I'm searching for a long-lost Mass Effect fic on ao3. For the life of me I can't find it anywhere.

Plot is:

Kaiden/M!Shep, Post-ME3: Kaiden survives but Shepard is MIA. Earth is rebuilding, and hospitals start replacing the term "John Doe" for unidentified victims with "John Shepard", so searching for Shepard's body is much more difficult. But! Kaiden and Shepard swapped dog tags before the final battle...

Anyone know the one I'm talking about? 🤗

IT'S HERE

I'm entering the new year with my latest mod release that gives Kaidan Alenko the N7 Day x Veilguard sets in two color variations. On installation, you can choose between having all four armors, just the black leather, or just the brown leather. A patch is included for Kaidan Alenko Overhaul.

Since I've already given these to mshep in all three games and Kaidan in LE1, time to give these to the best boyfriend in LE3 :)

The thing is I don't think Kaidan is really too "repressed nerd" in me1 even though they're going for that vibe a smidge (less so with mshep) and he's noticeably less so in me3 but repressed nerd for outgoing Shepard is a fun dynamic.

Started up a Shenko fic. Kaidan x Dom Shepard close to ten years after the Reaper War ended. Quite sad.

CONFESSION:

I love the mshenko pairing but I hate the dialog from their Citadel date in ME3. It plays like Shepard had never even considered Kaidan before compared to the pining these two bashful idiots had in my headcanon since ME1. I never wrote fanfic before or since but I reworked the entire in game conversion (with a dialog wheel and paragon interrupt!) to make it feel more natural to me. I made it more of a mutual expression of love and not wanting to make the mistake of waiting any longer to say it.
