There's a new book coming out about #KingCharles, #CharlesI, that is. You know, the king that was executed? #ARCReview #CharlesIsPrivateLife #MarkTurnbull #BookReview #NetGalley #PenandSwordHistory #StuartDynasty #BritishHistory #August2023Books #newbooks
The execution of King Charles I is one of the well-known facts of British history, and an often-quoted snippet from our past. He lost the civil war and his head. But there is more to Charles than the civil war and his death. To fully appreciate the momentous events that marked the twenty-four years of his reign, and what followed, it’s important to understand the man who was at their…

"Queen Elizabeth didn't like POTUS Trump..." says a nobody trying to be somebody during a USA election year. 🙄
Tumblr media
As we approach the anniversary of the dearly beloved Queen Elizabeth's death, a nobody is determined to speak for QE about POTUS Trump.
This gossip is beneath the dignity of the most admired woman in the world, but it confirms how terrified these globalists are to have DJT back in the White House.
Tumblr media
This old chestnut: "Queen Elizabeth was displeased with Donald Trump because of his behavior while inspecting the Guards..." (sigh)
Tumblr media
Trump is a BIG guy and QE was a little woman.
youtube
To inspect the guards, POTUS was to walk quickly AHEAD of QE11, but he wanted to stroll along & chat. He's so much taller than her that he stopped as if to say, "where'd she go?"
I'm sure he was told to walk quickly for the inspection, but he stood looking around for the little, tiny Queen who then motioned (again) for him to KEEP GOING.
Melania did something similar to her husband w/her "keep going" hand motion in Israel, but people chose to make a mountain out of that molehill bc unfortunately, Melania accidentally swatted her husband's hand.
Recently at Barron's graduation, Melania laughed outloud as she coaxed her husband with both hands to sit down. I thought it was a cute moment because POTUS was beaming. It was reminiscent of Charlotte ordering Louis to "sit down" in his chair at the Platinum Jubilee celebration.
Tumblr media
President Trump has a genuine affection for the BRF. Donald Trump's mother was born and raised in Scotland with her parents and siblings. After she emigrated to the United States, she traveled home to Scotland at least once per year with Donald's sister.
Ivana, Donald's first wife and mother of his 3 eldest children was fond of the BRF and had a friendship with Princess Diana. Ivana was born in Czechoslovakia, but also possessed citizenships in Austria and Canada where she skied and learned English before emigrating to the United States.
Of course Donald's current wife Melania is also European. Melania emigrated to the United States as a model from Slovenia.
The Trump family has always possessed a sincere admiration for Great Britain and for Queen Elizabeth. It was obvious to me that POTUS Trump looked upon Queen Elizabeth as a mother figure and would never do anything to disrespect her as a person or her professional role.
Over the years, Neal Sean, Lady C and all the other leftist royal vloggers have been giddy to share anything negative about POTUS Trump.

It makes me sad that Charles and William have pledged allegiance to the WEF and to that Great Reset. They are woefully ignorant of the repercussions of such alliances. There are dark days ahead for the UK. They better pray DJT is re-elected.
Tumblr media
Perhaps writers should focus on what is rotten in the UK instead of QE-DJT gossip. Why not write and discuss the reasons QE felt she had to hold on (despite such intense pain) for such a very long time. She knew..., and yet she trusted God. 🥺

