Oh my god I just got Aven's scheduled text and it just reminded me. While we as players saw and understand Aven's whole thing, Trailblazer and like literally everyone else has NO idea what his whole thing was about. Maybe Acheron (and part of me thinks Ratio knows) but. God. NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT KAKAVASHA

yes!! thats why they introduced the pov thing this time (tho we had smth similar with dan heng but i kinda zoned out after some time on the luofu bc it felt a bit underwhelming and confusing after belobog sorryy aa), bc things were happening outside of our usual pov (trailblazer) so avens whole part is completely unknown to the trailblazers and only acheron (who understood his plan immediately when he addressed her in the fight to draw her sword, i love her sm) and dr ratio (i think they spoke in little, abstract ways bc they were watched, aventurine DID tell him that "three chips [cornerstones] are enough", that he "will create the grandest death" and win back his "freedom and power" [be free from the IPC when everything goes as planned and he "dies"] ) actually know what happened/what he had planned - the rest of the cast (us and the trailblazing fam) have no clue. no one knows about kakavasha indeed, its just with aventurine alone 🥹 takes a bit to fully realize augfh also the others know of the face he puts on but we as the players saw it all, the aventurine behind it

Fun fact! Sometimes Tauverse Nightmare will be in his mansion and just. Pause. And stare. Usually it's at Cross, too.

He's had time to adjust to the other 3. He knows Killer like the back of his hand, Dust usually he can feel distress or pleasure, Horror is his favorite child so ofc he knows what he likes, but Cross? Cross was the stray he took in (almost a metaphorical final test-). He has no prior experience with Crosses, no basis, he has no idea how they should behave or what he likes or anything. So he has to observe him in his habitat.

This does lead to moments when Cross is eating in the kitchen shoveling a taco into his mouth and he turns around to find Night standing ominously in the doorway. Or Dust and Cross playing video games and Nightmare watching from behind the couch, listening to his banter as he gets more confortable, until the 'game-over' screen hits and they notice him in the reflection of the dark screen. Or even times he's training and he fumbles because when did Nightmare get in here???

Ofc this os after the initiation phase where he put Cross through The Horrors and after Killer got his leg obliterated and needed recovery time, so Night is mostly chill at this point towards Cross and very dedicated towards the boys. So, Cross never knows if Night is actually like. Watching him, waiting for him to slip up, to be weak, to strike. In reality it's just that Nightmare is picking up on Cross' habits and interests and forgets that staring unnerves most people. The others knew Cross was adopted the first time they caught sight of Nightmare watching Cross and Horror making food without getting agitated.

Not to continue to be a nerd but something that does concern me about octolings is that the "back end business" is filtered by the same siphon that they use to spit out water. I... Am horrified to say I can only hope they lost this siphon. Or maybe it simply lost all functionality outside swim form.

Oh... oh. Oh. So, bad news, octolings still have the siphon.

It appears as a "creased ear", while the other "ear" is a fin.

I never really knew what this siphon did, but uhm. Yeah. That's certainly a bit uncomfortable.

She would begrudgingly thank them, but wouldn't let them pet her

If a nicer guest asked to do a more normal activity (like give a high five or braid her hair) she could be convinced, but they'd have to have a repeat presence and maintain their respect to get to that point

First of all, his voice actor in advent children???

The new remake one is excellent but just doesn't capture that same level of terrifying cultured menace. The smug evenness and it's DEEP wow yeah. So smooth. High key petrifying I don't know who he is but he did an outstanding job. That bit where he asks cloud to 'give him the pleasure of taking it away?' like the way his voice lilted up in casual question like good GRIEF that was hot.

Anyway I have another hc: sephiroth would have made an EXCELLENT scientist like his parents, he's certainly got the intellect and hunger for knowledge, not to mention his ability to do research for days on end XD. Supernova actually using astrophysics equations is absolutely fantastic and makes me think that's what he'd major in.

By that logic, he'd want to be in rocket town with the rocket, and he'd most definitely want to go to space himself if it was the last thing he did (ha).

Do you think he'd tie his hair back like his mum?

Anyway I imagine if he hadn't been a soldier and instead been free to choose his own path he'd have been right there the whole time being a child genius and getting into fights with cid about who gets to be the pilot (Co pilots. Co pilots is how it's supposed to work with normal planes never mind things that breach the atmosphere).

Like I understand the amount of redemption/fix it fics that have him be a merc with cloud or whatever but I feel we're ignoring the possibilities stemming from the fact this man canonically knows modern astrophysics and that is absolutely not something you can inherit via way of ancient inhuman semi deceased life form.
