N! Just hand me your purse so I can find your keys.”
You don’t move, so he takes a step closer. Hesitantly, he reaches into the bag that’s draped across your shoulder. He carefully rifles through the pockets looking for the keys.
“Soonie,” you whisper.
“Hmmm?” He’s still looking through your purse.
“Soonie!”
“What, Y/N?” He looks at you, exasperated.
“I’m tired of playing games too.”
You wrap your arms around his neck and pull yourself up on your tiptoes. You close your eyes and lean into him, your lips pressing softly against his. He’s stiff with shock for just a moment, then his lips melt into yours. You hum with delight. You had no idea how delicious his kiss would taste.
Suddenly he pulls away. “What are you doing, Y/N?”
“Um, obviously I’m kissing you, silly.”
“We can’t do this,” he mumbles.
“Why not?” you object. “Shua said you like me.”
“It’s not about me, Y/N.” He sounds angry and you don’t like it. “What about Vernon? You shouldn’t be kissing me when you two like each other.” He looks away from you.
“Vernon?” You’d forgotten about his confession after the last shot of tequila. “Don’t worry about him, Soonie.” You try to grab his hand and pull him close to you again, but he jerks away.
“What do you mean ‘Don’t worry about him’? I’m not going to kiss another man’s girlfriend!”
When you realize where his thoughts are headed, you burst out laughing. “What’s so funny?” he snaps.
“Vernon is NOT my boyfriend, Soonie. And he never will be.”
He drops his eyes, his face turning crimson. “Oh,” he mutters.
You touch his chin, tipping his face back up so you can look in his eyes. “Vernon will never be my boyfriend,” you continue, “because I like someone else.”
“Oh,” he repeats. He tries to look away again, but you don’t let him.
“Ugh! Kwon Soonyoung!” you gasp. “Sometimes you can be such an idiot!” His eyes widen in confusion, and you playfully punch him in the arm.
“It’s you, Soonyoung! You’re the one I like.” For the longest time, he stares at you. “Are you going to say anything?”
“I thought that you liked Vernon, that’s why…” he runs his hands through his hair nervously.
“Why what?
“I overheard Vernon telling Boo that he was going to confess. And I thought you liked him too; you always smile at him, and he buys chocolates especially for you. Then I saw you talking and laughing today at practice. I thought you guys were a couple.”
“Maybe you should have stuck around to hear all of their conversation. Boo told Vernon not to confess because everyone already assumed that I like you.”
He shoves his hands in his pockets, looking at the ground. He’s too embarrassed to look at you.
“Wait a minute,” you tease him. “Is that why you threw a temper tantrum at practice? Because you were jealous?”
“I wasn’t jealous!” he shouts.
You reach for his hand again, drawing him close to you, and brushing the hair out of his eyes. “I think that it’s absolutely adorable that you were jealous of Vernon.”
“I wasn’t jealous,” he pouts. “And it wasn’t a tantrum; I was upset.”
“Oh really?”
“I thought you chose Vernon…because I wasn’t good enough. I thought I had lost you.”
“My sweet Soonie,” you murmur, caressing his cheek. He presses his forehead to yours.
“I love the way that sounds,” he whispers.
“When I call you Soonie?”
“No,” he answers, looking into your eyes. “When you call me yours.”
Cautiously, he brings his mouth closer to yours. When his lips are just out of reach, he whispers to you. “Can I please be yours?”
“You already are.”
You close your eyes and the kiss that follows is the most tender moment of your life. His arms envelop your waist, and your bodies meld together in contentment that’s been way too long arriving.

Seungcheol knew that tonight would end in chaos as soon as he saw the karaoke machine. Whoever thought it was a good idea to put in a karaoke machine in the living room area of the vacation home, was immensely wrong. He knew that at least a couple people in the group were going to start using it after a few drinks tonight, and luckily managed to get one of the bedrooms in the smaller cabins nearby instead of one in the main building. However, he didn't expect that one of the people who would hop on the karaoke machine would be you.
It was already getting late when Soonyoung, Seungkwan, and Seokmin had "discovered" the karaoke machine. One of the members, or maybe even one of their partners, had attempted to hide it under a blanket - to no avail, seeing as the three of them were able to sniff it out.
It all started with a solo from Seungkwan, which Soonyoung joined in on. Soon enough, the entirety of BSS was singing together once Seokmin had joined them. Once the song finished, everyone expected them to start singing again soon enough - but they didn't expect to hear your voice echo from the speakers.
Seungcheol sat in the corner of the room, talking to Joshua about how nice it was going to be to spend some quiet time alone with you, when he heard "Whatta Man" by Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue start playing over the systems. At first, he thought nothing of it - maybe he was a little surprised that Soonyoung knew all of the words to the first verse, but there was nothing in particular that got his attention from his conversation. That was, until you started on the second verse.
