started a thread on twitter about things i'd want in a Genuine remake of Ocarina of Time and since i don't have any loz fuckers as followers there i thought i'd share here
after Link frees Nabooru from her brainwashing, there should be a follow up mini boss fight against Kotake and Koume where Nabooru is your ally in battle, and then you're both blindsided and Nabooru is kidnapped again
in Ganondorf's castle, when doing the barriers, each one should have a mini boss at the end that's a mockery of the sage the barrier represents. if we're doing vocal dialogue, the imposter should taunt Link with words regarding their relationship to him and his goal
could we PLEASE bring back the Light Temple and make it a real thing
and also the medallions need actual uses, not to just be quest items. idk what they would do, but they should do something! there was beta content that pointed to them being useful in some manner but it was scrapped in the final product
definitely more environmental storytelling is in order, especially in regards to the temples and their original purposes. i'm personally ready to do the hell out of some headcanon world building myself.
set in actual aftermath of clearing the temples, like unfreezing Zora's Domain after clearing the Water Temple. add bonus reasons to return to temples, like treasure hunting for rare items that have no bearing on the game itself.

do you think Ganondorf has like a soft spot? I'm so excited for your new fic! (^3^♪
Thank you!! I'm excited too!!
I don't know if I'd say that Ganondorf has a soft spot. I did see a post once--quite a while back, and I've lost it since--that points out that just before the final battle, he hesitates and looks at the blade of his sword where the names Kotake and Koume are written and goes on a little micro face-journey, as though realizing suddenly that his mothers are thousands of years dead. This is fascinating and I cannot begin to tell you how absolutely furious I am about it. By far the most interesting Ganondorf character beat in the game and it requires a quick eye, knowledge of a twenty-five-year-old game, and the ability to read Wind Waker Hylian at a glance to access. I'm so fucking mad. That's shit storytelling. Let me have that, let everyone have that. Why would you bury it in multiple levels of easter eggs!
sigh.
What I do think about Ganondorf is that he's lonely. Suffocatingly lonely. He was raised as the future ruler of his tribe, which has got to be isolating, and he's the only male in a culture that is, to put it bluntly, really weird about men. Exacerbating this, he's got... hm... very prescriptive ideas about how people should be especially wrt the obtaining and using of power, and he looks down on anyone who doesn't share or live up to those ideas. And how I've been writing him is as someone who spent so long lonely, with absolutely no hope of having that loneliness resolved, that he had to pretty much obliterate his own desire for connection in order to not be consumed by the feeling. It's been sublimated instead into (an even greater) fury at anyone who has the connection he's given up on finding, anyone who is able to treasure what he's come to hate.
But this, by the way, is the reason behind what was meant to be a very odd little moment at the end of "A Sense of Entitlement":
Ganondorf snickers. And for a moment, he almost thinks that Rauru is going to laugh along with him, turning this into a shared joke. Some strange thrill goes through him at that thought, before he remembers himself and twists it into disgust. There is nothing he wants to share with this man.
There's a part of him that still wants to connect to others and recognizes Rauru as a potential peer, but the dominant part of him knows that he has chosen not to be a person who needs that. So he scorns in himself even that momentary flicker of longing.
That's as squishy as Ganondorf-as-I-write-him gets.

Hyrule Warriors Ocarina of Time Ganondorf Playthrough
Fighter: Ocarina of Time Ganondorf.
Game: Hyrule Warriors, Wii U. First Released on August 14th 2014.
ENTRY WARNING: This post will contain some spoilers for Ocarina of Time, I know it’s old but still want to give a heads up on posts where I have to discuss a major plot-twist. It will go over events in the game which should be common knowledge by now, but if you really want to avoid any spoilers for OOT then I suggest not reading. There are also spoilers for a part of Hyrule Warriors story although despite that being newer I’m less weary of that but thought I’d mention it. Enjoy.
Fighter Bio.
Born to the Gerudo, a race of humans who live in Gerudo desert who are almost all females, Ganondorf was one of the only males who were born into the race once a century. Due to the rarity of this it was seen therefore that this gave the males a birthright to be the King of the Gerudo which Ganondorf grew up to be. Raised by his surrogate Mothers Koume and Kotake, two long lived witches with formidable magic power, Ganondorf became a ruthless tyrant possessed of great physical strength as well as skilled in magic. The Gerudo were often known through Hyrule as a band of thieves and as their King, Ganondorf was also known as the King of Thieves, a title which wasn’t inaccurate since he often pillaged and murdered to take what he wanted. This put him at odds with some of the other Gerudo including the highly respected Nabooru who was his second in command and secretly despised Ganondorf for his brutality. Ganondorf was not just pure brute strength however and calculated a plan to take the power of the Triforce, a treasure left by the Goddesses said to grant unlimited power for himself. To do this he required three spiritual stones as well as the Ocarina of Time to gain access. He attempted to take the stones through magic and trickery in each of the three lands they resided in but was not yet possessed of enough power to outright take them from those defending them, instead plaguing them with monsters that he hoped would force them to give up the stones to him. This was thwarted however when a young boy from the forest called Link managed to defeat all three beasts and gain the stones himself. Meanwhile Ganodorf’s other plan to get the Ocarina of Time was to make a false pledge of allegiance to the King of Hyrule in order to lower his guard, this would both keep the Knights of Hyrule from meddling too much in his plans as well as allow him to learn more of the location of the Ocarina of Time which was in fact in the possession of Princess Zelda. Zelda had prophetic dreams of Ganondorf’s true intent and was the one who sent Link on his mission to find the spiritual stones.
Following Link finding the third stone and returning to the Castle, Ganondorf seemingly learnt the location of the Ocarina of Time and decided to act, his forces invaded Hyrule Castle and in the surprise Ganondorf struck down many soldiers as well as possibly the King himself. Impa, Zelda’s nursemaid and bodyguard fled the castle with her on horseback which Ganondorf followed on his own horse. Outside of the castle Ganondorf lost track of them but came across Link. Seeing him as just a simple child he demanded to know where Impa and Zelda went but Link drew his weapon. Amused he simply blasted Link away and rode off trying to find Zelda himself. Zelda and Impa disappeared following this but unbeknownst to Ganondorf, in her escape Zelda had passed the Ocarina of Time on to Link. Link opened the Door of Time which was said to be the entrance to the Sacred Realm where the Triforce resided and found the Master Sword in the Pedestal of Time. Drawing the sword he was deemed by it not currently capable of wielding the legendary blade since he was a child and therefore was put into a stasis for seven years until he was old enough to. In the process of this however Ganondorf realised the gateway to the Sacred Realm which held the Triforce was now open and he entered thanking Link for leaving the door open for him. Taking the full Triforce however, his heart was deemed too unbalanced to wield its full might and so the only portion granted to him was the Triforce of Power, the Triforce of Courage and Wisdom flying off to find those in the land who were worthy of them. With the Triforce of Power alone however Ganondorf’s power grew exponentially to the point he was able to conquer Hyrule, decimating Hyrule Castle Town and rebuilding Hyrule Castle into his own Fortress.
