Did you know?
The 4th idol on your Tumblr Dashboard once stopped to help a homeless person, who then pulled them into an alleyway where they and a couple friends had fun using them.
I started this with Chaewon before I had to go and came back. The idol on my dashboard changed to someone else but I figured continuing with Chaewon would be better.
T/W: anal rape and nasty stuff.
Tumblr media
Chaewon's nightly run through the city streets was a routine she cherished, a moment of solitude in her otherwise busy life. But tonight, as she approached a dimly lit alley, a figure emerged from the shadows, huddled and hunched over. Her kind heart couldn't ignore the apparent distress.
"Are you okay?" she asked, slowing to a stop, her breath forming clouds in the chilly air. The figure, a man with ragged clothes and unkempt hair, looked up, his eyes wild and desperate. "Please... just a little help..." he rasped.
Chaewon's empathy took over, and she reached into her pocket to retrieve her wallet. But as she did, the man's hand shot out, gripping her wrist with surprising strength. Alarm flashed across her face. "Hey! Let go!" she cried, attempting to pull free.
Before she could react further, two more figures emerged from the darkness, blocking her escape. "What the...?" She tried to back away, but they had her surrounded.
One of the men, tall and muscular, grabbed her by the throat, lifting her off the ground. "You're gonna be a good little runner for us tonight, sweetheart," he growled, his hot breath on her face. Chaewon kicked and struggled, her eyes wide with fear. "Let me go, you bastards!"
They dragged her deeper into the alley, the rough ground scraping her knees and elbows. The homeless man she had tried to help now stood, revealing a sinister smile. "You'll learn not to trust anyone, bitch," he hissed.
Ripping her running tights with a sharp knife, they exposed her slender thighs and firm ass. Chaewon's screams echoed off the alley walls, attracting no help, only the caws of distant crows. One of the men forced his thick, calloused fingers into her mouth, muffling her cries as he pinched her nose, cutting off her air supply.
"P-Please- I can't..." she begged, tears streaming down her face as she nodded, desperate for oxygen. They released her nose, and she gasped for breath, coughing violently.
Without further delay, they flipped her over, pressing her face into the filthy pavement, still wet from the evening's rain. The cold, grimy surface pressed against her cheek, filling her nostrils with the stench of garbage and urine.
The man with the knife stepped forward, his erection straining against his dirty pants. "You're gonna take this up the ass, bitch," he spat, grabbing her hips and positioning himself at her tight, quivering hole.
Chaewon's body tensed, and she tried to clench, but he was relentless, spitting on her asshole and forcing his thick cockhead past the resistant ring of muscle.
"Nooo!" she wailed as he penetrated her, stretching her painfully. He grabbed a handful of her hair, yanking her head back. "You scream, and we'll make it worse, you hear?"
The pain was excruciating as he thrust forward, his cock pushing past her sphincter, making her eyes water. Her body shook uncontrollably, and she bit her lip, drawing blood, trying to stay silent.
Another man stepped forward, his cock already glistening with pre-cum. "My turn for this pretty hole," he said, slapping her bruised cheek with his thick shaft. The homeless man held her down, his weight pressing her face into the mud, making it hard to breathe.
"Please... Stop– it hurts..." she whimpered, her voice hoarse from crying. The second man spat on her abused hole, then lined up his throbbing cock, slamming into her with one powerful stroke. Chaewon's body jerked, and she screamed into the dirt, her ass clenching involuntarily around the invading cock.
"You like that, huh?" he grunted, pounding her mercilessly. She felt his balls slapping against her swollen pussy lips, still covered by the torn remnants of her tights.
The men took turns, each one using her ass with increasing savagery. Chaewon's cries turned to sobs, then to whimpers as they showed no mercy, each taking their pleasure from her tight, clenching hole.
As the last man finished, he pulled out with a wet, sucking sound, and Chaewon felt something warm and sticky dribble from her gaping hole. She was left trembling, her body covered in dirt and cum, her asshole throbbing painfully.
One of the men delivered a final kick to her stomach, causing her to curl up, gasping for breath. "Remember, bitch. No one gives a fuck about a kind-hearted slut like you."
They left her there, face down, ass up, her body twitching and convulsing. Chaewon's eyes rolled back as she lost consciousness, her prolapsed asshole leaking yellowish cum. The sound of her weak, pitiful whimpers and the warm trickle of her piss mixing with the dirt beneath her marked the end of her horrific ordeal.

Rating: Teen and Up CW: Unspecified Eating Disorder, Food Insecurity Tags: Post-Season 2, Pre-Season 3, Pre-Relationship, Pre-Steve Harrington/Eddie Munson, Angst and Hurt/Comfort, Different First Meeting AU, Eddie Munson Takes Care of Steve Harrington, Eddie Munson Has a Crush on Steve Harrington, Worried Eddie Munson, Eddie Munson is a Sweetheart, Steve Harrington Has Self Esteem Issues, Insecure Steve Harrington, Lonely Steve Harrington, Steve Harrington is a Sweetheart, Strangers to Friends, Sharing Food, Food as a Metaphor For Love, Steve Harrington Has Bad Parents, Steve Harrington Has Rich Parents, He is Not Rich, Dialogue Heavy Originally, this was going to be 5+1 where Eddie shares his food five times and once where Steve shares his food, but I just couldn't finish the original plot.
🥪——————🥪 There’s a boy in Eddie’s lunch period that doesn’t have anything to eat. It’s weird because he knows who this kid is; Steve Harrington—cocky and rich and bitch with no bite—the kid who’s fallen from grace thanks to a few punches to the face. And the same kid who doesn’t really talk to anybody.
As it is, Steve is sitting by himself at one of the lunchroom tables. Arms crossed on the surface, head down on his forearms, hair limp at the crown of his head. Unusual and unseen. His shoulders are hitched, shaking like he’s crying unsubtly, yet quietly—unseen and unheard. It’s weird, he thinks, because Steve had just been looking out one of the windows, eyes a little hazy, glazed like he’d been gearing up to cry. Eddie had caught Steve pushing his hands into his hair, tugging like he was trying to rip it all out. But then he’d gone ahead and collapsed into this sad, huffing little heap onto the table.
Eddie maybe keeps his eye on Steve for too long, too often. To know the multitudes. The little fractures in his mask—spider webs, that’s what they were, spreading and sprawling. He supposed that, at some point, the web would be completed and be easy enough to knock down. Leaving in its wake a sad, mole-dotted, half-bruised, white-scarred face.
A face with a hungry maw, if the way Steve clutched his stomach said anything.
He makes a last minute decision today. Eddie curves his path away from the Hellfire Club’s table. Lunchbox dangling in his hand—a measly bologna and mustard sandwich, a baggie of salted pretzel sticks, and a Yoo-hoo he didn’t need to refrigerate all clinking against the metal interior. And then he plops himself down in front of Steve without a peep, just the hard clink of his wallet chain on the bench and his too big rings on the table.
All at once, slow, yet purposeful—Steve’s head springs up. He looks worse up close. Mottled purple. Swollen and shiny. There’s one of those terrible scars on the edge of his hairline, though this one’s different: pink, long, jagged, and fresh.
Steve squints at him. Covers the side of his face by the window, hand cupped around his one good eye, and swallows hard enough Eddie almost recoils. “Munson?” Steve croaks—literally, Eddie notes, like a strangled, old frog—“what’re you doing?”
“Mm, having lunch with my pal,” Eddie answers, prying open his lunchpail, food pulled out one thing at a time. He catches his thumbs in the Ziplock fasten, and from it produces that sad, drooping sandwich his uncle made last night. It’s a little soggy in his hands, too much mustard. And the bologna is sort of…lukewarm, but not inedible. Eddie digs around in one of his vest pockets, pulls out a small Swiss Army knife, and cuts the sandwich in half. Licks the blade, mustard just a little left of what’s meant to be tastefully sour. Then, he pushes a portion of the sandwich across the table to sit right in front of Steve. “Usually, I’d bring a lunch of your preference, but this is all I’ve got right now. So, hope you don’t mind some bologna.”
“I don’t wanna take your food away from you, man. I’ll be fine until I get home.”
Selfless is a trait he didn’t think Steve could really have. Well, from the assumed version he has in his head anyway. But it’s a trait he’s learning he probably won’t like. Not all the way, at least.
“Right,” Eddie murmurs, “and you clutching your stomach out of hunger seems like something to be fine about.” He picks up his half and takes a large bite, licks the bit of mustard from the corner of his mouth. With his mouth full, “It’s weird, y’know, I never see you in here with food. Not even lunch lady Donna’s mashed potatoes and gravy. If you wanna know my opinion, that’s one of the better lunches she makes, and it’s something anybody should try at least once.” He wrestles around in his lunchbox again, a glass bottle of Yoo-hoo now in his grip. The cap pops off satisfyingly and he takes a small swig, swallows the incredible glob in his mouth, and then offers the drink across the table. “Or, y’know, I thought maybe a rich kid would have their own lunch. With all of the good brand stuff. Like uh…Pringles? Yeah, Pringles and Coke? That seems like your game.”
Steve sniffs, looks down at his sandwich, and picks it up gingerly. He keeps staring at it, though. Not out of thought, like maybe he’s wondering if he should give it back. Something more…somber. “Correction,” he mutters, “I have rich parents. I’m just the kid they let live in their house.” Finally, he takes a bite with a gentle, low hum. As if it’s the greatest thing he’s ever put in his mouth. Which can’t possibly be true because, even though Eddie knows this meal is one of Wayne’s specialties, it’s honestly one of the shittier ones. If anything, this sandwich is just placeholder food—something that’ll get them by until Wayne gets paid next, if he gets paid on time.
Eddie hums, taking in the information. “They can’t even bother to send you on with at least a little something? Dude, tell me you at least get some breakfast. You’re breakin’ my heart over here.”
Again, Steve looks at his sandwich. Somber and small. He won’t look at Eddie, though. But Eddie can see him. His flushed cheeks—blotchy and tear track stained. Red rimmed eyes. Shaky fingers. He’s pale underneath the ruddiness. Lips chapped, eyes sunken, dark circles.
He looks like shit.
“Sometimes,” Steve murmurs, “I used to have a bagel in the morning, but my mom said the carbs were bad. I stopped buying them. So…I dunno. It’s not like she even”—He stops. Shakes his head. Takes another bite.
“She even…?”
Steve catches his eyes for all of a second. Places his sandwich on the baggie it came in. Wipes his cheeks, just barely missing some of the bruising. “She’s not even home most of the time anyway. It doesn’t really matter,” he states quiet and bitter. He clears his throat, the sound strained. Shrugs. Rests his face in one hand, looking out the window again. Face going pinched and pained. “You ever had a fend for yourself kind of day?”
“Eh…I’ve had fend for yourself nights. But that’s because my uncle works late, sometimes it’s just up to me to figure something out. Those are cereal nights, man.” He watches Steve again. At the way he doesn’t go back for the sandwich. Not even disgusted. Just…blank. “Was today one of those, Steve?” he asks quietly.
No verbal answer. Just one, small, shaky nod. Eddie won’t stand for that.
“What food do you like? Maybe I can help you come up with like a…a meal plan calendar or something. So that you know what you have at all times and you can, like, make sure you’re eating good.” Steve still doesn’t say anything. Lips rolled tight to his teeth. Eddie tries again, “Or at least just eating, Stevie. I know we don’t really know each other at all, but I see you in here everyday. No lunch. Not even one of those stupid boxes of raisins. You gotta eat, man. Or else, y’know, that shit catches up to you.”
Across from him, Steve sniffles again and wipes the back of his hand on his nose. “I don’t know what I like,” he says, “sandwiches are fine, I guess. It’s fine”—
“Good, great actually. Steve Harrington is getting a tour of the Munson sandwich recipes. Passed down from my uncle, the master of sandwich art. Y’like black forest ham? Maybe a bit of grilled chicken? Tomatoes?” Steve’s finally staring at him now. Wide eyes and raised eyebrows. Mouth dropped ajar with slight disbelief. “What?” Eddie says, “don’t look at me like that. We don’t have to be friends or anything, but you gotta eat. It’s equity, dude. I already got what I need in terms of food and eating, but you don’t. So, I getcha what you need. I help you out.”
Steve droops, breathes out a little sigh. Digs his thumbnail into the stale crust of the sandwich, picking at it, crumbling it onto the table. “You don’t have to do that, Eddie,” he speaks quietly, “I…uh…I don’t want to assume anything, but I don’t think it’s fair that somebody who makes less money than my whole family has to make up for my parents’ stupidity. It’s not your job to look out for somebody like me anyway, right? Just another screw up who can’t get his shit together, can’t even figure out how he’s going to pay for worthwhile groceries for the month.” He finally stops picking at the sandwich. Wipes his nose again. “Thanks for trying, though. I’m sorry that you have to care at all.”
Eddie eyes Steve for a silent beat. And then, with careful, languid movements, he lays his hand palm up on the table. Steve looks to it, but pretends to pay it no mind. Even if his face crumbles a bit more. “Steve,” Eddie speaks, keeping his voice measured and low, “I want to help. I—I know that my uncle and I don’t make a lot. And, sure, maybe figuring out a way to get you some good homecooked meals is a little out of my budget. But I don’t care. You deserve to eat, man. No matter how much money your parents make.
“If I can make your day a little easier—because, I gotta be honest, it seems like you’re just having…the toughest time a person can ever possibly have—then great. If it means me giving you a dollar for the school lunch or just coming here with an extra sandwich in my lunchbox, whatever.
“Nobody deserves to go without eating because their bullshit parents prioritize work and social lives over their own children—and no child deserves to believe they’re the problem. Let me help, okay? Even if we have to start out small, so be it.” Eddie takes a moment to pause, to breathe, to let the cafeteria background noise mingle around them. He crinkles the edge of the Ziplock baggie, pushes it further into Steve’s space, and does the same with the bag of pretzel sticks. “I want to take care of you. Even if we’re just strangers in the hallway, I want to make sure that you’re doing okay.”
He does his best to lean across the way, to block off the rest of the cafeteria from their table. As Steve lays his shaky hands flat on the surface and his face turns bright red, tears steadily streaming down his face. Eddie digs the bandana out of his back pocket and slides it across the table, too, offering it up in silence.
Steve takes it with a shaky hand and pats the tired fabric on his tacky skin. He blows a sharp, wheezing, snotty breath from his nose. “If you’re sure, then I like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches a lot. But I…I wanna make sure I can pay you back, okay? Don’t wanna—I don’t wanna like abuse your generosity or something.”
“You wouldn’t be,” he quickly amends. “I’m offering, man, don’t worry about it.”
“Yeah, but I…I don’t think you understand,” Steve adamantly presses, “I know it’s gonna make me sound all whiny and like uptight or whatever, but I don’t earn an allowance from my parents anymore. Not since…well, I’m sure you know how stupid I am.”
“Hey,” Eddie gently scolds. “You’re not stupid, Steve. You know what you’re talking about, I’ve heard you.”
Steve snorts like Eddie said something funny. “Try telling that to all my college rejection letters and my dad’s crumbling expectations of his only son. I’m sure they could find a million ways to explain just how…how worthless I am. That I’m a burden or…or a stain.”—those last sentences sound like echoes, if Eddie cares to explore it enough. Like they come from a different, more expectant mouth. Steve continues, “How am I even supposed to get a mediocre job? Just feels like I’m too nothing for anything out there. I don’t even know how I’m gonna pay you back, Eddie. Shit, I just shouldn’t accept. I have no idea how I’m supposed to get back up from all this garbage—I—I’m such a fucking loser now. I don’t even have anything going on anymore.”
Eddie furrows his eyebrows, not sure which part of any of that to unpack. Instead, he goes with, “You’ve got sports, Stevie. Surely you can figure something out with that. I’ve seen you perform, man, you’re fucking phenomenal.”
“My brain’s too fucked up now to play,” Steve quietly admits, “too many concussions. Coaches say I’m too befuddled to make heads or tails of where my targets are. Sports are over for me. I literally have nothing.” He blows out another wet, shaky breath. “So, I’m just saying, I’m sorry if I can’t make this up to you.”
“Steve,” Eddie says firmly, “look at me.”