"My man is smooth like Barry and his voice got bass. A body like Arnold with a Denzel face-"
Your voice was giggly, but you surprisingly managed to sing all of the words quite clearly . Joshua snorted as he looked up to the mini-stage that Soonyoung, Seokmin, and Seungkwan had made out of a few tables. Seungcheol didn't dare look up at first, but it was impossible to ignore your loud voice over the speakers. As soon as he lifted his gaze to meet yours, your face lit up. From your face, Seungcheol could tell that you were drunk - he could tell that you were very drunk from the way you danced as if no one was watching... despite everyone definitely watching.
"Yeah, the ritual, highway to Heaven. From 7 to 7, he's got me open like 7-11," you shouted into the microphone while pointing to him.
Soonyoung was on the floor, dying from laughter, Seokmin was staring at the lyrics on the screen, and Seungkwan was singing back-up vocals while you kept going. Eventually, Seungcheol excused himself from his conversation with Joshua to walk to the front of the room. While he only thought this was cute, he knew that you would be embarrassed as all hell in the morning. It was time to put this to a stop. Seungkwan had since taken over, while you were holding your arms over your head and moving your hips in circles - completely unaware of the eyes on you, despite the many whoop's and wolf whistles. When you saw him approach, you stopped what you were doing and bounced over to him.
"Seungcheollie~," you slurred directly into the microphone. "You're a mighty-mighty good man!"
"Uh-huh." Seungcheol looked up at you, holding his hands out to catch you in case you fell off the table you were standing on. "I think you're ready for bed, pretty."
"Noooo," you whined as your boyfriend managed to take the microphone from you. "The song isn't done yet..."
Seungkwan and Soonyoung were still singing, while Seokmin was still looking at the lyrics and shouting out words at random, and not paying attention to you anymore. With a sigh, Seungcheol put the mic down on the ground - though he couldn't hide his big smile as he looked back up to see that you had started dancing again. He managed to take ahold of you, grabbing your legs and putting your body over his shoulder.
"Cheollie, nooo..."
Seungcheol excused himself to the room of people, and didn't wait for their response before going away to the bedroom the two of you had picked out. To get you more comfortable before he carried out in the chilly night, he maneuvered you to sit with your legs wrapped around his waist. Your face naturally found its way to the crook of his neck, and he heard you let out a delighted sigh as he hugged you a little tighter. He managed to put on his slippers without looking - or at least he thought it was his slippers - and decided to leave your shoes there to be picked up in the morning.
"Comfy?" he asked.
You hummed in response, and Seungcheol opened the door to step outside. The walk to the cabin wasn't far but it was getting pretty cold outside, and you shivered in his arms.
"We'll get you in bed soon, baby," he cooed at you.
"Seungcheol," you said in a very serious tone - you definitely hadn't heard what he had just said.
"Yeah?"
"Why aren't you a lumberjack man?" You lifted your upper body up to look at him.
"Why am I not a what now?" Seungcheol laughed, doing his best to give you his attention while still keeping you off the ground. "A lumberjack man?"
"You're so strong- you can definitely carry wood for a living." You gripped onto his biceps. "And you'd have, like, a husky or something... not that Kkuma isn't cute, she should come with us too... and we'd live in the woods- I think it'd be very hot of you."
"Are you fantasizing about me as a lumberjack man?" He opened the door to the cabin and stepped inside. "I thought I already was a mighty good man."
"Oh, you are." As he set you down on the bed, you refused to let him go - your arms wrapped around his neck to keep him close to you. "I just wanna watch you chop wood."
Despite you smelling of alcohol, Seungcheol pressed a kiss to your lips. His heart melted as he saw your big smile when he pulled away. As if his kiss was the password for you to unlock your arms, you let him go. Your eyes stayed on Seungcheol as he walked around the room, preparing for the night. He went into the bathroom to grab the painkillers you had brought and when he came back out, you were still looking at him. Your legs were crossed, leaning back on your arms, and your head was cocked to the side. As if he wasn't looking right at you, you looked him up and down - very obviously undressing him with your eyes.
"Babe," he said, interrupting your staring. "Get your pajamas."
"You're not going to undress me?" You pouted.
You were that kind of drunk. Seungcheol sighed and walked over to your bag, taking out your pajama pants and a t-shirt. While he was usually always intrigued whenever you tried to initiate something, tonight was not the case. You were almost too drunk to stand up straight, so no amount of complimenting his strong arms or fluttering your eyes at him was going to make Seungcheol give in. Still, he agreed to help undress you - and did so quickly, while you giggled as you tried to interrupt him.
Your hands never left his skin as he guided you around the room to get you ready for bed. After successfully getting you to brush your teeth, it was time for your skincare. He sat you down on the counter in the bathroom to help you, all the while you were feeling up his arms and shoulders. It was a little distracting, but Seungcheol put all of his energy to get your face clean. His hands were gentle as they traced the features of your face, and you closed your eyes in pure bliss.
"Maybe you shouldn't be a lumberjack man," you muttered.
"No? Why not?"
"Your hands are so gentle," you whispered, as if it was a secret.
You let go of his arms to start touching his hands instead. Seungcheol tried his best to keep your hands away from his own, but you were relentless. With your hands on top of his, you pressed them against your cheeks. They almost covered your entire face, but you didn't seem to mind.
