October 17, 2024 - Software Design and Engineering: Asynchronous Class

Week 10

Our major midterm examinations for this week concluded yesterday, but we still have one practical exam left, which is scheduled for October 29. I therefore took a one-day break from my studies for this day because it had been such a demanding and restless week. And I had planned to continue working on our PITs for two major subjects, one of which was SDE. So, yes, I slept and browsed all day because tomorrow and the following few days will be PIT time. I really don't have anything more to say than this because, well, nothing exciting ever happens when I'm at home. (Photo taken yesterday after exam, and it was my first time being on a rooftop in USTP.)

i've been anticipating summer all semester like its the only thing that matters, but it still somehow snuck up on me! that unfortunately doesn't mean that school work is over (sad face) #summerclasses

my junior year is finally DONEZO, and i decided to start my burning passion (a blog).

im going to regularly jot down what it's like to attend a gifted boarding school, apply to colleges, work through summer classes, and enjoy my last summer as a teenager.

Who was the first deity(s) you worked with ?

I first started worship with Apollon ! Dionysus and ares came soon after . I first learnt about the worship of the gods in my year 11 ( junioryear) highschool history class ! I began worship with a small altar and prayers

Who is/are the deity/deities you're working with now ?

The list of gods i regularly worship now are

Apollon , Dionysus , Hestia , Hermes , Hypnos , Helios , and Zeus !!

Sometimes i will pray to others but these are my main !

What is your favourite aspect of your practice ??

Thats hard for me to choose , i think the learning about the gods and ancient life is a top contender but praying and giving offering at my altar is probably first place 🙏 ❤️ though i love all aspects its hard to choose!

Something youd like to get better at ?,

Celebrating the holidays and worshipping in a way more similar to the ancient ways are some goals of mine ! Being consistent is another !

People are always saying they need more witchy/pagan mutuals so I thought this would be a fun way to find them while getting to talk about your practice!

Who, if anyone, was the first deity(s) you worked with?

Hermes was the first deity that I made the conscious decision to worship though I had always been drawn to paganism. I made a tiny altar, devotional drawings, playlists, and a journal to him. I quickly added Athena and Apollo after that, but it became too overwhelming, and I got burnt out. I stopped practicing for about four years until I started again this year.

Who, if anyone, is the deity(s) you’re working with now?

Artemis was the one who reached out to me this time. She had been sending me a bunch of incredibly obvious signs that took me abt six months to finally notice (my bad lol) but I'm very happy with her now. Athena has also been more present, whereas she was more in the background the first time I tried Hellenism, and now she sits with me at work. Hermes dips in and out and Apollo's the one who's been more in the background. I would like to strengthen my relationship with them because I miss them.

What’s your favorite aspect of your practice? (Ex: doing tarot, celebrating holidays, casting spells, etc)

I like getting things for my altar. It makes me so happy knowing that my gods will like whatever I'm getting; I love getting presents for ppl I care abt. I haven't collected everything into one central altar yet but I'm very excited for when I do.

What’s something you want to get better at?

I want to get better at tarot. I've been doing it for a few years now but I'm still 100% reliant on the guidebook the cards came with and am not very good at making my own interpretations. I'm hoping I'll get better at it with time but it has been quite a while...

August 15, 2024 - Software Design and Engineering Orientation Day

Week 1 Starting in August, I am officially a third-year college student studying at USTP CDO, and classes start in the third week. And the day to return to reality was last Thursday, August 15. That day marks not just the start of class or the return to school but also the orientation for the Software Design and Engineering course I am taking. So I got up early and started getting for school, despite the fact that our class starts at 12 noon. You may be asking why so early given that I live near the university, but you may be familiar with the tense, thrilling feeling in the night before our trip the next day, which makes it difficult to fall asleep. Yes, I felt the same nervousness that day or night before I went to bed, but for the opposite reason. I did not think I was ready to go back to school, and based on the name of the subject, it sounds like a rather scary one, so that's why I was nervous. Nevertheless, I have to do it. So I arrived at school, entered our classroom, and before we began, we were asked to introduce ourselves by stating our name, age, address, and favorite music (I went with Castles Crumbling by Taylor Swift). Following that, we talked about the course's objectives and requirements, including the grading system, and then we recited the student pledge together. That's basically what happened during our orientation. And, I hope that we finish this subject as well as we started it.
