Since the new adventurers bible came out in japan a few months ago there's not a fan or an official translation I ran parts of it through machine translation to try and snag the post-canon additions they made to the character bios (these were really rough translations because it was machine translations so I apologize for any errors when a real translation comes out):

Had a thought about Gai and Dai in GOS, was curious on your thoughts on it (I made myself cry again). Sorry for the fanfiction length.

But, what if for a while, Gai wasn't sure if he wanted to go back for reincarnation after his second life. Like no offense to Obito but... THAT LIFE WAS AWEFUL. It had some amazing highs. But the lows were so deep it was a miracle he clawed out of them. He lost his humanity. His family hated him. He had to fight Fucking uh..... That guy!!!

(Madara: I swear to me if you forget one more time-)

It was terrifying. And depressing! He never got to be with the man he loved in a way he wanted because he was a fucking dragon!!! He couldn't even bring himself to confess! Was not a fun time!!! He's almost happy to be dead because at least now he can see his hands again. His human hands...he hadn't seen them in centuries.

And Obito feels a little bad but he also struck a deal with Hashirama that Gai's next life would be amazing! Absolutely stunning. If Gai wants to move on to the next part of death, of course, he wouldn't stop him but... that would devestate his brother... so before Gai made a final choices, he asked him to see one person who wanted to see him first.

And Gai of course thinks it will be Kakashi but...its Dai. Its his original papa...

And of course the two break down seeing each other and holding each other in the classic Maito hug (can't not have it happen.) And after catching up and informing Dai about his new life, Dai listens and takes it all in stride...but very much wishes to meet Gai's so-called "father" and get him very aquainted, with his fists!!!

But after they get reaquainted and calm down, Obito tells him the plan. That when the time is right, he'd like to not only send Gai back...but send them back together, as father and son again. In a world less unforgiving (their tribe originally predated farming before the godly intervention. It was VERY hard life), full of "modern" comforts. In a time of peace. They both might need to wait a while, and he might need to practice this whole reincarnation thing because well...he's new at it and its a little hard. But he could give them an amazing shared life together if they trust them.

And they do.

Which results in King Dai, and Prince Gai. And true to his word it was an amazing life. For both of them. To the point that every time Gai would die and meet Obito again he really was all "When can I go back again?!" All enthusiastically!

But after Dai meets Gai again after the third life ends and upon hearing his story, it turns out...Dai won't be coming back again. Not ever. This was his last life.

Not because he didn't love both lives. He's not giving up on his youth...but he knows the next life has no guarantee that Gai would be his son again. Or a life after that, and he is happy just to have had the opportunity to raise Gai not only once, but twice. To hold his sweet baby son once again and then see him grow into a noble man which he might not have been able to see in his first life... all that was more than he ever wanted. He is at peace, completely fulfilled and ready to move on to the next part.

But he insists Gai should stay. Gai should be reborn as many times as he likes, forever if possible, because Dai can see the world is a better place when his son is in it. And he wants Gai to know that no matter how bad things get, or how hard they are, how old or young Gai ends up becoming, even if he becomes a dragon again or a tiny worm in the future... that Dai is always will watch over him in his own way.

No matter how the world shapes Gai's life, and who or what he becomes... Dai will always love him, and his eternally youthful spirit.

There's probably more Maito crying (because THEY NEED TO FEEL) I could even see Gai's spirit becoming a child for a bit as his papa hugs him, but they both accept each other's choice.

I'm not sure what becomes of the dead when they move on in this world. Or if Dai could have become something akin to Kakashi's lightning after his human die and their spirits mingle with his power forever (as Gai and Dai are both mortals). But I like to imagine some part of Dai is always with Gai in his heart/ spirit from there on out. No matter the lifetime or what happens, the voice of Dai cheers his heart on, and Gai keeps the spirit of youth alive with his papa in that way. Even if he can't remeber him in life, he feels his warmth in some way, always. And he gets to remwmber his papa and his kind words every time he dies.

