• Haizaki struggled alot to to comes to terms with his sexuality because of internalized homophobia and repression. And with his feelings for Kise.
• Haizaki hates physical contact but is touch starved and only willingly to let Kise touch him during sex. But, eventually lets Kise touch him without sex being involved.
• Haizaki's got alot of trauma cuz his family's shit (a theory) and doesn't trust people easily. It took alot of patience and effort for Kise to gain Haizaki's trust.
• Haizaki uses sex as a coping mechanism. So, whenever shit happens at home. He seeks out Kise and Kise always gives into him even though he knows its unhealthy for Haizaki.
• Haizaki bottoms because it's the only way he'll get his mind off of shit. He also just likes Kise's dick.

• Kise drags Haizaki to places ie the mall or hangouts with the Miracles because Kise believes Haizaki needs to spend time with people other than Haizaki's toxic family
• Haizaki just goes along with whatever Kise wants because Kise is stubbornly annoying. Definitely not because Haizaki has a huge soft spot for Kise.
• Haizaki loves horror movies and Kise hates them but watches them with Haizaki anyway. It's also an exuse to have Haizaki hold him.
• Kise strongly believes in aftercare after sex.

Review: Bandai S.H.Figuarts Makoto Kikuchi
Tumblr media
Introduction:
Bandai S.H.Figuarts (SHF) is a popular line of high quality collectable figures made by Bandai. The toyline debuted in 2008 and is targeted towards the adult fans of the series with its higher price and show-accurate detailing of the figurines. The line started in Kamen Rider THE NEXT series and has expanded to many franchises. In this review, it will focus on Idolmaster character after for so long that Figma discontinued the line. From Figma to Bandai it's no surprise since idolmaster was originally owned by Bandai Namco, I'm guessing Good Smile Company discontinued the line because of either license problem and for sure low sales. In this release, Idolmaster is commemorating the inauguration of the Tamashii Nations ambassadors. Together with the producer, a special project to decide which members will be made into figures. The five members selected for the "Dancing Idol" theme are Makoto Kikuchi, Seira Mizuki, Ayumu Maihama, Ren Kizaki and Asahi Serizawa. Makoto Kikuchi is unfortunately another Premium Bandai (P-Bandai) releases so, she gets that brown case but, in this review I bought her second handed so, her actual brown case is a mess from the previous owner. Her main packaging, she was packaged with removable box sleeve in which features a gorgeous art of Makoto Kikuchi in both sides, the front part is mostly featured Makoto Kikuchi in the spotlight black with magenta gradation background with magenta layout. While the rear part also featured 2 identical Makoto Kikuchi artworks bust and full body with magenta and white colored background and there's a gold printed sign of Makoto Kikuchi herself. I know it's a gorgeous piece but, it's kind of boring to only feature a multiple same identical artwork front and rear. Her main box art is a classic window styled box which we can see the contents. The overall box art is black colored, the front part aside the window there's the usual promotional photo of the figure of Makoto Kikuchi with magenta colored star background as well as her name and the brand and the line logos. The rear part we get to see the entire background is mostly magenta and white, and features the product's promotional photos showing the figure's overall capability as well as the accessories. There's also the warning sign and the figure is for 15 years and up due to their small and sharp parts. I like how they kept the traditional looking box art on this one tbh, and unlike the box sleeve the main box art is mostly showing her promotional photos of the figure instead of her artwork.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Contents:
Out from the box, Makoto comes with her main figure, 4 option face parts, 8 option hand parts, 1 microphone and dedicated stand set. Pretty standard for a P-Bandai I gotta say.
Tumblr media
Character introduction:
Makoto Kikuchi is an idol from 765 Production who lives in Shizuoka. She was introduced in the arcade game. She has made appearances in every console game that features 765 Production. Makoto is known as "The Pretty-boy Idol" and prince of 765 Production. She has more female fans than male ones and is very popular at her all girls high school. She is an energetic, determined and honest girl who deep-down wishes to make herself more feminine. She is very confident in her dancing skills, and though being self-taught, she is known to be one of the best dancers in 765 Production. Makoto also loves to do sports, in fact before her idol debut she used to train at an Aikido dojo near her house, leading her to also be physically strong. Makoto's family consists of herself and both her parents. Her dad is a professional race car driver who wished to have a son, and therefore has raised Makoto as a boy, leading to her tomboyish demeanor. After Makoto one day discussed with her dad how she wished to be more feminine, her dad came to the conclusion to make her an idol, and introduced Makoto to 765 Production. She is voiced by Hiromi Hirata. Well, despite how tomboy she became, she's still wanting herself to be feminine in her heart.
Tumblr media
Makoto's hair has always been depicted to have dark grey short hair with side layered bangs, in this conversion I gotta admit Bandai did quite well but, not really a fan of her rear hair which looks like a bunch of leaves. Her proportions is shown to have slender body and she's wearing an original Tamashii Nations costume, which mostly feature black colored costume with red and some gold trims, it is inspired by the Tamashii Nations brand. Her costume consists of hair pin, choker, semi long sleeved vest with red and gold trim, sports bra, a pair of gloves, skirt with belt and ornament, spats with choker, two thigh chokers on her right thigh, long boot that stands to her lower right knee and long boot that stands to her left thigh. Gotta say the costume looks typical to idol getup which is very stylish and stand out but, kind of elegant because of the color.
Tumblr media
Despite her costume, her articulations is pretty easy to move around so, we can make tons of pose for this figure. She got over 21 articulation points in total but, what surprises me she's given with a double jointed elbow despite the small size of her arms and articulated lower neck. Also, part of her costume cleverly hides her articulations such as choker that hides her neck cut, spats and boots that hides the cut of her legs. Since Makoto's characteristic is a tomboy and she had been portrayed as a martial artist, recreating a battle pose for her would be convenient enough especially with those pretty boy expressions.
Tumblr media
Makoto comes with 5 interchangeable face parts in total; the one which already attached to her face is a standard smile expression, 2nd would be her tomboy/pretty boy expressions with open mouth smile, 3rd is the same like 2nd but, winking her right eyes while her left eye is looking to the left, 4th is special grinning expression with closed eyes showing her feminine side for the producer and last one would be her expressive face during her certain pose which I'm not quite familiar if this is her usual expressions from the game, since I only watched first anime and read certain mangas. Her expression is shown to have surprised eyes with a smile that barely exposing her tongue. Frankly, her standard smile and that expressive face are not that great with her mouth being light colored, because she looks mouthless in certain lighting and unfortunately I don't have a proper lighting for my photoshoot. But, her other faces are pretty good and convenient to make 2 side of Makoto.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Makoto is included with a microphone to recreate her singing pose and 8 interchangeable hands in total, that would be: a pair of open palm hands which already attached to her figure, a pair of pointy finger hands for recreating certain idol pose or other purposes, a pair of grasping hands for holding her microphone, a pair of fisted hands for recreating idol pose that uses her expressive face part or you can also use them to make a fighting pose for her, a left relaxed chopping hand for making her looking over and a right open splayed hand for shake hand with another Dancing Idol figure, in the promotional photos Makoto is shown to shake hand with Ayumu Maihama. But, in my photo session she's handshaking with my custom Takeshi Hongo a.k.a. Kamen Rider 1 figure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lastly, a dedicated stand set is included as well for her to display the figure without worrying to fall. Her stand set consists articulated clear pole and clear mandibles, while her base stand is clear dark red instead of magenta, the base is printed with a symbol for Makoto herself depicting like a Makoto's head as an angelic girl, I'm not sure with the actual ACG stands for but, could be Anime, Comics and Games? Her base also printed with her name and probably product code as well as ©T.K. (Toru Kitajima?) ©BNEI (Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc.) China.
Tumblr media
Thoughts:
As one of collectors who used to collect SHF and Figma, this Makoto is a big improvement compared to SHF SailorMoon. Although still not quite a fond of her head and face compared to Figma idolmaster series but, I can see their improvement which is good. For a second hand, she plays pretty solid so far, my only issue is only on her standard smile face part which I spotted black dots that cannot be cleaned somehow. Luckily, the spots are located where her fringe covered her face so, when attached the spots aren't noticeable  but, still bothersome to see when I remove her fringe. I got this second hand for $32.16, complete with her brown case but, I didn't take photo of her brown case since it's slightly peeled and there's alot of seal traces. Tbh aside her luxurious packaging and being a Premium Bandai, she's pretty standard like shf sailormoon which they originally cost $25-30. Thus buying her retail price at $83 would be too much for her standard... Like Figma and previous releases, Idolmaster's price tends to drop. Therefore, I kinda predict these line would also drop and I was right eventhough I bought second handed but, she's still good as new.

Akito: He finishes his meetings within an hour but by now he should be back…I can have Marise teleport you to my father’s quarters….
