Blake: (tossing and turning in bed) Can't sleep... (glances at the door to the bedroom and bites her lip as she watches shadows pass underneath the door) No. No. It's too soon for that. We didn't even technically share a bed at Jaune's house in the Ever After.

Yang: (muffled laughter on the other side of the door along with two other voices)

Blake: But it was nice being so close.... (remembers the warm, floaty feeling she got from sleeping within close proximity to Yang)

Blake's Heart: (butterflies and warmth and floaty feeling with warm fuzzies) Go get our girl already!!!

Blake: Okay. Okay. Okay. I'll go ask. (Takes a deep breath and peeks out the door into the little dormatory common room)

Yang: (wheezing with laughter) No way! Qrow, you never told us that you wore the school skirt for a week when you were a student!

Qrow: Your dad told me it was a kilt!

Raven: Don't put all the blame on Tai, Qrow. Summer played along with it.

Qrow: You're just mad that my legs looked better than yours in that skirt.

Raven: Hardly the case now. I don't think those pasty white legs of yours have seen the light of day since then.

Yang: (laughing so hard she's crying silently and goes to wipe a tear when she notices Blake standing in the doorway) Hey, babe! Sorry, are we keeping you up?

Blake: Oh! No. Not at all. I just noticed that it was getting late and you hadn't come- GONE! Hadn't gone... to bed.

Raven & Qrow: (arch an eyebrow with a smirk at the slip and glance at each other)

Yang: (oblivious) I'll go to bed here in a minute. I was catching up with Qrow and hearing how Raven came around to help.

Raven: (gives Qrow a look of: "Can you believe this kid?")

Qrow: (exchanges with a look of: "She has Tai's obliviousness and your romance disasterdom. What do you expect?")

Raven: (rolls her eyes and stares pointedly at Blake) Hey, if you want to sleep with Yang, you're better off asking her directly instead of beating around the bush.

Blake: (blushes and steam billows out of her ears)

Yang: (blushes and sits ramrod straight) U-Uh... Blake?

Blake: Yes!

Yang: Did you... want to share a bed?

Blake: (ears flicker as her eyes flit between everyone in the room) I... wouldn't be opposed....

Qrow: Do you want to sleep with my niece or not?

Blake: Not like that!!! (Balks) Not yet anyway!!! (Gags at her words) I MEAN!!! YES!!! I would like to share a bed with Yang! (Turns to Yang) When are you coming to bed?!

Yang: (a flustered and blushing mess) I'll be there in five minutes!

Blake: Okay!

Yang: Okay!

Blake: I love you!

Yang: I love you too!

Blake: (stomps over to Yang in embarrassment, kisses her cheek, and sprints back into her bedroom)

Yang: (eyes flicking between red and lilac from embarrassment)

Raven: You were right. I do like her. I was a little worried after spying around post fall of Beacon.

Qrow: Told you. (Drinks his decaf coffee) Better get going, Firecracker. Your lady awaits.

Yang: (stammers and sputters) Right! Uh! Goodnight! (Trips over the chair as she rushes to the bedroom)

Raven: (sips her tea after the door slams closed) I give them six months before they're talking about marriage.

Qrow: I'll see your six months and put my money on our little Firecracker asking.

Raven: Please. That little shadow is clearly a woman who knows what she wants. My money is on the Faunus.

No seriously, I gained quite a few followers during my Wenclair Era, and don’t get me wrong I still adore Wenclair to absolute pieces, but RWBY has been a special hyperfixation of mine fer YEARS. It’s been an interest that hibernates on and off during hiatuses but nothing has ever latched onto my psyche so deeply as RWBY has with all of its faults and good parts alike. Once Feb 18 drops, I swear to you I will be the most obnoxious person e v e r like I will be rwbyrotting so hard I will SCREAM and CRY and HOLLER about Bumbleby and Whiterose and my babygirl Ruby finally finally finally getting some fresh hot juicy character development but I’ve missed all of the girls in general and!!! Just about everything about V9 so like. Prepare yourself fer my true form.

Qzqrow week - Day 4 - Stranded Together

Oz groaned, staring out at the driving snow outside the windows of the little shack he and Qrow were currently taking shelter in. Go out and have fun, Glynda had told them. Work off some steam, things will be just fine at Beacon until they got back, she’d assured them both. It had been fun, at first, just acting like a regular Huntsman again, doing all the things the council wouldn’t have approved of. Danger was a part of the job, though… how could he ever send his students out here to face Grimm if he didn’t provide some sort of example to them? He wasn’t Leon, he’d never be content with just sitting back and talking about fighting. He doubted that he would have been even if he had still just been Ozpin, just himself without the weight of the second soul in the back of his head. As it was, though, well. He had heard about the infestation out here, had been meaning to do something about it for awhile now. At least this way, he was doing it himself as opposed to relying on his students to do it for him. And, just like that, he hated himself again.

