He entered the waiting automobile and drove towards Brantford. En-route he forced the taxi-driver to leave the automobile and then continued his wild flight. Outside Brantford, he ran into a cordon of policemen who had been awaiting his appearance and 45 minutes after the robbery was en route back to Hamilton under guard. 

WIFE ARRESTED Mrs. Elsie Simons, wife of Milton (“Nick”) Simons, was arrested here at a local hotel yesterday following the capture of Simons, alleged jewelry robber and holdup man here, earlier in the day.

The woman appeared before Magistrate S A Jones charged with vagrancy and at the request of Chief Stanley was remanded in custody for ten days until the chief satisfies himself about the valuable jewelry found in her possession. 

Mrs. Simons, who gave her address as 212 Bay street, Hamilton, and who is stated to have lived in Chicago before she married Simons, has a fine wardrobe. Her appearance in court this morning bore out the statement of the police that she possessed plenty of very good and fashionable clothes. A white hat with white short fur coat and salmon pink and white dress made her conspicuous in the drab surroundings. Seated next to a local Indian woman arrested as a drunk, she presented a distinct contrast.

It is also expected here that Mrs. Simons will be re-arrested by the Hamilton police as an accomplice in the robbery with which her husband is charged.

GREAT NEWS!! Reciprocity, it's official! You may now hire an electrician or plumber from these cities to do work in NB. This was our topic and concern at NN over a year ago. I am so pleased to see this change and I thank the people who made it possible.

There has been a lot of discussion about the Alembic project to refurbish the DRC, the City Club and new buildings on the 1.8 Acres of primo property over looking the Hudson. I am thrilled that the city has scheduled 2 public meetings on December 6th to discuss the project and to have the developer there for questions. I hope the city does not finalize anything about this project until the citizens of NB are satisfied that this is the right project for NB. I also remind everyone that we don't want to scare away developers until we know for sure their projects are unsustainable for this fiscally troubled metropolis or just the wrong fit. I do recommend that you let your council members know if you are concerned and come to the meetings with questions ready.

CHEAPER GREENER POWER! Now that sounds good. Newburgh can participate in a CCA, Community Choice Aggregation if we are interested. Beacon is involved in this and wants to know if we would like to participate. I am more than happy to sponsor a meeting to explore the possibilities of joining in this new system of combined purchasing.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP Come one, come all to our first BFPcreative and Navigating Newburgh sponsored meeting!

There is so much talk about JOBS. Newburgh needs jobs and I am afraid they are not going to just show up on their own. No large corporate Knight in shining armor is going to bless us with the latest and greatest manufacturing gig. We have to create these jobs ourselves. The only way I know how to do that is by inspiring, promoting, and fostering entrepreneurship.

The first entreprneurship meeting will be held at Deja Brew Cafe & Gallery "15 Liberty St, Newburgh NY 12550" on Saturday November 18th at 2pm.

This will be a brainstorming session for business owners, forward thinkers, entrepreneurs, and anyone else who wants to start a business.

Future meetings will be held in different locations to showcase local newburgh entreprenuers in action.
