Let’s talk about Dante’s outfit
Tumblr media
So basically, I had an idea that I just wanted to put out there
dante’s outfit is the guard academy training uniform
the fact that he’s still wearing it shows just how young he is. (19) he’s actually been using it as his ‘armor’ since he left the academy at 16, but has been hopping from village to village for the past 3 years.
It’s not very functional as actual armor. It’s not meant to be. It’s intended so that once a guard finds their village, it will be replaced by the villages armor.
The shirt represents his rank in the academy.
Each rank has a color;
Purple: Top rank. Jury worthy. This guy is insanely good. On the waiting list.
Blue: Top, non jury related, rank. These guys will generally become your village head guard.
Green: Second top rank. Second in command.
Orange: Middle rank. Majority trainees fall under this category and stay here.
Red: Bottom rank. This guy is dog shit, needs a lot of work.
White: Fresh meat. Haven’t been here long enough to move up a color. Give ‘em hell, see if they stick around.
Think of the colors like belts in karate, when you move up a skill level, you gain a new tunic color.
————————————————————————————
Dante actually finished with a purple tunic, but switched it to blue before leaving. He didn’t want the extra attention. He also tried to scratch his name off of the jury waiting list but it has binding magicks placed upon it, so he was unsuccessful.
————————————————————————————
Now for some… Who finished training with what color!!!
Laurance and Garroth both finished with purple.
Zenix never actually went to guard academy, said he finished with red. (he didn’t know what he was saying)
Katelyn also obviously finished with purple.
Gene finished with blue, as did Sasha.
Dale finished with blue, but it was almost green. He gained blue last second.
Brian finished with orange, much to Dale’s disappointment.
Azura finished with blue.
Alexis finished with green.
Kyle finished with orange.
And Dmitri and Ninette probably both would’ve finished with blue or purple.

OOUHGU IM THINKING ABOUT THE RO'MEAVE SIBLINGS AGAIN AND MAKING IT YOUR PROBLEM
Garroth had the most of Garte's "good side" growing up, and as he was their only child at the time, Garte and Zianna favored him. He learned kindness and empathy from his mother as she stroked his hair at bedtime; He learned responsibility and loyalty from his father as the king told him of the future in store for him. He learned love from them. But then his father changed. Garroth learned to protect from his mother, standing in front of her when Garte yelled, just in case. He learned to sacrifice from Garte, complying with the king's many demands and rules "for the good of his people."
Vylad was born into a cold world. Garte treated him well at first, letting the child ride on his shoulders throughout the castle. But that candle of love was snuffed without remorse soon enough. In the end, from his father, he learned hatred and disgust. He had to hide from it. Yes, to hide away and be invisible, that's what he must do to survive. Survive. Survive. Survive. That's all that matters. But.. this cold world was not without comfort. In his mother's arms, he learned pity. Pity for the woman cursed with compassion and pity to all the bleeding hearts before and after her. He learned fairness from his older brother Garroth, who never saw him as lesser or wrong. Finally, Vylad learned that the cruel machinations of the world favored the strong over the good, as he plummeted into the depths of hell.
Zane, perhaps, was doomed from the start, being the young and malleable last son of Garte. Once his brothers died, there was no light that could combat the darkness weaving its way into his soul. Oh, Zianna tried to hold on to him; but Zane had already learned so much from his mother. She could not keep her own children alive. She could not protect them, protect him, as much as she liked to pretend her arms were a shield. She could not love him the same way she did his brothers because she was weak. Zane did not care when his brothers died. He didn't cry when he realized their shared bedroom would be silent forever. He never stared at the empty, faded spot on the wall where the family portrait used to be. Those emotions were useless, as his Father taught him. Zane learned how to get power; to invoke fear; to be a leader; to manipulate; to crush all those in his way without a drop of blood on his hands from Garte. The infallible High Priest, the benevolent leader of the Jury - that is Prince Zane Ro'meave.