At the demand, he’s met with Steve’s sad, hazel eyes. Clogged with discontent and miserableness he never thought he’d see out of a guy like Steve. Every part of him wants to reach out, cradle Steve’s face in his hands, wipe away his tears, caress his injuries with a tenderness he’s sure Steve has long forgotten. A part of him wants to hold Steve forever, no sign of letting go.
Heart in his stomach, shattered yet beating, he speaks as softly as he possibly can manage. “You owe me nothing, Steve. You don’t owe me your best. You don’t owe me your money. You don’t owe me payback or…or a job on your back. There’s nothing that I want from you, I promise. But if you want to give me something…how about just being my friend, huh? Just sit down with me at lunch, share the food I brought, give me as much of a conversation as you want, and just…just let yourself be cared about.
“That’s what I’ll ask of you. If you feel the need to give me something, give me friendship. That’s it. Nothing more than that. Anything else that arises in the future, we worry about then. Bridges waiting to be crossed later, y’know? That’s doable, right? Just being a friend.”
Steve nods in slow understanding. “You wanna be friends with me?” He asks in a whisper. “You know that I’m not the best company, right? I’m…I’m stubborn and I’m bitchy and I—I know sometimes that I don’t use my brain half the time and I just say shit before I really think about it. And I…I’ve been a jerk and I’m—I’m sort of bullshit, Eddie. Is that really something you want in your life?”
Eddie merely shrugs. “You think I don’t have my own flaws? Everybody’s got shit. All of us have baggage. You’re just a teenager, as am I, and we’re still figuring shit out. At least you’re aware, right? Means you can try and…and be more thoughtful about what you do, how you act. And, besides, stop giving me reasons to leave you alone. I want to be your friend. I’ll say it from here to fucking Mars, man.” He raps his fingers against the table, darts his eyes to that sandwich. There’s not really a good way to keep drilling the want of it all into Steve’s head. So, finally, he relents. Gives Steve the step away that he wants. “Go ahead and eat, Steve. I’ll bring you a PB&J tomorrow, yeah? You like grape or strawberry jelly?”
A lapse of silence. Wherein they stare at each other. Two things work their way onto Steve’s face. Adamant protests that, in turn, are squashed and cornered into becoming stubborn acceptance. Jeez, Eddie can’t help but think, what’s it gonna take to get this guy to realize that people can care about him?
“Mm…strawberry, please,” Steve finally decides.
He simply nods. Looks out the window to the courtyard. Cafeteria white noise and Steve’s soft chewing surrounding him. The light hits him just as a cloud begins to move, yellow sunlight, warm and new. It marks the beginning of something unexpected, good, Eddie believes. “I think you’re a good guy, by the way,” he murmurs, “you probably don’t believe me now, but you will one day. Swear on it.”

Can I ask Yandere Miguel with an S/o who isn’t interested in him at all, but who’s in love with his brother Gabriel?
Half-Way to True Love
You don't think this was supposed to be a friendly platonic lunch.
The more you ate the very expensive food at the expensive table with the expensive view, smelling his expensive cologne across the table, the slower you chewed in nervousness and realization. Has he been trying to impress you the whole time?
You finished your mouthful of nicely flavored and smooth mashed potatoes and looked up at Miguel. He was already staring down at you with that look in his eyes. Love. Something you didn't feel for him but you knew he felt for you. You tried to ignore your mind and attempted to convince yourself it couldn't be what you thought it was.
"How's the food?"
You nod silently and put down your fork to pick up your glass of champagne. "It's pretty good. I like it a lot." His shoulders relax and he finally cuts his first piece of steak. "That's good. The first time I came here, I knew it would be a great place for a date."
Date echoed through your head. Your face immediately dropped into one of disappointment. Miguel has honestly been pushing you to the edge for longer than a month. Constant pleas and begs to be with you in ways you didn't enjoy and even though this was one of his most tamest attempts, this was enough to get you to snap. "Miguel." He looked up at you and saw your face, his own dropping at your reaction.
"Why did you bring me here?" His face also set into one of stone as he put down his fork and knife. "Well, I wanted to do something nice for the both of us. I know both of us are equally tired from the constant piles of work we have to finish at Alchemax, I know you juggle a lot of tasks after work and you could definitely use a break like me. So, I took it upon myself to bring you here as a way-"
You look both ways around the restaurant to make sure no one was watching before leaning over to hiss at him quietly, yet the most angry you've been this entire week. "I told you a million fucking time's I'm not into you, Miguel!! I keep telling you constantly, I. don't. want. you. I don't want to date you, I don't want your money, I don't want your time, I don't want any fucking thing from you." You pick up your purse and furiously dig around for your wallet so you can hopefully just pay and leave. "You're so fucking lucky I don't toss my plate in your fucking face, Jesus."
As surprised he was of your outburst, he knew every reason and then some for why you don't want to be with him. "Why do you want Gabriel?" You look up at him in confusion and frustration. "I'm not doing this with you right now." Where the hell is your wallet??? "Why do you want my brother? What does he have that I don't? I have everything he doesn't, but you continue running to him like he's the best thing you could ever ask for."
"He's the 'best thing I could ever ask for' because he doesn't try to trick me into dating him, doesn't follow me when I leave work, doesn't stalk me, doesn't interrogate me on every single action I make and doesn't annoy the shit out of me."
You give up once you realize Miguel might have stolen it again. He does this every time he takes you to lunch so you don't find a way to leave. Not without talking to him first. "Give me my wallet." He purses his lips. "No." "This is why."
"Please, just let me-" "You've done enough. Just please give me my wallet before I scream."
He shakes his head. "You wouldn't." You raise your eyebrows.
A silence is born. Just the sound of soft clattering from forks meeting plates fills the air. The soft music does nothing to calm you.
Finally, Miguel sighs and takes it out of his pocket and sets it on the table. As soon as you grab it, he sets his hand over yours.
You look up at him and he gives you a desperate look.
".......have a good night."
The cycle is bound to repeat tomorrow.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can we get reader being harassed by some guy in an alleyway and hotch is walking by with the team (perhaps going to get drinks after wrapping up a case) AND HE LIKE STEPS IN AND THREATENS THE GUY?? MAYBE EVEN FLASHES HIS BADGE OR SM. Basically I'm thirsty for some protective!hotch <3
You're reminded of how unpredictable life can be when you're yanked backwards unexpectedly, tugged into the darkness of a shadowed alley between two buildings. Five seconds before you'd been thinking about dinner, and now you're not sure you'll live to see another meal.
"Cash," The man grunts, his mouth pressed to your ear as his arm cuts tight around your neck, "I need cash."
"My- my bag," You whimper, frozen stiff in fear and rendered useless, "I- I don't have much, but you- you can take it."
He throws you forwards, ripping your bag off of your shoulder in one fluid motion. He rifles through it while you relearn the art of breathing, but before he can pull your measly collection of bills from the inside pocket of your wallet, there's a gun over your shoulder pointed at his head.
For a moment, you're so dazed that you honestly think you might be holding it. But you don't have a gun, and your wrist doesn't have the dark, wiry hair on it that you see beneath a grey sleeve of whoever's got the weapon.
"Drop the purse, and the knife." A voice booms through the alleyway, deep and firm. If it was directed at you, you'd spook like a horse, and your assailant looks properly terrified.
"It's just a little cash, man," Your attacker tries, "I- I know her! She's my girlfriend."
Your savior knows he's lying before you shake your head vigorously, but you do it anyways, because sitting there and doing nothing feels wrong.
"You've already assaulted someone in front of a federal agent, don't make it worse for yourself by lying about it, too. You're lucky I don't have my cuffs with me or I'd haul you into the back of my SUV and take you down to the station right now. Instead, you're going to drop the purse, and the weapon, and run as fast as you can, because the more time you sit there and let me look at you, the better my chances are of describing you to a sketch artist and placing a warrant out for your arrest."
By the middle of the man's speech, your attacker is trembling just as much as you are. He drops your bag and his knife on command, barely avoiding tripping over the edge of the gutter drain as he flees the scene.
As soon as the gun isn't necessary anymore, the man behind you stashes it in a holster, but you can't see, your back feels permanently adhered to the wall you'd backed up against.
"You're okay," The man assures you, and his voice is much more soothing at a softer tone. He bends to gather your purse, tucking a tube of chapstick back into its confines before holding it out as a peace offering to you.
"He's gone," He promises, ducking down where your eyes are stuck to peer worriedly at you. He has a handsome face, but it's pinched in concern, big brown eyes dripping with care, "And I will put that warrant out for his arrest. Are you alright? Did he hurt you?"
"No," You breathe, still pressed to the wall even as you shake your head, "No, he- Thank you, I- I don't know what I would have done without you."
"I usually show up to these things a little late," He grimaces, dropping your purse back down to his side and holding out an empty hand instead, "Can I help you get where you were going?"
"Home." You mutter, "I was- I was going home. After work."
"I can drive you there, if you'd like." He offers, pleased when you reach out with a shaky hand to take his own, "Or we can walk, whichever you prefer. I just want to make sure nothing else happens."
"Um, I- I can pay for a ride. Here," You take your purse back, tugging a bill out that you're lucky to still possess, "If- it's just down the street, if you really don't mind."
"Keep it," He pushes your hand back towards your purse, "I just stopped a guy from taking your money, I'm not gonna do the same. My car's right outside, okay? Let me help you there. And- uh," He rifles through his jacket, "I wasn't lying about being an agent." He showcases a black-covered badge, Supervisory Special Agent Aaron Hotchner written in bold lettering beneath his name, "You'll be safe with me."
"Okay," You nod, accepting the hand that he holds your arm with to ease you off of the wall and onto your shaky legs, "Uh, thank you, Agent- Hotchner."
"No need." He murmurs, eyes scanning the crowd to make sure there's no sign of your assailant, "Let's just get you home safe, honey."

cw: this is selfship-coded. reader has a job and is on call for it. reader and izuku are married with kids. cocomelon exists in this universe.
being on call for work can sometimes be the bane of your existence. while you now have the luxury of home call more often than not these days, and the calls are fewer and further between, every so often there's an emergency, and you find yourself zipping through your home to find your keys and wallet and stuff them into your purse before jumping into your car to drive straight to the hospital.
tonight, izuku is home with you, and his attention shifts from the television where he's holding your baby son in his lap and helping him sing along to cocomelon to you. you murmur something out loud but at low volume about not being able to find your work id badge and without moving, izuku scans the room and spots it hanging off of the chair of the dining room table. he quickly uses blackwhip to get to it without moving.
"got it right here, baby," he offers, cheerful to be helping.
your eyes light up as you see it and then you rush over to meet where he dangles it in the air, but as you do so, your keys not completely shoved into your hospital scrubs end up falling out of your pocket. you bend over to pick it up but he gets to that before you too; however before he hands it to you, he pulls the tendril of energy back towards him and inspects it carefully.
"wait, what's this?"
squinting, you can tell he's looking at your newest addition to your key ring, and you already can guess he's about to start commenting.
"is that... a tiny knife?" he asks, in genuine surprise. incredulous, he looks at you, and you reply with a small scoff.
"it's for self defense!" you find yourself already slighted. izuku looks at you and furrows his eyebrows, then tilts his head gently to the side.
"... this knife is literally the size of my thumb, honey."
"yeah, but it's stealthy!"
izuku's lips press into a thin line, in the way you can tell he cannot believe you're being serious with him right now.
"and it's useless? what are you defending yourself against with this? ants?"
he adjusts your son to tuck him in his other arm, who also now looks at you with bright green confused eyes as though he is already siding with your husband. a traitor sucking his thumb. izuku places the knife in his palm for scale.
"this is so useless," he repeats to himself, appalled. your face warms.
"izuku, stop judging me."
he sighs.
"i'm not judging you, i just am trying to understand what a tiny knife will do to protect you."
"it's a weapon!" you defend yourself, furrowing your eyebrows.
"why do you need weapons when you have me?" izuku replies, and you're flummoxed by how confident he is.
"you are not there 24/7."
"i could be," he repeats. you exhale loudly through your nostrils, tired of the nonsense.
"midoriya, give me my keys."
he does hand you the keys, but now he's up and following you.
"who's making you feel unsafe? tell me. you don't need a tiny knife, baby, just talk to me."
he attempts to make you talk in that annoying persistent way of his, up until he's outside of your car window knocking with a pout on his face, then waving goodbye.
you roll down your windows and give him an exasperated look.
"maybe i thought it was cute. i feel very safe, and especially so because of you, okay?" you give in. he smiles, and you lean in and kiss him and your son both, and he grins.
although there's a very good chance your anxious, sweet, protective husband will be calling you more than once tonight, just in case your tiny knife isn't enough.

Hi! I requested that fic about gum earlier and honestly? It was absolutely gorgeous! If you were still writing fiction, maybe you might be interested in my idea?
Some kind of fluff about how Leon shows his care in minor details (which obviously are not such for him). For example, the reader always walks on the inside of the sidewalk when they are together, or the side of Leon's bed is closer to the door. And when he makes you tea or coffee, of course he always takes a small sip to make sure that it won't be too hot for the reader. Maybe you have ideas for something similar?
Tumblr media
thank you very much for the ask!!!! hope you enjoy <3
content themes: leon's love language is a mix of quality time and acts of service
an absolute gentleman, albeit awkward. he tries to show his love and care as casually and subtle as possible. he doesn’t like a whole lot of attention when he does things, a simple “thank you.” will do
ensures your safety. his line of work has him paranoid. makes sure you’re on the inside of the sidewalk away from the road. if you’re bending over to reach for something under a table or cabinet, he places a hand over the edge so you don’t hit your head when you’re straightening up. If you’re walking through a crowd or tight space, he likes to have a gentle hand on your shoulder blade to guide you
opens the door for you. when you say thank you, leon scratches his head and looks away, muttering a “sure thing.” under his breath
likes to offer a hand whenever you need help. whether it be finding that missing ingredient you absolutely need for a recipe that you know is somewhere in the house or just plain old car maintenance, he’s your guy
he’s not a very talkative guy, but a great listener. is always there to hear you out on your rants. he likes to ask you about your day or “how’s that __ thing going?” just to get you talking
remembers small things about you. your favorite color, favorite food, what you like and what you don’t in general. it can even be a small “i remember you saying that.” during a conversation
thoroughly prepared for any aches or pains you might have. before he knew you, the only things he carried on him were his phone, wallet, and keys. now, travel sized containers of pain meds and random bandaids are always shoved in his pant pockets. if he sees any signs of discomfort (such as a headache), he casually hands you some tylenol and water without saying anything. he doesn’t want you to feel bad in any capacity
enjoys sharing things. food, a sip of his coffee, chapstick, etc.
would absolutely gift you small weapons for you to protect yourself with. pocketknives, switchblades, tasers, stuff like that. he’ll teach you a thing or two in knife safety

Tag yourself, what you bring when you go out:
Bard: Alongside the necessities, you always bring either a musical instrument and/or a full makeup set. You never know when a party might start! Your bag is either $2 or $200. You make it work either way. Essentials? eh, if they're in there, they're in there.
Barbarian: phone wallet keys. Pants have pockets for a reason. If you're feeling spicy, you'll have a multi tool on your Keychain
Cleric: At LEAST one first aid kit, two lip balms snacks and drinks, bug spray and sunscreen for you freinds who forgot to put it on. Your purse weighs as much as a neutron star, but at least it's cute!
Druid: same as cleric, but you, instead of a purse, use one of those huge reusable grocery bags. More emphasis on snacks than the first aid kit (someone else will probably have that coveted, right?) But you might also have some loose dog treats in the bottom of your bag, so pay attention when snacking.
Fighter: You carry a backpack or over-the-shoulder duffel, but your phone wallet and other essentials are kept in your pockets because it's easier to access. What do you keep in your bag? Well, at least one knife and assorted tools and emergency supplies. You keep on forgetting to put in that first aid kit, but then you'd probably need to take out that 75 piece screwdriver kit, which, tbh is more useful in more situations.
Rainger: Look, you HAVE a bag, or... had one... you just leave it at home more often than you remember it. Look, you don't really need your phone when you're on a hike, right? And the trail mix in your pocket should be enough, too. Or you have a fanny pack that is more akin to a benign tumor. There is no in between.
