According to Hippolytus of Thebes, our blessed mother was assumed around the year 41AD. The 18thC mystic Catherine Emmerich says she was aged around 64 at the time of the Dormition (source: a vision), which would put the date between 45-49AD. Based on these two extremely accurate and definitely not questionable dates, I will now show how many of her children Our Lady had to watch die (while on earth).

Jesus: 33AD. Obviously.

Judas: 33AD. She did not see this bc she was a bit busy with our boy JC but she was around and in the area.

James (the Greater) son of Zebedee: killed by Herod Agrippa in 44AD. Our Lady apparently bilocated to see him on his mission (ur mum could never) so maybe she did that for his death as well.

Andrew: Crucified on an X-shaped cross in Achaia (Greece) in the year 60-61AD. She did not see this.

James (the Lesser) son of Alphaeus: stoned to death in the AD60s. She did not see this.

Philip: Crucified upside down in Hierapolis in 62AD. She did not see this.

Matthew: martyred in Ethiopia in 65AD. She did not see this.

Matthias (replaced Judas): martyred in 65AD, either hacked to death or crucified. She did not see this.

Peter: crucified upside down during the Neronian persecutions of 67-68AD. She did not see this.

Paul: beheaded in Rome on the same day (BFF goals). She did not see this.

Bartholomew/Nathaniel: skinned alive in Armenia in 72AD. She did not see this.

(Doubting) Thomas: was in Persia and India (VERY funny story about this in the gnostic Gospel of Thomas) but was teleported back to Jerusalem three days after Our Lady's Dormition, and was there to see that her body had been assumed. He was later stabbed to death in India in 74AD.

John: Probably died of natural causes at the end of the 1st century. He's winning. St Robert Bellarmine thinks his body was assumed into heaven so they even reunited on the same day (side note: John's conviction that he is Jesus's specialest little apostle is consistent with the favourite child syndrome he clearly also has from Our Lady, and this cannot have helped. PlotTober 3 - Scars

Before I get into this post, I would like to explain some lore to y'all! Beze'el and Bemphel are the oc's of me and my fiancé (@tortoiseshelf) and are demons from the 3rd(gluttony) circle of hell. Neither of us are Christian, but I enjoy giving my characters trauma so Beelzebub is depicted as an abusive jackass. As an omnithiestic person, I will say outright that Beelzebub is NOT an evil or abusive person/demon/thing and this is purely for storyline purposes.

With that, some explanation on these characters.

Beze'el: Beze'el is the eldest son of Beelzebub. He has seven siblings; Lucielle, Macsen, Evangeline, Diego, Aurora, Judas, and Lilliana. Beze'el always took his siblings punishment, doing everything he could to protect them. He was raised being told his worth and purpose in life came from caring for his siblings and being an obedient son, and that was his only value in existence. Beze'el is missing part of a horn from when he was with his father at a meeting with the other crown demons (Lucifer, Satan, Belphegor, Mammon, Leviathan, and Asmodeus). During this, Beze'el spoke out of turn and was punished by having part of his horn snapped off. He was once aggressive towards beelzebub in defense of his youngest sister - and was punished by having his wings torn from his flesh - leaving him with large jagged scars where they had been attached.

Now, lets start this story!

Bemphel was infatuated with Beze’el, the demon who’d been shunned by the rest of circle 3 for abandoning his post as heir to the throne. He knew the truth, a story that was hidden from demons and angels alike. The truth that Beze’el leaving wasn’t an act of rebellion, it was his way of protecting his siblings. Bemphel knew very well that Beze’el had no self worth, the demon still viewed his only worth through the thriving of his siblings. Bemphel struggled with trying to get Beze’el to see his worth, but he wanted more than anything to be there when he was needed.

Beze’el had never taken his top off around Bemphel. As far as Bemphel knew, the only demon aside from Beelzebub to have seen Beze’el’s back after his wings, was Romeo - Beze’els old guard who remained by his side through the move to earth. This didn’t bother Bemphel, as he understood it was an awful memory for Beze’el that often left him sobbing in his arms even after showers or getting dressed.

It had been this way for years of their relationship, and Bemphel held no opposition as long as Beze’el was comfortable and happy. The farmer came back to their shared apartment one day after work, unaware that Beze’el was still in their room. He stepped into the bedroom, only to find himself frozen before the sight of Beze’el’s bare back - covered in jagged scars from what looked like bullwhips.. And the wings he’d never been able to see. He felt his breathing grow heavy with rage, the idea that the prince's father would do such a thing to his own son.

