Raja Mannar jr. and Raja Mannar sr. having almost the same style with that scarf around their necks.
Now I think about it.....perhaps it's Rajamannar who copied Varadha's style lol because Varadha wore it first? But then again Rudra also sport this style once and also one of the lords from Ghaniyar tribe so I think the scarf was somehow also a high fashion choice for the elites perhaps in Khansaar đ€
You know what irked me the most about the contrast of the scene when Rajamannar invited Varadha to be lord again he pat his shoulder as he walked pass him and Varadha was smiling happily just from little acknowledgment that his father spared him đ all his life Varadha mightâve doubted himself, why he couldnât be loved by his own parent unconditionally why, and that doubt he carried with him through his entire life just like a little boy hoping someday his father would say that he is proud of him, the damaged that Rajamannar have done toward this man is irredeemable.
Pissed me off that Raja mannar didnât even spare a glance at Varadha when he walked beside him during the trial like Varadha was in this position because of him too? Like he didnât just suffered the most assault from this mofo almost losing his life because of Rudra and Ranga ganging up on him to take his place that Raja mannar himself offered for him? Why daddy? donât you have brain and a little heart?
Who am I kidding asking for a heart from a man who initiated and advocated the ethnic cleansing of shouryangaas this man is no better than h!tler. Deserved whatever coming his way in Salaar 2. I want it to be as brutal as the way he massacred them đđ in their sleep, will never forget and never forgive and shouldnât Deva and his entire remaining tribesmen.
âMake your disgrace complete now (still bringing up the land he threw away when he was a kid)â he taunted Varadha before he made his decision about lifting the ceasefire or not??? Like WHERE IS COMPASSION?? Your two sons and his entire people almost got wiped out when you werenât in khansaar but all you could think about was about keeping âpeace?â There is no peace to speak off the moment they decided to ambush Varadhaâs residence and almost killed him! He injured Varadha ! there are scars still fresh and visible on his face!
This kind of parents deserve not just jail time but GRAVE! Gladly I would like to see his demise in either Devaâs hands or Varadhaâs own but whatever way i will be the one who cheer the loudest.

family dynamics.
â Devaratha â
We know that Deva is someone who feels emotions strongly, he's very reactive to things that happen in his life.
However, from what we can tell, his family is the exact opposite:
Deva's father, Dhaara, was next in line to the throne, which implicitly means that the Shouryaangas saw Dhaara as someone rational, trustworthy, and 'brutal' enough to lead them. We also know that Dhaara was strict.
and Deva's mother is someone who â even though she is capable of warmth â is very blunt when it comes to her display of concern & approval (or it's lack thereof). For her to accept Dhaara's death so rationally, and not go into an emotional spiral, (including not seeking vengence for his death) shows that even she is predominantly very practical.
Deva, for his whole life, was a boy full of very big emotions in a family that operated through & handled most situations with logic.
Even though both his parents must have cared for him, Deva must have felt very alone before Varadha came along, trying his best to hold all of his overwhelming emotions inside himself â especially with a family that may have understood his violence, but not the place it came from.
â love, a definition: part one [part two / part three]

Mannnnn I just canât wait to see prabhas in this lookđźâđš
I too think he had this look after varadha sat on the throne. We saw a glimpse of this look in the tunnel which is the way to khansaar. I feel like deva will become like the general in KGF( I forgot his nameđ) who stands at the door of gold mines. Varadhaâs man is gonna protect khansaar from outside threats, yeahhhhhhhh yk in KGF after rocky killed Garuda everyone wanted narachi. I feel like after Raja Mannar, rudra and many powerful people deaths in khansaar it will spread out and there will be a lot more outside threats so deva made the decision to stand at the tunnel and kill everyone who dares to try to cross itđ„. And thatâs why he is called not only varadha ka salaar but also Khansaar ka SALAARđ
So what do you think about this pic? When? How? Deva looks sickđ„
Interpret it the way you like.
funny story how this picture was responsible for me suffering a nose pain [there is a whole story of me being to distracted and running into a glass door] anyways this is probably Deva standing guard around the place Varadha is in [like a house or something] where he has already killed some very "smart" people who thought they could kill him or even better get past him to get to Varadha (talk abt death wish)
#salaar#deva#devaratha raisaar#varadha raja Mannar#varadeva#varadha is busy with the inside business and politics of khansaar as it is a mess and he just became the new karta#so deva took the burden of outside#hot hardworking supportive boyfriendsâ€ïž

