What would BCS be like if jimmy was conventionally hot. like if jimmy were JG
this is so cursed, i think you need to be doused in holy water for how cursed this is!
it would be bad and boring and terrible (perhaps this is overdramatic, it would still be a quality show. it would not be the show we love, however, and it would be poorer for it), because no one would have the sheer depth of pathos and comedic timing and overall charisma and pathetique meow meow softness and neon suit luridness that bob embodied for the role! he could do everything! every extraordinary facet and persona of that character, but most importantly, his heart - anyone else would make jimmy a slimeball. a more "conventionally" good-looking jimmy would be way more predatory, way less empathetic. bob's jimmy is perfectly balanced. he needed to be crooked yet endearing, we had to fall in love with him every bit as much as kim did, that's ultimately what made the show work.
besides, are you trying to tell me bob is not handsome?

bestie pls (i'm permanently warped by both these bald men shows btw so objectivity means nothing to me)

Hi Delaney,
I just listened to your new playlist entirely. It’s honestly a romance novel in a nutshell. The whole story line just wrote itself.
Something Great - Open the scene with the protagonist experiencing unrequited love.
Through the Dark - From the love interest’s POV, the love isn’t as unrequited as previously thought.
Why Don’t We Go There - Protagonist gets a really nice surprise from his love interest.
Does He Know? - Obligatory best friend vs almost boyfriend chapter.
Happily - They starts dating. Some people don’t like this development. Think campy ‘Romeo & Juliet’ which, come to think of it, that might be how Shakespeare intended. Less tragic obviously.
Strong - The defiant public display of affection. Because no one can break them apart.
Just a Little Bit of Your Heart - Never mind. The love interest was seen being cozy with someone else. Protagonist is heartbroken.
Fireproof - Love interest’s POV again. Basically establishes that the protagonist is an unreliable narrator.
Where Do Broken Hearts Go? - Protagonist is now groveling after wrongly accusing the love interest of cheating on him.
Ready to Run - The love interest turns out to be very understanding. It was his manipulative guardian who wanted to shove him into the closet and created the illusion that caused the misunderstanding after all. They’re a gay couple, btw. In case that wasn’t clear before,
Stockholm Syndrome - They basically run away together. Kind of? The protagonist didn’t get much advanced warning. It was all very impulsive on the love interest’s part.
No Control - The honeymoon phase. The protagonist is whipped. Not literally. Or maybe?
Olivia - They come back to face the music in real life. It’s kind of difficult. But protagonist is holding on.
Love You Goodbye - Love interest’s POV. We, readers, now realized the love interest is an equally unreliable narrator.
Two Ghosts - Protagonist is blindsided by their breakup. It’s a very confusing time for him.
Perfect - OPERATION: INTERVENTION by their very best friends. Mutually beneficial, because said best friends end up dating right after. Bam! Side story!
Sweet Creature - The sweetest lovemaking ever. The dirty talk (Question: Is it dirty talk when it’s all very sweet and nostalgic?) is a bunch of throw back to the time when they were just roommates. I forgot to mention that at the beginning.
Home - Love interest’s POV. Basically a love letter to protagonist.
If I Could Fly - Circumstances force them to do a long distance relationship. Maximum pining.
Just Hold On - They mutually decide to take a break from their relationship. Both thinking they’re giving the other an easy way out. The lack of honest and meaningful communication is real.
Someday - Each of their attempts to move on from each other is such a spectacular failure. A chapter of comedic goldmine.
Two of Us - Oh, no. Love interest just lost one of the most important people in his life. He retreats from social life to grieve alone. Agonizing angst here.
Ever Since New York - More heartbreak. Protagonist receives a seriously bad news from home. He suddenly understands why the love interest disappear from everyone and everything. Losing a family member hurts like hell.
Don’t Let It Break Your Heart - Love interest reaches out to offer condolences and helping hands at the funeral. Because, of course, protagonist did the same for him before.
Alfie’s Song (Not So Typical Love Song) - They seem to be tentatively getting back together.
Back to You - But they fight a lot. Love interest is very insecure, thinking protagonist only sees him as a temporary familiar comfort. The silent treatment is loud.
Meet Me in the Hallway - They break up again. If you could call it that. They weren’t really back together, were they?
Miss You - Love interest’s POV. The song basically said it all. He’s not okay. Nothing is fine. But he’s doing his best to pretend it is.
From the Dining Table - Protagonist is also not fine. At all.
Always You - It has taken quite a while but the love interest finally decides to reach out again.
To Be So Lonely - Protagonist is not having it this time.