Beze’el promptly turned, eyes wide and body already trembling as if he was in the middle of a blizzard. The prince swiftly pulled his shirt on, taking a few steps back. “Bemphel- I’m so sorry you had to see that-” He tried to catch his breath, already feeling his panic move to new heights as he saw his lover's enraged expression. He began to hyperventilate despite his efforts to remain calm. “Please, please don’t be upset! I w-will keep it covered more strictly from now on, please..”

Bemphel was dumbfounded by Beze’els reaction, and he remembered vividly that Romeo had told him Beze’el spoke more formally when he was anxious, a habit he’d picked up under Beelzebubs command. Bemphel rushed forward and pulled his partner into a tight hug. “Beze’el, you are fucking divine. You never have to hide anything from me. I don’t care how disgusting you think you are, you’re my everything and I love every part of you. Every. Part.” Beze’el found himself tearing up, before beginning to sob loudly against Bemphels shoulder. “Thank you.”

Adriana grew up surrounded by nobility. Her parents only had one goal: Notoriety. They only saw their children as a pawn in an elaborate game of chess, their only purpose being to be married off into some noble branch.

Her mother, Lucy, grew up in a lavish house in Centara with anything and everything at her fingertips, the downside being that she never understood true struggle, so when she had children, she had a bad habit of tossing their issues aside, unable to grasp what their problems even were. She was 20 when she met Judas. Lucy married him at 22.

Adrianas father, Judas, was the complete opposite of Lucy. If Lucy was ignorant and apathetic on a good day, Judas on a good day would be quiet, which was incredibly unusual. Fights between Lucy and Judas were common. Judas grew up with nothing to his name. He met Lucy when he was 23, it was “love at first sight” if you will.

Micah was Adri’s eldest sibling. Out of all the Daysworn children, he was the most magically gifted. You’d think that his parents would be happy about this, right? No. While Lucy stumbled upon magic few times in her lifetime, she never thought herself to be competent enough to fully grasp it, thus projecting her own issue onto Micah. Judas thought that magic was only for rich snobs (massive hypocrite tbh) Micah was also the primary caretaker of Adri for the first twelve years of her life. When Micah was about 21, he got into a fight with Judas. In a drunken hissy fit of rage, Judas grabbed an empty bottle of whiskey and threw it at Micah. Even though he missed, Judas still managed to do a great deal of damage, causing a cut on Micah’s face. Days after Micah ran away, and was later found dead by a traveler.

Ruthie is Adri’s eldest sister. Adri and Ruthie were incredibly close. She was loud and outspoken, she was the first person to try to help Micah after what happened. Her and Adri’s relationship was less of a sisterly bond but, more like close friends. She was the one who encouraged Adri to confess to Frida. She’s completely cut off her family and now lives in Ahkahn with her husband and son. Ruthie doesn’t have a great relationship with her husband, her son being the only thing keeping her going.

Katherine is Adri’s youngest sibling. While her time with Adri was brief, she still managed to make memories with her. When she was 11, she lived alone with her parents, whom at this point, were less like human beings, and more like shells of what once was, Lucy was deep into Alzheimer’s (or the al’terra equivalent) , and Judas was deep into a malasycthe addiction, Katherine decided that she had enough, and ran away. She walked. She didn’t know where she was going, but nevertheless, she continued. Eventually, she collapsed due to exhaustion, however, a Nixinite woman found her unconscious body, and brought it back to the temple, in hopes that she could be saved, lo and behold, she could. Katherine now resides in the temple, with hopes of finding her siblings.

Important events (some of these are kind of nothingburgers but it’s whatever)

At four, Adri was on a swing unsupervised, she fell off and hit her shoulder on a jagged rock, causing a scar. In the future, when someone were to ask how she got it, instead of saying what actually happened, she’d make something up like “I got it in a fight with my mom” etc, to make herself seem more brave and important than she appeared.

At five, Katherine was born, the relationship between Adri and Katherine was surface level, nothing too special.

When Adri was six, she caught Micah using magic in secret, they both agreed not to tell their parents, if Adri could watch him practice.

When Adri was eight, she started journaling, nothing too crazy, just little anecdotes of her life along with some drawings. She also got into embroidery & sewing around this point.

At twelve, the whiskey incident occurred. This made Adrianas life take a sharp turn.

