A Snowy Hike - Art Trade

I've had this finished since last Wednesday, but I just didn't get around to posting it I experimented with a more painterly style, incorporating some skills I learned from the painting class I took last semester. I have a BUNCH of art from college that I haven't posted, I'll probably get around to posting them soon. Stay tuned for that! I will also be posting my Secret Santa drawing today!

With how aggressive he is to Orange, he's probably going to be much more aggressive to Cyan, and Cube has said they don't want any harm to come to him.

“Welcome back, everyone, to the Clash of the Cubes! I’ve been having a blast with this challenge, although I don’t think our competitors have, heheh!”

“why did you do that”

“To add incentive, of course! Now, let’s get to the voting of this penultimate challenge!”

“while you do that ima just go before—”

Pulse grabs Step by the collar before he leaves, whispering through gritted teeth.

“Hey, not yet! Y’know, the finale? I cannot do it without you.”

“O-Oh snap, yeah, ok fine. Just never pull that stunt again!”

“No promises.”

“why”

“Ahem…. Anyways, let’s get on with the show!”

“Now, please vote on your favorite entries in both the normal vote and favorite vote polls!”

“As for other entries that haven’t been submitted yet, I’ll give them time to give a late submission, but I won’t give half their vote points. If they still don’t submit by the time voting is done, they won’t be getting any of my extra credit points.”

“I mean, dropping the person closest to them into a fake spike pi- ahem- REAL spike pit doesn’t feel like a big enough punishment. So I’ll take their extra credit points away too.”

“Speaking of…”

Pulse turns to the Cubes’ closest people, and snaps his fingers to get their attention.

“Hey you, you guys get in there.”

He points towards a black door with white outlines and faces back.

I really, really wanted to do a real time animatic for this with a timer in the corner counting down from 60 seconds, but college classes have been kicking my butt and I need to have both of my art finals and a final essay for another class finished by this Wednesday (the 11th)

So here are the events typed out!

On a screen, Cyan is seen in a cage with Step. 

“I have invited some… familiar faces to join us for this challenge, heheheh!”

Cass, looking at the screen with a worried expression: "Wh… CYAN!!!!"

Cass is still looking at the screen as Pulse continues: “Now before we start, I gotta mention. Extra points are earned by getting them out as fast as possible. The timer for the points stops as soon as you and Step touch, so you gotta be fast~~”

“Anyways, on your marks, get set, go!”

Cass runs up to the gate and looks down at a small screen panel next to it. The screen displays the question: What is the powerhouse of the cell?

Cass, starting to freak out: “I… I don’t know! I don’t even know what that means!”

Cass starts panicking and banging on the door, then stops for a moment and gets a determined look in her eyes. She aims her gun at the panel and shoots. She then reaches through the broken screen and pulls out a handful of wires. The door malfunctions and opens. Cass runs forwards and does the same to the other doors, not bothering to read the questions.

When she reaches the final room and sees the crowd of Nulls blocking her path, she shoots her gun in the air once to get their attention. 

“MOVE!”

Cass rushes through the Nulls as they part in front of her. 

“CYAN!!! Don’t worry, I’ll get you out of here!” 

Step: “Uhh… I’m in here too”

Cass hits a button on the wall and runs up to the edge near where the cage is hanging. The cage begins to lower until it reaches the ledge. The door opens and Cyan hops out. Cass immediately hugs him. 

“I’m so glad you're safe! I didn’t think I could get here in time.” 

Step steps out of the cage and stands near them awkwardly. Cass notices he’s there and remembers that she needs to touch him to end the second timer. She stops hugging Cyan and pokes Step on the shoulder. 

Final timer for getting through the gates: 00:12 Final timer for touching Step (Extra points): 01:33

Mitochondria were not nicknamed the "powerhouse of the cell" until 1957. Since my AU is set in a time period similar to the 1920s, Cassandra has no idea what that phrase means. 

Clash of the Cubes - Challenge 5

“Welcome back everyone, to the Clash of the Cubes. I’m your host Pulse.”

“And I’m your co-host Step!”

“Now, it’s time for the final challenge before the finale! I know how excited or scared you all may be right now, so without further a do, let’s start the challenge!”

“…”

“Uh… Pulse? The challenge…”

“…Any second now…”

“Wait wha- hang on OH SH—“

As soon as Step realizes his sense of Deja Vu, a trapdoor underneath him opens, dropping Step to who knows where.