itâs 6am and im drowning in varadeva thoughts!
prashanth neel really created 2 stalwart hulks w the physical dexterity to turn all of khansaar crimson red, while simultaneously building them to have the SOFTEST heart for each other!
they meet after 25 long years, and require no acclimation WHATSOEVER before displaying physical affection towards each other! not a moment of awkwardness. they melt and shrink w each other without any hesitation. tol big men soo smol đ„ș so attuned to each otherâs bodies (!!despite the physical distance that stretched for more than 2 decades!!)
idk man but itâs fr refreshing to see two big men, carrying the capacity for such extreme violence, also embrace each other so intimately and be so vulnerable w each other!
they do not feel any pressure to give in to the macho-man-lacking-emotions persona bc they simply do not give a fuck! they feel a lot and their feelings towards each other are far greater than any possible need to push out an image of a tough, ruthless interior. they missed each other, and everyone will have to endure that!
just boyfriends always caring for each other. varadha looking out to ensure his man has his chili powder (to be loved is to be seen!! bc you remembered that detail for 25 years?) deva making space for him to lay his head, CARESSING him, making sure heâs taken care of in such a vulnerable drunken state, remaining by his side through the night đ„čđ„č he would jump in and fight off the nightmares for varadha if he could!
these are all !!open!! declarations of love, your honor! and my men donât shy away from it either. they love each other and they will make it everyoneâs problem (cue the flashback to narangâs beheading for being audacious enough to touch devaâs varadha in his presence)

-The sultan, however big the problem was, wouldn't deploy his formidable army. Instead, he would go to only one man. Whatever the sultan wished for, he would bring it to him. Whatever the sultan rejected, he would destroy...Khansaar changed the fate of a lot of people. But what changed the fate of Khansaar was when two best friends became arch enemies.