Also Hashirama is watching ALL of this to the side with Obito (both times). He's outwardly bawling and Obito is subtly crying- ("NO I'M NOT! I HAVE SOMETHING IN HIS EYES, OKAY?! ITS DUSTY IN THE UNDERWORLD!!!"), and both go see their dads afterwards for....reasons!!!

Just... I'm sorry. I love Dai and Gai so much. Sorry if none of that is true/ even slightly what you invisioned. I just like the idea of them having their own little story in this grand universe.

Ohhh all of this is beautiful and i really love the moment when the two choose their paths going forward, knowing full well they may never interact again but also getting the opportunity to tell each other how much they love each other.

I wouldn’t have Dai mingling with Kakashi’s lightning, but death in this world is very… interesting. There are spirits (like Hiroki’s daughter who hangs with Nakano) and the actual domains for dead people, but i think Dai would be one of the special few

A star that Obito places in the sky so he can watch over the world, and Gai, at all times. Dai has always wondered how things would progress and he gets to see it for himself for all of eternity. He even gets to watch as Kakashi turns into a mortal and finds Gai all over again, just to fall in love with him again.

And every-time Gai dies he gets to remember not just his parents love from that last lifetime, but all his parents love. Especially the love he gets to remember that Dai had for him.

But also, as a star Dai gets to have visitors and you bet your butt Kakashi’s going up there once in a while to make sure he’s doing ok. Gai even gets to start visiting his papa in the sky once he becomes a god 🥰🥰🥰

WHEN THE BEST OF THEM SAID, "AUTOGRAPH PLEASE!"

Per accounts of many known industry insiders, who may even have seen & certainly heard first hand of it, from those heady days of the mid 70s!

Rajesh Khanna was getting ready as usual for another shot for another upcoming, & soon to be superhit per norm, another new film, on studio sets this one day, when a hand suddenly came from behind, & oh so sweetly uttered "Autograph please!".

The voice startled Rajesh, for he'd heard it many times before, but not in these settings. So quickly turned back to identify that long-known honey dripping sound, & was left shocked to see the great Nargis standing in front of him, with a autograph book in hand! So stunned was even he by this sight, that forgot to, almost in disbelief, react! Realizing his sweet conundrum, Nargis affirmed her original words, & thrusting her autograph book in front of his face, again, & even more emphatically this time, repeated, "Yes. AUTOGRAPH PLEASE!".

It has been hard for anyone to till today understand the magnitude of euphoria of the Kaka phase. But this one imagines would've had to've been the greatest compliment he would ever have received! The 3rd greatest actress of Hindi Cinema (@ Indies), the National Sweetheart of 50s India, The Nargis, standing like a little school girl, for a measly autograph, in front of a much junior artist!

Many Bolly commentators over the next decades have, for almost silly reasons (and why???), tried to explain away this incident as Nargis taking autograph on behalf of her teenage daughter who would also, like everyone, have been a huge Rajesh Khanna fan, but to yet many others, an unlikely scenario. - This was the greatest mark of respect bestowed upon The Great One, by a fellow great!

Furthermore, given how Nargis's husband, Sunil Dutt, & Rajesh, were known to've been locked in a No. 1 battle back in the 60s, Rajesh bearing the handicap of having started off only in the latter half of 60s, yet coming very close to Dutt for the 60s Top Spot (That's for traditional No.1 spot, as Ashok Kumar, though far ahead on numbers, didn't operate in the traditional leading man stratosphere by virtue of age, by then)!

PS. Infact the Nargis-Khanna connect has even further dimensions, via, if insider sources are to be believed, both of them having at some point of time eyed the same residential property for a home! For 'tis said, both Nargis & then jubilee King Rajendra Kumar, had staked their monetary reputations on the line, in an auction for a much-wowed Bandra bungalow owned by a Parsi magnate, that was on sale back in the 60s! That solely on account of the Rajendra-Nargis auction war, managed to reach more than twice it's original expected sale price, selling at a reportedly whopping sum then of Rs. 18 Lakhs to Rajendra Kumar! And that was sold by Kumar, subsequently in the early 70s, at a reportedly unheard of sum of Rs. 10 crores, to Rajesh Khanna..the same majestic bungalow he then spent all his life in!

