Will it bear him bad omen if she holds him till her last breath? Should she give him to his father's arms? Or are Sakumo's hands trembling too much to hold a life that is still so fragile? The scent of blood wraps her in the cold wind blows across her now frozen skin. There's a reek of sulphur and ash all around. More than before. And Sakumo winces in heavy breaths. It should hurt to be held so tightly, yet her body feels nothing anymore. Except the end, getting closer and closer. Someone screams. Someone cries. Everything buzzes, voices blur in a haze of gibberish. Is it Sakumo's voice that screams furiously? Is it White Fang's the suffering howl? Is it hers the child that is crying out amid the turmoil of a tragic night? Why can she no longer see anything? Has eternal darkness descended upon her? Has the cloak of the grim reaper fallen on her? Is it time to leave, forever?

« Wha- Rouna! » is Sakumo's certainly this shout, the sole one capable of towering above the deafening darkness within, it scares her though as it echoes in the nothingness, « ROUNA! »

In nothingness air is dense with breaths that don't turn carbon dioxide dispersing into the night. Oxygen suffocates her throat, clots of blood and air choking her. Words cut off from her. They slide silent into tears, furrowing the crimson in her face into mute love that she no longer has voice, will never have, to utter. The scent of snowy hair grazing her lips is the last sense life grants her. A clemency of fate. And in the illusion of a life that would have been she sees him, Kakashi grow. Standing tall and proud. Calling her mother, in the warmth of a smile. And in her last heartbeat she feels it, for a last time, the warm of the tiny weeping body, the bundle of soiled sheets, her son's cry of farewell echoing in the reverberation of her last pulse is the gentlest and cruelest grace that life has bestowed upon her. And a farewell dies in her lips.

Baby kakashi hc, warnings for bad medical situations and character death

Kakashi's mum took a mission while pregnant, possibly without realising she was pregnant. It went wrong. Her team died and she was injured, gave birth to kakashi in hiding days away from the village, with no medical supplies.

She knew she wouldn't make it, so she summoned her ninken and asked them to take Kakashi to konoha, even though their contract would probably run out before they could get Kakashi there. They ended up negotiating a contract switch which ended up with Kakashi 'signing' the ninken contract (the alpha bitch helped to activate a surge of his chakra, and it's quite easy to prick a baby's finger to sign a contract).

Kakashi's mother died surrounded by ninken (hers, and now her sons), with her son in her arms. Her mission was successful, but not worth the price.

Looking at Kakashi's age at the beginning of "Naruto", I kind of want to make a "He was only 26??? He should have been at the club!!!" type of joke. But my immediate response to that is "The CLUB??? This man should be at the RETIREMENT HOME!!!" and I'm only like half-joking about that.

I think Kakashi could potentially have a great time volunteering at / hanging out at the ninja retirement home. (Statistically, some of them have to make it and/or get injured out of service.) He could be killing it at the cards and dice tables, taking naps on the couch under a pile of his dogs, swapping sexy novels with horny retirees, and complaining with his fellow war veterans about how much his body hurts. You are not getting this man into therapy, but it probably wouldn't hurt him to hang out with a 96-year-old woman who's thrilled to have someone nod along to her rant about how her soap opera radio show isn't bloody enough anymore and the jelly desserts aren't as good as they used to be either, just to put some things into perspective for him. He's so young! And I bet that the retirees would love hearing about his troublesome genin team and LOVE giving him advice of varying quality.

Honestly, I like to imagine that this is what post-canon Kakashi spends some of his time doing. Rokudaime Hokage Kakashi visits some retirement homes as a village leadership duty or because Gai is teaching some physical fitness classes, and this is new for him because he's never really known anyone who made it to retirement before, and Kakashi is almost immediately like, "Oh, fuck yeah, there's an erotic book club here!!! Where has this place been all my life???" He's signing up for water aerobics and the photography club. He's going to gardening shows and painting exhibitions. He's been a soldier since he was, like, 5 or 6 years old, but now he's going to learn how to crochet silly hats for his dogs and he's the celebrity judge for the lawn bowling tournament later. Awesome.

Since Ichigo dies at about 15, and Hatake get their marks at like 14? what do her clan markings look like? 👀

OHHH OK THIS IS ACTUALLY A WHOLE THING, SO,

Ichigo got moon stripes !! It's also known as the story teller stripes, and is the traditional tattoos of the Hatake clan's religious leader and story keeper. Which Ichigo does end up in training to become!

There's actually a bit of drama with the fact that Yuki, the current clan shaman, is so old (she's in her 70's, which is basically like being in her 120's for a shinobi), and she's only now picking an apprentice in Ichigo.

Yuki did actually have an apprentice before, who was fully trained and set up to take up the position whenever Yuki died— but they were one of the 5 Hatake to die to illness the winter before the Hatake were summoned to iron court (which is the event that got the ball rolling on the Hatake joining Konoha a year or two later)

Yuki settled on Ichigo being her next apprentice relatively quickly after that, but wouldn't actually tell anyone about it for some more years— stubbornly staying quiet on the topic even when pressed with increasingly stressed and worried questions about it. Ichigo was only about 8 at the time, but Yuki set to training her just a little bit under the table

It was easy enough, when Ichigo was always happy to listen to her stories and gossip about past and present events. Ichigo kind of ended up soaking in a lot of things she'd be expected to learn in the role (religious rights / mythos of spirits and gods / traditions and why they do them / stories passed down through the family / etc.) naturally throughout the years.

