National Farm Animals Day

Farm animals take quite the hit in terms of living conditions, diets, hormonal injections, etc., and this is why it is important to lend our voices to the cause this National Farm Animals Day on April 10. First celebrated in 2005, the day is meant to bring awareness to the overall rough conditions that farm animals are forced to live under. Capitalism has led to a gross increase in demand for livestock by commercial brands. To sell the most amount of meat and dairy products, animals are subjected to growth and antibody injections.

History of National Farm Animals Day

National Farm Animals Day was first commemorated in 2005 by Colleen Paige. Paige is a  well-known celebrity pet lifestyle expert, an author, and an animal rescuer amongst her many other accolades and titles. While the day is not registered as an official day, it is still widely celebrated in the U.S. as the message it aims to convey resounds with many across the nation. 

One of the main reasons the day was inaugurated was to shed light on the poor living conditions of farm animals. Firstly, because of commercialization and capitalism, livestock is produced and maintained in large populations. Often, this means cramped and extremely tight living spaces for the animals. All of this leads to poorer health conditions for them as diseases and infections can spread easily amongst the animals. Moreover, to market products to the masses, farm animals are also endlessly injected with antibodies. 

World Day for Farmed Animals is also celebrated on October 2. The main purpose of both days remains the same — to protect farm animals in the long run by providing better living conditions for them. Going by simple logic, the farm animals’ products we consume will only be beneficial for us if the farm animals themselves are kept in great conditions. We can start to raise awareness about the day by spreading the word about it and donating to the right organizations.

A Dragon and Their Matching Familiar

Enrialla, my oldest dragon, and her beloved Bast.

Bast is in fact the youngest of a long line of King Parda, bred for the ancient royal family Enrialla's blood is tied to since the species itself was domesticated.

As old as she is, Enri has had many beloved familiars live and pass under her care. Bast, however, she finds herself exceptionally bonded to. Thankfully, they are a long-lived creature, and she looks forward to many years with her beloved companion.

As for the picture, um, well. It fought me from the start to end. I was baffled as to why, but finally noticed /when I was almost done lining/, that my pen settings had reset. Dear lord.

At least it's done now. Enri needed art so badly.

The Arigos

The Arigos are blood vassals of the House of Lightning. They inherited the title and the name of the extinct the Parda family, according to legend, descended from the second son of the first Marechiara's Anax - Astrapion, but some 'guardians' of the purity of blood consider the Arigos are half-bloods.

The only representative of the House is Germont Arigo, the son of Pierre-Louis Arigo and Caroline Arigo. At the request of his father, he was disinherited and exiled to Torka, which he never left. In fact, the letter from his father, which deprived Germont of his title, was forged by Master Capotta, the lover, or rather the secret husband, of his mother and the father of his half-brothers and sister: Guy, Joram and Katarina.

After the accession of Francis the First, they took the side of the Ollars and have been the most faithful servants of the Talig for four hundred years.

Lionel isn't inclined to equate all representatives of the old nobility and even all participants in the latest uprisings with Talig's enemies, distinguishing the instigators and organizers of the uprisings from ordinary participants who had no choice. After graduating the Laik, according to family tradition, chose a military career, as did his twin brother Emile and younger brother Arno.

The Colignards

The founder of the family - Sebastian Colignard - was a foundling left at the gate of a monastery near the town of Colignard in County of Arigo, from where the surname later originated. NBA 20/21 OESTE

Dallas Mavericks

 Mantienen más o menos el mismo bloque, añadiendo a Richardson (buen defensor y en pretemporada parece que ha mejorado el tiro de 3). La salud de Porzingis, clave para ver posición de playoffs en una año ultracompetitivo en el Oeste. Si Luka mantiene los números del año pasado, teniendo suerte en los cruces, la final de Conferencia es su tope.

  Denver Nuggets

 Mismo nucleo. El desarrollo de Porter Jr en defensa, crucial (en los pick and rolls iba perdidísimo, el pobre…). Intrigante lo que pueda hacer Bol Bol. Jokic y Murray, faros y guías. Buen banquillo (Campazzo, Morris, Green…) y rookie que puede dar la sorpresa (Hampton)

Houston Rockets

 El culebrón Harden decidirá su temporada. Si hay traspaso, intentarán revalorizar a Wall y Cousins y traspasarlos luego para obtener alguna de las rondas del Draft que perdieron al traer a Westbrook. Si se quedara Harden, mal quinteto no tienen (Wall, Harden, Wood, Tucker y Cousins, con Gordon de sexto hombre), pero el banquillo sigue endeble y sin pivots y la segunda ronda, salvo sorpresa, sería su tope.