I regretfully do have to say this:
If one was going to make an MCD! Accurate Personality Zane into Phoenix Drop High, we all have to accept that he would be that one try hard, almost incel kid with an incredibly toxic friend group but is still somehow weirdly popular. Nepo popular
Jury of Nine? All people he met at Bible camp and they hung out together cause they were the black sheep and not like the other mindless followers. The only reason Katelyn and Jeffory joined them because the other Jury of Nine were the only people their age who weren't VERY OBSESSED with religion. Katelyn was just there for dodgeball, man.
The Jury of Nine is also one of the most toxic discord servers. Zane ends up banning Jeffory and Katelyn for being traitors, aka befriending Aphmau and Garroth.

i think the fact that Garroth never bothered to change his name lowkey indicates that it’s at least a somewhat common name throughout Ru’aun. I mean sure it could’ve just been a himbo-brained thing to do but the idea of it being a popular name really could’ve been used for peak comedy.
Like imagine a juror getting sent to a random village thinking they’ve found the right Garroth and it’s just some dude.
Even funnier to imagine none of the jurors have met Garroth personally or really knows what he looks like so they have to drag whatever guy they found all the way back to O’Khasis show him to Zane and be like “is this the right one”

I have stumbled into Zaaron, AKA Zane Ro'Meave/Lord Aaron of Falconclaw.
Hear me out: if Aaron DIDN'T KNOW that it was Zane who gave Jacob the amulet that killed all of Falconclaw, he would still be a guilt-ridden revenger but he'd have no target to turn all that guilt and rage on.
He'd stew in it for months while he buried the dead one by one with no one to blame but himself. He wasn't strong enough or fast enough or smart enough to stop this from happening, he's broken himself down into his simplest components and found himself lacking. What is he supposed to do now? He's a broken thing. He could go to O'khasis. Lily's cousin Ivy is in O'khasis. They'd never spoken much, but she was all the family he had left. He couldn't make himself stay here any longer, where else is he supposed to go?
He goes to O'khasis. Ivy is out on assignment when he shows up at the central cathedral looking for her, but the High Priest is there. Lily speaks - used to speak well of him. If anyone can fix him, it's the High Priest, right?
Zane's the best in the world at putting on a mask, he can see through one easily. Aaron clearly doesn't know it was him who gave Jacob the amulet and he's not about to let him know. He brings Aaron into the fold of the church, the O'khasis guard, Zane's personal service and eventually into the Jury of Nine. He's so sweet, Zane, and it's so easy to fall into service to him, so easy for Aaron to dedicate himself to the duties he's assigned - it's not like he has any more Lordly duties to attend to when he's the only surviving soul fo his village. Zane keeps him close, it would have been better if he'd had the boy to take under his wing but he supposed a man who'd rather do anything than continue thinking of how broken and weak he'd become worked just as well. He couldn't seduce him exactly to keep him complacent, but he could get very close to it.
Aaron's already been on the Jury for a while when Zane sends him on his first bloody mission, an easy one to test the waters. Aaron's shaken when he comes back, but he still follows orders as well as ever and only clings to Zane more when he frets and cradles his face so gently and asks softly if he's alright, so he supposes he'll outgrow the anxiety and guilt of what he's been asked. Aaron, meanwhile, has started putting together the pieces. When he finally learns all he needs to know, he's horribly conflicted - he should kill the man who made him kill his entire village, but this can't possibly be right. It can't possibly be Zane, right?
It only takes overhearing one discussion between Janus and Ivy about Janus's assignments to convince him otherwise. And for his wife's beloved cousin to be in on it? How many others were there who knew? Was Aaron the only Juror who didn't know that Zane wasn't who he thought he was? He'd have to go through all of them to get to Zane, he knows. Even after all this time and dedication to the Jury, he's not strong enough for that.
So he runs. His Juror token is torn out of him and recalled by witchcraft the moment they realize he's really gone. It hurts just as much as Lily and Jacob suddenly dropping dead in the kitchen one sunny afternoon.
By the time they meet again in Phoenix Drop, Aaron's made his decision. He'll kill Zane and avenge Falconclaw, even if he has to die with him to do it.
Love's got nothing to do with their relationship. It's about being so isolated by your station and situation that you'll do anything to not be completely alone, even if that means letting someone control you completely.

Ein is part of the Jury of Nine, and he's called Ein the Hound despite the fact that there is no evidence to suggest that he's a werewolf. But he does sorta maul people to death
slang that people use for him is Cerberus.
I imagine most people have slang for each of the JO9 instead of calling them their titles. Makes it hard for Aphmau to keep track of whose who.

yeah I'll draw him eventually
if i got a dollar for every time i said "I'll draw __ eventually" and never doing it I'd be rich

Ok so considering Ivy and Lily are cousins in my street. Does that mean they are also cousins in MCD?
Anyways, new headcanon that back when Lily was alive, Ivy would come and visit her in falconclaw and babysit Jacob.