Marise heard Akito and immediately played his shamisen teleporting Usagi to the section that Kairo roams in specifically to his office/meeting room. She hears talking behind the two shoji doors which sounds like a man with another man but the tone of the other man’s voice sounds bossy.
???: So…Mr. Kizaki sent you….you’re Seiichi Kizaki…his kid……….Wait you’re too young to sm-
Seiichi: I’m 21, dipsh%t….plus…pops thought through the deal…Mr. Hiroyami…the deals off….
Suddenly guns clicking were heard.
Seiichi: Oh? Threatening the Kurozaki Yakuza? You’ve got guts….
Hiroyami: Kill him boys…huh? Why are you smirking?
Seiichi: Oh nothing~ Just that….you just made a big mistake messing with me…..and my family….
Suddenly Usagi heard gunshots as well as slashes and screaming as well as blood being spilled. The Shoji doors opened up revealing a headless body collapsing to the floor. She sees bodies and blood everywhere. The culprits revealed to be Seiichi along with seven other people who looked to be clones of him. Each one is a different color variation which are the different colors representing the poison that Seiichi can use. The orange variation is eating a leg as if it were from a chicken. Seiichi looks to be a carbon copy of Kairo but his eyes are plum red indicating anger.
Me: *blinks as I try to hold in the urge to squeal and hug you like a koala* *mumbles to myself* Resist the urge! You are here to do a family reunion. *sighs and then looks at you* Hey, Rui! I have a surprise for you! I think that you’ll be happy to see her, but Um. She is right now being difficult and is hanging out with her best friend who would love to meet you too.
In a forest
On a tree branch sat an 18 year old female demon with two pairs of arms. She wears a white short sleeved short kimono with spider web patterns on it with her white hair styled in a braid. Her feet looked similar to that of a spider’s leg with two hook shapes toes. Her eyes are blue with red sclera. She has a side swept hair bang covering her left eye. On another branch is another demon girl but she wears an outfit similar to the demon slayer uniform but the footwear are black boots along with a cap similar to a train conductor’s but has a curly ponytail coming out of it along with two lower ponytails which acts like mist/smoke. Her hair is pinkish magenta with turquoise streaks with golden yellow eyes.
The demon with the spider kimono is wearing a sad expression on her face.
*the little spider demon is surprised to find any of his family had survived the attack on their mountain that had taken most of them and had nearly taken him. He wasn't surprised to see a glum expression on the other spider demons face as he was the only one at the place he had come to call home, she probably thought he had a really bad tantrum and had ended them himself...but being a child he can't help but be excited that he wasn't alone anymore. He scurries over to the base of the tree before taking notice of the second girls outfit and hesitating* "hello..?"

Review: Human Lost
Tumblr media
Imagine a future where death has been conquered—any injury or disease can be healed through a government-run medical system, one that not only cares for its citizens’ physical well-being, but upon which the entirety of society is based. Yet, the vision of such a future isn’t fully secure, nor is it immune to favoritism, malfeasance, and a form of dangerous transformation, a mutation that one man will manipulate while another must control as he decides how to approach his own powers and the critical role he’ll play for the future of the world.
Human Lost, inspired (mostly superficially) by Osamu Dazai’s masterpiece, No Longer Human, is a film of staggering sci-fi vision. Set just a couple of decades into the future, Japan is now under the auspices of the S.H.E.L.L. healthcare system, to which all humans are connected, kept alive, and restored through remote nanotechnology when illness, injury, or death occurs. The best benefits of the system are enjoyed inside massive city walls; on the impoverished outside, Yozo Oba, a disaffected youth, joins a friend’s biker gang and the mysterious Masao as they make a high-risk effort to push their way through the boundary. However, their operation reveals that Oba has powers previously unknown and connected to the “civilization bringing curve,” a model that shows the current path of civilization. It is also divulged that Masao is an “applicant,” a human who wields tremendous power, which he plans to use to destroy both S.H.E.L.L. and society itself, which has forced its workers into 19-hours work days to pay for a pension system for an aging population, led by elders who want to live longest of all as they “stabilize” society. But most of all, Masao hates a system that forces people to stay alive—the exception being those that under duress transform into monstrous beings with destructive power and the unique ability to die.
There’s a strong philosophical narrative at work here that will be familiar to fans of sci-fi. The ground is laid early when one character remarks, “In order for humans to be human, we need death.” That philosophy and the opposite one are the motivating factors for most of the major characters in the film, but not for the protagonist, Oba. When he first appears on-screen, Oba isn’t even alive. His corpse, brought back to life through S.H.E.L.L. tech, is an apt analogy for his life to that point, one that feels meaningless, one where he’s trying to make a connection but to whom or what, Oba does not know. His own awakening during the wall assault conducted by his friend begins to drive him forward, though it’s the friendship he forms with Yoshiko, another “applicant” like Masao and himself, that gives him purpose.
Tumblr media
The direction of the film is as big as the narrative. There are some wonderful “shots” in the movie, with director Fuminori Kizaki makes careful choices throughout the film: close-ups are frequent, top-down shots dominate scenes conveying the grandness of inhuman monsters, and shaky-camera animation brings us into the action when necessary. The first act also has a wonderful aesthetic, one that has a touch of cyberpunk in it, with a chase sequence that feels like Mad Max meets Minority Report. In fact, those movies feel like strong influences on the movie, the latter being no surprise with executive director Katsuyuki Motohiro’s filmography including the Minority Report-influenced, Psycho-Pass. However, the energy spent in art direction seems to dwindle away in the last 2/3 of the film, maybe by design as the animators have so much story to tell, and such a complicated one, that it’s almost as if they don’t want the art to get in the way. But it does, with 3D animation that isn’t advanced enough to animate a film of this magnitude.
Tumblr media
While 3D animation has come a long way, it still struggles to attain the beauty and fluidity of more traditional work. Dark sequences marked by brilliant bits of light dominate Human Lost, but they can’t hide the failures in animation. The action sequences are flawed, but more troubling are the characters themselves. They look too much like they’ve walked out of a video game and not far enough from the uncanny valley effect from the first photorealistic animated film, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, developed some two decades prior. The faces, when not expressing any particular emotion, look really good, but as soon as they have to show anger or sadness, the facade is exposed. It becomes almost laughable when tears or sweat appear—they look like shooting stars streaking across the characters’ faces, not likely to incite the emotions the director wants us to feel. It’s a shame, too, because strong voice acting performances are wasted, both in the English dub (particularly from Macy Anne Johnson in playing Yoshiko, a challenging role as the moral center of the film, and Robert McCollum, who is making quite a career out of playing complex antagonists like Masao) and the original Japanese track—Mamoru Miyano is particularly expressive as Oba, but his voice seems at odds with the rubbery character animation; Kana Hanazawa fits better with Yoshiko, who is more even keel, but as her role grows more important and more emotional, the same problem occurs: the animation can’t properly convey her talent.
Tumblr media
But ultimately, it’s not poor CGI that ruins Human Lost—it’s a screenplay that’s too grand in scope for 100 minutes. There are two tales simultaneously occurring—Oba is transforming from a (literally) brain-dead painter with a traumatic family history to a man whose heart (literally) can change the world, joining with a mystery sci-fi tale about S.H.E.L.L., the Qualification Ceremony, and Masao’s background, as well as a mental game of Who is right? The latter story is overly complicated, and despite giving the audience some wonderful questions to chew on, is told in a way that’s like jumping from the first two episodes of Evangelion to the clap-happy final two episodes (this is effectively what happens in a movie that runs the same length as four anime episodes and is obviously influenced by the property). Meanwhile, there’s no subtlety in the character development. We’re meant to see Masao as at once a frightening figure and one who may not be entirely wrong, but he comes across only as a crazed maniac since it’s difficult to comprehend why the system is so evil that it requires an entire “Human Instrumentality Project”-level reprogramming, as he intends. Oba, meanwhile, is wasted even further—nothing he does feels remotely human. He moves quickly from one world-altering decision to another, and while we understand why he might get to these places, the screenplay hasn’t earned his sudden changes nor his heroic growth. Lines like “I was always jealous of you” may work to help develop character in normal settings, but not when the speaker has only known the other character for two days.
The disconnected screenplay and inadequate animation veer what could be a great film off course, leading to a disappointing result. The good elements prevent Human Lost from being a truly bad film, but with it so chock-full of information that never quite connects, the end result might even worse: a film that’s forgettable. A movie lost.
Rating: C-
Human Lost’s limited theatrical release is this week, with showings today (subtitled) and Wednesday (dubbed) in the U.S. and November 6th and 9th in Canada. Visit the official website for theatrical locations and more information.

Kilan (Kil) Kizaki - ex-assassin boxer
23, Gemini, Bisexual
Himbo, Goofball, Gloomy, Active (trait discovery: family-oriented)
Aspiration: Unconventional Millionaire
“Am I asking for too much?”