Rogue: Just.... so many pockets. Like, sewing extra pockets into the inside of your jacket. Like "How did you fit that sub sandwich inside of there" pockets. Like you somehow have all of the tools you need for any reason on your person at any time without a bag amount of pocket. When you're fully suited up, your clothes work as a weighted blanket. It's honestly impressive and slightly terrifying.
Paladin: Like.... a bag?? Over the shoulder with RFID protection. Nothing too fancy either, phone, wallet, keys. Snacks and a small tube of sunscreen and maybe a hand warmer in the winter. Just get the job done, if you need something more you'll take it when you need it.
Wizard: You got the backpack on sale. That's what matters to you. Never mind how it makes your back hurt or that it's falling to pieces. It holds your books and laptop and.... ah, hm, everything else you need. Oh! It does have a cool wallet compartment... just let me... oh, it's so hard to get to give me one second... really, I do have the cash for this coffee. I swear one... oh, there goes my thesaurus.
Warlock: bags are meant as a fashion statement over their utility. Yeah, I can only fit my phone or my wallet in it, but I look good doing it, so what does it matter. Black is always in season, and so are chunky boots and spiked collars. Well it's not like you'll be going out without your freinds, you might as well have them hold your things, they honestly shouldn't trust you with your own credit cards anyway so it's a win-win
Sorcerer: You have one of those electronic bags that fallows you, and you've never looked back. Yes, it might be risky. Yes, taking a full luggage bag everywhere is a bit excessive. But if it does get stolen, the glitter bomb inside will make everything worth it. Hm? Where do you keep essentials? Oh, front pants pocket and brest pocket nbd.

Suptober Day 12: Harvest Festival
The hunt is an easy one. Calling it a vamp nest would be an exaggeration, and Dean takes the two of them out without breaking a sweat. He thinks about calling Dad and asking if he's missing something.
Then he figures Dad wouldn't answer anyway.
He heads back to the motel alone. On the way, he passes Main St. It's completely closed with hay bales stacked in the street to block anything but foot traffic. There's a huge sign in faded oranges, browns, and reds declaring the start of the town's harvest festival. Tacked to the bottom are fliers from a bunch of local businesses, and one in particular catches his eye. It's for a place called Milton's that claims to have the best pies in the state.
He parks in the nearest empty spot and hoofs it back. The entire street is filled with people, mostly families, who are enjoying each other's company as much as they're enjoying the booths. Dean tries not to look at them too closely.
The bakery's booth is easy enough to find; he just has to follow the trail of people with half-eaten baked goods. When he gets to the front of the line, the woman behind the table freezes. She has fire red hair pulled back in a ponytail and big brown eyes that widen in surprise. Her customer service smile is still plastered on, and after an awkward, stuttering moment, she says, "Hi, how can I help you?"
She throws a look over her shoulder at the man who's slicing a new pie at the back of the booth.
"Uh." Weirdly enough, none of Dean's alarm bells are going off. It's a weird interaction, and he should be running the other direction, but... But he really wants some pie. "You got pumpkin?"
She nods eagerly. "Of course." To the other man, she says, "Cas, can you bring me a slice of pumpkin?"
Without looking up, Cas says, "I'm a little busy, Anna."
More urgently and through clenched teeth, Anna says, "Cas."
With a put upon sigh, Cas looks up, and it's like deja vu. As soon as he sees Dean, he freezes. His ice blue eyes dart to Anna then back to Dean. He drops the knife, scrambles for one of the pre-packed slices, and comes over to hand it to Dean.
Neither of them say anything while Dean takes out his wallet to pay. He even drops a couple of bucks in the tip jar before he starts back toward where he parked.
He's almost made it to the car when he hears someone calling his name. When he turns around, Cas is jogging after him. Dean slips his hand into his pocket so he can feel his switchblade.
"How do you know my name?" he asks.
Cas stops. Clearly, Dean's apprehension is obvious.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to--" Cas worries his lip. Then like it's some kind of joke, he raises his hands and says, "Be not afraid."
Dean flips the switchblade open but keeps it close so that the people driving by (probably) won't notice it. "Listen, buddy. I asked you a question, so start talking."
"Okay, okay." The real concern on Cas's face makes Dean relax a little. No monster's going to be scared of a little blade. "Anna and I are human. We are. We just haven't always been."
"Then what were you before you were human?"
"You're not going to believe me."
"Try me."
"Angels," Cas blurts out.
Dean laughs. It's a little manic, but man, the guy is actually crazy. "Angels aren't real."
Cas hasn't lowered his hands, but he takes a step closer. "Your name is Dean Winchester. Your younger brother is Sam. Your father is John. He raised you both to be hunters after your mother, Mary, died."
"How the hell do you know all that?" Dean bumps against the Impala. He hadn't even realized he was backing up.
"Heaven has plans for you and your brother. Awful plans."
"And what? You're telling me out of the goodness of your heart?"
"When Anna and I fell, we told ourselves we wouldn't get involved with any of it. We didn't expect you to show up at our booth, and it seemed cruel not to warn you." Cas finally lowers his hands. "I'll leave you alone now. I'm sorry." Awkwardly, he turns and starts back toward the festival.
The guy's crazy. Maybe he knows other hunters, and that's how he knows about the Winchesters. Maybe he's some kind of monster with amnesia that thinks it human. Whatever the case may be, there's no reason for Dean to do anything but climb into the Impala and leave.
"Fuck," he grunts. Then louder, "Hey, Cas!"
Cas turns around tentatively, but there's a hopeful quirk to his eyebrow.
"You said this whole heaven thing included Sammy?" Dean asks.
"Yes."
Dean sighs. He looks back at the road that leads to his motel. He could be packed up and heading out of town in less than half an hour. Cas hasn't moved.
Finally, against his better judgement, Dean says, "Could you and Anna use some help packing your booth up?"

Being third born after two boys, Y/N always felt like she had big shoes to fill. Despite her best efforts to impress the man, she never really formed a bond with John. Her next role model was Dean, who became more of a father to her than John ever was or could be.
Until her eleventh birthday, Dean did her hair into pigtails every day, partly because he hadn't learned to do any other hairstyle but mostly because he thought it was the cutest on her. He'd pack her and Sam's lunch with snacks he'd bought from vending machines and even pretend to take her on hunts because he knew she wanted to be exactly like him.
When she wasn't learning about monsters and guns with Dean, she spent time with Sam. He'd help her with her homework or play board and card games. They have as much in common as Y/N and Dean. Neither Sam nor Y/N got along with John, and neither remember their mothers.
Y/N's mother was a woman John met in Nebraska three years after the boy's mom died. The affair only lasted a night, but to his surprise, he heard from her again six months later with the news that they had a baby girl on the way. John was shocked and heartbroken. He couldn't bear the thought of bringing another child into the life of hunting.
John kept his distance, adamant that Y/N would be better off without him, and when another three months of silence went by, he figured that Y/N's mother came around to see it his way. Unfortunately, her pregnancy was complicated, as was the birth, and it turned out that having Y/N is what killed her.
When John got the call, he had half a mind to let the state take custody of little Y/N. Indeed, they would provide her with a better life than he could. John decided to meet her at least, and when he laid eyes on her perfect little face, he couldn't bring himself to abandon her.
Y/N was barely sixteen when Sam left for college. While she was proud of him for putting himself first, it broke her heart for him to go the way he did. She missed him more and more every day, often keeping Dean up at night with her sniffling and crying. After a while, he would get into bed next to her when the tears started and sing Hey Jude while playing with her hair to help her fall asleep. That went on for another six months before she finally started to fall asleep without crying.
For her seventeenth birthday, Dean came across a necklace he'd wanted to get for her since Sam left. From his wallet, he took out the only picture he had of the sibling trio, representing the single moment of their life where John treated them like regular kids, and using his pocket knife, he carved around their heads and bodies to match the exact size of the locket, smiling proudly at himself when it fit perfectly.
Now at eighteen, she stands next to the Impala while Dean lugs their bags out, drops them into the trunk, and slams it shut. He heads for the driver's door but stops when he realizes Y/N hasn't opened hers yet. Eyebrows raised, he twirls a finger in the air as if to say, 'Let's get a move on.'
"Are you ever gonna teach me how to drive, Dean?" she asks. "I mean, you've got to, you know?"
"No, I don't. Get in," Dean says. She does so with a huff. Dean checks the mirrors before backing out of their parking spot. Turning to Y/N, he says, "Besides, as long as I'm around, you don't need to," but softens his face into a smile when he looks at her. "Cause there's no way in Hell I'll ever let you drive my car."
Y/N lets out a soft chuckle. "It doesn't have to be this car, Dean!" She rolls the window down, letting the cool breeze hit her face. "What happens if we get separated and I'm being chased by… I don't know, something that has super speed, and my only way back to you is to steal a car and -"
"Stop. First of all, you should know that I'd never put you in that kind of danger," Dean says, disgusted by the mere thought. He lets out a long sigh. "I'll teach you," he says, looking at her gleaming smile. He tries his damnedest to see her for the adult she's becoming, but he only sees the happy baby in pull-ups he used to feed marshmallows and jello to on a motel room floor. "Just… not yet, okay?"
She scoffs, "Most people learn to drive when they're only fifteen. I mean, you took me to freaking Vegas with a fake ID for my birthday, for fuck's sake!"
"I said not yet, Y/N!" he says, shooting her the 'dad look' he's been perfecting since she was four.
"Fine," she grumbles. She clasps her hands, "So I was looking through news articles, and there seem to be vamps in the next town. Should we be on that?"
Dean clears his throat and needlessly adjusts the rear-view mirror. "Actually, kiddo, we're on something else right now." He keeps his head straight but glances at her out of the corner of his eyes. Whispering, he says, "We're gonna go get Sammy."
Y/N's eyes widen as her head whips to look at him. "What?"
He keeps his eyes on the road, "yeah, uh, with Dad missing... we could use the help," he says, gripping the steering wheel tighter.
"But Sam's at college!" Y/N scoffs, "he wanted out!"
"He abandoned us!" he shouts, shaking his head at himself when he notices her shoulders tense. Her eyes peer into her lap, where her hands lie folded. “Look Y/N/N, I just… I can't shake this awful feeling that something is wrong." He waits for a response from her, but she only nods with thin lips. She tunes him out and focuses on the wind hitting the window. "I gotta make sure they're okay," he says softly.
Over the years, Y/N has learned to trust Dean's intuition, but right now, it just feels like he's being selfish. She opts to stay quiet, even if it makes a long drive longer.
Tumblr media
Y/N jolts awake at the sound of the trunk slamming shut. She takes a moment for her eyes to adjust to the darkness. She doesn't see Dean next to her, so she scans her surroundings through squinted eyes, hoping for a clue about her whereabouts. She finds a gas station receipt in her lap and flips it over to see the scribbles of Dean's handwriting telling her to 'stay put or else.' She rolls her eyes, crumpling it into a ball to throw it into the backseat.
She hears the voices of two familiar men, one of whom she hasn't heard in two years. Her heart races, and she fumbles with the seat belt, trying to unhook it with shaky hands. She jumps out of the car and turns in time to see Dean leaning on the back of the Impala.
"It's a law school interview," Sam says, "and it's my whole future on a plate," he glares.
"Law school?" Dean asks with a smirk. Y/N walks over to stand next to Dean. He shoots a quick, acknowledging glance her way. Sam's eyes shift between Dean and Y/N, softening when they land on Y/N, "so we got a deal or not?" he asks flatly.
Dean says nothing but lightly nods his head. Y/N runs towards Sam, nearly knocking him over with a hug.
"Y/N/N," he smiles. Pulling her even closer to him, he wraps his arms tightly around her back and kisses the top of her head. "I missed you," he whispers.
"I missed you, too," she says, her eyes welling up with tears. Sam looks at Dean just in time to see him press his lips together with an 'I told you so' in his eyes. Sam shakes his head, squinting at Dean just before he lets go of Y/N.
"Kay, I gotta put a bag together," he sighs, "I'll be right back."
He turns to head for the door, and Y/N doesn't take her eyes off him until he disappears into the building. She blinks her eyes and turns to face Dean. He pushes himself off the back of the car and silently heads for the driver seat.
Tumblr media
Sam and Y/N sit in the car at a gas station while Dean heads for snacks. Sam opens his door but quickly looks over his shoulder to check on Y/N. This is when he notices the box of tapes sitting next to her. Intrigued, he shifts in the chair and asks her to hand them to him. Y/N is hesitant because it's hard to say how Dean would react, and she's always hated being in the middle of their fights but does so anyway. Sam rests his tongue between his lips as he takes the box from Y/N. Stretching his legs out of the car, he rests the box in his lap to filter through them.
"Hey," Dean says from behind the Impala, his mouth wrapped around a candy bar, "either of you want breakfast?" he asks, holding a soda and a bag of chips.
Y/N waits for Sam to answer first. "No, thanks," he says, glancing Dean's way momentarily.
"I do," Y/N smiles.
"So how'd you pay for that stuff? Three of you still running credit card scams?" Sam says, going back to looking through the cassettes.
"Yeah, well, hunting ain't exactly a pro ball career," Dean says, putting the gas nozzle back into the pump.
Y/N chimes in, "Besides, all we do is apply," she shrugs, "it's not our fault they send us the cards."
"Yeah? And what names did you write on the applications this time?" he asks, swinging his legs back inside the car and closing the door behind him.
"Uh, Burt Aframian," Y/N answers. Dean gets into the seat, handing Y/N the drink and chips. "Thank you," she chirps.
"And his son Hector," Dean adds, "scored two cards out of the deal."
"Sounds about right. I swear, man. You've gotta update your cassette tape collection."
Dean frowns, nearly offended. "Why?"
"Well, for one, they're cassette tapes, and two," Sam holds one up, "Black Sabbath? Motorhead?" he says, dropping them to grab another, "Metallica?" he laughs, "It's the greatest hits of mullet rock," he says as Dean rips the Metallica tape from his hand with a glare.
"Well, house rules, Sammy." Dean pops the tape into the player with a tight smile, "driver picks the music, shotgun shuts their cake-hole," he says, dropping the empty case into the box. "Isn't that right, Y/N?" he smirks into the rear-view mirror and smiles when he sees her roll her eyes.
"You know, Sammy is a chubby twelve-year-old," Sam scolds, "it's Sam, okay?"
Turning the volume up, Dean cocks his head to the side, "sorry. I can't hear you. The music's too loud," he says with a slight chuckle.
Tumblr media
Crashing a crime scene where police are still investigating is just another Saturday with Dean for Y/N, but seeing Sam's eyes widen at the box of Dean's fake IDs calls attention to how out of the norm this life is. Dean makes wise-ass comments to the cops, as usual, and Sam stomps on Dean's foot. Dean responds by smacking Sam's head as they bicker on the way back to the car, but Y/N can't help but grin from ear to ear.
Even when her brothers are arguing, Y/N couldn't possibly be happier. Today is her first hunt with both of her brothers and the first time in far too long since the three of them had been together for any reason.
They make their way to find Amy, who they learn is the girlfriend of the victim from listening to the cops on the bridge. They stop her while she's putting up missing posters, and after lying about being distant relatives of her boyfriend, they ask if she'd be willing to answer some questions to find him.
… "It's kind of this local legend," Amy's friend says after a few minutes of chatting. Massaging her thumb with her other hand, she continues, "This one girl? She got murdered out on Centennial, like decades ago." Dean glances over at Sam and Y/N, who listen intently, "Well, supposedly, she's still out there. She hitchhikes, and whoever picks her up? Well, they disappear forever."
Tumblr media
At a local library, Dean searches the archive page for any murders on Centennial Highway with no results. Sam shoves Dean's chair, and when it rolls back, he scoots his chair to the computer to take over, earning him a slap from Dean. After replacing 'murder' with 'suicide,' a news article pops up.
"This was 1981. Constance Welch, twenty-four years old, jumps off Sylvania Bridge, drowns in the river," Sam reads.
"Does it say why she did it?" Y/N asks, scooting her chair closer to Sam to try and read the screen.
"Yeah," Sam says.
"What?" Dean says with raised eyebrows.
"An hour before they found her, she calls 911. Apparently, her two little kids are in the bathtub. She leaves them alone for a minute, and when she comes back, they aren't breathing." Sam lets out a breath, "both die," he says in a whisper.
