I wonder… What are the Pink Ladies (from Grease) like?
I'm talking about their hairs (👩), their eyes (👀), their bodies and some colors of their skins
By the way Happy New Year! 😘
Happy New Year to you too!
How the Pink Ladies look in the stage musical depends on the production, but for the two filmed versions we can give more concrete descriptions of them.
First the classic 1978 film:
Rizzo is fairly short (5'3'') and slender yet buxom, with an hourglass figure. She has a short, squarish face with round cheeks, peach skin, green eyes, and short, curly, dark brown hair.
Frenchy is the tallest of the girls (5'4 1/2''), and slim, with a "rectangular" figure. She has a long "heart shaped" face, sandy peach skin, and deep brown eyes. Her short hair, which she styles in fluffy curls, is naturally black (as evidenced by her eyebrows), but she dyes it red... or occasionally blonde, or in one accidental case, pink.
Marty is of medium height (5'4'') and slender, with a slight hourglass figure. She has a squarish face, peach skin, brown eyes, and thick, chin-length, light brown hair styled in loose curls.
Jan is also of medium height and has the most pear-shaped figure of the girls, though she loses weight over the course of the film. She has a squarish face, peach skin, blue-gray eyes, and wavy, shoulder length, dark brown hair.
Then there's Grease Live! from 2016:
Rizzo is shorter than in the '78 film (just 5'1'') and more slender, though she still has an hourglass figure. She has golden tan skin and brown eyes, and though she still has short, dark brown hair, it's more wavy than curly.
Frenchy is also short (5'2'') and slender, with a "rectangular" figure. She has a shorter, rounder face than '78 Frenchy, with blue eyes, though still with dusty peach skin. Her hair is naturally dark brown, but again, she dyes it red (or sometimes blonde, or pink) and styles it in a short, loose-curled Marilyn Monroe-style 'do.
Marty is tall (5'6'') and slender, with an hourglass figure, and is given a "race lift" to be African-American in this version. Her skin is a warm light brown, and she has a square face, deep brown eyes, and dark brown hair that, again, she wears in fluffy chin-length curls.
Jan is fairly short (5'3'') and the most heavyset of the girls, with a full hourglass figure. She has a squarish face with soft round cheeks, dusty peach skin, brown eyes, and wavy, shoulder length, dark brown hair that's slightly thinner than '78 Jan's.

Have you seen ADRIEN REED around town? Apparently they look like KETHER DONOHUE. We’re trying to make sure they’re settling in after moving to Saintes! According to their move in paperwork, SHE is a 30 year old FEMALE ELEMENTAL. I hear they’re known for being a PARK RANGER. ADRIEN is also known to be COMPASSIONATE but can also be IRRITABLE at times. Can’t we all? Welcome to Saintes ADRIEN. (Kevin)

I was thinking about this Tweet HIDIVE made two years ago when they were streaming the first season of Tokyo Mew Mew New, and how that basically amounted to nothing since we now have both seasons of the anime for home release (via Sentai Filmworks) and they only have the Japanese audio.
It's a bit peculiar because there was a strong public interest in having a dub of the remake, but HIDIVE never followed through on that, which indicates that something happened along the way, such as a lack of interest from the higher-ups.
That's not to say that dubs of HIDIVE/Sentai shows can't happen after they are initially put out for home release, (ex. To-Love Ru, Insomniacs After School), but if TMMN never gets dubbed, I think there might be a reason why.
So, most people who heard of Tokyo Mew Mew in the west watched it when it was dubbed by 4Kids as Mew Mew Power, so it has a strong nostalgic factor to it. HIDIVE likely wanted to get most of the original 4Kids cast to come back and reprise their roles for the remake.
Something similar happened when Shaman King, another anime dubbed by 4Kids, also got an anime remake, and when it was to be dubbed, Netflix got most of the 4Kids cast to reprise their roles.
However, the main issue is that, unlike Tokyo Mew Mew, most of the actors for Shaman King were still active in the industry. Here's a list of the main voice cast from Mew Mew Power:
Ichigo/Zoey — Amanda Lipitz, has not done voice work since 2005, moved onto directing
Mint/Corrina — Andi Whaley, has not done voice work since 2006
Lettuce/Bridget — Erica Schroeder, continues to do voice work to this day
Pudding/Kiki — Kether Donohue, continues to voice work, but mostly for western productions
Zakuro/Renee — Mollie Weaver, has not done voice work since 2005
Masaya/Mark — Scottie Ray, continues to do voice work to this day
Ryou/Grant — Sean Schemmel, continues to do voice work to this day
Keiichiro/Wesley and Kisshu/Dren — Andrew Rannells, has moved onto Broadway, similarly this is why he did not reprise Len in the Shaman King remake
Tart/Tarb — James Carter Cathcart, retired from the voice acting industry in 2023
Pai/Sardon — Oliver Wyman, continues to do voice work to this day
So, of the main cast, only half of the voice actors would still be available, and of just the Mew team, only 2/5 of them would be reasonably available to come back.
I think what HIDIVE thought was that, if they couldn't get a majority of the 4Kids dub cast back, there would be "no point" in their eyes to doing a dub, because a dub with mostly new actors would not have the same impact in terms of nostalgia. Of course, I absolutely disagree with that notion.