Tumblr media
From a young age Kil was taught to follow in his fathers footsteps just as every Kizaki boy is. Kizaki’s never questioned their fathers, generation after generation. The name Kizaki itself was infamous in the town he grew up in, the locals knew better than to get themselves involved. Although their family’s unscrupulous dealings were well known, no one would dare challenge them. Kil was taught to question nothing, to get his jobs done and collect the payment just as a Kizaki should. However as he grew and he saw how people feared him he began to question his family’s morality. The weight of his family’s legacy weighs heavy on his shoulders and he tries to atone for sins he did not knowingly commit. Despite this, Kil has an extremely energetic personality (at least when he’s around others), he tries to make the people he cares about happy…it’s the least he can do after all.
Kil, the middle child of the family, grew up training in combat from a young age. After his sister, Lace, ran away and moved to San Myshuno, Kil followed in her footsteps. To support himself, Kil turned to the underground boxing industry, earning his keep in the city's seedy underbelly. His close relationship with his oldest sister, Lace, is something that he holds onto as he struggles in the demanding environment of the city.
After Kil fled his oppressive family, he found solace in the city, but his problems didn't go away. Kil is expected to pass down the family tradition to his children, to his parents it is vital for him to come back home. His mother regularly calls him to manipulate him into coming back, and when she doesn't get her way, she throws a tantrum that affects the rest of the family. In an attempt to bring him back, his father sends his older brother Jade, to retrieve Kil and to convince him to come home. Kil struggles to resist the manipulative hold his brother has over him due to being conditioned to fear disappointing him. While Kil struggles to find normalcy in the city, he is torn between his desire to live his own life and his fear of disappointing Jade all the while dealing with the guilt of his family’s wrongdoings.
(Him in CAS vs. him in the game is so funny to me bc he looks so serious in CAS and then this is him in the game 24/7)

God of Stars//Éclair Brillant review, Hoshigumi, 2019
Tumblr media
I may not have a real summer vacation from work, but my schedule allowed me to take a break this weekend to go down to Takarazuka to catch some of the first/second week of Hoshigumi’s God of Stars and Éclair Brillant!
(I WILL be seeing this show more in Tokyo and I will probably/maybe be able to refine these thoughts by the time it ends there, but let’s start off with first impressions, shall we? ♡)
First thing’s first, I love Hoshigumi. That’s not a secret. It’s not that I think they can Do No Wrong it’s just that I love them even when they Do Wrong. Thankfully, this is a case where I truly BELIEVE they did no wrong. Both the show and the revue were well suited to Hoshigumi and their cast of characters, and well suited to Kurenai Yuzuru and Kisaki Airi, the retiring top stars, as well.
God of Stars
Ooh BOY. Whatever you expected when you saw this poster,  multiply that by about a thousand and you’ll maybe be a little closer to right. The English language website has released this plot blurb - feel free to read for some context, if you want!
Tl; dr-  It’s kind of about the dangers of gentrification, it’s kind of about two idol groups vying to rise to the top, it’s kind of about loving someone despite their flaws, it’s kind of about being loved as you are, and it’s kind of about Iron Chef. It’s zany and it’s FUN and the music (some of which is by famed anime and other-things composer Hyadain) is catchy and memorable. (I have seriously had the main theme and one of the big group numbers stuck in my head all week.) I would call this the most anime play I have ever seen, and I’ve seen anime plays. I would also compare it to Om Shanti Om, if you’ve seen that. There are STACKS AND STACKS of references to new media, actual people, mythology, popular culture, and the actresses themselves (half of their characters are plays on their names, if they’re not playing someone real, like Chow Yun-fat, literally the lead actor from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.)
Tumblr media
If you’re generally a fan of comedies, slapstick, BIG group numbers, anime plays, or things that don’t take themselves too seriously, you’ll love it. It’s just pure fun.  It’s light. It’s loving. It’s energetic. It’s happy. It’s Hoshigumi. There are a few very touching scenes between characters - one in particular between Hong (Kurenai Yuzuru) and Lee (Rei Makoto), made someone within earshot of me cry every time I saw it. For me personally, this show REALLY shone in the group scenes- I never knew quite where to look (not because the main action wasn’t engaging, just because WHEREVER you looked in the group scenes, someone was making a specific, motivated, and usually HILARIOUS character choice), and I sincerely wish I could have a star angle of every actress in every big scene.  So, let’s talk about some of these actresses!
Kurenai Yuzuru plays Hong Xing -Xing, the chef. He’s an asshole. He has a heart of gold underneath it all, but spends the majority of the play having that bit of him excavated. Again, if you’ve seen Om Shanti Om, think act II Om. I loved it. Beni does shine at this kind of thing, playing loveable assholes. The music ROCKED for her, the over the top RIDICULOUSNESS of this show is where she shines the brightest. She worked with everyone around her to create great moments for some little characters and lent her comedic timing to the whole troupe, it seemed like. I missed the depth that her role in Elbe allowed her to show, and the stillness and emotional intent she’s so heartachingly beautiful at was missing here, but that’s the show’s fault, not hers. I loved this as a taidan role. I’ll miss Beni. I can’t wait to see how her and Hong have grown by Tokyo.
Kisaki Airi as Eileen Chow particularly kicked ass (figuratively and literally, with slipper kung-fu.) She DEFINITELY wasn’t shafted here (hooray!!) with two solos in her wheelhouse and honestly, I feel, a stronger character than Beni even got. She was spunky and sassy and she looked so damn GOOD in all her costumes. Nothing but respect for MY anime heroine, Eileen Chow.
Hanagata Hikaru from Senka played Eric Yang of the Golden Star Group, a straight man to everyone else’s completely whack roles, unfortunately a little unremarkable (she’s so comedically GIFTED, but this role was strictly there to advance the plot.) Rei Makoto, the-soon-to-be-top star, was sweet as Lee Long Long  Dragon, Hong’s rival. He’s the classic trope of complete nerd-turned- absolute hottie, when he meets his idol (and literal idol) Christina Chang (Maisora Hitomi, next top musumeyaku). Some of the most universally appreciated humor in this show came from Lee being absolutely FLUSTERED by Christina- and it was really NICE to see these two play together as a couple. They have some SWEET SWEET moments, particularly with their scene together at the end of the play. The seeds of good chemistry are there, and they have the potential to sound really great together. I really hope they don’t sacrifice humor and personality in the long run for pure skill, but I’m optimistic. ♡)
Yumeki Anru as Kitty, Hong’s Kind Of Girlfriend (and later Chow Yun Fat’s arm candy) was a COMPLETELY INCREDIBLE, SEXY, Sailor Moon Villain-esque nuisance- also may or may not have been directly lifted from Crazy Rich Asians.
The boy band, Paradise Prince, made up of Kiwami Shin, Amato Kanon, Amahana Ema, Amaki Homare, leader Seo Yuria, and long suffering (but LOVING and mature and full of her own life and opinions and things to Get Done- my only complaint is I wish they let her sing more) manager Arisa Hitomi were a COMPLETE delight. If I could give them the small group ensemble award for just the sheer bullshit they were CONSTANTLY giving us, God I would.  If you didn’t know where to look in God of Stars and you defaulted to them, you’d NEVER be disappointed. From choreographing small routines on the side of the stage to taking selfies and making Tik Toks, they were 100% on all the time. (Also, sounded vocally great and looked great dancing, technical skill wise. I would honestly buy this group as a boy band. Let me know when they release their first single. I’ll buy 10.) (Distinguished performance award goes to Amato Kanon, who is Ken 3 but has the raw power of six upperclassman otokoyaku combined, and is going to be absolutely UNSTOPPABLE in a few years once she learns how to refine ALL THAT.) Kozakura Honoka, Sakuraba Mai, Mizuno Yuri, Seira Hitomi, and leader Maisora Hitomi, make up the girl group, Eclipse, who are used more for transitions and set dressing (albiet FUN set dressing), than plot devices of their own. (Sorry girls, the boys win this idol group battle.)
Kisaragi Ren (Ren), Mao Yuuki (Mao), Miki Chigusa (Lao Hu), Kizaki Reo (Leo) (see what I’m saying about character names....?), and Shizuki Otone (Michelle) are the working class, good people from Eileen’s life who have stakes in the food hawker stalls, and GOD, they, along with the boy band and the underclassmen ensemble characters, really bring the story to life. Every one of them makes a specific character and sticks to it with care and love and humor and stakes and it’s clear and it’s big and it is, in my opinion, so Hoshigumi. (Also, the roles weren’t huge, but these were still nice for Mao Yuuki and Kisaragi Ren’s last roles in Takarazuka. They were usually together and always funny and got to be in PLENTY of the show, which is all we can ask for.)
Tenju Mitsuki and Otoha Minori both got to flex their acting chops as Eileen’s parents. Even if I am a little sad that the two of them are now officially playing parents, they ARE old enough that that shouldn’t really be surprising. Tenju Mitsuki especially got to be funny, and Otoha Minori got to be loving and maternal, and I feel that both really milked their roles for all they could. Also, for PARENT ROLES, they were hardly shafted, so I’ll count my blessings now.
