WWDITS INSP - A Day in the Life of a Familiar

Guillermo: The job of a vampire's familiar is not an easy one. It's very dangerous--I mean, they are vampires, after all. There's different kinds of jobs that I have to do. Keep the house tidy…. Make sure there's no sunlight. "Sunlight, why Guillermo, whyyyyyy!?" Not on my watch. Getting rid of carcasses, I feel, is a big one. Being a vampire's familiar is like being a best friend…. Who's also a slave. I like being a familiar! It's a very satisfying job. Well--actually, calling it a "job" would imply that it pays. So it's more of a vocation. Less glamorous than I imagined. I thought by now I'd be like Armand, but sometimes I feel like I'm halfway turning into a Renfield. I think the worst part for me is the loneliness. I'm awake when my master's asleep, and…the house gets quiet, and it's lonely. But I'm also awake when he's awake. I'm always awake! You know, sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I was still at Panera Bread. I'd probably be manager. I'd get to boss other people around for a change. Sleeping, health insurance, friends, getting paid, all the Panera Bread you can eat. But you know what they say: The heart wants what the heart wants!

I'd rather be a werewolf!

I thought Guillermo was a freaking FOOL, slaving away for 13 years (with NO PAY 💀) hoping Nandor would someday turn him into a vampire. Like...HUH?! Memo, you're wasting your life! You know allllll these dope werewolves who would readily take you in--you're barking up the wrong tree obsessing over vamps all day, my guy!

Memo is an expert on vampires, yet he somehow missed the memo that vampires almost never turn their familiars! 🤨 I'd've given them the middle finger and joined a wolf pack, eff those vampires. 😅

Ok, SURE, vampires are freaking cool--they're the coolest monsters by far. But being a vampire literally SUCKS! Dhampirs like Blade & Alucard have the best of both worlds, since they have all of a vampires' strengths, and none of their weaknesses--they still have all the fancy powers, but can also walk in sunlight, drink blood, and most importantly: eat regular food, bless!

Like, I remember watching Tokyo Ghoul, and bursting into tears when Kaneki-kun was desperately forcing himself to eat food, but his body kept rejecting it--that hurt me to my core. No junk food?! Just kill me.

And if y'all know what went down with Guillermo in Season 5, it's even crazier, like omg, REALLY? U_U Could never be me.

kanae brainrot apparently

“oh that kanae gender poll is neat haha anyways” the next day comes “oh okay.”

my opinion on kanae is “interesting without the burden of hindsight.” if tg had positive trans rep in mutsuki or big madam kanae would be a very good character with a very compelling arc. unfortunately, tg slaps every trans or ngc character with the “GASP. lying about their gender?!” tag at least once. at least mutsuki kinda gets away with it.

anyways. let’s do some vacuum analysis. under the cut.

kanae’s purpose in the story is heavily related to her perception of his personal gender versus what gender she thinks will better serve her family legacy. As the very last remaining rosewald, she wants to be a man because for one reason or another, she perceives women to be weak. her mother succumbed to illness early on when they fled germany, for example, while her brothers fought unflinchingly to help her escape. She was very young, so these facts made an impression upon her.

of course, no one calls her out on this because no one around her understands. They don’t know what it’s like being alone. They don’t know what it’s like losing everything and wanting nothing more than to get revenge against the ones who think they’re better and stronger. They don’t know. They don’t know her. She wishes they knew her. She wishes they loved her.

Until one day:

eto hates two particular things: herself, and people who lie. this is a core character trait of hers and explains the targets of her torture. people who remind her of herself and think of themselves as superior to someone/something else. why?

because she’s been in those very situations, and it worked out for the worst.

eto targets kanae because kanae hates humans on a broad scale (see: how she treats chie), but this is born of fear as only the ccg are the cause of her suffering and the only ones who really care about her dying, and despite having been thrown about by “humans” (again, ccg) and seeing the value non-ccg humans bring to the table (again, chie (bless chie’s heart btw), who is also hunted by the ccg), kanae still despises them and sees them as beneath her.

eto was the same way at one point. she was targeted by V, who took Noroi, her only family at that time, away from her. In her quest for vengeance, she mutilated Kasuka Mado, who, for all intents and purposes, is not a part of V, but an unwitting weapon swung around by them. she presumably does similar things to other investigators out of rage and pain because there’s nothing left for her and she has no support system to reign her in. this is until she meets arima who decides to help her (and even then…).

and eto, more or less, broke free of the mindset kanae is currently in. only thing is: eto also hates herself. she hates how many people have died on her quest for change, how many people will continue to die even when she “wins”. she hates herself as the instigator, but it’s all she knows and all she will continue to do, and she wishes she could just mutilate herself and die and answer for everything she’s done. but that would be a purposeless death. so she turns to a different pastime and breaks out the sewing kit. surely she can “fix” this pitiful caricature of herself while getting the twisted satisfaction of “hurting” herself.

