LA COSECHA CONTINÚA PARA MÉXICO EN PARIS 2024

París, Francia.- Histórica resultó la primera mitad de París 2024 para México, pues si bien igualó el número de medallas conseguidas en Tokio 2020, en los escenarios franceses mejoró su color al acumular hasta ahora dos platas y dos bronces –en Japón fueron 4 bronces–.

Eso si, está distante del pronóstico de preseas de la titular de la Conade, Ana Guevara, quien estimó nueve medallas, aunque hace unos días dijo que se “tenían cuatro medallas menos” por deportes que fallaron como clavados y gimnasia artística.

El equipo femenil de tiro con arco –Alejandra Valencia, Ana Paula Vázquez y Ángela Ruiz–, aportó la primera presea, de bronce, y después la judoca Prisca Awiti (63 kilos) sumó una plata.

A ellas se sumó el subcampeonato de los clavadistas Osmar Olvera y Juan Celaya en el trampolin sincronizado y el sábado el boxeador Marco Verde aseguró por lo menos el bronce en la categoría de 71 kilos, el cual aún puede mejorar a plata o a oro.

La medalla en arquería estaba presupuestada, de hecho se esperaba más de una, sobre todo por el desempeño de las mujeres previo a París 2024. Sin embargo aún quedan posibilidades con Matías Grande en la prueba en solitario.

En el judo el pronóstico era muy reservado, pero Prisca tuvo una soberbia actuación en el tatami desde su primer combate.

En los clavados el metal era más que esperado porque Olvera llegó como medallista mundial y rival a vencer. Osmar podría ser doble medallista, pues le falta la prueba individual.

En los saltos ornamentales se quedó cerca en la plataforma varonil con Randal Willars y Kevin Berlín. Ambos compiten en la individual.

El equipo olímpico tricolor encara la segunda semana de los Juegos confiado en sumar más podios, cifrando sus esperanzas en clavados, taekwondo, caminata y pentatlón moderno, y esperando actuaciones destacadas en natación artística y gimnasia rítmica.

Lo bueno

El apoyo del público mexicano en todos los escenarios de competencia apoyando a sus deportistas.

El noveno lugar del surfista Alan Cleland, quien se quedó cerca de pelear por las medallas, y el octavo lugar del lanzador de bala Uziel Muñoz.

Lo malo

La ausencia de la gimnasta Alexa Moreno en la Final del salto de caballo.

La lesión en una mano del caballo del jinete Carlos Hank, que marginó al equipo de salto de la Final en el Castillo de Versalles.

Lo feo

Las descalificaciones del marchista José Luis Doctor en los 20 km y del nadador Miguel de Lara en los 100 m pecho.

Las eliminaciones en Primera Ronda de la mayoría de exponentes de pista y campo del atletismo, como Laura Galván y Diego del Real.

Lo que viene

México aspira a medalla con...

- El abanderado nacional Emiliano Hernández en el pentatlón moderno.

- El maratón de marcha en relevo mixto con Alegna González, quien busca revancha tras caer en los 20 km, haciendo dúo con Ever Palma.

- El equipo de natación artística luego de todo el calvario para clasificar a París 2024 por problemas con la Conade.

The plot revolves around Sabrina (Melissa Joan Hart) having to move from Massachusetts to live with her two eccentric aunts in Rockland County, New York, where she starts attending Riverdale High, becomes besties with Marnie (Michelle Beaudoin) and contends with requisite mean girl, Katy Lemore (Lalainia Lindbjerg). After her 16th birthday, Sabrina learns she’s a witch and grapples with the morality of having powers other mortals don’t. The tone of the production is decidedly pedestrian in a mid-90’s TV manner, but the cast brightens things up with their energy and a decent script. (It was amusing to learn why Salem can talk and other cats can’t). I’ve probably watched a dozen episodes of the subsequent series and the main draw was always Melissa’s winsomeness. She was 19 years-old when this pilot was shot and just got more beautiful over the course of the series. For those interested, Ryan Reynolds has a significant role; he was 18-19 during filming. The movie runs 1 hour, 31 minutes and was shot in British Columbia with some establishing shots done in Brookline, Massachusetts (or so IMDb says). GRADE: B-