Saiga Okadu, Sainyam Okadu
A Salaar fic
pairing: Varadeva
warnings: mentions of depression, suicidal thoughts
-
Varadha stares in despair as he watches the truck cross the gates of Khansaar, taking with it the boy that had been Varadhaâs entire world for the past few years.Â
A part of him wants to run after him, screaming to all who can hear, Come back! I need you here!Â
But Varadha knows this is for the best. His own father had sent men to kill Deva and his mother, and had already killed Dhaara. There was no telling what his father would do to Deva after realizing that Varadha had given up precious land for him. Not that Varadha regretted that action, he would have given up anything if it meant Amma and Deva could live.Â
Itâs okay, heâll be safe now, he tries to tell himself, but he canât stop the tears from falling as he gets into his car. He barely registers the driver starting the journey back home as it finally hits that his Deva is gone.Â
-
âWhy did you give up the land?âÂ
Varadha has never been more afraid, yet angry at his father. Thereâs nothing he can say that wonât implicate Deva, and thereâs nothing he can say to get himself out of this situation. So he goes with the tactic he uses whenever Deva isnât with him. The weight of silence gives him relief.Â
âWhy wonât you answer?â Raja Mannar looks like heâs reached his last straw, and Varadha is proven right when pain suddenly explodes on his cheek, and he reels back from the blow, dropping to his knees. He keeps his eyes on the ground in front of him, and stays just like that, unmoving.
Eventually Raja Mannar calls guards to throw him out of the court.Â
âVaradharaja Mannar has given up all of his rights to be a Dora, and to be a member of this family,â Varadha hears his father proclaim to the audience behind him as heâs dragged out.Â
Good riddance, he thinks.
-
At first, Varadha tried to pretend he was above engaging with his brothers. Rudra was relentless in his insults, and many others in the court soon followed Rudra.Â
Itâs okay, itâs only for a few more years, Varadha thinks. He knows itâs not true, but he has to stay strong. He doesnât have Deva anymore, but he can do it. Heâs a survivor. Varadha has been fighting his family all his life, from even before he met Deva. He can do it again.
The years pass.
Itâs okay, Varadha thinks as he gets hot tea dumped on him from a shopowner that he realized too late was a friend of Rangaâs.Â
Itâs okay, Varadha thinks as he is made to stand with his arms crossed in the hot sun, waiting for Rudra to let him go.Â
Itâs only for a few more years, Varadha thinks as he tears his gaze away from his gun, and closes his eyes. His fingers shake with the effort to keep the muzzle away from his own temple. He canât. They can beat him, they can humiliate him, but they canât take away his dignity. Not yet, anyway. And besides, what would happen to Baachi if Varadha wasnât there? His darling little brother, part of a group of very few people that genuinely cared about him, and the only remnant of his birth mother. Varadha had made himself a bigger target on purpose so Baachi would be relatively safe, but he has no delusions that his cruel brothers wouldnât hesitate to tear Baachi apart with Varadha gone.Â
He throws the gun away, hears it shatter against the walls of his room, and thinks about a boy he had once loved. A boy that had sheltered Varadha from all of this, a boy that had made Varadha hope for a better life, even for the very throne of Khansaar. That boy is gone.Â
You could call him back, a traitorous voice whispers in his head. He promised to come back, for you.Â
No. Deva was his savior, his best friend. It was because of Varadhaâs family that Devaâs own had been torn apart. Deva had protected Varadha, and now Varadha would do the same for Deva. He didnât need to come back, could live in peace with Amma wherever he was.Â
Is he happy? Varadha thinks. He hopes so. If he is, then all of this is worth it.Â
-
Raja Mannar had left.Â
Varadha didnât care much for anything, these days. He was paying attention to the politics of the court, of course, but nothing else interested him. Oftentimes he heard Baachi scolding him for not waking up early enough in the morning, or forgetting to take meals, but in his defense the days had started to blend together. Varadha didnât think he was capable of feeling strong emotions at this point, and he supposed thatâs what happened when you lived in a constant state of anxiety and fear for a few decades. At some point thereâs nothing your enemies can do to surprise you.
And thatâs exactly when they surprised him.Â
Varadha tried to fight, he really did. But Rudra, Ranga, and the others outnumbered Varadha and his men almost twenty to one. As he was forced onto his knees, and Rudraâs calloused hands gripped his nose ring, Varadha thought this was the end. At least he was going with Baachi and the people that had stayed loyal to him. If this was his death, then be it.Â
He had not expected the ringing of the Khansaar bell, the ceasefire announcement, or the slight disappointment he had felt at realizing his last few days alive would be spent trying not to die like a sheep.Â
Varadha wanted to cry.Â
Well, I can still feel sadness, a small part of him thinks.Â
Not for himself, of course. But he had always wanted Baachi to be spared. Who could protect him now?
He thinks again of the boy who had protected Varadha as a child.Â
Deva⊠could help Baachi.Â
No, he had already decided to keep Deva away from Khansaar.Â
But Baachi would live.Â
Varadha sighs, feeling the weight of all the years he spent alive. He had no other choice, then.Â
-
Varadha walks into the mechanic shop, not knowing what to expect.Â
He recognizes who he came for immediately.Â
Although Deva has grown, Varadha can still see the confident manner in which the other man carries himself, the broad shoulders that Varadha had thrown his arm over countless times, the care with which he handles whatever tools heâs using.Â
Maybe he doesnât even remember you. Maybe heâs so much better off here.Â
Varadhaâs stomach clenches, but he pushes past the fear. A memory comes to him, of a young Deva touching a live wire just to get Varadha his nose ring back, and he trusts that Varadha meant to Deva what Deva meant, and still means, to Varadha.Â
His heart wonât calm down no matter what he tries, so he just ignores the nerves. He takes a deep breath.Â
âDeva!â he calls.Â