Seven years of darkness passed with Ganondorf causing destruction and devastation across the world. He would influence those who had bad traits deep in their hearts to act upon them in service to him such as Ingo the beleaguered employee of Lon Lon Ranch who he gives full ownership of the Ranch to and demands the finest steed from for himself. He also wipes out the soldiers of Hyrule to the point none remain seven years later, freezes over Zora’s Domain, captures all the Gorons to imprison them in the Fire Temple, lets monsters run rampant across Kokiri Forest and frees many sealed away horrors from across Hyrule to serve him. The only place Ganondorf spares from his wrath is the Gerudo Desert, although he doesn’t give them any real help or power despite his new position as ruler of Hyrule and is definitely willing to punish any who turn on him such Nabooru. Feeling confident the other two Triforce holders would reveal themselves eventually Ganondorf bided his time. Seven years after conquering Hyrule he became aware that someone who seemed powerful and was a likely candidate to be one of the Triforce holders had travelled through the Forest Temple and defeated a Phantom replica of himself he’d created. Banishing this Phantom to the gap between dimensions following his defeat he personally praised Link recognising him as the boy from all those years ago and therefore likely a candidate for the Triforce of Courage. He tells Link that despite defeating his Phantom he doesn’t stand a chance against his true self. Eventually Link awakens the seven sages who he was advised to seek out to help him defeat Ganondorf and travels back to the Temple of Time. Sheik a mysterious warrior Link had met in his travels reveals themselves to actually be Princess Zelda who had been hiding from Ganondorf for all these years and now was in possession of the Triforce of Wisdom. With this reveal however Ganondorf immediately used his power to capture her and bring her to his Fortress, demanding Link come to save her. Link does so and discovers that this was what Ganondorf had been hoping for all along, that when he kills Link he can reclaim the Triforce of Courage and the Triforce of Wisdom from Zelda. Following a battle to the death Ganondorf was defeated and his fortress begins to collapse. Link and Zelda make a hasty retreat and narrowly escape. From the rubble however Ganondorf rises once again, this time fully powered by the Triforce of Power he transforms into a bestial form known only as Ganon. Link once again fights this beast and following a difficult fight knocks him down long enough for Zelda and the Sages to use their power to seal him away in the Sacred Realm. Ganondorf curses the pair and swears he will return.
Following the battle Princess Zelda sends Link back to his own time since she feels he’s earned the seven years of his life he lost when he drew the Master Sword, this leads to some difficult developments later down the line and through this act creates two different timelines, one in which Link disappears after going back in time and the other where Link returns to his child form. In this new timeline Ganondorf hasn’t yet launched his attack on Hyrule Castle and Link and Zelda are able to prove to the King of Hyrule his plan. Ganondorf is captured and sentenced to death by the seven sages of this time. Link will later leave Hyrule in this timeline and the events of Ganondorf’s execution lead to a whole other event, however that will be covered in another entry. There is one final branch to the timeline from these events however, probably the most important one to Ganondorf himself in Ocarina of Time, this is the Downfall Timeline. This is a timeline where Ganondorf defeats Link in the final battle killing him and claiming the entire Triforce for himself. With this unlimited power he threatens to take over the entire world, but the difference from before when he took over Hyrule is that the Seven Sages are awakened and a long war ensues. The Knights of Hyrule battle against Ganon and his forces whilst the Seven Sages work on sending Ganon into the Sacred Realm which is now transformed through his power into a place known as the Dark World. This event is known as the Imprisoning War and leads onto many other stories in this third branch of the Timeline.
Ganondorf is unique amongst the three Triforce Wielders in the Zelda series in that he is often the same person rather than a reincarnation. There are multiple versions of Ganondorf, however most of them are versions of the Ocarina of Time Ganondorf from different timelines with only one confirmed to be a whole new reincarnation. Due to this being his youngest incarnation this Ganondorf is a lot more brash, arrogant and reckless than he becomes in his later years. This Ganondorf is capable of cunning and willing to play the long game, however he does have a habit of sitting back and waiting for his enemies to move and come to him rather than actively seeking them out. He also therefore tends to underestimate his enemies since the vast majority of those he faces are able to do barely anything against him once he gains the Triforce of Power. In his older years he details his jealousy of Hyrule and how he saw his people suffering from living in an arid harsh desert compared to the green lands the Hylians enjoyed, he does seem to at least treat the Gerudo mildly better than the rest of the world when he takes control, however he doesn’t particularly help them despite his immense power once he gains the Triforce. This makes his claims of doing it for their sake ring somewhat hollow overall. He punishes those who fail or turn on him ruthlessly either banishing them to other dimensions or through his followers brainwashing them to serve as minions against his enemies. He relies a lot on his followers to take care of problems for him and prior to attaining the Triforce seemed fine with simply causing problems to blackmail others into doing what he wants in order for him to fix them such as blocking off the Goron’s food supply and promising to open the cave up again only if they give him the spiritual stone.
Friends: The only possible genuine relationship Ganondorf has is with his surrogate Mothers Koume and Kotake, however this is only ever shown from their loyalty to him and the high position he’s put them in rather than any interactions they have. Beyond this Ganondorf’s forces are loyal to him although it seems this is partially due to him filling the role of the King of Evil rather than true loyalty and respect, a role which in the past had been held by other evils such as Demise and Vaati. Ganondorf is fast to discard those who he deems useless or treacherous as shown when he banished his Phantom doppelganger to the space between dimensions following his loss to Link. Ganondorf has a large Gerudo Stallion he rides prior to gaining the Triforce, however in the future he seems to no longer use it which suggests it possibly didn’t survive or he simply had no further use for it. Ingo of Lon Lon Ranch was planning to give Epona the horse to Ganondorf as a gift which could possibly mean he needed a new one. Of note his Phantom doppelganger rides a ghost horse that looks similar to Ganondorf’s old one, so it’s possible this is the spirit of that horse although this is never confirmed. As King of the Gerudo, Ganondorf seemed respected somewhat but not seen with particular fondness even discounting those like Nabooru who turned on him. When Ganondorf is defeated some Gerudo are seen celebrating alongside the Hylians. Also notable in later games in the timeline many of the customs regarding the males born to the Gerudo becoming King seem to be disregarded and in the far distant future the Gerudo see Ganondorf as a stain on their history.