"Soft hands," you muttered. "Wow, you're warm."
"Baby, just let me do the last step..." He sighed and removed his hands from you to pick up your face lotion. "You're a menace when you're drunk."
"Can you cuddle me when we go to bed?" you asked sweetly, ignoring what he had just said again. "I want to steal your warmth."
"Sure, babe." He looked up at you with a soft smile. "Now, close your eyes again."
Once you were tucked under the covers, he got you a glass of water. When you saw him, standing in front of you with a glass of water and looking tired, your eyes started tearing up. Seungcheol was quick to crouch down, putting the water on the bedside table, and reaching out to cup your face in his hands.
"What's wrong, sweetheart?" he cooed.
"You really are a good man," you mumbled with a pout. "Like- not just in the hot way."
Seungcheol hung his head down to hide his laugh from you. If you had seen him laughing at you, he knew that you'd take it as a personal attack. He looked back at you, trying to keep a straight face.
"You deserve the best, alright?" He let you go and picked up the glass of water again. "Now, drink up. I'll get you another glass for you to drink in the morning."
You nodded, tears still in your eyes over his sweet act, and started drinking. After putting painkillers and another glass of water on the bedside table by your side of the bed, Seungcheol got ready for bed. When he crawled into bed, minutes later, you were already half asleep. He kept his promise, and cuddled up next to you. You snuggled your head against his chest, and put your cold feet against his legs. Seungcheol froze up, but was careful not to make a sound as you were about to fall asleep. He knew that you were going to hate yourself in the morning, that you were going to ask him a million questions about what you had done, but now you looked so peaceful and he hoped that you could stay like that for as long as possible.
✦ . B O N U S . ✦
Breakfast was set out in the living room of the main house, made by the few that weren't experiencing a hungover that morning. You walked in behind Seungcheol, wearing one of his hoodies with the hood pulled up and sunglasses sitting on the bridge of your nose to protect you from the strong sunlight. As soon as a few people saw the two of you, they started singing:
"Whatta man, whatta man, whatta mighty good man!"
You groaned and reluctantly sat down by the table, apologizing to everyone that was there about your drunken behavior the night before. People started joking around about it and while you were embarrassed, you couldn't help but to laugh at their jokes.
"Seriously, Seungcheol, you should be proud." Chan said from beside you. "No sane person would ever get up on a table and sing that song like that to a person, if they weren't down bad for them."
You slapped Chan's arm lightly, but you knew it was true. Choi Seungcheol was a mighty good man, and you were 100% down bad for him.

“baby you better fuck me like you mean it.”
“oh i will,” jaehyun says as his lips come crashing into mine. the intensity of the kiss caused me to stumble backwards into the boat's railing.
the sound of the crashing waves became white noise, my sole attention on his lips. the softness of his lips, they molded so perfectly with mine. it was quite a heated kiss, his tongue clashing with mine, and our teeth as well occasionally.
his hands gripped on my hips, the dress i was wearing did nothing to conceal the burning heat of his fingertips. i pull him closer when i wrap my arms around his neck, deepening our kiss even more.
i let out a slight moan when he bit down on my bottom lip, pulling on it. my gaze met his, his eyes lustful. “pull up your dress for me baby,” he whispered into my ear before sinking onto his knees.
i complied, pulling the hem of my dress up. my legs shut together, my black laced panties surely wet. “open up,” he says, kissing my thighs. i did as he said, opening them up for him. “good girl,” he says, biting on my inner thigh before palming my pussy with his hand.
“this wet already?” he mutters, sliding my panties aside. my bare cunt opened as the cool air hit it, sending a shiver through me. “you know the simplest touch from you makes a complete mess of me,” i replied, biting on my lip as he licked my clit.
“she’s always so needy for me, ain’t that right darling,” he teases, biting on my bud. i nod frantically, “god, yes! i want you, please,” i moan as i look down on the man below me.
he smirks before diving into my cunt. his tongue licking me up, sure to taste everything without missing a single drop. his licks were slow, almost as if he were trying to tease me, trying to pull me to the edge and beg for more.
and god do i beg… “pl-please m-more!”
jaehyun looks up, “more what baby?” oh fuck do i wanna wipe that smug face off him. “e-eat me please… fuck me senseless… i want you, i want you!”
“all right, i hear you baby.”
that was all jaehyun needed before going berserk. he works his way with my cunt, mouth on my clit and fingers fingering me ruthlessly.
i whip my head back when i felt his mouth suck on my clit before biting down on my bud, licking it shortly after. on the other hand his digits intruded inside my cunt, the squelching noise more evident than the ocean waves.
he licks my clit one more time before departing, “gonna cum?” i moan out yesses, but the sensation of his fingers was shortly lost. although it was now replaced by his tongue. he fucked his tongue deep inside me, i clenched around the wet muscle. the chanting of his name was the only word in my vocabulary, i was close so fucking close.
jaehyun could tell you were close, bringing his thumb to your clit, rubbing and pinching it to help you near your end. a pinch later, you came on his face. jaehyun groans in satisfaction, the sensation pleasuring. he slurps up all of your orgasm, again not wanting to miss a single drop.
when jaehyun finishes and is back on his feet, he clashes his lips on yours again. besides your pussy he also finds your lips addictive. you could taste yourself on him, you loved it.
however he isn’t the only one addicted, you are too and to all of him. especially his dick. your hand goes down to feel his rock hard cock, now you’re the one palming him. he departs from the kiss, “you gonna suck me off baby?”
