Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara launches July 27

Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam on July 27, publisher and developer Chibig, and developers Talpa Games and Undercoders announced.

In Europe and Asia, physical editions are due out via distributors Tesura Games and Piiki between August and September. Pre-orders are available now.

Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara is an action adventure game where you will sail through a new Mara archipelago, divided into eight worlds.

Several levels with emblematic locations to enjoy in each world, where you will face different obstacles and traps with progressive difficulty to finally challenge the five most famous pirates of the Mara sea.

Fortunately, our dear Napopo, Koa’s best friend, will be with us always ready to help in our backpack. Thanks to Napopo we will have skills and special moves such as the bomb-jump, the jet-jump, the somersault, the ultra-speed, and diving.

The ocean of Mara connects the different islands that we will visit. Thanks to the pirates’ maps we will open new routes and the improvements of our ship will help us to reach every corner of the archipelago.

We will collect lots of seashells along our adventure that we can exchange in Qalis to acquire new items, clothing, or improvements to the city. Step by step we will return the peace and the stolen treasures where they belong.

Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara is a really good 3D platformer where you play as Koa on her quest to retake what the pirates stole from her town. While not revolutionary, it's still a fun take on the genre. Sometimes fun is good enough.

I don't really play platformers but I like Chibig's other games, so I took a chance and bought Five Pirates of Mara while it was on sale

and so far I really like it!

I'm certainly not good at it lol, I find the controls a bit confusing sometimes (like why do sprint and roll have to be the same button :/) also it's a bit weird to have the same settings and characters across two completely different games but it makes for a very colourful world, and the familiarity definitely helped ease me into the gameplay

but it's fun, cute and seems well put together to my inexperienced eye :D