Enemies/Rivals: Being the main antagonist of the Zelda series as a whole there are very few characters who aren’t somehow negatively impacted by Ganondorf. His most notable enemy is of course Link, although in this incarnation he does not see the boy as a threat until after he’s grown up and even then seems to underestimate just how capable the Hero of Time is, telling him he looks forward to seeing his progress when he first becomes aware of him. Princess Zelda is his main enemy and his failure to track her down over the 7 years Link is in stasis is most likely one of the things that troubles him the most. Other characters Ganondorf either sees as simply an annoyance such as Darunia and the Zora King or does not realise the danger of such as the Sages. Before he gets the Triforce of Power, Ganondorf is a lot more subtle in how he acts attempting to trick the King of Hyrule and blackmail others for what he wants which means despite his arrogance he can recognise obvious threats to his plans and does not underestimate those in positions of power in Hyrule.
Crossovers with other Smash characters: Ganondorf has not made many appearances outside of the Zelda series and this specific version even less so. His only real crossover appearance is similar to other Zelda characters (and also the game I chose for this playthrough) Hyrule Warriors with him having his Ocarina of Time appearance as an outfit. With this he has crossed over with the majority of Zelda characters who have appeared in Super Smash Bros.
Why this game?
So the biggest reason for this is simply like other Zelda characters, this game is the only one outside of Super Smash Bros where Ganondorf is playable. There is another aspect that makes this even more important for Ganondorf than most others but I’ll detail that in the playthrough itself.
My past with this character.
I referenced this somewhat in my post on Bowser but since this is one of the ‘big three’ as I put it, I felt it needs to be restated. To me when it comes to Nintendo there are three main iconic villains that I believe set up the scale of evil, Ganondorf, Bowser and King Dedede. At the bottom end of the scale is King Dedede a villain who even at his worst is a petty greedy jerk and whilst not an outright joke has never actually enacted plans with aims much beyond simply stealing all the food in Dreamland, often his worst actions tend to have been done due to him being possessed and in recent years he actually seems to have joined Kirby more often than opposed him. Next is Bowser who is the most adaptable villain Nintendo has in my opinion, he can be involved in something as petty as trying to ruin a party to conquering the world with his army, travelling through time and even attempting to build his own galaxy, not to mention the amount of times he’s taken cosmic powers for his own. Then at the opposite end of the scale to King Dedede is Ganondorf, there’s no way he’d ever be the main adversary behind some simple minigame, face off against characters in competitions or actually put his differences aside to fight alongside Link and Zelda against another foe, Ganon will more often be the power behind that other foe (and has been numerous times to the point ‘highjacked by Ganon’ is considered a trope.) He will have some nuance and there’s still an origin to him beyond just being pure evil, however out of villains in Nintendo’s major series Ganondorf is the poster child for the most evil. I have realised writing this however that in recent years this idea I’ve had is perhaps now somewhat outdated, I don’t know if it’s fair to bring series like Xenoblade into this, but given the prominence of Fire Emblem nowadays at any rate means there’s arguably other villains who are perhaps more outright disgusting and twisted than Ganon tends to be, still when it comes to a more overt ‘King of Evil’ without being too tongue-in-cheek about it then Ganon’s still probably the top of the scale.
For his appearance in Ocarina of Time I always found it interesting how despite his size and artwork suggesting so, he’s a lot less hands-on than you’d assume. His sword in this incarnation has only ever been seen in a tech demo for the Gamecube and Super Smash Bros with his actual attacks in the game always being magic based which makes this incarnation arguably the most like a dark mage out of all of them. He has a pretty distinctive laugh which fits this arrogant younger incarnation with his other later appearances where he gets to laugh often having an older more unhinged feel fitting of how weary they often are in comparison. It’s interesting for Super Smash Bros Ultimate they decided to bring this version of Ganondorf back again, overall I think he definitely has a design that stands out more with his brighter red cape and hair than other versions of him, I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite, but I do like this version on the whole.
My Smash Playthrough.
So, the big reason I hinted to that Hyrule Warriors is important for Ganondorf and the best choice for my Smash Playthrough isn’t simply that he’s playable, but that he actually has his own storyline you can play through in the main game. I detailed the plot with Cia in Sheik’s post before but I purposefully left out what happens after her defeat. The heroes celebrate and peace returns to Hyrule, the locations brought from other times as well as the heroes brought with them all return to their original timelines and all is well, however without Cia sealing Ganondorf’s spirit, unbeknownst to the heroes he returns once more. The version of Ganondorf in Hyrule Warriors has a unique design which takes elements of a few of his main series designs but similar to Link, Zelda and Impa is meant to be a unique version of the King of Evil. With two villains that were summoned by Cia from other time periods and thought dead, Zant the King of Twilight and Ghirahim the Demon Lord now pledging their allegiance to Ganondorf he begins his campaign to take the Triforce for himself. What follows this is three stages of getting to fight as Ganondorf on his campaign, starting off forcing unruly monsters to follow his command, fighting the Gorons and then taking on Hyrule’s forces themselves along with Zelda and Link.
These levels are great, Ganondorf is set up so that playing as him feels a lot more powerful than any other character you’ve used in the story mode so far (even Darunia with his hammer) and getting the chance to actually be Ganondorf fighting Hyrule for the first time ever was to me as great as it could be. It’s only three stages and following it you take control of the heroes again now having to defeat a Ganondorf who has the full Triforce, but honestly for just plain fanservice fun I enjoyed it and I don’t know what more you could really expect from a Hyrule Warriors game (this was before things like Age of Calamity started being semi-canon etc of course). The best stage naturally has to be the final one of playing as Ganondorf where you have to fight the Hylian forces outside Hyrule Castle. This is a repeat of the very first map in the game but with a changed perspective of you invading the Castle this time. It also has what I considered the hardest boss of story mode and one who beat me multiple times which is taking down Link and Zelda. They’re both formidable and a lot more dangerous than anyone else Ganondorf faces and on top of that they have to both be beaten within a similar timeframe or else one of them will recover after a couple of minutes. If they reach one of the bases you’ve captured they can take it back and fortify it fairly quickly which makes taking them down even more of a priority, still I’d still say it’s more fun than frustrating (although it has frustrating elements to it.)
To play as Ganondorf is fairly enjoyable, as I said he feels powerful, but also his attacks are all fairly decent from what I remember, especially compared to other characters. He can be somewhat slow which is to be expected, although he later was given a second weapon being his Trident. Whilst this Trident isn’t from Smash so I didn’t use it, it is Ganon’s signature weapon going all the way back to the original Legend of Zelda on NES where he wielded it in his ‘pig’ beast form and is a lot faster whilst still being fairly powerful. Ganondorf’s main weapon has a darkness element and his Trident has a lightning element. Beyond this since I wanted to specifically go over this part of storymode in Ganondorf’s post there’s not a lot more to say, it’s a lot of fun and even with Age of Calamity later it’s still something unique in the whole Zelda series being able to play as Ganon fighting Hyrule. If you like the style of Warriors games and are really into Zelda I’d say it’s worth a look.
Specific aspects about the game relating to Ganondorf in Smash.