Too Young - It’s the love interest’s turn to grovel. With incredibly sincere apology.
Lights Up - Protagonist is wavering. But still not convinced.
CHANGES - Love interest grovels some more.
Sunflower, Vol. 6 - Protagonist is this close to giving in. But he’s afraid of getting his heart broken again. Love interest has never once said the most important four-letter word again after all.
Defenseless - Love interest’s POV. Anxiety-filled chapter. It’s incredibly difficult but he still shows his hands, feeling half hopeful and half terrified. Basically saying to protagonist ‘I love you’ and ‘Please love me back’
Fine Line - Protagonist finally gives in. Makeup sex ensues. They’re both crying messes at this point.
Only the Brave - Love interest is planning to come out to his distance relatives and work colleagues. But he’s scared because of how badly his once-guardian had reacted.
Treat People With Kindness - Protagonist is very supportive every step of the way.
Fearless - Another anxiety-filled chapter. Love interest has a Confrontation with his once-guardian. But he can see right through all the manipulation tactics this time.
Adore You - Protagonist finds out about the Confrontation. He can understand the love interest’s great fear of coming out now.
We Made It - They celebrates getting back together with a group of their closest friends. But love interest’s once-guardian manages to weasel his way into manipulating the protagonist. By implying that the love interest had lied about coming out to everyone else other than their closest friends.
Falling - It’s their worst fight yet. They don’t sleep in the same bed for the first time since getting back together. Their friends meet up to plan another INTERVENTION.
Walls - They had the first of many very meaningful and brutally honest conversations. The intervention from their friends is thankfully not needed.
Golden - Protagonist finds out exactly how insecure the love interest actually is. Many Actions of Reassurance commence with the help of all their good friends and families.
Habit - Love interest is finally comfortable with their public displays of affection again. Still somewhat insecure. But protagonist is getting very good at dissuading him from that particular notion.
Canyon Moon - Circumstances require another period of long distance relationship. But they have actual honest-to-god good communication now so it’s alright! Happy Ending for now. Yayyyyyyy!!!!!! Roll credits.
Huh. So when I said roll credits, I looked through the songs to see who were the songwriters. I’m not sure why it didn’t cross my mind before. But you intentionally chose only the songs either Louis Tomlinson or Harry Styles co-wrote, didn’t you? Damn it. You’ve already planned this whole thing. Now I feel dumb typing all that out. Ughhhhhhhh.
Still love you. But god I hate you sometimes. And I thought I was so clever. Ughhhhhhhh!
DO NOT reply with “No! Jimmy protested.”
I hate you so much right now.
Yours truly,
Sasha

Slams fist down the Diamonds from SU
I can’t really do white diamond yet but here we go!
Blue Diamond:
First impression: BOSS ASS BITCH (Ironically at the time I joked about asking her to abduct me and then the Human Zoo was revealed PFFF) Of course a frightening experience because of the fact she wanted Garnet crushed, but it showed she was in charge and it was a loosing fight. Hence the rest of The Answer happened. Powerful and ready to destroy.
Impression now: She needs a hug, this reveal about Pink will offer her so much closure and the person someone is in grief is sometimes unrecognizable of who they are not grieving. She has sins to answer for, no doubt but this is the beginning of the rest of her life.
Favorite moment:
Tumblr media
Idea for a story: I think it would be adorable if she spent time meeting the people of Beach city. I know people tend to hate on the ‘filler’ episodes but for some reason I think she’d like Sadie. Greg and her of course would get along, bless Greg and his stability. She should also learn that Blue Pearl is a person, and I feel like she would love pumpkin dog!
Unpopular opinion: I do which she was a darker blue color like in the visuals that we saw for The Answer. I do get that it was artistic retelling and not a 1 for 1 representation of events.  I just got really into those first fan interpretations and humanizations. (maybe not unpopular as people do tend to hate on a lot of the designs for SU)
Favorite relationship: Greg and Blue are gonna be BFFs if nothing else. He knows how to work through grief and how to be there for someone and yes good.
Favorite headcanon: I don’t really have any for her before this but I’d imagine her emotional powers can also work with happiness and other positive emotions.
Yellow Diamond:
First impression: She really let us the viewer know first hand what homeworld thinks. Sure we had stories and the war but to know even today that this hierarchy of worth is STILL in place? That nothing has changed of it’s volition all this time? Horrifying. She also is a hard ruler, unlike Blue demanding someone crush Garnet, she would have done it herself.
Impression now: She requires such strict control as a way of ignoring her own feelings. Like I’m p sure her future is going to be about cracking through that harshness.
