She has the vibes of Umai (goddess of fertility and patroness of women/children in Tengrism). Since Sandwalk is already a shaman-healer, I think I'll give her another role. Perhaps the role of a caretaker/leader? OR MAYBE A GENERAL? IN A CRYSTAL CITY SETTING LORE YEAH

Ukrainian Cossacks are an ethno-cultural group within Ukraine and parts of South-Western modern Russia that were, at different points in history, both nomadic and settled. Many Ukrainians trace their legacy to various Cossack groups and they're a big part of the modern Ukrainian identity.

Russian Cossacks are a very different beast. At one point they were an arm of the state that had too much power for the Rulers' liking, so there were revolts, mass executions and a lot of stuff. Many of THOSE historical Cossacks could trace their roots to Ukrainian Cossacks. But they were pretty much wiped out of existence and modern Russian Cossacks are just LARPers who simp for the hardline state.

Kazakhs are a completely different ethnicity in Central Asia, though the name may share a similar etymology. Their only relation to Cossacks are their historical encounters with the Ottomans and they were also colonized by the Russian Empire and USSR.

it's cause i was born and live in an asian country that hasn't been welcoming or accepting of queer people in over 9 centuries and is only getting slowly worse 😭😭 before that (and during that time too) there aren't even any easily attainable records of queerness in Kazakhstan. so i relate a lot to how hard it is for some other countries to push through and their art to be visible and heard

to be fair though, even in countries that consistently make qls it's not that easy for ql creators in the industry either. for now only Taiwan and soon Thailand have same sex marriage (and anti discrimination protection laws is a whole other thing). for example South Korea is pulling bullshit, like Love for Love's Sake almost became a censored adaptation for "queer being an unprofitable genre" reasons, High School Return of a Gangster did become a censored adaptation that erased all queerness from the source and named those same exact reasons, Taevin and Joowan's wedding photoshoot was taken down from a korean mall's billboards because of homophobic authorities. lgbtq rights need to be fought for everywhere. i just see that qls from other countries get enough traffic and want to boost China's too

talking about Kazakhstan, i was just describing in a conversation with sweetheart @vegasandhishedgehog how much i would love a period kazakh bl (it will not happen in my lifetime). two guys, nomads, living in a yurt under mountains for their winter halt location, riding horses and shepherding their sheep at day, warming each other's bodies at night. would fight gods to see this with my eyes

i noticed that your banner is art of a (kazakh or kyrgyz?) falconer with a golden eagle. do you have a interest in falconry or have you ever practiced it?

Yes! I love cultures from various countries around the world, but among them, I have a special appreciation for Mongolian and Central Asian cultures. The traditional falconry culture of the Kazakh people, using majestic Golden Eagles, has left a profound impact on me. I'm truly fascinated by them.

Although I haven't had the opportunity yet, it's my dream to one day visit and experience the nomadic life of Mongolia and learn from the Kazakh falconers.

By the way, the ethnic groups featured in my creations are fictional and are a blend of various real-world cultures, incorporating elements that don't actually exist. So, please keep that in mind.

Beshbarmak is probably the most popular Kazakh dish. The name of the dish can be translated as five fingers, referring to the nomadic tribes who lived in Central Asia and would eat the dish with their hands. Cooked horse, mutton, beef, or a combination of those three types of meat are served along traditionally prepared thin pasta squares. The dish is then combined with a flavorful sauce made with meat broth, onions, salt, and pepper, and the finished meal is typically paired with a bowl of meat broth on the side.