“So, for this challenge, I managed to salvage some parts of the ULTIMATE OBSTACLE COURSE OF DEADLY PROPORTIONS, but I quickly came to the conclusion that a single buzzsaw and a truss wouldn’t make for a compelling challenge, so instead, I came up with another one, heheh…"

"In this new challenge, your goal is to get past three gates. These gates are opened by correctly answering questions of increasing difficulty.

“Now, why you may ask? Well, I put our beloved co-host in a cage suspended above a hole with a spike pit! If you don’t get past the gates within one minute, the cage opens, dropping him into the pit!” “Your goal is to save him by getting past the gates and also the Nulls past the last one, and getting them out safely.”

“Oh. And just incase you needed any more motivation… Heheh…”

Pulse turns on a TV, and it shows the cage with Step inside... along with the person closest to the Competitor inside.

“I have invited some… familiar faces to join us for this challenge, heheheh!”

“Now before we start, I gotta mention. Extra points are earned by getting them out as fast as possible. The timer for the points stops as soon as you and Step touch, so you gotta be fast~~”

“Anyways, on your marks, get set, go!”

The cage room is the exact room from Challenge 2, and anyone inside can also escape, although the nulls off to the side are kinda numerous and will try to put them back in if they escape

Plus, escaping the cage early doesn’t give the extra points

The gates’ questions are:

What is the powerhouse of the cell?

What is 12 x 2 / 2 x 2 / 2 - 6 + 1?

Solve for x: x^3 - 20x^2 + 121x - 210 = 0

Your cubes can break through the gates if they cannot solve them

The extra point timer is separate from the cage’s timer, so you can still touch Step and after the cage opened

By the way, show the timer by the end, and please make it be realistic

OC-Tober/Inktober Day 29: Most Likely to Get Lost

I drew Cyan for this one, he has a TERRIBLE sense of direction.

I guess I'm going to be doing this into November for a day or two since I wasn't able to catch up.

OC-Tober/Inktober Day 28: Millionaire

Richard, the owner of the largest mining company West of the Iron Harbor and Levi's biggest critic/rival

His family has been slowly expanding their mining operations for decades, and he hates to see Levi grow his own so fast and seemingly out of nowhere. It also doesn't help that Levi is a Corrupted Shape

He's also one of the main reasons that Levi hired the Macabre Gang to be his personal bodyguards

After Levi came into possession of his first mine, when Richard found out that a Corrupted Shape owned the mine that used to be owned by one of his closest friends he was furious. (Though he had been drifting away from that friend for the past 10 years or so due to clashing morals regarding Corrupted Shapes) So furious in fact, that he hired someone to kill him.

Luckily, Levi had experience defending himself and was able to fend them off

After the third time that someone was sent after him Levi decided to hire the Macabre Gang to protect him, since between trying to run a mining operation and being in constant fear for his life he was stressed to the point where he couldn't sleep or accomplish anything

After Levi hired the Macabre Gang Richard gave up on trying to kill him, knowing that it was pointless

He decided that he would instead use his connections to slowly stifle Levi's business

Despite his best efforts, Levi's operation continued to expand at unprecedented rates

Slowly the other mine owners began to do business with Levi despite Richard trying to convince them otherwise. Even if Levi was a Corrupted Shape, he was giving them offers that they couldn't refuse

Richard is the only mine owner who still refuses to do any business with Levi whatsoever, even though every mine owner who has worked with Levi has seen major growth in their operations due to their business with him

Even now, when his status as the owner of the largest mining operation is in jeopardy

Levi is only becoming more powerful, and the growth in Richard's mining company has slowed to basically nothing

I'm two days behind now because I was too busy/tired/burned out yesterday (the joys of college midterms) Anyways, I decided to do a modern day AU and give Blixer a cool gangster outfit (Since my main AU takes place in the late 19th/early 20th century)

OC-Tober/Inktober Day 25: OC Least Like Yourself

Luther, one of the worst criminals the City had seen for several decades. It took months of work and nearly the entire police force to track him down, and once he was finally captured he was tried and served the worst punishment available: Banishment to the Corrupted Wastes, somewhere where he wouldn't be able to cause any more harm... At least, not to Pure Shapes.

Nobody cares what happens in the Wastes, as long as it doesn't affect them.

He caused a lot more harm after his banishment. Possibly more than he ever did in the City.

What did he do to bet banished? Well... (TW under cut for violence)

He was a serial killer and the ringleader of a large criminal organization.