The air grows thick around them, and Y/N frowns. "That's terrible," she says, shaking her head.
"'Our babies were gone,'" Sam reads, "'and Constance just couldn't bear it,' said husband Joseph Welch."
"Hmm," Dean points to the picture on the screen, "that bridge look familiar to you?"
Tumblr media
They hit the bridge at nightfall. Crickets sing to water drumming against the rocks as it rushes under their feet. The clouds hang low in the sky, giving the air around them a haze.
"So," Dean says, peering over the bridge at the water, "this is where Constance took the swan dive," he says, leaning against the rail next to Y/N.
"So you think Dad would have been here?" Sam asks in disbelief, looking over at Dean.
"Well, he's chasing the same story, and we're chasing him," Dean shrugs, turning to walk down the bridge.
Sam turns to follow. "Okay, so now what?" he says, forcing a breath through his nose. Y/N walks right next to him, still scared to let him out of her sight.
"Now we keep digging until we find him. Might take a while," Dean grumbles.
Sam stops walking, "Dean," he says, raising his hands before dropping them. "I told you. I've gotta be back by Monday."
"Monday," Dean says, pivoting to make grueling eye contact with Sam, but only turns his body enough that he's still facing the bridge's railing. "Right," he says, shaking a finger, "the interview." The bridge creaks under him as he turns the rest of the way.
"Yeah," Sam nods.
"Yeah, I forgot. You're really serious about this, aren't you?" Dean says, shifting his weight between his feet. "You think you're just going to become some lawyer? Marry your girl?" Dean asks, the animosity growing with each word.
Sam shrugs, "maybe. Why not?"
Dean's voice roughens, "Does Jessica know the truth about you? I mean, does she know the things you've done?"
Sam takes a few threatening steps toward Dean, "No, and she's not ever going to know," he scowls.
"Well, that's healthy," Dean sneers. "You can pretend all you want, Sammy, but sooner or later, you're going to have to face up to who you really are," he says, turning around to continue walking.
Sam huffs, "Who's that?"
"You're one of us," Dean shrugs, a hand gesturing towards Y/N.
"Hey! Leave me out of this," Y/N grumbles from ahead.
"No," Sam says, speed walking towards Dean, "I'm not like you," he says, turning around as he stops in front of Dean. "This is not going to be my life."
Dean keeps his jaw tight. "Well, you have a responsibility to..."
Y/N feels the tension rising and tries to plead with them to stop arguing, but they ignore her. "Guys!" she shouts again.
"To Dad? And his crusade?" Sam scoffs. "If it weren't for pictures, I wouldn't even know what Mom looks like! And what difference would it make? Even if we do find the thing that killed her," he shakes his head, "Mom's gone. And she isn't coming back."
Dean grips Sam's shirt and swings him around and against the bridge's railing with a clunk at Sam's weight against it.
Y/N flips around and runs to their side, "Dean, what are you doing? Are you crazy?" She panics. But Dean continues to ignore her as he glares at Sam.
After a long, breathless pause, Y/N shouts again, "Dean!"
The misty air is still between them, and even the wind seems too frightened to move. It's as if the world is put on pause.
Dean's eyebrows raise, and he keeps a firm grip on Sam's shirt. Under his breath, he says, "Don't talk about her like that."
He throws Sam's jacket from his hands and takes a few stabilizing steps backward in one movement. Y/N runs to check on Sam, who shakes her off with an "I'm fine" that sounds muffled compared to the pounding of her heart. A few tears escape her when she looks over at Dean walking away from them, but she doesn't realize she's crying until the taste of salt hits her lips.
Her eyes return to Sam, shaking her head in disgust that Dean would treat him like that. She knew it had been rough for Dean since Sam left for college, but hell, it's been hard on her, too, and she's not throwing anyone against the side of a bridge!
Dean halts, “Sam. Y/N!” he calls. Y/N turns with a full-body glare, but her eyes widen when she sees a woman in a long, white dress standing on the bridge's railing. The woman looks over at them, and Y/N can see the resemblance to the picture of Constance. The woman's hair and dress sway in the wind, and she keeps her eyes on them as she allows herself to drop from the ledge.
With a grunt, Sam rushes to the railing to look over it for her, Dean and Y/N not far behind him.
"Where'd she go?" Dean barks.
Breathless, Sam pushes out an "I don't know."
The roar of the Impala's engine turning on startles them, their bodies whipping around just in time to see the headlights flick on.
"What the-," Dean says.
"Who's driving your car?" Y/N asks.
Without taking his eyes off of the car, Dean pulls his keys from his pocket and jingles them, stealing Sam and Y/N's attention to them in unison. The engine revs, drawing back their wide eyes to the Impala. The tires squeal as the car begins to speed towards them.
"Y/N, go! Go!" Dean says with a hand on each of his siblings, spinning them around to run in the opposite direction. Dean presses his hand firmly on Y/N's back as they run, keeping himself between her and the car. They run as fast as they can until Dean can feel the Impala's breath on his ankles, and he guides them towards the bridge's railing.
Y/N's heart feels like a brick in her chest, weighing her down at the thought of jumping over. "I can't," she says in a breath, and all in a split second, she feels like her feet are cemented into the bridge's planks as Sam jumps over. "No!" she screams as Dean grips onto her arm, pulling them both over the bridge.
Sam hangs from the ledge of the bridge, shouting for Y/N as her screams are washed out with a big splash. "Y/N!" he calls again from the back of his throat, climbing up the bridge to get on his knees. He looks over the bridge, scanning for Y/N and Dean, calling out when he sees his brother, "Dean! You alright?"
"I'm super," Dean grumbles with an outstretched thumbs up. Lying on his back, half submerged in the muddy water.
"I can't see Y/N! Where's Y/N?" Sam panics, and when the words hit Dean's ears, he springs to his feet in a second. He whirls around in a circle as he searches for her.
"Y/N!" Dean shouts, wiping mud from his face. He paces around, "Y/N, where are you?" he yells, half-expecting her to pop out from behind a bush to scare him.
Tumblr media
The world spins around him for a moment, utterly void of sound aside from a ringing in his ears as Dean tries to comprehend what is happening. He closes his eyes tight, shaking his head to clear away the fog that covers him. They open onto the water, catching the moon's glimmer reflecting off something. He runs towards it, hopping from rock to rock until he finds Y/N's broken locket stuck in algae. Dean picks it up with shaky hands, recalling how her face lit up when he first gave it to her. She'd be devastated to see its state now. Fear spills down him in an icy chill.
His head swivels around in search of her. Tears, that he refuses to let fall, poke at his eyes when he sees her lying face down in the water, a bloody rock next to her.
“Y/N!” He shouts, rushing to her. He kneels to pull her out of the water by her shoulder, turning her over so that her back rests against his knee. "Y/N!" he yells again, and when she doesn't respond, he grabs her by the waist and hoists her over his shoulder. He grunts, shifting his weight before jogging for the shore. "Sam! I got her!"
"Dean! Is she okay?" He calls out as he sprints down the side of the hill to catch up to them. The brothers reach the shore simultaneously, and Dean drops to his knees to gently set Y/N on the ground in front of him, Sam following suit.
"Come on, be okay, be okay, be okay, be okay," Dean pleads softly, placing two fingers on her neck. His heart is beating so hard that he can't tell if it's her pulse he's feeling or his own. "Sam, I can't feel anything," he says. Dropping an ear to her mouth, he adds, "And I don't think she's breathing."
"Call 911," Sam demands, ripping his jacket off to tie around Y/N's bleeding head wound. He quickly inspects the rest of her body for any bleeding before placing a hand on her chest. Looking up at Dean, who stands frozen, Sam puts his free hand on Dean's shoulder, "now, Dean!" he shouts, shoving him.
Sam tilts Y/N's head back, checking again for a pulse, a breath, a twitch, a shudder, anything that meant he wouldn't have to perform CPR on his baby sister. He places his hands on her chest, one over the other, pausing in case her heart miraculously started again, but all he feels under his palms is the stillness of Y/N's wet and cold chest.
Sam begins chest compressions, and the tears he'd been holding back rush out uncontrollably when he feels her ribs break under his palms. It makes him want to pull away, but he forces himself to continue. Dean watches in wide-eyed horror as he gives the 911 operator their location when asked, keeping his free hand pressed against his forehead.
"Anything?" he shakily shouts at Sam after what feels like hours. Sam ignores him, counting out loud until he hits thirty again. He stops compressions to blow a shuddering breath into Y/N's mouth, watching her chest rise and fall before delivering another. "Hello! Is anybody on the way? My sister is dying here!" Dean shouts into the phone, but all that meets his ears is static.
"Dean," Sam says with a heavy breath, beginning compressions again. "You gotta take over," he says between breaths.
Without question, Dean drops his phone to the ground as he falls to his knees next to her, "come on, Y/N," he pleads, ignoring the burning in his knees as he places his hands together on top of Sam's. Sam leaves his hands under Dean's for just one compression before pulling away.
"Okay, that's ten. You've got twenty more before breaths," Sam says before they count out loud together with every push into Y/N's chest.
Dean is growing tired by his third round of compressions, but the sirens in the distance electrify him, giving him the energy he needs to continue.
His face scrunches up as he musters the emotional and physical strength to keep going. Sam hurries to his feet, "don't stop, Dean, you're doing great!" he says with a palm at him.
"Don't stop," Dean repeats mindlessly, "don't stop."
Sprinting towards the paramedics, Sam waves his arms, shouting, "Down here! We're down here!" before he knows it, a group of professionals sprint down the hill, the gurney in tow. One takes a story from Sam as one tries to pull Dean away so the other two can take over caring for Y/N.
"No, I can't stop!" he cries, which grabs Sam's attention, "don't stop," he nearly whispers, hands pumping into Y/N's chest.
Sam rushes over and lowers himself to Dean's level. "Dean, let go. It's okay, they'll take it from here," he says, grabbing onto Dean's hands to pull him off of Y/N. They watch the paramedics in shock as they cut the shirt, bra, and pants off of Y/N, inspecting her skin. The first responders put what look like stickers with wires attached to them onto her chest and pull out the AED, telling everyone to stand clear before delivering a shock with a beep. Then, there was a pause and the silence that follows is deafening. Nothing. They check for a pulse and call clear again, shocking her. Then, nothing. Again.
Tumblr media
In the hospital's hallway, Dean tries to tune out the surround sound of constant beeping. His elbows rest on his scraped and bloody knees with his head held in his hands. He rocks back and forth, battling with himself. He sheds tears both out of fear for his sister's well-being and of guilt that he did the very thing he promised her he wouldn't: put her in danger.
The clacking of Sam's shoes pulls Dean from his homemade mental Hell. Dean lifts his head, quickly wiping his eyes before grabbing the cafeteria coffee. Sam's familiar smell of motel soap and deodorant washes away the torturous smell of hand sanitizer.
"Thanks," Dean mutters, taking a sip of the coffee before placing it next to him on the cold tile floor.
Sam's eyes are red and puffy. Dean struggles to comprehend how Sam doesn't even try to hide the tears coming down. He often admires his brothers ability to wear his heart on his sleeve, though he'd never admit it. He wonders who he's being 'strong' for in this moment because it's certainly not himself.
Clearing his throat, Sam pulls his pants up slightly at the thighs before sitting on the bench next to Dean. He glances up at the ceiling momentarily, waiting for the announcement to end before asking, "Any news yet?"
Dean shakes his head. "No," he says in a raspy voice, forcing his eyes to look up and down the hall. "Excuse me," he says, standing to interrupt a nurse before she can enter a different room. "Would you mind helping us find whoever we need to talk to for an update on room 221?" he asks, gesturing to the door he hasn't been able to even look at since arriving.
Her eyes flutter to Sam, then the door, and back to Dean before she somberly nods. "Of course," she says, setting her pen back onto the clipboard as she turns to head in the direction she came.
Dean wants to return to his seat, but his body feels like an anchor. He sucks in a sharp breath. His shoulders tighten into his neck and with weak arms his hands fall to his hips. He hangs his head, clenching his teeth and pulling his face to suppress the tears. Sam jumps up to Stand with Dean, placing a hand tightly on his shoulder.
"She'll be alright," Sam says, not fully believing himself, "she's a Winchester; she has to be."
Dean quickly straightens himself out because damn it, he's the one that's supposed to be taking care of his younger siblings - not the other way around.
"Sam and Dean Winchester?" a deep voice echoes the hall and they whirl around to greet the doctor. Dean quickly slaps the tears from his face. "I'm Dr. Ferguson," he says, holding his arm up to shake hands with Sam, then Dean. "Let's go somewhere more private to talk."
"We're good here," Dean spits.
"Very well," the doctor sighs, looking down the hall behind him. He shuffles them closer to the wall and out of the traffic flow. "Well, while we were able to restart her heart, I'm afraid your sister has sustained a substantial injury to the head," he says, "the trauma caused the tissue around her brain to swell quite rapidly, and well, we have her on a ventilator, but," he lets out a breath, "we haven't seen as much progress as we were hoping for. She's technically in a coma right now, but we hope to see her come out of it in the coming weeks."
"Weeks?" Dean bellows.
"Yes, I'm afraid that's standard recovery time for an injury of this magnitude. Although, we'd be having an entirely different conversation if not for your quick thinking in the field," he says with a tight-lipped smile, eyes jumping from Dean's to Sam's, "it's a long road to recovery, but this is a good start."
"And what happens if she doesn't wake up?" Sam asks.
"We will do everything in our power to ensure that doesn't happen," the doctor nods.
"Thanks, doc," Sam croaks. "Can - can we see her?" he stutters.
"Of course," he says, pushing the door open with his fingertips, "go on in," he says.
Sam immediately notices Dean's hesitancy when they exchange a glance, so he nods before taking a few steps into the room. He covers his mouth to stifle a sob when he sees his little sister with a tube down her throat and one in her nose. When he's close enough, he reaches for her hand and sits in the chair beside her, startled by the sound of the door shutting. Dean slowly enters the room, but keeps his distance.
Dean feels like the air is void of oxygen and tells himself to pull it together enough to stand by her bed. "Hey kiddo," Dean says to Y/N with a shaky breath. "God, please be okay," he says, forcing a smile as he grips onto her hand.
Tumblr media
The two sit with Y/N for days, only leaving for bathroom trips and snack runs, but when one goes, the other stays, and when one is napping, the other is awake. Dean has grown slightly more self-composed but is still anxious as they stay by her side, even when the nurses come to deliver medications, chart vitals, or empty her catheter.
"Hey, Dean," Sam says, clearing his throat.
"Yeah," he replies, keeping his eyes on Y/N.
Sam looks down into his hands, "about my interview-"
"Wait, what?" Dean says, cutting him off, "you're still gonna leave after all this?" he shouts through a clenched jaw. The chair scoots back in a screech as he quickly brings himself to his feet, "you don't wanna be here when she wakes up?" he asks, aggressively gesturing at Y/N.
"Dean, we don't even know if she'll wake up," Sam quivers.
"Man, you are a piece of work," Dean shouts, shaking his head.
"If you would've let me finish," Sam growls with narrow eyes, "I was going to say that I called earlier… to reschedule it," he sighs, looking back at Y/N, "they were very understanding of the situation."
"Oh," Dean says, turning on his heels to face away from Sam. He swipes a hand down his face, shaking his head when his eyes open to the white walls of the hospital's room. "Look, man, I'm sorry," he says, palms open and facing Sam. "This just has me on edge."
Taking a few steps towards him, Sam holds back the urge to get nasty with Dean, telling him he's not the only one feeling 'on edge' about their sister's condition. Instead, he raises his palms and softens his face, "Me too. Believe me."
Tumblr media
By Thursday, Y/N had graduated from a ventilator to an oxygen mask. Though still needing the feeding tube, she's shown glimpses here and there of the Y/N they know and love, but overall, she struggles to remain conscious. The doctors are calling it a 'Minimally Conscious State' and "completely normal with this type of recovery."
On Saturday, Sam heads out for food from a local restaurant at Dean's request - something about them having good pies - but Sam has a sneaking suspicion that Dean needs some time alone with Y/N, and Sam could use the fresh air anyway.