“mmm, yeah,” you mutter, giving jaehyun a kick peck before you’re the one sinking onto your knees. you free him of his pants and boxers, his cock standing tall. you nearly drool at the sight, taking him in your hand you stroke him. from the base to the tip you lick him, your eyes never breaking from his as you do this. jaehyun’s eyebrows furrowed as you swirled your tongue around his red tip. putting your mouth on tip, never going furthur to tease him.
however jaehyun wasn’t in the mood to play these games. taking a fistful of your hair, he pushes your head further down until he feels his tip down your throat. he was big, you always struggled to get him all in. drool escapes your mouth as his cock occupied all the space inside your mouth.
“this mouth is so good for me,” he groans, looking down at you. comfortable now you begin bopping your head, he watches his cock disappear and reappear as you gagged and moaned. it was so hot he could cum from just this, but he wanted this to continue for just a moment more.
you bring your hands to fondle his ball, trying your best to bring him to his release. placing his hand back on the back of your head, he fucks into your mouth faster, feeling as his cock twitched inside. “f-fuck,” he moans before bursting his hot white seeds into your pretty mouth.
“swallow it baby,” he says, helping you get back up. when you swallow it down you open your mouth to show him you did, only for him to dip his fingers inside. now you found yourself sucking on his two digits.
“turn around and hold the railing darling,” he tells you in which you followed. he drags your dress over your ass, sliding your panties to the side again. the sight in front of him was heavenly, so fucking beautiful. he takes those digits from your mouth to your cunt to slide against it.
“ready baby? want my cock,” he says, teasing his hard-on against my ass and pussy. my cunt coated him in my juices. “ye-yes,” i moaned, trying to rub against him. he chuckled at my action before sliding his cock into me so easily.
“slipped right in,” he whispers into my ear. pecking my temple and my exposed skin on my neck before retreating back. his hands gripped onto my hips, as he began thrusting into me. his cock perfectly stretched me out, accommodating to his size. his tip reaching me deep inside my womb.
“yes, ugh, faster please j-jae!”
and he does such, thrusting into me much faster and harder. it could’ve been my cock-drunk state kicking in but it felt as though the boat rocked harder. whatever, i don’t care all i could focus on was his cock and how he fucked into me.
his hands began traveling in front of me, stopping on my breasts. he pulled down my dress, my breasts spilling out. groping them as he thrusts into me and out of me, taking his fingertips to pinch the nipples.
my gaze traveled to the beautiful view in front of me, the clear blue ocean and mountains. it was so beautiful but i couldn’t even fully and properly take it in, the sex was just too good to pay any mind to other things.
“cum on my cock,” he groans. jaehyun was reaching his high too, his cock twitching inside my cunt as i clenched around him.
a couple more rough thrust later, i came on his cock whilst he came inside my pussy. his cock still inside me as he turned me around, and he tries to take my dress off.
i put my hands on his chest. “w-wait what if-if some paparazzi sees us,” i say, causing jaehyun to laugh. what could be so funny? this was serious!
“so? let’s give them a show, let’s show em’ just how slutty my beautiful girlfriend is… show em’ who's the only person who could make you like this,” he says in a sultry tone. my pussy throbbed, why were his words turning me on.
i was rendered speechless. eventually i did end up naked, nothing but love bites and hickeys that jaehyun was giving my body. he worshiped my body like it was the most sacred thing in the universe.
abruptly he carries me, walking over to a the seating area nearby. he sits down, plopping me on top of him. i watch him as he jerks his cock and brings his tip to my pussy. he teases my entrance before sliding me down onto his cock. i jerk forward onto his chest, my arms instinctively wrapped around his neck. his hands groping my ass, fondling the flesh before sending one harsh slap, and another one, then another.
each slap on my ass caused me to clench around his cock. jaehyun’s cock probably felt so snug inside my pussy. “god, this pussy was made just for me. it’s the best i’ll ever have,” he groans.
when he stops slapping my ass, his hands travel to my hips as they begin to help me ride him. it starts off slow, but eventually he helped pick up the pace, going even faster and deeper.
“s-so de-deep!” i practically yell out. i watched as jaehyun smiles, leaning forward to kiss my lips. he hit my g-stop so well from this position, hitting it with every thrust that it has me moaning into our kiss. oddly though, i felt strange like an urge to pee. fuck. fuck. fuck.
