Back from my very long hiatus with the ninth card in my Mass Effect tarot series. Commander Shepard is the perfect embodiment of The World card. This card ends the cycle of the Major Arcana cards, just as Commander Shepard ends the Reaper Cycle with their final choice. It's a card that signifies completion and achievement, and very worthy of our valiant Commander Shepard as they stare down at Earth. The World: Representing balance and accomplishment, The World is the final card of the Major Arcana suite. Feel a sense of relief as you achieve balance in your life, as well as the connection to the world around you when you find your place in the cycle of life. This card ends The Fool's journey and is often depicted with a dancing person in the center, surrounded by a wreath that signifies the completion and cycle of life.

thinking about kaidan begging shepard not to leave—not to leave like everyone before them, like rahna, like ashley, like himself on horizon. kaidan not being able to forgive himself for losing people to his own mistakes. jump zero. walking away from shep. causing himself so much heartache for nothing. stay, stay because you're the only good thing that's happened to me; shepard is the only thing he feels hes done right.

if he lost them he'd never forgive himself. he'd never forgive himself for letting them be the one that got away, letting them walk away, letting everything play out just like it did before.

he can't lose another friend. he can't lose the one person left that he truly, deeply loves.

it's for this reason he messages shepard apologetically after horizon; he knows it's wrong, and he knows he's pushing shepard away like rahna pushed him away, and god if that isn't eating him alive. so he messages the commander and reassures that he wants to trust them but needs time and needs them away from cerberus.

and in the end it's all for nothing because shepard still leaves like everyone else, and all he can do is hope his words are enough and that the commander's final words to him won't hang so heavy. and he's doing it all over again, watching them die again

The NTR Difference: Miranda with Jacob vs Miranda with Shepard

Miranda was a phenomenal woman. Incredibly smart, observant, knowlefgeable, competent, and of coirse absolutely drop-dead gorgeous, with her body literally built to be perfect. She was everything a man could dream of, could want in a woman. And while Jacob would forever be grateful for the few months they had been together, he was no fool: Miranda was perfect, was a bombshell with the sex drive to match, and Jacob... Jacob wasn't.

Oh, he had nothing specific to complain about in that regard for himself! He knew he was good-looking, he kept in shape, he knew his duty and did it well, and he liked to think he was a good lover (he had certainly not gotten any complaints from the others women he had dated). But he knew this was not enough for Miranda, and they had broke things off amicably. She was a queen, she was perfection, and she deserved a man that was better than Jacob. He had accepted it, and made peace with that fact.

While I play DAO I couldn't help but try and get my Shepards sorted out for my eventual Trilogy replays and I'm more or less thoroughly happy with how they turned out.

Above we have John T. Shepard and below we have Alex L. Shepard.

I have tried several custom names but John works so well and I could feel myself almost hating MaleShep trying to force a different name onto him.

He's a Spacer, War Hero and I play him as a solder. Heavily inspired by Sheploo's appearanc. Look Mum, I have my Sheploo at home!

Alex is my Colonist, Ruthless soldier. As with John I very much love the default, iconic appearance of FemShep, so I went with it for a custom Shepard.

I wouldn't mind trying to look at getting a character page set up so I can gush about my OCs in more detail. But until then enjoy the above.