Favorite moment:
Tumblr media
Idea for a story: She becomes the lesbian farmer that Rush Limbaugh warned you about
Unpopular opinion: Im not too sure what the youths are thinking out there ????
Favorite relationship: Yellow and Blue is like her…only relationship with any depth? yey?
Favorite headcanon:
Her hair is a helmet okay like
Tumblr media
Yall fucked up if you wanted that you should have made her hair into the shape of yellows hair, here it just looks like a helmet. I just cannot with this. Maybe this falls under unpopular opinion but even since Jungle Moon my jimmies have been rustled.
Okay I’m going to split Pink into two.
Pink Diamond:
First impression: I was mostly angry with the fandom. We saw her on a bad day and then they were painting her as a brat. But anyway. My first impression was one of a frustration she’s supposed to be equal to Yellow and yet she was talked down to. If she didn’t have the skills then they should be taught, she is also man handled which is always demeaning. Supposedly a gem comes out of the ground with all the knowledge they should have to perform their function? Then why was there this discrepancy with Pink? Why is she so little? Is she a malformation? How does that play into a sapient beings esteem? She would have been raised to believe she had to be perfect and yet she was never given the tools to improve herself. She probably was both mocked for her imperfection and demanded she get better??? magically????  tl:dr She’s frustrated and belittled of course she’d lash out.
Impression now: Complicated. She fundamentally, even as Rose, didn’t understand organic life and it’s complexities but fuck, at least she tried. Without her and the war Earth would be dead. She fucked up but as Pink, she tried. Tried and failed.
Favorite moment:
Tumblr media
I find this so cute, she gave zero fucks for the stairs. IMMA YEET MYSELF.
Idea for a story: Human AU were Pink (Rose can be her twin sister btw) was afraid of being a Mom so she leaves Steven with Greg, then she comes back years later to learn who her son has become and debates if she should insert herself into his life after the way she left.
Unpopular opinion: I like her design. With the way they made her so different than the other Diamonds it makes sense that her mural would look like that and since they probably didn’t want her known as the ‘wrong’ diamond they wouldn’t use too much of her actual visage. It was a great lesson for the fandom in learning to chill the fuck out with jumping to conclusions based on limited information.
Favorite relationship: Pinks relationship with Rose. Okay so that sounds weird but I love that Pink’s liberation and idea of freedom is Rose, Rose is everything she wanted to be and I just think that’s neat.
Favorite headcanon: She’s Polyamorous but sucks balls at communication
Rose Quartz:
First impression: IM LOVE HER???? She’s this big, soft, feminine warrior that believed in the beauty of life in all it’s weird and varied ways, from the tiniest thing like a pretty bug to the largest of animals and trees.
Impression now: She was a flawed alien rock, she genuinely did find life beautiful and fascinating but lacked the sense to know that she couldn’t treat Greg like she did, Greg helped her learn what humanity really means and how it works and the depth that she had for whatever reason, never learned until then. Perhaps her previous human lovers were okay with the casual nature of their relationship or like, she was just the party girl that would party hardy and leave while everyone is passed out or something. She would observe and casually join in but not really understand. Greg showed her humanity, taught her a equal relationship has standards. She is both everything I thought and so much more.
Isn’t it remarkable, Steven? This world is full of so many possibilities. Each living thing has an entirely unique experience. The sights they see, the sounds they hear. The lives they live are so complicated… and so simple. I can’t wait for you to join them.
When a Gem is made, it’s for a reason. They burst out of the ground already knowing what they’re supposed to be, and then… that’s what they are. Forever. But you, you’re supposed to change. You’re never the same even moment to moment – you’re allowed and expected to invent who you are. What an incredible power – the ability to “grow up.”
Now, now, that’s not true at all. Sure, all these places have been explored before, but they haven’t been recorded so intimately as they have been in this journal. It makes them new and special all over again for any reader to experience.
Because you’re going to become something extraordinary. You’re going to be a human being. That’s my favorite part. A human being. A human is an action. I wonder who, how you’ll be, what you’ll think, what you’ll want. Oh, I’m so happy for everyone who’s going to know you. I’m rambling. If they look to you, trust yourself. Take care of them, Nora.
These are the words of someone in awe of the beauty of life and understands the value of individual experiences. I admire that, she loved life, and wanted to fight for that even if she didn’t always understand it.
Favorite moment:
Oh man I have a few???