“wa-wait! ja-jaehyun!” i yell out, but he doesn’t stop. we’re both thrusting roughly, but with a slight rub to my clit i came. i squirted all over jaehyun, his legs, lower stomach, and cock. i heaved, finding myself outta breath already.
jaehyun didn’t stop though, continuing to fuck me through my mind boggling orgasm. he still so desperately was trying to reach his. as another orgasm hit me, causing me to clench tightly onto his cock, was finally when jaehyun was able to cum inside you.
jaehyun’s cum was surely stuffing you good today. “one more baby,” he says, moving me to lay on my back. i didn’t even try resisting, in truth i wanted more too. i wanted jaehyun to fill me up again.
taking one of my legs he places it on his shoulder. his cock still hard as it entered me for a third time. he sinks into me deep, stamina still going strong as he thrust into me roughly. the frantic movement causing my breasts to move, capturing his attention. sliding one of his hands to your tit to squeezing it, playing with your nipple as well.
eventually placing your leg back down, giving you the chance to wrap your legs around him. strangely enough it lights something in him, arousing him. shifting you a big he now’s pounding into your faster, like a madman.
“gonna let me cum in ya again right darling?” he asks, panting. you couldn’t mutter anything but just nod. “gonna let me fill ya up with my cum, have you nice and stuffed with my baby?”
you eyes flutter shut as you yell out, “yes! give me your baby jaehyun!”
he smirks, “god you get so cock-drunk. my baby’s such a good slut for me.”
thrusting once and twice more before we both cum at the same time. “you’ll be so gorgeous pregnant with my child, our child. all swollen for the world to see.”
you don't say anything, you’re too busy seeing stars. each orgasm jaehyun drags outta you is so euphoric, better than the last.
jaehyun hisses as he slips his cock out of your pussy. your pussy clenching around nothing, feeling empty. jaehyun looks as his cum spills out, he finds it unsatisfying so he uses his fingers to stuff it back inside you.
his fingers eliciting an orgasm or two until you end up passing out. the sex was one of the best you two have ever had, heck you wouldn’t even be surprised if you do end up pregnant from this whole ordeal.
Tumblr media
by the time you wake up again, your face was in jaehyun’s chest. carefully getting up, you take in the scenary. ah, you’re still on the boat. what was supposed to be a cute little boat date ended up getting pretty heated. i mean not that you hated it.
you glance at jaehyun who was awake now, looking right at you. “morning,” you coo. he smiles, pulling you down so he can engulf you into a hug. “passed out on me, huh,” he says, kissing your hair.
i laugh, turning my head to look up at him. “you never had a woman like me in your life, huh.”
jaehyun bites his bottom lip, eventually bringing them to yours in a gentle kiss. “nope, you’re the fucking best i’ve and ever will have.”
i smile, going to straddle him. he looks up at me, though we’re both still very much naked, that was the least of our concerns. leaning down to whisper something in his ear.
“tell me you don’t never wanna lose me.”

Lost & Found 3
Tumblr media
Pairing: Baekhyun x Reader x San
Warning: Stuff.🫢
Word Count: 1.4k
A/N: I'm back, bitches!! Hope you enjoy!!
"I'm sorry, what?" You ask in disbelief. "I don't think I heard you correctly."
"I said we'll get married. It's only right. That's my son, you're the mother of my son. We should be a family. I've missed you so much, baby." San says, reaching towards you.
“Your wife?” You scoff. “I will never be your wife. Do you even remember how you treated me? You pitted my whole family against me with those lies of yours. If you think I would ever be with you, you are even more delusional than I thought.” You say, picking Jaehyun up, turning away from San.
"Delusional?" San laughs. "Oh baby, you're still spreading all these lies? I treated you like a fucking queen, and you lied to me and treated me like shit! Remember that, you constantly lied to me about everything! Of course I didn't believe you when you said you were pregnant, you're a compulsive liar, y/n." He yells.
"Yeah, sure, I lied." You sigh. "Because you can't control your fucking anger, San. I couldn't tell you shit without worrying about how you were going to act. You're psychotic and you're fucking neurotic. You'll never be around MY son." You emphasize. "He's mine, just mine. You don't get to try and weasel your way in because you think he's yours. If we're being honest, he's probably not. Don't look for me, don't call me, leave us alone." You yell. You grab Baekhyun’s sleeve to pull him to come with you but he doesn't budge.
“I don’t know you, but I know what you've done. She's happy now, and he is loved and taken care of. Stay away from my family.” Baekhyun tells San through gritted teeth. He turns around to join you, the three of you walk away from the man with a sinister smile on his face. He yells out one last thing that sends a shiver down your spine.
"Your family? Ha! I'll be seeing you soon, y/n, don't worry. He belongs with me! Clearly you're an unfit mother!" San yells. "I wonder what lies you've told him!" He screams as the three of you walk away.
*
Your entire body was shaking as you buckled Jaehyun into his carseat. You could feel Baekhyun's presence behind you, he had such a calming aura around him. You close the door to the car and turn around to face Baekhyun. He places his hands on your arms, rubbing them up and down, neither of you speaking. For at least a few seconds you felt a touch of peace and calmness. But only for a second.
"How dare he." You sniffle. Baekhyun decided to drive. It was probably for the best. You were having too hard of a time controlling your tears. You didn't want Jaehyun to see you cry or upset, but you couldn't help it. Even after all these years, San still knew how to get under your skin. As you take a deep breath, your phone rings in your purse. You reach down to grab it, finding your phone and seeing your mom was calling. You rolled your eyes and took another deep breath before answering the call.