Sitting in the chair beside her bed, Dean holds one of Y/N's hands in both of his, bringing it up to his lips and kissing the back of her hand. "I'm so sorry I failed you, Y/N," he cries. "I should have been protecting you," he whispers, letting the tears fall freely now, "but instead of doing that, I got you into this mess."
Looking up at Y/N's face, he swears he sees a tear slip down her cheek. Despite being convinced he's imagining it, he reflexively draws his hand to wipe her tear away, gasping when it comes back wet. His heart races as he gently stands to get beside her in the bed. "Shh," he coos, wrapping his arm around her.
His eyes fall shut, and he's transported back in time to the almost seven-month period where she would only fall asleep if Dean were right there in bed next to her. Through tears and voice cracks, he sings Hey Jude in a whisper, occasionally reaching over to wipe her tears away.
"I love you so much," he whispers. "I don't know how to live without you," he says, his tears turning into sobs. "Please wake up," he cries, arm wrapped tightly around her, "I promise I'll teach you how to drive if you just please wake up."

I feel like my life has been spiraling out of control as late. Like I have no path. I was hoping you get put me where I’m supposed to be. Really put me in my place for good. Whether I like it or not. Sometimes we just have to gift into destiny and become exactly what we have been fighting the whole time ? You know ?
I am impressed… I wouldn't have thought that you little arrogant piece of shit would be capable of so much self-reflection… You're a nuisance to your entire environment. And your contribution to society lies in committing shoplifting and extorting protection money from people who are clearly inferior to you.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, there are also people who are not inferior to you. People who are clearly superior to you. And with the help of these people, it will be possible to put you in your rightful place.
Miserable faggots, you think as the two guys in full leather get on the train. And wimps who buy tickets. Of course, you always travel without paying. But the sissies seem to have well-filled wallets. Actually, you should have got off long ago. But you never let your victims out of your sight. You're already looking forward to seeing them whimpering on their knees. Maybe you'll even let them suck your cock. These faggots can do that better than any hooker.
As they get out, you jump through the closing door at the last second. The two say goodbye on the platform with an intense French kiss. Hey, that'll be easier than stealing a lollipop from a kid. Your combat boots are a bit noisy on the tiled floor of the pedestrian tunnel. Sneakers would have been better now. But the leather fag in front of you doesn't seem to notice. You're almost at him and pull out your knife. And at that moment, your mouth is covered from behind with a leather glove.
"Son, do you really want to mess with the big boys?" you hear from behind. Your supposed victim turns around with a grin, takes a small bottle from the inside pocket of his creaking leather jacket, unscrews it and holds it under your nose. After that, you know nothing more…
Damn, how long have you been away? You have no memory. But judging by the length of your beard and hair, it's been a few days since you first got down on your knees in front of your masters and sucked their cocks… Wait a minute! You did what? And where the hell are you here? This is a windowless cellar hole with nothing but a toilet and a mattress. And why are you naked except for a chastity belt? And why do you know that this is a chastity belt? And why the hell does that dildo feel so good in your ass? You'd like to jerk off. But you can't reach your cock, so you have to play with your nipples. Shit, since when are they pierced?
You hear footsteps outside. You have to get out of here. You get ready. The door opens, one of the two leather gods is standing in the doorway. You want to jump at his neck. But your anklet stops you and you hit the floor. "Who's a bad boy?" asks your master. And holds a flask under your nose.
Tumblr media
That was all months ago. You are loyal to your masters. Whether you're cleaning the toilets or serving as a piss toilet, you perform your duties devotedly. And if you've been good, you get to lick the boots of one of your masters. I hope you have found your destiny!

Chapter 4 is up!
Tagging: @lemonlyman-dotcom and @kiwichaeng
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[6:22pm] Why do smoke detector batteries only die in the middle of the night?
T.K. is chowing down on some of Paul’s chili when his phone buzzes in his pocket. His dad is regaling the table with another of his New York exploits, this one about a rather scandalous call at a night club. T.K. had been off that night, but he’s heard the story so many times he could probably tell it word for word.
“An unbelievable amount of glitter,” his dad says as T.K. slips his phone out. As soon as he sees the text he smiles.
T.K.
[6:23pm] Are you speaking from personal experience?
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[6:24pm] Yes. Two o’clock in the morning last night. Even though I change them every six months. Took me fifteen minutes to figure out which one. So tell me firefighter, why?
T.K.
[6:25pm] Bad news. Smoke detectors are sons of bitches. They’re like Santa. They see you when you’re sleeping. They know when you’re awake. And they choose to use that information for evil.
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[6:26pm] That seems like a major design flaw for a life saving device.
“Why are you smiling at your crotch?” Marjan asks from across the table.
T.K. slides his phone back into his pocket. “No reason.”
“Nobody smiles at their crotch for no reason,” Judd says, wiping at his mouth with a napkin. “You talking to a guy?”
“I wasn’t talking to anybody,” T.K. says, scooping up another spoonful of chili. It’s true. He was texting. Not talking. He’s a professional at telling the truth without actually telling it.
“I bet it’s that guy from the other night,” Paul says, a smirk on his face.
“Ooh, the hot guy with the six pack?” Mateo asks.
“Son, if you are engaged in sexting I’m going to ask you not to do it at the dinner table,” Owen says, clearly flirting with the line of dad mode and captain mode.
“I’m not sexting,” T.K. says with a roll of his eyes.
“But it is the guy from the other night?” Paul says. “Come on. You can tell us.”
“Is this what it’s like to have siblings?” T.K. asks. “Kind of glad you and Mom never got around to having more kids, Dad.”
“You’re welcome?” his dad says in a slightly bemused voice.
“Listen if you’re gonna text during dinner you’re gonna owe us some answers,” Judd says. “Least you can do for not paying attention.”
“Fine!” T.K. says. “Yes. It is the guy from the other night. His name is Carlos and he’s APD. Happy?”
“Carlos what?” Marjan asks.
T.K. stares at her. “What do you mean Carlos what?”
“What’s his last name?” she says. When he doesn’t answer she sets down her spoon. “You do know his last name, right?”
“I—“
“Are you sure he’s real?” Mateo asks, adding more cheese to his chili. “Could be a catfish situation.”
“Catfish?” Owen asks, looking confused. “You think T.K. is talking to a fish that lives in muddy water?”
Judd shakes his head. “I’ll explain it later Cap.”
“I am not being catfished,” T.K. says. “He’s a real guy. A nice guy,” he adds.
“Ooooh you’re smitten,” Paul says with a grin.
“I am not smitten!” T.K. cries.
He does not share the part where he poured his heart out the other night through texts to Carlos. Apparently his New York sob story needed to be released and a somewhat faceless, hot ass phone man seemed like an appropriate person to do it with. He’s not sure if his therapist will be thrilled or horrified.
“Just be careful what you send him,” Marjan cautions. “The internet is forever.”
“Thanks Mom,” he shoots back.
“Marjan is right,” his dad says. “I am all for you sowing your oats or Netflix and chilling or whatever you kids are calling it these days. But you should be careful.”
“One time,” Mateo says around a mouthful, “my cousin thought he was going to some girl’s place, but when he got there, it was actually a dude named Knife. He stole my cousin’s wallet and his cell phone.”
“You know sometimes I really worry about you probie,” Paul says, eyes full of genuine concern.
Mateo’s story takes the heat off of T.K. and the team spends the rest of dinner ragging on him instead.
But T.K. is still thinking about Marjan’s words hours later when he’s laying in his bunk staring at the ceiling. Everyone else is asleep; he can hear Judd’s chainsaw snores, Mateo’s sleep mumbles, and Paul’s deep breathing. Crazy how quickly those sounds have become familiar to him.
He rolls over and grabs his phone off the nightstand, turning down the brightness so it doesn’t wake anyone else up. He gnaws at his lip for a second before sending another text off to Carlos.
T.K.
[10:41pm] You’re real, right?
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[10:43pm] As opposed to…?
T.K.
[10:44pm] This isn’t a Catfish situation? You’re not really a woman living in Boise who’s going to steal my credit card information?
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[10:45pm] You got me. You’re my third mark this year. What gave it away?
T.K. snorts then looks around quickly to make sure he hasn’t woken anyone up. His fingers fly as he types back.
T.K.
[10:46pm] Prove it.
Office Hottie- Carlos
[10:47pm] Prove what? That I’m real? How?
T.K.
[10:47pm] Idk. Send a picture of you holding a fork.
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[10:47pm] …a fork?
T.K.
[10:48pm] Four tines? Used for food? Popular with mermaids?
There’s no response and T.K. sets the phone down on his chest. He’s stupid. This is stupid. What kind of stupid person asks someone who’s basically a stranger to send a picture of themselves with a fork at this time of night?
T.K. winces. Weirdest booty call ever.
His phone vibrates and when he lifts it up he has to clap a hand over his mouth to stifle his laughter.
Carlos has sent a selfie of him holding a fork. His eyes are squinty, like he’s barely awake, and there’s a hint of scruff on his face. His hair is all mussed and he looks so adorable that T.K. feels a very strong urge to kiss him.
He’s also shirtless. Which makes T.K. feel a very strong urge to put his mouth other places.
T.K.
[10:55pm] Do you ever wear a shirt?
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[10:55pm] I was in bed. This is how I sleep. And you’re welcome that I got up to prove my legitimacy to you.
T.K.
[10:55pm] Thanks. Do you want me to prove mine?
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[10:56pm] No need.
T.K.
[10:57pm] No need? What does that mean?
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[10:57pm] I know you’re real.
T.K. thinks for a minute and then his mouth falls open.
T.K.
[10:58pm] Did you background check me officer?!
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[10:58pm] …I plead the fifth….
T.K.
[10:59pm] You did!
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[11:00pm] Okay fine, I did. I wanted to know more about you.
Warmth blooms in his chest, but then is immediately doused like a bucket of cold water has been thrown on it. If Carlos ran a background check…
T.K.
[11:01pm] So…you know about the shooting then?
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[11:01pm] Yeah. And the incident at the bar.
Shit. He’d really rather Carlos not know about the bar. He wishes nobody knew about the bar. Having his dad pick him up from jail had been a low point in their first few months in Austin. It had taken weeks for his split lip to heal. At least he hadn’t been charged. He hadn’t realized there was still a record of some kind though.
T.K.
[11:02pm] Great. So you’ve seen the highlight reel of all my finest Austin moments.
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[11:02pm] I actually already knew about the shooting. It was kind of big news. I just didn’t realize it was you.
T.K.
[11:03pm] Yep. That’s me. Remembered for my near death experience and getting my ass kicked.
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[11:03pm] I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have looked.
T.K.
[11:03pm] It’s okay. Like you said, you already knew about the shooting. And it’s my fault the bar thing is on record anyway. It was really stupid.
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[11:03pm] Everybody makes mistakes T.K.
T.K.
[11:04pm] Well I already spilled my guts to you about New York. So you know I’ve made more than a few.
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[11:04pm] So have I. You just don’t know them yet.
Why does that small bit of empathetic understanding make his heart ache? His therapist would probably say something about how he always feels like he’s too much for people to handle and Carlos choosing kindness instead of running away at the first signs of T.K.’s baggage.
T.K.
[11:05pm] Do you think it’s weird that we never met before the other day? Since we’re both first responders?
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[11:05pm] Not really. Austin’s a big city.
T.K. rotates his phone in his hand a few times, getting his nerve up.
T.K.
[11:06pm] Would you want to hang out? Sometime?
Officer Hottie- Carlos
[11:09pm] Like a date?
The alarm blares and T.K. immediately shoots upward, pulling on his boots and turnout pants as everyone else does the same. The fire is a big one and they don’t get back to the station until four am. By then it’s way too late to text Carlos back and honestly, he’s too exhausted to even form words. He drops into his bunk and falls immediately asleep.

Seven & Lia Rose
Tumblr media
I've never talked about my @infamous-if OC but when a picrew comes around that sparks inspiration, who am I to deny it? 🤷🏾‍♀️😂
Stage Name: Lia Rose
Real Name: Anaya Jefferson
Band: Clear Nights
Band Sound: Usually a mix of R&B, hip-hop, and rock. Sometimes they'll experiment with other genres though.
Tumblr media
Have a snippet from this tiny burst of inspiration 🎊 😂
He'd had enough and couldn't stand being on the bus any longer. It was all too close, too tense, too much. All of it was a reminder of what they had and what they were and Seven was done. He needed to be outside of those suffocatingly close walls right then. Away from the root of his anger and his pain.
As he snatched his bag and notebook up, a small polaroid fell from his belongings and landed on the couch next to her. Seven quickly grabbed the photo and dashed off the bus but not before Anaya saw who was on it.
Seeing the photo brought that day at the arcade right back to the front of her mind. Band practice was over but Anaya wasn't ready to be alone at home yet so the two of them headed to the arcade together. After a few rounds of games and some grub, she lit up when she saw the new photo booth and excitedly dragged him in there with her. They got into position as the timer began counting down.
3...2...1 - tongues out - SNAP!
3...2...1 - back to back with arms crossed - SNAP!
3...2...1 - peace signs - SNAP!
The screen flashed a last photo warning before a 5 second timer started. Time seemed to slow around them as Seven turned to face her. Her infectious smile made him smile a little more as she reached up and cupped his cheek. The timer reached 1 and Anaya pressed her lips to his, just as the flash went off. She opened her eyes to see him glossy eyed and blushing from the kiss. Their silence stretched on before they both finally heard the printer stop whirring and the photos drop into the bin outside the curtain.
With a big grin, she released him and opened the curtain to grab the pics. Snapping out of his momentary daze finally, he grabbed them from her extended hand as she headed off to the prize counter without him. He took out his pocket knife and carefully cut that photo from the others and slid it into his wallet before taking off to join her. She could have every prize they won from this day but this? This one thing was his to keep.

5 time Karamatsu protected his brothers, 1 times they protected him
So... I know how to write, and since I haven't been posting many fanarts here, I decided to copy paste my story from AO3.
Okay, so, for warnings: A little bit of violence, but nothing extreme No ships
-- for time skip or things like that
" " for speaking
' ' for thinking
---------------------------
1. Osomatsu
It was an ordinary day, Karamatsu was just walking, when he saw his big brother walking with 2 guys, tho he couldn't recognize them. He decided to go toward his aniki, even if his brothers normally said he wasn't welcomed close them when they were with another people, he figured the other wouldn't mind, since he wasn't normally with another people. As he got close, he saw as one of them was with their hands inside the pockets, with a knife in their palms, while the other hand was in his big brother's neck, making it look like they were friends.
As Karamatsu carefully got close, he heard what they were saying "Hey, friend, are you sure you don't have any money for us? I mean, if you really don't have, you wouldn't mind giving us your wallet to prove, am I right?" Karamatsu went rigid. Were these people trying to MUG Osomatsu? What should he do? "I already said I don't walk with my wallet" he said, with a annoyed, and hint of scared, voice. Karamatsu knew his brother would be able to get out, if it wasn't for the fact that the other had a knife. Before he could think of how to get the other out of this situation, the other mugger spoke "and we already said we doubt it" and everything happened too fast, he saw the knife going in his aniki's arm and acted instinticvely, pushing the 2 boys fowards and punching both their faces, before grabbing Osomatsu's arm, the one that wasn't hurt, and started running.
"Hey! Come back here! You're going to pay for this!" One of them shouted.
After 5 minutes of running without stopping, he looked back to see if they lost the other 2. Seeing no trace of them, he stopped running to take a breath. After that, he looked over his brother "Osomatsu, are you okay? Is your arm hurting much?" He started lifting the sleeve of the other as he spoke, then he saw it was only a scratch, barely dropping blood. And he sighed 'good thing he had his sleeve, otherwise he would be bleeding more'
"I'm fine, Kara. But thanks, for getting me out of there. But just so you know, I could've DEFINITELY take them out!" He said while he rubbed under his nose. Kara just rolled his eyes and then, with the fake deep voice, he said "Of course you could, brother, but I was merely assisting as for you to not dirty your hands in such a way like a fight" "It huuurts" Oso said while grabing his stomach, with a wider grin
"Let's go home, Aniki, so I can patch you up"
"Aww, how cute, my lil brother will take care of me"
2. Choromatsu
They were in a Nyan-chan concert, because, apparently, "Karamatsu is the only one that could appreciate this kind of thing with me" as Choro said. Karamatsu should not have drink so much juice before the show, because now he needed to go to the bathroomhalfway the place they wanted to go.