Finally, Ichigo turned 14 and lead her first hunt— the marker of a Hatake coming of age. Afterwards, it was Yuki's job to give her the stripes Yuki deemed to 'fit her best,' which is ofc when she gave her the moon stripes and officially announced her plans with a "teehee congrats <3"

It wasn't actually too much of a surprise to those who'd been paying attention to what had been going on, but still caught some off guard. Ichigo had been "training" for like, 6 whole years at that point, without even realizing it. So she was honestly pretty well into her education on the roll, and would probably only need a few more years afterwards to be deemed officially ready to take it on

But then ofc, she dies a year later. And Yuki dies in very quick succession. (Losing her third apprentice, and so old already, had done terrible things to her heart and spirit) And with both of them went a very large portion of the clans history.

Others in the clan, of course, still knew plenty. Yuki's teachings had not been for Ichigo alone, and many had sat by her side and listened to her stories as well. But no single person knew as much as they had or had been in the same position of authority to do things like honoring the spirits of their ancestors or assigning Hatake stripes to their young.

In their deaths, Haruka had to take up many of their duties, mostly by default via being the highest other figure of respect in that regard. But they lost a lot.

There's some sort of interesting point to be made that the Hatake's religious leader wears tattoos that symbolize a red moon. And that Kaguya-hime is among the gods they pay respects to.

I don't really have any real thoughts on it other than going "hmm." and writing that down to reference later, but like !! That's something

i think something that's so funny is like. kakashi is put in so many situations in canon and clearly he is not right but whatever. it happens. everyone you ever love dies? cool whatever. WHAT IF a bunch of people on the internet also gave you mommy issues. what if your mom was the snake man who wants to use your student's body as a skin suit? WHAT IF your mom was the moon princess who eventually tries to end the world? what if she super loved you though? what if you're actually half moon alien creature and perhaps even an abomination in the eyes of modern shinobi society? hm? what then gay boy?

if you would feel so inclined to humor a simple jester, imagine this:

kakazu vs kakashi. kazaku manages to get his creepy weird tendrils around kakashi's heart but because kakashi is half moon alien creature, kakazu perishes on the spot. one second 'ooooh i got your heart copy ninja oohh im gonna make this hurt copy ninja' less than a second later *ah echo sound effect* and suddenly he's dead on the ground in the peter griffin death pose. why? because he couldn't handle moon princess alien chakra. pure, unfiltered chakra not sullied by the mortal condition. and everyone just...accepts it. kakashi has no idea what happened and he's not going to think about it too much. in fact, even though kakazu was an enemy, his death via merely touching kakashi's heart fucks with him even MORE because what do you mean someone touches, someone WANTS him (in a very deadly manner, but i digress) and they DIE. he must be cursed.

but he just has moon princess chakra blood and that makes it dangerous for anyone to try and absorb his chakra, much like kakazu was trying to do.

fast forward kaguya, aka mother (in the rupaul (gay) way), betrays madara and stabs him and reunites with zetsu. and— oh! hello son! you do not look so good, have you been eating enough vegetables? i saw how you killed that fraudulent immortal! i was so proud. you so much like your father. he was such a dear but alas, he was mortal in the most pure sense and he cannot be brought back. but you have half me so it's not too late for you to develop your horns! you're basically a toddler still. oh mama loves you baby boy! now watch out, she's going to kill your friends and loved ones <3

or maybe she starts talking to kakashi through his dreams and that prompts him to learn more about her and the otsutsuki. maybe he learns to channel any power she passed down to him. or maybe he's just stuck with the information that he's the secret love child of an alien and never mentions it to anyone ever because in the grand scheme of things, he has a lot more going on in front of him.

Naruto 405 // Iruka and Naruto

I'm always so emotional when I think about Iruka and Naruto relationship. He's always been there for Naruto since the start, and the first one to care and actually believe in Naruto, and be worried for him always. I love his character so much, to me he's the real father figure for Naruto ❤️

Since screwing has been heavy on everyone's minds, let's flip the script. Intimacy comes in all brands. What's something you notice your comrades do when they see you getting frayed? Are they quiet? Or is it Raidou &Gai dragging you outta bed for a spar & round at the bar?

Kakashi is allergic to the full spectrum of emotions, he usually leaves me with a dog and runs away.

Anko tends to distract me with analysis, asking for my help with a chemistry problem or some pestering about a new venom or poison.

Raidou takes me out for drinks and I usually end up crying into his toilet while he holds my hair, then sleeping on his couch for the next week.

Gai gives amazing hugs, second to only Chouza sensei. He’s surprisingly gentle and is usually against sparing when I’m not at a hundred percent.

Sensei doesn’t always have time to offer an ear or a shoulder, but I tend to come home to a meal in the fridge with a note asking to meet up sometime to discuss something or another.

Ibiki offers sparing or drinks and a movie. It’s fun to critique bad action movies or cheesy romcoms when a little tipsy and leaning against a giant human heater.

Hayate offers a night of boardgames with him and Yugao, sometimes with Izumo and Kotetsu too. Uno and Monopoly are done under supervision only and no weapons allowed.

Kurenai is a self care queen and on the rare days we actually cross paths it’s an all day event of deep conditioning, pedicures, face masks, and playing with makeup. Mirai is adorable and loves to ‘help’ and often paints my toenails. And everything else in the vicinity but it’s cute.