Part two of my Kirby voice headcanons. This video has my voice headcanons for Taranza and Susie. I put two voices for both of them because I thought that each voice was fitting in a different way and I couldn’t decide which one I liked more. Explanations for why I chose these voices are under the cut.
Maurice LaMarche and Jeffrey Combs as Taranza: I feel like each voice conveys a different aspect of Taranza’s personality. Maurice LaMarche is better at conveying the hopeless romantic side of Taranza that yearns for love, while Jeffrey Combs is more suited for conveying the more devious and cunning side of Taranza that we don’t get to see as much in either official material or fanwork.
Lauren Tom and Kether Donohue as Susie: I feel that Lauren Tom fits the sweeter and girlier side of Susie’s personality while Kether Donohue fits her more sinister and egotistical side. Both voices suit her but in different ways.
There’s also a bit of a casting joke here with my casting of their voices since I enjoy casting jokes lmao, I ship Taranza and Susie and Maurice LaMarche and Lauren Tom happen to voice a couple in Futurama (Kif Kroker and Amy Wong, I used clips of them in this video) while Jeffrey Combs and Kether Donohue voice a pair of good friends/an implied couple (AGIMUS and Peanut Hamper, yes that’s the character’s actual name) in Star Trek: Lower Decks.
#Kirby#Kirby headcanons#Kirby voice headcanons#Taranza#Susie Kirby#Susie Haltmann#I couldn’t decide which voices I liked more for them so I chose two for both of them#I really like Jeffrey Combs as an actor/voice actor#he’s played a bunch of guest characters across multiple Star Trek shows and it’s always a delight when he shows up lmao#like whenever you see him in the credits you know it’s going to be a good episode

What are some voice headcanons for your OCs?
-👾💛
Thank you sm for this question!! It's something I thought about and considered a while ago but never came back to, because, well... it's really hard! Haha
Right now I only have voice hcs for Chip and CV. Teddy's such a shame since he's literally a little singing star, but I guess that's a lot of pressure in choice.
For Chip I've considered:
Happy ENA, her speaking mannerisms although not necessarily medieval feel similar to what I have in mind for Chip. It's also usually a nice masc voice with a bit of a certain twang to it that makes it the perfect level of "gender" for them, lmao.
Lynn Ferguson's Mac from Chicken Run. Sometimes I hear Chip's voice with a scottish accent, and I love Mac's pitch for them. When I was young I thought Mac was a boy. She's very soft-spoken as well and mostly calm.
Casey Mongillo's Nene Onemine from Komi Can't Communicate. Casey is nonbinary! And has a very soothing voice, imo, especially in this role. When act out excitement or fury, it can be kind of strained, which feels fitting. Nene also has cute freckles like Chip :3
Overall, Chip's voice is androgynous in every single way in my mind :P It sounds masc, it sounds fem, it sounds Medieval English, Scottish, maybe Puerto Rican, soft, firm... Ugh.
For CV I've considered:
Arleen Sorkin's Harley Quinn. And I know what you're thinking, even at that pitch it's a pretty older-sounding voice for someone like CV. And lmao, you're right, but the accent and squeak are just too perfect for her. She is supposed to be related to Lucky, after all.
Dot Warner, specifically in season 3-5 of the original Animaniacs. Not too pitch-shifted but just enough to make her sound like a child. Dot's sass is perfect for CV, completely full of herself.
Jodie Resther's Francine Frensky Or Melissa Altro's Muffy Crosswire from Arthur. It's the best... the worst? Of both worlds. I LOVE these two, but ik some people can hate them to their very core. Very CV. Francine would be perfect for CV's mannerisms, but Muffy just... sounds more like what I have in mind for her. Squeaky.
Kether Donohue's Kiki/Pudding from Mew Mew Power. I wasn't happy with my indecisiveness with Francine and Muffy, and tbh all three of these voices I thought of just for this Q! Then I ran into this old anime I use to love, haha. Pudding is probably perfect for CV; she's a performer, she has the accent[?], the mannerisms, the squeakiness!!
Overall, CV is a brooklyn/new york accented street urchin with a lot of attitude and squeakiness. Probably a voice that you either love or you hate, as decisive as her personality.
I'll link/post some clips below of each voice. c:

Review: Beef Brisket Murder - Patti Benning (Darling Deli, 11)
Title: Beef Brisket Murder Author: Patti Benning Series: Darling Deli, 11 Release Date: June 2016 Publisher: Summer Prescott Books Rating: 3 stars
Favourite character: Candice Least favourite character: N/A
Mini-Review: This was okay, figured out the murderer pretty early on. Wasn't a fan of Moira's temper tantrum, even if it was stress-related. Too many scenes relating to her being taught technology, felt out of place.
Fan Cast: Moira Darling - Danica McKellar Candice Darling - AnnaSophia Robb David - Sharif Atkins Darrin - Evan Roderick Allison - Tiera Skovbye Meg - Mina Sundwall Dante - Noah Gray-Cabey Detective Jefferson - Chris Zylka Detective Wilson - Kether Donohue Logan - Jaiven Natt