He said Choro could get going if he wanted to, that he would be able to find him later, but the other insisted in waiting outside the bathroom. "Thank you, brother"
As Karamatsu exited the bathroom, he noticed a comotion and that his brother wasn't close to the door frame anymore. So, fearing Choro would be in the middle of the comotion, he walked there.
And he was glad he did, because his brother was in the ground, trying to collect his stuff from the floor, with an embaressed face. "What a nerd, you really won't pay for looking over my sweet girlfriend's breast, huh?!! No wonder you don't have one yourself, I bet you're going to these disgusting concerts from idols and dreams of doing things with them, don't you?"
Karamatsu wanted to punch the guy's face, because even if they were true, this was no reason for them to bully his lil bro, ans he doubted Choro would look for someone's GIRLFRIEND breast. He may be a perv, but he just looks at them at summer or in dirty magazines.
"Hey, answer me, damnit" the guy said while he stomped in a Nyan-chan limited poster, after kicking Choromatsu's arm in the process. Karamatsu saw hid little brother had tears in the corner of his eyes. "Oww, hes crying, pathetic"
With that, something snapped inside Karamatsu and he gave a punch in the guy's cheek, and as the guy stumbled, he gave a kick in his stomach "Don't touch my brother, you stupid piece of shit. He's better than you'll ever be, at least he's not a pathetic bully, who needs to put others down to feel better." He said with a murderous face, with a voice Choromatsu never heard him speaking with, while he helped his brother in his feet, also catching their stuff.
"Next time, don't be so pitiful, just because you are ashamed, because im sure you like this kind of thing too, am I right?" In their way to the concert, he looked over Choromatsu "Are you okay, Choro?" He asked in his normal voice, a soft one, concern in his voice, nothing like the voice he used to speak with the other guy "I'm fine, thanks, Karamatsu-niisan" he answered while he rubbed his eyes, as they had some tears yet
"Well, then I'm glad. If this type of thing happens again  tell me and big bro will protect you" he said with a big smile. Choro couldn't help but smile a little too "Yeah, I will, thanks again, Karamatsu-niisan"
It was one of the bests concerts they've been
3. Ichimatsu
He knew his purple brother didn't like him close, but he couldn't help watching him play with the cats with a little smile in his face, in the other side of the street, of course. He was so distracted, that he almost missed the dog going in his lottle brother's direction, as he saw that, he instinctively ran in the dog's direction, as to not let it attack the cats and, consequently, his brother.
He grabbed the dog with 2 arms, since he didn't want to hurt the dog either, sadly, this made the dog bite his arms "Ichimatsu, get the cats out of here" he shouted to his scared brother, that as Kamatsu ended shouting, grabbed the cats and ran to another alley.
As he stopped seeing his brother, he started paying attention to the dog in his hands "good boy, good boy" he tried to calm the dog, then he saw a person with a leash "Rex (I have no idea wich names dogs should have xD), there you are! I'm so sorry, sir, i dont know what got into him!" The person said as he put the leash in the dog's collar. "Is your arm okay?" "Yes, no problem" he said while getting up. He had to check on his brother "Are you sure? I can pay you some bandages if necessary" he turned for the stranger "I'm okay, but I will have to go now, but thanks you"
He ran in the direction he saw his brother going, and he saw him there. "Oh, thanks, you're okay!" Ichi was playing with his cat. Then he got up, looked where the dog has bitten his brother and stomped Karamatsu's feet "Idiot! Why did you do this?" He shouted while he did something unusual: hugging his big brother. "Ah, my dear brother, I'm sorry I distressed you, but I couldn't just look as one of my brothers was almost attacked by a dog, but fret not, as I'm not too hurt" he said, in a cool voice
"You don't need to protect me, I can take care of myself, and my cats" he said as he got out of the hug, his tone was harsh, but Karamatsu could see the guilty in his voice, since the other probebly believed it was his fault, considering the dog was most likely trying to attack the cats when the blue matsu got in the way. "I know that, but as your big brother, is my job to keep you and the other safe, brother"
Ichimatsu just stood there, then, after some seconds, offered him some cat food "Do you want to feed them with me?" He said, voice low, not meeting his gaze. "Ah, of course, thanks, Ichimatsu"
4. Jyushimatsu
His brother had asked to play with him in the park, how could he, Karamatsu Matsuno, refuse?? Thats why he's in the park with his brother, but not looking for his "Karamatsu girls and boys" as he said (lets be honest, we are all Karamatsu girls and boys). It was a really nice day, not so hot, but not cold, sunny with only one or two clouds, basically: perfect for Jyushimatsu baseball practice.
"MUSTLE MUSTLE, HUSTLE HUSTLE!" He heard his little brother while he watched him swing his baseball bat. Since it was a beautiful day, there was a lot of children and other people there too, so Kara asked Jyushi to take care as to not hit anyone.
Thinking about it, maybe the other parents should say that to their children and take care themselfs too, because the next thing Karamatsu knew, is that there was a ball going in Jyushimatsu's direction. Almost out of instinct, he braced his little brother "Careful, Jyushi!" He shouted as he was hit in the back of his head with a rather strong ball. He was almost sure he blacked out for a second or too, or more... ahem, because the next time he "woke up" he was in the ground, and he didn't remember the falling part.
"Niisan! Niisan! Wake up" he opened his eyes at the sound of distress in the yellow Matsu brother "I'm okay, my little Jyushimatsu, but more importantly, are YOU okay?" He asked as he got up, trying not to be bothered by the sudden headache 'I should probably see the doctor, again' "I'm okay, niisan, you protected me from that ball, so I wasn't hit" he said with a smile in his face "Is that so? Well, I'm glad you're okay then" he said while he messed with the younger's hair
"Niisan, let's go home, you don't look good" the other said with a worried look "No need, Jyushimatsu, I wouldn't dare to do such a thing when we JUST got here and my sweet little brother is still playing" he said as he got up and took the dirt out of his clothes "let's play, I can throw it to you" ignoring the headache he went to pick the ball and give the bat to the other "Are you sure, niisan?" Jyushimatsu said while picking the bat from the blue Matsu's hand "Yes, no need to worry, my little Jyushimatsu"
"Okay then! I'm ready, niisan!"
They stayed playing until almost dawn
5. Todomatsu
He was alone in that boring day. He was just walking, no destination in mind, and ended up close to Totty's workplace. He KNEW Totty hated them close to him when he was with his friends, but Karamatsu was his older brother, OF COURSE he would want to hang out a lil with his baby brother. So he saw Totty going out, saying buy to the girls of his work. As he began to aproach him, he saw 3 boys getting out of the cafe and in Todomatsu's direction.
He grinned to himself "time to mess a little with my brother" he thought as he began running to the other side, but as he aproached them, he saw them turn in a dark alley. Confused, he followed them as silently as he could, after all, it was weird for Todomatsu to go in a dark alley, seeing as he was afraid of the dark.
"Ne, Todomatsu, right? Who do you think you are?" On of the guys said "eh? What do you mean?" The pink boy said, genuinely confused "Drop the act, who do you think you are flirting with these girls? They are our! Do you hear me?". Karamatsu thought Totty would cry, but surprisinly, he grinned "Ah, it's only that? Ha! Do you think they would like to be with you? I mean, I AM cuter than you!"
Karamatsu would be proud of his baby brother for standing up for himself, if it wasn't for the hateful faces of the 3 boys "Is that so? Then maybe we should make sure youre not so 'cute' anymore, am I right, boys?" With that, Todomatsu's smile vanished "W-what do you mean?" His voice wavered with a hint of fear "He MEANT" one of the toughs started getting close to Todomatsu "we're going to beat you up, pinkie"
Ok, Karamatsu heard enough, no one, and he meant NO ONE threatened his brothers in his presence. He walked to the dark alley and with a fake deep voice "Oi! Whats going on here?" He asked, as the toughs turned to him "Ha? Who are you? Get lost before we beat you up too!"
It happened too fast, in one second one of the guys was already in the ground, blood in his nose and in Karamatsu's fist. In the same cold and scary voice he started talking "I asked" Karamatsu straightned his pose "WHAT is going on" he punched one of the boys in the stomach, as the guys tried to take him out "here" he made the other trip as the guy tried to run over him, and catched the hoodie of his jacket, lifting him up "answer me, were you planning to attack him?"
He throwed the guy in the wall "how pathetic, don't you think? 3 vs 1?" He let go of him, not before giving him a punch in the cheek "and yet, lost for one guy with the same face" he crouched down "how about you guys get lost before I beat you up more? Huh? How is that?"
"L-let's get out of here , guys, hes crazy"
Karamatsu sighned. He have always been the pacifist type, but his brother mattered more than this "Hey, Todomatsu, how are you?" He said while he helped the yougest to his feet "I-I'm fine. Thanks for h-helping me Karamatsu niisan" "No problem, do you want me to go home with you?" The other looked down a little "If it's not much trouble, please..." Karamatsu posed with a hand in his chest "It's never trouble to help one of my dearest brothers, and I say that from the bottom of my heart, brother" he said, while the pink Matsu rolled his eyes, not interupting this one time 'let him have it this time'
+1. Karamatsu (my love, i love him so much uwaaaa)
It was an ordinary day for Karamatsu. Well, other than the fact that he was walking alone, duo the fact that he just got in a fight with one of his brothers. He had woken up with a terrible headache, and it was already lunch, so his patience was kinda short, so when he went to the room and saw his GUITAR, of all things they could've break, his guitar was not one of them. Everyone loves to break Karamatsu's stuff, but EVERYONE knows his guitar is an exceptoon. So he kinda snapped, without wanting to hear them. Now that he cleared his head a little, he started feeling guilty. He knows they probably didn't mean it. 'I mean, c'mon, they may break my things, but they know my guitar mean too much, and is too expensive' he sighed.
He was just wandering, when he saw, he was in the park's bridge. He sighed again. He was NOT feeling like doing whatever he does. He was just so tired that day, and the stress didn't help. He took off the glass and started cleaning them, supporting his body, facing the water. As he was cleaning, he felt something in his face, than he just blacked out after that, the glasses forgotten there.
---------------
-at home :)-
"It's getting late... and Karamatsu didn't come back yet..." totty said, a unusual worry in his voice. "I'm sure he's fine, he just needs to calm down a little" Osomatsu said "Yeah, but Ichimatsu should apologise anyway, his guitar is his most precious thing, you know that." Choro said while eyeing the purple Matsu "It was an accident, when I tried to say sorry you saw how he reacted. I was not expecting the cat to go there and knock it on the floor" for others his voice was monotone, but his brothers knew there was guilty behind it "Even tho, I never seen him so mad, he never snaps at us, the only time I've seen him this mad was when some guys tried to mug me. I swear, he PUNCHED them, I never saw him punching anyone"
After 10 more minutes, Osomatsu got up "Okay, we have to go look for him, I mean, it's getting late". A chores of "Okay" could be heard, other than the youngest one "what if he come back?" "We'll leave a note" after this, they went out to find the second eldest.
----------------
-back to Karaboy- (ah, reminder: This part is going to have description of violence, when it stops I'll put another warning)
He woke up in an alley, with arms tied up in his back, but other than that, everything was... normal, other than the fact that he was in a dark alley, of course. "Well, look who's awake" at the sound of a voice, Karamatsu tried to get up, but it was hard duo his hands being tied together "Remember us?" Someone asked. No, he didn't remember, maybe if he looked at their faces.
His blood froze, there he saw those 2 muggers that tried to rob Osomatsu, but oh if it was only them, there was at least 3 more people there "You own us some money don't you think? Along with out faces" and with that, Karamatsu felt a sharp pain in his shoulder, where, aparently, the guy has kicked "Don't worry, we'll not hurt your face yet, we don't want it to be deformed as we see you cry abd beg for mercy" the man with another made him get in his knees, since he couldn't get up himself (pls dont sexualise this kinda of stuff)
"Pff, as if I'll ever beg for yours mercy, keep dreaming" he said with a sarcastic voice, still keeping his deep-fake voice. A "tch" was all Karamatsu heard in response, before losing all his air, all he saw waa a fist in his stomach. 'If I wasn't tied up, I could try to flee' he thought to himself, as he was finally able to catch his breath. He was NOT going to give them the satisfaction of seeing him begging for mercy. He could endure that, 'I mean, I've had worst' (ya'll know this line is about episode 5 right? Okay)
-------------
-Jyushimatsu now, for plots-
Jyushi was in the park (so he had no idea what happend at home, of course), and since it was almost night, he decided to go back home, but he stopped when he saw one of Karamatsu's beloved sunglasses. 'I mean, it could be from other person...' he thought, but he had a bad feeling about it. 'Just to be safe...' he then smelled it, and it was Karamatsu's scent. He became desesperated, after all, his niisan never just let go of his sunglasses, even if all their brothers said it was painful.
He began to run, looking for the blue Matsu, thinking something is wrong, and he had a bad feeling about it, that's when he heard a scream, that sounded awfully like Karamatsu.
He then began to run where the sound was coming from, bat and sunglasses in hand, in his way he found his brothers, that called for him asking about Karamatsu. He simply shouted a "Karamatsu-niisan needs help" and went back to running. Worry flashing in the others' faces, they just followed Jyushimatsu.
----------------
-Kara's turn~-
He could feel himself almost blacking out again, the pain too much. Then he jolted awake, as one of them kicked his chest so hard, he could feel something breaking 'It's better if I go to the hospital later'. "tsk, you really won't open your mouth unless for this painful talk right? Then let's try this" one of the guys said and picked a knife from his pocket "you know, this one is sharper than the one we used the other day, I mean, it's brand new" he said while crouching in front of Karamatsu.
"Let's see how you like this" the guy then stabbed the shoulder the other kicked, and Kara almost screamed, but he was able not to. His breath then became heavier. "Oh, looks like we're getting somewhere now, since you're not even talking anymore" he said, taking out the knife of the other's shoulder "Then let's try this" the guy then stabbed right where he had kicked previously, meaning it stabbed close to his broken rib, what made the pain worse, and this time Kara couldn't take it, and he screamed of pain. The guy then twisted the knife, making the pain unberable since it messed with his broken rib more, but the guy made sure he wouldn't stab any vital organ, so he could torture Karamatsu more.
After the guy took out the knife, the blue Matsu was starting to feel numb, everything hurting too much, but at the same time, he wasn't feeling anything. Before he blacked out, he could only see his brothers there, with horror in their faces.
(Idk if you noticed, I love angst, and I love Karaboy  thats why he needs to suffer, and then be comforted)
A gasp could be heard and before any of the 5 guys of the gang could look who made a sound, Osomatsu had already punched the guy with the knife, making the knife fly from his hand, ignoring the 2 that were behind him, knowing his brothers would take care of them.
And he was right, Jyushimatsu and Choromatsu have already taken care of the 2 that were ready to try to strike Osomatsu, Jyushimatsu hitting both of them with a strong swing of his bat, Choro punching the face of one of them that was in the ground, stronger than he had in his entire life, enough to draw blood of the other guy's face, but this didn't stop the green Matsu to beat him more and more, while the yellow kept swinging his bat at the other "One! Two! Strike!" He would shout as he was able to hit the guy.
"Todomatsu! Fast! Leave with Karamatsu to an hospital! He need help!" Osomatsu shouted as he positioned himself, since the guy he punched was getting up again "okay!" The pink Matsu shouted as he got close to Karamatsu with Ichimatsu. As they got closer, the 2 guys that were behind Kara tried to punch them, (I mean, let's be honest, both Ichi and Todo look weaker than the rest  but Todo goes to the gym, and Ichi has hate for the world, so :v) but it didn't work, as Ichimatsu blocked one of them and Todomatsu just dodged the other, followed by a punch of both of them in the guys' faces. "Todomatsu, help him, I can take care of these two" Ichi said while picking the knife the guys forgot in the floor "okay" the youngest said while rushing to Karamatsu's side and picking him.
