by no means do i want to speak sacrilegiously...but establishing first episode that walker is not being interested in settling down with a woman and sighing when his family asks him about it...this tension between him and trivette...being a perfect gentleman to the lawyer girl and taking her out to the bull riding thing...blushing at her hugs...it's giving gentle giant disaster bisexual i fear
#walker texas ranger#jimmy trivette#cordell walker#oldies rewatch#i need some meta on this cause im going insane#(slightly)#where is my walker fandom discourse

I looked this up, and apparently Walker is a rewrite reimagining of Walker, Texas Ranger (1993-2001). Cordell Walker, as played by Chuck Norris, was a mixture of white and Cherokee and was raised by his paternal uncle, a Cherokee named Ray Firewalker.
Walker is very different, as it gives the previously uncle-raised Cordell a living father (played by Mitch Pileggi), a living mother (played by Molly Hagan), a brother named Liam (played by Keegan Allen), a sixteen-year-old daughter named Stella (played by Violet Brinson), and a fourteen-year-old son named Arlo (played by Kale Culley). The excellent African-American partner of Chuck Norris’s Walker, James “Jimmy” Trivette, has likewise been replaced by Lindsey Morgan (a half-Mexican and half-Irish actress), who will be playing Cordell’s new partner, Micki.
Have your heard about Jared's Padalecki new show? Walker. He is supposed to be a POC

Ah, so its “like this badly written character anyway because of their skin color”, gotcha. Thanks for clearing it up.
And I’ve seen people fawn over badly written black characters, the aforementioned Valkyrie and Michelle. People completely ignoring how one is a slave trader and a complete vapid asshole to the people around her because “no, you have to like them because they’re black and replacing icky gross white girls”.
The difference between the two of us is, I see people prop up garbage characters of all skin colors and genders, and just see people with shitty tastes. You only focus on one type of character and only choose to see “the only reason people could hate this character is because of racism”.
Yes, clearly, I have no favorite black characters....
(Ororoe Monroe, Lucas Bishop, Evan Daniels, Al Simmons, John Henry Irons, Eric Brooks, MCD’s Wilson Fisk, Jamie Foxx’s Max Dillion, Luke Cage, Misty Knight, James Rhodes, Sam Wilson, T’Challa, Shuri, Okeye, Liz Allen, Cyborg, John Stewart, Elisa Maza, Stacker Pentecost, Uhura, Geordie la Forge, Tuvok, Jax Briggs, Jacqui Briggs, Zack Taylor, Aisha Campbell, TJ Johnson, Damen Henderson, Joel Rawlings, Katie Walker, Scott Truman, Jimmy Trivette, David Anderson, Aveline de Grandpre, Adewale, and Jake Justice. Just to name a few off the top of my head.)
So I clearly have no stake in the argument to begin with.

03. list your fandoms and one character from each that you identify with.
The X-Files - Special Agent Fox Mulder
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation - Warrick Brown
Law & Order: Criminal Intent - Lt. Alex Eames
The Walking Dead - Carol Peletier

04. do you like your name? is there another name you think would fit you better? I didn’t like my name growing up because it was always (a.l.w.a.y.s.) mispronounced (and misspelled). But now that I’m older, I love it. It’s different even today. And it stands out. There is no other name that would suit me at all. So I’m happy my name is Larissa Beth.
05. do you think of yourself as a human being or a human doing? do you identify yourself by the things you do? I'm definitely a human being. I don't measure myself with the things I do, but the person that I am on the inside. My heart guides me.
12. dog person or cat person? Both. Definitely both.
13. inside or outdoors? Both. It depends on the season and how my body feels whether I can enjoy the outdoors.
16. if you’d grown up in a different environment, do you think you’d have turned out the same? No, definitely not. I know I wouldn't be the same person at all had we not moved when I was about to start the second grade. I was really close with my cousins, and they got into a lot of trouble. There is no doubt that I'd have been the same as I would have been hanging out with them.
18. what’s your patronus? A hare.
20. would you rather be in Middle Earth, Narnia, Hogwarts, or somewhere else? Narnia. Definitely Narnia.
21. do you love easily? Yes. And because of it I am easily hurt. But I don't regret giving my heart easily.
22. list the top five things you spend the most time doing, in order. 1). Spending time with family/friends 2). Watching television 3). Playing with my animals. 4). RolePlaying 5) Taking a long, hot bath
23. how often would you want to see your family every year? As much as I possibly could.
24. have you ever felt like you had a “mind-meld” with someone? Yes, many times. It's super freaky, but it is also neat at the same time.
25. could you live as a hermit? No. I need people to be okay mentally and emotionally.
26. how would you describe your gender/sexuality? Pansexual. I fall in love with the person regardless of their gender. I'm most definitely female.
28. on a scale from 1 to 10, how hard is it for someone to get under your skin? Five. It takes a lot for some people, but then there are some that it wouldn’t take much at all. But there aren’t that many of those people.
29. three songs that you connect with right now. 1). The Champion by Carrie Underwood featuring Ludacris 2). Almost Love by Sabrina Carpenter 3). Make Me (Cry) by Noah Cyrus and Labrinth
30. pick one of your favorite quotes. "Letting someone go is a process. It took time to trust them, so it will take time to let them go. Don’t expect yourself to wake up the next day and be completely over them – it’s okay to not be okay."
