What was your first impression of Kennedy?
That first week out of…there…
I was so scared. Of everyone. I only wanted to be around Jem—he was the only one I trusted at the time. I don’t think I even spoke my first day on base.
I didn’t have short hair yet—it was still really long and knotted. Using my hands to get them out hurt. I think Kennedy must have seen me trying to brush my hair with my hands. At some point that day she came up to me. She didn’t even say anything to me, she just held up her hair brush and gestured for me to sit next to her.
I already liked her because she made my brother smile. But her doing that for me…she was one of the first mercs I trusted.

❝ The kids won’t stop fighting. ❞ tegan and amada | @leftlipstick
Ama’s a little hungover from New Year’s Eve party she and Tegan attended last night. Her head is pounding to the beat of its own drum and she feels nauseated. She wants to go and rest some more, but Tegan tells her the children won’t stop fighting, which causes her to get out of bed, put on her robe, and head-out to the living room. Whens he gets there, she notices that Drew has a fist-full of Diana’s hair in her hand and Diana is kicking at her pretty hard. Tegan has her hands on her temples as this happens, which kind of makes Ama want to laugh.
Surprisingly, to the disbelief of their friends, Ama is the strict parent. The children are more afraid of her than Tegan. She assumes it’s because she’s the more masculine out of the two, but that’s probably sexist. However, she’s always been softer towards her mother than her father, even when her father was a wonderful dad.
Walking over to the children, she gets in the line of fire and puts her hands on both of their heads. “Drew and Penelope!” is all she says in a rough voice before the children plop down light inflated balloons and look up at her with dread. “What have I told you about fighting?”
They look at her and mumble at the same time. “That we’re not supposed to???”
Ama nods her head. “And what are you doing now?” she asks.
“Fighting?” Penelope replied, making Drew push her so hard that Ama scolds at her.
“Exactly.” Ama gives them a stern look. “And since you two can’t listen, you’re having oatmeal for breakfast instead of pancakes.”
Drew looks appalled and Penelope bursts into tears. Ama knows that they both hate oatmeal. So she thinks that’s a pretty good punishment that it’ll get it through their heads not to fight. While Ama thinks it's a bit funny, she knows it’s really not, so she knows she needs to try and keep the girls in check - for both her and her wife’s benefit.

Conspiracy theories and the media.
A conspiracy is a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.
Conspiracy theories were being generated, spread, and believed well before the internet and social media.
In 1963 , president J.F. Kennedy was assassinated. An official explanation stated that he was killed by a lone gunman but many started to believe the alternative explanation that he was killed by an unidentified group of conspirators.By 1975, 80% of Americans believed in one form of conspiracy theory or another about Kennedy's death.
Tumblr media
In 1947, a framer found debris in the New Mexico desert at Roswell. By 1977, 71% believed government is hiding information about UFO, 45% believed that aliens have visited Earth and only 25% believed in the official government explanation which was a crashed weather balloon.
Tumblr media
What we’re seeing now with COVID-19 is nothing new: conspiracy theories have flourished across human history,
The most popular conspiracy theories about Covid -19 are : the virus was made in a lab as a bioweapon , Bill Gates created the pandemic to depopulation the world and the vaccines contain microchips for tracking people.
Tumblr media
Uncertainty , powerlessness and anxiety are feelings caused by a rising death toll, social isolation and crumbling economy. These feelings would be more widespread due to the pandemic regardless of the time spent on social media.
Political science and psychology research shows that the motivations to believe or disbelieve conspiracy theories are largely unrelated to particular methods of communication.
Certain personality traits and life experiences make people more likely to belive conspiracy theories .
For some people believing a lie is better than facing the reality. Many believe they benefit from the theory . A 2017 research review found that people who buy into conspiracy theories believe they benefit socially and existentially. For example , people may not want to believe climate change is real because they work or invest in the coal industry.
Having information or knowledge that no one else has can naturally make us feel unique.
Different moral compass is another reason . Some people value moral responsibility towards collective concerns. For example, they feel that it is their moral obligation to take measures against climate change to make the world a safer place for future generations.
On the other hand , some people value individual freedoms as a moral imperative.
However there are some conspiracy theories that turned out to be true.
It was not actually a weather balloon that crushed in Rosewell in 1947. As it turned out years later , it was a cover -up. In 1994, the documents about the incident were declassified and released to the public. It was a Mogul balloon which is a part of Mogul Project , a Cold War attempt to spy on Soviet nuclear weapon development.
US Government also admitted their attempt to militarize the weather over North Vietnam in 1967.
I respect everyone ‘s view and I think that no one should be discriminated over their beliefs.
Nothing can stay a secret forever and there is chance that in the centuries to come the information that we are unaware of now will be revealed as it happened before.

tegan and amada = yearn | @leftlipstick
Tegan’s head tilts down, dark brown hair covering her face as she scribbles down notes on her ipad. Ama is curious about what she’s scribbling down and if it’s good for their state and its people. She thinks it is since Tegan’s got good intentions and tends to make good choices - she always has. That’s part of the reason why Ama chose to shadow her and not some other politician. Tegan is strong, beautiful, and she seems to care. Three things she saw in her protagonist. Three things she loves to see in women.
But as she sits and watches Tegan move her hair behind her ear and give her a good view of her biting her lip, Ama can’t help but to yearn for her. She knows mixing business and pleasure is a bad thing. But she just can’t help herself.  Ama doubts that anything will happen between them. The idea doesn’t leave her head as she looks at her though. Oh how she wants her. Oh how stupid she is to think a woman as sophisticated as Tegan would want her. She just can’t see that happening.