There were muffled curses nearby as Qrow slumped against a wall, looking as scruffy as Oz felt and pulling from the flask he always kept by his side in real disgust. Oz frowned, knowing that Qrow was likely to blame his semblance for the fact they were trapped here like this. Personally, he believed finding this shack had been a stroke of good luck, really. If they hadn’t, then they’d still be out there, trying to brave the storm that had swept across this isolated area. It wasn’t properly in any one kingdom, after all. There had been a settlement here, once, long before anyone but he would have ever remembered, but it had failed rather badly due to circumstances actually very similar to these. The walls of this shack were very old, he wondered if it was one last relic from that original attempt? It would be hard to date the walls, of course, without access to the sort of machinery Atlas boasted, but it could potentially be done. If they both lived through this, at least. The Grimm they had come to find had been massive and very old, but it was dead now, too so, if nothing else then they had managed to do something good in the time they had out here?

The floor looked pretty even, too, so there’d be room for at least one if not two sleeping mats when and if either of them got tired as opposed to just annoyed by this turn of events. Qrow was still swearing though, so that might take awhile.

At least the fact that this had been a mission meant that Oz could actually wear his combat gear for once. It was slightly warmer than the suits and made him feel so much less like he was dressing up for the sheer effect over the function. He was and he knew it, there was a specific effect they wanted him to convey after all. And even after a decade in charge of Beacon, he was very aware that they still saw him as far too young. So he was told to dress older, the voice in his head instructing him to act older than he really was. He shook his head, banishing the thoughts. This wasn’t the time, though he might have a few words with certain people when he got back. This had been fun, he wasn’t entirely keen on going back to the gilded cage they’d placed him in. Placed Ozma in… whichever.

Qrow was still swearing, so he sidled up to him, trying to stay as quiet as he could. Qrow hadn’t noticed him move which was odd and slightly worrying, especially considering how observant he usually was. This really had shaken him, hadn’t it? Oh, he did hope that this wouldn’t make him argue that he shouldn’t have any backup again. Qrow called his semblance his curse, but Oz knew curses well and this one? Was less of one than he might think. Qrow was still ranting, so Oz reached out and kissed him, effectively shutting him up. Qrow moaned against his lips, eyes narrow, before kissing him back hungrily.

“It’s rather cold outside I’m afraid, Qrow. The snow might not let up for some time yet. People are aware that we are out here, though, we’ll be found eventually.” Oz stated, breaking the kiss briefly, smiling at his lover.

Qrow just rolled his eyes at him, waiting for Oz to finish what he was thinking. He’d rather enjoyed the kiss, he’d like to go back to it, after all it was a very good distraction from the weather outside. Could it have been his semblance, though, really? Bad luck aside, he’d never noticed it actively changing the weather before. Oh, he complained enough, but… whatever it was outside felt different, odd. He raised an eyebrow, still waiting and Oz grinned. That grin very much did not belong on the face of a man as old as Oz was pretending to be and Qrow chuckled slightly. It really was a wonder than any of them had ever bought the age Oz had once claimed. Not that he could complain much about the discrepancy.

“I only wondered if, since I am uncertain that there is any means of heating this place, we might not be best to make our own. Heat that is.” Oz blushed, not meeting Qrow’s eyes, it was adorable. Qrow smirked and drew him back into a kiss. Hopefully whoever was looking for them would take a few hours…

41. A kiss out of spite

They had both veto-ed the "get along" shirt idea, Raven aptly pointing out to their dearest leader that she and Qrow may have been twins, but they did in fact use separate washrooms, and the idea was quickly handwaved.

She can't say for certain why Summer has this idea that she and Qrow don't behave in the way siblings should: they may not have had the most positive of role models growing up, but her brief time at Beacon had assured her that all siblings acted the way that they did.

Okay, perhaps the knives at breakfast was a bit too far.

Raven is seated beside Qrow, Taiyang across from them, and Summer Rose pacing between the two beds. She has that serious leader face on, the one that she usually made before getting them into some sort of trouble in their class excercises. She can only guess where this is going.

"Summer, really. We get along fine."

"You chucked a knife at him this morning!"

Yep. Definitely too far. Raven gave her a soft grin, even as she felt the faint tremble of Qrow trying desperately to hold back a laugh beside her. It wasn't as if he was so bitter about breakfast. She'd missed, hadn't she?

"I just... I don't understand why you hate Qrow so much!"

"What?" Raven couldn't help the sharp tone that her voice pitched into, reaching over to slap Qrow in the shoulder when his laughter finally bubbled out. Bastard. He was enjoying this. "I don't hate Qrow, what are you--" Summer shot a look at where she'd just slapped him. Fuck. "No, no, I--"

Okay, fine. She'll play by Summer rules. Pitching her voice into as sweet a tone as she can muster, she loops her arm around Qrow's own and squeezes. Hard. "I love my baby brother, Rose. You know that, he knows that." And tugging him down sharply, she presses a quick, harsh kiss to Qrow's cheek.

It looked as forced as it sounded.

Qrow's eyes. Simply for James' they're the most favourite part of Qrow. He likes seeing the emotions reflect in them or change the shade of red very slightly depending on the light. He enjoys leaving feather light kisses on his eyelids.

Legs for days. Enough said.

Qrow's sharp mind of a spy combined with his empathy. There are things James might never say or at least never word properly, but he trusts Qrow would understand.

Qrow's fashion is pretty cool. He could replace or patch up the cape, but otherwise he looks good, each details fitting well into the full picture and the whole style is quite elegant.