When Adri was 15, she met Frida, little did either of them know, this would lead to Frida’s death

Also around this time, Frida & Adri made & painted an ocarina for Adri’s sixteenth birthday.

Adri and Frida wouldve been dating for around a year now, Adri tried to run away a few days prior, but she was caught be her father who threatened to kill Frida as a consequence, when Adri arrived at their usual meeting spot, she found it empty, so she waited. After thirty minutes of waiting, she decided that she shouldn’t wait any longer, and so she started looking for Frida, calling out her name. When she had enough of looking for her, she decided to return to the bench, while she was walking there, something caught her eye, it was Fridas corpse. Horrified, Adri decided she had enough. She had enough of her family, taking away everything that she loved. So, she packed her things, and ran away.

When Adriana had just turned 17, she arrived at Centara. She played her ocarina there for some cash. This caused her to achieve some levels of recognition, but she knew she couldnt stay there for long.

At eighteen, she arrived at Ahkahn, joining the hunters sometime after.

A ninety-year-old elder, the scribe and teacher Eleazar, was brought to trial for his faithfulness to the Mosaic Law. He suffered tortures and died at Jerusalem.

The disciples of Saint Eleazar, the seven Maccabee brothers and their mother Solomonia, also displayed great courage. They were brought to trial in Antioch by King Antiochus Epiphanes. They fearlessly acknowledged themselves as followers of the True God, and refused to eat pig’s flesh, which was forbidden by the Law.

The eldest brother acted as spokesman for the rest, saying that they preferred to die rather than break the Law. He was subjected to fierce tortures in sight of his brothers and their mother. His tongue was cut out, he was scalped, and his hands and feet were cut off. Then a cauldron and a large frying pan were heated, and the first brother was thrown into the frying pan, and he died.

The next five brothers were tortured one after the other. The seventh and youngest brother was the last one left alive. Antiochus suggested to Saint Solomonia to persuade the boy to obey him, so that her last son at least would be spared. Instead, the brave mother told him to imitate the courage of his brothers.

The child upbraided the king and was tortured even more cruelly than his brothers had been. After all her seven children had died, Saint Solomonia, stood over their bodies, raised up her hands in prayer to God and died.

The martyric death of the Maccabee brothers inspired Judas Maccabeus, and he led a revolt against Antiochus Epiphanes. With God’s help, he gained the victory, and then purified the Temple at Jerusalem. He also threw down the altars which the pagans had set up in the streets. All these events are related in the Second Book of Maccabees (Ch. 8-10).

Various Fathers of the Church preached sermons on the seven Maccabees, including Saint Cyprian of Carthage, Saint Ambrose of Milan, Saint Gregory Nazianzus and Saint John Chrysostom.

ST. NICHOLAS (KASSATKIN), ENLIGHTENER OF JAPAN (1912)

Saint Nicholas (Kasatkin) Equal of the Apostles, Bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church. Missionary, Founder of the Orthodox Church in Japan, honorary member of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society. (Name Day: May 9).

Saint Nicholas (in the world John Kasatkin) was born on August 1,1836 in the village of Berezovsky Pogost, Belsky District, Smolensk Province into the family of a deacon. He graduated from the Belsk Theological School and the Smolensk Theological Seminary (1857). Among the best students he was recommended for the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, where he studied until 1860, when, at the personal request of Metropolitan Gregory (Postnikov) of St. Petersburg, he was given the post of rector of the church at the Russian consulate in the city of Hakodate (Japan), and was also awarded a Ph.D in Theology without having to submit an appropriate qualifying essay.

On June 23, 1860, he was tonsured by the rector of the Academy, Bishop Nektarios (Nadezhdin), and named for Saint Nicholas of Myra. On June 30 he was ordained a Hieromonk.

He arrived at Hakodate on July 2, 1861. During the first years of his stay in Japan, on his own he studied the Japanese language, culture and way of life.

The first Japanese person to convert to Orthodoxy, despite the fact that conversion to Christianity was forbidden by law, was the adopted son of a Shinto cleric, Takuma Sawabe, a former samurai who was baptized with two other Japanese in the spring of 1868.

During his half-century of service in Japan, Father Nicholas left only twice: in 1869-1870 and in 1879-1880. In 1870, through his intercession, a Russian ecclesiastical mission was opened in Japan with its center in Tokyo. On March 17, 1880, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was assigned as vicar of Reval, then vicar of the Diocese of Riga. He was consecrated as a Bishop on March 30, 1880, in Holy Trinity Cathedral at Alexander Nevsky Lavra.