Before I begin about what I did in this game to setup Ganondorf, the most important thing with Ganondorf which has long been the elephant in the room in a sense relating to him is his Smash moveset. In Super Smash Bros Melee, unlike almost every other character whose moves are taken from their games or at least meant to represent what they could do (Captain Falcon for example having a lot of Falcon based moves and Fox using various gadgets) Ganondorf didn’t have anything from his appearances in the Zelda series starting off being a slower more powerful clone of Captain Falcon. Due to this all of Ganondorf’s moves were punches, kicks and grapples which beyond the rare attack he wouldn’t use in the Zelda series. With Super Smash Bros 4′s addition of custom moves he finally gained an attack involving a sword, however that I will cover in another post. The main thing of importance however is that in Super Smash Bros Ultimate Ganondorf was able to use a sword for some attacks for the first time, something that allowed him to be different to Captain Falcon but still (to me) kept enough of the feel of how he’s always played in the series so as to not make him feel like a totally different character.
The Great Swords are Ganondorf’s main weapon and based on his latest appearance in Smash Ultimate the closest you can get to his sword in that. Whilst not a perfect match, one of his Swords of Despair looks similar to what’s known as the ‘Spaceworld Sword’ which has only ever appeared in Smash and a demo at Spaceworld for the Gamecube and is the only sword the Ocarina of Time Ganondorf’s ever been shown to wield. There’s also an attack (YYYYX) that Ganondorf uses with the Great Swords which summons a dark ball of energy in front of him which he then performs a heavy punch on that shoots it as smaller dark energy balls in front of him. This move always looked very much to me the same as his Warlock Punch from Smash, with him pulling back slowly before performing the punch and the dark energy matching the dark magic that surrounds his hand in Smash Bros. Beyond this for Ocarina of Time Ganondorf, the Era of the Hero of Time Armour is the final thing needed to make him pretty much the closest you’ll get to Smash Bros OOT Ganondorf in another game. Ganondorf’s Final Smash being a transformation is fairly unique so I’m planning to cover that when I get to the posts for Bosses in Smash rather than here.

ships .. (legend of zelda) koume and kotake dragmire & (original character) s'avahili dragmire, (original character) s'avahili dragmire & (original character) kogagi senoage.
content .. after a horrible night's sleep, s'avahili is ambushed by her mothers.
word count .. 2645.
warnings .. not applicable.
notes .. i am so ready to write about the twins, ganondorf, and s'ava's family dynamic,, anyways i rewrote the beginning to fit like two edits i made to s'ava and idk if i edited it fully but i am not about to check 😁
previous .. masterlist .. next
S'avahili woke with her hands clawing at the jewelry that collared her neck, her nails broken and her skin bleeding with her teeth bared.
She stops when she's conscious and aware enough to take autonomy over her body once more, pressing her hands against her stomach instead.
Her eyes settle on the mural that coats her ceiling to take her mind off her injuries. It was old and chipped; her most treasured memories from the eras she lived long enough in.
She'd have to redo it all if she wanted it to survive another lifetime.
Sitting up, S'avahili takes the thick blankets that had pooled themselves around her hips. It was stupid, truly. It was always over a hundred degrees in the Gerudo Deserts and she couldn't stop herself from feeling a constant chill because of her curse.
S'avahili separates and layers them, a stark contrast to how they'd been kicked off into a tangled mess.
Her breath was strangely even. Something that never happened when she woke up from her memories.
She decides not to question it, thankful for feeling some semblance of peace.
(A millennia-long coma would have been more ideal, but she knows beggars can't be choosers.)
A groan leaves her when she takes the topmost blanket and slings it over her shoulders, the magic of it settling heat into her bones. The weight of her dreams (were they two, or just a long, arduous one?) makes its way to the forefront of her mind.
She can feel a painful headache coming on.
(Maybe one hard knock of her head against the clay of her wall would help.)
S'avahili rubs the thought out of her head, uncaring of the blood that smears itself on her forehead and hairline.
The knock of a fist just outside of her wall rouses S'avahili from her thoughts and forces her to try and make herself somewhat presentable. It was a rhythmic four knocks, a pattern only her most trusted assistant used.
"In," S'avahili grunts as loudly as she can while Kogagi flounders for words outside her room.
"Chief." The timid girl pushes the curtain out of the way so she's able to see into the sunlit room. Kogagi trails in with a beckon of S'avahili's tail, revealing the potions and strips of bandages for her hands. "Your mothers sent me as a reminder. They're in the bathhouse."
Holding her hands out for Kogagi to handle, S'avahili nods her head. Her hands were in too much pain to sign, but she was tired of responding so simply. "Know. Heal, too."
Kogagi seemed to have forgotten she had the items in her hands, looking down at them with wide eyes. "Y— Yes." She enters the room with an uneasy glide and sits at the foot of her bed. "We could hear you—"
S'avahili doesn't need her to keep speaking when she cuts herself off; she's smart enough to assume she'd begun snarling in her sleep.
"Thank you."
Kogagi looks more than shocked at her words. She looked like a doe in the eye of an arrow, hands pausing from where they hovered below S'avahili's. "You don't need to say anything!" She spoke fast, her words almost a blur to catch. "It's my duty."
(Did S'avahili truly not say "thank you," enough? She knows she tries to refrain from speaking too much and she was most used to nodding or signing her thanks instead.)
(She'd have to do so more often.)
A low, guttural noise leaves S'avahili's throat. An argument that she meant to come out as "I want to; it shouldn't be," but realizes it comes out more threateningly than she intended.
"Sorry," she groans.
Kogagi didn't flinch at her growl or freezing hands but does at her groan. "It's fine."
It falls silent between the two women as Kogagi finishes her work, holding S'avahili's hands between her own when she's through to blow a puff of hot air onto them.
She stands without letting them go, rubbing her thumbs over the backs of her hands. "I'll— uhm," she almost trips over herself and the painting tools that scattered the floor when she takes a step.
S'avahili shoots an arm out and stands with her, pulling her up by the hands that tried to circle hers.
Kogagi always was a clumsy girl, but it was S'avahili's fault that she tripped.
"Sorry."
"Please—" Kogagi steadies herself and removes her hands from S'avahili's. She stumbles, but not as badly as when she first stood. "— it's my fault."
S'avahili's lips fall into a frown as she watches Kogagi fumble around the potions they both seemed to have forgotten. There were six in total, two an infamous blue color while the other four were a fiery orange.
Holding the two blue bottles out, Kogagi thins her lips. "For your health and magic," she manages to say in a stable voice. She pushes them into S'avahili's hold who takes them without argument. "I told your mothers you've been feeling faint, so they made it stronger than they usually do."
S'avahili studies the liquids. There was a subtle difference in the blues' hue; a difference only her mothers would be able to make. She could hear the twin witches arguing over which ingredients and how much would do her best.
She downs it in two goes, one for each potion.
They were bitter and sweet, with a tangy aftertaste being left behind that they were known for leaving in everything they made.