Natori Rei, Mari Yuzumi, Hiroka Yuu, and Sazanami Reira as Demon Bull King, Princess Iron Fan, and The Bodhisattva Candraprabha and Suryaprabha respectively (y’all PLEASE look these characters up I am BEGGING you) were Beni’s family (see the show before you decide whether I’m speaking figuratively or literally) and while the show could have happened without that side plot and only a few tweaks, were a really lovely and worldly addition to the cast. It was FUN to see the Gods and People Of Legends giving context to the story and the other characters, and even more fun to see normal people interacting with them at the end of the play.
As the newswoman and MC Vimmy, Shirotae Natsu was LITERALLY playing her character from Om Shanti Om, and was just as delightful now as she was then (and one of the times I saw the show, worked INCREDIBLY seamlessly and quickly with Beni to fix a mic issue that could have made a whole scene fruitless.) Iroha Reo was Shirotae Natsu’s assistant MC, and Shidou Ryuu was the producer, both in small but still lovingly crafted roles. Haruto Yuuho’s incredible voice was completely wasted as the silent role of cameraman, but she looked cute as hell in a beanie and glasses. Murasaki Rira as Madam Yang was an absolute joy in the back (or front) of every Golden Star Group scene, playing a little batty and a little flirty and a little spacey and a lot wild and fun. Yuunagi Ryou as Chow Yun Fat, actual Real Life Actor (and for the purposes of this play, the deciding judge of the cooking competition,) was a lot of fun if you love looking at the complete storylines people can come up with in the back of scenes, and your kind of character if you’re into the whole bad boy but also kung fu actor guy thing. Toudou Jun (Sheik Jahuli), Asamizu Ryou (Monsieur Lobchamp), and Minato Rihi (Michiba Juusaburou, NOT to be confused with Actual Iron Chef Michiba Rokusaburou) were the other chefs featured by the Golden Star Group, and MAN, they were all funny.  Toudou Jun had a particularly fleshed out take on her character, more naan jokes than I can count, and a surprising amount of heart in the group scenes with Eileen and co. Ooki Makoto as the priest had one of the best lines in the show, correcting Hong’s reading of a sign, and Otosaki Itsuki, while onstage very little, got a KILLER solo as the dragon boat singer at the start of the Singapore scene mid-show.
If you get a chance, I really recommend you see this show in person. It is a lovingly crafted, well performed, slapstick ride in an Iron Chef meets Cutthroat Kitchen vehicle. It ends with rainbow gyoza and a RAP battle, y’all. The LIFE of it is so shockingly full force in the theatre, as is the volume and the humor and the love that I think endears Hoshigumi to its fans. God of Stars is worth a watch- and even if it ends up not for you, at least you’ll be able to see you saw Naan used as a weapon in a stage fight. ♡

Éclair Brillant,
(which I learned TODAY is not called ‘Éclair Brilliant’). Is, well, Brilliant. While I wouldn't call this the best Benigumi revue in my eyes, (it's no Killer Rouge, and I am PARTICULAR to Estrellas as fair as Hoshigumi Energy goes), the fact is, everyone has different taste, and besides that, Éclair Brillant is BEYOND good. Here's a quick number by number breakdown (as it goes in my memory.) The opening is CLASSY and CLASSIC. It actually is NOT AT ALL unlike the opening to Bouquet De Takarazuka, but it's silver, not beige. The choreography and music both have moments that DEFINITELY struck me with deja vu. Something interesting is that this revue DOES NOT have a title screen/sign/marquee. I am not SURE why that is. In its place, the music starts (a low hum, very space-y), and the theatre slowly fades to complete darkness, before Kurenai Yuzuru (Beni) is illuminated from the back, the light shining through her gauzy, spacey, alien costume in a VERY cool way that made the audience all ooh and ahh, then the lights come up on her face and we begin. The theme is SWEET. Beni sounds INCREDIBLE in this part of her vocal range. Then, enter the rest of the troupe, Rei Makoto (Coto) gets her solo, Seo Yuria (Seo) and Hanagata Hikaru get time on the bridge, Kisaki Airi (Airi) gets her solo. It's all structurally sound, predictable, and good. This opening is the only place in the revue with a kyakusekiori (actresses in the aisles.)
The opening ends, and Beni is left on the bridge for a solo number. It's playful and uptempo and and not stylistically unlike Leaning on a Lamppost from Me and My Girl, only a little more introspective and slower. She sits on the stairs to the audience for part of it and really focuses on just singing and acting and being present and it's lovely.
From there, the curtain rises on a very pastoral, calm, almost blank stage, save for a tree, a couple outdoor tables, some underclassmen playing couples and waiters and waitresses, and Maisora Hitomi with a hat. You can tell this is going to be a dance scene immediately, and it is. (Side note: The underclassmen in this scene ROCK. They have a lot of moments of complete stillness and freezes into very fluid natural movement, and they all maintain their storylines and relations throughout. It's nice to see.) Anyway, Maisora is minding her own business and then a sudden gust of WIND blows through the beautiful scene, her hat is whisked away offstage, she briefly chases after it and then ah, gives up. She goes back to her table presumably to like continue having a normal day and mourn the loss of her hat but surprise, there is the personification of the wind itself (Coto) sitting on her table like a little wind nymph. They dance. It's beautiful. I'd say more but that's all there is to say- they dance and it IS beautiful. I think right now dance is looking like it's going to be their strength because boy, they move REAL WELL together. They're both pretty top tier dancers, and it's cool to see them move so naturally together despite having just met. Maisora also VOCALLY sounds better in this number than she did in God of Stars, in my opinion- it's a pretty, lilting slow tune that she definitely sounds good on. The dance ends with an attempted kiss and some falling feathers, and suddenly, all the people from the scene come running back on, breaking the fantasy (with the hat! They found the hat!), and Maisora ultimately runs back off with them after a pensive glance out, as if wondering if the Wind Spirit who visited her Will Ever Return. Then Coto sings some more. It’s predictably beautiful.
Cumbanchero (the start of the chuuzume, despite being only three songs into the revue) is one of my very favorite numbers in the revue, probably because I have a big ol’ Takarazuka Crush on one of the dancers, but also because it’s just really high energy and it’s danced so WELL. It starts ABRUPTLY and features Kurenai Yuzuru, Mao Yuuki, Shidou Ryuu, Kizaki Reo, Sazanami Reira, Hiroka Yuu, Yuunagi Ryou, Minato Rihi, and Amato Kanon. Man, they can all DANCE. If Coto’s Hoshigumi features these actresses in dance numbers, they’re gonna look GOOD. It’s a nice reprieve from the so far calm and pretty revue and starts to take things over to the sexier/bolder/more sensual Latin-inspired side, where a lot of the rest of the revue sits, musically. (Though like, Takarazuka “Latin” is what it is and we all know that.) Airi gets a turn in the spotlight next, singing a song I WISH I knew the title of, with either a long curly blonde wig or a short brown bob  depending on the show while Ooki Makoto and Kisaragi Ren (hell yeah) get fawned over/pawed at/pushed around by musumeyaku. It’s sensual. Also sensual (but leaning much more towards playful and flirty) is The Next Number In The Chuuzume, sung by Amahana Ema, Kiwami Shin, and Arisa Hitomi. Arisa Hitomi SPECIFICALLY sounds mature and sexy and GOOD and everything a musumeyaku learns to be when you give her a chance to grow up. Some of the kids do coupley samba around them. They’re VERY cute.  The stage goes dark and Beni, Airi, and Coto appear- they dance around each other and with each other in every combination possible while Mikkii sings on the stairs- and God, I could talk for ages about how much I love when they let Mikkii sing for duet/trio dances. She brings out all the emotion in the songs and gives the dancers so much space to play in. The END OF THE CHUUZUME is set to The Gift (by Eydie Gorme). It’s too short. The music rocks. It’s all samba stepping and teasing grinning and I loooooved it. Otherwise though, it was a very standard chuuzume. (One of my ONLY complaints about this revue is that I DO wish they took the chance to do something a little more BeniAiri. Anyone can do a Nice Chuuzume. These two have such play and humor in them, and I would have loved to see something more like Championne from Estrellas as their last chuuzume. It was still VERY solid and very good, but lacking in personalization.)
Tumblr media
After the chuuzume, Seo comes on surrounded by eight musumeyaku (Seira Hitomi, Mizuno Yuri, Nijou Hana, Kuresaki Rino, Miyako Yuuna, Sumika Amane, Ruri Hanaka, and Ayane Miran. You didn’t expect Seo Yuria to sing Mas Que Nada with the dirtiest bass line I have ever heard, but here she is, singing it (well!). Seo sings across the bridge and it feels filthy somehow and I have NO idea what to do with it. Everyone in this number is trying to ooze sex appeal out of every pore in their body. Some of them ARE succeeding. This number makes me more uncomfortable than excited, but I think your mileage may vary here.