"Hi, mom." You say.
"Honey, I just got the most disturbing call from San." She says. You put the phone on speaker for Baekhyun to hear, too.
"Oh yeah." You answer.
"That's his son, honey. A boy needs his father." She says.
"And Jaehyun has a father, Baekhyun has been in his life for years. I'm not about to force an abusive, lying, sociopath into my son's life." You say, beginning to raise your voice.
"Oh please, y/n. Will you drop the woah is me act, it's pitiful and unbelievable. San never hurt you, he was nothing but loving and devoted but you fucked it up. You cannot tarnish his name like this! He is a good boy who deserves to know his son." She spits back.
"Do not call me again. I would never believe someone else over my own child. What kind of mother are you?" You yell, hanging up the phone, tossing it to the floor of the car.
You were so done with San and your family. If they loved him so much, they could have him.
"Y/N.." Baekhyun starts.
"I swear to god, Baekhyun. If you say he should know his son I will lose my fucking mind." You yell.
"I was just gonna say you look so fucking hot right now." He says. You look over at him, he's smiling at you, winking while making kissy faces. You can't help but laugh at him. It felt nice to laugh. You hated being sad or angry and you didn't want to let San have the power of ruining your day, or life anymore. You wouldn't let him affect you any longer, he wasn't allowed to have that power. Whatever he threw at you, you'd handle it.
*
"Okay, baby." You smile. "Mommy will come pick you up after work, okay." You say to Jaehyun as you drop him off at daycare. He gives you a hug and a kiss before he runs off to the friends he has made. You say goodbye to the workers and head out for work. You hadn't heard anything from San, which was a good thing, but you were worried. You were on edge, wondering what the hell San was going to do. You knew him. You knew he wouldn't stop until he got what he wanted. He was charming, handsome, and knew how to play everyone. A master manipulator. It stressed you out.
Luckily, work distracted you, just enough. You checked your phone later on in the day, seeing a missed call from the daycare. You only had 30 minutes of work left. You wondered if something had happened to Jaehyun. You quickly called them back, knots already forming in your stomach.
"Hi, hey, yeah, I missed a call about my son.. Jaehyun." You say.
"Oh yes. Thanks for calling back. I just wanted to let you know that Jaehyun's father is here to pick him up. He's not on the approved pick up list but he insists that it's fine." She tells you.
"What? Baekhyun is on the list.. you guys know him. He didn't tell me he was picking him up." You say.
"Oh no, it's not Mr. Byun. His name is.." She pauses.
"San." You hear in the background.
"It's San. He says he is Jaehyun's father." She says.
"Do not let him go near my son. I'm on my way." You say, hanging up the phone. You grab your purse and your keys, quickly taking off without saying a word to anyone. Your entire body was anxious, you felt like a mess. You didn't know what San would do to Jaehyun, he was capable of so much more than you even knew. He was a monster, and that monster was trying to take your son.
Your tired screech to a stop directly outside the doors of the facility. You put your car in park and jump out, leaving the engine running. You run inside and see Jaehyun sitting with a worker.
"Mommy!" He smiles, running towards you. You quickly embrace him, holding him close and tightly.
"That man is never allowed to see, talk to or take Jaehyun. Ever." You say. "He needs to be banned from here. Only myself or Baekhyun are approved for pick up. Okay?" You finish, still holding your sweet boy in your arms.
"Yes, of course. I'm so sorry." The woman says.
"It's fine.. Thank you for calling me." You whisper. You pick Jaehyun up and take him to the car, buckling him into his seat. As the two of you are driving home, Jaehyun pipes up.
"Mommy." He begins.
"Yes, baby?" You answer.
"Why did that man say he's my daddy? I have a daddy already! He said that my daddy isn't my real daddy." He sighs.
"I know it's confusing, baby. Your daddy is at home right now waiting for us. Don't listen to what that man says. And if you ever see him you scream and run, okay?" You explain.
"Okay Mommy." Jaehyun smiles.
You continue to drive in almost complete silence, except for the low volume music playing.
"Mommy?" Jaehyun pipes up again.
"Yeah?" You answer.
"The man told me to tell you he'll see you soon. Okay Mommy?" Jaehyun finishes.
Your stomach sank and so did your heart. You guys needed to leave. And you needed to leave tonight. You knew you needed to keep Jaehyun safe and at this point you didn't know if Baekhyun would come with you. Regardless you were leaving tonight, with or without Baekhyun.

A Kiss, and then a Bite (3) - Choi Soobin X Reader
Tumblr media
Warning: drinking, cursing, mature themes, vampire stuff haha
Summary: You knew something was off about your roommate Soobin ever since the beginning of your living arrangement. One night he reveals his true self to you, and you know you can never go back to how things were before. Not that you would want to, anyway.
Word Count: 2.2k
*cross-posted on ao3
part one! part two!
Song: Show Me the Real You by Moodring
“What?”