It's finally here, people! Forgive the long wait:
The Trials and Tribulations of Trying to Plead to a King
Kensington Palace is now home to a bereaved husband and son. Unfortunately, this is only the start of the tragedy...
Main Characters:
William III - Following the death of his beloved wife and mother of his child, the King of England seeks justice. And he will stop at nothing to get it.
Mary II - The reluctant Queen for many reasons had only her husband and darling son to cherish. Well, until her untimely demise, that is.
Prince Edward - The heir to the British throne after his parents, he ends up caught in a tangle as he gets placed in the middle of his father and the assassin William wants rid of. He is expected to handle this affair like the prince he is. But is he going to end up spiralling downwards??
Hans William Bentinck - The loyal friend of the King who is too stricken with rage to acknowledge his presence.
Arnold Joost van Keppel - Rising to power during the furore, he too has no success trying to recover William from the trauma of the assassination.
Princess Anne - The sister of the late Queen has grown to deeply cherish her young nephew. She also does not approve of William forcing him into a full on war. Which William only realises too late...
Prince George - Anne's husband who also dotes on Edward who confides in him and his wife more than his father.
Clarissa - A young lady who has just moved in from the country. Caught up in the furore, she ends up stuck in a massive nightmare she could have never imagined for herself. There is death on all roads she is forced to travel down. Will she pull through??
Chapter One
1:40 pm, Brompton Road, September 1690:
BANG.
It was a sound absolutely no one wants to hear. Especially not on a carriage ride.
Especially not when you are on the streets, greeting your sovereigns.
BANG.
Again.
And in that moment, every smile on every face vanished, transforming into grimaces of horror, fear and shock.
You couldn't forget, no matter how much you might want to.
Especially not when screaming was heard not only on the narrow, yet crowded streets, but from the inside of the rich carriage now rapidly performing a 180 back to the grand walls of Kensington.
"Mary! Mary, oh goodness - MARY!!"
What?! It can't be -
"MARY!!"
"Drive faster, man! She's bleeding, can't you see that?!"
Who's bleeding??
William III was always known as a quiet, dull, unaffectionate man to most people.
But today, that all changed.
"DRIVE!!!!"
The scream from him was enough for the whip to go down even harder than the last time. He was now holding the unconscious Mary II tightly in his arms.
"NEIGH, NEIGH!!"
The poor horses!!
Clarissa Hemsworth couldn't move. Not even when she hit the concrete. Because all she could feel was feet stabbing her in every corner of her body. The stampede had begun.
There was no denying it.
OW OW, OOF.
2:00 pm, Kensington Palace, September 1690:
The Queen was now plunged into bed while her despairing husband was curled up in the corner of the room, shaking uncontrollably with sobs, his dear Edward drifting between the two, trying to keep composure.
Please don't die Mary, please don't die-
"Your Majesty??" That was Bentinck, shaken.
Only then did the crumpled King look up.
"Find him." A nod. "FIND HIM!! PLEASE!"
"With Godspeed!" That was Edward, with all the strength needed for a prince of England. "We demand whoever did this.. this.. act.. to be punished! IMMEDIATELY!"
Mary please don't die!! -
Mother, please be strong -
"Oh goodness me!!" Dr Radcliffe gasped, straightening back up. "This wound goes deeper than we thought!"
No. Just please, no -
"IT CAN'T BE THAT BAD IF ONE BULLET HIT THE CARRIAGE!!" the prince yelled, storming back over to the bleeding bed, William trailing behind him.
"It Can't Be!!" The King had gone from screaming to sobbing again.
However, soon after, the mob of servants outside heard nothing but silence.
The Prince and Princess of Denmark were kept outside with the servants, Anne in particular banging on the door to get in and help while George had to hold her back. But even they knew the news they were dreading was going to come out of those doors.
"NOOO!!" The King - "NO, NO! NOOO!!"
"Please!! I need in!"
"Anne please, this isn't going to work -"
"Darling Mary, wake up PLEASE!!"
"Mother please, just wake up! -"
Brompton Road, September 1690:
It had taken what seemed like years for Clarissa to find the strength to stand up.
What on dear Earth just happened? Did that just happen? I could vomit. Truly vomit.
Right here, right now.
Was this what she moved here from Devonshire for? Witnessing shootouts at carriage rides??
Well, she was here now.
You have made your grave. Lie in it.
Wait what?! It's 'bed', not 'grave'!
And at that moment, the sky darkened.

The Long Good Friday (1980)
"Alan found him dying. He'd been nailed to the floor."
"When was this, then?"
"Well, it must've been just after you saw him and just before Alan saw him. Otherwise, you'd have noticed, wouldn't you? I mean, a geezer nailed to the floor. A man of your education would definitely have spotted that, wouldn't he?"
#the long good friday#british cinema#1980#john mackenzie#barrie keeffe#bob hoskins#helen mirren#derek thompson#eddie constantine#stephen davies#bryan marshall#p.h. moriarty#paul freeman#dave king#patti love#pierce brosnan#brian hall#paul barber#francis monkman#I'm late to this party but hell‚ this one deserves its reputation. an incendiary‚ even prophetic film; a perfectly timed capturing of that#moment everything in the uk shifted as Thatcher took power‚ capitalism became truly king‚ and with it came the dawn of the yuppie mindset#the legitimisation of the London underworld‚ gentrification and a new age of international aspirations: the US‚ Europe‚ and the New Britain#desperately shedding its dusty‚ working man's image to appear (like Hoskins here) to be civilised and refined and (crucially) a going#concern in economic turns. but underneath it all there's still the razors and the bigotry and corruption. all time Hoskins performance here#giving it everything and absolutely killing it (the final scenes among the best of his impressive career). but there's everyone else‚ too;#every single role seems tonbe a familiar face‚ right down to mute background roles. Keeffe's script is sharp and funny but it's also#unashamedly complex; the plot is labyrinthine‚ underneath the simple conceit‚ and never feels the need to spoonfeed what's happening and#why. topped off with a great moody synth score that's sparingly but effectively used. happy to say this one lives up to the hype#and Derek Thompson‚ as he so often was‚ is brilliant. between this and his tv work from the era (Harry's Game and The Price especially) he#really had the makings of a true star (but if he was happy in Casualty all those years‚ so be it)

Just look at them... George and Mary are soooo good looking. Their relationship was the standard too