Varadha's goofy ass boyfriend.
.
.
(Also it's so funny the way I didn't realize in the first watch the reason that Deva was wearing long sleeve on his left hand the entire time was in fact to cover Varadha's demon seal tattoo and not just to cover his electrocution scars or fashion statement only lmao his goofy ass made that tattoo by himself and then later used it as a brand for Varadha đ if this wasn't the kind of devotion at the highest order. He literally offered Varadha his demon persona for him to use as some kind of guardian devil watching over Khansaar bringing fear to all his enemies. Also that's why you shouldn't be tattooing anything on your skin that's related to your lovers when you're drunk in love with someone because when you two became ex-lovers it's too freaking embarrassing to see or show those tattoos to the public eyes lmao)
#salaar#varadeva#prabhas#devaratha raisaar#honestly he was so goofy during all those scenes who he tryna impress by acting cute? us?#for me this doesn't look like a man who resented what ever happened between him and Varadha#perhaps he was just tryna mask his sadness#but nah my theory is that Deva wasn't burdened that much about whatever happened 7 years ago he didn't carry it around like guilt#in other hand it looked like Varadha was the one who became even more distant with himself and his humanity hmmm#also who says Prabhas as Deva didn't have much personality? come here we need to talk#Prabhas' Deva is perfect and also he is acting according to Neel's vision and he delivered#yes I know he covered it because he didnât want people know about his association to khansaar#but itâs more funny to think he covered it because he didnât want to remember his ex

I suddenly remembered Deva and Varadha are no longer speaking to each other and not ruling Khansaar together. I am sad now. I am waiting to slip back into delusion that they are still violently killing in Khansaar together

What if varadha devađ„Č
Letâs imagine
Imagine, Bilal and adhya were still driving and talking about varadevaâs past in that jeep but they get captured by radharamaâs men and deva is asked to fulfill the promise and save them by her father. So, Deva goes back to khansaar and hides at first(he would hide in mahara for sure, shurbhi would be helping him)but soon varadha finds out. Of course he holds âwhatever happenedâ anger against him and sends people to get deva. Deva first fights those men but letâs vara capture him cus he canât harm him at the end. Deva tells him about adhya being captured by Radharama and he needs varadhaâs help to save her(so kind of like the reason they are teaming up is cus they have same enemy and want adhya, deva cus of the promise and varadha cus of stamp on her) So, varadha decides to help deva save her and joins hand with him. As they continue with eachother, past memories flashes and moments when they talk about past and about their young selves cus thatâs the only time when they were happy and together. They laugh and they cry and get drunk in each otherâs scent and mouthđ„
Imagine. Imagineđđđđđđ
Meanwhile Bilal is still telling varadevaâs story to adhya cus kidnapped or not she needs to know it all and pressured Bilal to continue itđ
#salaar#varadeva#varadha rajamannar#devaratha raisaar#varadha#deva#adhya#Bilal#radharama#baba is happy about devaâs return and seeing them work together#varadha thinks deva likes adhya and thatâs why he is here to save her#deva for shit didnot tell him why he came to save herđand varadha didnot ask much to know#therefore the start of confusion and misunderstanding#but of course adhya solves the confusion after being saved by them#and they live happily ever after#and also bring Amma back to khansaarđ«Ąshe is strict#and wait yes it was devaâs plan all along cus he breaths varadha he canât be without him#so that 7years breakup made him make this plan#đ€Ł