Ravel’s Bolero is the best number in Éclair Brilliant, and may be one of the best numbers in any revue ever. It’s very long, but I don’t think it’s long ENOUGH. There is NO singing. There is no sound from the actresses save for stepping and clapping and the occasional stomp.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are two pictures from the number but they don’t even BEGIN to do it justice. I am PRAYING the DVD captures it, but the real magic in this number is how groups of dancers use the stage, how they line up SHARPLY and PERFECTLY in place, how they move on and off the stage with incredible fluidity but INTENSE movements, how groups move in sync or against each other, the lighting being low and shadowy- this number was perfect. I am a HUGE sucker for loud flashy funny in your face- and this sharp, understated, stripped down dance number could have brought me to tears. This was one of the most incredible things I have ever seen in any Takarazuka show, and deserves a spot in ANY Best Of list that’s ever compiled from here on out.
It’s hard to top Bolero, so for a tonal shift, next we have our Taidan Number/Rockette. And honestly? It’s well timed. The taidan medley is Hanagata Hikaru (not retiring), Shirotae Natsu and Yumeki Anru (ALSO not retiring), and our incredible, wonderful, brilliant taidansha, Kisaragi Ren and Mao Yuuki, singing Frank Sinatra’s That’s Life. It’s full of heart and earnesty and smiles and it’s honest and fun and these people on this stage love each other, and they love what they do, and it’s so EASY to see. Renta dances and sings with the same 200% she always gives, and Mao Yuuki takes in everything and everyone around her every time I see her do this number. It’s gonna be BRUTAL on the last day. The four upperclassmen join the rockettes for the first part of their dance (which is CUTE), and then run off to let the girls do their thing.
The rockettes end and a new set of feathers takes the stage- Beni, Airi, Maisora Hitomi, Kiwami Shin, Arisa Hitomi, and Amahana Ema in a slinky, sequined leotard bird of paradise number (Beni has some notes in this song that give me CHILLS in the best way)- and they’re eventually shoo’d off by Coto, Amato Kanon, Aomi Sario, Sakishiro Kei, and Kisa Kaoru, in MORE exciting bird-of-paradise costumes, and a more upbeat and aggressive and slinkier dance. (It was COOL to see Kisa Kaoru and Sakishiro Kei included in here- I don’t feel like I’ve really seen them do anything to date, and they’re both solid! Aomi Sario is familiar and Amato Kanon is climbing the ladder quick.)
The next number is nothing short of beautiful. It’s a Beni dance solo (again, no singing at all- the ending of Éclair is a little sparse on vocals), until she is joined by most of the Hoshigumi musumeyaku, all in flowy pink petals, with an electric shamisen. It was VERY falling-sakura-esque. It was STUNNING. They fall and they scatter and they twirl and Beni is in the midst of it all, and by the end of the song...
Tumblr media
-the petals have all fallen and we are in place for one of my favorite kuroenbi ever. In fact, the whole rest of this revue is beautiful. This kuroenbi is more electric shamisen, a lot of high kicks, a lot of sharp and bold movement and interesting lines and groups of younger actresses and groups of older actresses taking turns centerstage and (a beautifully funny moment between Beni, Renta, and Mao Yuuki that IS a tonal shift for a brief few seconds, but doesn’t interrupt the flow of the dance at all, and is just so ... heartwarming to see. It’s lovely to see the taidansha honored in a way that’s so purely them.)
All the otokoyaku save for seven (Rei Makoto, Hanagata Hikaru, Mao Yuuki, Seo Yuria, Shidou Ryuu, Amahana Ema, and Kiwami Shin) exit the stage, and Airi enters. Coto sings a beautiful song to Airi as Airi gets to dance with all her otokoyaku in turn, it’s also playful and flirty and loving and Mao lifts her and spins her SO well- the dance only ends at its climax when Beni runs onstage from behind Airi and catches her- Airi has found her real partner and the duet dance begins in earnest with just the two of them. It is, as you’d want for the two of them, very sweet, very loving, very kind, and very much just two people who love each other and have gotten to know each other so well.
Tumblr media
It suits them, and their smiles and the amount of HUGGING in this dance is exactly what they deserve. It’s a good taidan duet dance. It’s a good Beni/Airi taidan duet dance.
Overall, I think Éclair was very good. It honored a lot of what has made Beni and Airi’s Hoshigumi what it was, in the little moments, but didn’t drown itself in kitsch. That said, I might have liked to see a LITTLE more of their personalities in the revue- I can almost say it felt like Éclair was ushering in Coto’s new era of Hoshigumi a little early and a little rushed. This would have been a BRILLIANT mid-top-run revue for this pair, because GOD did it show that they’re capable of more than the humor and energy that they’re too often pinholed into by Takarazuka fans in general. That is without a doubt their wheelhouse, but both Kurenai Yuzuru and Kisaki Airi are a LOT more than funny. It was incredible to see so much of that in a revue, because while we’ve seen it in plays, they haven’t really had a revue that feels this classic (to me), to date. It was a good revue to pair with God of Stars, though, because the full three hours gave you little bites (haha) of the incredible range that both these actresses have.
I loved God of Stars and Éclair Brillant. I loved them as a pair. I love Kurenai Yuzuru and Kisaki Airi as a pair. I love Hoshigumi for everything they are and everything every actress brings to the table, and I can not wait to see how this show and the actresses have grown by the time it reaches Tokyo. ♡

Akebi-chan no Sailor Fuku - Recenze

Our Palette Is Full of You || Mugen & Katashi || MM Trial 6.2.2 || re: broMManced
Mugen had told Akaji to get away from him as their high school days were coming to an end...before they all graduated, he wanted to graduate alone. Katashi had broken his heart and he in turn lashed out at Akaji because he knew he didn’t deserve that good in his life. To be alone, he wanted to destroy all he held dear that last month…
Mugen’s breath felt completely stopped up, he reached hastily for Katashi’s hand again to ground himself into the reality that his brain was so vehemently denying. Complete rejection of a reality that he refused to accept had a possibility of existing.
When they met again...he looked just as Mugen had remembered...like not even a day had passed. With that meeting was the feeling of pure shame flowing through his body, the memories of how he destroyed his relationship with Akaji so vivid in his mind still. He just wanted to be his friend again. Mugen had missed his friend...he couldn’t be happier than to be able to go to parties with him, try his best to study with him, to feel that joy of friendship that he felt back in high school again…
Akaji disappeared though...it was because his grandpa died but...that wasn’t all of it...Akaji died...and Mugen never knew...he just saw him again one day when he walked into Ignition Point years later...Akaji was right there. He was fine. He never knew that Akaji had died!!
He squeezes Katashi’s hand ever so tighter…
Mugen...had never known the things that Akaji never told him...but it wasn’t like he wasn’t keeping secrets himself...secrets that Akaji had found out by accident anyway. A night on the patrol and he leaped from the building down right into someone’s skull. To defend the weak...to protect those that can’t protect themselves, that night Mega Super Ranger Red sprang into action. He didn’t know who he was saving till it was all over, he turned his head and...it was Akaji…
He felt closer to him...Akaji knew his secret but Mugen still didn’t know his...he didn’t know...the years continued to pass and Mugen’s life only deteriorated more and more...falling apart at the seams as every single hope he had for the future crumbled in his hands...being able to break away from the Kizaki family...being able to be together with Katashi...so many impossibilities flashed in Mugen’s eyes and disappeared...in those times...those times of need...Akaji offered an ear…
He listened...he always listened...every time that Mugen cried...every time Mugen wished he could change the past...could change himself...could change the world...Akaji was there...and Akaji listened…silently...without Akaji...Mugen never would’ve taken his first step into the life he dreamed...
So why..why...even after telling him every dark secret...after exposing his entire heart to Akaji...why…
Mugen gritted his teeth...and his eyes welled up with tears…
The crippling loneliness they both felt, that they knew belonged to their friend: the existential dread, the feeling, no, the fact that you just knew no one was coming to get you...
Because they didn't know...
(Katashi reminisces too, that Akaji would just turn up to work like usual, and they'd bicker like nothing happened.)
they didn't know you were gone...
(A break-up would happen, and Akaji would've been invited to live with him, like nothing happened.)
they forgot, they forgot you exist, just for a second...
(They lived together like nothing happened. Akaji would just be there like nothing happened.)
Shouldering a weight. Like nothing ever happened.
He thought nothing had happened. He was sure that nothing had happened. One day he'd be scolding Akaji about his homework, telling him that he only wanted the best for him, yet refusing to admit he cared. On another, years later, he would be fretting and worrying anxiously on how Akaji was doing without him, to the point of searching for him and pinning him down just to give him a job. The trio, consisting of red, yellow and blue, would have gotten back together. Like nothing happened.