She'd have to ask them to cook again sometime soon.
"For your chills," Kogagi says, holding the other four cautiously between her hands. "They said to limit how much you drink in one sitting and to spread it out; they don't want it to interfere with the Goddess' curse."
Taking two from Kogagi and holding them between her index and middle fingers, S'avahili measures one of the bottles before holding two of her other fingers against one in the other hold. She raises a brow to get her question across.
"About that much, yes."
S'avahili downs the amount before setting them back on her bed, taking the other two from Kogagi and setting them down beside their pairs.
It takes a moment for the magic to worm its way into the entirety of her body. It's an odd feeling when it does, but not one entirely unfamiliar to her. One final chill wracks through her body before she feels any semblance of warmth.
It's not a lot, but it works well enough to stop S'avahili's twitching fingers and occasional jolts; her tongue felt less like a frozen slab of meat in her mouth as well.
"Thank you," S'avahili rasps.
"Chief, please," Kogagi begs, "stop speaking."
"S'ava," she corrects. Kogagi always had the habit of speaking formally with the Dragmires, a habit that S'avahili wasn't particularly fond of. "Suh–ah–vuh," she articulates as best she can.
A pained look crosses Kogagi's face before it shifts to realization. "Okay—" She places her hands on S'avahili's elbows to get her to stop talking. "Okay, okay, okay— S'ava!"
An easy grin finds itself on S'avahili's face, her ears dropping against her neck. Her arms turn so they can instead hold hands. A happy groan leaves her throat, meaning it to sound somewhat like "good," before she lets go of Kogagi.
S'avahili waits for Kogagi to exit the room to turn away, staring down at the potions that sat on her bed. Her brows stitch together and her lips purse in disbelief.
They didn't even have corks.
Carrying a net and towel under one arm and a change of clothes under the other wasn't comfortable, but S'avahili had done it enough times that she could withstand the feeling.
Besides, most of her focus was on the conversation a Gerudo citizen had picked up after seeing her. Something about finding a husband and wedding preparations, she thinks?
That's what they were on now, at least; topics continued to switch and no doubt S'avahili was only strung on along the way.
The conversation continues for a few minutes even after they reach the entrance to the bathhouse, the woman finally bidding her farewell when someone calls her name.
S'avahili has to recollect herself before pushing past the curtain that led into the room. She could handle an unsolicited conversation; her mothers were an entirely other thing she needed to prepare herself for.
(Talking with them about her life hadn't gotten any easier since Ganondorf left.)
A scratchy "darling daughter," from Koume cuts through the air when S'avahili pushes past the curtain leading to the bathhouse. It was sickly sweet, a type that makes her a little more than aggravated and causes her intestines to knot together.
S'avahili lets out a low groan in greeting, hands undoing the string that held her robe together. She steps further inside the room that separates the outside world from the actual baths, waiting until she was closer to one of the many individual shelves that lined the walls to let it fall from her shoulders.
"She's finally here?" Koume's (rhetorical) question had come from behind the bath curtain.
She wastes no time floating through it, grabbing S'avahili's cheeks once she was within her reach. She turns her face this way and that, checking her neck and chin before moving down to her hands. "Kogagi did a good job, as always."
"You know I'd never pick anything less than the best, sister," Kotake practically purrs. She floats up beside her twin, takes S'avahili's other hand from her, and kisses both of her daughter's cheeks. "My daughter only deserves the best."
"Our daughter," Koume corrects.
"We are the same person at our core," Kotake hisses while yanking Koume's hair, "don't be selfish."
S'avahili takes a step away from the two when they start to bicker, picking her robe up from the ground and folding it before sliding it inside a shelf. She places her clothes for after alongside it, grabbing her net and moving into the bathroom.
"Where is she going?" Koume turns to her sister with an incredulous expression. "She's leaving us?— Where are you going?"
Furrowing her brows, S'avahili turns on her heel and tilts her head with a raise of her net.
"To bathe, idiot, the only thing you can do here," Kotake sighs with a roll of her eyes.
"Don't patronize us."
If S'avahili's tolerance weren't as high when it came to their antics she'd consider changing her name, permanently altering her face, moving back to Termina, and becoming a farmer. If her livestock didn't like her, she could offer her talents to a circus— she's heard that was a good way to build relationships with others.
If neither of those worked, she'd run off to Kokiri forest and slowly watch as her body turned into that of the a demon.
(Maybe, hopefully, Aram's mask still resided inside of it, maybe he still remembered her after such a long millennia.)
S'avahili bristles.
She flinches when two hands as cold as her place themselves upon her shoulders, almost slipping into the pool of water as she descends into it. "Mother," she groans as a low warning while shrugging her hands off.
S'avahili passes her net to her mouth, biting it after getting it soaked. The magical ointments of the water changed the scent to one of her favorites; Korok berries, amber, and a pure, icy smell.
"What are you thinking of, dear daughter?" Kotake instead works her hands up into S'avahili's hair, braiding it as best she can considering the lack of come to it. Her lips fall into a faux pout. "You know you can tell us anything."
"Is it about getting Gasli to finally bring those permanent icecaps? You know we've been begging for those forever! We've still trying to get that personal bath installed in your corner of the house!— .. Is— is she thinking hard? Is her forehead wrinkling?"
Koume forces her voice to carry from the storage room into the bathroom even though speaking would have been just as fine, busying herself with examining S'avahili's clothes. Kotake floats in front of S'avahili as she finished braiding her hair, rolling her eyes with a slight smile.
S'avahili returns the expression with a quiet snicker.
"Yes and no, sister," Kotake sighs while floating just over the surface of the water, a thin platform of ice forming beneath her that she sits on. "Why don't we send her on to their villages as well? Maybe she could bring them back with her."
"Oh! Yes! I love that idea! Add that to her list!"
S'avahili doesn't hesitate to lift her hands out of the water, ignoring the droplets that splash onto her face as she signs.
List?
"Chores. You're headed out to Kakariko, so we thought it best you deliver our gifts for Impa's birthday early, and then when you go down to Death Mountain, you can drop off the others for Dread's well wishes."
Kotake doesn't fail to notice the way S'avahili's eyes partially widen, brows furrowing as a knot appears between them.
"This has happened for centuries, daughter," she coos while rubbing the creases of her face away, "this isn't the first time he's lost an arm."
ALREADY?
Kotake snorts at S'avahili's genuine shock, forcing her hands back into the heated water so their temperature wouldn't lower. "He's already in his hundreds, he'll be fine."
Koume decides that's a good moment for her to make a reappearance, sitting at the lip of the bath to dip her legs in. "It's more shocking that you're surprised over that rather than your brother not losing himself yet."
S'avahili sinks in the water until her eyes are just barely above the surface. I have faith in my brother, she signs with a roll of her eyes. Much more than you two, seemingly.
"Is she in her hormonal stage?"
