honestly meryl stryfe is a good short woman representation in media
nightow never actually infantilize her in the story, even when she was kidnapped, put in a dangerous situation, even came out traumatized by what happened
as the reader, i can still feel her strength in overcoming these trials and challenges
like yeah she's a small woman but damn she got guts and confidence
which can be very inspiring, i think for any girls or young women reading this manga
(its even funnier because this is coming from a manga made around late 90s to early 00s, and somehow its even more progressive in its depiction of adult women than a lot of current works published recently)
#anyway idk i just think nightow is pretty good at writing female characters?#in a sense that he still let them be feminine but also give just as much personality and character to them#as other male characters#the best example i think is kekkai sensen#especially KK damn i love her#one of my favorite characters in the story#meryl stryfe#trigun

#how did he get to the train in b3p chapter 1 anyway. bro was inches from unconsciousness#blood blockade battlefront#kekkai sensen#steven a starphase#i can't imagine how steven or how zapp managed learning to use their styles too. combustible blood or freezable blood...#what do you do if you burn your major blood vessels from the inside? what do you do if you give yourself internal frostbite??#permanent tissue damage. how do you clean burn wounds with no outside channel???? how did they not ever damage their heart. how#like k.k. too she could give herself a heart attack channeling electricity. or just shock herself and burn out her nerves. oh on that note#its interesting she has the only style shown where she can manipulate her blood without any contact at all#klaus and steven solidify their blood and it remains. zapp and zed need direct contact(though they seem to be able to reabsorb it)#but kk's blood is in bullets. and if she had the speed and precision to directly connect her blood to a bullet she wouldn't need guns at al#damn. i wildly digress. anyway 'black hearted man' bc frostbite necrosis haha