He pulled his face away slightly to your dismay. “I have a group of donors that offer their blood to me. There are benefits, you know.”
Dread filled you. Conflicting feelings swirled in your stomach. You wanted to keep experiencing that rush he gave you. It was as if you had gotten that ‘taste’, and now you wanted nothing more than to selfishly chase it. But joining his circle of donors was not in your best interest, you thought. You had no ill thoughts about those girls, but a small part of you wanted to mean a little more to him. This was a normal roommate feeling, right?
“Are you interested?”
Honesty poured out. “I don’t know if I can do that.”
“Let me explain more first, okay?” At your small nod, he continued. “Right now, I have four people who let me feed in rotation. That way none of them get too weak from giving all the time. In return, I try my best to take care of them.”
“What do you mean by take care?”
He straightened up entirely and effectively left your bubble. “I can’t just take and not give. It’s whatever they want: jewelry, clothes, money, anything.”
The words left your mouth before you could filter them. “So you’re like a sugar daddy?”
He laughed, and the pretty sound made you self-conscious. “I wouldn’t put it that way, but I mean I guess?”
“I’m not sure I can commit to something like that.”
Once again, his sincere smile pierced your resolve. “I’ll give you time to think about it. How does that sound?”
You smiled back weakly. “I’ll think about it.”
He nodded, then leaned in one more time to whisper near your temple. “Take all the time you need. It pleases me more than I can say to know you’ll be thinking about me.”
He left after that, and you were left stunned among the books.
Exactly as Soobin had said, your brain was completely consumed by thoughts of only him.
It didn’t help that you lived with the guy. In fact, it seemed you were seeing more of him these days. The man that once opted for holing up in his room to study, presumably, was spending his days lately studying at the dining area table. Every time you came home to find him there, he would simply smile at you then resume working. You couldn’t help but feel disappointed. In the back of your mind, you knew he was probably giving you space to make a clear decision about what you wanted, but you missed the small talk and casual mood of the apartment. Since that day at the library, the air always felt so charged.
It had been a little over two weeks since his proposition, and that meant it had been another two times he’d had other girls over to feed from them. Your feelings about this confirmed your previous notion that you probably shouldn’t agree to become one of his donors.
Whenever you reasoned with yourself that way, though, your thoughts would be blindsided with the memory of that night three weeks ago. The memory of his cold body pressed to yours, and the ghosting feeling of his teeth in your neck. Every time the feeling attacked your senses you shivered. Could you really live without feeling that again?
Maybe one more time would be enough.
The end of the semester was swiftly approaching, and although you knew this was the time to focus more on studying, your best friend had invited you to a party tonight to help you destress. He had assumed you were worried about your finals, but he had no clue you were occupied with giving Soobin an answer.
That was one of the hardest things, you decided, about this whole predicament. You couldn’t talk to anyone about it. Who could you turn to for advice without exposing Soobin’s secret? Who would believe you anyway?
What you hadn’t expected when stepping into the cramped house party was seeing your roommate there. Of course, you knew that Soobin went out to parties from time to time, but you hadn’t prepared yourself to see him like this. Around the apartment he would wear baggy sweats and his bangs would fall into his face. Not tonight.
When you entered the kitchen to get yourself a drink you felt his presence. Of course, when you looked to your left, there he was. You couldn’t help but give him a once over. His midnight black hair was parted slightly on one side, and he was wearing a gray hoodie with a dark green flannel jacket over. His big hands held a red solo cup, and the way he gripped it reminded you of his grip on your jaw. Feeling awkward, you continued your scan of him. His black jeans accentuated his long legs, and when you looked back up at his face he was smirking at you.
Oh shit.
The embarrassment of getting caught giving him an up-down made you quickly look away. Your eyes had other plans though, as you stole one more glance at at him. He was still looking at you.
‘Like what you see?’ He mouthed at you with his eyebrows raised. This time when you turned your head you didn’t dare look at him again.
Instead, you approached the kitchen island. There was such a large variety of drinks you didn’t know what to grab. You weren’t much of a drinker to begin with.
You could still feel Soobin’s eyes on you.
Your friend Yeonjun, who you had honestly forgotten was there, put an arm around your shoulders. “You don’t even know where to start, huh?”
Suddenly Soobin’s gaze on you and Yeonjun’s arm felt like too much. It’s not like Soobin didn’t know Yeonjun was your friend. He had come over to the apartment many times to hang out. However, you and Soobin’s relationship had been… weird, to say the least, and it made Yeonjun’s affection feel heavy now.
“What’s your goal for tonight, Y/N?”
Yeonjun’s voice broke you out of your thoughts. You turned your face to look at him, “What?”
He laughed. “Pay attention. I asked, what’s your goal here? A light buzz? Want to get fucked up?”
You didn’t hesitate. “I need to get fucked up.”
Another laugh. “Okay, I got you. I’ll make sure you get home tonight, so,” he grabbed a plastic shot glass and poured you some gin, “just let go and have fun.”
The gin burned on its way down, and when you exhaled roughly and set the shot glass down on the counter Yeonjun was already handing you a plastic cup. You took your first sip of whatever concoction of alcohol he had given you, and at that moment one of Yeonjun’s other friends called out to him.