 LA Clippers

 Un equipo con Kawhi y Paul George debe ser aspirante a anillo. Mejoran el juego interior con Ibaka por Harrell, traen a Batum y Kennard para salir desde el banquillo. Los problemas de vestuario para adentro por el “load management” de Kawhi y el carácter de George pueden ser el principal problema, como el año pasado. Lue vuelve a un banquillo NBA (primera vez sin Lebron) y su principal reto es mejorar la química del equipo, definir roles y hacerse respetar por los dos peces gordos…

 LA Lakers

 Campeones y encima bien reforzados (Schroeder, Gasol,  Wes Matthews, Harrell…) van a por el “back to back” y el quinto anillo de Lebron, fundamental si quiere toserle a Jordan…

 Memphis Grizzlies

 Un año más maduros, los jóvenes Grizzlies van a por plaza de playoffs, cosa cotizadísima este año. Mismo bloque, una lesión de Morant o Jackson y adiós temporada en un Oeste que no toma rehenes…

 Minnesota Timberwolves

 Sobre el papel, quinteto más o menos solvente (Rubio, Russell, Beasley, Rondae Hollis jefferson o Juancho y Towns, con el nº1 del Draft como sexto hombre), pero banquillo de papel de seda. Towns y su defensa y ganas de ganar, su barómetro. Pillar playoffs (o plaza de play-in tournament, como poco) lo tienen complicadísimo.

 New Orleans Pelicans

 Muy interesantes los fichajes (Adams y Bledsoe), buen quinteto, un anotador solvente (Ingram) y la bestia parda Williamson, con todos los ojos en su (gigantesco) cogote para ver si es una estrella, un atleta, un lider, un bluff… y a dónde lleva al equipo.

 Oklahoma City Thunder

 Peor equipo del Oeste en todas las quinielas con Gilgeous-Alexander muy sólo (con Ariza, Hill y Horford, como únicos veteranos solventes). A verlas venir y a rezar por una elección alta del Draft 2021…

 Phoenix Suns

 Cambian a Rubio, Baynes y Oubre Jr por Chris Paul, Jae Crowder y E´Twaun Moore. No sé si en un Oeste tan competitivo como el de este año les dará para Playoff, pero a Oklahoma tampoco le daba el año pasado y mirad lo que pasó… De la salud de Paul y de cómo lo hagan Booker y Ayton (que debe aportar más en defensa) dependerá la cosa.

 Portland Trail Blazers

 Buenos fichajes (Covington y Derrick Jones para cubrir el sitio donde más cojeaban, los aleros y Kanter para aportar puntos desde el banquillo) la pareja Lillard-McCollum (una de las mejores parejas exteriores de la liga) y unos cuantos jóvenes candidatos a dar un paso al frente (Trent Jr, Simmons, Giles y Collins). Muy mal se tiene que dar la cosa para que se pierdan los playoffs, su tope, Final de Conferencia si los astros se alinearan.

 Sacramento Kings

 Otro equipo que poco tiene que rascar salvo sorpresa mayúscula. Jóvenes aún, Fox aún no es All Star, Bagley está muy verde, han perdido a Bogdanovic y se rumorea traspaso de Hield. Guy, el chaval que han drafteado parece buen tirador, algo es algo…

 San Antonio Spurs

 Equipo serio en defensa, las estrellas juegan en la media distancia, pocos tiradores puros…

Después del “jogo-bonito” del anillo de 2014, ahora parecen casi un equipo ochentero por estilo de juego. No apuesto en contra de un equipo entrenado por Popovich ni borracho, pero, mal que me sepa, este año lo tendrán complicado para ir más allá del torneo de Play-in. Lo que he visto de Vessel en pretemporada, me ha gustado mucho, creo que va a ser un acierto.

 Utah Jazz

 Siguen los mismos del año pasado y traen de vuelta a Favors. Los equipos con continuidad, suelen ser mejores el segundo año. Si Conley por fin encaja, están sanos y tienen emparejamientos decentes en playoffs, con Mitchell a buen nivel, pueden aspirar a final de conferencia.
