Saudi Arabia's first "Comic Con" event - a US-based pop culture movement - was held in February. The three day festival of anime, pop art, video gaming and film-related events was the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia.

3. Stadiums open to Saudi women

In another landmark move, Saudi Arabia announced its decision to allow women to enter sports stadiums for the first time from next year.

The ultra-conservative kingdom - which has some of the world's tightest restrictions on women - has long barred women from sports arenas by strict rules on segregation.

4. Entertainment city planned

Riyadh announced plans to build an 'entertainment city' outside the capital, Riyadh. The 334 sq km park will include a safari, sports facilities, theme park and other activities.

Saudi Arabia also announced it will build a series of theme parks in the Kingdom with US-based developer Six Flags involved in the projects.

5. Music concerts allowed

A series of concerts by international and Arab artists were hosted in Saudi Arabia in 2017 including the first exclusively female music concert with a performance from Lebanese singer Hiba Tawaji.

Saudis spent billions of dollars annually to see movies, attend concerts and visit amusement parks in neighbouring tourist hubs of Bahrain and Dubai.

"LIBERATE TRIO HELD IN DRUGGIST'S DEATH," Toronto Star. April 10, 1934. Page 5. --- Megaffin, Nichols and Curtis Discharged by Police Magistrate --- "No bill" having been found by a spring assize grand jury last week, Cecil Megaffin and Harold W. Nichols, charged with manslaughter, walked out of men's police court today free men.

"A grand jury finding no bill against them last week. I am given to understand the charges will be withdrawn," said R. H. Greer, counsel for Megaffin.

"I have no instructions to the contrary," replied F. I. Malone, crown attorney.

Edward J. Curtis, held as a material witness in the same case, had the charge withdrawn.

The charges arose out of the death of Clelland Russell. Pape Ave.. druggist, who was found on the running board of his car with his skull battered.

O'Reilly alias O'Brien, who charged jointly with Gerald was H. Browne with breaking into Herman Speers' drug store on Gerrard St. E.. March 19, had admitted stealing $13.40 and a quantity of cigarettes and tobacco. He was given 60 days in the reformatory while Browne was discharged.

T. B. Horkins made a strong plea for mitigation, pointing out the accused had only been married three months and was making a determined effort to reform and live down several other convictions of theft. "He is a wanderer from Nova Scotia without guidance," he pleaded. "He was perfectly frank about it all and accepts all the responsibility."

"He has had experience In crime," his worship observed. "If it were not for counsel's plea I would be tempted to send him to the reformatory for two years: his record warrants it. There is no doubt in my mind that he was shielding this other man."

Nemcsak a lemez új, hanem bizonyos értelemben a zenekar is, bár a kreatív mag maradt, „jelentős zenei nézetkülönbségek” miatt – bármit is jelentsen ez – Diego Tejeida kilépett, helyére pedig a régi-új billentyűs, Peter Jones került (aki nem mellesleg már az előző albumon is föltűnt vendégzenészként). Nehéz lenne megmondani, hogy Peter Jones újraigazolása miatt, vagy éppen a ��zenei nézetkülönbséget” kiváltó szemléletváltás miatt, de a „Fauna” hangzásképe érezhetően eltér az előző két lemezétől, és nagyon jelentősen az első néhány albumétól.

Meg kell adni, a Haken vérbeli progresszív formáció, mindig keresi az új utakat, a megújulás lehetőségeit, mert irtóznak az önismétléstől. Ennek szellemében született meg az egyszerre futurisztikus, egyszerre retró, ’80-as éveket idéző „Affinity„, valamint ilyen indíttatásból – és talán részben a Mike Portnoy-jal megosztott színpadi élmények hatására – a „Vector” (2018) és a „Virus” (2020) elmozdult egy keményebb, metálosabb – mindenki értse jól! – dreamtheaterösebb irányba. Van, aki értékelte, de legalábbis elfogadta ezt a kísérletezést és van, aki a „Virus”-szal végleg elengedte őket. Nekem a „Virus” nagyon bejött (a lemezt záró kétperces nyűglődést leszámítva), még úgy is, hogy némi szimpátiával figyeltem a kezdeti zenei szemléletet, a finomabb, cizelláltabb megközelítést hiányoló régi rajongók panaszait.

Hogy milyen furcsán vicces fordulatokat produkál az élet: én most kerültem abba a lelkiállapotba, amelyikbe az első néhány lemez szerelmesei találták magukat az elmúlt néhány évben. A „Fauna”-val a banda a kísérletezés egy olyan fázisába lépett, ahová már csak nagy vonakodva, kényszeredett mosollyal az arcomon tudom követni őket. Nehéz megmagyarázni, hogy mi változott. Az pl. azonnal, az első hallgatásra föltűnt, hogy az első (és nem is éppen dallamos) gitárszólóra a negyedik számig kell várni. Tudom, hogy ez már csak az olyan merev, minden újdonságra gyanakvóan tekintő „tatarockernek” tűnik föl vagy okoz problémát, mint amilyen én vagyok, de ez van.