(spoilers: it doesn’t work.)

and you know what they say: as eto, so kaneki.

neither wants to hurt kanae, not really, but rather they want to hurt the image of themselves that kanae exudes. is it better? no, but it’s an important distinction when factoring in characters.

… this was supposed to be about kanae. please accept my apologies. let’s get back on track.

it’s tragic, isn’t it? the people who have real, genuine, human experiences (eto can eat human food, kaneki was human) are the ones who inflict arguably the most pain on kanae. she continues to be at the mercy of the humans she hates so much. their twisted perceptions of love have infected her and she dies.

and yet she thinks she dies happy.

Could I request some suggestive HCs for Kaneki Ken with a Ghoul S/O who is really possessive and likes marking him up, wether that be that by literal bite wounds,(The ghoul equivalent of a hickey between lovers) or bruises decorating his skin. S/O is even naturally strong enough that they won’t automatically heal, and will at least last a day or two (It won’t last longer then that though, Kaneki is a rather powerful ghoul after all, and S/O isn’t trying to actually maim him) Personality wise S/O is rather playful and affectionate, and though they do eat humans, they stick to eating criminals

You smile, departing your teeth from his flesh. Pushing aside the loose strands sticking to his moist skin as you scrap your tongue across his fresh wound. A moan of what seemed to be pure bliss slipped from him as his cheeks blossomed into a rosy color. The many wounds littering his neck, imprinting him as yours.

It was a sight for the keeping, that you could not deny. Watching him wither away beneath you, descending from the unthinkable high you allowed him to succeed. One hand clasped over his neck, the other his mouth in an attempt to shield himself, to spare him the embarrassment once more.

Carefully lifting his slim finger to your lips, you bite. Half-lidded eyes gazing into his well agape ones. Allowing the nearly sweet, metallic taste of his blood to flood your mouth, gradually creeping past your lips with each passing moment. Watching his squirm like a helpless puppy; fighting his urges as he always did.

Lowering yourself to his ear you give a soft puff of air, smirking at the shiver admitting through his body. You place your lips to the shell of his ear as the warmth of his skin blesses your much colder one. “Mine~!” You grinned, before plummeting in the dullness of the night once more.

A/N: I am a bit rusty with Tokyo Ghoul, this is one of my first animes I watched [in sub and dub] I probably am going to re watch it some time, currently binging another anime! Hope you enjoy though!

Y/N would roam around the empty streets, he was used to the empty alleyways by now, usually seeing a few lonely souls drunk out of their minds. He'd typically leave them be, but this night he was irritated. Touka kept wanting some help with the new rookie, she knew he had the ability to somewhat help Kaneki with being half-ghoul. But he didn't feel like being a teacher to some kid who was blessed with being so unlucky.

Y/N would find himself paused in front of Utas mask shop, with a blood stench trailing on his coat. He'd scoff taking it off and folding it up gently. When he entered he saw Touka and Kaneki roaming around, Touka would pause waving over at Y/N. True she wasn't one to show being soft, but her and Y/N where old friends for a while, he knew how she functioned by now. "I thought you where with Yoshimura helping with the coffee shop?" Touka had a puzzled expression on her face. He figured she'd ask, sighing he'd comment sluggishly, "Yoshimura decided to close up early, I decided to come pay Uta a visit, but he seems busy."

Y/N expressed his irritation, if anything he was amused seeing Kaneki look nervous in his 'dark presence' was how he put it. "Well, Uta just finished getting the proportions, we where about to leave, right Touka?" Kaneki would hastily comment, walking to the door, clearly wanting to leave. Touka would sigh, giving a glare at Y/N, before exiting with Kaneki. Y/N would sit down in Uta's chair, scanning over recently added masks. "Well, I'm not entirely surprised seeing that you scared the poor kid away, Y/N you do realize he's been through a lot recently right?" Uta would lean against Y/N's back, his arms wrapping around his neck, turning his head to look gently in his eyes.

