I've surmised from spoilers that Redemption Durge never gets their memories back (even if you beg Withers) but what if they did? Specifically, what if Bhaal gives them back as a way to drive Durge back to him, to remind them what kind of monster they are and break Redemption Durge's spirit. Like "these good guy heroics mean nothing, can never make up for what you are. LOOK at what you used to be. you can never really leave me. Even if you sever your familial ties I am going to haunt you from you memories and never let you forget."

So even if the actual Urge is gone out of their head, they're terrified that the memories are who they "really are". They try to run away and isolate (their friends won't let them). They used to have the insatiable bloodlust and had no problems fighting and killing and now they get queasy at the sight of blood and the memories of how much joy slaughtering used to bring them. They hand all their weapons over to their companions to disarm themselves cause they think they can't be trusted.

They have to be reminded constantly that the fact that they're so scared of themselves, so torn up over their past, is proof that they aren't that person, that they aren't going to randomly start killing for fun again, that they are good

i honestly think yui's death is the most impactful danganronpa death to me, personally.

i want to say it's because so many of the deaths in the first two games (and dr3) ((and some in drv3, which i still haven't finished)) were spoiled, but the second most impactful dr death to me, personally was when kyoko died in dr3. even though i knew she was going to get better.

...and also i knew that yui was going to die before i got there, which honestly, in this case, almost made it worse.

that's not saying that there aren't good (and bad) deaths throughout danganronpa. there are!

yui's is just.

for me, it's that one.

we talk about the sexiness of vampire neck biting but can we also please talk about the intimacy? the trust? sexual or romantic, platonic, even familial. giving someone that power over you shows such a great deal of trust from someone, especially when they are a creature that is known for being predatory and manipulative in regards to its feeding habits.

A friend offers to hold their companion's hand while they drink, reminding them again and again that it's fine, they're okay. they'll just get a juice pack when they're done so they don't pass out like the last time.

A parent of a child who was just newly turned, their little one now unable to eat the cookies and pastry treats that once brought them such delight. the fangs are too small to pierce the neck, so a finger will have to do.

it's all about trust and being willing to bleed for a just a little for someone. not in a constant way. heaven's knows how easily this could be abused. but from time to time we do give ourselves up for the ones they love. idk. vampires are fun