Both incidentally also succumbing to cancer too.

Watched the deepfake video of Kaka and C. R. of Myth I-don’t-know-which time. And it raised my interests of the BGM, Beautiful Myth. I sang it on Karaoke King and got a high score, leveled SSS. Even my emotional performance, which was often on the average line, was graded as excellent. Speculate that the video awakened and helped magnify my feelings for the song.

Since I gradually got back to working timetable, found nothing but Hot in Cleveland the best for watching over eating. It’s light, relaxing and entertaining. And there are 3 seasons to be watched, which means about one month to go. Moreover, it could be counted into English listening practice. Killing three birds with one stone.

The IELTS mock tests didn’t go well. Except for listening, other two made me in a hurry at the last moment. As a matter of fact, I had thought that listening was not good either, at least wouldn’t be better than last time due to a blank I left untouched. But to my surprise, it was banded to 7.5. It comforted me to some degree.

Got dressed delicately for going out after the shower. Put my rose embroidered dark blue blouse on a black close-fitting sweater. It’s a fashion I learned from a show recently. And it worked for me.

Went to supermarket for grocery shopping, but only to find it closed for new year holiday and not open till tomorrow. Took it well without frustration or other negative feelings. Actually, I enjoyed the rare walk and was glad to make it longer by going to Lawson on the other end. Life free from tight time and strict plans enables me to embrace the unpredictability.

Like the day before yesterday, IELTS made me tired easily. At the halfway of ELSA IELTS Band 7 lessons, I got easily unfocused and couldn’t have insights like yesterday. Not long after I finished part 2 topics, I went to sleep at 10pm, leaving today’s diary and speaking test undone.

Irenaeus accused Marcion of “impudent blasphemy” for saying that the god proclaimed in Jewish scripture was “the maker of evils.” Yet Marcion was a student of these same scriptures. He pointed out that in the book of the prophet Isaiah, the creator announced: “I am he who creates evils” (kitizōn kaka, 45:7). These “evils” are sometimes translated by the word “woe,” an archaic term still featured in the New Revised Standard Version (1989). Other English translations opt for “calamity” (New King James, English Standard Version, New American Standard). The original Hebrew term rāʽ includes disasters like famine, pestilence, and war, but it also includes morally perverse actions. Translators bring out this moral sense of the term when they refer to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (rāʽ) (Gen 2:17). This same ambiguity between moral and physical evil is present in the Greek translation kaka (Isa 45:7). The Lord who creates kaka could be interpreted not only as the creator of pestilence and plague, but also of moral vices like jealousy, rage, and bloodlust.

Isaiah 45:7 was not the only verse Marcion(ites) used to associate the creator with evil. In Jeremiah 18:11, the creator announced to his own people, “behold I fashion evils (kaka) against you”; in Micah 1:12 it is said that “evils (kaka) have descended from the Lord against the gates of Jerusalem,” and in Amos 3:6, the prophet asks: “will there be evil (kakia) in the city which the Lord has not caused?”

It is instructive also to note that the creator sends “an evil spirit” against his anointed king Saul in order to choke him (1 Sam 18:10). From the Jewish deity’s production of “evils,” Marcionites deduced an evil creator. Their mode of thinking, I propose, was shaped by their reading of their gospel. They recalled and often repeated the saying of Jesus that a bad tree produces bad fruit (Evangelion 6:43). The principle is simple: evil doings emerge from an evil character.

A sign of the creator’s arrogance, according to Marcion(ites), was the fact that he swore by himself (Isa 45:22– 23: “I am god; there is no other, I swear by myself”). In effect, the creator lacked evidence for his uniqueness, so he appealed to his own authority, employing a kind of self- authenticating and self- deifying rhetoric.

Jewish scripture typically presented self-deifiers as horrible sinners suffering a swift demise. For instance, the personified city of Babylon proclaimed: “I am, and there is no other!” (Isa 47:10). Ezek 28:1–10). 