"Koume."
"I've told you about that frigid loneliness you both live in; look at where it's taken her!"
"You, my beloved twin, are impossible."
Raising her hands so they partially breach the surface, S'avahili clasps them together and allows the water between them to squirt out at Kogame before doing the same to Koume.
Please, stop talking about my love life, she signs when their attention was on her. I just want to bathe and leave.
Groaning at the way her hair frizzes, Koume rolls her eyes with a huff. "We're only concerned! It's been eight lifetimes since you took a lover that wasn't one of your friends. Family and friends can only do so much to sustain you socially, so we just want you to get out there."
"You want her to get back into the dating scene," Kotake corrects, unbothered by the water as she floats off of her pad of ice. She pushes Koume back away and through the curtain that led to the storage room. "I, myself, am fine with her choosing to be celibate."
"Either way, she needs someone in her life!" Koume doesn't stop bargaining even after she's taken away. "Her voice has gotten deeper; you've heard, haven't you? Remember the vocal coach we got her when she was young? Lorn, her name was? We should begin paying her to visit again."
"The girl doesn't speak, sister. Of course her voice is deeper."
"Just to be safe!"
S'avahili sinks further below the water when they're out of earshot, submerging herself up to the crown of her head.
Her body relaxes and she forcibly shoves her previous thoughts out of her mind. The scent of the oils in the water overtakes her senses, furthering her peaceful state of mind.
(Offhandedly, she wonders if the true reason Ganondorf left was because of Koume's constant talk of romance and Kotake's complete lack of interest.)
Taking her net and spreading it to make sure everything was moisturized, S'avahili breaches the water and begins bathing herself.
"OH! AND ONE LAST THING!"

Just Mia trying to connect with her horror-loving, ghost-talking daughter by showing her the Vincent Price and Alice Cooper episodes of The Muppet Show (Mia grew up loving the Muppets and treasuring her dad's appearances on Sesame Street).
"Heey," Koume says, "That's Grandpa's song!"
"Well, Carole King wrote it," hedges Mia, her songwriter side wanting to make sure writers are properly credited. "But yes! Your grandpa made it a hit."
"Neat," Koume says. "That girl really likes this version too."
Mia suppresses a shudder as the autoemtionconverter Rina-chan Board hanging on the wall flashes a big smile; That Girl occasionally possesses it to engage with the rest of the family. Rina always seems to deal better with the haunts than she does.
Actually, given Koume's design — blonde hair covering one eye, hands perpetually in her sleeves — I suddenly want to have an AU where she's the daughter of Mia and Rina.
("Shirasaka" would, in this context, be a stage name that she came up with so as not to be either overshadowed by or receive favoritism because of her moms — both idols, one a groundbreaking technologist and the other a legendary singer-songwriter — or their families: in this version Rina's parents would indeed be diplomats — we'll say Rina's mom is the Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations — and of course the Taylor Family is famous. And in that connection, I bet Koume would really like the Muppet Show sketch where Vincent Price and Uncle Deadly sang "You've Got a Friend".)

General HeadGanons
hhaah I think I’m funny. First headcannon!
Warm reddish brown skin
Get that green shit outta here
Mhaps he’d have dark freckles or marks along his skin
Is totally space heater you cannot change my mind
Long dark red hair
Often tied up in a ponytail, small braids, or wild
Can have facial hair, young gerudo ganon will not
Wears typical gerudo fashion
Is def adorned with jewelry: gold, ruby, tigers eye, sapphire
I will not forgive you if he doesn’t have nipple piercings
Earthy/Desert style clothing/armor
Blues compliment him in my opinion
Big knee high boots
This man wears loose wraps when he escapes his Kingly duties
Very broad chested
Yes he has chest hair. No I will not change my mind
He towers over most Gerudo, Rito, Zora, and Hylians
There are exceptions like the royal line of Zora and around the same or taller with Gorons
Ganon should be around 9’10ft 600ish pounds
May have a few scars but I’d say you could count them on two hands
HaS ShArP CaNiNeS FIGHT ME
Mostly muscle but I’d bet that he does have some soft pudge to his tummy like I’d say it’s probably got to do with having kingly desk duties and overseeing tasks etc.
Under cut for nsfw and his personality
Speaking of desk duties I’d kill to suck his dick at the throne room in the botw gerudo castle with all the water flowing and the aesthetic atmosphere
His hips? On god they are divine the v leading down with like stray beauty marks?
I think his dick would probably be a good solid 8 or 9 inches
I’m not sure if its common or not for circumcising in loz? So it’s up in the air
Anyways I’d say it’s def on the large side of dicks. Probably on the girthy side
Has a good weight to it. Veiny yes nice slight curve that just hits differently
I have my own prefs for pubic hair it’ll differ for others
In my opinion I’d say he’d probably have it a bit unkempt. A slightly darker color red then the rest of his hair.
He may have piercings..who knows
His personality
He’s got a hearty, overconfident, perhaps a little abrasive personality
Raised by Warriors, Single mothers, and Traveling Merchants in the hot desert sun really gives character (or if you want to go by Canon the Twin Sorcerers Kotake and Koume)
I mean afterall according to Gerudo law when a male is born he is to be their kingSo I assume he never really had all that time with his father
His mother might move back home to the village but I just don’t have all the facts
He’s absolutely got a serious side to him quite terrifying
It reminds people that he is King and he does wield the Triforce of Power
He’s usually very charismatic and pretty much an epitome of an amazing King
NOthing like King Roam. King Roam is shit
King Ganon cares about his people and actual thinks shit through
He looks like a himbo but is too cunning for that
That’s not to say young ganon wouldn’t it’s all about experience
Young ganon has himbo tendencies but only when like dared to do things or bored
He’s the stupidest smart person I know
Hey dare him to shield slide down death mountain and watch this crazy bastard do it
He has a surprising amount of compassion for his people and their culture
So proud of his people and how far they’ve come
Would show you his view of the world that he’s come to love and respect
has a very hard time being “lazy”
bring this man to BED his stress is crazy
His soft side does extend for his s/o’s or any who come under his care
Wants to treasure and cherish s/o so deeply
So gently does he treat his s/o his heart belongs to them
Make no mistake he could crush you in an instant but you would render him so much more pain than he could ever inflict upon you
The man just wants to be able to prove that he’s not destined for evil
That he can love and be peaceful and kind

During a chat, a very good friend pointed out how irritating it must have been for Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time to have a Hylian come into a Gerudo temple, swipe what's clearly a Gerudo treasure, and use it to kill his moms.
Then I remembered that in the Japanese version of Wind Waker, Ganondorf's twin blades are inscribed "Koume" and "Kotake", the names of his moms.
A defeated Ganondorf, trapped beneath the ocean, crafted two blades and named them after his dead mothers, with the intent to use them to kill the next hero.
How poetic and awesome is that?