Katashi would be going to sleep, and he'd assume Akaji was fast asleep as well. The moment they had when they both realized they enjoyed each other's presence after years upon years assuming they couldn't stand each other-- Katashi thought he'd sealed the bag then. He would come home late at night from crime fighting-- he was a hero after all, someone whose job was saving those in trouble, in distress, and in need, and Akaji would still be awake sometimes, and Katashi always assumed he was fine staying home alone. Potential this, you matter that, he was supposed to be protecting people like him goddamnit and yet he didn't even notice a damn thing...
Yet, still, his face struggles to emote, but his heart is aching. And he feels like he should be doing something more than just stand there, but he doesn't. Why?
Because he knew, of course. Back when he recalled every past trial, he knew. 'You never told me you were jumped and saved, and you lived with your dad before I picked you up.' He was the only one who fit, and expecting the worst was something he was good at. And expect he did, but... did it lessen the blow at all?
He couldn't tell. He couldn't even be mad-- not at the one thing you'd expect someone to be mad at, anyway. Even among all the shock, the shock that Akaji had even done this, he knew Akaji was right: it was a fact that if anyone here were in his shoes, save for some exceptions--
"--it was written as notes, as success rates... that anyone would've done so--"
(as he believed himself to be Candidate 20, who had a 80% success rate, so who was he to speak,)
and this entire time, Katashi hadn't realized he was speaking everything he was thinking until now. And while he couldn't quite place his anger on him simply trying to keep himself tangible,
(But it was happening. And it kept happening, and it kept happening, and he'd just say nothing--)
Mugen and Katashi...their thoughts in perfect sync...speaking to each other through the link that they didn’t even need to share this thought with each other...this thought that they wished to communicate to the one they loved.
It doesn’t matter what you tell us, you are still you.
But those words don't leave their mouths…
Tumblr media
“”WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL US!?””
That was the epicenter of their rage.
Not that he did this.
Not that he tricked them all.
It was simply...that he didn’t divulge his heart to his best friends.
Tumblr media
“How many nights did you spend listening to me whine and complain on that bar counter!? Drunk off my ass and wanting any kinda comfort!! How many fucking things did I tell you, Akaji!? I wanted freedom from my family!! I wanted to be with Katashi!! I...I was just doing fucking jackshit about my problems!! How many times did we have those back and forths, Akaji!? How many fucking times did I make you listen to me while you were standing there in silence and not saying a damn thing about how you were feeling inside!?”
There was an overwhelming guilt boiling and threatening to spill from Mugen’s body. It was the guilt that comes from looking into the eyes of someone you love and being unable to recognize that there is a shadow behind them. Mugen had thought he was so perceptive of what his friends felt and yet he missed it. For so so so many years he looked into his eyes and failed to see Akaji’s heart....
And then there was Katashi, who thought he was just as attentive, but what sort of friend doesn’t even notice his friend is suffering? But, he wasn’t a mind reader either. What came with friendship was communication, and he had thought they’d gotten better at that years ago. Was it fair to feel hurt over this? Well, did Katashi care about fairness? Not quite. He was still hurt, and so,
Tumblr media
"Fine, I was an asshole to you! I admit But fuck, I-- I still cared so much about you, okay?! I don't know why, but just-- do you even know how strong the anxiety I felt was when I didn’t know how you were doing or where you were?! I seeked you out for a reason! I cared for you and missed you and wanted to keep supporting you goddamnit, And I-- I can't do that if you don't fucking let me! I wanted to do so much for you and I still do, and yet I couldn't... b-because, you didn't...! I... just wanted to be your friend!! I wanted to finally fucking act like one to you!! And I thought we could trust each other, that I can help you, that we can help you, but you just let yourself fucking suffer?! For what?! For fucking what?! You didn't have to be goddamn alone, you fucking IDIOT!!!"
It was so foreign-- for someone who embraced all negativity: grudges, hatred, looking down upon humanity for being so dirty, yet this intense and strong anger felt so foreign and unfamiliar as it continued to eat away at his chest, the heat of it all engulfing him into a flame of overwhelming emotion. Katashi thought he was becoming better... better at opening up and helping those he loved, rather than staying closed off. It was like what Kazu had told him, and he believed it, but what can he do now, now that it was too late?
Tumblr media
“This is just such bullshit!! You could’ve told us!! No matter how fucking crazy it was!! Do you really really think that we wouldn’t have listened to you!? It’d...it would’ve sounded so fucking ridiculous but we would’ve listened to your worries and problems!! I...We would’ve tried to help you!!! You didn’t have to suffer alone with your mouth shut all these years, Akaji!!”
Tumblr media
"What even was the point of lying that you've been fine all this time when you weren't?! Can you even fucking HEAR us right now? Do you THINK Mugen and I would've cared how crazy you sounded? Do you THINK we would’ve been stopped even if you told us there was nothing we could've done?! We fucking love you! We love you so goddamn much, Akaji! We still would've tried, goddammit... I know we would... I just wanted to be better to you, but I... I'm not sure if I…”
“I know I kept telling you that you had potential, Akaji... but not... not like this... it didn't have to be used like this... why couldn't you just let us help...? Why?! We killed each other for you, for fuck's sake! For your safety! And you-- You fucking--"
Mugen would’ve held his hand out to Akaji...he would’ve grasped it tightly...no there is no would’ve here...Mugen will reach out a hand of love to Akaji...only it is going to come in the form of a fist before anything else.
Tumblr media
“Goddammit, Akaji!! I’m gonna kick your fucking ass you stupid idiot!!!”
And along with Mugen's fist comes Katashi's hand after, finger pointed at him with vindication, with his brows still knotted in rage.
Tumblr media
"We'll beat you up until it's unforgettable, you fucking got that?! Then you’re coming back home with us!"

92nd Class Ties!
This round-robin style talk with all the 92nd class members was published in the October 2017 issue of GRAPH, as part of a series on the more senior classes (those who have been in the company 10 years of more).
There are too many people to tag effectively, so the participants are: Chinami Karan, Shouno Chio, Ayanagi Shou, Kizaki Reo, Tenma Michiru, Matsukaze Akira, Shizuki Otone, Takasumi Hayato, Rinjou Kira, Houzuki An, Marika Yume, Makaze Suzuho,  Seki Yurito, and Mana Haruto.
92nd Class Ties!
After pulling a classmate's name out of the box, they have to express her appealing points with 3 keywords!
START!
Chinami Karan, Moon Troupe
"Who will I get~ Who will I get~ (singing) Everyone's so unique that I'll have plenty to say no matter whose name I get~"
About Shouno Chio...
The 92nd class' pride as a dancer I was really startled to see her dance when we first got into TMS! She could put her leg so high and extend her feet so beautifully, and with a perfectly calm face she would spin 5 times! 6 times! 7 times at once! Just going round and round, so I would end up thinking 'are her legs going to be okay?' (laughs)
Overflowing knowledge, floods of conversation If you ask her one thing, she'll reply with 10 times that, with such rapid-fire talk that it's impossible even to get in acknowledgement that you're still paying attention. She knows a lot about history and manga, and not by half-measures either - she'll explain from A to Z, so just listening I'll end up with more than I can digest (laughs). But sometimes by the time I notice it she'll be on a totally different topic (laughs)
Difference between adorable appearance and reality In contrast to her cute face, her natural voice is surprisingly low (laughs). Also, she knows a lot and her handwriting is very pretty so it seems like she'd be able to do anything skillfully but...she's unexpectedly bad with her fingers. When she was a yokasei she couldn't even braid her hair properly!
Shouno Chio
“No~ I've never done 7 spins! (laughs) As for having a lot of knowledge...If I realize there's something I don't know I'm the type who just has to go and research it. So that's resulted in me being like this (laughs). It's true, I'm bad with my fingers even now. Despite that I'm fussy doing my hair and take ages on it, although sometimes it just turns into a mess halfway through (laughs).”
About Ayanagi Shou...
Inexhaustible Kansai dialect Despite her face, she speaks Kansai dialect, and once she gets started she won't stop (laughs). What was really funny was in the shinjin kouen of Romeo et Juliette, where she played Mercutio. In one rehearsal, she yelled 'Yo, c'mon~!' at Tybalt (Rinjou Kira). Full Kansai dialect (laughs). I feel like she'd probably go into it any time she got excited enough.
Surprisingly, an uncle type Though she's as beautiful as a Johnny's band member, she's an uncle inside (laughs). Recently she was really taken with Chapi-chan (Manaki) and kept saying 'Cute~ She's so cute~' She was delighted just to pass next to her, so basically she's just an ordinary fan.
