it is so frustrating how if u aren’t playing as a dwarf rook who is rightfully pissed at what solas and the other ancient elves did to their people the only active dwarf voice is harding who is too kind and too sympathetic and thinks there’s ’more to it’/‘she can’t really be THAT mad at him’.

it really undermines the weight of what solas, mythal, and the others did to the dwarves unless you the player give half a fuck about the dwarves.

but this fandom is so obnoxiously elf-centric and so few dialogue options are of rightful anger towards solas where it’s like!!!!!! Doubtful.

they really want you to feel bad for this asshole who was active and complicit in tranquillizing the titans and hurting the ancient dwarves’ lives and culture. they didn’t do this much legwork for any of the other DA antagonists!!!!!

they took such a cowardly approach to the antaam in datv, having them completely split from the qun and the arishok (and you only learn the arishok isn't involved from a codex entry fab), it's like they wanted big horned enemies for the pc to fight without having to grapple with what actually makes the qunari qunari

i wrote a whole ass rant about this (in agreement with you) this morning and then my tumblr app crashed and i lost it but just know i am with u anon. the antaam are genuinely so disturbingly, classically racist and fall into the most obvious dehumanizing tropes historicaly used in media to justify colonialism, imperialism and violence its actually fucking insane to me that it made it to the final cut of the game. i think part of the reason i hate treviso so much is because it actually makes me feel ill to see it because its that bad

Do you think the veil should've came down like honestly what would that have really done? The elves become immortal again right? Well ok but that doesn't really fix the oppression issue anf like now there's demons right? solas should've rallied the people currently present instead of trying to bring back a long dead world

solas never cared about anything or anyone except mythal and what He Can Do for the elves that look up to him. he has a savior complex but only for one singular race. he doesn’t care about anyone who dies in the process, and used people to achieve a means to His end.

qunari are savages and dwarves, the original denizens of the part of thedas he helped the other ancient elves overthrow and mine titan blood for don’t count as actual people.

nobody was ever going to convince solas the world as it currently stands deserves saving. a big doe-eyed lavellan he sucked face with once and snatched her heritage from was never going to change his mind. she was just one more person he could feel sad about as he continued on his way.

some ppl are upset about how the “solavellan ending” removes her agency but idk man she was never going to actually “save” him. lavellan’s just a tradwife at that point, collecting eggs in her egg apron as solas shuffles through purgatory lmao.

Evren is a mage with an academic degree whose adoptive soporati parents relied on and used to achieve a higher social status. blinded by the venatori's promise of prestige and greatness, Evren almost joined the cult almost a decade ago. made many mistakes and left their old life behind, abandoning their studies, relationships, and privileges to join the shadow dragons to make up for what they've done under the venatori mentors' wing.

kind of a troubled mess and doesn't like talking about their feelings, of which they have plenty. drinks and fistfights their problems away. stoic and forthright, but is good with people. enjoys the beauty of poetry and can be quite a dreamer.

fun fact: Evren means cosmos/universe in turkish, and is the name of a mythological snake-like dragon :)

Vendela is a dwarven tinkerer from a village in tevinter that had struggled to defend itself from marauders for many years until a traveling group of grey wardens took care of the problem with the help of Vendela's arrows and explosives. inspired by their stories and their cause, she joined the order and spent a couple years in anderfels with other grey warden masters focusing on developing better artillery against the darkspawn.

she looks tough, but is sweet and gentle. extremely shrewd and can be quite cunning and calculating under all that niceness. cautious and always plans ahead. loves when things explode.