The most open and stubborn form of self-deification, however, was not perpetrated by Lucifer or Babylon. The most patent self-deifier in Jewish scripture was the creator himself, who repeatedly announced, “I am god and there is no other!” (Isa 45:22); “I am god, there is no one like me!” (Isa 46:9); “Behold, behold that I am, and there is no god except me!” (Deut 32:39). When Marcionite Christians encountered these apparent boasts, they made a logical conclusion: this god was not simply asserting his authority and control over world history; he was infected with the vices of ignorance and arrogance. He did not know that the Father revealed in Christ— the true god who performed no evil— was far superior.

Good evening, Aizen, I have a question that has been upsetting me for a while, since Yamamoto Shigekuni died at the hands of Juha Bach, how did his soul get to hell? Shouldn't it have been destroyed since he was killed by a Quincy?

Indeed. I must admit that you're the first Anonymous to impress me, as I've been pondering this very same question for some time now.

Thus, I have no definitive answer for you, only conjecture and supposition.

Supposedly, one of the reasons the Shinigami were so keen to attempt to commit genocide of an entire race of people not once, but twice, was because of the belief that when a Quincy arrow pierces a Soul, it is removed from the Balance, forever.

I've always wondered about the veracity of this claim.

It seems a sort of impossibility, a violation of the laws of conservation of mass and energy. What happens to the reiatsu of those Souls? Are they simply absorbed by the Quincy? That's a reasonable assumption, since Quincy have that ability. However, my understanding of Quincy Souls is that they are an immutable part of the usurper, Juha Bach's Soul--they come from him, they return to him. Should they not, then, remain a finite, closed system? Unless, somehow, the return of a Quincy who has gained reiatsu is how "new" Quincy souls are born?

Honestly, I'm uncertain.

However, it is notable that Hell does exactly what a Quincy arrow does, which is to remove troublesome amounts of reishi and reiatsu from the wheel of reincarnation, permanently, forever.

One of my going theories is that Quincy weapons do not actually "remove" Souls by disappearing them somehow, but simply drops them directly into Hell, just as Shinigami do with the performance of Konso Reisei.

Thus, if this conjecture is correct, it's possible that Yamamoto arrived in Hell directly on the wings, as it were, of a Quincy blade, unbeknowst to the Shinigami. They then performed a useless ritual, condemning whichever poor Hollows they deemed a worthy sacrifice to Hell, as well.

If that theory is incorrect, there are still some possible answers to our question, Anonymous.

Could Hell have taken Yamamoto for his crimes, like it does other wicked Souls? No one saw the Jaws of Hell appear at the former Captain-Commander's death, but it's possible that there are other ways to arrive in Hell, if you are deserving. And, do not doubt, Anonymous, that if any Shinigami Soul deserved Hell it was Genryuusai Shigekuni Yamamoto.

This theory seems the least likely to me, if only because Hell seems to be fond of dramatic appearances and pronouncements when it deems a Soul worthy of a direct, one-way trip. Although, my Espada Szayelapporro Grantz seems to have been taken without fanfare. So, this theory is still an option, perhaps, despite no sighting of the Gates themselves at Yamamoto's death.

Another theory is that the Balance simply required the sitting Soul King send Yamamoto to Hell directly upon his death.

It is possible Captain-Commander's bankai special ability, known as Zanka no Tachi, Minami: Kaka Jūmanokushi Daisōjin or Longsword of the Remnant Flame, South: Great Burial Ranks of the Ten Trillion Fire Dead caused an upset in the Balance too severe for any other option.

If you recall, this special ability allowed Yamamoto to return to the material plane the ashes of any Soul that Ryuujin Jakka had killed. He then 'heated' said ashes in a way that recalls their Souls--or, one must presume, some part of them--to these ash-zombie bodies.

We know that when a Shinigami dies, so does their Zanpakuto.

Is it then possible that when Yamamoto died the fragments of the reiatsu of these "ten trillion fire dead" were also finally, fully released? Perhaps Yamamoto was, in this case, dematerialized entirely by Juha Bach's Quincy blade, but what caused Hell to weaken was the arrival of these "ten trillion," some of whom, no doubt were captain-level shingami or Hollows, after the Konso Reisei was performed.