“I’ll be right back, Y/N.”
“No worries.” You smiled at him, “I’ll find a corner to exist in. Hopefully there’s a dog or cat around here somewhere I can pet.”
He rolled his eyes at you and allowed himself to be pulled into another room by a boy you had met before a few times named Beomgyu. You were about to leave the kitchen as well when you felt something solid against your left shoulder. Without looking you knew who it was.
“You think you’re going to get fucked up on a vodka sprite?”
You turned your body to face him. “Oh, I’ll get there. Don’t worry.”
Soobin sighed lightly before pouring you another shot of gin. “What’s got you so worried you need to get drunk?”
You lifted the shot before taking it. It burned less than the first but still made you wince slightly. “I’ve been thinking a lot lately.”
His expression didn’t give anything away. “Well, I hope you come to a good conclusion.” He placed a hand on your shoulder before he walked past you and left you in the kitchen.
Unfortunately, you kept your word. You lost count of the shots you took and the drinks Yeonjun poured you. Of course, he was a good friend and tried to get you to take it slow, but when you started feeling buzzed you wanted it even more.
So when you were getting a little too drunk Yeonjun knew he had to cut in. He led you to the back porch of the house, and the cold air bit into your skin through your sweater.
“I’m going to go get you some water, Y/N. Stay here.”
You mumbled a response of agreement. After a few moments, you looked up at the sky. No stars. That was expected to be the case, with all the lights of the city polluting the atmosphere.
Without Yeonjun and his other friends to drink and laugh and talk with, your mind felt more clear. Maybe you weren’t sobering up yet, but just having a moment of clarity through the fog in your mind.
Would the cold ever not remind you of that night? Would you ever be able to feel cold again without thinking of his hands on you?
You felt someone sit beside you. “Yeonjun-.” You cut yourself off when you turned and saw it was your roommate.
“Not quite.”
Soobin handed you a water bottle, and you took it graciously. “Thanks.”
The silence that sat above the two of you wasn’t uncomfortable. Probably because your intoxication didn’t allow you to feel discomfort. You didn’t attempt to open the water.
“Yeonjun said he was going to take you home, but I offered to take you instead.”
“Why?” You sounded harsher than intended, but he didn’t seem phased.
“I mean, we live together. It makes sense.”
“You don’t want to stay longer?”
He looked at the sky and smiled to himself. Beautiful, you thought. “I’ve got my fill of human interaction for now.”
You laughed and joined him in looking up. “It’s weird when you say that.”
He put a hand on your knee, but you didn’t look. You willed yourself to not react to his touch. You weren’t sure if you succeeded in your drunken state. “Did I really stress you out this much?”
The softness in Soobin’s voice squeezed your heart. You caved and looked down at his hand before placing one of yours on top. “You didn’t stress me out. I wanted to drink because I was confused.”
His voice was quiet. “Confused?”
Your eyes met his. You found where all the stars were. “I don’t know how to act around you anymore.”
“Be you. That’s all you need to do.”
“But, don’t you want me to say yes?”
His smile seemed sad this time. “I do, but I won’t be mad if you say no.”
Your eyes traveled back to where your hand held his. “Why do you need me? You already have four other donors.”
He leaned closer to you and held his face near your neck. Your body tensed and your mind became loud. Was he about to do it? Here?
“I don’t want to be rude, but, your blood…” He trailed off, and you felt him inhale deeply. “I’ve never tasted anything like it.”
A shiver ran down your spine. Was it fear? Was it excitement? Nothing made sense anymore, especially not how much you wanted him to sink his fangs into you again.
“Do you want to taste it again?”
You felt his nose move against your skin as his face got closer to yours. “Does that mean you’ll do it? You’ll be my donor?”
Your stomach did somersaults at his words. You knew you shouldn’t. You knew it would inevitably lead you down the dangerous path of the unknown. You couldn’t have a normal roommate relationship with him anymore, or ever be his friend. Not if you agreed to let him do this.
But you needed it. You needed to feel that way again.
“Yes.”
He smiled against your jaw. “Yes?”
“Yes, so please, Soobin. Do it again.”
“You’re drunk.” He kissed your jaw before slowly pulling away. “I couldn’t do that to you now. Not like this.”
Your body followed his and you leaned into him. You were chest-to-chest, your eyes fixed on his, and you were so close you could feel his cold breath fan across your face. “Would I taste bad?”
Soobin chuckled lightly. “You could never taste bad to me, Y/N. But I’m not going to take advantage of you like that.”
You groaned, which made him laugh more. Then he stood and offered you his hand. “Should we go home?”
The idea of being home with him now after agreeing to be a donor made your brain feel like mush, but you took his hand and let him help you up anyway.
Before you could get very far though you felt your phone buzz in your pocket. A text, but you didn’t read who it was from. Your eyes got caught on the top of your screen. 1:07am. December 5th.
“Oh.”
He turned to face you. “Oh?”
You showed him your screen and smiled.
“Happy birthday, Soobin.”