When he finally got out of the aleey, he started searching in his cellphone for the neariest hospital. "hnn, Totty? Is that you?" He almost droped his phone at the scare "yes, it's me, Karamatsu-niisan, don't worry, the others are taking care of the guys who did this to you" he said as he started walking with Karamatsu to the hospital. "What? Are they hurt? Shouldn't we help them?" Karamatsu asked with a frown. Todomatsu sighed 'always caring about others before himself' "they're okay, niisan, I'm sure they won't kill the guys, so don't worry"
After some time, they finally reached the hospital, Karamatsu almost blacking out again "Help, please! My brother has been stabbed and I think he has some broken bones too!" Todomatsu urged the doctors to help his brother "Ah, again, Karamatsu? Quick, bring a scretcher!" (Idk if thats the right word, im sorry) one of the doctors shouted before Todomatsu could ask 'what do you mean again?'.
After one hour, more or less, his brothers called him (they went back home) and asked wich hospital they were in, asking if Karamatsu was okay, and if he was consious. Todomatsu said the doctor didn't let him in yet, but that Karamatsu gained concious when they were going to the hospital, and he heard a sigh "we're going there, wait a minute". And they did, after 10 minutes they were there, anxiously waiting for their brother's condition.
After half an hour, the doctor finally called them (guys, im sorry if its wrong this part, I dont know how hospitals work outsite my country xD) "Are you Matsuno Karamatsu's family?" The doctor asked while looking at the paper and their faces "yes, we are! Can we see him, please?" "Yes, you may come, but quietly, his head is at least not so bad as last time, but his ribs are broken, he may need to stay in the hospital for some time, since this time is not only his arm"
The brothers agreed, trying not to focus on the fact that Karamatsu has already been in the hospital with broken bones before and haven't told them (I still hate them for that :V).
The five of them entered the room, silently, to not disturb their hurt brother. As they entered, Karamatsu looked at them, with bandages all over his body "Hey, guys. What are you doing here?" Karamatsu asked. "What do you mean? We came to see you!" Osomatsu answered with a hint of anger in his voice, since his brother didn't think they would visit him in the hospital when he was obviously HURT.
"Oh, it's just that you guys normally don't care enough to show up haha" Karamatsu said, rubbing the back of his neck. All the brother felt guilty, because of how their brother was talking about himself. And maybe he had a reason to believe they didn't like him, even if it wasn't true. Ichimatsu, surprisingly enough, was the first to break the silence. "I'm sorry, Kus-Karamatsu - niisan." Shock adorned Karamatsu's face "What for, brother? You have nothing to be sorry, I only got hurt because of these not-so gentleman"
"What he, and also me, mean is, we're sorry for being terrible brothers, in a way that made you think we wouldn't care about your well being, Karamatsu-niisan" Todomatsu interjected.
"Me too, Karamatsu-niisan." Jyushimatsu said, covering his mouth with both his hands. Choromatsu sighed "I guess me too. I consider myself the most responsible one, and yet, I didn't see anything wrong with the way we treated you"
And finally, Osomatsu spoke "Me too, Kara. As the older one, I should've taken care of you better"
They heard a sniff and turned to see Karamatsu with his eyes watering. They all ran to get to him "I'm sorry, guys. It's just that, I-I was not expecting this!" Kara said while he rubbed his eyes with his arm. "Thank you. That really means a lot for me. I love you guys so much"
"And we love you too, Kara" Osomatsu said while he went to hug his brother. The rest coming soon after.
Even physically hurt, Kara couldn't be more happy. The last time he didn't have anyone, and his heart was shattered, but now, his family was with him, and they apologized. He couldn't help a smile.

HIIIII. DID ANYONE ORDER SOME BEN AND TARA CONTENT?? This won a poll like eons ago but I finally finished it!!! Just a little silly thing. Content warning for some language and a little spat with some meanies. I had his BR: SPIDERMAN design in mind :3c
Five years on the West Coast was nowhere near enough to make Tara feel homesick. She didn't jump at the opportunity to come back to New York, coming back to it left a bad taste in her mouth, but she could admit, the city had a charm to it when it was seen at night.
Her watch read twenty after ten. Her precious boyfriend was nowhere to be seen, like most nights. But something didn't sit right in her brain, and Tara was smart enough to trust her mind. Ben promised he'd be back by nine. So where the heck was he?
Tara in her signature red was illuminated by street lamps as she walked her way over to the Daily Grind, the place Ben was working at. It wasn't too far from their apartment, she was glad for that. She didn't have a clue where he could be, but surely the Grind would be a decent place to start? They had good coffee, anyway. What time did they close? Maybe she could get some before then.
Her ears picked up on something. Footsteps, the soft sound of crackling gravel.
Tara tried to focus in on them without daring a look behind her. One set of feet, no, maybe two. They came out of nowhere, when did they start to follow her?
Coffee could wait. She made an extra turn she didn't need. Then one more, checking to see if she was being trailed, or if her paranoia was getting the best of her. And as her luck would have it, she was right.
As always the brunette's feet are moving before her own brain does. Always her downfall. She turns around on her heel, looking back at the men tailing her with an unamused look. She has her hands on her hips, subconsciously puffing out her chest to appear more imposing. It doesn't work, of course. There's two of them. Even the scrawny one was still a head taller than her. The other guy was stronger than the first. They both wore baggy clothes, the hands on the bigger one were hiding in his hoodie pocket. A sure place to be keeping something.
"Can I help you boys?" Tara asked keeping calm.
The smaller one's smile was all teeth, and Tara was sure then that she wasn't going to trust them. His voice as he spoke was whiney and irritating, grating on her ears like nails on a chalkboard.
"Me an' my friend here are strapped f'r cash! We jus' need a couple bucks for a bottle of liquor at the shop around the bend."
Tara hesitated for a moment. The answer sounded genuine. Slowly, she responded. "...Sorry, would love to help, but I don't have anything to give you."
"Oh, we weren't askin'."
Figures she was right, curse the bleeding heart. Always trust your gut, that's what she always told herself.
Her eyes flickered to the bulkier man and the item he pulled out of his hoodie pocket that reflected the light of the street lamp behind Tara- a knife, of course it was a knife -then they traveled back to the shorter one, that smile from before the same, although somehow even more menacing. "We're just lookin' for the wallet, nothing else, and you're free to leave."
Tara stood her ground. "I told you, I don't even have my wallet. I just came out here looking for someone."
The blond cooed, "Couldn't find 'em, huh? Well, don't worry! We'll keep you safe, sugar!"
Tara's collar was violently yanked forward; she tripped over her feet, forced on her toe tips by her assailant. Her nose was pressed to his, she could smell the stale alcohol on his breath, and it made her stomach turn. "But it's gonna cost ya."
Now the blond holding her had the knife, and he was tracing the side of her cheek with the back of the blade. Instinctively, she tilted her head as far away as she could. It wasn't much. Her assailant could still easily cut open her face if she wasn't careful. "Our protection ain't free, so if you don't have a wallet, then we're jus' gonna have to use somethin' else."
Tara could fight. Maybe not win, but she could book it and race to somewhere safe before they knew what hit them. Scenes like this weren't unfamiliar. A quick kick between the legs was helpful enough. But that second guy... He was a problem. If he got a hand on Tara, it looked like he was strong enough to break her little noodle arm with just a flex. He was strong, but maybe she was faster. The Grind was probably closed by now, the apartment was still a couple blocks away. She'd lived in NYC before, but never the queens side. Tara couldn't think of anywhere else to go!..
A noise got her attention. A solid Thwump! of meat hitting the ground roughly. The blond holding Tara looked away for a split second, from over his shoulder she saw his accomplice in the road, unconscious.
"The fuck?"
He's barely allowed to finish before a glass bottle is thrown at his head. He drops Tara on the ground, folding into himself, cursing in pain, but he was still awake. He swung around violently, threatening open air with his knife, eyes flailing looking for whoever attacked him as Tara stumbled backwards and away, eyes glued to what was happening. Instinct told her to book it, but the show was too extreme. She wanted to see just what the hell was happening.
The thief kept cursing. Taunting whatever threat he was facing. That was when the hero showed himself, jumping out from the shadows of an alley to Tara's left, wailing on the blond with a clean sucker punch to his jaw, taking him out easily. The thief didn't stand a chance; the guy in scarlet red towered over the weasel, clearly just as strong as his unconscious friend, with coursing muscles stretching against a skin tight suit. It wasn't a bad sight. Not bad at all.
He was breathing heavy, he didn't make a move while he stood towering over the two lumps in the road. Even when Tara stood up, running over to the man known as Spiderman, he didn't so much as flinch when she threw her arms over his shoulders, her body melting against his in a half-assed hug.
"Oh, thank you, Spiderman! Surely, I would be a goner without your help!"
His head slowly turns to the side. Tara can't meet his eyes due to the mask, but she can feel his soft irritation and the skepticism underneath it all. "Don't tell me you came out here just to get my attention by getting yourself in trouble." He finally spoke.
"Of course not! I'm out here looking for someone, actually." The Spider begun to walk off, Tara followed close by. He was returning to the same alleyway he made his entrance from. "Maybe you'd know him? About yey-tall, blond hair. The most beautiful brown eyes."
"Not ringing a bell." She could hear the smirk in his voice.
Tara sighed, "That's a shame. Well, he's my BOYFRIEND, actually. And he PROMISED me he'd be back home at nine."
"Uh-huh." He made it to one side of the alley, twisting to rest his back against the brick. He crossed his arms over the spider symbol on his chest, listening to the civilian continue talking. "But, y'know. It's 10PM, and he's still not home. So he's broke his promise, and he's in very big trouble."
"How scary." Spiderman teased, and Tara frowned.
He suddenly jumped, using his superior strength and his climbing abilities to scale the wall opposite before Tara even realized. She let out a yelp of surprise, twisting her neck to watch him escape out of sight. "Hey– wait! I haven't even given you a proper "thank you", yet!"
"No need. It's my job to help."
It was like talking to a brick wall. Well, literally speaking, Tara was. His red suit was out of sight. Despite that, the brunette kept talking with the hero. "Aw, come on, you saved my life! I have to give you something in return!"
On the rooftop, the spider paused. He looked down at the tiny figure, still staring up, looking for him with wide eyes. Shaking his head, he uses his web fluid to gently lower himself yet again. He's upside down, her lips are level with his. He has ideas in mind, swinging like a mobile in a baby's crib, but he doesn't keep them all in mind for long. Instead he's asking the civilian; "What kind of something?"
She has a playful smile on her lips, the same smile he's fallen for time and time again, and he'll keep doing it. She comes a little closer, speaking easily. Her voice was sweet on his ear. "Oh, y'know, that kind of something all the superheroes want," Tara's fingers graze his mask, it takes everything in Ben not to shudder with delight. He loves her touch, loves feeling her tease his skin, but he can't show it yet. He's having too much fun.
She peels the mask down and up his face, allowing Tara to see the soft stubble around the hero's lips and freeing his nose with it. His lips are parted just a little bit, tempting her to break character too soon.
"And what about that boyfriend of yours, hmm?" He asks, not daring to look away from Tara for more than a second. It seems like any time he does, she always finds herself in trouble. A thief, purse snatcher, goddamn Kaine himself. "I'm sure he wouldn't want you acting like this around other men, would he?"
"I'm sure he wouldn't mind." Her thumb ghosts against lips, and he almost breaks. "Would you, Hun?"
Instead of responding, Ben's answer is a kiss. Finally. Thank God, he praises in his mind. Her hands move to cup his head in a gentle caress, pressing him closer as she opens her mouth to him. It's either her lips or the blood rushing to his head, Ben begins to feel dizzier the longer he stays like this. And every second is worth it.
His hands mirror her's; his mask spares him the horror of tussled hair, but Tara isn't as lucky. His fingers dig into her soft tresses, tugging at it. The both of them keep trying to press themselves closer to the other, but it's never enough.
Their lips part with a loud, cartoonish "smack". They're both lost for breath, using each other as leverage so neither falls. Tara dissolves into a fit of giggles, and Ben loves the sound of it.
He asked her, "You come out here, almost get mugged, and this is how you react?"
"Hey! I wouldn't be out here if YOU kept your promise. It's past ten, you said you were done for the day." Without the mask hiding the bottom half of his face, the brunette saw the easy smirk he wore. Listening to her speak, Ben was easily unhooked from his hanging web and standing on his two feet. He takes off the rest of his mask, allowing Tara to see the dyed blond hair, and those pretty brown eyes that she loved so much.
He encapsulates her in a hug, burrowing his nose in her neck. "'m sorry, baby. The whole late night vigilante routine comes with the suit, you know. It's my job. Can you forgive me?"
"I can manage it." Tara kissed the side of his head, enjoying the moment. "How's it hanging, anyway? Anything fun happen tonight?"
"Besides saving my own girlfriend from some street thugs..? Honestly, it's been nice. I guess everyone in the city decided to take the night off." Tara couldn't fight off that small shimmer of hope she felt in her chest. "Does that mean, maybe you can..?"
"Mh-hm." He smiled, pecking her cheek. "Time to clock out." The mask is pulled back on, his hand slides down to Tara's waist, walking her out of the alley. "Excited to have Thee Spiderman walk you home, sweetness?"
"I had a better idea; wanna swing home instead?"
"Not a bad one. You think you can handle it?"
"Obviously."

Locked Tomb Characters as Taylor Swift Songs
hey there tlt demons, it’s me... your local taylor swift girl. credentials include over 15 years of swiftie experience and a well documented primal urge to infodump about both the locked tomb AND taylor swift. more under the cut because this thing is a beast. let’s get into it.
(update: Spotify link added in the comments)
Gideon: The Story of Us. Listen. Gideon is a Speak Now girlie. I will die on this hill. Everything is so cinematic - the fireworks, the kissing in the rain, it’s just like her comic books! She will absolutely be singing this album in the shower. And if you have anything to say about it? Sucks to have shitty taste, my dude, sounds like you hate fun.
Now I'm standing alone in a crowded room And we're not speaking and I'm dying to know Is it killing you like it's killing me yeah I don't know what to say since the twist of fate When it all broke down and the story of us Looks a lot like a tragedy now... next chapter
Harrow: Hoax. Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, “How dare you assign her a song not from Reputation?” And aesthetically, I hear you. She probably wants you to think that, actually. But while Harrow can identify with Reputation’s themes of the juxtaposition of public persona and private identity, she viscerally rejects the sweetness and vulnerability of Rep era tracks like Call It What You Want and New Year’s Day. But Folklore... Folklore is for abject despair. Hoax is Harrow crying into the mattress, remembering what she’s done. Hoax is “I still love you.”
My only one, my smoking gun, my eclipsed sun This has broken me down My twisted knife, my sleepless night, my win-less fight This has frozen my ground Stood on the cliffside, screaming, "Give me a reason" Your faithless love's the only hoax I believe in
Ianthe: Better Than Revenge. We’re not supposed to like this one. In theory, the description of “Diss track about ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend, written by an 18 year old” doesn’t really hold any appeal for me. But when you listen to it, you can’t help but love it in all its nasty glory. Sometimes women are mean, and I need a song to scream to about it. (Ianthe thinks she’s doing Dress with Harrow. She’s not.)
I never saw it coming, wouldn’t have suspected it I underestimated just who I was dealing with She had to know the pain was beating on me like a drum She underestimated just who she was stealing from
Coronabeth: Mirrorball. Corona is an expert at reflecting back what people want to see. She studies military history for Judith, learns all about shuttles for a boy who wouldn’t look twice at her, she pulls off the long con of convincing the empire she’s a necromancer. She’s a mirrorball.
I'm still a believer but I don't know why I've never been a natural, all I do is try, try, try I'm still on that trapeze, I'm still trying everything To keep you looking at me Because I'm a mirrorball, I’m a mirrorball I'll show you every version of yourself tonight
Palamedes: Champagne Problems. Oof. You must have known this one was coming, right? Unlike most of the songs on this list, Palamedes is the subject of this song rather than the narrator. You know who the narrator is.
Your mom's ring in your pocket, my picture in your wallet Your heart was glass, I dropped it: champagne problems ... One for the money, two for the show I never was ready, so I watch you go Sometimes you just don't know the answer 'Til someone's on their knees and asks you
Camilla: I’m Only Me When I’m With You. A personal favorite of mine that doesn’t get nearly the love it deserves. If this isn’t her and Palamedes, I don’t know what to tell you. And after the events of NtN... um...