Tumblr media
ROSE SMASH
Even tho it wasn’t really Rose I love the Charlie Brown moment in Storm in the Room
Her using her shield to save Garnet and Pearl
Her getting knocked over in the kindergarden and saying welcome to earth to the Amethyst, and saying “hello my fellow quartz’s”
Idea for a story:  A comedic story of Rose being shape shifted cat and getting into shenanigans around beach city, maybe its a cute bonding time with amethyst or something. Or maybe Gregs van breaks down and she doesn’t understand what Greg is talking about exactly and she thinks the vehicle is alive (Greg says stuff like ‘Oh no my van! she’s broke!’)
Unpopular opinion: This kinda goes under headcanon but I don’t think she and Greg had sex (I think they as a species find it weird because they dont have sexual attraction because they are non-sexually reproducing species). I think she took his dna through a kiss and synthesized a baby in her womb
Favorite relationship: I think Rose and Amethyst had the cutest relationship
Favorite headcanon: She would be a meme lord she would find the easily shared humor amazing

Edd finds May crying to herself in the janitor’s closet.
This is a scene nobody expected when watching this episode for the first time. The mood changes. Listen to the music in the background. It’s a flute playing a melancholic tone in the background.
Ed, Edd n Eddy plays on a comedic path, but has its serious moments. And AKA knows how to play out those scenes in a serious tone.
No viewer expected for May to cry over Ed ignoring her Valentine.
This episode gave me a whole new perspective on May. All along she has liked Ed. This was her one chance to follow through with a plan she made up. Not her sisters. It was just her plan. This is what growing up is about. We have to learn to trust ourselves. Leaving her sisters is like leaving into the real world where you have to fend for yourself. The kids fear adulthood.
May doesn’t have anyone else to go to. Her sisters won’t help because they bottle of emotions. The Kanker’s are loners. They don’t want anyone to know about the life they live and feel bad for them. They have to live differently from everyone else. The Kanker’s are good at bottling up their feelings because we really don’t know how they feel about their living situation.
May is lonely.
I noticed that all the eene specials have serious elements in them. Loneliness is the major theme that sets the tone in the episodes. I know it’s hard to see that in the Halloween special and the Ed’s are Comin, but I’ll give examples. Eddy is alone after being abandoned by everyone in the Christmas special, May has nobody else to go to when Ed breaks her heart, Eddy is alone in his mind to face the truth that his brother may not be a good person in the Halloween special, and nobody will believe Jimmy when he believes aliens have taken over the world.
Tumblr media
May expresses in tears that ‘Big Ed’ hates her.
Fans have ridiculed that May should have known this beforehand due to the way she and her sisters attacked the Ed’s. May didn’t know better at the time. She had a little piece of hope that Ed thought differently about her now that the Kanker’s backed off. May was denying that Ed hated her up until this point. It’s heart breaking because May doesn’t know how to feel about herself.
I have a head canon that each Kanker has a low self esteem about them self, but mostly May. She’s different. She has a unique personality which stands out from her sisters.
Lee once said to May; “You have a great personality. Who needs good looks when you got us?”
Is this a compliment or was Lee saying that May wasn’t pretty?
May has been going along with her sisters motivations for years. The only way a person knows who they are is by social interaction. Without it we don’t know how to base off ourselves. When May stepped away from her sisters it meant that she wanted to walk into society and get to know the world. Other kids may fear the Kanker’s which is a downside to May’s plan. May has to fight the fearful image they caused and show people that she isn’t a bad person.
Edd looks uncomfortable throughout the scene. He doesn’t know May. The Ed’s and the Kanker’s have had a dark past.
Over time Edd has been studying people’s feelings. Emotions are never something Edd thought about. Just like Eddy. Arguably Eddy has more of handle on emotions when it comes to interacting with the world.
Edd learns that everyone is a person with human emotions. This scene is so important to all viewers. We have to watch what we say or we’ll hurt anyone. This is what happens to Edd in Big Picture Show. Up until now Edd believed that Eddy didn’t have emotions and thought walking away and saying unkind things wouldn’t register to Eddy. He was wrong.
Tumblr media
The bell rings for class to begin.
Edd hears it.
Edd ignores it and stays to cheer up May.
Edd has learned!
All throughout season 5 Edd believed school was more important then friendship. School has always been Edd’s happy place. He would rather throw away his friendship to hand deliver his friend’s report cards to their parents just to get on teacher’s good sides. Edd also wouldn’t stick up for his friends when he needed them. It was all the Ed’s to some degree who almost ruined the friendship, but it’s Edd who learns the biggest lesson.
Friendship is more important.
Tumblr media
Edd assures May that Ed is just being shy.
He’s at a loss for what to say to May, but he’s doing a good job. Ed is shy around girls.
