Yine izledikten sonra uçup giden bir dizi ile karşı karşıyayız. Yeo Mi-Ran (Kim Ok-Vin) kariyerine odaklı, kadın haklarının sıkı savunucusu bir avukattır. Eğlence sektöründe çalışan bir şirketin hukuk departmanında çalışmaya başlamasının ardından Nam Gang-Ho(Yoo Teo) ile yolları kesişir. Nam Gang-Ho(Yoo Teo) ise şirket bünyesinde çalışan, kadınlara güvenmeyen bir aktördür. Aktörümüzün menejeri Do Won-Jun (Kim Ji-Hoon) halka ilişkilerini yönetmek ve aktörün imajını korumak adına sahte bir sevgili haberi yapılmasına karar verir. Avukat kızımızla da bu rol için “sahte ilişki” anlaşması yapılır. Dizi de bu iş birliği üzerinden ilişkilerini konu alıyor.

Eğlenceli bir romantik komedi mi yoksa klişelere boğulmuş bir hikaye mi arasında gidip gelen orta yollu bir yapım olmuş. Klişeleri alıp, yer yer dalga geçen ama kullanmaktan geçinmeyen bir senaryo var. Buna rağmen hızlı ilerliyor. Temposunu hep yüksek tutma telaşesi var. Klişelere tahammülü olmayanlara da göz kırpıyor. Başrol kadın karakterimiz bir tık benzerlerinden farklı, daha güçlü, daha maskülen, daha başına buyruk.

Erkek gibi kadın karakterimizde aşka inanmıyor. Güçlü kadın karakterler her zaman 1-0 önde başlıyor. Aşka inanmayan sadece kendine güvenen bu kararkterimiz evet diğer kurtarılmayı bekleyen karakterlere nazaran farklı ama bu fark ne kadar ilgi çekici tartışılır.

Oyuncular yanyana yakışıyorlardı ama benim fikrimi sorarsanız oturmayan birşeyler de vardı. Belki karakterlerin yeterince derin olmaması, yüzeysel olarak anlatması nedeni ile bu şekilde düşündürmüş olabilir. Hiçbir karakterin arka plan hikayesi ön planda değildi. Yan karakterler öylesine geçilmiş gibiydi. Menejer rolündeki oyuncuyu sevmeme rağmen kotaramadı diyebilirim. Her hikaye oldu bittiye geldi. Ruh halleri sürekli ışık hızında değişti. Birçok eğlenceli olabilecek konu arka planda kaldı. Özetle yüzeysel bir hikaye olarak kaldı diyebilirim.

Klişeler ile dalga geçmesi eğlenceli olsa da aşırı klişe kullanmaları bir süre sonra abartı gelmeye başladı. Yenilikçi hiçbir şey yoktu diyebilirim. Olaylar tahmin edilebilir, sahneler öngörülebilirdi. Eski dizilerde olan hop nefret et hop aşık ol hızına sahipti. İlişki gelişimleri aceleye getirilmiş gibiydi.

Love to Hate You, romantik komedi arayışında olan ve kafa dağıtmak isteyen izleyiciler için bir seçenek olabilir. Klişeleri kullanma şekli, eğlenceli anlatımı ve başrollerin kimyası sayesinde keyifle izleyebilirsiniz. Ancak daha derin bir hikaye veya karakter gelişimi bekleyenler için aynı tadı vermeyecektir.

Love To Hate You

This 10-episode long series is fun to watch. It has it's comedy, romance, and action. I like the fact that conflicts are not dragged unnecessarily and they are resolved in a realistic way. I like how these characters transform as they interact with each other. I liked the friendships too. Exes were mature in how they dealt with their feelings for the person they had broken up with. It was refreshing to see them not make a huge issue once they realized things were definitely over.

I really enjoyed watching it.

I didn't really want Hyun-soo to become a murderer, but it was so satisfying to see Hee-sung utterly terrified.

They have accused him of murder baselessly all his life; now finally he is going to be what they said he is. And BHS freaks!

I loved this bit so much! Because people did horrible things to him all his life and all he wanted was to get away from them. He had zero interest in revenge.

But here, BHS hurt Ji Won, killed Ji Won (or so he believes) and now Hyun Soo is more terrifying that BHS ever dreamed of being.

I liked Mi Sook preventing him from being a murderer because she does see the similarities in them - two tortured victims driven into a corner in a different way; and she’s grateful for being saved. Because otherwise, yikes.

And we get that scene of HS chasing him through the forest, with the focus still on his wedding ring.

Seriously this? This is scary. He has finally and truly snapped.

(this actually made me laugh. You got what you wanted, why are you complaining?)

And then he sees his father again and is following him. Yikes omg the symbolism of that is NOT GOOD. He is pretty much disassociating.

Meanwhile, Ji Won finds out that he may think he is dead and her face goes !!!!! as it should. She knows more than anyone, how fragile her husband’s…everything…is.

Yes please! I do love that she’s not talking about saving him from a physical peril but a worse peril - to his soul and sanity and sense of self.

I found this interesting. Because sure Ji Won has that opinion - she’s a cop. But if there ever was a man who needed killing, it’s BHS.

In conclusion, I am a disturbed person but this was sort of hot.