"I'm aware Uta, but that kid just pisses me off, what's so important about getting a ghouls organs transplanted into yours?" Y/N would comment in an annoyed tone. Uta would simply smirk, pressing a gentle peck on his right cheek. Slowly removing himself around Y/N. Y/N would roll his eyes, a small smirk forming on his lips. He would turn his head to see Uta reading a clip board. "Well Mr. Angry, how about you come help me make a new mask for the kid?" Uta would notice how your face slowly formed into disgust. "Don't make me tell Yoshimura and Touka how you really hate his guts." Uta would jokingly comment, teasing you.

"Fine fine, but don't trust me being able to touch the mask, I may rip it." He'd tease back, but wasn't exactly joking. Uta would raise an eyebrow. "Well then Touka will give you a long conversation, while trying to make an excuse for Kaneki till I make a new one with your flesh." Uta's threats where mostly honest, which is what made Y/N so attracted to him, he always knew how to make him nervous and attracted to the man.

10 years ago the first chapter was released and I can’t describe how many feelings this series brought me. It has ended in 2018 but I still deeply care for it.

To celebrate the series I decided to feature 10 stages of Kaneki within the series with new photos - 10 outfits, 10 backdrops, 10 different ideas, new outfits, new props. I poured a lot of love into this and this will not be the last post as I really want to celebrate the series I took more than 10 photos, some outfits just really inspired me and blessed me with ideas. we all know jaemin enjoys photography

and you’d be a fool to believe his camera roll is not ABSOLUTELY FULL of pictures of you both candid and not

he always insisted he takes photos of things he loves or are beautiful and you’re both and even more ✿♥‿♥✿

that’s how some of your hangouts turn into mini photoshoots whenever jaemin was in the mood

and that’s how you found yourself modeling for jaemin while the other dreamies were lunging around

Zhong Chenle

power napping is your favorite kind of date with chenle

just curling up against each other wherever you two could fit and spooning or just cuddling or even just holding hands if the weather was too hot

okay but just imagine chenle holding someone’s hand while he sleeps i’m ded just imagining it x.x

so it’s already understood that you’re a sleep lover who isn’t tho

and while you fell asleep, chenle still had to wash the dishes after a meal with the dreamies

jaemin being the affectionate person he is cooed over your cuteness and couldn’t help himself from throwing himself beside you on the bed and jumping on it while screaming your name (basically the same thing he did to chenle :)))) )

but unfortunately you were a quite light sleeper and easily startled when woken up suddenly and not so gently  ( ͠° ͟ʖ °͠ )

so you let out a chocked noise that immediately alerted chenle who returned to see you staring at jaemin like a deer caught in headlights 

“ah hyung why would you do that? you scared them like that”

chenle whined as he pushed jaemin away who retreated with slumped shoulders and a pout don’t worry jaems we love you

and chenle just slips under the blanket and brings you closer to lay down together and soothes you ༶ඬ༝ඬ༶

and he just embraces you, tangling your legs together and hiding your face in the crook of his neck while he runs his fingers through your hair comfortingly chenle would make the best cuddle buddy no take-backs

“shh it’s alright, just go back to sleep, i’ll stay with you” (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

I’m in love with hidekane headcanons! Please please please more of hidekane please? Like... a fix it headcanon after root a where hidekane got together instead. Alsooooooo is it just me but I totally see hide begging to train with ghouls

I don’t know who you are but I love you. So this is pretty similar to an AU I’m working on! The Ghouls Are Alright, where Hide saved kaneki from Jason before he went apeshit and has been working with anteiku to protect his boyfriend. And my guy I have IDEAS

So no one at Anteiku can deny that this boy is one of them in all but blood, obviously they’re wary of him at first, being a part time  bureau investigator and all, but he brought their boy back and is in love with them so they take him in.

Hide volunteers to help with some files at work, if one or two pages of information on the eye patch or the devil ape happen to go missing, no one will think to blame to intern.

Kaneki goes back to school and basically resumes his life the way it was, only now Hide, and occasionally Nishio, walk with him between classes for a couple months just in case since they’re still shaken up about him being kidnapped before

They’ll stay late at the cafe when it’s Ken’s day to close and have coffee (and leftover pasteries for Hide)

Amon has the classic conspiracy theory Red Yarn Connecting Pictures And Notes board dedicated to figuring out the eyepatch. Hide talks with him about it to purposely give him bad leads away from his boyfriend

Ghouls will instinctively scent their loved ones, it’s not weird to them to just rub the side of their head against someone to let them and other know that they’re with you. They’ll do it with humans too as a way of saying “fuck of this is mine” to other ghouls, so of course Ken does it too. He does it often enough in fact that Hide smells like a weak ghoul rather than human at this point and is often mistaken as one of them