In the course of his missionary work, Father Nicholas translated the Holy Scriptures and other liturgical books into Japanese; he established a theological seminary, six theological schools for girls and boys, a library, a shelter and other institutions. He published the Orthodox journal Church Herald in Japanese. According to his report to the Holy Synod, by the end of 1890 the Orthodox Church in Japan numbered 216 communities with 18,625 Christians in them.

On March 8, 1891, the Cathedral of the Resurrection in Tokyo, called Nikorai-do (ニコライ堂) by the Japanese, was consecrated. During the Russo-Japanese War, he remained with his flock in Japan, but did not take part in any public services. because according to the rite of worship (and the blessing of Japanese Christians to pray for their country's victory over Russia. Bishop Nicholas said: "Today, according to custom, I serve in the cathedral, but from now on I will no longer take part in the public services of our church... Hitherto I have prayed for the prosperity and peace of the Empire of Japan. Now, since war has been declared between Japan and my country, I, as a Russian subject, cannot pray for Japan's victory over my own homeland. I also have obligations to my country, and that is why I will be happy to see that you fulfill your duty in relation to your country."

When Russian prisoners of war began to arrive in Japan (their total number reached 73,000 people), Bishop Nicholas, with the consent of the Japanese government, formed the Society for the Spiritual Consolation of Prisoners of War. For their spiritual guidance, he selected five priests who spoke Russian. The prisoners were provided with icons and books. Vladyka repeatedly addressed them in writing (he himself was not allowed to see the prisoners).

On March 24, 1906, he was elevated to the rank of Archbishop of Tokyo and All Japan. In the same year, the Kyoto Vicariate was founded. In 1911, when half a century of Saint Nicholas' s missionary work was completed, there were already 266 communities of the Japanese Orthodox Church, which included 33,017 Orthodox laymen.

Archbishop Nicholas, the Enlightener of Japan, fell asleep in the Lord on February 3, 1912 at the age of 76, After the Hierarch's repose, the Japanese Emperor Meiji personally gave permission for him to be buried within the city, at the Yanaka cemetery. In Japan, Saint Nicholas is revered as a great righteous man and a special intercessor before the Lord.

He was canonized on April 10, 1970, by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Moscow Patriarchate. A Service was composed for him by Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov) of Leningrad and Novgorod, and published in 1978.

Saint Nicholas is also commemorated on the Sunday before July 28 (Synaxis of the Smolensk Saints).

Jaden narrowly survived the mass execution C.Y.L.A.S. performed on M.E.C.H. personnel after the success of his own life saving operation. This haunts Jaden deeper than he cares to admit and he has a bit of survivor's guilt from the whole experience, even though he doesn't wholly sympathize with his former coworkers.

He has an undiagnosed and untreated case of arthritis in his right shoulder. The trigger to pain flare ups are unknown but sleeping in his right side does seem to contribute into episodes.

Rematch of Ragnarok Premise and Roster

Premise: 1000 years after the first Ragnarok between the Gods and Humanity, where mankind managed to triumph over the heavens in the biggest upset the universe would ever know, the Heavens once again have convened to judge whether humanity deserves to he saved or not. Because of how humankind managed to impress many of the gods in the last Ragnarok, the votes for mankind’s extinction aren’t as unanimous as before, though ultimately it is still a majority vote for the end of the human race. However, the Morrigan, Queen of Death and Shadow of the Celtic Pantheon, chooses to make a proposal to her fellow deities: Humanity spat in the face of the Heavens, and humiliated them in the battle between Creator and Creation 1000 Years Ago. For the gods to wipe out mankind without repaying this loss would make them seem weak and unworthy of their positions as overseers of all creation. Thus, if the gods seek to cast judgement over all humanity, then they must repay mankind for the slight to their power, should they not? Zeus, the battle-crazed maniac he is, is all too happy to comply, and gleefully announces a grudge match to be held. The Gods have made their intent known: to show the proud and arrogant human race that the first Ragnarok was merely a fluke.

Brunhilde, The Leader of the Valkyries, ends up being caught off guard by this, not expecting another Ragnarok to be held so soon, and a quick conversation with the Buddha makes it clear that there’s more going on here than just a mere grudge. Regardless, mankind is once again at the precipice of extinction, and the Eldest Valkyrie must lead the charge in the face of the apocalypse once more.