Wants to be spoiled She's always been like that. But it varies depending on who she's dealing with - towards our retired classmate, Yukie (Toumi Sarasa) she would put on a really manly air and be like 'Say Yukie, won't you _____? *sparkle*' but towards Momo-chan (Momohana Hina) she'll go over like 'Momo-chaaan~', acting like a younger sibling (laughs). Momo-chan would often get cross with her and be like 'Be a man towards me too!' (laughs)
Ayanagi Shou, Snow Troupe
“Mercutio! (laughs) Reika (Rinjou) was shocked at that too (laughs). It's true, I really love Chapi-chan. I respect her! Momo-chan has felt like a younger sister ever since before I entered TMS. I'm rather the 'baby of the family' among my classmates, but Yukie was even more so than me (laughs).”
About Kizaki Reo...
Caring elder sister She is really dextrous with her fingers, and in TMS she would do everyone's hair for them, and teach makeup basics... She did so much for me! Though I've likely forgotten everything I learned from her (laughs). There's no doubt that onstage, she's a man! (laughs) But she used to be surprisingly girly, so in my head she's not an 'older brother' but an 'older sister'.
Full-bodied voice Powerful, I guess, or 'hefty'? (laughs). She has a really wonderful voice that she knows how to control, and has a lot of singing power too - I love it. She's always held her own distinct viewpoints, so I think that must help her get things across on stage; no wavering, just very straightforward.
Laughs loudly and often She laughs with a really open feeling, 'Gahahahaha!' and since she laughs from the belly it's really loud (laughs). And that leads other people to where she is... (laughs) When we were yokasei, she would laugh really loudly even in situations where we weren't supposed to laugh at all, and then we'd get caught up in it too (laughs). Even now when I end up chatting to her in a corridor, hearing that big laugh makes me really nostalgic.
Kizaki Reo, Star Troupe
“Eh! Caring? ...I guess I did do that a lot. I forgot all about that (laughs). Since joining the company I've been paying attention to my voice and working on it, so to hear you say that makes me so happy~! Well, I do still laugh pretty loud, but I've managed to learn to hold it in when I'm not supposed to be laughing. Over the years I've learned about 'everything in its season' (laughs).”
About Tenma Michiru...
Doesn't give up She has a strong core and hates losing. When we were yokasei, we'd always be really sleepy, but Michiru-chan would be fiercely keeping her eyes open and slapping her face to keep herself awake. I saw that once without her noticing and it made me think 'I'd better work hard too!'
A really fun person!!! She's always been fun, ever since TMS. Often she and Toumi Sarasa would do stand-up together. She's really quick-witted, so she'd make everyone laugh with her great timing. Last year she was able to display her talents at the end-of-year Takarazuka Sky Stage special, which made me really happy.
Warm and big-hearted I laugh too easily and kept screwing up in TMS, but she would always come over with a smile and be like 'Gosh~ What have you gone and done this time!? (laughs)' which would make me feel much better. She shows that big-heartedness on stage, and she's really comfortable to watch. She's very particular and I can see her working hard to improve, which gives me a lot of strength too!
Tenma Michiru, Flower Troupe
“Right, in order to keep myself from falling asleep, I'd put energizing stuff under my eyes (laughs). Mieri (Kizaki) definitely laughs really easily. I'm a nervous type, so when I saw her laughing in situations where I'd never dare to, I thought she was a really cool person (laughs).”
About Matsukaze Akira...
Akari-chan (Matsukaze) is the real hard worker here! Ever since TMS, she's been really stoic and hard-working. Recently, she came to consult with me about facial hair, since I'm her senior in middle-aged man roles (laughs), and we'll see each other's showsand go out to dinner afterwards, but whether it's watching her on stage or talking with her, it really makes me feel that her determination in taking things on has really brought about great results. I feel a lot of respect for her at those times...it makes me feel like I should take things more seriously (laughs).
Always ahead of the times In TMS, when I was using cassette tape to record my vocals, she was the first one to get an MD and IC recorder, which I was dying to have (laughs). Recently, when we have days off she'll go to take lessons in things I've never even heard of. That's diligence for you!
Airhead Though she's so serious, Akari-chan will make the most unbelievable misunderstandings. Suddenly, she'll go totally spacey and show her airheaded side, and it always makes me laugh!
Matsukaze Akira, Cosmos Troupe
“Ume-chan (Tenma) has done a ton of different sorts of middle-aged guys, so I consulted with her in hopes of expanding my repertoire! New things? I don't remember anything about that~ (laughs) It's true, I'm very spacey at heart, so I put a lot of energy in onstage to not let that part of me get out (laughs).”
About Shizuki Otone...
No course-changing! She's very dedicated to her goals and very direct regarding the stage. Therefore, when I go to see one of her shows, we'll end up talking it all over passionately in the dressing room afterwards. On top of that directness, she has a strict side. If she feels something is wrong she'll say so, and I think her ability to state her own views so firmly is really amazing. If I hear some new viewpoint, I'm like 'Is that so~, that sounds right...' immediately (laughs).
Rapid-fire conversation Talking about her feelings for her troupe or whatever, she'll talk so quickly and fervently, it's a flood like 'Bwah~' but she doesn't mumble at all! (laughs) She's always smiling, but if she's ever provoked it's really something!
Bright and very caring! Even if I just run into her in the hall, she'll surely smile and call out to me 'How are you~!? Have you been doing well~?' and even if I'm a bit tired from rehearsals it livens me up! She's been very caring ever since TMS she's been very caring, and currently, she feels like an 'older sister' figure. Recently I've had a lot of older guy roles, so maybe I've been trying to convey those caring aspects a bit??? (laughs)
Shizuki Otone, Star Troupe
“Akari-chan is a dancer type, so since I like dancing, too, maybe I should get some constructive criticism from her. I respect her a lot. Though she says she easily gets swept along, I feel a lot of love for Takarazuka from her, and I think she has a clear goal and a lot of determination. Therefore, I think whatever role she takes on, she'll do really well~”
About Takasumi Hayato...
Passionate and manly - THE otokoyaku! While Moon Troupe otokoyaku tend to have a more gentle aesthetic, Rumi-chan (Takasumi) has Star Troupe style passion. It feels really in-your-face, like 'Bam!' (laughs). It feels really good to look at her. She's always had the atmosphere of an otokoyaku and I really like it.
But when she starts talking... In TMS she was responsible for cleaning the classrooms, so she led everyone firmly like an older sister. Since she had to keep everyone in line I had an image of her as really strict...but in reality she's very girly (laughs). She talks with a sweet demeanor, and that discrepancy is something I just love.
Relaxing Kansai dialect As the current members from our class have decreased, so have the number of Kansai dialect speakers. Rumi-chan is always using it, so even though I'm from Shikoku, just hearing that makes me feel relaxed somehow.
Takasumi Hayato, Moon Troupe
“I've always looked to the Star Troupe members for inspiration, so I'm really happy to hear that! The whole reason I took the Takarazuka entrance exam was because I wanted to be a dignified otokoyaku who looks good in whiskers. I worked hard when I was in charge of the classroom cleaning, but actually I'm not so much the responsible type but a quiet sort, and I can be airheaded...I can't hide that from my classmates, can I (laughs).”
About Rinjou Kira...
She's so nice!! In TMS there's a position called 'Birthday Officer'. Reika received that appointment and she was amazing! She remembers all her classmates' birthdays, and until recently she'd take it on herself to send out 'Happy Birthday' messages in the 92nd class LINE chat! Although that doesn't happen any more since the number of current members has decreased so... (laughs)
The Conan* of the 92nd class When we were yokasei, even though she was the youngest person in the entire class, she was so calm and seemed to already know how the world worked, so one might think 'what the heck is with this kid!?' but on off days she'd sleep really soundly. "On the outside, she's a kid! On the inside, she's a grownup!" fitted her perfectly, I thought. Also, Reika was sort of my dance tutor... In TMS I was always getting instruction from her. I think I'm here today thanks to her!!
Actually a passionate Takarazuka fan! She loves 31 Flavors, Disney, and Takarazuka!! Whenever there are new actresses debuting she'll be like 'that kid's cute~' and check them all out quickly (laughs). Reika really loves Takarazuka from the bottom of her heart!!
Rinjou Kira, Cosmos Troupe
“In TMS I remembered everyone's birthdays, but recently, I haven't contacted anyone...I'm sorry... Conan!? (laughs) I don't think I was that calm, per se, just chilling out... And I wasn't a very good dance teacher. I do love 31 Flavors even now~ Azuran-chan (Takasumi), you know me so well!”
About Houzuki An...
Her legs are just too long!! She had the most amazing impresion on me when I first laid eyes on her in the examination hall! When we were all lined up in our leotards I was right across from her - her skin was so white and she was so tall... Even now, when I see her in a show, the length of her legs makes her stand out and I can't help but think she must have really amazing balance.
Does everything detachedly Ever since she was a yokasei, she doesn't really get people angry with her or screw up a lot, but it's not as if she's pushing herself desperately or extremely determined about any particular thing. She doesn't have anything like that, and just accomplishes whatever she has to with a detached manner. No matter what, she'll do it thoroughly but at her own pace.