Hide wants to know ghoul culture better, so he hangs out a lot with the Ape Faces and Black Dobers. He’s used to being mistaken for a ghoul due to the scenting and is painfully nice, so when someone offered him a little chunk of human flesh once he was 100% about to eat so as not to be rude until Ken slapped it out of his hand. It’s now a running joke that he’d cannibalize to be nice

Part of getting close with ghouls is learning how to fight with them. Hide is surprising good at adopting the fighting style as best he can without kagune, mostly by being able to dodge hits from them and yanking them down by their rinkaku or Bikaku when they strike. He’s not that great at avoiding Ukaku though, and Touka is not allowed to train with him after accidentally stabbing him in the thigh with an Ukaku shard

Kaneki still has nightmares about his time with Jason and when things are getting bad he stays over with Hide. Even if they don’t do anything, it’s easier to sleep next to him, and he thinks it’s cute waking up with Ken’s rinkaku curled around him

When Hide is called in to do field work, he’ll sometimes be tailed by one of the people from Anteiku in case it gets dangerous. When he has to fight ghouls he goes full storm trooper and shoots as poorly as possible to avoid hitting them while not raising suspicion

Kaneki becomes known in the 20th ward and surrounding areas as the Weirdly Helpful Humanfucker since he apparently has his human working on the inside. Hide has caused quite a bit of trouble for the CCG by taking pictures of attack plans and assignment documents to share with ghouls in the area so they can avoid getting killed

Yoshimura tried to advise Kaneki against fully trusting Hide since he’s a human at first, but upon seeing the way Hide worked to protect ghouls and the way Ken was happy around him, he gave Kaneki his blessing as the closest thing he has to a parental figure

Yandere! Kaneki x Reader - In Your Arms

A request from my Ao3: hi!! i just want to say that i love “The Nanny”!! i was so tense reading the whole fic hahahah. if requests are still open, may i request a yandere! kaneki? maybe where kaneki has had a crush on reader since before his ghoul days and now that he’s a ghoul, he decided to keep her and take care of her? thanks before!!

It was hypnotic to watch him brew each cup perfectly, but you came to know that this was how Kaneki let himself think. Like the coffee, he brewed on your words until he was ready to discuss them. You hated it. How he could be so calm about all of this?

So, when he motioned for you to sit with him on the couch, you begrudgingly complied. “I’ve thought about what you’ve said.” You took a sip from the cup he’d made you. The coffee was just how you liked it and it made it difficult to be mad at someone you held dear to your heart. The fact that Kaneki did something so simple yet so heartfelt after all the nasty things you’d said to him.

Why couldn’t he just shout at you like you did to him?

Still, you waited with bated breath. Your eyes stung with tears. Despite the time he took to think, to breathe, you knew what his answer would be. “Y/N,” He tucked some of your hair behind your ear and that was all it took for your tough façade to crack. The tears flowed freely now. “This is just temporary. I promise.”

“I want to go home, Kaneki. I want to go back to school, I want to work, I want to talk with Hide, I just…” A sob bubbled up your throat and made you feel so hopeless and you only crumbled further when he pulled you closer. You never thought you’d miss something as mundane as work until you began to go stir crazy in his home. He felt so safe. You were bundled up in the arms one of your best friends, and when his chin rested atop your head, you only clutched at him tighter.

Hide was a blessing. He’d opened the door to the love of his life, but it always felt like you were something that was out of his reach. An unrecognized saint among the masses. So, he searched elsewhere to not break the friendship the three of you shared. That choice ruined his life, but it opened his eyes.

There were dangers at every turn and there was no one to trust. There was only you and Hide. With Hide in the CCG, there was still one thing he could protect. You. How you hadn’t been snatched up and laid out on someone’s dinner table was beyond Kaneki. You smell amazing. He could get a whiff just passed your body wash and perfume, and it made his mouth water.

“I’ll tell you what.” You perked up at this. There was finally some sort of middle ground that you’d do anything for. “We’ll go out for dinner tonight and enjoy some fresh air.” He wiped at your tears as he spoke. Kaneki sat back and enjoyed how you bounced up from the couch and scrambled to his room. Your coffee was all but forgotten on the table.

You dug through the suitcase that Kaneki had you pack in the middle of the night all those weeks ago. The thought of a few hours of freedom blinded you to the gleam in his eyes behind his soft smile. He knew just where to walk with someone as tantalizing as you. The rough patches where ghouls were tearing at each other for a good meal. And when you were faced with the monsters in this world, you’d run back to him.

He’ll take care of you, just like you took care of him. No matter what ghoul he had to eat to keep his promise.