I suppose we will never know.

However, you gave me a moment's diversion, Anonymous. For that, I am eternally grateful.

In honor of my 25th birthday, here are 25 facts about me and our beloved franchise, Yu-Gi-Oh!

I’ve been collecting the cards since I was 6.

I watched the original anime when it was first coming out in America. Back when it was on KidsWB, I believe.

The dubs are the only way I’ve ever experienced the shows. I can’t bring myself to watch the subs because of it. Also it was a wonderful thing to look forward to every Saturday morning, back when they still had cartoons on at the time.

When I was little, I’d pull cards out of my collection and duel one of my sisters. We didn’t know all the rules, so we’d end up with huge hands and a lot of nonsense turns. So it was almost like Season 1 of the original anime, except in real life.

I learned how to duel properly in high school. For some reason, Yu-Gi-Oh! became really popular to play when I was a junior/in the 11th grade, so I got to enjoy it with other people. Ran an Agents deck, wasn’t very good, but I had fun.

I’ve written Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfiction since I was in the 5th grade, which was roughly about 2006 or 2007. I also started writing Naruto fanfiction at about the same time, but I haven’t written that nearly as much as I’ve written Yu-Gi-Oh! stuff.

My first three Yu-Gi-Oh! OCs are characters I still use to this day. They’ve evolved a lot over the years, kind of growing up with me. In case anyone’s curious, their names are Carrie West, Jessica West, and Mirage. Carrie’s the main one, Jessica’s her sister, and Mirage was originally just supposed to be like a “Yami” for Carrie. She’s much more than that now, but I won’t bore you with the details.

The first time I saw anything 5Ds-related, I thought it was stupid and avoided watching it. Thank the Crimson Dragon I gave it another try.

This isn’t news, but my favorite characters in the franchise are Yugi Muto and Yusei Fudo. Still bitter about how much Yugi is ignored in favor of Yami/Atem, even in official merch. And also bitter that a lot of images of Yusei on official stuff erases his criminal mark, even though he’s had it since like Episode 6 and always had it in the manga, from what little I’ve read of it.

I met my best friend through fanfiction for this franchise. I posted my work on good ol’ Fanfiction.net, she reviewed, and the rest is history.

That friend got to go to Japan and see Darkside of Dimensions there. She also sent me some Yu-Gi-Oh!-related stuff that she bought while in Japan, including a DSoD booklet thing.

Said friend also got a recording of LittleKuriboh using his Yugi voice to say that I’m “super-special-awesome” as well as his signature in a 3-in-1 manga for the original series. It was at AnimeNorth, I believe, a few years ago now.

I was introduced to Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged in high school by one of the boys I played the game with. The first Abridged thing I experienced was Leather Pants.

I thoroughly enjoyed Marik Plays Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, which is why I bought and played the game myself. Wish he’d go back to it, but until then I’ll just rewatch the videos every now and then.

Some kid on my school bus stole my Uria, Lord of Searing Flames card (which came from the tin based around it; I mistook it for Slifer at first) and my Black Luster Soldier card (might have been from one of Yugi’s early Starter decks.) I let him look at my card binders and the little shit took them out. >:/

My older sister wrote fanfiction that included a couple of my characters as a big part of the plot. This was because our characters were cousins. Anyway, I looked through it while chatting with my best friend. It. Was. Fucking. Awful. Carrie was completely out of character. Mirage wasn’t being utilized correctly. I anonymously ripped my sis a new one through a review on FF.net, which caused her to take it down and come to me, saying something about how I had great fans who would defend my OCs and she was sorry. She still doesn’t know it was me.

As a result of the above, I stopped including her OC in my writing, and I actually had the character killed off in a OneShot because I didn’t want her lingering in my plots in any way. Said character was also paired with Kaiba in a very out of character fashion, so I set him free from her shackles. Now he’s in a crack ship in my universe with my bestie’s OC, nicknamed KaKa due to their names.

I have a couple of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds OCs. They’re twin sisters who, because of me deciding how much time passes between the original series and this spin-off, are the great-granddaughters of Yugi Muto and one of my OCs.