And I know everything about you, I don't wanna live without you I'm only up when you're not down Don't wanna fly if you're still on the ground It's like no matter what I do Well, you drive me crazy half the time The other half I'm only trying To let you know that what I feel is true And I'm only me when I'm with you
Nona: A Place in This World. Nona Palona. Kiddie. Junior. No-No. Cutie Pie. Lil Bits. Was there ever any other choice for her? This song is the perfect blend of slice-of-life and the inherent isolation of Figuring Out What Your Deal Is. Some people’s deal is being the soul of a murdered planet in someone else’s body, you know? It happens.
Got the radio on, my old blue jeans And I'm wearing my heart on my sleeve Feeling lucky today, got the sunshine Could you tell me what more do I need? And tomorrow's just a mystery, oh yeah, but that's okay ... Oh, I’m just a girl, trying to find a place in this world
Pyrrha: Right Where You Left Me. Look, I’m sorry about this one. But if you really expected me to pick anything else for the woman who’s spent the past ten thousand years watching every person she’s ever loved leave her behind in one way or another? That’s on you.
Friends break up, friends get married Strangers get born, strangers get buried Trends change, rumors fly through new skies But I'm right where you left me Matches burn after the other Pages turn and stick to each other Wages earned and lessons learned But I'm right where you left me ... You left me no choice but to stay here forever
Alecto: My Tears Ricochet. This song never fails to give me the chills when I listen to it in the car. Taylor’s ghost story metaphor for being taken advantage of by her record label until she was forced to leave maps on eerily well to John’s betrayal. I’ve been trying to be succinct in my lyrical excerpts, but fuck it, Alecto can have two stanzas, as a treat.
We gather stones, never knowing what they'll mean Some to throw, some to make a diamond ring You know I didn't want to have to haunt you But what a ghostly scene You wear the same jewels that I gave you As you bury me
I didn't have it in myself to go with grace And so the battleships will sink beneath the waves You had to kill me, but it killed you just the same Cursing my name, wishing I stayed You turned into your worst fears
John: Dear John. Honestly, any number of characters could be the narrator here, but I’m primarily thinking of Alecto. Mercy was right about putting an age limit on the Lyctor trials: “don’t you think nineteen’s too young?” John is also getting two stanzas to better exemplify the extent of my rage here. Fingers crossed for Alecto shining like fireworks over his sad empty town in AtN!
Well maybe it's me and my blind optimism to blame Maybe it's you and your sick need to give love then take it away And you'll add my name to your long list of traitors who don't understand And I'll look back and regret how I ignored when they said "Run as fast as you can"
You are an expert at sorry, and keeping the lines blurry Never impressed by me acing your tests All the girls that you've run dry have tired, lifeless eyes 'Cause you burned them out But I took your matches before fire could catch me, so don't look now I'm shining like fireworks over your sad, empty town
Kiriona: Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve. Right up front, I will acknowledge that this is a much different context than Taylor wrote this song about. However, the imagery is so spot on for Kiriona’s rage. Taylor was right to save this one for the 3 AM version of Midnights, not because it doesn’t deserve to be on the standard album, but because it would have completely overshadowed every other track with the rawness of her anger and regret. I feel physically ill every time I hear the line “Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first.” And Kiriona’s no stranger to giving someone your whole life and realizing they didn’t even want it.
God rest my soul, I miss who I used to be The tomb won't close, stained glass windows in my mind I regret you all the time I can't let this go, I fight with you in my sleep The wound won't close, I keep on waiting for a sign I regret you all the time
Mercymorn: Anti-Hero. I feel this one so strongly that I have actually already made a separate post comparing the lyrics to specific Mercy quotes (and I kind of want to do the same for Kiriona… hmmm). Unlovable Mercymorn, critical Mercymorn... it must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero.
It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me At tea time, everybody agrees I'll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror It must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero
Augustine: The Archer. You know, I almost gave him Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince just for the drama and scheming, but I think The Archer captures the genteel façade overlaying his true feelings. It brings to mind the conversation during Dios Apate (minor) where he says he wants to believe that he could’ve stopped Alfred if he’d had just a bit more time. Ouch.
All the king's horses, all the king's men Couldn't put me together again 'Cause all of my enemies started out friends Help me hold onto you
G1deon: I Knew You Were Trouble. We know it, we love it, we laughed ‘til we cried over the version with goat noises edited in. He knew he was playing with fire, and look how things ended up.
I knew you were trouble when you walked in So shame on me now Flew me to places I'd never been Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground
Wake: Cowboy Like Me. A country ballad? For Wake? It’s more likely than you think. Cowboy Like Me is the story of two swindlers who didn’t mean to actually catch feelings... sound familiar?
Now you hang from my lips Like the Gardens of Babylon With your boots beneath my bed Forever is the sweetest con I've had some tricks up my sleeve Takes one to know one You're a cowboy like me And I’m never gonna love again
Pash: philosophical exemption
Judith: Enchanted. I knowwww, it seems a little frilly and glittery for Judith, but hear me out. How starstruck she was over Marta, how working with her for the first time did absolutely nothing to change that. Thinking of no one else until she’s able to suggest her for her cavalier, secretly reading, ahem, “materials” and dreaming about making things different between them... Yeah, Judith was definitely enchanted to meet her.
This is me praying that This was the very first page Not where the story line ends My thoughts will echo your name, until I see you again These are the words I held back, as I was leaving too soon I was enchanted to meet you
Cytherea: Look What You Made Me Do. The old Cytherea can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Cause she’s dead! I love this for Cyth, not just for surface level content, which certainly fits, but for the context of the song. When LWYMMD was first released, the public consensus was that it was a response to the whole Kim/Kanye situation. In the years since, though, it’s become public that behind the scenes, Taylor was struggling to regain control of her work from her record label. With that context, much of the lyrics and music video reflect that conflict, rather than the one everyone assumed. In the same way, Cytherea’s motivation and actions look much different through the lens of what we learn throughout the next two books.
But I got smarter, I got harder in the nick of time Honey, I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time I got a list of names, and yours is in red, underlined I check it once, then I check it twice, oh!
Dulcie: Bigger Than The Whole Sky. This one hurts. In a series full of tragedy, the fact that this delightful menace never got to meet Palamedes and Camilla in person is enough to break my heart. Our sweet little malign fairy, who has never done anything wrong in her life.
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye You were bigger than the whole sky You were more than just a short time And I've got a lot to pine about I've got a lot to live without I'm never gonna meet What could've been, would've been What should've been you
Abigail: September. Not a Taylor Swift original, but her folksy cover of the classic is so soft and cozy. Comforting, in that Abigail way. If she and Magnus danced to this one, I can’t blame him for keeping a scrap of her dance card.
Our hearts were ringin' In the key that our souls were singin' As we danced in the night, remember How the stars stole the night away
Magnus: Starlight. More songs for saving dance cards! I can imagine him both sweetly dancing with Abigail AND being a huge dork and embarrassing Isaac and Jeannemary to this one. (Noooooo Magnus, don’t dance to Taylor Swift!)
And I said, "Oh my, what a marvelous tune" It was the best night, never would forget how we moved The whole place was dressed to the nines And we were dancing, dancing Like we're made of starlight, starlight
Isaac and Jeannemary: Long Live. Because that’s what they should’ve been able to do, ugh. I sort of meant this as a joke but when I went to copy the lyrics over I started getting all teary-eyed, so, you know. It’s fine.
Will you take a moment? Promise me this That you'll stand by me forever But if, God forbid, fate should step in And force us into a goodbye If you have children some day When they point to the pictures Please tell 'em my name Tell 'em how the crowds went wild Tell 'em how I hope they shine Long live the walls we crashed through I had the time of my life with you
Cassiopeia: Vigilante Shit. I love the image of Cassy as a contract lawyer vigilante, but I also love the implications in this song that she was working behind his back with his wife Alecto. Gotta make sure she gets the Benz in the divorce, and if the FBI get involved? Well, that’s out of her hands at that point [sips coffee].
She needed cold hard proof so I gave her some She had the envelope, where you think she got it from? Now she gets the house, gets the kids, gets the pride Picture me thick as thieves with your ex-wife
Anastasia: Haunted. The church bells! The drama! So very Ninth. With Haunted, we get both her devastation at “misapprehending” the ascension process and her growing horror at the ways she’s begun to realize they’ve all been manipulated.
Come on, come on, don't leave me like this I thought I had you figured out Something's gone terribly wrong You're all I wanted Come on, come on, don't leave me like this I thought I had you figured out Can't breathe whenever you're gone Can't turn back now, I'm haunted

Chapter One
Chapter Synopsis: This basically plays out like the subway mugging scene in-game, with some changes to fit in with my own mental illness 🫶
It's a chilly evening on the subway, as Penny stands by the doors, nail-polished fingers holding onto the safety pole as she looks at her watch. Her coat pockets jingle with change and crumpled bills from her shift at Bunny's Burgers, all courtesy of her satisfied customers, as she sways backward from the train's speed taking her to her cozy apartment uptown.
'Today was rough', she stares pensively at her boots, sighing as she contemplates her work day with fellow coworker, Mile.
'We were understaffed, a large party came in and occupied 3 booths and a table, and left a mess I cleaned up myself, and Mile was getting yelled at for dropping the cash box while managing the cash register.' Her screen goes dark as she lay deep in her thoughts until she saw out of the corner of her sensor someone moving into a double seat across from her and her pole.
It was a tall, knife-headed man, unfamiliar to her, with a malevolent glint on his blade. Well, she perceived it to be so, considering light can't be malevolent, but does it really matter? He sat next to a man in a denim jacket, covered in what appeared to be mud stains and water, with a foul odor following him, much to Denim Man's slight panic. Penny slowly moved slightly closer and began to eavesdrop ever so cautiously.
"Look, I'll say it again only once", the suspect man sneered, as he pulled what looked like a gun out of his coat pocket. "Hand over the wallet, bozo, and I'll let you off the hook scot-free. If not, your dumb, phone face GETS IT. Deal?"
Shakily, without lifting his head, Denim Man whimpered quietly, “P-please, sir, I don’t have any money, just, just some loose change...” Denim Man was shaking with fear holding an expression of what seemed to be pure dread.
“Well, better than nothing, I guess”, the mugger replied. “Hand it over before I stab you, so help me Phone-God!”
Penny started to feel sick to her stomach, a lump welling in her throat. Surely she couldn’t leave the poor man to get mugged of all he had? She started weighing her options quickly.
The train started to slow, lunging everyone slightly forward, and suddenly, an idea manifested itself. This is her stop. Penny stepped forward slowly, making pace closer to the mugger.
“Leave him alone!”
She heard herself gasping, and immediately covering her mouth in alarm. Why did she say that?! She felt the color drain from her face as the mugger stood up and faced her, towering over her.
“Hey, Sweetcheeks, stay out of this if you don’t wanna see this cuck blown away, y’hear me?”
She stood there, frozen, trembling, forcing herself to respond to the criminal’s threat. “I-if you leave him alone, I’ll, I’ll give you my tip money for the night”, she managed to squeak out, “But leave him alone, o-okay? Surely it’s more than what you’d get out of him.”
The air was still for a brief second, but to everyone involved, it felt like an eternity. The Denim Man looked up at her, in grateful shock, before gesturing for her not to intervene with his bandage-wrapped hands. “Finally, at least I'm getting something out of this,” The Mugger grumbled. Penny rummaged through her bag for a few moments, silently refraining from making eye contact with the bladed robber.
In a split second, she grabbed her pepper spray, undid the cap while still in her bag, and let it rip on the mugger’s face, in a fiery cloud. The mugger immediately folded over in pain, dropping his gun, which revealed an empty cartridge.
“MY EYES! GOD FUCKING DAMMIT, I DON’T EVEN HAVE ANY?!” The Mugger screamed in agony. “YOU’LL PAY FOR THIS, YOU FREAK! I HAVE MOB CONNECTIONS! I’LL FIND YOU AND BANDAGES OVER THERE AND MAKE YOU PAY FOR FORCING ME TO THINK ABOUT THE BIOLOGICAL MYSTERIES OF MY EXISTENCE!"
Penny grabbed Denim Man’s hand and quickly pulled him to the now open-subway doors, and bolted out into the station and onto the streets of Uptown DIaltown. She had never felt so scared before, but at the same time, she was euphoric on the adrenaline rush. She had stopped a man from getting mugged on the subway, almost single-handedly! It may be a good idea to check on him, he seemed very shaken up.
“Oh, my Phone-God, are you okay, dear?!” She worriedly asked, still huffing and heaving from the run. He was sobbing quite loudly, and in quite a messy way, too. Let’s not get into the details of how a phone can cry.
“W-why, why did you do that?!” He finally managed to sputter, in between sobs and heaving, hitching breaths. “You don’t even, even KNOW me! Why would you risk yourself, f-for a schmuck, a bum like ME?!”
She looked at the messy, blubbering wreck in front of her and heaved a heavy sigh. “I... I don't know. I don’t know what came over me. I just, started moving without thinking,” She replied, much to her own surprise. “I think it was instinct. But, anyway, what’s your name?”
“I-it’s Randy, Miss... uh...” He wavered.
“Oh, um, it’s Penny! Penelope Sciarte. Just stick with Penny, okay?” She chuckled awkwardly. “Anyway, what led to you, um, getting on the subway? From the sound of it, you didn’t even have enough to get on in the first place.”
“O-oh, right... I, um, this is going to sound pathetic, I’m sure, but uh...” He muttered while looking down at his bandaged hands. “I got chased down here by swans. I managed to get in through the doors before they closed.”
Penny stopped in concern and slight awe. “A swan would go out of its way to chase you down from the park to the subway?" She added in astonishment. "I knew they were rude but not outright cruel.”
“Well, you really see to the worst side of them when you spend your days trying to wrangle them every day for a pittance.” He sighed and briefly exchanged his final pleasantries with Penny before starting to walk in the opposite direction.
“Wait! Are you sure you’re okay to walk by yourself? Where are you headed, dear?” Penny inquired, attempting to ensure Randy didn’t run into any more trouble.
He hesitated. “Look, thank you for your help back there, but I don’t want to cause you any more trouble. I’m going to my dumpster, it’s really all I have left at this point.” He looked up at her, her screen flickering pensively.
“D-did you say, dumpster?” Her face lit up. “No wonder you looked familiar! You’re the guy who’s been squatting in Bunny’s dumpster for the past few years!”
Randy’s expression became wearier as she mentioned this. “Yeah, that’s me, but you could probably tell simply by the SMELL that follows me everywhere. there’s no point in complaining. If there is a God, he certainly isn’t a merciful one. After all, he created those portents of pure maliciousness that we call SWANS.”
“Well, are you sure you don’t need a place to stay for the night?” She asked, and realized just how much of an idiot she sounded like for inviting a stranger into her house.
“W-well, I know it sounds kind of, um, sudden and odd, but I assure you, it’s much better than staying in a filthy dumpster after such a rough day.” She felt the air coming out of her vents heating up at the thought of a stranger in her home.
“I couldn’t possibly intrude, and you’ve done enough for one night,” He quickly responded as he tried his best to avoid eye contact with her. He sighed and shook his head. "I know how busy things are at Bunny's, the last thing you need is another lousy burden on your shoulders."
She looked him in the eyes.
"Oh, nonsense!" She insisted. "I won't be able to sleep tonight worrying that you're sleeping in that greasy dumpster and I have a very busy shift tomorrow! You'd be doing me a favor by staying in my home, even if it's just for tonight."
She didn't seem to notice while speaking she had cupped his bandaged hands in hers, much to her own surprise. She pulled back nervously.
"Oh, er, sorry." He stood there silently, impressed and slightly intimidated by her.
She took notice of this, and countered, "You don't have to say anything, just nod your head yes or no, dear." He started to tear up again and started shaking his head up and down in agreement.
She took his hand and directed him to follow her down the row of buildings in Uptown Dialtown, as the night brought down a cool chill and lit the light posts. Somehow, somehow, despite this, both felt a warmth inside them, faintly glowing with each step.