the promise.
deva knew exactly what he was doing when he made that promise to Varadha.
Only for you, when you call me, I'll come back.
That promise, even though it was made for Varadha, was Deva's selfish desire to tie Varadha to him â to make sure Varadha wouldn't be able to leave him within the past.
Deva knew that Varadha was the realistic one of the both of them, the kind of person to put his head down, understand a situation, and accept the constraints he had to live within.
Even as a child, Deva understood so well that, if he didn't leave a life line for Varadha to hold onto, Varadha would force himself to accept their separation, and wouldn't strive for more, especially with how self-sacrificing Varadha was.
Deva's mother asked Deva to forget Khansaar â asked him to let go of everything associated with the place â and Deva knew that the situation they were in would require Varadha to forget Deva's existence too, for Deva's sake and his own.
Deva offering Varadha that promise was his only way of saying, 'I won't let you forget me.' and it worked.
The seed Deva planted within Varadha functioned exactly as Deva knew it would, and it definitely tempted Varadha countless times to call for Deva. It kept the idea of Deva being a part of Varadha's future alive in Varadha's mind.
Of course, Deva didn't count on Varadha holding himself back for twenty-five years, but it's why Deva was so confident Varadha would definitely call for him at some point.
#headcanon: he knew what he was doing â he's possessive af#it's a bit dark when you realize Deva was just quietly. knowingly. WAITING for Varadha to come to him#the whole point of deva's character IS that he's impulsive and does whatever HE wants â which just...happens to be varadha#and also maiming sex offenders#character analysis#post exam rewatch (me saying this like i didn't rewatch several times last week)#salaar#varadeva#devaratha raisaar#varadha rajamannar

It was sometime past noon by the time the letter reached the kartha's office.
Kartha Varadha Raja Mannar.
It was first time he got a letter in these 7 years. Especially from the man he used to love. Used to? His mind asked. It wasn't just a letter. It was a note. Only later he found out that it was a suicide note and by the time he did it was too late.
Varadha wondered what was there in the letter. What is it that made deva write to him. He could smell deva's scent on it, after so many years. He looked at the letter for a minute and opend it.
"Dear varadha,
I don't think I'll be alive by the time you read this letter. I decided to put an end to the voices in my head. I know you very well ra, so please don't think there was anything you could do to change this. This is a decision i made and this is what was written in my fate.
I know you hate me for not saving baachi that day. Sorry i couldn't save him, i had to make a choice that day. It was either you or baachi i could save. I chose you and even if I go back in time I'll always choose you.
Two years i waited for you to call me back. I tried to convince myself that maybe somewhere deep down you still loved me. I too was growing old ra, the lonliness started eating me up. Slowly the guilt of not saving baachi crept into my mind. I tried to get busy with work or play with the kids to distract myself but at nights, when I'm alone it's only you i can all think about. Even though we spent very little time together you are deeply imprinted in my soul.
But recently whenever i think about you all i can see is the pain stricken face of yours, eyes red with tears flowing down your cheeks as you held baachi's body and cried. The betrayal and disgust I saw in your eyes thats all i can remember. I tried my best to continue living for you and amma but I don't think i can do it anymore. I'm tired of all this. It's only blood I can see on my hands. I see a monster staring back at me whenever i look in the mirror. This is the best for us ra. For you and for amma.
I always thought the love i had for you was the greatest in my life. But these voices in my head won over the love I have for you. Please take care of amma for me. You are all that she has now. Consider this my last wish.
I love you vara, you know where you'll find me. I hope that maybe in another universe our story doesn't end like this.
Yours lovingly
Nee salaar."
No one in khansaar knows what happened all of a sudden. The kartha, their beloved Varadha Raja Mannar renounced the throne to Bhaarava. No one knows where he has gone or why he gave away the throne. There were rumors that he had left khansaar.
It wasn't just deva that died, the remaining part that was left alive in varadha died too. The part of him that kept him going in life, the part that hoped to maybe one day he can go back into deva's arms died. Now he was just a living corpse. Living for the sake of amma as it was deva's last wish.
