This elegant kameez in a delicate light lavender hue is meticulously crafted from pure georgette. It boasts a gathered style with a graceful front slit, complemented by a V-neck in the front and a closed neck at the back. The 3/4th sleeves add to its poised look. The intricate resham and stone work on the kameez elevates its charm. Paired with it is a matching light lavender chiffon dupatta, adorned with subtle stone work. She is wearing a ghagra suit with Gota work on her kameez and Phulkari work on her veil. Her hair is in an ulta choti (reverse braid) and have paranda at the ends. She is wearing peepal patti jewellery on her head, ears and neck.

Kameez : Upper garment, usually mid-thigh to knee-length
Gota work : Applique style embroidery that usually uses gold and silver coloured lace, beads, and fabric.

Paranda : Hair ornament tied at the end of a braid.
Peepal patti jewellery : Punjabi jewellery with bits made to look like heart shaped leaves (patti) of the Peepal tree

The abaya is a modest, flowing garment worn by women.

Muslim female attire encompasses a variety of garments that reflect cultural, religious, and personal preferences. Here are some key styles:
1. Hijab
A headscarf worn to cover the hair and neck, often styled in various ways. It can be made from different fabrics and is worn for modesty.
2. Abaya
A loose-fitting, long robe often worn over regular clothing. It comes in various styles and colors, from simple to embellished designs.
3. Jilbab
Similar to an abaya, the jilbab is a long outer garment that covers the body, typically more fitted than an abaya.
4. Salwar Kameez
A traditional outfit consisting of a long tunic (kameez) paired with loose-fitting trousers (salwar). This style is popular in South Asia.
5. Kaftan

One Dress a Day Challenge
April: Yellow Redux
Happy New Year / Deepika Padukone as Mohini
I love the lace sleeves on this outfit--pretty sure it's a salwar kameez, unless there's a more specific name for an outfit designed just for dancing? I'm guessing the dangling silver ornament on the bodice is a string of bells, so it is functional in addition to looking nice. As can be seen from the photos, Mohini changes the draping of her dupatta (scarf) a few times during the scene, wearing it either low or high on the neck and then looping it around her torso for dancing.

ON: Starting Armor Design Notes
( This is, quite literally, just the notes I made on Laika's armor design, and idk, I thought it might be interesting if anyone wants to see the inner machinations of my mind. I've included the "first pass" of ideas and my later notes! )
OVERALL: Colors: Navy Blue, Teal Green, Red, and Black. Silver for metals. Sleek, with a striking accent of red. Scaled Leather Somewhere. Desi & Romanesque science fantasy. Thigh high, heeled boots - both because I like them and the high fashion element that runs through Tevinter designs. Black leather garter, again because I like them.
REQUIREMENTS: - Some twist on the Little Red Riding Hood theme. - Some form of drapery - Removable elements that could hide her fact upon first meeting.
PRE-DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
Romanesque: maybe Toga praetexta? Being adopted Laika in higher standing than most elves in 'Vint, but still not enough to wear something like a Stola or Trabea, Praetexta was also very much used by children, a pre-coming of age thing - could tie to the fact that Laika is a severed Dalish, and thus never received Vallaslin, and would be a child to the eyes of her clan. But otherwise, she IS an adult, and that could communicate too much childishness, especially when combined with the twin braids. Gladiator/Praetorate guard-ish shoulder pads, maybe arm bracers? A Lunulae would be cute, but perhaps too tied to childhood. Hard to think of a way to include LR.
Desi-esque: A salwar kameez with a simple sari over top. Either a shortened Nivi-style Sari or a Tamil style, to prevent any dragging. As much as I like the idea of drapery that is loose and could show motion, it doesn’t fit her chemist vibes. Either way, this would lean more into the Southern Indian design motifs we see in the architecture and some of Dorian’s clothing. Only issue I can see would be Red=Marriage, and would that, combined with the garter, create a marital theme? The salwar would have to be blue or black to compensate, and really draw the focus away. A red sari could be the LR element.
Pulling from both is probably my best bet. I think the Salwar+Sari set, with Romanesque armor ( And maybe corsetry? There is a little bit of Victorian England in Tevinter, especially the portrayal of Minrathous ) and then adding details on top of that. Definitely some kind of criss crossing belt situation, it’s so like. Fantasy Requirement. I think a lower face mask and goggles combo would sell the “self taught chemist” vibes well. Lean more Sari than Toga, since I already have a character with a Romanesque design.
( below are the actual notes i sat down and made right before i actually started drawing )
SALWAR: High neck, with either buttons or some kind of zipper (do they have zippers? they have fucking tank tops, they can have zippers) Not so high neck that it fully covers her neck scars though. Navy blue with teal piping, making it very Clean and Cool toned.
SARI: Red. Could have a hanging loose end? TBD. Lining would be fun, but might lessen the striking effect.
ARMOR: Roman armor is three rectangular "tongues" that go over the shoulder, and a fourth underneath that goes to the middle of the forearm. Corset can just be very standard shapes. Scaled black leather - scales very cool, very snake.
GLOVES: Navy blue leather with red trimming ( in part to visually break it up from the sleeves of her salwar. ) Triangular / diamond shapes as accent. Red palms to remind her of people lost in the fight to fix Tevinter. "Ne'er will these hands be clean" energy.
BOOTS: Not sure if they should be black and silver ( to match the garter ) or navy and red ( to match the rest of the suit. ) TBD in color study. Triangle shapes at the top of the boots' tongues
ETC: - Needs to have the Keys from the Rogue Aspirational armor - many potion bottles ( diamond shaped...? ) - maybe even a book on her belt? nerd. - Put a lil snake on her garter :-) it’d be cute. - Hair in double braids ( since that’s her “field” hairstyle ) - mismatching hair ties ( teal on the upper left and bottom right, red on the upper right and bottom left ) - The goggles should be normally resting on the crown of her head. Goggles could be tied with a bow tied in the back? That’d be cute - maybe each side is a different ribbon color? - Cutesy elements but in ways that aren’t the key focus of the design.