The Legend of Hilda:Her Wish, Chapter 28
Rating: M
Fayre moved down one of the corridors of the temple in quick, long strides, fighting the urge to curse, for fear that Koume and Kotake might be monitoring her even now. But this was not her only worry. Fayre had lost her way. She'd traversed these hallways countless times, but with her thoughts and concentration so disordered, she must have taken a wrong turn. She slammed her wrists against a wall, sliding down to sit in the sand.
Were she able, she'd have turned the twins into insects and crushed them. But alas, Fayre had already reached her peak in magical abilities some years ago; perhaps even before Yuga was born, and it wasn't nearly enough to counter the twin's terrifying powers.
She wrapped her arms around her bent knees. There was something about the way Koume spoke to her that could twist her insides and push her over the edge into an intense scorn she'd never thought herself capable of.
Disgusting old hag! I didn't just give birth to the once in a century male, I am the mother of the man who bears the soul of the Demon King. You should have some reverence for me...
She felt as though she could tear the whole world asunder, but when she finally spoke aloud her voice came out weak. "I'll do anything to save him."
And then she heard a cold, still voice whisper.
Dear woman... Would you take his place?
Fayre jumped to her feet. "Who... Who's there?"
The voice sounded as if it were right in her ear, but she was alone. She wondered for a moment if perhaps one of the twins was playing a prank on her, but the voice hadn't at all sounded elderly or grating like the sisters. No, the voice was her own, just colder somehow.
Now I'm hearing voices in my head. Splendid...
Fayre wiped her face, slowly gathering her bearings and beginning to backtrack, observing her footprints in the sand. After some time she finally saw natural light pouring in from the entrance. As she approached, she heard the chatter of women. Fayre exhaled and hurried towards the light and the voices, coming face to face with a small collection of sorceresses who'd gathered at the temple entrance. Before Fayre knew it, they were crowding her.
oOo
In no time, Fayre's long-held secret had spread throughout Misery Mire. No, her son wasn't dead, as many of the sorceresses had for so long speculated when their sister, Fayre went silent and distanced herself from them. At first, Fayre was reluctant to divulge the truth. Yet, she knew she could no longer keep them from the truth, nor could she hold her peace. The women were agog when she explained that Yuga had in fact been living at the castle all those years. Fayre was shocked and relieved to hear the different reactions. Some reacted with jealousy, having the basic knowledge the current sovereign of Lorule was a young woman, but none had the same vitriolic views the twins held. Many of them were more than happy to help gather the materials she'd need to craft a garment fit for a king of Misery Mire and once she had them she rushed back to the temple.
"I have everything," Fayre announced, out of breath, upon entering the inner sanctum where she'd left Yuga with the twins.
Yuga, who seemed to be caught up in the middle of one of Koume's tirades, appeared relieved to see his mother.
"It is about time," Koume said curtly.
Fayre approached Yuga and he looked with some confusion at the bundle of materials she held.
"Can I at least hold on to what I'm wearing now?" He asked quietly so as not to be heard by the twins. "I don't have much else as a gentle reminder of who I once was."
A sympathetic smile crossed Fayre's lips. Was being an advisor to the princess of Lorule really more important than being a king to his people? "Perhaps it's best if I hold onto them for safekeeping." Fayre replied, reassuring him. "For now, you may hold onto your staff if the matriarchs see it as a benefit to you." Fayre looked past Yuga, seeing the twins were looking on with impatience.
The white-haired woman raised a hand and closed her eyes, concentrating. In the blink of an eye, Yuga's royal robes were replaced with a much more colorful ensemble made from beads, semi-sheer fabric, and jeweled accents. The outfit looked quite ancient in origin compared to normal Lorulean fashions. Even his makeup had been refreshed so that it was no longer smeared in places from perspiring.
Yuga took a moment to look himself over and when he looked back at Fayre she held his robes and shoes, neatly folded in her arms.
"... I look completely ridiculous."
"You look... very regal." She smiled, proudly. And he did. At least in her opinion. Still, she couldn't help but feel sorry for everything he was going through, and for her part in it. Which was why she would keep her word to hold onto his treasured possessions.
"What an improvement!" Koume crowed.
"Indeed, Sister!" Kotake agreed.
"For once you've done splendidly, Fayre. You may go now. His Grace still has much to hear from us." Koume said.
Fayre cleared her throat. "I believe it's time the king addressed his people and to become reacquainted with our ways."
"Oh?" Koume paused. "Very well then. Make sure he returns here as soon as he is finished."
Fayre smiled. Perhaps she hadn't completely lost her will to stand up to the twins after all.
Fayre nodded to Yuga and he reluctantly followed.
oOo
They were passing through the sand-filled hallways when Yuga spoke up.
"You're sending me out dressed like this?"
Fayre looked back, giving him an incredulous look as if already wise to where he was taking this. "Yes. Why not?"
"I haven't forgotten Misery Mire's key demographic."
"Which is?"
Was she really playing this game with him? So he replied as plainly as he knew how. "There are women and children around! Some of whom have never seen a man before!"
Fayre burst into a gale of laughter. "Women and children who see you as their king. Yes, they might gawk, but that's about it. It is strictly forbidden to use black magic to court our king. And besides, you have a healthy physique. No reason to dress like someone's grandmother, as you were."
"You...You're supposed to be someone's grandmother!" Yuga hissed. "Now, I'd advise against your smart-mouthing any further... And... That's not what I was concerned about!"
"Oh?" Fayre smiled, clearly not convinced. "Then my comments about your preferred manner of dress stands," she said, unruffled.
Several moments of silence passed between them. Yuga was dragging his feet, and Fayre wasn't in a rush either.
Yuga's thoughts drifted to Hilda. What would she think of his new clothes? She'd certainly seen him in far less. The human form was one thing; This gaudy thing was an atrocity.
"You didn't use Black Magic to get her, did you?" Fayre said knowingly as if reading his thoughts.
Yuga responded without missing a beat. "Certainly not! I wouldn't resort to such a barbaric spell to force her affections. It wouldn't be genuine."
"Hmm. I thought so." Said Fayre, satisfied, although sounding a bit slighted by his answer, and Yuga knew why.
"I can't say the same of you and father. It's why he resented me so."
Fayre gaze dropped to the floor. "Forgive me. I was only following the customs of my sisters. But, I don't regret it. Being the one to bear the once in a century male was the best thing that ever happened to me. I certainly never dreamed my child would have a connection to the goddesses, much less the Triforce. I had little to no knowledge of those things before you, really."
Yuga touched the top of his hand, where Beauty rested. "And yet, I chose you... I chose you to be the vessel that would help me reincarnate into this lowly world known as Lorule." He mused to himself.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Fayre raise her chin. Perhaps she was about to inquire of him further, but she held her silence as they approached the entrance of the temple.