Doesn't talk a lot She has a strong mental core, and holds her own views firmly, but she's not the type to chatter on. Since she doesn't really change her expression a lot, when once in a while she does laugh or something, even though I'm her classmate I'll think 'that's so cute~' (laughs). When we were yokasei, we were always together since we had the same cleaning spot, and we were roommates in our honkasei year. She's very pleasant to be around, and we still go out to eat and such sometimes, but she doesn't really extend invitations herself (laughs). I know that's just what she's like, so I don't mind, but I do think it'd be nice if Chinatsu (Houzuki) would be the one to invite me once in a while... (laughs)
Houzuki An, Flower Troupe
“Though I would goof around with everyone, I was the type who didn't get noticed when it came time to get in trouble, I guess (laughs). I'm not so good at getting my emotions to show on my face...I am excited, though! Reika-chan is really nice and comfortable to be with, and she feels like a family member. But I'm bad at inviting people to do things (laughs) - next time I'll be the one to make contact, sure”
About Marika Yume...
Really caring When I transferred to Flower Troupe I had wigs or whiskers for every show, and she would help me take care of them every time. Even though she was so busy, she would take time for me, and I think as an musumeyaku she's really amazing and someone to respect. I'm really grateful to have her as my classmate.
Knows delicious restaurants She's a real gourmet. When we have performances in Tokyo, she always takes me to one of her favorite places. And then while we eat a delicious meal we'll have pretty earnest conversations about our thoughts regarding the show.
A stage performer who can do anything In For The People, there was a scene where musumeyaku were playing soldiers, and she was so cool and sharp in the scene where they were fighting holding rifles! I feel she's not boxed in by being a musumeyaku, but is a stage performer who can really do anything.
Marika Yume, Flower Troupe
“Wigs, right - after coming to flower troupe, Chinatsu ended up with a lot of female parts, didn't she (laughs). In Golden Desert I was playing King Jahangir's (Houzuki's) attendant Rubaba, so I helped her out with her wigs. Although I'm certainly not 'a stage performer who can do anything', it makes me very happy that you would say that! Thank you very much. It's so lovely to have such a cool person talk about me and to be able to talk about someone so cool! I'm so glad I'm in the 92nd class~!! (laughs)”
About Makaze Suzuho...
Loves acting When she's talking about acting she gets way more animated, and watching her in a show you can really tell that she loves acting. When she played 'Death' in Romeo et Juliette, it was really moving how she expressed all her feelings through dance only. It made me think 'Wow! She's become someone from another dimension!' In A Place In The Sun she played someone with a split personality, and it was just amazing! I talk to her a lot about various theatre and drama subjects, and it seems like recently she is into prose plays, and the shows she recommends are always really fun.
Has kindness, discipline, and passion She'll tell people what they really need to hear in the moment, but she's not just kind - she'll also be strict when that's called for. When I'm feeling down she'll tell me 'I'll listen if you need it, so go ahead and call anytime, even if it's in the middle of the night'... I really feel a bond of comrades with her - 'She's working so hard in Cosmos Troupe, so I should do my best in Flower Troupe!' Maybe it's just on my side, though... (laughs)
Loves delicious food! Yurika (Makaze) loves delicious food, so we go out to eat together a lot. But I don't know really what her specific favorites are, so I'd like to learn a bit more about her tastes.
Makaze Suzuho, Cosmos Troupe
“Ahaha~ I'm so glad to hear this. I do love acting and talk about it a lot! Mariko (Marika) will always tell me the good and bad points of my performances. As I've been in Takarazuka longer, I've been more and more grateful to have classmates who will tell me honestly what they think. As for my tastes~ it's basically 'Whatever's tasty!!' I feel... (laughs). But if I had to say, then maybe traditional food! I'm Japanese after all!! If it was my last meal I'd want white rice and something that complimented it (laughs).”
About Seki Yurito...
Total B-Type!! There are a lot of reasons for this... When we were in Star Troupe together, we'd often have neighboring dressing tables, and there'd always be things like powder puff bits? Flying around? And the table would be such a jumble that there was no way to tell if she was still there or had gone home and left it that way (although apparently it's been neater recently (laughs))...but despite all that she would iron her shirts carefully, one by one...while I really like Sekkii (Seki), I'd rather not be categorized together with her as a B-Type! (laughs)
Great physical abilities When we were in TMS, she was so flexible, so much so that I was like 'is she made of konjac jelly!?' (laughs) When Star Troupe did Ocean's Eleven, she was a member of the acrobatics troupe. She did a back bend and even though she was about ken-6 by then I thought 'she's still made of konjac jelly!!' Doing stretches in rehearsal, she always is so thorough about it, so I think she puts a lot of effort into keeping that up...also, apparently she sleeps in really weird positions!!
Brings back thoughts of original determination When we were ken-2 or -3, we both had the lines we'd been given cut since we did them so badly... We were so mortified we just cried in the corner of the rehearsal room... We share so many memories, so when I see Sekkii working so hard in Star Troupe, it makes me really happy and takes me back to my original determination. Even though we're in separate troupes now, Sekkii is a really significant person to me since we were together as junior actresses.
Seki Yurito, Star Troupe
“I hear I'm really B-type-ish a lot (laughs). Right now I have a dressing table next to Yumeki Anru-chan, and since she really likes neatness it makes me nervous so I'm keeping it tidy (laughs). I do sleep in weird positions. Sometimes I'll have my hands over my head and my legs in a ballet position. Stretching is my hobby! (laughs) While Yurika really has it together now, you were really a crybaby as a junior actress and we cried together a lot... Recently I went to see you in the Paris Festival - you were really cool and I was so proud!”
About Mana Haruto...
Really scary as a yokasei (laughs) We had the same cleaning location in the dorms, and since Manaharu-kun (Mana) had a really strong sense of responsibility as a yokasei and was really disciplined, even though I was scared of the honkasei I was scared of Manaharu too (laughs).
So good at acting! Austere characters, young characters, cowardly characters...she's really good at embodying her roles. Ever since we were in TMS and she stood out in the drama recitals, I've thought she's really good at acting, and when I go see her in shows now I still really think that.
Trims the back of her neck She started keeping it trimmed as a yokasei. A honkasei scolded her for having untidy hair, so Manaharu-kun jsut shaved her nape so nobody could tell her it was messy ever again, and found it a big relief (laughs) - I thought that was really brave and manly. Currently she changes her hairstyle with each role, but basically, she always keeps the back short. Lately, when we run into each other at the locker room or wherever, she'll say 'go for it' and pat me on the head. Although she's my classmate, I'm still like 'she's so cool and handsome!' (laughs)
Mana Haruto, Snow Troupe
“I think I must have been really scary! The other members at that cleaning spot were Toumi Sarasa, Taso (Tenma), Chinatsu...a bunch of individualistic and free-spirited people all together, so since I was in charge of keeping them focused I would get angry a lot. Yuriko (Seki) was really responsible, but seeing me like that must have made you awfully nervous (laughs). 'Go for it', did I really say that!? (laughs) I actually hear a lot that I was cool and manly even as a yokasei.”
About Chinami Karan...
Gap between appearance and personality is wonderful Though she's really baby-faced and gives a really cute impression, in reality she's super mature and responsible. Ever since she was a yokasei, she never backed down a bit in cleaning or in arts classes. Even when she wanted to cry, she would bear with it and keep going even as tears ran down her cheeks. I think that's really beautiful! (laughs) Even now whenever I'm in difficulties, I think 'what would Karan-chan (Chinami) say if I asked for her advice about this?' She's really super-human mentally. And she's great at singing and dancing too! Bravo~! (applause)
High personal production values! She does totally different stage makeup than I do, and if I look around no-one else in Moon Troupe uses the same stuff. I think she must have selected it after personal research. Her dress sense is great, and her hair color and style and everything are always so cool! She's always on the cutting edge of fashion and it suits her so well. When we run into each other in the hall I'm like 'she looks so good~!' - I kind of wish I could be like that (laughs).
A good older brother Yuumi-chan (Sakihi Miyu), who transferred in from Moon Troupe, said Karan-chan helped her out a lot. She's really responsible and I think she's really generous with the junior actresses as well. Generally, even if I'm goofing off she'll be like 'gosh~, you're always so funny, Mikkun (Mana)!' and respond like a kind older brother (laughs).
Back around to Chinami...
“I'm not mature at all! What have you been looking at (laughs). Mikkun is really the responsible one...is she like an older sister, or an older brother (laughs). As for the makeup, I've done a lot of research to get closer to my otokoyaku ideal, since I'm so baby-faced. I can't any junior actress who comes to me for advice, so I'll think about how she can best convey her appeal, and if she even looks a little relieved afterwards it makes me really happy too... Therefore, I'm happy to hear someone say that about me.”
GOAL!
* Conan is the title character of Detective Conan (Case Closed in the US), who is a teenage genius detective trapped in the body of a small child.
