W/this new interview between Jessica Hardwick & Simu & how he said, "If you're asking right now if I think Shang-Chi & Katy should be romantically involved, I'd say no," it got me thinking. They deleted scenes (i.e., "Just Friends" & "Postcard") that heavily implied a romance. I have 2 questions. 1) Do u think they filmed a kiss when they filmed the hug bc Destin was undecided/it looked awkward? 2nd, WHY is Simu teasing the Shangkaty fans if he doesn't want them to hook up? I am SO confused. :/
Hello anon. Thank you for messaging me :) Hmm, I don't think I have seen that interview yet, I tried to search it on youtube / google, not appearing on my end. So I'll answer this based on your message.
SCATLOTTR main story line/focus is to introduce Shang Chi in the MCU and his daddy issue (lol).
#1, That's why I don't think they film a kiss scene (and I find it quite out of narrative yet.) Don't be sad if they didn't kiss, the way they hold each other after reuniting in the Ta Lo big fight says everything - and it's more romantic for me.
(The way he clutches on her, like he doesn't want Katy out of his sight. It's too intimate for me.)
#2, I think Simu likes the Shangty pairing, but the first film is not yet the perfect time for them to end up together. (And in my own opinion) I think it was a good choice.
Don't get me wrong, in any TV/Film that we saw, it's fun seeing the couple go on to "the chase" stage, right? And that's where Shangty is. I enjoy seeing them dance/flirt around with each other. Remember when they are shamelessly flirting when Katy needs to assist the old lady to bring the dragon arrows on the firing range? Take note of the way Ying Nan look at Shang Chi :)
Aunty Nan knows.
The difference with other TV couple is, as much as they are perfect together, presently they aren’t together / did not end up (I'm talking about my other mcu otp = Sylki, Palmerstrange // still hoping for the best for these pairings though). But with Shangty, you know they are each's other ride or die. Nothing can separate them, they are a package deal, even Wong (and the whole Ta Lo village) knows it.
Plus, the chemistry between Simu and Nora is oozing, no doubt about that!
And based on MCU film trilogies, pairings don't end up on their first film, usually it's on the 2nd film like: Pepperony, Fosterson, PeterMJ.
So, let's all be positive and hope for the best on Shangty's future, which I know we should not be worried about. Happy holidays anon, and I apologize if this is a long post and it took me a whole day to answer your ask, I wanted to gif some moments to include on this post. =)

After the poet Robert Lowell left his second wife, Elizabeth Hardwick, he wove heartbroken letters that Hardwick sent him into a verse collection, “The Dolphin.” Lowell’s friend Elizabeth Bishop wrote to him in horror upon seeing his drafts. “One can use one’s life as material—one does, anyway—but these letters—aren’t you violating a trust?” she asked. “IF you were given permission—IF you hadn’t changed them … etc. But art just isn’t worth that much.”
— Katy Waldman, "Who Owns a Story?"

EXCLUSIVE: After launching his acting career in Dunkirk, Harry Styles looks to have found his follow-up. He is has landed one of the lead roles in the New Line thriller Don’t Worry Darling, the next directing outing for Olivia Wilde. Styles replaces Shia LaBeouf, who had to depart the project due to a scheduling conflict.
Styles would join Florence Pugh and Chris Pine who signed on earlier this year. Wilde has a key supporting role onscreen.
Although little is known about the movie’s plot, Don’t Worry, Darling is set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert. Katie Silberman wrote the screenplay based on a spec script by Shane and Carey Van Dyke.
New Line Cinemas is backing the film and considers it a high priority, having landed rights after a heated bidding war due to the critical acclaim of Wilde’s directorial debut Booksmart.
Catherine Hardwicke is executive producing the film alongside Shane and Carey Van Dyke. Wilde and Silberman will produce along with Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment. Daria Cercek and Celia Khong will oversee the project for New Line.
While Styles’ attachment to anything draws appeal to the project, insiders say Warner Bros execs have always been looking for that next thing after being blown away by his acting chops in Dunkirk. Sources add after impressing Wilde and Pugh during an initial meeting, the feeling was mutual to get Styles to sign on to the project.
He is repped by CAA and Full Stop Management.
As one of the most in-demand filmmakers, Wilde is set to direct an upcoming Marvel project and will direct and executive produce the Searchlight feature Perfect. Her directorial debut Booksmart won the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature and was one of the best reviewed films of 2019.