Edd turns his head to the bell, growing worried. He says, “Oh dear”. under his breath. Still he stays and gently asks May if she wants to go to class.
Is Edd going to kindly walk together with May to class? This boy is so sweet!
Tumblr media
May is upset that nobody has given her a Valentine on Valentine's Day.
Other kids must be handing out Valentine’s off screen. I remember in my elementary school years every had to give a Valentine to all their classmates. Once middle school came along that tradition stopped. Friends may do it with their friends. There are different Valentine’s day traditions everywhere. Due to how upset May is I don’t think she has ever received a Valentine. She dislikes how everyone avoids them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Edd looks all around, and then he turns his back to May scribbling on something.
What are the Kanker’s social status in the school? Is it determined an embarrassment to be seen with them? We know the Ed’s are outcasted by the school. Edd fears the in crowd. That’s where rumors produce. The last thing he wants if for his dark secret to get around or if someone saw what he was about to do for May.
Edd cares about his social status in some way. I don’t know if this is insulting to May, but he is caught off guard in the scene. He can’t be rude and leave May crying alone. I bet that Edd sees himself in May. We have all had moments in school in another place where we start crying. Either we want to be alone you still subconsciously want a person to come and talk to you.
BTW, I love the setup of this shot. The audience are the only people of witness to this moment. We’re the only ones who witness Edd give May a Valentine card.
Tumblr media
In this sorry sounding voice Edd says that he really must get to class.
Before leaving he wishes May a Happy Valentine’s Day.
Tumblr media
’Naturally, I Select You’
Edd gave up a card he was going to give Nazz, to May.
This card also has a big heart and a man pointing at the person reading the card. The card has multiple meanings. Every guy in this show has, or has had, a crush on Nazz. Does Edd still like Nazz? Is he trying to get her attention.
I notice in season 6 Edd and Eddy are questioning their feelings more. Edd is more in denial about these feelings because it’s not what his parents would accept. He’s trying to set a good example for them.
Back to the gesture, this is so kind of Edd to do. There is more to May. And I bet he is happy that he did this.

Post Ep Ponderings March 2
Is it weird that it seems to me like Jimmy and Rakesh might become friends? They really did seem to have some sort of weird connection during their Resevoir Dogs scene (btw, totally forgot to mention that I think that might’ve been the coolest thing to ever come out of Rakesh’s mouth). You know, when I think of this whole thing, it’s actually Priya that’s annoying me the most. Mostly I’m a fan of hers, and I get that she would be upset that Jimmy pushed her husband out of a window, but acting like he got it worse than Nicola is simply ridiculous.
I’m starting to think that Charity is going to end up doing something really stupid when it comes to Frank, and I really don’t think he’s worth it. I don’t even really like Megan, but now I’m having dreams of Charity and Megan teaming up somehow. Weird, right?
Chrissie is for real obsessed with Ronnie not being as good a person as everyone thinks. I get it, I’m sure it has to do with Robert being a total asshole to her when they first came to Emmerdale. I love Robert, I get why he is how he is and why he was how he was, but that doesn’t change anything for Chrissie. Lawrence is right, between Robert and Andy cheating on her (sort of), I’m not surprised she’s a mess. I know most people really hate her, and she does get on my nerves sometimes, but I actually feel bad for Chrissie. Robert really messed her up and I can’t help but feel bad for her.
I’m also glad Ronnie tricked her. I worry a bit that Lawrence will find out and be mad at him, but I think he did it for the right reasons and I hope everything works out. After all, what he did wasn’t really all that bad, all things considered.
Marlon might be one of my all time favourite characters. His comedic brilliance once again brought a light to the episode. Still chuckling over his reaction to see Charity naked.
Random thought: I feel like they’re soon going to have someone else working at the pub, and not just because Chas will be off soon. They are constantly going on about how there’s not enough staff, or at least Vic and Marlon are.
Speaking of Marlon, indirectly, I loved the girls night party and especially the Laurel and Carly talk. I really liked that they both just had a real, honest talk. Too many times situations like that go awry because no one is willing to listen. I love when writers of shows actually make their characters reasonable people. Now I’m just wondering if we’re finally going to find out exactly why Carly has such a problem with commitment.
Question of the Day: Does Tracy not know that Laurel is a recovering alcholic?
Finally, and here comes the panic attacks. Poor Aaron! I bet if he weren’t locked up, he’d be going for a run. God, Robert is going to feel so guilty if/when something happens to him because he accidentally outed him in the worst situation possible. Chas will probably take a chunk of that guilt too after going after the homophobe. It likely didn’t help Aaron’s case.
Today’s pondering will be up soon.
