I started playing Jack Jeanne and I'm not finished yet so I can't say much about it (I'm having fun tho!)

I will say that just as a personal preference thing, it would add an extra flavor to the game if Kisa was some flavor of trans (her moment of disquiet when she realizes she's lost track of her sense of who 'Kisa' is after acting in different roles, her fear of really letting herself act in a female role in case she accidentally outs herself to her friends, her fear that they'll reject her for hiding herself, Shirota saying that he'll accept her no matter what, etc etc). Kisa works fine as a girl learning how to transcend gender roles as an actor, etc, but it's tempting to poke genderfluid Kisa with a stick....

The game feels pretty alright about gender things but as a queer guy myself I keep thinking "I'm curious how this school's admin would handle a trans masc kid, especially one that wasn't handpicked by the principal..." And I think it'd be kind of cute for 2nd or 3rd year Kisa to meet a 1st year who's almost but not quite an echo of herself (with the difference being 1) he doesn't know who Tsuki is and 2) trans masc) and idk if any of this is a coherent thought but basically a little hamster wheel in my head is spinning and I have to make myself finish the game before I can play with fic HAHA the kids getting a shock that the newest baby first years don't know Tsuki at all

Right now I'm almost to December and working on getting to the Suzu route because I think he's funny and cute but I'm really tempted to start a new file already for the solo route I've been hearing about....I wish to see it...

Also I was like I know it's not that funny but I do think it'd be kind of funny if people figured Kisa out but then thought she was a trans boy instead of a girl in disguise (this goes back to me wondering what school admin would be like about trans students if they, like, existed. Rhodonite is the way it is, so it hopefully wouldn't be...that bad...? They're pretty chill about boys doing whatever they want with self expression)

ever since i saw the "what if machi lived in the tent instead of tohru" fic idea under another what-if fic, i haven't gotten the idea out of my head. i miiiiight write something about it, but idk if i'm cut out for writing long-ass multi-chapter fics, especially ones above 6 chapters.

He tosses the latter up in the air far above his head before throwing the knife up to strike the coin, making a loud ring before he caught the knife again with a flourish on its way back down.

Not that Seth thought this guy could, but hey, he would always at least give people a chance.

Poor Suzu…..He’s having a tough time playing Chance.

The thing is Chance is very much like him personality wise, so he shouldn’t have as much trouble as he did with someone like Jire. The problem? Kisa.

Kisa assumes it’s because she’s a girl, but it’s clear to me it’s more because of Suzu’s feelings for Kisa. I can imagine it’s really hard to act out a romance with someone you’re crushing hard on, especially when that someone doesn’t know your feelings. Suzu has a fine time with Chance otherwise, it’s specifically in the moments when he has to interact with Kisa as Sissia that his acting becomes awkward.

Poor boy is taking it hard though. That scene where he’s apologizing to the rest of Quartz was tough. What was worse was that encounter with Utsuri…Suzu couldn’t even argue back against Utsuri’s comments…

Also, man it’s super cool that Suzu can do somersaults but I can’t help but feel nervous knowing his ankle issues…I know he’s typically an active guy anyways, but I’m worried for my sweet guy, I don’t want a repeat of the Fall Performance.

dead girl walking came up on shuffle and now I'm thinking about third year amber leader neji trying to convince his class to do heathers

in the hypothetical scenario where kisa ended up in amber, we could have:

chui or neji as JD, take your pick

neji or kisa as veronica sawyer

kamiya and momonashi as the heathers. plus either chui or neji or kisa as heather chandler

if sou also ended up in amber, we could have sou as martha dunnstock if kisa is veronica

tbh I think anyone can switch around these roles? like, at first I was thinking of chui as JD and kisa as veronica. or neji as JD and kisa as veronica. but it might be more interesting to have chui as JD and neji as veronica, while kisa/kamiya/momonashi are the heathers, and the trio can actually bond over however they all feel about chui and neji (I think if kisa ended up in amber, kamiya and momonashi would respect her and actually befriend her lol). neji would put a twist on the original musical and let the trio improv who gets to be heather chandler, because all three of them would kill it and put their own spin on it. maybe they take turns on who wears the scrunchie

anyway. please imagine your choice of pairing for JD and veronica doing dead girl walking (both original and reprise). i am so sure neji will want whoever's acting the scenes to go 110%. heathers just feels like such a neji kind of play to me (cue minorikawa once again going, "uh did the school really allow them to produce this kind of play?")