I tried to play...Duelist of the Rose?? a game for the PS2 while at a friend’s house. Couldn’t get past the first fight which was with...I want to say Rex or Weevil. But the characters were using names from like King Henry and shit. Yugi/Yami said his name was Henry, but to call him Yugi, like what???

My current card collection count (try saying that five times fast) sits at 2813. I have them split among four binders, three of about the same size and one thin. Two of the four are just Monster cards.

I wish they’d stop making new rarities for cards. Toon Chaos was basically scalped because of that, but also it’s just unnecessary. There are lots of rarities available. They just stopped using some of them for whatever reason. Like, gimme more Ghost Rares and less Collector’s Rares, please!

I have ships I ship, which obviously include some OC x Canon ones, but I won’t name them. Shipping wars are dumb.

My favorite female character in the franchise is...a tie between Mai Valentine and Akiza Izinski. Don’t get me wrong. I like most of the lady cast in general. Also, I prefer Mai before her voice changed and Akiza during the Dark Signers stuff over who she becomes later in the series, which is just Yusei’s love interest.

There’s kind of a running gag in my Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfiction between me and my bestie. For the longest time, even if the story didn’t involve him, Kaiba kept appearing. I made a “meme” image to commemorate the reoccurring event, which is simply a pic of him with the words “Kaiba appears nonetheless” in impact font.

I started this blog on a whim. No idea why I did, but I’m glad that I never deleted it like I did so many other sideblogs. It has been an honor to be a part of this community. You guys have been amazing <33

Okay, I was thinking about it a bit more and wanted to show you all how big these extinct birds were.

Now, New Zealand is known for having many big birds that are much bigger than overseas cousins. Like the kakapo for example.

This little bird here is the heaviest parrot in the world, weighing in at around 2-4kg. This renders them flightless as their wings are not able to support their weight.

NZ also has other birds that frequent our skies and the ground, many of them large in size. Birds like the kiwi, which is small, but quite round, and is unique with its beak shape. It is also flightless. We also have the kea and kaka respectively. Also, the takahe, and its skinnier lookalike, the pukeko. So we have lots of big birds, and lots of diversity when it comes to our birds.

Which brings me to the moa.

This bird was 3x the size of modern day ostriches, the current largest bird. The biggest of them weighed around 230kg and were around 3.6m in height when their necks were stretched out.

So these things were massive.

Now, you probably think that these were the kings of the jungle. Nothing ate these, nothing went near these until humans rolled around.

You’d be wrong.

These massive birds were prey to one other:

The Haast’s Eagle.

Known as the ‘Man Eating Eagle’, this bird frequently hunted Moa, and didn’t mind snacking on humans (according to Maori history). These birds weigh in at an estimated 14kg, which doesn’t sound much, but keep in mind, a 4kg kakapo can’t fly. This is 14kg of pure death flying straight at you. To put this in perspective, no Eagle has exceeded 9kg in weight. This bird is around 40% bigger.

Though they had a smaller wingspan than some birds today (mostly vultures), it still spanned around 2.5-3m from tip to tip, which is around the same length as a bald eagle, or for the Australians out there, the wedge tailed eagle that lives in Aussie.

However, Haast’s closest living relative is not a wedge tailed eagle, as once thought, but rather, the little eagle or the booted eagle. These birds are much smaller, and means the Haast’s Eagle increased in size by 10-15% in around 1,800,000-700,000 years, which is incredibly fast for an evolution of a whole new species.

Back to their size. These birds were massive, and readily preyed on the biggest guys in town; the moa. We kiwis should almost be grateful that these huge sky hunters are extinct, or we may not be able to walk outside without being scooped up and carried off (I’m kidding, it sucks we don’t have these great beasts around anymore). Moa were massive, but these eagles were so strong that they killed moa simply by flying down at a speed of around 80km/h, and upon reaching their prey, were hitting them with the same amount of force as a concrete block dropped from an eighty story building.

So yeah, there’s some fun history on New Zealand’s birds and my inspiration for Virgil’s wings. Hope you enjoyed. And yes, I know.