Guidelines to Select the Right Jewellery
The core key to any beautiful gorgeous looks is all in the hands of perfect and right jewellery. We often ruin our looks with the wrong jewellery selection or might even bright up a fall colour dress if we spot to wear the right jewellery. Most designers go these days by jewellery to judge you and mark you with what are you click here wearing and think it to be the nucleus part of any girl to look good or when dressing up, a part she should focus on as equally as one does to select her dress.
Speaking to any designer you would realise that even they think that the most important and difficult part of dressing any woman up for any occasion is choosing the correct jewellery. Dresses are always easy to fix, depending on your age, figure, occasion, custom etc, they might get you a dress designed. But the challenge comes in picking up the right jewellery. Like if you are on for an event with a emerald gown, an emerald set is what first strikes you to go with the dress, but if you have a whitish complexion or if you are too lean then an emerald set I totally a bad idea. Hence, while your dress stayed decided, you lack on the exact jewellery.
Hence choosing the right jewellery is always an art, more tricky than picking up the right dress or a handbag or maybe your shoes. To keep it classy and win win situation ever, the easiest way to face such situation is always wear something light, heavy jewellery are always a risk to carry, even your hairstyle matters when you are carrying heavy jewellery. So keep it light, like a simple pendant or may be small studs on your ears, they will always go well with your dress.
Don’t try to be a matching queen as it’s never a good idea. Pick always something in crystal or say American diamonds, even silver coat jewellery are better options. Why? Such jewellery are safe to wear, goes well with everything and looks anyday better compared to matching jewellery. Again to repeat, wear light crystal jewellery sets for example, which goes well even with a red dress, or an emerald saree, or with a pair of denim, and with a salwar kameez for a wedding that you need to attend.
Third is always trying and search for Google trends online before just wearing anything. Like if you have big dangles and you are too sure about wearing them, then just search online for pictures where you can see girls wearing dangles to know who to do your hair with it, what kind of clothes will do with it, etc. Always always try and show your jewellery first to several people before actually wearing something on the final day.
You can always buy artificial jewellery online, or even for precious jewellery, online e stores are a good option because they let you shop with a huge variety of options and each of their pair is laid on dummy to give you a brief about how would it look on you. Besides, they also give you great discounts so you get everything at a decent price.
Other quick tips for right jewellery wear is try keeping your hair tied up in a bun with heavy jewellery and doing the opposite with light jewellery, always wearing contrast jewellery if fair in complexion or vice versa, try wearing simple designs as they go well with anything, if wearing heavy jewellery, always remember to wear something of a lighter shade dress with deep necks to make your jewellery feel out. If failing to decide, chuck on jewellery, like you can just wear the earrings or say the bangles or just the neckpiece.
When you think to buy necklace online, try and get it from a website where they have a return policy, so that you can return if not liked. And most importantly, always try and show it to people to know what exactly looks good on you. It’s always about the face make you have, some look good in dangles; others do not because it just doesn’t work well for their face.

By following these simple steps, you can enjoy the beauty and warmth of your Pashmina pieces for many winters to come.