This interesting metallic gown was first worn by Tamzin Merchant as Katherine Howard in the 2010 season of The Tudors. It was spotted again in Carlos Rey Emperador in 2016 on an actress portraying Anne Boleyn. Most recently in 2017 it was seen again in Reinas (Queens: The Virgin and the Martyr) on the actress portraying Bess of Hardwick.

hi, dev! I hope you don't mind me asking this question, but as a gifmaker with prosopagnosia (face blindness), what draws you toward certain faces when it comes to giffing and roleplay?
i'm autistic, so i'm just innately curious about disability shaping and framing experiences with stuff in ways those without a disability might not consider/conceptualize initially. i also notice you tend to have a lot of muse for giffing katherine mcnamara - she seems to be a favorite of yours.
i hope you had a good weekend. it's.... sunday as im sending this. :D
Okay I passed the hell out so it's now Monday that I'm answering this and just I had a good weekend anon and I hope you did too!! And that this week is kind to you!
I don't mind questions at all! As an autistic person also I get the curiosity and always wonder about others experiences too with things!
Honestly what draws me to faces I tend to gif a lot of on personal time is I gravitate to people with kind looking faces if that makes sense? I've seen it described as soft features too so it's hard to describe. But I really seem to attach to faces that look kind? I also have a thing for redheads, which has become sort of a meme, love it though. I always feel bad when someone asks me how do i choose my favourites to gif when it's completely based on how I view kindness in their face, idk if there's a better way to describe it but hopefully listing some of my faves to gif and also to play/use might help which are:
Katherine McNamara, Dominic Sherwood, Omari Hardwick, Daniel Ezra, Hande Ercel, Zahn McClarnon, Isaiah Mustafa, Ana Brenda Contreras, Willa Fitzgerald, Amala Paul, Lucy Hale, Theo James, Liam Hemsworth, Marina Ruy Barbosa, Emilia Jones, Connor Jessup, Shraddha Kapoor, Carl Clemons Hopkins, Aimee Carrero, Cody Fern, Kennedy Walsh, Cemre Baysel, Sophie Skelton, Katie LeClerc, Alicia Witt, Karrie Martin, Lewis Tan, Melisa Asli Pamuk, Ayca Aysin Turan, Aslihan Malbora, Harry Shum jr, Laura Marano, Jack Lowden, Jesse James Keitel, Jordan Calloway, Bridget Regan, Jenna Coleman, Scout Taylor Compton, David Ramsay, Shantel VanSanten, Jamie Campbell Bower, Merritt Patterson, Miray Daner, Taylor Cole, Briana Evigan, Laverne Cox, Ella Hunt, Peyton Alex Smith, Candice Patton, Jesus Castro, Shoshannah Stern, Daniel Wu, Iko Uwais, Burcu Özberk, George Robinson, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Ella Purnell, Jessica Stroup, Alexander Ludwig, Melisa Dongel, Macarena Achaga, Ashley Callingbull, Nicole Maines, Jessica Matten, Katherine Langford, Josephine Langford, Chanté Adams, Kiana Madeira, Laysla De Oliveira, Serkan Çayoğlu, Laura Harrier, Nicola Correia-Damude, Luca Hollestelle, Paris Jackson, Sophia Bush, Vanessa Morgan, Chella Man, Xuan Lu, Zion Moreno, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Coco Jones, Riley Voelkel, Aisha Dee, Bae Suzy, Kayla Compton, Christine Adams, Cress Williams
Katherine has been my favourite actress for years, and she also ended up playing my favourite character ever (Clary) so my attachment to her is extremely high and just keeps growing. Which I could write an essay on how people thought my attachment to her was adorable until it came out I was autistic and suddenly certain people found it creepy and disturbing and made me untrustworthy so there's that (:
You are right though I have infinite muse for her both to use in rp and to gif. I could gif her every second of every day and never get bored.
I hope this answered your question though sorry if I misunderstood!! <3

Directed by David Butler
Produced by Buddy G. DeSylva for 20th Century-Fox
Written by David Butler, Buddy G. DeSylva, and Sid Silvers
Choreography by Harold Hecht
Synopsis ~ Spencer Tracy stars as fast-buck promoter Smoothie King. Our hero's latest scam is to pass off Hollywood extra Wanda Gale (Pat Patterson) and forger Limey Brook (Herbert Mundin) as British nobility, getting both of them prestigious jobs at a movie studio. Eventually Wanda becomes a big star, falling out of love with Smoothie along the way in favor of her leading man Hal Reed (John Boles). But Smoothie takes it all in stride; after all, there's still a world full of chumps and suckers, ripe for fleecing.

Lucille Ball was paid $75 dollars a week when she was loaned out to Fox by RKO to make this film. She appears in the song “Waitin’ at the Gate for Katy.”
The film received a favorable review from The New York Times critic Mordaunt Hall, who called it "a neat, carefree piece of work, which is helped greatly by Spencer Tracy, Pat Paterson, an English actress who here makes her American picture bow; Herbert Mundin, Harry Green, and, to a lesser extent, by John Boles" and noted that it "has its full share of honest humor and also several tuneful songs." Nonetheless, it was a box office disappointment for Fox.