She led him back down the temple staircase and into the village proper. The sorceresses along their path dropped to one knee as they came near, some daring to look up to catch a glance of the face of their king. They weren't looking at him the way Hilda's servants did, with sneers and derision. Yuga hadn't been prepared for this reaction, too concerned with his manner of dress. He simply walked in time with Fayre, speechless. He searched her expression. He didn't see the cowering, weak woman under the thumb of the matriarchs. She held her head high, walking with purpose and an inner strength he hadn't expected from her. She was smiling, faintly, but it was the sincerest smile he'd seen from her yet, even more so than when she laughed before at their banter.
His gold anklets clinked as he walked slowly, unaccustomed to walking barefoot out of doors. He grimaced feeling mud under his feet. Not to mention mosquitos were eating him alive.
At last, they reached the center of the village and Fayre came to a stop. The sorceresses were gathering around them, and Fayre turned to Yuga, dropping to one knee, her head bowed.
The women were looking at him expectantly as if waiting for him to speak. He had not been prepared for this either, and so, he took a breath and began, relating the only things he could think to say.
"My name is Yuga. I represent the Princess."
Yuga looked around. Some of the sorceresses were looking up at him now, confused, but still eager to hear what he had to say. "Her name is Hilda, but I refer to her as Her Grace because she truly is... But there is a certain one among you who betrayed me and fed Her Grace lies – a sorceress who became an oracle of the goddesses. I need your help in locating this wretched woman so I can have my revenge. I may never regain Her Grace's trust, and that is why the oracle must suffer a fate worse than death for what she has done to Her Grace. To me. To us..." Yuga's voice faltered. He stopped to regather his composure, surveying the bewildered expressions of the women. The crowd was painfully silent, yet Yuga could only continue, unable to stop the words from coming forth as if compelled by some divine force.
"I refuse to remain here, in this gloomy, dismal place. If any of you feel the same, I can help you leave Misery Mire as well. The people of her court recently abandoned her and I know it would ease her suffering if any of you would go and pledge your loyalty to her, just as I have from the beginning."
In front of him, Fayre closed her eyes, that smile of hers melting into one of pained disappointment as she hung her head, her hair nearly touching the ground.
Yuga's heart sank, but what could he say? He was convinced he was just as miserable as she was, if not more, and so he offered an apology, which, regrettably, could only drive the knife deeper into whatever hurt Fayre was experiencing. "I seek nothing less than perfection... Which is why I can't be your king..."
oOo
Yuga jolted awake, breathing deeply, the residual unease of the day not having left him. At first, he could scarcely remember where he was, but then it all came back to him. The Twins sat in a kneeling position on high pillows a few feet behind him, watching.
Yuga narrowed his eyes at them. He'd barely had a moment of privacy since he'd arrived. Did they not require sleep?
"Your Grace, we still have much to impart to you as you sleep."
Yuga soon recalled the nightmare that had ripped him from sleep Would the matriarchs somehow know he had no interest in their plans for him, and Fayre pay the price? He knew he shouldn't have said what he did earlier, but oh goddesses, he just couldn't stop himself.
"Where is my... Where is Fayre?"
"She has returned to her hut. She will surely be back in the morning."
Unsatisfied by this answer, but feeling the weight of the matriarch's stares, Yuga settled back into the woven blankets of the makeshift bed. He closed his eyes, willing himself to dream an endless dream. Of a life with Hilda that would never come to pass.

Can you tell us more about the kanzashi Koume-san was wearing during her sakkou period? It seems quite unusual!
The kanzashi she’s wearing is a Takarabune (宝船), a ship that contains the treasures of the Shichifukujin (七福神), the seven lucky gods. It was ordered from famous Tokyo kanzashi maker Meikoukai and has been used by almost every Kaden girl since Kosen for their erikae.

Hyrule Encyclopedia, Page 16
(translation under the cut)
Great Demon King Ganondorf (Ganon)
The leader of the Gerudo, a tribe of chivalrous thieves who make their base on the edge of the western desert. Also called Ganon. As there is a custom that the one Gerudo male born every hundred years will be their king, he was raised so that he would become this king. He was ambitious, and he rebelled against the Gerudo's condition as a tribe of bandits. He engaged in inhuman behavior such as killing and stealing from the weak. He can also wield magic, and he has come to be called the Demon Thief.
After Hyrule's war of unification, the entire Gerudo Desert fell under the control of the Hyrulean monarchy. As the leader of the Gerudo tribe, Ganondorf swore loyalty to the royal family of Hyrule. However, this was a scheme aiming for Hyrule's hidden treasure, the Triforce.
Ganondorf touched the Triforce but was unable to use it properly, so he was left with only the Triforce of Power. He tried to take possession of the remaining two pieces of the Triforce, but during his fight with the hero he lost control of his power and transformed into a monster. He was sealed in the Sacred Realm by the six Sages. Since then, he has continued to be revived and sealed in the battle over the Triforce.
[ Captions ]
(1) The Triforce is divided into three parts, and Ganondorf is left with only the Triforce of Power. This is the underlying cause of his fate.
(2) Hyrule Castle transfigured into Ganon's Castle.
(3) Playing the pipe organ on the highest floor of Ganon's Tower, Ganondorf awaits the arrival of the hero.
(4) The parents who raised Ganondorf, the twin witches Kotake and Koume.
(5) Phantom Ganon, a monster Ganondorf created as an illusion of himself. As with Puppet Ganon, he makes use of monsters styled after himself as tools.

Chronological Appearances of Ganon/Ganondorf
There are titles in which he only appears in the form of Ganon, titles in which he transforms from a human into a monster, and titles in which he doesn't transform. Since the episode in which he is first shown as a human is clearly Ocarina of Time, he doesn't appear in Skyward Sword, which took place long before he was born. Nevertheless, the root of all evil [literally "the wellspring of magic"] Demise is vaguely reminiscent of Ganondorf.
The Legend of Zelda The Demon King Ganon who seeks the Triforce. The boss of the monsters who takes a shape resembling a pig.
A Link to the Past Ganon, who schemes to return to power from the Dark World. The Sages speak of a time when he was once human.
Ocarina of Time The Demon Thief Ganondorf, who touches the Triforce in the Sacred Realm. He transforms into Beast Ganon and is sealed away.
Oracle of Seasons and Ages He is resurrected by the Twinrova. Because the ceremony was incomplete, he exists in a state of mindless rampage.
The Wind Waker He wakes from the seal of the gods and searches for the descendant of Princess Zelda. He falls without becoming a monster.
Four Swords Adventures Ganondorf is reborn, but he violates the laws of the Gerudo, takes the Trident, and becomes a monster.
Triforce Princess He was banished to the Twilight Realm, but he escapes by making use of Zant. He fights in various ways, such as on horseback and as a monster.
A Link Between Worlds The Lorule sorcerer Yuga uses the Sages to summon the soul of Ganon in order to acquire his part of the Triforce.