Az olyan dalok, mint a „Nightingale” vagy a „Beneath The White Rainbow” szimptomatikusak abban az értelemben, hogy belőlük világosan kiolvasható: a dallamosság és a gitárszóló, mint a rockzene szent és sérthetetlen „intézménye” különösebb lelkifurdalás nélkül föl vannak áldozva a djentes szinkopáció és a poliritmizálás oltárán. A „The Alphabet of Me” pedig nekem már konkrétan hallgathatatlan pop/electro szörnyszülöttnek tűnik. Valahogy az egész album túlzottan gépies, technikai, futurisztikus, lélektelen lett. Kiemelkedően a legjobb szám egyértelműen az igen összetett, ám (a maga hakenes módján) dallamos, 11 perc fölötti „Elephants Never Forget”, amelyben – a lemez szempontjából atipikusan – több hangszeres szóló is van. Ez a szerzemény nagyjából olyan, mintha a Dream Theater „Six Degrees Of Inner Trubulence” album első lemezéről maradt volna le. Talán az is jelzésértékű, hogy a Haken a Between The Buried And Me-vel és nem pl. a The Flower Kings-szel, de még csak nem is a Circus Maximus-szal indul turnéra.

A hiba alighanem az én vevőkészülékemben van. A zenészek lenyűgözőek, a dalok szokatlanul különlegesek és technikailag igen bonyolultak, a zenei képzettség, kompetencia, kreativitás szembeötlő: a lemezt mégis hagyom a polcon. Most először. Majd megveszik, akik nálam fiatalabbak és rugalmasabbak. Illetve ők már nem veszik meg, hanem sztrímelik valahonnan, rosszabbik esetben jutyúbon hallgatják. A parádés „Elephants Never Forget”-et (na jó, meg alkalmasint a lemezt nyitó bikaerős „Taurust”-t és az albumot záró, igen hangulatos „Eyes of Ebony”-t) én is fogom – mármint sztrímelni.

Similar to Sanji, he is very proud of your hard work! Due to his more approachable and joyful personality, he doesn’t get jealous that the crew prefers your food over his! He agrees!!

Since he is also a commander, it gives him a break every once in a while when you suggest to cook for the crew. Though he also finds himself worrying if you can handle feeding all those hungry stomachs-

You two probably have cooking competitions! Like who can make this dish the fastest! It’s really fun for the other crew members too and they bet on their fave (usually you-)!

When he is sick or feeling down, he appreciates you making his favorite foods or soup. He doesn’t usually like being babied, but it means a lot to him that you care enough to want to help him!

Though he is proud of your hard work, will still call you his Sous Chef. He has his own pride as being the Whitebeard Pirates’ Chef, and not even you can take that away from him! He loves you though and isn’t power hungry about it, if it really bothers you, he won’t call you it.

Saudi Arabia's first "Comic Con" event - a US-based pop culture movement - was held in February. The three day festival of anime, pop art, video gaming and film-related events was the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia.

3. Stadiums open to Saudi women

In another landmark move, Saudi Arabia announced its decision to allow women to enter sports stadiums for the first time from next year.

The ultra-conservative kingdom - which has some of the world's tightest restrictions on women - has long barred women from sports arenas by strict rules on segregation.

4. Entertainment city planned

Riyadh announced plans to build an 'entertainment city' outside the capital, Riyadh. The 334 sq km park will include a safari, sports facilities, theme park and other activities.

Saudi Arabia also announced it will build a series of theme parks in the Kingdom with US-based developer Six Flags involved in the projects.

5. Music concerts allowed

A series of concerts by international and Arab artists were hosted in Saudi Arabia in 2017 including the first exclusively female music concert with a performance from Lebanese singer Hiba Tawaji.

Saudis spent billions of dollars annually to see movies, attend concerts and visit amusement parks in neighbouring tourist hubs of Bahrain and Dubai.

6. Cinema ban lifted

For the first time in 35 years, cinemas in Saudi Arabia opened their doors to the public.

7. Tourist Visas

With promises of new entertainment facilities, theme parks, cinemas, concerts and water parks, and the promotion of Saudi Arabia's historical sites, all that was missing was the ever-elusive tourist visa. The government approved a tourist visa program in October.

8. Mixed-gender national day celebrations

The kingdom's national day in September saw women allowed to enter the Riyadh's main stadium to join in with celebrations for the first time.

The presence of women at the King Fahd Stadium marked a departure from previous celebrations in the Gulf kingdom.

Women were allowed to enter the stadium, a previously male-only venue used mostly for football matches. Women and their families were seated separately from single men but it allowed them to watch a musical show and a play on Saudi history.

9. Yoga

Fitness enthusiasts in Saudi Arabia can rejoice - yoga is officially back on the program.

The Saudi ministry of trade and industry has officially approved the teaching of yoga and listed it under their sports activities.
